Rain

It’s a quiet day. The snow falls calmly outside. I make coffee and read a book on the couch. I look out my window to see a moose with a young calf. I want more. I want someone to share it with. Greed. 

I wish I could go back to that moment and be content. I just ran outside to get my laundry. At my mom’s house it is a separate entrance to get into it. The rain falls harder than I have seen it in years. Like even the sky is screaming, demanding to be seen and heard. I walk quickly but it is dark and unfamiliar. Sirens blare from nearby. Too many, ten at least. We are close to New York City here. So far from the peace I had in Colorado for seven years. 

I am expecting to go clean out our home tomorrow. To sleep in the bed where so many nights I laid next to him. Even then though, I felt like we were thousands of miles apart. How unfair it feels to have to rip open this wound and discover so much. I found a jacket in my car (the car that won’t start today). I got it for him last Christmas. I put it in my laundry basket to wash. I went through the pockets as I always do. One receipt. $28.34. The liquor store down the street. I made the right choice. The rain picks up and a neighbor waves as they walk by. The tears streaming down my face go unnoticed in the downpour. I scream with the sky.

This evening, I asked the cards "What do I need to remember?" I drew the Book and the Author from the Threadbound Oracle. Books are part of my spirit and the words they contain take me to places within myself. It's much the same for when I write. Sometimes when I'm writing, I can lose myself in the words that I write. Writing helps me to figure out different parts of myself and the journey that I am on. Words fill my life in so many ways and in so many stories. As the year 2018 was drawn to a close, I like to take back to what influenced me in the past year…BTS LOVE YOURSELF/ MYSELF SERIES (September 18, 2017-August 24, 2018) These seven multitalented men of the Bangtan Boys/Bangtan Sonyeondan/Beyond the Scene are very BEAUTIFUL on the OUTSIDE but caught my attention is their BEAUTY in the INSIDE 💕…BEAUTIFUL MINDS!!! 😍😘 They are sooo HUMBLE and DOWN TO EARTH despite not getting their IDOL POPULARITY get the better of them…supporting Unicef like I do to speaking at the United Nations Next Generation Leaders summit!!! This morning, I asked the cards “What do I need to know about finding my balance?” I drew the Boss, the Cleric and the 4 of Roses from The Outsider Tarot. 🌟 There is so much going on around me and within right now. I often find that my imbalance comes without warning and I am lost for a moment, trying to right myself in a body that I do not understand anymore but which is mine to contend with. I need to find creative ways to find my balance, use the tools which I’ve been given and know that this is but one moment, one iota of time. I can take back my balance by taking control of the situation and choosing a different path. 🌟 My spirit will also provide a lot of the balance I seek. Before embracing Paganism, I studied all kinds of religions. I grew up Catholic, but looked at Buddhism, Shintoism, Judaism and more. I had to find my voice amongst all the others, or the one that sounded true to my spirit. I’ve never looked back. So much of my balance comes from my spiritual path and I can’t forget to tune into spirit today and listen to what it has to tell me. 🌟 Creativity will also bring me balance. I need to embrace the passions that I hold, whether they be writing or painting. I am almost done the first draft of a novel that is so different from anything that I’ve written before and as I find my way through the mountain of words towards the ending, I will find the balance I seek. I need to embrace my creativity and the passion with which I live my life.
