Is is gonna be similar to another ask I got. But first some random Hc’s that I don’t think go together with the story I wrote but still is fun to think about.

- Hylians could gain the abilities to have magic through other means. Hyrule, himself, being an example of that. While I am all up for half fae Hyrule, but Changeling Hyrule, and Battle Mage Hyrule is also up there. Either way how ever you look at it, Reader and Hyrule are 100% covering each other’s backs.

- If Reader is bad with healing, I am going to assume they can do more specialized magic like defense up, shielding, etc. Not actually healing but it’s still something. I imagine that Reader and Hyrule are like a sword and shield combo, though who is who is ether or as you can shield the both of you and he can heal.

- Imagine if Hyrule was the one that taught you the fairy spell? You are just more adventurous with messing with it to change your height so it can stay the same. You guys just teach each other since you’re the only two that know how to even do magic in the first place. These are just some idea’s though. If Reader was half-fae they would probably already be able to do it and can teach him too.

When your mother, Great Fairy Mija, offered your help to the Champion on his latest adventure. You didn’t expect much to come from it, nor for Link to say yes in the first place but that was beside the point. Honestly it didn’t phase you to much that there was more Link’s in the group. If anything you had heard it before from other Great Fairies that a bunch of heroes have gotten together before. And you can assume it wont be the last time this was going to happen.

What you didn’t expect was how fast they clicked and adopted each other. Though living in a Fairy Fountain you were kinda used to quick adoptions, so it wasn’t a big deal just surprising.

You were a lot slower to integrate into the group as you weren’t a hero for courage so less predictable compared to all the Link’s. Which was fine as you knew the champion, now known as Wild, had the same issue with trusting people too.

So having eight more insane semi impulsive guys to befriend wasn’t too difficult. Especially when you did openly used magic to help them in battle though you made sure to get consent before hand. You heard the stories you heard what happened to some of them it is only fair. The Hero of Twilight and Legends you were especially careful around. Rather be safe than yelled at.

You quickly noticed that the traveler who was given the title of Hero of Hyrule, was similar to Wild. It felt easier to befriend him than anyone else. Which was fun. You, him and Wild typically tended to stay together as giving your home Era’s wandering was commonplace. Hyrule did tell you about his magic when healing was needed, “You’re half fae though.” The Vet pointed out as Hyrule took over bandaging the Captain. “Wouldn’t that be natural?”

The answer was actually longer than it needed to be but that wasn’t a story for now, “well. Yes, but no.” It was also convoluted to explain and honestly with the fight everyone just went through, again it was a story for another day. “The short of the answer is that I don’t have the ability to do it safely to others… or myself.” That only earned them a quizzical look but before the conversation could be continued it was side tracked. Which was good for you.

You would of explained once everyone was better and relatively settled as it was a weird and long explanation of Magic not really being something Hylians could do in the first place with out items. Of course there were acceptions, Princesses, Gifts from the Goddess, etc. You at least wanted to tell Hyrule what you knew as he seemed to get his magical abilities in an unnatural manner. There wasn’t a doubt in your mind that it was on purpose for him to find these things but, the guy literally held on to the triforce for years before secretly giving back to the princesses to hide it away.

Monsters are still after him for his blood after all.

The horror you felt when you heard him whisper that can be still felt to this day. “Why?” You asked.

“Because, thats where it was.” He whispers softly as you two walked through the path around the canyon heading into hebra mountain. The idea was to find Zelda who was near the stables waiting. Honestly there was a voice in the back of your mind that was telling you to go see your Aunt who was by Rito Village but that was probably a week trek out on foot.

“Still that magic isn’t really information that would typically be spread.” You commented offhandedly as thats not how blood magic worked. You think. It’s not like you tried. Forbidden magic is forbidden for a reason. “But Monsters are Monsters I guess.” You shrugged looking to the side into the snow. The path to hebra wasn’t the safest as it was the hardest reason.

“Well it just did…” You looked back at Hyrule there is slight movement in the snow. Unfortunately you couldn't get out the words "Lizalfos!" Before everything was in disarray.

It was quick to lose yourself in battle, but you tried to keep your calm as you fight back. Making sure that those who need it get their buff. Typically stronger people get defensive buffs, those who work better with speed gets a tad boost for that. You look to your left where Hyrule was.

Only to see him get pushed back loosing his footing. That alone made you dash forward as you feared the worse. The worse being what happened.

Hyrule fell into the Tanagar Canyon.

Just to spite that monster you sent a lighting spell his way before diving off the Canyon after the Hero. You reached out to grab him as you focused on your own magic again. Transforming your form slightly to a more natural state for you. Wing's sprouting behind you as you slowly pull him in your arms. You didn't know if you were strong enough to fly the both of you up. However you aimed for a better landing as you turn up and a slow descent.

It wasn't a soft landing but nether of you were hurt. "Are you ok?" you asked setting Hyrule down as you had to hold him a bit strangely.

"Yeah... Just surprised." He said calming his heart, he looks up at you "thank you." His gaze shifts up to the Canyon wall. "How do you think we can get up?"

"Uhhh..... Magic?" You suggest as you look at him. "You have that fae spell right?"

