I drew another pic from another adorable Jon & Martin scene on the RP discord server where I play Martin and @superqueerdanver plays Jon. I probably put way too much time into this one (Like 3+ days worth of drawing, coloring, & shading) but oh well lol

Jon sits nervously on a park bench, holding a bouquet of green carnations. He texts Martin, hoping he isn't busy. After just a few minutes of waiting, Martin strolls down the main path, his face brightening when he sees Jon. He heads over with a wave. "Hey! You, um, you wanted to see me?

Jon stands up and holds out the flowers, blushing. "I read once that gay men used to give each other green carnations, and Oscar Wilde liked them, and I'm not technically gay, or exactly a man, but..."

Martin takes the flowers, gazing at them in awe. "Jonnn, that's really sweet! You didn't have to..." He cradles them delicately, like they are something very precious. "I don't think anyone's ever given me flowers before, let alone ones so meaningful... Thank you." He begins blushing too

"I... um... you're welcome. And they should! You're really... you deserve... nice things," Jon replies, thinking sarcastically to himself, 'so eloquent.' Why can't he get his words right? With the flowers out of his hands, he fidgets with his cane, running his fingers over the sticker on the handle.

Martin shifts the bouquet to one hand and suddenly hugs Jon very tightly. He holds onto him, hoping that Jon doesn't notice him sniffling slightly. Jon hugs him back, grateful for the chance to hide his face.

Martin slowly pulls away, rubbing quickly at his eyes with his sleeve. "Would you... Wanna take a walk?" he holds out his free hand for Jon to take. Jo nods, quickly wipes his hand on his trousers, then takes Martin's hand.

"There's, um. Some other flowers in there too," Jon informs Martin. upon closer inspection, the bouquet also contains apple blossoms and purple lilacs. "Apple blossoms mean preference, and..." he looks down, blushing more. "Purple lilacs mean new love. At least according to one source I found. There are so many websites about flower symbolism, and so many of them contradict each other, and I don't know how to fact-check that sort of thing, and..." he trails off.

Martin examines the bouquet because he's not sure he can look at Jon without crying again. When Jon explains the lilacs, he squeezes his hand, grinning in a way that Michael would be jealous of. "How are you so thoughtful?" he asks, only half joking. Jon's not sure he can put a sentence together to answer that, so he just squeezes Martin's hand back.

Martin smells the bouquet and thinks about what he has that he can use for a vase when he gets them home. He sets a leisurely pace as he walks down the path. Holding Jon's hand. In public. Oh no he's blushing and grinning like a fool again and there's nothing he can do to stop it.

"I'm, ah. I'm glad you like them," Jon says shyly.

"Of course! I mean, how could I not?" He finally feels like looking at Jon won't make him explode into a flurry of glitter and hearts, so he does so. "When did you have time to do this?"

Jon smiles back. "I ordered them online during lunch, and then I left early to pick them up."

Martin's jaw drops. "You left early? To do something sweet for me?"

"I do leave work sometimes, it's not that unusual," Jon replies. Except it is, of course... He swings Martin's hand a little as they enjoy a walk together through the park.

We all have fun OCs as well. We're not super canon-strict, but we're roughly somewhere in season 2. It's a minor-friendly server, so no sexual content allowed and there is a list of things that need to be spoilered with trigger warnings, but everyone is really nice and fun to play with! Woah Babe! I am in awe seeing your Altair in Sims! How is it even possible? Did you create him with the help of some skins? His clothes are not that bad! I have seen worse. Have you made Amara too? I don’t remember when I played Sim last time! I got a new computer so I can finally do anything on it. I thought about buying Sims 4, because of their latest expansion pack. Like.. Imagine having a cow! But in the end I bought The Witcher games, because I have never played them and I enjoyed the books and soundtracks. To be honest, The Witcher soundtracks are my favorite amongst other game soundtracks and if you didn’t pay attention to music I can recommend you many fantastic songs!

My first thought at your story was.. You were attacked by what?! It took me a few moments to process how it was even possible. Think of it bears are not popular “animal mascots” if I can put it like that. But then it made me extremely sad. Bear on a chain leash. I know the story is exciting on its own but the thought that people are this cruel to animals makes me want to cry. I understand your aversion tho. It must have been a really scary experience, especially because you were a kid then!

Bulgaria! I have never been there, but I would love to. They are known for their rose cosmetics and I love its scent! How many times have you been there already? What makes you love this country this much?

Turkey is beautiful! I have been there and it was an incredible experience! If I had the opportunity I would go back there without a second thought, so if you ever have the opportunity to visit this country - GO! Egypt? Maybe it’s because I had really high expectations, but it disappointed me a lot. It’s dirty, people are pushy. But the coral reef is worth seeing! For sharing adventures I can say that I almost had a heart attack and collision with a sea turtle!

As for my travel plans - I have a lot! I don’t know if I could ever make it to some places tho! I would love to see Japan too! Since I remember I've wanted to go to Takarazuka theatre! For sure I would love to go back to Iceland. And I will go back, even if it were my last and only one journey. I am in love with this country with all my heart! And I am hyping over it as much as over my dog lol. I love hot weather, even when it is extreme for most people. But if I have to choose, I would choose to see the Arctic and Scandinavia. To see northern lights. To see milky way once again. And maybe go to Labrador Peninsula and find labradorite stone of my own! And Costa Rica just to go to Territorio de Zaguates and adopt all the dogs. Eh, some dreams have to remain just dreams.

