this is gonna be based off all the skating types i can think of .. basically everyone just. lives in the same town. they all skate. thats the farthest ive gotten

in my head its based in some beach town or a small city - maybe off charleston or something but geography doesnt matter - the roads are flat and all that matters is that they have gas stations and a skating park, a roller rink and an ice rink.

so far - (i know not every character is on the list. thats either because i forgot about them or they just dont skate)

blueberry (good but gave up the first time he failed an ollie)

paintbrush (ok at it!! doesnt try to do tricks though)

lightbulb (all she wants to do is learn how to kickflip. shes pretty good at it but she cant kickflip yet)

clover (longboards along the beach,, she doesnt have to be good she's just cruising)

cressida's storyline was genuinely shameful tbhhh it's like they started rewriting it in the first half of the season then completely forgot about the changes they'd made to make it fit the book plot and it just ends up making everyone else look bad😐 every character in the second half got a "penelope did nothing wrong" lobotomy so we ended up with eloise completely ignoring cressida being sold off to an horrible man (when she made every effort to support her in the first half of the season) and for some reason resenting her for pretending to be lady whistledown? Then they somehow frame her ignoring colin's offensively bad pleas as it being her turning away from redemption when all she's trying to do is escape being trapped in the country with her likely abusive aunt... and it ends with her meeting her horrible fate and it still being framed as tragic only to immediately juxtapose it with the bridgerton family winning the idgaf war while gleefully seeing off francesca and her future dead husband. The bridgertons were the villains of the season frfr

Time and time again, the internet will claim to want more "unhinged" female characters but the moment a female character does (1) one thing that is slightly immoral or even just a bit questionable, everyone loses their collective minds and they start writing like 100-page dissertations on why she is "bad representation" and how she will "set a negative example"

And it becomes abundantly clear that when some people say they want "unhinged" female characters, what they really mean is they want a totally normal girl who just looks like she shops at hot topic

random questions for starters.

ren dabs disinfectant around a larger cut, a practiced precaution to avoid infection. something in the air shifts when veritas speaks and he finds that perhaps there is some unspoken irony to it all. then again, this isn’t anything he hasn’t seen before. blood, something raw and unfiltered, just a sprinkle of pain that stings and burns. ratio’s voice is the only thing that keeps him tethered to reality, the only thing that makes him believe that any of this is actually real.

ren wraps bandages around an open wound, a practiced motion he knows all too well. up, down and around. he laces it in a zig-zag pattern to keep it from coming undone. the feeling of nausea kicks in, stomach twisted in pain. it feels as if a void of anxiety has opened up in his very core, greedy hands searching for anything to hold onto and consume. again, this is not an unfamiliar sight. it should blend into all of the other times he’s been injured, exposed to obscene sights that can’t properly be described. carnage after carnage, the natural sound of a sharp blade cutting through flesh, the following stench of iron in liquid. this time is different, this time he wants to turn, run and empty the contents of his own stomach to get rid of the nauseating agony. 

ren finally acknowledges the irony of it all, a reluctant smile trying to ease the tension. if anyone is well aware of how strong the human body is, it should be him. regardless of overflowing abundance forcing itself upon him, cuts like these are usually not that difficult to handle. they require quite the easy fix and nothing more, rarely affecting one’s physical body or mental state. 

ren knows that he has seen it all before but not like this. hands reach for ratio’s, clasping it between warm palms, another heated confession brought forth by an unexpected turn of events. ren stares at the bandages around veritas’ arm, gaze shifting between their arms as if comparing something. it should have been him, or so he thinks, then at least veritas would not be the one injured right now. it should have been ren, he would have gladly suffered this injury if it was guaranteed to spare ratio of any unnecessary pain. oh, how ironic it really is. ren bleeds and bleeds & bleeds even more. all so that veritas doesn’t have to. to inadvertently care so much for someone else is still new to him, an emotion he still needs to master properly. where frigid walls once wrapped around a cold core, veritas has granted ren so much time and patience, thawing out a heart sealed in ice. 