Hyrule made a face like he really didnt want the other to know about it "yeah... I guess."

"I can carry you in that form! Don't worry."

"That's... some how worse."

Redhook gets "Oldman with LORE" privileges

In response to a comment in the Mall Cavern post

Redhook, dispight living a fairly quiet life in Quietlong Cavern, keeps up to date with just about everything that's going on.

Especially since he used to be Will Shane's go-to for Blaster repairs/upgrades. Probably Jimmo Shane as well.

The Shane's probably chat with him as he worked, or more likely just talked, and Redhooked listened.

Because of this, Redhook knows the most off-kilter things ever, especially about Will and Jimmo.

Like Eli drops in because his baster trigger is acting up (and he just really wanted to see Redhook again for whatever reason).

And while he's there, poking at the dodads in the shop while Redhook works. Redhook just drops the most unhinged anecdotes about his dad and grate uncle with zero prompting or explanation.

"You know, your old man once spent an entire week in a Forest Cavern, on a stake out, and temporarily went feral for a bit," Redhook said, not looking up.

"He what -" Eli said, his head snapping to the older man, "Redhook, what do you mean my dad went 'feral'?! What happened? Redhook!"

Redhook also probably knew of Eli's existence before Will disappeared because he had two specially made blasters.

Will probably commissioned two, one for him and one for Eli, that he was going to give to his son after Eli had spent some time is Slugterra, but you know, he couldn't because he's in the Deep Caverns because Blakks a petty A-whole.

Redhook probably asked about why Will wanted two blasters even though Will doesn't dual wield, and more likely one was a backup.

And Will who subconsciously thinks about Redhook as a grizzled grandfather just blurts out.

"Ones for my son-" and Will immediately slaps a hand over his mouth, looking like a deer in headlights.

They just stare at each other for a good while, Will visibly panicking.

"Whats the kids' favorite color?" Redhook finally speaks.

And then years later Eli stumbled into his shop, and at first, Redhook is not convinced that Eli is Will's son, never mind the fact Eli lookes like an almost exact copy of the older Shane.

After that brat comes back in some hours later, more confident than ever, demanding a new blaster so he can protect Quietlong? Redhook finally sees that all to familiar fire, that was just a merger spark hours before.

And if Redhook has a white box with an orange star on it, full of unique balster mods set aside- he wasn't going to say anything. Not until the kid needs it someday. That's the Shane way after all.

Kaeya had always been passionate about the things he loves. Though, recently everything has been going much worse than before, it's like his path throughout life has become rocky, rather than ups and downs, it has really been down these past few days. He went out drinking more and more, constantly visiting his brother's tavern, chugging down beer down his throat hoping to wash down his foul feeling.

You understand what was Kaeya's feeling and you always have, you gave him time, time to think carefully and to rest his mind and body. Though you never expected it to come to this, you never expected it to become this bad; you felt sorry for him.

You tried to talk to him about it to at least help ease some of his foul feelings yet every time you do he just tells you

"I'm fine"

"I'm okay by myself"

"There's no need"

In such a tired tone, he always pushes you away. Why? Why didn't he want your help? Maybe he just wanted some time... But didn't you already give him a week? All these thoughts and questions run through your head all at the same time it's giving you a headache.

During his time at the tavern, he has encountered Rosaria multiple times in a row and yes, you have witnessed some of those times and nothing bad seems to be happening. After all those encounters with each other, Rosaria made the first move; starting the conversation first.

He knew Rosaria, a close friend of that he hasn't connected to in a long while.

"Hey, you alright?" Rosaria asks.

She looked down at the blue haired knight that had his head laying on the table, beer in hand.

"Hmm... no" Kaeya responds, his words coming out wobbly due to the alcohol.

Chats between Rosaria and Kaeya was pretty constant again, sharing small talk whenever they passed each other, talking during breaks... Of course you took notice and didn't seem to mind, I mean, they're friends after all. And they haven't talked to each other for a while so it's understandable.

It's been weeks and kaeya has started to feel better, more upright and was coming back to his usual smug personality. You were happy, proud even, but you felt a little... what do you call it? Jealous? No, that can't be right. You? Jealous of who?

Maybe it's because it was Rosaria that helped Kaeya more than you did, it's great that she helped but during those times, why did Kaeya only talk to Rosaria about it? Why not you? He always pushes you away but why not to Rosaria either? Is there something special about her? Questions are running through your mind again.

He's been out of the house recently too, often meeting up with Rosaria. At this point, you think he sees her more than you, could it be that he fell out of love? Too many questions and possibilities are in your mind, overthinking every little thing.

You decided to confront him during dinner.

"Kaeya.. is there something wrong?" You ask worryingly.

"Nothing's wrong. Why?" Kaya responds.

"It's just that uhm... You've been.. I don't know, distant?" You furrow your brows slightly as you speak.

"Distant, how?" Kaeya tilts his head.

You take a deep breath thinking about saying it or not.

"Do you not love me anymore?" You finally asked.

"What? Of course I love you, why did you think that?" Kaeya replies.

"You've been hanging out with Rosaria a lot too..." You fidget with your fingers.

