I wrote a guest post for @ramonameadblogger 🎉📚❤️‍🔥,
You can find it on her book blog ramonamead.com. It's all about Happily Ever Afters, what they are, what they aren't, and why most of my books don't have them.
If you're a book blogger looking for guest posts from authors, let me know! I'd love to write a little article for you. My favorite topics include dark romance, feminist themes, and smutty works of art.

I was overjoyed when @emmy9394 bought me a copy of Amelia Westlake by @erinoko all the way from Aus! I miss reading Australian stories, especially the #loveozya ones! Amelia Westlake was the top of my wishlist upon my return to Aus so I’m very, very happy to have a copy now. . Set in an elite private school, two openly gay females - both beautifully flawed and imperfect - call to light the dark underbelly of the school where sexism, elitism and favouritism are rife amongst the staff using art, and the power of ordinary people! We’re currently living in a socio-political climate where girl power - while not a new concept - is challenging the way we think. I am loving this new wave of political contemporary YA - think Moxie by @authorjenmathieu and the upcoming Watch Us Rise by @harlemportland and Ellen Hagan - where females are fighting for what they believe in, and each other, and celebrating their triumph. I really hope that these empowered female characters will inspire the females in real life to be their fabulous, kickass selves! . #ameliawestlake #feminism #feministbooks #bookreview #feministbookclub #bookblogger #bookworm #bibliophile #bookish #fullybooked #booklife #booksbooksbooks #booklover #bookgeek #booknerd #lovebooks #instabooks #rainbowlife #queerstoies #lgbtqia #lgbtbooks #lgbt #lgbtlit #pridebooks #pridereads #diversereads #ausyabloggers (at Liverpool) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqcDWqTH2aN/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=jo2mzhk53t7u

Happy Summer! Today is the official first day of summer 🕶 . What’s your most anticipated read this summer? . One of mine is Mother of All by Jenna Glass. It’s the third book in her Women’s War trilogy. It’s a bit of a large book but then it’s an epic fantasy. . Book blurb: An evil new magic threatens to undo all the progress women have made in the third and final book in Jenna Glass's riveting feminist fantasy series, following The Women's War and Queen of the Unwanted. . In the once male-dominated world of Seven Wells, women now control their own reproduction, but the battle for equality is far from over. Even with two thrones held by women, there are still those who cling to the old ways and are determined to bring them back. . Now into this struggle comes a darker power. Delnamal, the former King of Aalwell, may have lost his battle to undo the spell that gave women reproductive control, but he has gained a terrible and deadly magic—and he uses these new abilities to raise an army the likes of which the world has never seen. Delnamal and his allies seem like an unstoppable force, destined to crush the fragile new balance between men and women. . Yet sometimes it is possible for determined individuals to stem the tide, and it falls to a unique triad of women—maiden, mother, and crone—to risk everything . . . not only to preserve the advances they have won but to change the world one final time. . A portion of the author’s proceeds from this book is being donated to Planned Parenthood, in support of women’s reproductive freedom. . . . . #firstdayofsummer #allthebooksjune21 #netgalley #netgalleyreads #motherofall #womenswar #jennaglass #fantasyreadersofinstagram #fantasytrilogy #epicfantasy #highfantasy #feministbookclub #feministfantasy #womensreproductivefreedom #plannedparenthood #bookstagram #bookstagrammademedoit #bookblogger #bookbloggersofinstagram #bookbloggers #bookbloggerlife #fantasy #fantasybooks #fantasyreadersofig #fantasyreaders #bookdragon #bookrecommendations #tessatalksbooks #booklover #bibliophile (at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQYgLoGr6cY/?utm_medium=tumblr

Hello ladies!
When we were talking about books today, I have to admit I nerded out a little bit lol. BUT I wanted to share a few things, if you’re interested. I fully understand if you’re not into reading or don’t have time because you’re still studying! Reading for fun is something I wish I had made more time for during nursing school, because it really is satisfying reading something that interests you but isn’t mandatory lol.
Goodreads is a cool app to keep track of books you read, write reviews, follow authors, and find new books to read. I’ve been using it for several years now and it’s pretty handy.
My local library gives cardholders the option to check out physical books from multiple branches (if the one you want to go to doesn’t have it, they’ll have it on hold for you within a couple days usually) or you can download the Libby app and read them on your phone/iPad/computer. There are a ton of audiobooks too! The coolest part, though, is that if you want a book that none of the branches have, you can request a book on their website. Most books I’ve asked for have been purchased by the library! So awesome 👏 - it’s like getting a free book, that other people get to read when I’m done!!!
Feminist Book Club is one of my favorite new podcasts. There’s also an actual monthly book club you can subscribe to, but I like listening to the weekly podcast because the founder/host Renee interviews all different women authors. One of my favorite reads so far has been The Farm. Each chapter is written from the perspective of a different woman, all of whom are somehow related within the larger storyline. It’s almost futuristic without being too dystopian (more realistic); several of the characters live on a beautiful farm while they carry, as surrogate mothers, the future children of their clients - extremely wealthy customers willing to pay top dollar to ensure the young mothers have only the best diets, healthcare, housing, and amenities. My favorite part of the novel, though, is it's beautiful portrayal of Filipino Americans, including work ethics, family ties, and making the ultimate sacrifices.
Last but not least, is a funny and sometimes raunchy little podcast called FBOL aka Fuck Bois of Literature. The host examines classic literature like Jane Austen, but also Harry Potter, Babysitters Club, Edgar Allen Poe, etc. with her guest hosts, who are authors or fellow reading aficionados themselves. Examples of episode topics include Game of Thrones, Great Gatsby, Greek Mythology - basically any context in which fuck bois abound!

We 💜@feministbookclubbox! Happy Small Business Saturday! "I'm Renee Powers. I founded Feminist Book Club in the spring of 2018 to connect feminist who love to read with their next favorite book and with other feminist readers. I also wanted to utilize my gender studies degrees in a way that creates actionable change. Over time, Feminist Book Club also became a space to showcase the businesses of other woman and minority genders. We've featured innovative products like @vixedbco vegan baking mix and sassy products like @flipem_thebird gloves. We've celebrated kidpreneurs with @confidentgrlnet bath bombs and Jewish grandmas with @matzoproject. And to continue the celebration, WE'RE RUNNING A SALE ON ALL OUR PREVIOUS BOXES! Studies have shown that when we shop at woman-owned businesses, we can lift generations out of poverty. So why shop just one woman-owned business when you can get a box (or two... or three...) of books and products from several at once? Head to feministbookclub.com/shop to check out the sale (link in bio). No code necessary!" . .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #feministbookclub #bookclub #booksubscription #goodreads #feminist #booklover #booksharks #feministbook #bookofthemonth #instareads #bibliophile #bookblogger #intersectionalfeminism #booksale #booksubscriptionbox #bookobsessed #readingislife #fortheloveofbooks #bookworms #favoritebooks #feministreads #subscriptionbox⁣⁣ #shopsmall #womanownedbusiness #smallbusinesssaturday #smallbizsaturday #smallbiz #womanowned #blackfriday #holidaygifts https://www.instagram.com/p/B5f2JgMleXn/?igshid=nt3hqyxcr42l