Is there something particular you want to see in countries you would like to visit one day?

As for spicy food - I admire such skill! I guess you like spicy food and spicy content <winks>

I'm glad you like him! Yes, I have like 20GB of CC for sims 3. Skins, eyes, make-up, sliders, clothes, objects. I spend a long time on him, especially that HIS FACE. THERE IS NO PIC OF HIS FACE AS A WHOLE. So I used to picture of the Altair figure I found. Honestly, If they made Altair in modern graphic he would be the sexiest of them all. I used to have Amara too but I don't have a picture ;; But if you want I can make one for you! And I have a cow in sims3! And it gives chocolate milk! ANd in all honesty. I won't but sims 4 because... I'm waiting for sims 5 >.<

The Witcher series is really great tho I haven't played Witcher 3 yet. YET.

As for bear yeah, it was not too nice. Anyway. Yes, I love Bulgaria, I was there twice but I could go there anytime I love that place. Idk maybe it's the weather, the people, the food, the sea, maybe everything. It's just so amazing. I love it so much more than for example the Canary Islands. People there was rude ;;

OMG SEA TURTLE?! Amazing! Tbh I don't really want to go to Egypt anymore. I used to want to go but I'm a bit afraid. But turkey! I think ill go there next year! Also funny thing. When I was in Albania I caught a sea turtle. I was like 14 I think and there was a turtle so I just... grabbed it. Took a photo, make people gasp and then let it go. I hope he's still alive and well ;; KNifeeeeyyyy. I love your plans and gods you are so amazing. I honestly wish you will visit all those places and one day tell me about them! I think that except Japan I also would love to see the northern lights and the milky ways. It sounds so nice when you're talking about it. I would be more than happy to see it with my own eyes. Also maybe you want to visit bunny island in japan? It's called Okunoshima. Yes, I love spicy in my life :D I want to see rabbit island in Japan, the cherry tree alley, the key-hole graves and the museum. I want to see the famous things in china. Like the army and the Chinese wall also I want to see Chinese and Japanese festivals. I want to see Petersburg and Moscow in Russia, the ruins of Masyaf castle, the Pyramids... there are a lot of places, you know? Or ruins of the shrine of Quetzalcoatl. The world is such a fascinating place I want to see all creations of the great, ancient civilisations ;w; And I want to do to Budapest again! And the famous water part in Slovakia! Ok so before we start, I gotta fess up and say I got spoiled for something because Twitter Sucks, so I know Tarn is in this series. Here are my predictions about that: 

Megatron said he rescued Astrotrain from a tyrant. I thought he meant an Alt!Universe version of him, but now that I know This Bastard is gonna be in it, I’m guessing it’s Tarn

If Megatron DID save Astrotrain from Tarn, it’d be hilarious if Tarn & co. weren’t actually planning to kill Astrotrain, they were just using him as transport, in which case Megatron essentially car-jacked (train-jacked?) them.

As much as I rag on Tarn and the DJD I actually do genuinely love the idea of an Autobot + Decepticon teamup against the DJD THAT WOULD BE SO FRICKIN COOL....

Anyways, on to the episode!

Heck now I’m just imagining them playing truth or dare or some similar game while waiting for Optimus to wake up. 

I’m sure at some point during their voyage on the Ark, Optimus froze and they all played the “who can do this silly / embarrassing thing in front of Optimus and get away with it before he wakes up” game. Like, Rodimus somersaults down the hall while spouting fire in front of Optimus, Bee does a handstand while singing the alphabet backwards, etc, and whoever’s in front of Optimus when he “wakes up” loses. (It’d be even funnier if Optimus kept pretending to be frozen while they played until someone did something REALLY embarrassing and he unfroze to freak them out. Then again, the Matrix going back into his chest would probably be too much of a giveaway huh)

I love Astrotrain’s design (both in bot-mode and his alt mode) because he just looks like a grumpy evil train and that makes me so happy.

If Megatron could hop into the Matrix of Leadership he possessed, I wonder if he ever had a chance to talk to that universe’s Optimus Prime... :( based on what he said, probably not, but that makes me so sad!!!! Did they ever get the chance to work things out!!! IS MEGATRON ALIVE OR NOT.....

Today has been frustrating. That’s all I’m going to say. Well, it started off nicely, I did something I was proud of. Then it went kinda downhill. I’m probably going to make it even worse as soon as I post this...there’s this thing I’ve been thinking about for the past few days. Considering I’m soooo good at communication and expressing my feelings, it’s going to end up great, you can bet.

Sarcasm aside, let’s talk about my legacies: 

I just queued the rest of part one of Gen 6! It’ll run for like 40 more days though.

After that, I’ll finally post the first generation of my BPR, almost a year after starting it. I know what you’re thinking, I’ve been posting TS3 for months, I should switch back to TS4 now, it would be fair, and yes, I thought about that too. But I kinda really want to get rid of the BPR. Gen 1 is finished and I don’t want to keep it to myself anymore.

As for gen 3 of NSB, I haven’t been playing it too much recently. I’ll play it a lot in June though, I hope. As soon as the exam chaos is over.

