What if Phoenix decided to hide his identity from Miles after his disbarment, and finds himself in another fucking rivalry with his courtroom rival again under the pseudonym Mr. Robin Leff?

I call it "Conjunction Wright and Left"!

Conjunction Wright and Left takes place between September 2019 to April 2020 after Phoenix's disbarment.

He, weirdly, takes it in stride. He immediately rises up to investigate and figure out the weirdness behind his disbarment and look into some shady sources, all the while he takes care of the new Wright in the family, Trucy. It doesn't mean it isn't difficult, but he's living the best he can. Sort of... [he gets a lot of injuries... and old man back pain]

However, he's also lying to many of his friends and family. He keeps in contact with them, but never lets them on of what he's doing for their safety.

This includes one Miles Edgeworth, who isn't even aware that his best friend is literally no longer a lawyer! He's too busy taking in all his studies abroad!

Miles Edgeworth, after months abroad dealing with conspiracies, studies, and many kinds of adventures, settles down back in Japanifornia in August. He finds himself followed by the newly employed private investigator/training detective Kay and recently promoted Sergeant Gumshoe leads them all back together! With the investigations trio reunited, they find themselves wrapped up in another conspiracy full of betrayal and corruption in the legal system!

But everything feels strange… Gumshoe seems antsy about something, these new witnesses of different cases are somehow all connected, and a new mysterious man who calls himself Mr. Leff seems to be everywhere and nowhere.

While investigating, Miles finds out more than he’s ever bargained for, especially about new revelations of a long time dear friend, Phoenix Wright and the intriguingly odd Mr. Leff.

Story contains a lot of angst, fluff, found family antics, gumshoe lore, phoenix lore, an abnormal amount of physical violence and fighting [but probably a good accurate canon amount] , arguing and narumitsu + dadworth + dadnix <3

I do plan to have this be a fic, but my ideas are so dang big that this is going to definitely take some time, especially cuz i want to establish motivations, reasons, and a really intricate case!

hot take kind of headcanon probably but 1) i think sam would've continued his education after law school, i think he would've gotten more than one phd, and i do think they'd branch off from law and 2) i don't think sam would've gone into criminal law. i do think he would have intended to, to an extent where he probably worked an internship with a lawyer who does criminal law but ultimately i think his career would be pretty intensive in something like immigration, family, or environmental law

Itsy-bitsy headcanon before bed:

I’ve mentioned this in (very minor) passing before but in my lil’ AoC-verse, the Yiga Clan has been surreptitiously farming mighty bananas in Faron for centuries. I just think, that they have too many stockpiled (and in the other timeline, every member who pops up to kill Link has some) for their stores to come solely from theft and happenstance gathering.* And after all, bananas don’t grow in the desert or highlands of their home…

Anyway, they “farm” in a way that makes the groves look very natural, so nobody else would tend to notice they’re not just growing wild. Just as they’ve been looking after the apple trees on Satori Mountain as stated in my linked post up there. The thing is, that means the Clan can’t defend their crop too intensely, and they always lose some of it to passers-by. In the past, there have been some incidents where Hylians have thought they were farming bananas in the general area; these were dealt with by quickly grabbing as much of the crop as possible, laying natural-seeming traps, and putting illusions on the trees to make them look blighted until the Hylians gave up again for another while and moved their operations somewhere else in Faron.

Post-Calamity, Master Kohga made it known that it’d been his people tending a large amount of banana trees all this time and that they hoped to plant more and expand their operation. Princess Zelda, as one show of gratitude for his assistance (*cough saving her father’s life cough*) and to aid in her own push to legitimize Yiga participation in commerce, worked with Kohga to draw up formal documents to the effect that yes, that land and those trees/bananas belong to the Clan. Which Kohga privately thought was annoying political theater since why wouldn’t it be theirs, why should the Yiga have to make nice to ~earn~ a right to what their hard work had created, but…still, he saw it as a step in the right direction by the Princess, surely (since it seemed she was trying hard to make nice from her end, too <3).

So where do the Yiga farm their bananas? Largely all along the stepped cliffs of Ubota Point, with a smaller reserve crop (looking even more wild and natural) on the higher areas around Bronas Forest and Kamah Plateau.** Post-Calamity, the Clan has been able to start building an open and permanent base of operations on the Point, as they’ll begin to sell and ship some of their crops to places besides their home in Karusa Valley (Urbosa and the Gerudo are among their first big customers, hehe). The Yiga’s once-small Faron Team has been bulked up considerably now that they don’t have to hide. Things are just getting underway with this, but it feels like a good start to their business relationship with Hyrule. Yay! :D

*There’s turn-in quests in AoC where the Clan wants to buy up every mighty banana in Hyrule. This is to sustain them while they understandably are shorter-handed and all-hands-on-deck with the Calamity (thanks Astor) and haven’t been as able to tend their crops, which they haven’t been up front with Hyrule about anyway ofc.

**As I’ve also said before, I headcanon that locations on the BotW/TotK map are bigger in “real life” for lack of a better descriptor. So Faron in general is big enough for the Clan and Hylians to be farming bananas and other things too. But incidentally, Ubota Point’s environs are the area in BotW where you can find the most mighty bananas, just growing everywhere! …and personally I’ve also been attacked by a bunch (ha! I have made a banana pun!) of Yiga in Faron both before and even more after that timeline’s Kohga fell in a hole, so….

And people will say she was justified in what she did and that its tamlins fault that he lashed out. like it wasnt great on his part but it is a type of emotional manipulation from feyre to get him to do that. she had to push him to get that reaction, it wasnt a natural reaction and man. i see it being more metaphorical for kuukou since he’s not one for material things, and i hope to god it’s kuukou’s principle to deal with things on his own being challenged lol

there are a few material things that kuukou does have. idk if he still has the nb bandana, but that bond with ichiro could be abused/put into question in some way. nb’s team colour is gold as well

and like…………. technically????? for all that it’s a place of religion, kuugen temple like……… is a material physical place. kuukou is a wandering monk but his temple kinda keeps him in one place. the sachihoko on his jacket are hidden by nature of the photo, but the fact that sachihoko are wards meant to protect temples from storms and lightning that historically have burnt down temples are hidden…………

and as for hitoya:

if there’s anyone who places a lot of value in the material world, it’s hitoya lmao. this man opens up his check book just to look at how much money he has and feel satisfied lol. money i’ve always assumed was a form of control for hitoya, so i could see that coming into question

part of hitoya’s materialism comes from wanting to be the best. like he’s got to own the best bc it reflects he is the best and i could see that reliance on goods coming into question

the way hitoya’s removing his tie makes me think the values he has as a lawyer. he wields the law for his own benefit and that’s what makes him morally grey but i personally don’t want to see that questioned (again lol) bc he’s helped people with that ability

however lol, hitoya only takes cases he knows he can win outside of bullying cases. i think that’s a character trait that encapsulates his reliance on money, his need to be the best and that grey morality in one go lol so it’d be nice if hitoya was put in a position where he has a case that’s very clearly a lose-lose situation for himself but it’d be rly fcked up if he didn’t take the case lol

Giant personal vent time

This guy stole somewhere between 3 to 6 MILLION dollars from my grandmother by conning my great aunt into signing over her estate and medical & financial power of attorney to him literally on her death bed

I and my aunt have been working basically a whole second job the last 3 months trying to get together a legal case to go after this guy. And now my grandma wants to drop it. And no one else has standing so what the fuck can we do.

This man has absolutely done this to other ppl before, there is no doubt in my mind. I’ve seen his property records for just what’s publicly available in my county and it’s sketchy as hell. I am never going to get over this but there’s nothing I can do.