"Ahh, I see now" He chuckled.

"Wanna know why?" Kaeya smiles.

You nod in reply, desperate for answers. You watched as he got up towards the calendar and pointed out your anniversary and.. oh it's today. Wait, it's today?

Kaeya goes to a cabinet and pulls out two boxes wrapped delicately, each of different colors with a ribbon wrapped around it like a bow, a letter on top of the two boxes.

"What's this?" You ask, inspecting the box.

"I wanted to make up for all the things you did for me" Kaeya smiles softly.

The letter contained 3 paragraphs about his undying love for you, alongside a kiss mark on the bottom.

"I needed some help so I went to Rosaria" He explains.

You open the boxes, careful not to damage it. The 1st box contains a silver/gold (what color you want) necklace below a tulip, the necklace has your birthstone as it's pendant, shaped into a heart, your name and Kaeya's was faintly sketched onto the back of the pendant.

2nd box contained earrings that matched the necklace, right below a rose.

"Wow... I.." You were left utterly speechless.

Now you were the one feeling guilty, especially since it's your anniversary and you don't have nothing for him

"Don't worry about your gift, you being here is enough" Kaeya brings you into a tight, warm embrace.

So as I said im obsessed with the von Krolocks being hungarians so I'm gonna share my best hc names for Count von Krolock

And just to be clear I love the Breda von Krolock headcanon but during the time period he was born hungarians and székelyek (hungarian ethnicity) were the ones in position of power so its more likely he was hungarian than romanian

So anyways my top 5ish names for him

#6-Bánk von Krolock: (for hungarians yes as a reference to Bánk Bán) its from a hungarian origin and means Bán (wich was kinda like a rank like a count) it just rolls nicely off the tounge and because we only know him as Count von Krolock its funny if he was just named after another rank)

#5- Előd von Krolock: Another name of hungarian origin. It meand "First" but has been interpreted as "Beginning" which is kinda fitting if we see him as the beginning of this whole vampire thing. Also means "ancestor".

#4- Holló von Krolock: Holló literally means Raven. Sounds Gothic, thats all.

#3- Táltos von Krolock: also hungarian origins, means "Possessing magical abilities" and it comes from the word táltos who were basically prophets of the old hungarian religion (before christianity) who were doctors, prophets and other religious roles. They werent taught, instead "called" to this role. Which goes nicely with Krolocks seemingly magical abilities like teleporting during the songs (or running really fast) and how he refers to himself as a mage during songs (mostly trying to very (not) subtly rizz up Alfred)

#2- Lehel von Krolock: Hungarian origin, comes from the old name "Lél". It probably means "soul" and that kinda explains why I picked it no?

#1- Vajk von Krolock: Look it just sounds nice. Also old hungarian name, originally the name of Saint Stephen before he got baptised. And the meaning is "rich" and "plentiful".

But hear me out. Some people say Vajk originates from the name Bajik which means "Righteous man" Ironic.

-Ok so. Bc the twilight travels rift (that’s the name right??? The twigoat statue/bell one? That) has the three colored bells/statues (red blue and yellow) my thought was the bell might have been made by three people? -Accession/twilight spirits are essentially like the opposite of ghosts !! Even though they look similar I think they are actually more similar to mj, in that they still have their bodies. But for twi spirits it’s because they are basically frozen/immortal and NOT dead. As I said they are opposites, life and death and all that. The way they form is the same as corruption BUT the difference is they are calm/control their emotion/can accept the magic from their soul, where as corruption is rejecting it/being overwhelmed by it. I think a good example of this is in the prologue it was shown that snatcher makes flowers/plants wilt but twilight spirits have their whole flower thing going on yk? You get the idea

-the alps and subcon I think would be close/trade often!! (I think this got mentioned in the prologue Iirc?)

-Delilah’s mothers side of her family live in alpine while her fathers side of the family lives in subcon, hence she vaguely mentions it in fic a few times (but I also think she also clumped lotus in with her family too but more so to use as an excuse to not be super detailed abt her alp trips) (oh yeah uh if u don’t know Lotus is my TG follower twilight spirit goat oc who is dels guardian! :3)

-the bell isn’t supposed to ACTUALLY lead to the twilight realm, it’s more so meant to just a window/peek at what it’s like, …meant being the key word here (hence Hattie’s in game diary mentioning she thinks she wasn’t supposed to be there) probably gonna slip in some lore about it being under a spell/enchantment of some kind? Maybe only people tied to magic or the twilights specifically can enter, weither it be literal as in knowing TG/Lotus or following them, or more metaphorically like hat being from space counted her? Shrugs I’ll think on it a little more later ig all I know is if you got magic or ties to it you can go to the astral plane directly yayyyy :3👍 fun!!! -twigoat religion/following is based more so on Buddhism/concepts of nirvana in my head, like there isn’t an underworld or hell or anything it’s all just one place, but TG isn’t actually a god or anything it’s like the game lore they were just a regular mortal goat who decided to protect the astral plane/watch over it after becoming a twilight spirit/traveling to the bell.

