This process might seem LONG as it requires like three editors but I can promise it is worth it in the end results.  Photopea for the base,  ezgif for the converting from gif to mp4 and then filmora9 for the very last step.   I have a tutorial on filmora9 in my masterlist post that explains it more. I recommend looking at that as well.   LIKE / REBLOG if you find this helpful.  Feel free to show me what you have done.  Ask any questions if you need in my ask box.  Review things as well.  If you need this tutorial done in a different format to help you see it better please send me a polite ask requesting the style you need to be able to read it.

So to do a transitional gif that I will be using for this. 

Open the GIF up in photopea.

Open your image / screencap overtop the gif. Sharpen it up pretty.

Set blending layer to screen or darken.  Darken makes it like the whites.  Screen likes the blacks.

Add psd and things  Save as gif. 

Changed the cap last minute. still same process. I just decided to really show things I would do two different people in the end.

Make a static image in the same size as your canvas / gif.

Convert your gif file to a mp4.  Important step as video editors don’t really like gifs.

Go to filmora9 open your image and mp4.   I recommend at this step you go read my tutorial on filmora9 just to know what everything is.

Add both mp4 and static image to your timeline.  

Adjust so the static is on the bottom and mp4 is on top.

Double click the mp4 so that this shows up.  chrome key is what you want to click.

Change the select color to either a black or white.  Whatever the setting you didn’t use before.  So if you used screen that likes blacks you are going to want your color to be WHITE and if you used darken that likes whites you are going to want to select the color BLACK.

Export and save it as gif.

Saw this post mention filmora (which I’ve never seen an ad read before) and I use filmora so I’ll toss my hat in the ring:

I don’t know why this guy said filmora took away lifetime subscriptions for people who already have it. The only reason I still use it is because 3 years ago I spent $35 birthday money on it. I guess you can’t get that anymore or something, but I still get free updates. However every single update keeps adding ai stuff, some of which is actually nice and helpful (auto masking) but most is useless chatgpt type slop. I have filmora 13 but I only use the features from 9 because all the new ones are useless if you like having creative input.

Moral of the story is I would have recommended it 3 years ago but now just pirate adobe, also don’t believe everything you read

Take a Taste: with Mang Inasal's Chicken Inasal - Pecho (Chicken Breast) [Recorded: Mar 26th, 2024]

Hello! It’s time for another “Take a Taste”! The series is about delicious food with my two paper dolls.

Aww yeah, another round of going "Mang Inasal" restaurant? Yes, please! 😋 This Time, I'm invited with my parents at the different Mang Inasal branch, on Mar 26th, 2024. 🏢🍴 However, once again, I broke the rules for not eating meat this year's "Holy Week", so please forgive me. 😔 Nevertheless, here's my review of Mang Inasal's famous dish, the "Chicken Inasal", particularly the "Breast" part (in Tagalog we called it "Pecho" [pi-cho]) I ordered 🍴🍗. And let's not forget, the "Unlimited Rice" (or "Unli Rice" for short)! ➕🍚🤤 So will I satisfied with my order as my previous one? 🤔 Let's find out, right now! 😀

• Here's what "Chicken Inasal" looks like in all of its perfect serving 🇵🇭🍗; let alone the slightly mess on my "Unli Rice" green plate. Plus, let's not forget the free warm 'Tamarind Soup' 🇵🇭 🫘 🥣, as well as the condiments that we mentioned in my previous topic, in Jan 2024. *Sniff* (2x) Can you smell the burning charcoal goodness, you two? I bet you are! 🍴🍗🍚🤤 Unfortunately, I didn't get the "Unlimited Java Rice" (over the owing to a different menu. That's all right, I should make another plan, someday. 🤷‍♀️

BTW: We decided to drink water over soda for budget reason. 🥛💧

• Anyway, normally I used cutlery as my main purpose for three meal servings (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner), both at home and at food-related establishments. Just like you're doing it daily. 🍴 However, for this day, it's time to get my hands on the traditional "Filipino Way"! 😁 That's right! We Filipino blood (like myself) use our human hand/hands as our traditional cutlery, whether there's a meal on the plate or a meal on the large banana leaf. The latter was another traditional "Filipino Way" called the "Boodle Fight". 🇵🇭🤲🍚🍗🐟😋 "It's a meal that dispenses with cutlery and dishes. Diners instead practice kamayan and eat straight off the table unlike typical instances of eating with the hands of individual plates", according to my rapid research. 🔍🌐

