Dude I need claws SO bad. Except I need prosthetics to be really sturdy, so I can actually like. Use them for shit. Like I wanna be able to wear them to help me climb or claw at stuff or whatever I need them for. But people only make like plastic or foam or resin claws. It's not STRONG enough. I need like. IRON claws. STEEL claws. Claws I can climb trees and rock faces with. Claws that could kill a man if I wanted them to. It's a fucking TRAGEDY these aren't a thing, and I swear to God I'm about to learn metalworking just so I can make myself a suitable set.
#i saw ONE set of metal clawrings online ONCE. except they aren't made by the company anymore and when i asked them about it they only had-#-like four individual rings in the back#INCREDIBLY sad about that actually#anyway. i need to work on my plans for these claws. if i do i'll post them#i'd like them to be long and sharp (obviously)#and be situated in a way where they won't come off. either under the first phalange or at the base of the finger so i can grip them#and a groove to slot my finger into so it's comfy and doesn't dig into my skin or nails. this is important because i have sensory issues-#-with my nails#and then from there... idk just a nice ring design that'll stay comfy through all uses#and have the metal be sturdy enough to. one. not bend. and two. not break.#bonus points if i allow space to sharpen the clawtips ofc#augh#anyway#dragonfire.#whispers.#dragonkin#nonhuman#otherkin#dragon therian

i love sincerely love working with dungeon meshi's magic system and the way mana sickness is depicted, like it has the breadth and scope for some truly powerful and wacky fun shit, but you can also easily bring down the hammer when you want to put the characters in difficult situations they can't get out of without a little creativity. i found when writing for baldur's gate 3 that, unless i was in a modified setting, i was hard-pressed thinking up fun ways for characters to solve their problems without just using magic, especially for the small things. i mean, what fun is throwing a character into a river and needing to warm them up when you can just cast prestidigitation?? it's one of the first things a novice can learn and also it's a cantrip, it literally costs nothing!
#dungeon meshi#not that im thinking of throwing anyone into a river or anything 👀#but like for example i was reading this one fic where character A had gotten injured in a fight and there was blood everywhere#and they needed to hide the mess from character B for angst reasons#and i thought 'ooooohh character A isn't going to get it cleaned up fast enough and character B is going to find the blood#but then i remembered oh ya ... character A can just clean it all away with a snap of their fingers#and it took the wind right out of my sails haha#i suppose that's just a gale girlie problem tho 🥺#that moment in the sick fic where kabru had to debate if it was worth it to dry off his shirt#like i loved having the opportunity to write him running a cost benefit analysis like that haha#dm isn't like the first series to equate depleted mana as fatigue or anything and forgotten realms has spell slots#but idk the way mana sickness is depicted just really works for me#especially having healing potentially hurting just as bad as the injury itself that FUCKS and idk if i've ever seen that before 🤔#side note this is also why the magic system in hunter x hunter is one of the best in any piece of media ever

i wish i could isolate and chemically synthesize the distain i feel when i see when i see a twitter addict meme post about their gacha of choice's deep lore. I'm sure i could make a milly off the patent
#childish isnt the word but theres a sincere believe that the slot machine has some of the most indepth and best story of all time because#there happens to be a lot of it#if it were well written it wouldnt be delivered to you via text boxes in a gacha game.#i think im a proponent of integrity of the method of delivery when it comes to narative#medium is the message and whatnot#its hard for me to take any deep themes seriously when you're constantly jangling keys and strobelights around#this is a 20 minute cool down thought but gacha stories are always so strung along because there cannot be an end or definitive conclusion#because that would impede the slot machines ability to extract value from its user base#im talking in an empty room here but w/e#id trade at least 4 fingers for a permanent buff to global media literacy especially regarding narrative structure with regard to commercia#intent.#at the end of it what pisses me off the most isnt the naratives themselves but the unaware consumption of what they actually designed to do

#personal#it's so. versatile as a storytelling device and just as like. extension of yourself. there's so many things you can do with it#obviously there's the weaponry cybernetics like the mantis blades gorilla arms etc which already fucks on its own#because you can combine it with your oc's fighting style... like reid has a single mantis blade and a monowire#and he combines the two to land sickass combos in combat and it's FUN#then there's sooooo many options for medical cyberware but at the same time there's the whole cyberpsychosis risk that has to be#taken into account for stuff like that. but also you can think about how that would set in and how it can be prevented and all#cassidy has a lot of cybernetic bones to replace his own because a lot of them got shattered in a very bad accident he was in#mikhail has a spine replacement and protective plating to strengthen it#there's the obvious use of prosthetics but also think of like. implants and more invisible pieces of cyberware that could be#used to like. relieve or even get rid of [chronic] pain [that the user would otherwise have]#there's the whole intimacy of the personal link... being able to connect yourself to others and whatnot#i loooove thinking of like. people going through information on a datashard together by having one of them plug it in#and then the other person connecting through personal link to see the information too#or just the act of slotting in a datashard for someone else. waaahhhh#letting your friends give you decorative cyberware how some people would let their friends give them tattoos...#the process of taking care of newly set cyberware to make sure the part of your body around it doesn't go numb etc etc#and then if it's cyberware with open parts or whatever you can STICK YOUR FINGERS IN IT!#dev has the chest cavity thing with the wires. you can put your fingers in that. he would like it#beckett has the maw. when it's closed there's the one cybernetic line and guess what? you can put your fingers in that#and he would like it#anyway i can probably say more because this is definitely not everything that i'm thinking of but also my brain zoomed out#but like. do you understand me