I’ve also made some decisions about Roses, but I’ll talk about these later. There’s still a high chance I’ll change my mind.

Besides, when do I not make decisions about Roses? They’re on my mind way too often. It can’t be healthy.

Update: I’m still not done with my replies but I just got a message from my teacher, saying that I did well on the English writing exam! I don’t know the exact grade but yay me. I mean, I knew I was going to do well on this one, but finally seeing I passed feels much nicer than “oh yeah, I’m confident about my English, there’s no way I can fail”. The way this exam system works...I was worried it wouldn’t scan properly or some crap. In the past, people had problems with that.

Update 2: Still writing the replies but I just found out that apparently I got 100% on the exam. Holyyyyy crap.

If it makes you feel better, I’m constantly rethinking how I should have posted my story too. I think it’s why I’m enjoying doing these mini photo shoots for Gen 2. It’s glimpses into their life that I didn’t fully express in my story.

I feel like everyone does this, they get great ideas when it’s too late to change it. Some people are just better at moving on, I guess. Not that I want to move on from gen 4, nope.

I haven't watched this season yet. �� I keep saying I'm gonna sit down and binge it, but haven't done it. Maybe I'll do that Wednesday.

Oooh, I’m not sure if I would be able to binge watch it. Every episode left me feeling overwhelmed with thoughts and emotions, doesn’t matter if they were negative or positive. Actually, I don’t think this season is as bad as so many people online say...it’s not perfect but nothing is. 🤷‍♀️

Then again, speaking of binge watching, I was able to watch the previous seven seasons in less than a month last year, so maybe it is possible.

I’m not sure how I felt about it. Like I’ve said already in this post, today has been frustrating and this episode contributed to that. There were some things that bothered me, some decisions that bothered me, oh and there was a great example of character development going to hell (that really disappointed me tbh), but overall...idk, I guess I still kinda enjoyed it - I mean, as much as one can enjoy this tv show. It was brutal.

I’m not going to talk about it all in depth though, I could spend whole evening with that and I don’t want that haha :D

Then I got distracted.  Blackberry won her game, but did not get a promotion.  There is just a tiny sliver to go.

Unfortunately, we cannot count this as done just yet.

When you’re trying to have a small wedding, but didn’t know the family would watch.

They cancelled the wedding to celebrate birthdays.

Then it was time for the wedding.

This was a concern when I saw it, but I was daring and proceeded onward.

And this is my first Error 12 in at least 6 years.  It did not crash my game as expected.  It just closed out.  I tried to save several more time with no luck.

So, I grabbed everyone up in the town with Porter, which did work.  The game crashed when I tried to go into Edit Town to save the house.  Afterward, I checked my sims 3 folder and the cache’s were in the 500mb range, so I’m not sure if that contributed to the issue or what.

Pop is the first one up for download.

Replay:  Pop said no to a home wedding after a horrible nightmare the night before when the whole thing was ruined somehow.  He left City Hall and headed straight to Miltan’s house where they had a private wedding.

His mom and dad were on their way to work when he decided to move out and not wait for the teen birthdays for his quad siblings.  The move went smoothly and he was excited to start the next chapter of his life.

Plus, this time the game saved and the blacked out sim is not here.  I am wondering if one of the quads glitched and borked that save.  We lost nothing as I had just saved when Pop got out of graduation.

I had tried to use the Porter I had made, but it was non-functional.  I came to this save only to grab their house, but found out that we are stuck trying to play them as is.  The next world is the same as the Original Tarts.  It’s all ready and Fudge’s spouses are already there, just in female form.  I have not dragged their swapped versions out 

The girls finally come home and they immediately head to their cakes.

Cherry:  Soggy cake sucks!

The Others:  Yeah!

Pineapple’s romantic interest Billie arrives and starts taking pics of celebrity children.

Tangy is the first one with a makeover.

Coming up last, is Cherry.

I have to say that I think all the kids this generation really hit the ugly tree.  I really hope that the gender swap spouses do some toning down of these genetics in the future.

These four all resemble aliens.

During the birthdays Plum and Blackberry had some good wishes.

Blackberry won her game again.  Before the crash last night, her team won 11-2, so this was a better blowout.

Are freaking kidding me?!  Still, the game did not crash and since we had makeovers, I saved each of the quads to the bin and reloaded my game.

I replaced the teens even though Razz and Tangy still had their makeovers (because I saved after each one).

Lemon or Cherry was the glitch apparently, but after replacing them with copies, the save works fine.  So far.

Plum does get his LTW completed again, but I’m too lazy to document it.

I’m going to keep going though.  Fudge takes over in two days.  If worse comes to worse, we just bail and leave the quads dumb asses behind.  Anyway, I have saved 3 times in a row with no trouble, so I think we will be okay.

Razz celebrates this by breaking the tv.

Omg.  She’s about to pass out, but chooses to cook instead of going to bed.

Okay, make that 6am, I guess.

Fudge:  I’m tired and I stink!  Help me!

Then the bus showed up.  Have a great time at school.

Blackberry:  Food!  Feed me!

Is it me or are they being more stupid than normal?

HAHA!  She sat down to eat and her carpool arrived.

Plum:  I really would love some grandkids.