• Thankfully, I have my recorded video shot at 60fps for the FIRST TIME! 🎦⏺️📱😃 Also, my first muted video sound because it is super noisy inside, even in ✝️ "Holy Week" ⛪. Okay, it's actually two videos I recorded, so I combined them into one (using Filmora 9). 🙂

• All video aside, here's me using my single right hand as my cutlery after I washed my hands (before recording). You can see, I'm picking a small amount of grilled chicken with my bare fingers before I dip in some chicken oil I put some small amount of rice, and shove it through my mouth. It is super DELICIOUS! 🍗🍚🤤 I also doing it again, this time I'm dipping a fuse of chicken oil and some soy sauce! Yum-yum! 😋 Yeah, it could be messy and I should request plastic gloves, but I simply can't help myself without wearing plastic gloves. As for the "Unli Rice", I requested two rounds of steamy rice from the food server before I was done eating and sipping a little tamarind soup, and then I coughed. 😫 I'll be fine, though. 😅

• Overall? Just like before, it was satisfied our taste buds from eating a Chicken Inasal Pecho with Unlimited Rice! Which, by the way, I decided to take home my leftover grilled chicken for any day meal. 🍗😊 And, what can I say? Chicken Inasal did everything right for the past decades, and they never stopped serving the Philippine people (like us)! 🇵🇭🍗😋

• As for the asking price? It cost ₱199 ($3.49) 💵 w/ "Unlimited Rice" included. However, if you want a single shot of steamy rice and not a "Unlimited Rice", then it cost ₱164 ($2.87) 💵 for Solo choice. To me "Rice is Life", so I'm definitely gonna order a meal with "Unlimited Rice". 🍗🍚➕😋

My Brand New Phone case for my Tecno Spark 20 Pro - Part 1 (w/ my paper dolls) [Recorded: Feb 4th, 2024)

Okay, now that you watch the video, here's my spanking brand new phone case for my precious Tecno Spark 20 Pro! 📱🙂 So, let's review with, shall we?

• Once again, let's transition to the photo section, shall we? Here's what it looks like after unwrapping it. It is a thick phone that will snug my Tecno smart, much like the slim counterpart (which came from the box). Unlike the latter, my new phone case had unique tricks on its sleeve (no pun intended), like a swivel metal ring that acts as a stand for portrait and landscape mode, a thin metal inside for placing the magnetic car holder (with the extra support from the aforementioned metal ring), and my favorite is this sliding piece to cover the camera lens from unwanted dust. One thing I noticed was this phone is only suited for "INF Hot 40 4G", meaning its "Infinix Hot 40 4G" smartphone. But as I said in the video, it can also fitted on my Tecno phone, as well. And for those who unaware, both Tecno Mobile and Infinix Mobile companies (as well as Itel Mobile, Carlcare, and Oraimo) were the same roof from the parent company, "Transsion Holdings" [CLICK ME!]. 📱📱😊

• And here's side-by-side with my recent Tecno Spark 20 Pro smartphone, who still wearing the slim phone case from the box's accessories. 🙂 What do you think, you two? • Anyway, here's what it looks like after replacing the slim case. And man, it looks dope, in a good way! 😄 The holes for the speakers, ports, and fingerprint scan we're a perfect fit. Meanwhile, the back of the phone was pretty darn good, especially with that sliding piece. However, I shedding light from the LED flash while it was covered doesn't fit the bill for me. However, nobody is going to do that, right? 🤷‍♀️

Hi!

Do you have any advice for someone looking to get into video editing or just try and figure it out? It’s always seemed kinda fun to me, and I want to know if there’s any beginners resources you have :3

Heya!

In terms of beginner's software, I'm not sure what's out there now. I got my start on Windows Movie Maker, which is now, unfortunately, discontinued, with a much shittier version available to Windows users.

I do know there are a lot of free apps on Mobile, and a quick YouTube or engine search (Google or Firefox) for free software should get you some options.

From there, clear editing advice is all gonna come down to which software you choose to go with, but I do have a few pointers that apply to most, if not all editing to get you started!