-Design detail is all twilight followers wear silver bells! :3 but NOT gold bc that’s basically saying they are doing it wrong/don’t care. (Examples of this: TG, Lotus, Dels, shady sunburnt, Rei (gold), shapes later/timeskip specifically for a different twilight character later that I’m not spoiling rn, and also party crasher has gold bells but not so much for twilight lore reasons but changeling council lore reasons which I’m not spoiling here sorry womp womp)

-I feel like believing in the twilight realm VS following the twilight goat are like separate things? Just bc the actual astral plane is a concept while TG is a person/religious figure so like most characters would know of or believe in the astral plane but not all of those characters actually follow TG youknow? Having proof of an afterlife basically means beleif in that plane isn’t part of the religion but following the religions morals/teachings IS if that makes sense???? hopefully u get the idea.. lol

Answering these for Nyenna, Teldryn and Athis (: This will be a long one, I'm sure.

(Yes there are hc things in here about the world in general.)

LEARNING– What are they interesting in learning about, if anything? What hobbies and skills do they have? Do they know how to make themselves happy?

Nyenna is always busy learning something. Anything, really. She spends a lot of time reading and studying. Mostly magic and mage things. I think her encounter with the vampires early on in her adventure solidified for her that she'd been given another opportunity and it would do not to waste it this time. That said, her destiny crashing down around her ears did sort of put a damper on the whole thing. There's not a ton of time to study for the sake of it. It's more efficient if the work goes toward something.

Besides her professional studiousness, she's got a few skills she picked up from her time in Valenwood. School was different for young noble women than one would expect. First of all, mostly only noble families got any type of formal schooling to begin with -- excepting of course folks that paid for or were invited to attend the College of Winterhold or other such institutions -- and the curriculum was dictated by the Aldmeri Dominion by the time Nyenna would have to go through it. There she'd learn things like fine arts, music, dance, culinary arts, needlecraft and things of that nature alongside other coursework. These carried over as hobbies just out of habit, though she really does enjoy cooking. She also repaired a lot of the broken down bits of Breezehome with the help of her friends, so home improvement is a hobby now, too (:

She's in the process of learning once again that she is worthy of happiness. She'd found glimpses of it in the past, tiny moments of care in the chaos of her flight with Eris out of Haven. When she settled in Whiterun, or tried to, she thought she was doing all she could to be happy and have a good, calm life. Things aren't always so simple, of course. These days, even if things are difficult and overwhelming, she does have friends who have her back and remind her to laugh. And she does tend to read just because whenever she has a few seconds of quiet.

Teldryn has had ample time at this point to learn whatever the hell he wanted. Did he? Well. That's debatable. He is, though, quite a good spellsword. He doesn't acquire new magic quite as quickly or easily as Nyenna does, but he does ask her for spells now and again. When he tries to rush things and doesn't practice enough, his spells will do funny things -- usually mild backfires, or if he hasn't quite pulled enough Magicka, the effect will much smaller than intended. It takes a bit for him to really get a spell without injuring himself. But he does like to learn things. He's got a lot of now-illegal spells pretty much mastered. Sometimes he'll use them if there aren't guards around, but it's much more fun to learn from Nyenna and annoy her in the process.

He doesn't necessarily let himself have time for true hobbies, even when he was waiting in the ghost town of Raven Rock for a patron, he was fully convinced someone would walk through the door at any second. One could say he's pretty good at fishing and hunting and all that, but that's just another set of survival skills, really, more than a hobby. He's an alright storyteller, too! He's lived through quite a lot, and he does love to brag about it on occasion, especially if he doesn't need to talk specifically about certain traumatic events and can embellish the truth just a bit for entertainment purposes. All this aside, he doesn't care how bad he'll be at it, but regardless he wants to learn woodcarving by the time of the present day timeline in the fic. Not for any particular reason, really, or to be considered skilled at it or anything. He's settling in Riverwood, and that's a saw mill town. Plenty of scrap to practice on, right? Practical and inexpensive, in that case, as far as hobbies go.

He's also in the process of learning how to let himself be happy. He's a man of many mistakes. No matter how many years pass, there's things he'll just step right into without thinking. He's had to learn certain lessons more than once and even in the present day timeline of the fic, he's definitely gotten into a little bit more trouble than perhaps originally intended. That said, considering the circumstances and the fact that he's found someone who does actually love him, his happiness is looking toward building a future. He didn't believe he'd get the chance, no matter how long he lived before. And things have changed for the better, despite the chaos along the way.

Athis is the kind of person who thinks he's already in his version of success. He's confident he's learned about as much as he needs to be comfortable. He doesn't particularly put forth a lot of effort to learn anything new. He doesn't mind listening to Nyenna ramble on about magic or Alchemy things, but none of it really interests him enough to pursue. Magic is difficult. He messes up the words and stuff. Alchemy is complicated and difficult to memorize. He likes simple. Battle is simple. He knows this well. He doesn't feel particularly inclined to learn much more, but would rather practice what he knows best.

As for hobbies, he's not one of those kinds, either. If he had to pick, it might be that just by virtue of spending so much time with Nyenna, he is getting better at cooking, though nowhere near as good at it as she is. He spends a lot of his leisure time trying to outdo Farkas and Vilkas at creating new drinking songs. He's not a gifted singer, really, but he can be clever when he puts his mind to it for song.