And you’ll be getting them soon.

I have no clue where Lemon is, but she is having a nice chat with herself.

Yes, the green clad person barely seen above is a sleeping Fudge.  At least she didn’t pass out.

I wonder if the high school field trip was nearby.

Plum:  It’s getting late!  What if Fudge misses her cake and has her birthday alone in the dark?  Oh no!

There is an easy remedy to this.

Plum:  Everyone, it’s time to come home for cake!

Fudge:  I think I’d rather chat on the computer.

Lemon:  This cake looks good.

The whole family celebrates the onset of Generation 2!

Then head outside to enjoy their last meal in Sugar Valley.

Oh and Sour Apple is born to Miltan and Pop!  Well, she has Miltan’s skin tone!

Then I saved the game and got my porter going, which shut down my game.  <sigh>  I think after this family hit generation 10, I’m quitting Sims 3 for good.

Japan, Day 3!

For Day 3, I needed to go to Kamiyacho station - that meant using the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line.

This Lawson wasn’t built - it was grown. :P

Finally found my first destination of the day - Atago Shrine!

…Okay so technically the shrine is at the top of these Success Steps, which according to the internet, is 26 meters tall. Apparently somebody climbed this on a horse, which led him to succeed in life later on.

Well, time to climb!

Moving on to my next destination! Oh god I need to take the steps again don’t I-

I was on my way to Zojoji Temple when I came across Seishoji Temple. There weren’t many people, so I had a good look around.

Being so close to Zojoji, you’d think more people will come across this place. I guess not?

I rested at this point, before proceeding to Zojoji Temple.

TOKYOOOOO TOWEEEEEEER

At the base of Tokyo Tower. It’s undergoing maintenance, thus all the blue nets.

Climbing the tower would require another 7 months of my non-existent salary, so I decided to pass the time at Marion Crepes located at the base of the tower.

Everything looks so nice D:

Forgive the already dismembered crepe picture, but I was already hungry (plus there were a lot of birds asking for crepes! ^o^). I got myself Crepe #95 :3

(Also thanks to the new-found confidence from Towa the night before, I’ve started ordering stuff purely in Japanese at this point. Sumimasen, hitotsu no kyuujuugoban kudasai~)

One last picture of Tokyo Tower as I made my way to Odaiba.

First stop at Odaiba - Tokyo Big Sight! I didn’t enter the building anymore as I had other plans. I was already very happy just being able to be this close.

Instead of walking to Palette Town, I decided to ride the train once more - this meant passing through Toyota Mega Web. And guess what? Toyota = cars!

More cars!

Fun fact: they did have a Supra Mk4 and Mk5 (are they calling it the Mk5 yet?) visible downstairs, but it wasn’t open to the public.

So I took a picture of this futuristic-looking car instead.

I then fell in line for this driving simulator!

P.S. I sucked at it D: I was surprised, because I consider myself decent at  real-life driving. ;^;

After driving around, it was time to ride the Palette Town Ferris Wheel!

I paid (and waited) extra to get a transparent floor. :3 I guess it wasn’t that transparent...

The Gundam becomes visible at some point.

Having gained confidence, I was already standing during the last quarter rotation.

I’m not joking when I said it was a pain in the butt (and the legs) looking for the entrance to Rainbow Bridge. I eventually managed to find it, but I was already very tired at that point, that the crow (that’s an actual crow) was almost telling me crossing the bridge would be a bad idea.

Tokyo Tower finally lit up in the distance! I was already on my way out of the bridge when this happened.

Finally made it off the bridge! T_T

Side story:

Rainbow Bridge has 2 paths: the northern path, and the southern path. They’re just fancy ways of saying “which side of the bridge are you walking on?” - they don’t refer to the direction (Odaiba - Shibaura / Shibaura - Odaiba) you’re walking in. For instance, I walked from Odaiba to Shibaura using the northern route, in order to see Tokyo Tower. Had I picked the southern path, the view would have been different.

Once I got to the Shibaura end, there’s a door marked “Exit”. Obviously, I used that one, aaaand it was just for looping back to Odaiba, using the southern path. I didn’t know what to do, but thankfully a lady came along and also got lost. She however, unlike me, could read Japanese, and therefore proceeded to use the goddamn elevator camouflaged within the walls. The bridge is connected to the 7th floor; you get off at the 2nd floor. Yey! XD

On Posing:

Thanks to @strangetomato​, @retromaisie​, and @katatty-main​ for your responses about the posing ‘jump’ issue. I was using the Freezer clock for some of the sims, but not all of them, so I will make myself be more diligent with that and hopefully that will improve matters. Pretty sure it was idle animations causing the jumps, based on what you were saying as I did have Free Will off and time frozen with the Clock.

