2024. The year of the fire shield. 🔥

This was my second year performing with fire, and I had a lot of fun incorporating the sword and shield into my art.

A huge thank you to all the fire folks who have welcomed me until the flow community, including those at Ignition Fire troupe, Fire Camp, all my PNW flowmies, and everyone else i had the pleasure of meeting this year. It's so heartwarming being a part of this art community. 🧡

INKTOBER 13 - Fire Knight, Elden Ring

The Fire Knights serve directly under the command of Messmer the Impaler. Each knight has a different combat style and attire, such as Hilde, Salza, Wego, Kood and Queelign, Queen Marika's religious fanatic who invades you on more than one occasion (he looks like Petrus of Thorolund from DS, both with the same ugly hairstyle). I was messing around tonight and found a way to yeet the Fire Knight Captain off the bridge. He’s a boss type npc and can be a real pain to fight. He’s found in the shadow keep.

First I shot some normal arrows to break the spears lining the bridge and then hit him with a few arrows to aggro him. Then I switched over to the new cannon and used lighting great bolts to yeet him into the abyss. I wasn’t sure if it would work at first, but it did.

i noticed that when those regular ghostly humans cast serpent fire (or the PC) we see messmer's symbol light up during cast (same as with other incantations). not when the fire knights cast it, however. i wonder if it has to do with them having received a flame from messmer in some form. though we also know that it didn't take hold in them so they're using incantations , too. so i wonder what that's about.

That magical moment when you bring your sword and shield to the party and encounter a like-minded soul with their own sword.

One of my many highlights from Kindle this year was clashing steel with Sterling Bishop on the beach. I really couldn't have asked for more for my birthday weekend.
