My ovulation tracker suddenly asked what state I live in
🇵🇸 🕊️ BURN THE PATRIARCHY
"It said telling them was required to continue using the app.
The fuck it is.
I deleted it immediately. Like I’m gonna risk police showing up to my door if I miss a month due to non-pregnancy reasons.
Update: I just went to the tracker’s spot in the App Store to leave a review warning other potential users. According to the last few reviews that were written, I am NOT the first user since the last update who noticed and immediately deleted.
I have no problem naming and shaming the app, but I’m unsure if it’s allowed. If a moderator could let me know if I’m allowed to name the app or not, I’d really appreciate it!
Edit #2: I’ve gotten permission to name the app as long as we don’t go brigading. The app is called Ovia. Avoid it like the plague!"

"we like young women because biologically, that means they're fertile"
then why do you find periods disgusting? those are the single most indicative sign of fertility. by that logic, you must be incredibly attracted to a women who speaks openly about her period, right?

I’ll never understand why periods are so hush hush but men can say “I failed NNN”
Like I didn’t consent to that info and yet it’s fine for you to say but when I mention something I have actually no control over and just happens with my body, I’m gross? Period blood is literally the only blood that didn’t come from harm or violence and that’s gross to you??? Because of where it comes out of???? Didn’t you just use your left hand pretending it was one???? It’s embarrassing for me to leak in my pants and warrants bullying but you can openly talk about watching porn and that’s not embarrassing? You can admit to not washing your ass cuz it makes you gay but I’m gross for having a functioning reproductive system? I can’t say that “sorry I’m on my period that’s why I wasn’t at school” cuz that makes it awkward but it’s okay for boys to yell in the back of the class talking about how they went raw in their gf and by the sound of it probably hurt her? I will never understand why periods of all things are what’s gross to people.

Something I think about a lot is how women, myself included, have been afraid of being pregnant even when we haven't had any sexual contact with a man. To me that says something but I'm not entirely sure what

Women, please stop undermining your period pain. Complain about it, be annoyed, grit your teeth, clench your stomach, do everything you need because men need to start getting it into their head how bad it is.
I’m gay, so I have more male friends than my straight counterparts, and oh my gods, they don’t get it.
When I was talking to my friend, he was so genuinely shocked when I said period pains have made me throw up before, and some women can even faint. Because women are always undermining their pain. We are taught periods are a thing to be so constantly ashamed of, when they’re not! So be obvious, don’t hide it and ask for the help you need.

"you can say you've had to use menstrual products in your life (gender euphoria) :)"
What would that "gender euphoria" look like in Tanzania? (source)
Why don't you miss out on crucial parts of your education because of "gender euphoria"? (source)
(source)
(source)
(source)
Why don't you spend 18,000 pounds on overtaxed sanitary products for your "gender euphoria"?
or why don't you give yourself an infection every once in a while for your "gender euphoria"? Why don't you stop eating for a couple of days to afford your overpriced period products? (source)
Ah, yeah, I know why. Because womanhood for you is just picking and choosing the things you like and not doing the things you dislike. Good for you, but a lot of us don't have that privilege.

that clip of nirmala sitharaman implying patriarchy does not exist because indira gandhi was the PM of India and women work in ISRO etc. literally has comments of males opposing her (surprisingly no character assassinations or misogynistic slurs).
these women are for real the biggest hinderances to our liberation. how exactly is the rest of the world to take the feminist cause seriously when educated women in power have such pick-me coded things to say?
#i think if a male politician said that no one would care though#that is also a function of patriarchy pls someone let her know#i support all women but some of y’all are like this tax lady and that irani period leave bad lady#text posts#desi tumblr#radblr#radical feminism#radical feminist safe#feminism#radical feminists do interact#radical feminist community#terfsafe#terfblr

I don't know how many people remember this, but 2000s internet feminism was obsessed with trying to rehabilitate the reputation of periods with all kinds of stupid reheated divine feminine, feel connected to your womanhood, all negatives are socially constructed, etc bullshit. 4chan had its fun creating extreme versions of this stuff, but they didn't invent it whole cloth. It was inescapable. Anyway, I'm so glad people have moved on and are no longer trying to convince everyone that periods are awesome. So happy that it's now uncontroversial to say that shit sucks.
#I wish I could remember more of the blogs from back in the day#This was back when you had to bookmark everything and periodically go load the blog to see if it had updated#Sadly my bookmarks were lost several computers ago and were on a shared family machine regardless#It would be interesting to take a look from a historical perspective#I'm sure Tumblr was the same when it was invented#But I never looked - I think I looked at feminist tags at some point in the early 2010s and immediately noped back out literally forever

This is available on my Redbubble (MothraMade)! I think it's pretty good for my first time using an art program and not something specifically designed for making cross stitch patterns. If you do cross stitch and embroidery the pattern is on my Etsy (also MothraMade), otherwise here's the link if you'd like to get this design as a sticker or something!