@esmeiolanthe​ and @holleyberry​ - I think you guys were talking about a different issue when you are physically moving the sims into place and they jump into the hands of a nearby sim. That wasn’t happening as I had them all on OMSPs. The issue I was having was them jumping out of the pose when already in place, but thanks for the help :)

Thank you so much! I won’t be putting this one up for download, because there’s a ton of CC in there and a lot of it I got from installing lots, so I’m not even sure where it’s from or what the creator’s terms are and you’d likely end up with a lot of missing Master textures and stuff. Also I’m not sure parts of it are entirely playable *cough* the kitchen *cough* because I used MoveObjects etc to arrange stuff and I haven’t playtested the house at all. I’m fully expecting to have to rearrange everything when I move a sim into it. x.x Feel free to copy/recreate it though. I do that all the time ;)

Yes that is (hopefully) how I'll be setting up my new hood, as I set it up completely clean, it currently has zero sims. I will be creating some townies for the apartment lots when I get onto sim building.

as for the noise thing, i think the trick is to put bedrooms on a side of the building that isnt joined onto a neighobur's wall? if that makes sense

The noise is coming through from the neighbour's living room into the Terranos' kitchen so it's not bedroom-related. I'll have to look into it more. Or not have posh apartments directly next to each other. I think the noise makes sense in lower-rent places, but the Terranos' place is meant to be nice and fairly up-market. xD

I use probably the same hack that Katatty uses for the townie apartment neighbors, and I also completely nuke neighbor noise b/c I got sick of it: http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=577082 But if you don't want to do that, you can hang pictures on every wall. (Invisible recolors are good for this, obviously.) Then the noise emitter can't generate.

I will probably get sick of it after a while so thanks for that link! At the moment it's still new to me so I'm all 'ooooh noise :D'. I think I'll have to play around with various tricks so I can maintain it in some but not all. =)

Yups about the witches! I just had a sim become a witch the "normal" way for the first time. You just have to make friends with one of the High Witches (either good or bad) and then eventually there will be an option to ask to be shown the way of the path of either darkness or light, depending on which witch you asked.

I'm looking forward to Monica finally getting there. She's wanted to be a witch since she first saw one back in LFT and it'll be nice to have some Good to balance Olive's Evil.

Thank you both! It took quite a while to get it to a state I was happy with while using little CC. I spent ages trying to use the normal spire roof and failing before realising I could use the mansard roof pieces.

Awh thank you! I really enjoy looking at pictures of real-life places (or tv show scenery) and simmifying them xD and I like the way this hood is developing. It’s nicely different from Strangetown. Hopefully I can stick with it!

Hi, so, yes, this is a little awkward. It has been awhile, hasn’t it, since my last post on this blog? I’m sure you have many questions. 

“How are you?” “Did you catch Covid-19?” “Where is my money?”

Or, more likely, “Are you really popping in after a couple of months of inactivity to discuss a hybrid of Picross and a dating sim?” 

The answer to that, dear readers, is yes. Fuck, yes. I am a fiend for Picross - logic puzzles where you fill in a pixel image based on numeric clues (also known by nonograms, pixel puzzles, and other names). I dove immediately from replaying the fantastic Mario’s Super Picross (available for Switch Online subscribers in the SNES app - it is a must-play!) into the subject of this post, Pixel Puzzle Makeout League. 

We are truly living in the renaissance period for Picross. In the old days, you had to wait years between releases of the Nintendo published series. Here and there, you might find an obscure Japanese import to help fill the gap. However, the advent of downloadable games, indie development, and mobile platforms have created more than enough takes on the core concept to give Picross fiends the constant drip feed needed to stave off the shakes (I feel seen). In addition to a bunch of variants of classic Picross, we have Picross-with-colors (Pic-a-Pix Deluxe, Piczle Colors), Picross-with-layers (Depixtion), graphic adventures (Piczle Cross Adventure), RPGs (PictoQuest), and murder mysteries (Murder by Numbers). Now, Pixel Puzzle Makeout League (PPML) introduces romance to the mix.

If you have never played one of these games before, it is worth taking a step back and explaining the core concept. You start with an empty grid. Each row and column of the grid has a series of numbers on it. Your goal is, simply, to fill the correct cells in the grid to create an image. You can think of it as a form of “paint-by-numbers”, where you need to identify the right spaces to mark to form a pixel-art painting.

The numbers on a row or a column tell you how many spots need to be filled in. If you see a “5″, you know that a five-block sequence will need to be filled, while blocks before and after those five will remain unfilled. To figure out which five need filled, you need to look at the corresponding columns (if you are working on a row) and see if you can match the conditions placed by the numbers on each of those. You will often see multiple numbers, like “2 3″, indicating that there are multiple sequences that will be filled in. In this case, the row would have a sequence of two filled-in blocks, then later, a second sequence of three filled-in blocks. At least one unfilled cell must exist between the two sequences. Again, you need to use the other clues to identify where the two sequences lie in the row.

That’s about all there is to it. Identify the spaces to fill, mark off those you know will not be filled, and try to complete the picture as fast as you can without making any mistakes. PPML offers both touch and button controls, but I’d really recommend just using the buttons. I feel the same about all of these Picross games - the buttons just give you more precision. 

As pictures get larger, keeping track of all of the numbers becomes a tougher task. Even as a novice, you can probably complete 5x5 or 10x10 puzzles without breaking a sweat. As the puzzles grow, you may find it a little harder to keep track of everything. Still, try not to panic. A great thing about these puzzles is that you should never have to make a blind guess. There is always enough information to unravel the next spot - it just may take some searching to identify it.

