I has have the strength to become the me I’ve always wanted to become….because I told myself I did and still tell myself I do! 😲 This is me 20 years ago just out of Rehab after a catastrophic car accident. Doctors told my parents and family I had 2% chance to live and would be a vegetable if I were to open my eyes 🥕 . But it is you who decides what you will be. Yes, medically speaking sometimes the fight feels relentless…but do you feel it as relentless because you actually feel like it is or because that’s what you’ve been told it should be? 🤔….🤥 . “Predictions” are NOT facts, they are opinions - well formed but still only opinions. And the more you do, the more of those “predictions” you challenge the more “predictions” will be made and they will continue to change as you do. 💯💯💯 . Yesterday I decided it was time to cut my lawn. I had been holding off after being told I had epicondylitis in my left arm - this is tendinitis on the opposite side of arm and of course my dominant arm 💪 . But my yard was a mess and it needed done. So I wrapped my arm and when I couldn’t start it at first asked my neighbour to help. But after he got it started I thankfully was able to every time after when it kicked out 😎 ….but it did this a minimum of 30 times before my lawn was even 2 thirds cut 🤦‍♀️ and then literally died completely 🙄 . And then there was me. With music in my ears singing my heart out, dancing with the mower in order to keep the engine running as long as I could, laughing at mistakes, sticking my head in what felt like forests of lilacs I would walk by 💯 . Even to the point that when I found my one hand with blisters torn open and what felt like burns from the torrent of pulls on the cord I made and what did I do? I saw the blister torn open on my finger looked like a perfectly shaped heart ❤️ and I smiled 🥰 was it really all that bad? My backyard looks a hell of a lot cleaner, the birds literally flocked to the fresh cut area, my dog Frankie is no longer walking in a jungle, and I’m no longer worried about stepping in dog poop 🫣 and even better I was able to clear the area for my garden and able to freshen up little pet graves in the yard, too, so I can plant some perennials over them as their forever flowers 🌺 . Our perspective shifts absolutely everything. Are you really having a bad day or do you just feel like you’re supposed to with the environment you’re in or the people around you? Because we control our minds we have the power to control our emotions and what we do in response to them 💯 .