He also thought he had been happy after meeting and then marrying Nyenna. He thought he could live a full comfortable life, and come home from work every day and be content. Destiny had other plans for them. He's spent quite a lot of time now contemplating what this means for him now and what happiness could look like in her absence. He's learning there can't be only one solution, albeit slowly. Broken-hearted or otherwise, he's trying to pick the pieces back up from the disaster fate caused. He wants to be happy, at least, he just needs to find it within himself.

MEANING– Where do they believe they fit in the world around them? What provides them comfort? Do they think about their daily life and routine? Are they satisfied?

Nyenna has been, of course, told what her place is in this world more than once. First, as a noble daughter meant to unite houses. Next as a fugitive, meant to be a prisoner or worse. Last as a hero, meant to heft the weight of the world on her shoulders. She has always struggled believing she had a place at all. But now, especially the more dragon souls she absorbs, the more she realizes she's the only one powerful enough stop this particular disaster. She very much wants the heroics to be done with so she can finally decide for herself how she wants her life to go.

She had a version of comfort and routine at home in Whiterun briefly, but of course that had been taken from her as quickly as she gained it due to destiny. These days, there's at least someone who understands her on a completely different level who tends to say just the right thing to bring her back up out of a spiral. She didn't expect this -- to find comfort again after being so overwhelmed, and realizing too slowly that life as she had intended it to be would no longer be enough.

The last part is a bit of a trick question, isn't it? How can one be satisfied when they are the other half of a dragon soul? When they are a hero? Does she want to settle? yes. But can she? a completely different story.

Teldryn has been questioning his place in the world for time out of mind at this point. He had thought he was carving out his own version of a place, from the second he decided to run away from the people who shipped him to Blacklight as a child. He couldn't seem to find an actual place for himself, especially at first. He'd been a bandit in Cyrodiil, moving wherever the money took him. When he got caught and shipped off to Vvardenfell like so much cargo and roped into the Nerevarine prophecies, it began to feel like a lifetime of manipulation. Like there was a place for him but he was kind of not the right shape to fit the space and someone kept molding him until he fit right. To this day he's not entirely sure how much was fate and how much was bullshit.

Comfort has more or less been kind of a funny, fleeting thing for him. For a long time, comfort was found in forgetting. But some things one simply can't forget, at least not without some form of self destruction. These days it's a little easier only because he's learning to let himself be loved regardless of the past, and has learned how to love more than just the idea of someone else. Home is a concept that didn't mean much before. But he figures now he can make a home anywhere his family wants to go.

Routine on the other hand? He likes to pretend that having a routine is for the well-adjusted. He likes to think his routine of sitting in the Netch and staring at the door was just a matter of being ever-vigilant about looking for work and not a routine at all.

Now asking about something so fleeting as satisfaction? He's got jokes, really, if you were to ask. Because he doesn't want to admit that, just like with other heroes, the destiny thing sort of calls to him always in the background. He's afraid that if he acknowledges this, he'll realize he's not actually shaken that restlessness that has become such an integral part of him. He does know, however, that he'll go wherever Nyenna will go for as long as she'll let him. And that's more than he could have asked for.

Athis firmly believes he'd already found his place in the world. He had become a good fighter. He refined his skills and put them to good use after so long simply using the skills to survive. He's the everyday sort of hero. The kind of person others can rely on to get them out of most non-mythical danger. All things considered, it's a pretty decent place to have in a world as grim as it is now.

Comfort is a priority to him. He'd escaped discomfort and carved out an average life for himself. And that was the extent of his goals. To live without the kind of suffering he had been mired in from a young age. He had loneliness, of course. He faced a lot of rejection and the sort of normal flings one would expect in such a setting really didn't cure any of that. He did sort of accept his lot in life, and opted not to fuss over it. And then he met Nyenna and the idea of actually settling down didn't seem like such a far off notion any longer. It was, for lack of better words, always a good day when she was around.

If one were to look up the word routine, a charcoal sketch of Athis would be on the page in lieu of a definition. He likes to believe if things stay much the same, then nothing can surprise him. Before everything, he loved his life. Even when he met Nyenna and things changed a bit, they fell into a routine together and it had been better than he was used to and he felt lucky. Routine is required for comfort in his mindset, and that's what he, as we mentioned, prioritizes.

Satisfaction on the other hand? He thought he had that at one point. That finally, he was immune to too much chaos. But of course, that wasn't the case. In the present day timeline of the fic, his entire worldview is shattered. All that he thought was guaranteed to stay the same has changed and/or been taken from him. He doesn't have a clue who he's supposed to be anymore. He's been feeling fairly stuck because he can't go back to how things used to be now that he'd seen the other side. But what is he going to do now? That's part of his major conflict. What is he going to do now? (:

General Opinion over said character: I love gray. XD i just want to eat up characters that have this need to self sacrifice born out of a deep feeling of guilt for something that wasn't really their fault. He is very serious and dumb at the same time. No braincells and all the brain cells. Sometimes he says something hot for no reason without realising and then is surprised that juvia likes him so much. Idiot, i love him

What would au Striker's background story be like?

