It’s time for a sequel huh?
Who else is EXCITED for: Red, White & Royal Blue 2 ?
Yes it’s official, Amazon & MGM have GREEN-LIT the sequel.
Let your movie titles creative juices flow in the comments or reposts.
My idea is:
Red, White & Royal Engagement 🍾 (2nd movie)
[Doing it this way so, we can get the 3rd film. Either: Red, White & Royal Wedding or Red, White & The Historic Wedding]
♥️ 🤍 💙 🇺🇸 🥂 🇬🇧 💙 🤍 ♥️

What kind of art is your favorite? (journal prompt)
7 arts; architecture, sculpture, painting, literature, music, performing, & film
I can’t simply pick one but rather 3; literature, music & film.
Literature- books have provided a form of escapism for me but I must admit made me lonely in some manner. I didn’t realize it until I made friends & stopped needing them as comfort. They’re able to craft entire worlds in the form of words majorly, unless comic books or graphic novels are more your thing. Which is more than okay, doesn’t make them less than. But book weren’t created to only be analyzed or blindly enjoyed. A balance is needed, overanalyzing made me despise reading & my intelligence but blindly enjoying books made me blind to the racism, homophobia, misogyny & others unnoticed.
Music-music can somehow tell more through it’s sound & silence than a conversation can. I’m bad when it comes to speaking but not b/c I choose to be but b/c I don’t what to say or when to speak. Hell, if you asked me how I’m feeling, I’d rather answer w/ music than words. Music can tell stories of tragedy, love, happiness, even one’s laughter. But it can also document history & civilization; Native Americans use everything when it comes to the animals they hunt yet on the other hand, there’s baroque, classical and romantic periods. It’s able to catalogue the colonizer and the colonized.
Film-film is one of the art realms that merges the 2 mentioned above. Not only that but it tells a story through plot, music & clothing. It’s analyzed by the public and the critic alike. I never really thought of it as an art form until I watched an episode of Abstract; the art of design. It was on Ruth Carter, the costume designer behind Black Panther, Malcom X, & Selma. In a way, I was so focused on the characters & plot of movies, that I forgot about those working behind the scenes due to schooling. Along with that, I started following Human Espresso on TikTok whose content made me stop questioning how one could possibly be so interested in film.

Hey! Just an update as my queue is now empty, warning this does talk about some health stuff! (Firstly, masterlist here for navigation)
Tomorrow I'm having a surgery, my second laparoscopy, a mirena insertion and a surgical procedure for bladder endometriosis. I'm pretty nervous but I'm especially nervous as it'll be my first laparoscopy since my lupus diagnosis. One of my organs that has endometriosis is my kidneys, which is also an organ concern for lupus. (Feel free to give movie recs here as I'll probably check some stage over the next few days)
I've had what feels like non-stop lupus flare ups the last year so I'm extremely anxious. I was hoping to finish writing a fic and schedule post some fundraisers etc but that just didn't happen because this weekend but I've been 1) extremely busy with so many things, 2) depressed because of what happened here and 3) really anxious! I haven't been as active on tumblr the last month and like 80% of posts have been scheduled.
I won't be posting for a few days if not weeks and I can't guarantee when I'll be posting or replying to messages. Maybe during this recovery period I'll be able to finish the Shiv Roy x reader, and Kendall Roy x reader Desperate to Please sequel, and start my Nathan Bateman series. So please don't hate me for the wait, I'm sorry! You're more than welcome to send thoughts in, comment or message though!
Please give me movie and show recs too! If you've given me recs in the last few months please feel free to drop them here again to remind me, I've got a notebook to actually write them in and not just do mental lists lol.
Also, if you can please donate to and share some of these campaigns for Palestinians here Vetted Gaza Evacuation Fundraiser List - Google Sheets and follow @gaza-evacuation-funds, @/nabulsi, @/el-shab-hussein, and @/90-ghost!

The 28th Arab Film Festival is happening in San Francisco from October 24th-October 3rd! There is also a virtual pass available for those in North America not in the area!
I'm not American so unfortunately won't be able to check out this awesome festival but I really recommend it to those in the US/North America, the titles released so far look awesome and on opening night they're screening 'Life is Beautiful: A Letter to Gaza' which is a Palestinian documentary. Alana Hadid will also be present at their screening as it's being distributed by 'Watermelon Pictures' which she's the creator and creative director of.
More information about the films and passes at the link below.

Palestine Media: Ismail
Ismail is a Palestinian short film directed by Nora Alsharif. The film is inspired by the Palestinian artist and historian Ismail Shammount, it's a day in the life short of Ismail and his younger brother after their family was expelled from their homes after the Nakba.
It's a tense day and the short perfectly shows the horrors of the Nakba how this didn't start in October 2023, and the courage and kindness in the Palestinian spirit.
I really recommend this short film and you can watch it below on Youtube for free. I'll try to post Palestinian films/books more regularly too.

I just saw Eve's Bayou and wow.... it's such an amazing film! It had been in my watchlist for a while and I'm so glad I finally watched it. It's mind blowing to think this is Kasi Lemmon's directorial debut. It's so well written, filmed and acted. Jurnee Smollett blew my mind! What an amazing child actor performance.
I'm not American, so I don't think I've seen as many southern gothic films or shows as others have but it was really cool to see a southern gothic with an all black cast and a black woman writer-director. A really powerful film that I recommend! I know a lot of my American mutuals have probably already seen it.
