This costume with applied bow details was likely created by Julie Harris for the 1987 television movie A Hazard of Hearts, where it made its debut on Fiona Fullerton as Lady Isabel Gillingham. It was most recently seen, after more than 36 years, in 2023, in the third season of Sanditon, where Alice Orr-Ewing wore it as Lady Lydia Montrose.

Out of all the Alice in Wonderland adaptations, the 1972 version is my favorite in terms of Alice's, Lorina's, and Edith's designs (the actresses and the dresses). I will admit that it's a wasted opportunity for the sisters to follow Alice into Wonderland.

Here's a question: What is your headcanon of Lorina and Edith if they were to fall down the rabbit hole with their dresses billowing up like parachutes like in the Disney version? I bet the three sisters would be together stuck in the chimney section.

I absolutely love Fiona Fullerton as Alice! Although she is noticeably older than the age Alice is supposed to be (although most actresses who play Alice are indeed older; even Kathryn Beaumont is more like a pre-teen than the young girl Alice was in the book) she well captures Alice's curiosity, spunk and intelligence. And as sometimes I think it would be nice for Alice to have a romantic interest, Fullerton looks old enough where it could be realistic for Alice to find one!

My head canon of Alice and her sisters? Well, I think Alice's younger sister would have a blast floating down the hole while her older sister might panic for a while until it dawns on her that she's not going to die. I don't think all three of them would get stuck in the rabbit hole. If the rabbit hole is really a dream creation, it could expand to fit all three of them if all three sisters shared the same dream of Wonderland. Although if all three did get stuck in the chimney, it would be fun to watch the sisters try to work out a way to get free.