I'm not too great at writing full alternative backstories, and the way I wrote the OG AU Striker Post, he could techinchally have the exact same backstory just with the difference Stella doesn't hire him, and he's genuinely working as a Ranch hand, not just as cover. So when Blitz offers him a job, he's happy to take it without any 'prior engagements" conflicting with that.

But considering we don't even know his canon backstory yet, guess nows a good as time as any for me to share my hc backstory for him, it's a bit sympathetic, and blurs his view on nobilty a little so I feel it works here.

Striker was born to pretty lower class family in wrath, with a good few siblings, which made money and food very tight for them even living on a farm, which he did his best to help out on. Dealing with a few snobby and self entitled demons when trying to sell crops for his family

During his teen years Striker happened to be the lucky demon (Or unlucky, he's unsure how to feel about it) to be summoned by a young warlock in a living world, despite being human, the young boy was very nice to Striker, not trying to force him at all, genuinely asking Striker if he'd like to be his bonded demon, after some explaining of what that meant Striker asked to return home to speak with his family, getting a little charm to come back if he wished.

His family encouraged him to take this chance, as the Warlock's family was well off and could take care of him, while the family stayed in Hell to keep the farm going, admitting that if one of their kids were taken care of, it'd be a bit of weight off their shoulders. Striker reluctantly agreed, not really wanting to leave but understanding, promsing to come back and visit when he could.

Despite not expecting that much of the Warlock, he quickly wormed his way into Striker's heart, and the two became inseparable friends, and while many of the human mages, called Striker nothing but a minion, the Warlock himself treated him as an equal and as a friend.

A few years passed and during a ritual to summon a demonic steed, the Warlock miscasted and summoned two Hellsteeds, since there were two of them, they agreed to keep them, and the Horse Striker chose of course became his beloved Bombproof.

Striker was pretty happy with his life, keeping his promise of visiting his family who seemed well everytime he did, he even showed off Bombproof and some of the skills he gained since he left, including gun and knife work.

At one point, after they had become adults, they had moved to a very rainy place in the world, and while the warlock was fine with it, since rain was very uncommon in Wrath, Striker was often annoyed about getting wet while going out, so the Warlock knitted him an enchanted hat, that absorbs water while staying dry, a hat he wears to this day.

Eventually, after the warlock's long time lover died tragically, the warlock fell into a drunken depression, which while Striker tried his best support him softly through, Striker eventually had it and forced him to stop in order to save his friend, who in a frustrated inhibtionless state, just held Striker close and cried.

The two eventually realized they had feelings for each other beyond friendship, but in the somewhat conservative society they lived in, the Warlock insisted on hiding any attempts to explore that, and while Striker reluctantly agreed to it, it made him start to resent the secrecy.

Eventually that boiled over into feeling ignored, and not worth enough to the warlock, for him to risk rejection for loving him, A feeling that Striker bottled up until he couldn't take it and broke up with him, telling the Warlock to send him back to hell and that their partnership was done, while not explaining why.

The heartbroken warlock agreed, even if he wanted to know what happened, still caring about Striker, and sent Striker and Bombproof back to hell with a solemn goodbye that Striker didn't respond to as he left.

However Hell didn't hold much good to return to, Striker finding his famlie's farm now run by a Goetia and his workers, and when inquiring what happened to the old owners, he tracked them down to a small cabin only find his entire family dead of starvation, rotting in that small cabin that noone noticed.

After burying his lost family, he learned the Goetian lord who took their farm, had essentially driven them off it, not even giving them a penny or a bit of the grain they worked so hard to nourish, having just let them die.

Incredibly jaded and angry at how cruel the world treated his family, blaming himself a little for not being there to help. Striker started taking hitman jobs at night, which he could handle due to his knife and gun skills, having a vendetta with royals and nobles, for how they ignored and cruelly treated people like him.

He eventually got the ranch hand job, as a somewhat calmer day job that reminded him of his youth on the farm, where he eventually encountered a fun little gang of Imps, and was offered a full time assassin gig by their boss, deciding to take it, thinking some time out of wrath would do him some good. Maybe some happiness still awaits him...?

Hey, I left a lot out of that, mainly to do with the Warlock since I wanted to focus on our favorite cowboy. Hope it wasn't too disturbing, I just felt there must be a pretty big loss/trauma in order to jade Striker against Royals, and don't worry, with the AU I want good things for him ^^ Hope that was good!

urnungal . he is often confused for staff because he likes to wear modern clothes, he still wears a lot of gold & lapis lazuli though so that's a give away he is one of the servants ( that & those red eyes he has ) . it's not too rare to find his teen / singularity version near by.

emer . always a busy bee, she is really good at coordinating things & prepping stuff . if she isn't helping the staff she is most likely cooking for them, making healing potions for the master or what not . how stressed she is, is indicated by her hounds . if they sleep peacefully by her side she is fine, just busy . if the dogs are nervous & more alert she is stressed .

dinadan . this is ofc depending on any interactions with masters but I'd like to think he was one of the first summons once the story starts - the throne of heroes just said 'here, you all look like you need someone to make you laugh' he keeps the mood up .

cassandra . technically she is no mage but the staff relies on her to help with sheba & any sort of predictions . it's a bit hard at times due to the curse but the other casters & staff are doing their best to figure out if it can be broken . she might even ask a certain sheep that follows little paris around to remove the curse . also due to working a lot with sheba & the staff she has become somewhat adapt with technology . ( she got really excited during one of the modern events when she got permission to send a virus via a trojan horse... )

1) What is their name, and how old are they? Does their name or birthday hold any significance?

