Babes, as noted in the follow up post I made to the post you’re presumably angry about, Mabel has a lot of things going for her and I don’t hate her. She just suffers from bad writing that ends up making her really unlikable in some ways.

I would be totally willing to talk about all the things that make her cool with you, and yet you chose like…one of the worst possible instances of her being selfless as a defense. What about when she chooses to love and trust her uncle above all else, even if it means she might have to deal with another world ending event? What about when she chooses to try to be Pacifica’s friend and teach her about healthy relationships? What about when she genuinely feels bad for Robbie despite all the trouble he’s caused? Mabel is a 12 year old girl with normal flaws, she just, again, suffers from some bad writing that can really grind people’s gears. Critique the writers for that, don’t attack people who notice it.

If you're referring to Li Yunrui's character in the cdrama "Blossom", his wedding attire is very historically accurate -- in fact, it's one of the most historically accurate depictions of Ming dynasty wedding hanfu I've seen in a cdrama ever:

The red sash is called 披红/pihong. It was popular during the Ming and Qing dynasties as an accessory for celebratory events such as weddings, ceremonies, etc. It was often worn by grooms during weddings. Below are depictions of pihong in historical art from the Ming dynasty (x):

Pihong is still sometimes worn as a part of wedding attire today, especially for Ming dynasty-style hanfu weddings (1/2):

hi! i noticed too but unfortunately I'm not the right person that can confirm if it's historically accurate. I know the drama borrows a lot from Ming Dynasty but from what I've searched, I didn't find anything specific about this part of the wedding atire.

te fiti's powers are more nature based than anything else, seeing as she's referred to as the mother island, so it's highly unlikely that she could've done anything for hei hei.

plus, if we're to consider how te fiti takes inspiration from polynesian deities, they also don't really do any "miracles" like that, at least from my own recollection. though anyone that knows more about polynesian mythology can gladly correct me.

so that's why hei hei is still his lovable, clueless self.

If people are doing flower bath, at least, from where I am from, they will find 7 different colours/types of flowers. Generally it is to ward off evil/change the vibe. An example would be using the seven-flower water to wash our hand ceremoniously after coming back from a funeral.

In dramas I see pink or red flower petals in the tubs/water vessels when women bathe. What were the petals there for?

What the fandom deserves is a full-fledged, canon redemption arch for Mabel, perhaps in the form of a novel.

I agree! I’d love to see her improve in more follow up content! Same with Wendy, she deserves much more as well. I love all the Gravity Falls characters, and I’d love to see more of all of them, especially the ones whose development got shafted for the sake of the series not drawing on forever (which I can’t really fault Alex Hirsch for).
