{ The mercenary said, his eyes peering down at her. It seemed odd, for him to be acting this way, especially towards Fiona. All those insults, all those moments of hatred, added to the strangeness of his current behavior. Redwood was showing "care" for someone he so regularly, so often, despised. }

          ‒‒‒‒‒‒‒‒ It  was  maybe  inevitable.  Ben’s not so much impulsive as he is a man who follows through on his emotions,  who at times does things that are not in his best interest only because it feels like the right thing to do at the time ;   used to chasing the sand.  With tawny hair fluttering in a hot desert wind,  an arm round a woman he’s got no business so much as associating with,   &  yet !!

Dreams where a funny thing. He dreamt and sometimes didn’t think he should, a part of him that believed himself to be a thing of science and not nature. But why shouldn’t he? His brain worked just the same, and frankly better, than most ‘naturally born’ humans.

Bringing settlements to heel, surprisingly, isn’t that hard. What is difficult is hammering out the agreements between the new administration and the settlement’s leadership with regard to their entry into the Mojave Republic. Most of the time it’s settled after a few days of back and forth with the understanding that they are going to receive a great deal of money to build infrastructure in exchange for tithes to Vegas and submitting to the new law.

Vlad had just finished bringing Novac into the realm with a rather generous agreement to fortify the place, given its value as being a settlement right on one of the biggest thoroughfares towards Vegas. He’d stayed overnight and had departed from the settlement around fifteen minutes ago with his entourage. His group is composed of approximately a dozen securitrons. The robots all bear the usual soldier face of the standard fellows except for one, who has the smiling face of Vlad’s right hand man, Yes-Man. The man himself wore his power armor since it allows for him to travel much further without tiring and it gives an impression of power and intimidation. The Suit, which is a relic of the Enclave, has gone through a fair bit of customization. The power armor is painted in a orange and tan camouflage pattern with a cloak of deathclaw hide thrown on top as just another show of power and influence.

The securitrons sometimes peel off of the convoy to investigate something. normally they return immediately after having found that whatever tripped their sensors had actually been nothing important. However, with one, it actually pauses for one moment, before Yes-Man flickers over to that one to see what’s happening. After another moment he calls out to his boss. “Heyo, boss, you might want to take a look at this. This is just a liiitle bit out of my wheelhouse.” He accompanies this with a gesture downwards towards whatever he’d found.