1) Audio levels, if you can view them, should stay in the green and yellow zones. Not all software has this option, but some will show you how loud a particular bit of audio is at any given time, represented with several green rectangles, one or two yellow, and a red. If the audio is in the red, that means it's "peaking" and will be too loud.

The reason you wanna look at the visual rather than listen by ear is so that it sounds the same on any device. If you set it depending on how loud you laptop/phone is, then it might be too loud or too soft when you export the final video.

2) If you can, use multiple tracks to edit! Tracks are the lines you drag and drop videos/pictures and audio in. Unless the software only supports one track for each (or even a combined track for both), you can stack clips on top of each other to make timing cuts easier, help with synchronizing with audio, and so much more.

3) If you have the audio and the visuals separated onto two tracks, see if you can't find some kind of tell to make sure they are synced. In films, this is what the clapper is for, the clapper being the board with the striped design on top that they let fall, which makes that loud SMACK! sound before the action starts. It's to help with editing! 🎬

You don't necessarily need a clapper, as something like a snap of the fingers, clap, hit, ect, ANYTHING that makes a loud, definitive noise will suit this purpose. As long as the noise lines up with the frame where contact is made, it'll be synced.

4) Have all your shots laid out in front of you. This is for films moreso than YouTube videos, but if you need to cut between multiple shots, knowing what each of them are beforehand (and which takes you're keeping) is essential to making editing go a lot smoother. I've seen editors who will print out each scene and each shot WITHIN that scene, paste that on their wall, and reference that while editing. That was back in the '70s though, so you may not need to go THAT far, but it never hurts either.

5) If you can, have someone taking notes as you film. This is especially useful for filmmaking. For each shot, have someone sit with the director and write down how each take went-what lines got fumbled, when cut was called early, when takes are good, ECT. This helps GREATLY in editing and will make life SO much easier.

6) Just edit, edit, edit. Doing lots of projects is the one sure-fire way to get good at it. Any software will work to start, but once you know you wanna take it up a notch, already having prior experience will help you get settled in with all the new, flashy features a lot easier.

7) DONT USE ADOBE PRODUCTS. I DONT CARE IF THEYRE "INDUSTRY STANDARD," THEYRE EXPENSIVE AND BAD AND NOT WORTH IT. I personally use Filmora 9, but I've also used Sony Vegas, which is also good. There are other options, don't be fooled.

July 2024 Readings

This has been a busy month for many reasons but one thing that we have been doing is getting back to near-daily posts on the youtube channel of poems from my various collections including Before We Remember We Dream, DEMONSTRA, Tanon Sai Jai, Winter Ink, BARROW, On The Other Side Of The Eye, and Diasporantics, as well as previously uncollected pieces.

This is a bit of a quixotic endeavor considering that when you google Lao Poet, you’re more likely to come acrosss a hotel than an actual Lao poet, living or otherwise. Such is the way of the world, I suppose, but that does not relieve us of our responsibilities to do what we can to fight time and tide.

So, without further ado, here are the July readings for 2024, Year of the Dragon, or, being Lao, Year of the Nak. Some make more sense than others regarding why they were chosen for particular days but I’ll leave it to my readers and listeners to determine why.

For the curious, unless otherwise noted, these videos are shot on a Canon Vixia R800 with a Rode wireless microphone and edited and adjusted in Filmora, although I am tempted to find a better software suite for this matter in the future. One that fits a poet’s budget, of course.

My Brand New Smartphone: Tecno Spark 20 Pro (w/ my paper dolls) [Recorded: Feb 3rd, 2024]

Okay so, what you see here is my brand new smartphone! I introduced to you the "Spark 20 Pro" from the Chinese based company, "Tecno Mobile" [CLICK ME!]! 😁🆕📱 Yes, that's right! I just struck a luck by winning a brand new smartphone in the Youtuber's phone giveaway, since winning another smartphone in 2019 [CLICK ME!]! Aw, Goody-goody joy! 😃🍀 Which we'll to get to that later. Right now, it is time to review of my first Tecno smartphone (feat. my paper dolls) in one sitting!

So, without further ado, let's get started!

• As you've already seen in my recorded video, let's transition to my snapshots. 🙂 Here's the packaging of my brand new smartphone from Tecno. My paper dolls we're already excited to see what it looks like! So, let's reveal it, shall we?