Endometriosis is a chronic condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it, causing symptoms like pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, pain during sex, and infertility. Treatment for endometriosis depends on the severity of the symptoms, your overall health, and whether you want to have children in the future. Here are the main approaches that can help manage endometriosis:
1. Pain Management
• NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs): Over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen or naproxen can help reduce pain and inflammation associated with endometriosis.
• Prescription Pain Medications: For more severe pain, doctors might prescribe stronger painkillers or opioids for short-term use.
• Heat Therapy: Applying a heating pad or warm compress to the abdomen can help relieve pain and muscle spasms.
• TENS Therapy: A transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) unit, which delivers electrical impulses to the skin, can sometimes help with pain relief.
2. Hormonal Treatments
Hormonal therapies are often used to reduce or eliminate menstruation, as periods can worsen endometriosis symptoms.
• Birth Control Pills: Combined oral contraceptives (the pill) can help regulate periods and reduce pain by suppressing ovulation.
• Progestin-only Treatments: Progestin injections, implants, or intrauterine devices (IUDs) can help control the growth of endometrial tissue.
• GnRH Agonists: These drugs, such as Lupron or Zoladex, work by shutting down ovarian hormone production and inducing a temporary menopausal state, which can help shrink endometrial tissue and reduce pain. However, they often have significant side effects, including hot flashes and bone thinning.
• Danazol: This synthetic male hormone can reduce estrogen levels and shrink endometrial tissue, but it has side effects like acne and weight gain.
• Aromatase Inhibitors: These medications decrease estrogen production and can be used in combination with other treatments.
3. Surgical Treatment
Surgery can be considered for women with severe symptoms or if other treatments haven’t worked.
• Laparoscopy: This minimally invasive procedure allows the surgeon to remove or destroy endometrial tissue. It’s commonly used to treat endometriosis when other treatments aren’t effective.
• Hysterectomy: In cases where endometriosis is severe and other treatments have not worked, a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) may be considered, sometimes with removal of ovaries. However, this is typically only recommended for women who no longer wish to have children.
• Excision or Ablation: Surgeons may remove endometriotic lesions or use laser or heat to destroy the tissue.
4. Lifestyle and Complementary Therapies
• Diet: Some studies suggest that a diet rich in anti-inflammatory foods (such as omega-3 fatty acids from fish or flaxseeds, and antioxidants from fruits and vegetables) may help alleviate some symptoms. Reducing intake of red meat, trans fats, and processed foods may also be beneficial.
• Exercise: Regular physical activity can improve overall well-being, reduce inflammation, and potentially help manage pain.
• Acupuncture: Some women report pain relief and improved symptoms with acupuncture, although more research is needed to fully support its effectiveness.
• Stress Reduction: Practices like yoga, mindfulness, or meditation can help manage stress and may contribute to pain relief.
• Supplements: Some people find that omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, curcumin (from turmeric), and magnesium help reduce pain and inflammation, though it’s important to talk to a healthcare provider before starting any supplements.
5. Fertility Treatments
If endometriosis is affecting fertility, treatments such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) may be recommended. Fertility-preserving options like egg freezing may also be considered for women who want to preserve their fertility before pursuing aggressive treatments.
6. Alternative Therapies
• Herbal Remedies: Some women explore herbal treatments like chamomile, ginger, or vitex (chaste tree), which are believed to help with menstrual regulation and pain. However, their efficacy is not well-established, and some herbs can interact with other medications.
• CBD Oil: Some women report relief from pain with CBD oil, though more research is needed.
7. Support and Counseling
• Support Groups: Connecting with others who have endometriosis can provide emotional support and practical advice on managing symptoms.
• Counseling or Therapy: Chronic pain conditions like endometriosis can lead to mental health struggles, such as anxiety or depression. Therapy or counseling can help you cope with the emotional impact of the condition.
Managing Endometriosis in Daily Life
• Track Your Symptoms: Keeping a symptom diary can help you and your doctor understand your condition better and tailor treatments accordingly.
• Work-Life Balance: It can be challenging to manage work, school, or social activities when you’re in pain. Finding accommodations at work or school and giving yourself permission to rest is essential for managing the condition.
• Educate Yourself: Knowledge is empowering. Understanding your condition and the available treatment options can help you make informed decisions about your health.
Consultation with a Healthcare Provider
Since endometriosis varies widely in its severity and impact on different individuals, it’s important to work closely with a healthcare provider to find the most appropriate treatment for your specific case. In some instances, a specialist in gynecology or reproductive health may be necessary for optimal care.