Marian Amell, and she was only 18 at the start of DA:O. Since Marian is default f!Hawke’s name, I hc that it was the name of one of their shared great-grandmothers, and she was named after her. Birthday has no significance, really.

6) Do they have a preferred weapon they always use?

She probably stuck to a regular mage staff throughout the Blight, but with her second specialization being Arcane Warrior, she has picked up other weapons, favoring the bow.

2) What social class were they born into? How did it affect their upbringing?

She was born into nobility but it didn’t affect her life much, seeing how she was taken to the Fereldan Circle as a little child. In fact, she remained unaware of her heritage until well into her being the Warden-Commander, at which point it didn’t affect much either.

7) Did they ever work a normal, everyday job?

Not really. I figure she helped out in the infirmary before her Harrowing, but after that it was all warden life.

3) Which companions (or advisors) do they like to spend time with when they’re not travelling?

She was especially close with Leliana, Wynne, and Alistair at first, and it took a while, but she really warmed up to Zevran as well eventually. Unfortunately though, she eventually drifted apart with Wynne as Marian has developed differing views on the necessity of the Circles after having a taste of life outside, but she still looked up to her as a mentor in a way, with both of them being primarily healers. Her relationship with Alistair, unfortunately, also became a little strained as she has spared Loghain, and while that one she was able to somewhat mend over the years, her best friends were still Leliana and Zevran.

4) Are there any companions (or advisors) they don’t get along with? Have any of them ever left the party?

None of them left bc she was willing to deal with a lot for the cause, but she really disliked Oghren.

2) How do they feel about Templars and the Circle?

She spent her whole life up until her recruitment to the wardens with Irving and Wynne as her mentors, and thus was fully convinced that the Circles were needed. There were things that she made very uncomfortable, like people being made Tranquil or the attention from templars like Cullen, but she was young and didn’t know better, and so just kept blindly believing her elders. After leaving though, and spending time around mages like Morrigan, who was doing just fine without having a Circle education, and not being in risk of possession once while out and about in the world, she started questioning her prior beliefs more and more, eventually deciding that Circles and Templars don’t work.

10) Are there any animals they have a particular love or hatred for?

She and Leliana share the love of nugs! Schmooples was essentially a family pet for them but stayed with Leliana after her mabari attempted to eat the poor nug once or twice.

Conversation I don’t understand

Starting off Context. We are discussing Hardcore World of Warcraft ruleset. There is a rule set built by the community that you have to follow to play the game mode and get a “validated” level 60 run. There is no Blizzard official servers as of yet. 

Ok so the acquaintance 

(A) starts off with asking me if I wanted to duo. "or full party?" 

 Me: mention only duo/trios are allowed. 

A: Well then by full I mean 3 

Me: Official servers I doubt will have grouping restrictions 

A: Although thats fucking stupid. Yeah official wont restrict it, coz its fucking dumb. 

Me: but under current rules you can't group unless you enter in a name for duo/trio at level 1 

A: Also yes I saw the rules 

Me:  i mean a full HC party would be able to just blast everything no challenge 

A:  the game is literally made with the idea around a full party playing the whole game. that was like the whole concept of mmos at the time. 

Me:  ehhh only for group content like elite quest and dungeons. I enjoy my solo gameplay while leveling tbh. the one thing i hate about the non grouping thing is for named mob tags 

A:  it was after that they were like oh this kinda sucks ass for solo players and slowly rebuilt the game around it.  it was made that way coz they thought people would be running in packs of 4-5 

Me: i mean they changed it later to just allow anyone who damages a mob gets credit. implementing that in HC official wouldn't be a terrible change. 

A: all im saying is that being like "full group too ez" is dumb. but so is banning bubble hearthing

Me: i've seen people level entirely from quest and grinding.I personally just hate spamming the same dungeons over and over though. i'd rather quest.i did that on classic release with friends cause it was "meta" (dungeon spam).spamming dungeons makes me wanna drink, I hate it so much. 

 A: wot im saying is that it was an option that was put in from the start as a mechnic of the game and it makes no sense to ban or restrict its use. like you can still level to max as a mage in 4 days hardcore none of these rules stop that? (spams ???).  but dungeons make the content to easy?

All of this, jep. And if I can add more to that list:

- The non-resolution of Gale's Plotline if you don't play him as an origin. Like... there's one throwaway line that tells us nothing about what he's going to do with the crown.

- The entire plot of Gale in Act 3. Okay, you go find some book and Gale, who up to this point was beating himself up so hard for his fuckup with the orb suddenly turns into a full hubris wizard. The suddenness of the shift made me think I missed something. One minute he is willing to die for Mystra's forgiveness. The next he is like: 'I'm gonna become a god and then no one will be able to keep me down". (Also, you find this book in some basement. It feels like there should have been a dungeon here. Maybe the book could have been in like... a tower... from a.. mage... A mage who is an ashole and may sway Gale to be an asshole too... you know, just an idea...)

