How does booping work here?

(Genuine question)

booping is basically just a fun lil thing that gets everyone interacting/spamming the absolute hell out of with cat paws ranging from normal, super, evil and revenge boops (the last three have special mechanics to enable them !! super boop = holding the paw icon for one shake and letting go, evil boop = two/three shakes, and revenge = an option given if someone does an evil boop to u)

to enable it u will have a little punpkin-like game console called the B00p-o-meter at the top of ur dashboard !! it gives u the option to “start” or “opt out”, and start will allow u to boop + others to boop u :)

once u start, blogs that have also allowed the booping will have a “boop” option beside their url !! but if u want to do the super and evil boops, then u can go to that persons blog and there will be a circuluar cat paw in the bottom right that allows u to do all the other mechanics ^^

Okay so, I think it's very likely that after Stede and Ed have had their first reunion they're gonna be separated again soon after. Probably because Ed's gonna be like "I'm totally over you actually and don't wanna see your stupid face ever again" and run away from Stede just because of how absolutely tooooootally over him he is, right? So Stede will probably be aboard the Revenge while Ed is elsewhere having his Live Laugh Love spiritual journey of Finding Himself and all that.

Now imagine Stede all bummed out because he's just having the full realisation of exactly how much he hurt Ed, and there's no hope, he absolutely blew it, Ed obviously wants nothing to do with him ever again! Despair! So he goes to mope to the Captain's quarters, wallows in the tragic state of them a bit while missing Ed terribly, and his eyes catch on a funky little skeleton dressed up all in black on a familiar spot on a particular shelf...

And he finds not only all of his auxiliary clothes intact, but also a nest in the middle of the room with two little figurines in it that have a very particular look to them!

Cue "Hello, Edward!" and "shipmates" and chasing Ed all over the place while Ed is like "who are you again?" and "I don't need you at all, look how I'm thriving all by myself and I definitely don't miss you, not even a little bit!", y'know, like a liar. And maybe they're having messy sex throughout all of this or maybe they're not, but either way, Stede knows! He knows! He saw the proof of Ed's heart carefully hidden away where only Stede could find it! He can fix this! He's gonna put his all into earning that trust back! Because he knows there's hope! ;U;

And yeah, this is more of a headcanon than actual speculation, but it's eating me alive, so I had to inflict it on you all as wel! 🔥🙌🔥

Why do you like jesters so much?

the short answer is that im silly

the long answer primarily comes down to my fascination with what how they can be used as a narrative tool. though a jester is a job of entertainment, its existence symbolizes how art, theatre, comedy, poetry, and physicality are capable of great political influence. the general throughline of "funny guy makes biggest change" is an intriguing narrative that can be applied to just about every time period and setting in history, and i have SO many stories i'd like to tell centering around various fools.

i'm not trying to write an essay here because im honestly kind of low on time at the moment of writing this but i could talk for hours about how fascinating i think the history of Jesterism is. it's just really interesting to me how the point of a jester is to literally make a fool of themself (and of others) but it takes incredible wit and talent to be successful and looking stupid.

if i had more time, i'd go into these topics:

the "Wise Fool" archetype and how shakespeare utilizes fools

the various clowns of commedia dell'arte

beatrice k. otto's book "fools are everywhere"

jesters historical presence in political protest / control

the power of anonymity and the perception of art vs artist

jesters vs clowns compare and contrast, and why i'm often (but not always lol) pretty careful about keeping "clowncore" elements out of my jester designs (i LOVE clowns i just use them as a different thematic symbol than jesters so the distinction between them is important for me to define in my head.........but i still like to mash them together sometimes)
