6. Episode of tv or webisode that defined the year for you? hmmmm I guess I simply have to be honest with myself and say that it was: hbo Perry Mason s2e7. An hour of my guys beating each other up, throwing up about it, lighting each other's cigarettes, jumping off boats together, piecing together crimes, and standing too close to each other for no good reason. After a season of being worried about what those writers were doing to receive an hour of 'we're back we're so back' was huge. and hbo perry mason lives rent free in my brain forever now so It's either that, or the episode of GIRLS where marnie and hannah realize desi has been on drugs the entire time they've known him

18. A memorable meal this year? as previously mentioned, I went to Japan this year and while I was there I did an udon making class that ended in eating all the udon we made. It was so fun and so delicious, and I ate like idk 5 bowls.

21. What’s something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year? I've done a ton of real decorating between the start of the year and now! Got some new art prints, framed them, hung them, and am very happy with the cozy clutter of my room now. I also have gotten a new bedspread that's very William Morris in design, and that's been a mainstay for the back half of the year.

and one for me: 19. What’re you excited about for next year? I AM moving to LA to get my life moving again and I HAVE to be excited about that!! This year I quit a shitty corporate job that didn't value me and spent most of the year doing lowkey retail work that I've really enjoyed. But now I'm ready to try and get my career on track again (in a museum hopefully!), in a city that I think will be fun for me, where I have friends, and where there are lots of movie theaters. I'm excited about making a big change and hoping to land someplace good :)

The amount of wind and solar power under construction in China is now nearly twice as much as the rest of the world combined, a report has found. Research published on Thursday by Global Energy Monitor (GEM), an NGO, found that China has 180 gigawatts (GW) of utility-scale solar power under construction and 15GW of wind power. That brings the total of wind and solar power under construction to 339GW, well ahead of the 40GW under construction in the US. The researchers only looked at solar farms with a capacity of 20MW or more, which feed directly into the grid. That means that the total volume of solar power in China could be much higher, as small scale solar farms account for about 40% of China’s solar capacity.

hhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I love a tragic doomed romance, we know from the beginning that she divorced him because the dad at the party mentioned alimony for why he’s performing at kid’s birthday parties

and then we ACTUALLY meet her their interactions are so sweet but also there’s a sense of foreboding because she of the look she makes when presenting the idea of him being the face of vault-tec and

gaaaaaaaaaah

I believe that she wanted to do what was best for her family, so much so that she was willing to end the world if it meant getting into a good vault

I don’t think Barb is an evil person. I think she was a scared person. It seemed like the end of the world was right at their doorstep, she already experienced first hand the worry of someone she loves going off to fight in the sino-american war.

then she got into a company that was offering a solution and it seemed like a wonderful thing she could invest in. So she rose through the ranks to secure a future for her family in a time when the future was so ambiguous and terrifying.

by the time Vault-Tec was in full swing she was in a high position, she drank the cool aid and her main focus was on protecting her family, no matter what.

I think in a desperate effort to protect her family from annihilation, she became the very driving force that destroyed the world.

there’s so much beauty in that, burning the world for the people you love.

i know astarion's attitude towards sex is all due to his trauma but. listen. there are some aspects of his romance and experiences that can be so relatable as a sex-neutral or sex-averse ace person. in fact him being ace or acespec on top of the trauma makes him even more compelling and tragic to me. it would've been amazing and interesting if he'd been canonically ace and these aspects plus how his asexuality affected his traumatic sexual experiences had been explored as well