• Tada! Look at that gorgeous smartphone! 😄 On the surface, it mimics the well-known Apple iPhone series, particularly the no. 12 to 15 (and soon beyond). Why? Because of the rear triple camera and the square shape edge. 📷📱 Though, the Spark 20 Pro (and their Spark 20 series) had a bigger lens and bigger edge compared to the modern iPhones. Making it a mockery, but they wouldn't be sued because why not? Also, a bigger lens makes it better quality, right? I'm not sure, but we'll find out. 🤔 So, isn't it beauty, you two? I can't wait to make a snapshot with my new phone! 😊

• Nevertheless, aside from the main phone itself, the box contains a sim ejector tool, a fill up warranty card form (which I was supposedly said that in my video), a 33W wall charger, a USB charging/data transfer cable (Type A to C) that supports 33W, and finally the transparent jelly phone case. There was supposedly another related 12-month warranty card, to no avail because the Youtuber that was originally owned forgot to put it. 😥

• And hey speaking of Youtuber, here's the video about it. ↓😉

• Her name in YT is "Liz Tech", and she's a YouTuber/Vlogger content creator, who has 618K subscribers and 475 videos, as of this typing.

My Real Story here was: While I was browsing and watching phone reviews on the same platform, I saw this particular video w/ the giveaway raffle. 😮 However, should I take chances on winning my own brand new smartphone is like joining a lotto by buying a single ticket. Actually before that, I was utterly jealous and depressed after seeing my family got their cool gifts while I don't during Christmas of 2023. And I was frustrated and crying... For real. 😠😭 So much so, that my little brother and my mom cheering me up by helping me earning some funds to buy a brand new smartphone for 2024. Thankfully, however, it never happened because with one comment entry I made on her Youtube video, she handpicked me as the winner of the brand new smartphone! Rejoice! &lt;='D And yeah, that's my Real Story, but we're not done this topic, yet! <=] So, let's continue.

• So, I've already turned on my new Tecno phone, and here are the specs of this phone. Other features that can do are the ability to create a custom AI wallpaper (and other such things, like changing fonts), a multi-tasking window by opening two or three apps limited, an NFC built-in for NFC-related objects (which I tried with my transportation card and it functions well), two AI sensors located at the aforementioned rear camera, a so called "Dynamic Port" notification located at the above of punch-hole camera, which mimics the iPhone's owned "Dynamic Island", and dual grilled speakers by DTS sound located on the top and bottom side of the phone that can reach up to 400% volume. I tried it on Youtube listening to the Costa Rica video in 1440p, 60fps (though not supported in 4k) and it was pretty damn loud, all right. 🔊📲 Also, I did not mentioned the punch-hole front-facing camera during my recorded video, which possessed a 32-megapixel camera and a surprise hidden flash located on the left side of the phone. 📸📲 And to be honest, It was a huge step up to my Honor 8C's 8 Megapixel front-facing camera. I tried it myself, and it was pretty damn good. Though some might say quite decent. Another thing I want to talk about the processing chipsets, armed with the "Mediatek Helio G99" for the CPU, and "ARM Mali-G57 MC2" for the GPU. Capable of handling selected games with either Ultra (sometimes) or High graphics settings, although notable hiccups depend on what game apps you've played. Meaning, that playing "Genshin Impact" (a HEAVY mobile game, and also not a fan or interested in) could suffer a lower framerate than 30fps. To be honest, I haven't tried it myself because I don't usually play games on mobile game. So, I'm casual here. Meanwhile, the display itself is not an AMOLED display ❌ but rather a Full HD+ IPS display ✔️, which is fair owing to the pricing, and we'll get to that, later in the "Overall" section.

• Honestly, there's so much thing to talk about, its impossible for me to do so. For more info specs about the Tecno Spark 20 Pro 📱, then please → [CLICK ME!]. And if you want more reviews about it, then I suggest that you should search on YouTube. There are tons of reviewers who are try getting hands on the Tecno Spark 20 Pro with their honest thoughts if not many reviewers. Or maybe this one better → [CLICK ME!].