Pixel Puzzle Makeout League mostly sticks to the traditional Picross format - eschewing twists like colors or layers that other games have applied. This is fine. Even as someone who has solved thousands of these puzzles, there are so many different images you can form that it is not like the format itself grows stale. The actual puzzle quality in PPML is solid - nothing that will drive you insane in terms of difficulty, but not too easy either. There is a satisfying quantity and variety of puzzles, and there are a ton of bonus puzzles you can solve on the size to unlock themes - or when you want to take a break from reading. 

No, the core “twist” in PPML is the dating sim side of the game. Really, like Murder by Numbers, PPML is a visual novel. The game is broken into a series of scenes, where you read though dialogue between the characters and puzzles are used to accentuate the drama. The story revolves around a group of “superheroes” - four people who have been imbued with supernatural skill at solving different forms of puzzles by a mysterious power. 

Our protagonist, Pixel Girl, is the newest recruit to the Puzzle League, and is able to solve pixel puzzles with finesse and grace. Sudoku is a shy gamer who just wants to get back to her MMO group. Leader Chess is the tactical “genius” of the group, while Crossword uses his endless reservoir of knowledge to solve mysteries. Finally, we have Piecea. Piecea is... Well... Piecea is a sentient puzzle piece from another planet. He? She? They are, naturally, really good at puzzles. 

At the beginning of the game, Pixel Girl is kidnapped by a mysterious villain, Villain, who seems quite intent on getting her to join him in his sinister plot. You escape, but the next day, a massive “puzzle tower” emerges over the city. Together with your fellow Puzzle Leaguers, you need to put a stop to Villain before he can begin his reign of terror. 

As you can imagine, based on this description, PPML is not the most serious of games. The story and dialogue are actually really fun and well-written. The game itself is full of jokes about the different genres of puzzle involved, and the entire thing is just the right mix of humor, charm, and the surreal to be entertaining. I mean, it’s a game about a bunch of puzzle-based superheroes, and you can date a sentient puzzle piece. How is that not amazing?

The actual “romance” portion of the game comes into play at points where the game splits into different paths you can take, where you pick one of the characters to tag along with. During these alternate paths, you get to know the character you picked and grow closer to them. A nice feature of this is that your choice is not binding - as the plot always converges back to a central path, you can feel free to explore the potential relationships with each or all of the characters. You also get different puzzles along each path, giving more incentive to see every conversation. I’m a fan of Sudoku, but - come on - I also had to see what happened with the alien puzzle piece. How could you not? Really, all of the characters are charming enough that it is worth going down all of their paths. 

In truth, I’m not generally into dating sims, or even really the romance elements of most games. They tend to be some mixture of cheese, creepy, or just badly written. Here, the writing is cute and clever enough that I like it. There is just the right blend of romance and sarcasm to make it all work. 

Pixel Puzzle Makeout League is fantastic. It is a fun and clever take on the Picross formula, effectively using puzzles to liven up the visual novel. The writing is fantastic - a bit metatextual, a bit tongue-in-cheak, and a lot of genuine charm. All of it presented with nice art and enough puzzles to keep you busy for quite a while. If you are into the general Picross drama, then PPML is absolutely worth a look.

Just watch out for that alien puzzle piece.

He did, that’s the beauty of story progression in sims, lol. But Violet did as well. Things have to move at a certain speed in sims otherwise they’ll all be elders by the time they get to the baby making :P. And I even have YA and adult on max!

I think she needs to consider that she's part of the problem. At no time did she tell Hunter that he needed to do more until she couldn't handle that he wasn't doing more than he was supposed to change overnight. She needs to grow up as much as he does. Yeah she works and makes money but she sure doesn't know how to communicate.

That’s definitely true! She just expected Hunter to read her mind, though Hunter also never took the trouble to properly talk to Violet about his own issues. In Sims they do need to change overnight though because time moves fast and I don’t want Violet to be an elder while her kids are still kids haha.

Hmmmm. I still think this was a rash decision. Not that his behavior is acceptable, but she's hormonal and emotional and she just made a very quick decision (again). She needs to learn to talk more and stop making snap decisions before she's even talked to people.

The decisions she made were rash from the start, but that’s also because of me because I wanted things to move along so that they wouldn’t be too old by the time they all settled permanently. Even though I slowed down story progression as much as possible, the town moved around at about the same pace as the story. Try to think of the years (which are 7 simdays) as real human years. So even though it’s just 7 simdays, convert them in your brain to 365 days. If you think of it like that, time and events in the story move at a more natural pace :). We started in the year 2238, we’re now in the year 2241! So 3 years have passed. Violet spent about a year finding a partner, a year living with him in peace and then another year where things went downhill and she broke up and moved on to Davey.

10 Question Meme Thing

So I was tagged by @simlishdistractions. We are about to get deep with these questions... or not. lol But these really make me think!

1) What is your longest marathon simming session?

- My longest marathon simming would have to be with the Sims 2. I played for four hours one time without a single crash. It has never happened ever again. lol

2) If you could visit one premade world as a real life place, which would it be?

- I would have to say Vacation Island in the Sims. You had three locations in one setting. Spend one day at the beach, the next camping and fishing, and then the final day snow boarding and drinking hot chocolate.

