(Not trying to attack anyone, I really enjoy reading everyone opinions so I’m just sharing mine)

Okay so I’ve just finished it and honestly I don’t see what everyone is complaining about. Ive seen people saying Annabeth thinks Percy is dumb but all she said was she doesn’t give him enough credit, you can think someone is smart and still be surprised by their solutions. I think we need to acknowledge that Percy is an unreliable narrator, he is an insecure teenaged boy and his inner dialogue does not accurately represent the thoughts and feelings of the people around him.

I also see people saying that Percy doesnt like being called seaweed brain, and have been saying that it shows their relationship in a negative light. But Percy only complains about being called seaweed brain when its by the eels, we already know from his reaction to Thalia calling him this nickname in ttc that he is only okay with Annabeth using it. The only thing that could imply that He doesn’t like it from Annabeth is when he says “seaweed brain is bad enough” which 100% reads as sarcasm.

I don’t know I feel like, some people have gotten so used to seeing them in fanon that they have forgotten what cannons like, some people are just looking for things to complain about because it no longer feels the same as it did when reading the original series, and some people are simply seeing things differently than when we read these books as kids.

That having been said there were definitely a lot of issues with this book I just feel like people are obsessing over the ship when for me at least it was a highlight.

i've said it before and i'll say it again: I absolutely love hearing non-finnish people scream these finnish lyrics at gigs I love hearing everone's accents and knowing most of these people didn't know any finnish only a year ago but here they are screaming their lungs out in finnish and I will never stop getting emotional over it

My serious musical!Utterson headcanon that is actually somewhat based on the script (namely, the fact that the character literally only exists in relation to Jekyll, even more so than Emma and Lucy):

The love that Utterson feels towards Jekyll is very obsessive, unhealthy and generally unhappy in nature. He lets Jekyll and all his bullshit live in his head rent-free 24/7 and is unable (maybe also unwilling?) to evict him – or to say no to him whenever Jekyll wants to involve him in said bullshit, for that matter. He's been harboring that love/obsession for a long time, and in some ways, he's almost grown to detest Jekyll for inspiring such emotions in him.

Of course, the real reason Utterson's whole existence seems to revolve around Jekyll is simply because he's written as a plot device, not as a 3D character – but for a Watsonian interpretation, I like to think it stems from Utterson having some rather dark obsessive tendencies, even if he's quite adept at hiding them.

If he got that sippy of HJ7 I was posting about earlier, after decking Jekyll, maybe he'd go on some insane Frollo-style tirade about how Jekyll is ruining his life by forcing him to love him or whatever.

i get why ppl are displeased with mtkachuks continous presence on tv and media and i see people talking about various reasons but i think you guys are forgetting one very obvious and simple fact. he literally won the cup last season. so obviously they are gonna be parading him around what did you guys expect. and yes it helps that he has a big personality and is objectively charismatic and sociable. also furthermore this isn't new, i definitely remember people saying for a while how he was a great ambassador for hockey for people who don't follow the sport (exhibit a: him on nba on tnt during scp23). and then when you couple this with team usa not having a face rn like it makes total sense even if you don't like him