- Raphael's Deal: This guy comes in Act 1 and is like: I'm going to make you a deal that you can't refuse You'll come crawling to me for it *evil laugh*. And then it's... the Orphic Hammer. Okay, I guess Lae'Zel wants it. But if you don't care about the Gythianki he has literally nothing to offer. (House of Hope was great though.)

- Op was right with Karlach and the scroll of true resurection but there are two more plothreads the game puts out there and then never truly resovles that I can think off: The Gondians and The House of Hope. First the Gondians: if you talk to a Steelwatcher with Karlach in your party, it will tell you outright that Karlach's heart is a defective prototype for the Steelwatchers. The Steelwatchers even drop infernal iron and refined infernal iron when you kill them. But even if you take Karlach with you to the Gondians, who build the Steelwatchers, it isn't even mentionned or acknowledged. You don't even have the possibility to ask them to take a look at Karlach's heart. It get's completely dropped.

And then we have the House of Hope. If you defeat Raphael and Hope is still alive, she'll take over the House and turn it into a sanctuary in the Hells. This time, the game at least let's you talk to Karlach about staying in the House of Hope and she refuses to stay here. This is fine, but it feels like the ending where you go with her into Avernus should have been going to the House of Hope because... it's the ending where you still Hope you can fix her...

(I also want to say Gortash could've probably fixed her. It's not hinted as a possibility in game but I do believe that it would be in character for him to use the fact that he can fix Karlach to manipulate Tav and Karlach into an alliance. This is pure speculation and hc on my part however.)

- The passage towards upper city is still highlighted. Why? In game it felt like a temporary restriction until you got the Netherstones. They could have just... not made it interactable or put a closed door?

- The pacing of the game is super wonky as a result of the cut content. Orin, Gortash and Ketheric get hinted at fairly early in Act 1 (as soon as you hear the voice of the absolute for the first time). And then nothing for the rest of Act 1, a tricle of information in Act 2 until the final reveal at the end of Act 2. Ketheric Thorm aside, you have only one Act left, a third of the game, to establish the motivations of the main villains, their characters, their actual plans and then defeat them. This means that you basically learn about them and then immediately kill them. Aside from Ketheric, you don't really have enough time to establish them as a threat.

- You kill Gortash, the Duke of BG and literally no one cares even a bit. Like... Orin... yeah, no one would care. She's a murderer in her murder temple. Gortash though?? Very important and beloved Gortash? No one even has a question about that?

- You blow up the Steelwatch and no one - not even Gortash cares? He continues to chill in his room. Sure, the Flaming Fist in Wyrm's Crossing attack you, I guess. But Gortash is... all considered, pretty chill about it...

- The controll the Elder Brain ending doesn't feel like a real ending and more like a 'I guess we have to put something in there for evil playthroughs?' It also provides even less resolutions to plotlines than the other one.

I love this game. And it never becomes bad, but you can feel the lack of polish of Act 3.

i love baldur's gate 3, truly i do. i find it one of the most wonderful games in recent times and the work that larian has done in trying to emulate a dnd-like video game is commendable bc they have done some good work with the lore and mechanics. but i really, really would like it if larian would for once in their goddamned fucking existence released a full game on launch day. i know games will always need patches to address some issues, but releasing info abt the upper city as a hub area weeks before release only to completely scrap the idea altogether? having NO ending, literally no actual epilogue or anything that adds to the story after the fight, just this random black screen and no proper epilogue? the half-baked encounters against orin and gortash after making them out to be on the same level ketheric's fight which actually felt like a boss? making dark urge this entire ~special origin story without actually allowing a player to do a true evil run without losing out on like 2/3 content? there is no punishment or reward for not taking/taking the tadpoles, it literally means nothing in the grand scheme of things. also for a multiplayer game, there's a resounding lack of actual story progression if you have all four slots covered, like it straight up locks you out of a lot of companions' stories bc you can never take them with you. this isn't even getting into the horrendous bugs and performance issues that straight up fry PCs by the end of the game. also adding fan service without any actual plot like - halsin's completely useless existence in act 3? also nonsense like gortash being lorded in the middle of wyrm's rock, the literal first fortress to the city that would not house the new lord of baldur's gate under any circumstance? gale starts the game with a TRUE RESURRECTION scroll that can be used to solve a myriad of problems, including, i dont know, curing karlach entirely by killing her then reviving her? having to go to cazador's palace through a random tower in the middle of the city? the emperor just deciding to abandon you and join the elder brain after spending years fighting its influence if you decide to go against him? like these are all unfinished parts to a "full" game. i still have nightmares from DOS2 and what a fucking mess that was and the fact that you need the "definitive edition" to make the final act work is straight up predatory... honestly fuck y'all for making ppl pay twice for the product they should have gotten the first time. anyway the game is great but larian needs a kick up the ass for some obvious bullshit that would not be tolerated if it were any other studio!
