“They start as part of this (implied) cult that is trying to kill Drac (the PC) but if you choose mercy rather than vengeance, you get to invite them into the bachelor style monster dating show that Grim has forced you to take part in. The more you meet with them, the more you introduce them to the outside world. They've only ever known being part of Van Helsing, part of the angelic blood cult, so they have no idea what they actually like. They've only ever dressed like a Van Helsing, eaten like a Van Helsing, acted like a Van Helsing. But as you get them to open up, they try new things and learn that it's okay to be your own person. They can just be Jules. Drac loves to go on dinner dates with them (even though Drac can't eat food) and just watch them as they try all manner of new food. Plus they have this quest where they need a holy relic near them because of the whole being angelic blood and Drac can risk his very unlife to find and bring back to the holy relic so that Jules can feel better. Even if this means that Drac might burn from the holy abilities. And Jules is just so shocked that anyone, especially the monster they'd been trained to hate, would risk so much for someone like them. It's just so soft.”

Garrus knew he was far from an expert on Collector communication, but this Harbinger’s tone was always the same - not flat, but contained, without inflection or variance. “More will always come.” “Maybe,” Shepard said, aiming her shotgun, “but you won’t be here to greet them.” She fired three times in rapid succession. Harbinger staggered, dropping its feet to the ground, and then looked up at Shepard again. The edges of its flesh were disintegrating to ash as it locked eyes with her. “This body is irrelevant - the flesh is a machine. More will come, and we will be with them.” ~ Horizon brings surprises - and a reckoning.