“ mhm, the irony does not evade me. ” a thumb brushes over the bandaged arm and ren steps closer. just close enough to make sure that veritas is still there, as if his senses are not to be trusted. he can see him, hear him and feel him — yet something feels amiss. selfish, he labels himself as, for focusing more on his own feelings than whatever veritas is going through right now. part of him still thinks this is unreal, that maybe this is another nightmare his brain concocted to instill proper fear into his system. fear of what? this, whatever the fuck this is. this horrible feeling of worry and panic. this whisper that reminds ren that his lover is not safe from the jaws of death. the back of his hand searches for ratio’s cheek, begs for any type of contact that might help him feel better, seeks out comfort that veritas ( and veritas only ) knows how to offer. “ you need to be more careful. ”

ren does not hesitate when he leans in & plants a shaky kiss onto ratio’s lips. he lingers that close for another moment, maybe it won’t make the worry in his eyes so obvious if he manages to hide it like this. ratio is here, he is going to be just fine, he is alive. again, he repeats the same words over & over until they begin to sound real.

The whiplash of going between: Dorian/Sorscha - Chaol/Aedion - Manon/Abraxos - Celaena(Aelin)/Rowan is jarring and fantastic.

Its like "aw cute kissing and helping, hope nothing goes wrong here! (doubtful bc its too simple and happy for this series tbh) not sure if I like the whole stifling his power plan, feels a little sus tbh... but w/e you do you I guess" to "are yall flirting? are you both in love with Celaena(Aelin)? what is going on with this part of the story? wtf is happening here? you're both kinda boring but also idk what either of you are playing at??" to "fuck yeah badass, bloodthirsty witches and a silly lil stubborn wyvern who just wants to smell the flowers. idgaf who's side yall are on tbh, this is awesome and I am here for all of it. I hope yall figure out wtf is happening here bc its sus. why is all the meat weird??" to "is punching her in the face flirting? he bit her neck... that seems like flirting. its been a v fun time and I wish I could read as fast as Rowan can run bc I just want to slam the whole story into my brain at once but also enjoy every second.

i've been thinking a lot recently abt how different my current job is to my first job and how much more i like it and why, and it really just comes down to like. basic humanity. at the hardware store, it was a really intense "time to lean time to clean" mentality, we weren't allowed to chat with the other cashiers even during slow days, we couldn't get caught reading/drawing/goofing off while on cash, we weren't even allowed to leave the corral. at the supermarket, we're expected to take our time w the customers and talk to them. the managers and other departments come out when they're bored to come chat w us! i read the local paper during slow hours and draw in between customers, and its great! everyone is also just really nice and friendly which is fantastic, i can't name one person over there i don't get along with

and i happened to remember the first meeting i had to go to for the hardware store lmfao. i showed up in uniform bc there was no indication that it was a meeting instead of a regular shift, we were basically told to go stock the shelves/face items for an hour (? still not sure why. they did this to all of us and it did Not need to be done) and while we were paid for that time i was NOT trained for it, so when customers came up and asked like "hey wheres the plumbing section" i had to go "um. i don't know :) let's go find someone else" and had no way to deal with it when they inevitably got really fucking mad w me for not being able to help them

and then when the meeting finally actually started, it opened w the manager going "ok i heard some of you had some things you wanted to discuss!" and a couple of the other cashiers reading off a list of issues they wanted to address. none of which were actually addressed. it was shit like "when you guys come down to customer service and immediately disregard the policies we've just explained, it makes us look like the bad guys and gets us treated very poorly by future customers" "ok well are we supposed do about that :)"/"you need to give us our breaks on time. if managers have to be in charge of telling us when we're allowed to go on break, they need to make sure they're not hours late when doing that" "well we're really busy so sometimes we forget but i guess we'll try :)"

... yeah. if i had been a little bit smarter at the time, i would have realized 2wks in that this was a baby union, we were being exploited and i was abt to have the shittiest fucking summer lmao

i keep forgetting that theres a work party next week and im actually going for once because its actually at a convenient time for me. why did i think this was a good idea (im sure it has nothing to do with the guy who is occasionally on my mind being there.... which is a stupid reason bc people who he is friends with will be there so it's not like he's even going to speak to me.... although the machines at work are getting in the way of me speaking to him because they made conversation - that he started, might i point out - between us nigh on impossible) . ......................... anyways it's bring ur own drinks and i can't honestly be bothered to pour any more money into this (its already costing me a fiver and what little sanity i have left) .... and also it's on a beach and they have organised activities such as team sports so i might actually kms im not capable of that BUT i have to go bc im not wasting the money & i do have friends (well. sort of.) who are going