• But, what about the 108 Megapixel camera? Is it good? 🤔 Let's find out, and I have right here! ↓

• Here are my first two snapshots using my new smartphone from Tecno. When I transferred it to my google drive (, which I haven't tried to connect to the PC via USB cable), the images were big at 9000 x 12000 resolution with a quality snapshot size of 12 Megabytes to 16MB and up, and that was from the 108 Megapixels. I also tried the switch off the 108 Megapixel mode, and it's now a normal 50 Megapixel (or something). Which had less resolution and less quality size images at 5 Megabytes to 8 MB, and sometimes at 9 MB. But back to the 108MP mode. I would say, it is pretty neat and again a huge step up to my Honor 8C's least megapixel camera of just 13 Megapixels. However, a 108-megapixel camera doesn't make perfect, though. Because some objects didn't adjust the detail, textures, color balances, and intrusive shadows. So much so, that I decided to make some tweaks before my final decision, which thankfully became an industry standard of editing photos via smartphone rather than transferring them to PC for an hassle editing. And to be honest, the only thing I could adjust on every snapshot is the sharp quality image than anything else. lol 😅🤷‍♀️ On the plus side, it has "Super Night Mode" for a serious snapshots during night hours. Which also I haven't tried it, yet, but I could at least turn off the lights as an alternative way.

BTW: I was surprised, that tumblr can handle the uploading 20MB size of snapshots/artwork rather than 10MB as their limitation. Good for you. 👏😊

• Here are some more photos from the main camera, featuring a sim tray was removed from my Tecno phone, which by the way, a dual sim card and a micro SD card slot expanded up to 1TB capacity size, and two snapshots of the Spark 20 Pro's information specs, with and without a flash. And the latter was A-Okay, I still prefer the Honor 8C's led light over the Tecno Spark 20 Pro, though. Because the led light of the Spark 20 Pro was a bit warmer side than the solid white counterpart. 🤏

• Lastly, the front-facing camera. Here are my examples, and from the looks of these, there once again pretty impressive. Even the details were slightly washed out when it zoom in, though. This is a very step up for my front-facing camera usage. Heck, it even possessed a "Super Night Mode", as well, delivering a decent job. Guess, I don't need to share some more front-facing photos to prove it (I suppose). 😊👍

• All right, I've got one last thing to do before my overall and experience thoughts. Here, I'm comparing the old Honor 8C that I claimed the prize in May of 2019. And you could tell their sizes, heights, camera lenses, and their screens (which were unseen) were completely different from their respective design. Sorry, I never get a chance to take more snapshots of their different sides and button layouts. On the plus side, my paper dolls were appreciated and I've owned two smartphones from my winnings rather than earning profits to buy a brand new one. 😊📱📱

My Experience:

• As of now, I'm still using it within a month, with zero issues, and completely intact whatsoever, even the tempered glass screen protector built-in had no cracks, only minor scratches. My old Honor 8C, on the other hand, showed its aging from usage, the back of the phone had already peeled off from wiping, mostly beside the fingerprint scan, and the tempered glass had two huge lines of cracks when I unlocked the phone. Now back to my Tecno phone, I decided to tweak the battery settings to make it more longevity by lower the refresh rate to "auto" instead of staying 120Hz because of battery consumption. Yes, the 5000mAh battery was huge (at the time), nowadays, it became a default standard on all modern smartphones, particularly the budget line. Another thing was switching off the virtual memory for the same reasons. Still, I have no plans to install heavy mobile games (even if I finally getting hands on the 1TB Micro SD card). I was gonna install "Asphalt 9 Legends", but I was so busy doing things. Other than that, though, it is perfectly fine. 📱😊👍

Overall & Asking Price:

• I'm enjoyed my new smartphone from Tecno Mobile, and man, I'm thankful enough to getting hands on absolutely FREE by winning instead of buying with my earnings. 🥰📱

• As for the price of this phone, this 16GB RAM version I have cost ₱7,999 ($142) 💵, while the 21GB RAM version cost ₱8,499 ($151) 💵, as of March of 2024. (Both from the official online shopping site and physical phone stores nationwide) And despite the pricings, it is officially a "Budget Smartphone" with remarkable specs and neat features that rivals the mid-range/flagship smartphone lines (sometimes). In all honesty, there's not much difference between the two, same specs with different RAM choices. Although, she should've review the 21GB version instead of the 16GB of the same phone, but that's just ME. I think I'm happy with what I've claimed! 📱😊👍
