The F60 was introduced in late 1998 and was aimed at the lower end of the amateur autofocus SLR market.

This indeed seems like a cheap and bulky point and shoot camera, the only reason I got this was to own a champagne silver Nikon camera and nothing else. Nowadays cameras are just plastic but back then the transition from Aluminium body started here with the F60. The F60 body was made from polycarbonate and metal, and available in both "champagne silver" and black.

It features compatibility with most older Nikkor F-mount lenses, except AFS and pre-AI lenses. However, in some cases autofocus and/or TTL metering is not supported. I've used the kit lens 28-80 silver that came with it and to my surprise was this lens is very sharp when I used it with my Nikon DSLR, but using it with the F60 body looks like I've managed to get out of focus shots! ( Maybe I should just blame it on this prehistoric autofocus system)

All in all it felt like a Grandma's DSLR I'm shooting with, a bulky point and shoot blown out of proportion. But the lens Nikon AF 28-80mm still gets my vote better than the Camera it came with.Here are the photos taken with Nikon F60.
