All work was shot on and printed from 35mm film. Essendo molto fan di Romeo+ Juliet e Moulin Rouge mi aspettavo solo cose belle da questo film. Si riconosce la mano di Baz Luhrmann e ho davvero amato cosa è nato dall’incontro del regista e la storia di Elvis.

Di Elvis sapevo quel poco che bastava, ed è stata una continua scoperta. Un viaggio assurdo nella vita di quello che è probabilmente l’uomo più famoso d’America. Elvis, la scoperta, l’ascesa e i momenti di difficoltà. Il colonnello Tom Parker che sembra quasi un villain Marvel, interpretato da un meraviglioso Tom Hanks, ma non siamo sorpresi.

Non sono sorpresa neanche di Austin Butler,in realtà. Lo seguo da Nickelodeon e credo che abbia avuto il suo momento di gloria in questo film. Non solo interpreta Elvis in modo eccezionale, ma Austin scompare. C’è solo Elvis Presley. Le movenze, la faccia, il viso, quell’alone di mistero che solo un divo di Hollywood può avere attorno. Austin Butler ha portato a casa una performance che resterà nella storia e credo che gli aprirà le porte ad un successo strepitoso.

Io sono una mega fan dei biopic, partendo da quelli su personaggi meno noti fino ad arrivare a grandi icone mondiali. Come ho amato Bohemian Rhapsody e Rocketman anche Elvis resterà inciso della mia memoria.

Visto in italiano, stupendo il doppiaggio di Angelo Maggi (ovviamente), ma davvero Chapeau a Maurizio Merluzzo che da la voce a Austin Butler facendo trasparire ogni emozione, ogni stato d’animo.
