anyways the projects i have next are :

1 my sisters blanket (is halfway done)

2 the skirt (idk how many rows this’ll take so im gonna do 50 for now)

3 the tablerunner (is halfway done)

once i finish the tablerunner im gonna finish the skirt. then its onto the next ‘set’ of projects i wanted to finish this year 👍😌✌️

#other #t talks #ive been finishing all my projects later than i wanted #but im still on track to finish all but one of them this year #i want to finish these 3 projects this month #so i have 2 months to finish the lace shirt n the striped blanket #regardless of if i finish the blanket or any of these projects i will need to start The Beast tm starting july if i want to finish it -#finish it this year.#ive also started a cardigan n a second sweater. but they only get worked on when im ahead of schedule #im also gonna cast on some socks n a tank top. but those are also only for when im ahead of schedule #which will be easier once july hits #since the goal is to only do 2 rows of The Beast tm a day. so ill be able to catch up on whatever i didnt finish on time as well #and the side projects #but im trying to get these current set of projects done early cause i wanna make that tank top Before winter lol #if that doesnt happen tho then eh. as long as i finish the goal projects then im happy

#I'd rather not clutter the caption so I'll ramble a little in the tags #HitW is short but special to me as it represents and encapsulates some hard life experiences I was going through at the time of its creatio #Ofc in a more metaphorical manner! but. I have been very much enjoying reading people's comments and speculation as its been posting #the interpretations are so meaningful and varied and i love that and really want to encourage anyone to reflect on what it means to them #for me making this comic was a way to process and move past trauma. i feel like it ends anti-climactically but i wanted to be true to #where i thought things were actually going in my life moreso than to veer towards impact. ultimately im glad i managed to finish it #and for it to finish going public right before the new year? maybe i can see this as shedding that old pain in time to become something new #so thank you for reading for supporting and for still being here. lets wake up to 2025 with wind in our sails #Home in the Woods #my art #my comics #original comic #cw guns #cw blood #cw body horror

"I should draw Māori Miku!" I said to myself. "Just a fun sketch, it shouldn't take me long" I said to myself. Six hours later I come to with this in front of me and a wrist begging for mercy but holy fuck worth it. I love this trend this was so much fun

DISCLAIMERS AND NOTES ETC.... I'm Pākehā, meaning I am not of Māori descent. I hold so much respect for Māori people, for their values and traditions, and for the fierce pride with which kapa haka is performed. I thought if I was going to design a Māori Miku, it makes sense to dress her in a kapa haka kākahu, as her whole thing is singing and dancing!!! The moko kauae is not based off any real person's. I referenced the temporary moko kauae a lot of kapa haka performers wear!! Was tricky finding out whether or not depicting her with a moko kauae was a good idea, so I went the safe route- showing an aspect of Māori culture without stepping over any boundaries!! Brown eyed Miku is everything to me shout out brown eyed Miku.... I referenced like seven different outfits to put hers together!! I really hope this looks accurate or at least passable. Thanks to adorkastock for the pose ref!!