3) Tell me about a sim of your who you were saddest to lose (death, game glitch or whatever…)

- It’s two actually. Tyra and Thomas Brooks in my Sims 2 game. I was offline at the time so I couldn’t get to any Sims forums for help, or even Google an answer. I don’t know what happened, they just ended up glitching out so badly that I had to kill them off. It was not only devastating to me, but to their three children as well. Their oldest, Eva, ended up moving in with her husband - then boyfriend - to take care of her twin teen brothers.

4) If you could go back and change one thing about your simming, knowing what you know now, what would it be?

- This is a hard question. My first response would be never to discover cc, because that would save me many days, weeks, and sometimes months of weeding through cc trying to find the one that has messed up the whole game. But I LOVE cc, so I could never advise myself to stay away from it. So I would have to go with, get a larger hard drive and the best graphics card that I could afford.

5) Do you aim to give your sims a happy perfect life, or enjoy watching their struggle and misery? >:)

- Ha, ha. No! I love the drama and those “little” hiccups that come my sims way. I don’t even have to start drama because they get into it all on their own. Anyone who has followed my blog back with I still played Sims 2 knows all to well, from teen pregnancies, to love triangles, to cheating. If it can happen in game, my sims will have it tossed their way.

6) What do you sip or snack on while you’re simming?

- Most of the time it’s either hot tea or coffee, or a nice glass of water. I don’t snack much while simming, I find that it takes my attention partly away from enjoying the game. But if I do need to take a bit it’s normally tortillas with hummus or guacamole.

1) When you’re playing, do you have the game music on or off?

- I use to play with the music on, but now I turn it off. One, because I started my YouTube channel and I don’t want to get any copyright strikes or claims, and Two, it got annoying. And when I’m in a long session in CAS it kind of distracts me. I want to focus on the sims that I’m making not the background music.

2) How long have you been playing your current hood? 

- Well in the Sims 4 it’s been since May or June I think. I accidentally deleted my old world and had to start a new one. In the Sims 3 I was playing a save from 2014 I believe, or possibly 2013. But I need to reinstall it after uninstalling the game because of some bad cc.

3) Uh-oh! Your game just exploded: are you going to rebuild or start afresh? 

Rebuild. I love my simmies too much to just let them fade away into the ether.

4) What is your favourite Sims version and why? 

- It would have to be the Sims 2. They were the most fully fleshed out sims that we have seen. They weren’t driven by whims or buffs. Their memories helped shape them, along with their “life” experiences. And they just seemed so much more alive to me. I know each game has its drawbacks. But if The Sims 3 was the Sims 2 with an open world (ported, and the core game engine designed correctly) with a color wheel. That would have been the bees knees for me!

5) What’s an expansion you’d love to see that EA never did for any version of the game? 

- I would love a whole ep dedicated for vacations. Ranging from Cruise ships to a trip to the local amusement park. I posted an outline for ideas over on the main forum in the Game Ideas section. I just think it would be super cool to have true vacations where sims could either plan a jam packed getaway with activities, tours, etc. or just chill pool side or at the beach/lake able to sip on fruity drinks with little umbrellas. Order food pool side. Kids could be off doing supervised activities.

Or just a getaway for two. The ability to plan a “Ladies” vacation, leaving the hubby and kids at home for the weekend. Or a Guys Night Out. How about a Single cruise. Or a senior Golden Vacation. With custom packages that sims could plan and book, and all they would need to do is bring extra cash for souvenirs, etc.

And then you have your local theme park. Real roller coasters - steel tracks, wooden tracks, standing ones, etc. - with dips, loops, tunnels, a camera to take a picture at the end. Water ride. Ridable hunted house. Games - sims could also win prizes from pet gold fish to ginormous stuffed animals, other rides like the Jack Rabbit (found at Kennywood), skydrop, The Whip. Just basically all the awesomeness of Roller Coaster Tycoon but on The Sims scale. (sorry, went overboard)

6) Do you use cheats (apart from building cheats) when you play?

- Not in Sims 2 or Sims 3. With Sims 4 I find I’m more willing to use cheats like Motherlode if my sims need help paying their rent or bills. But outside of that, no, none.

7) Do you consider yourself primarily a player, builder or decorator? Or other? 

- I would say a player. Simply because I love to play the game. I also can’t build to save my life. lol But I will if I’m pushed against a wall and can’t find what I’m looking for online.

8) Do you play pre-mades, your own sims or a mix? 

- I haven’t truly played with pre-mades since the Sims. I have since with the other three games allowed my created sims meet and fall in love with pre-mades. But for me to play with all or at least half of them, they have to have wiggled their way into my heart. Those who do come to mind are the Ramaswamis, Ottomas, and Picaso. They became some of my Founder families in my old Sims 2 game.

9) What is your favourite kind of business to run? Or what kind would you like to run, if your game version allowed it? 

- In the Sims 2 it’s a toss up between a restaurant and a clothing store. Both were super fun to do. But having to pick one, it would be the rastaurant, and I wish the way they had done OFB transfer over to Sims 3 and Sims 4 as well. It’s just not possible in either games like in Sims 2.

10) If you were a sim, what would be your aspiration and lifetime want? Feel free to translate that to your own game version - I only speak TS2! 

- What would my aspiration and LTW be? Hm... I would have to say as aspirations go, having a Successful Lineage, where all my kids have an awesome life after the hubby and I kick them from the nest! LTW would be to reach Golden Anniversary.

1) How often do you play the sims? 

- I normally play daily most days. But when I get burnt out I can go about a month without playing. I have a few challenges and just gameplay going on over on my YouTube channel, so I have to keep those fresh.

2) How long do you usually play the sims for in one session? 

- Normally 2 hours. That has always been my max, sometimes I’ve gone 2.5 to 3 hours though.

3) Favourite expansion pack and why? 

- I would have to say Super Star. I had so much fun when that ep came out. I even pre ordered it, and I remember it coming a day early. And those of use who got it over on N99 (neighborhood 99) shared picks and game play. It was done right - at least for me. The stalker though. ROFL Leaving those dead roses at your sim’s door. Made me cry from laughter all the time. And I was sad when we didn’t get something similar in Sims 2. And I don’t really care for the celebrity system in Sims 3, but I do enjoy Showtime.

4) Name a townie sim you never liked? 

- I forget his full name, but Vald the vampire that came with the vampire GP. My sim, Pattie Newberry (Not So Berry) cannot stand him, though all he wants is to be her friend. lol She pulls pranks on him all the time, and even tried to fight him once. He stands outside her house wanting to be loved.

5) Have you ever made a sim of yourself? 

- Yes, in Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims 4. Never shared her with anyone though, and no pics. And never played her for long either. Just seems weird to me. Playing my sim self. lol

6) What is your favourite food? 

- No matter how many foods I like, it will always be pizza! Favorite toppings but not all on the same pie: pepperoni, salami, gyro meat, shrimp, artichoke, grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, pineapple, banana peppers, green and black olives, feta cheese, steak, onions, pesto, and hamburger.

7) Do you play with cc or no cc? 

- Yes! ALL the cc. I would die without it.

8) How many mods do you currently use in your game? 

- I am not sure. I just know I have ALL the mods. lol In all my games.

9) Do you play on a laptop or a desktop computer? 

- Desktop. It’s my gaming pc. Can’t live without it. It’s my non human baby.

10) Do you own any pets? 

- Yup, I sure do. We have one cat - Stormy. One turtle, he’s a red eared slider - Speedy. And one hamster - Vanilla. He’s so huge I call him Bear Claw, yes, the doughnut. He had a brother - Brown Sugar - who I called Pee Pee, since he peed all over the place. But he recently passed away. :(

Nice, you like it. This scene I did in only 15 minutes and it was just for fun because e remade the characters. In the books, their people live in the swamps and a popular prejudice states they are eating frogs.

Thank you! In the novels, this was actually a flashback for Rhaegar died many years before the beginning . You sent the armour to me and I’m grateful. It fits more for a late medieval (14th century) setting, I suppose. I’d place “Chevalry” more in the 10th century or even earlier. Am I correct?

Thank you, my dear! Arianne is barefoot as most of my female sims are. The medieval gown conversions (in the pic she wears store outfit) act weird with shoes, so I leave them barefoot. You won’t see the feet anyway. But I like your lost shoe interpretation!

The picture is there to give a reference to the absent little brother she mentions. But sims paintings always look odd. But photographies couldn’t be placed on the easel.

I always use @danjaley‘s poses because they are the best. I combine them in ways she maybe never imagined. They are so useful for every story one could tell.

Jousting is better for pictures, I suspect. But why don’t you take a break from movie making and do some photography? I’m sure you’d be great, too.

This is just an edit of one of my previous castles. The statues are new CC I wanted to include.

The guy with the cane is their older brother Willas (an Easter egg for fans). His father made him joust when he was too young, he had an accident and his leg is hurt since, so he must use a cane.

Breastfeeding is a beautiful & natural act but unfortunately there are some people who have sexualised boobs so much that's all they think of when they see breasts instead of what they were intended for. And since you had no idea who may walk past and see this while someone is reading it at work or whatever the safest action was to tag is not safe for work just in case :3

The Hensley household

Sometimes waiting for autonomy is pretty ridiculous. In this case, I just had them kiss and get it over with. It’s weird Parker being promised to someone when his dad and his live-in boyfriend haven’t even kissed.

Aryana hadn’t collected any of her scout badges. She got four at once.

While clicking on all 5 pets to see who woke up Ethan, I found so many of them had done things to lecture them for I woke Thatcher to help.

The morning after Parker’s matchmaking he still had his head in the clouds. No time for that! It’s party time!

My solution to everyone constantly stopping conversations to wash a dish is the new trash can. I’ve banned them from autonomously taking out the trash from it and just drag plates in myself. That doesn’t stop the pets from knocking it out.

Like mother like son?

Lots of flirting throughout the day. I realized that none of my sims are getting embarrassed in awkward conversations. I’d actually asked PolarBearSims if it’s possible to make a mod for that but it seems the point is moot at the moment.

Sadly, the fire pit had to go. I spent hours trying to figure out what was causing horrible lag and finally narrowed it down to this. I tried to just put out the fire but they immediately tried to re-light it. When it was burning hot outside!

This really makes having 3 cats easier.

This popped up after canceling the holiday I made to remind me to switch houses. Weird.

I kept using Scumbumbo’s autonomy scan to ban them from doing annoying activities and when doing one of the scans I saw this. Couldn’t find anyone in the area wetting their pants though sadly.

And it kept happening because Aryana kept putting toys on the table!
