no more backhanded compliments lol i've never thought of the sentiment "i like your version of (character) more than the original (which sucks)!" as a nice thing to hear because personally i don't believe my version of a character to be so far from the original that it should change your mind like that. i make fanwork of stuff that i enjoy in canon for a reason and if what i create makes you reconsider something from the source material i hope that it's just that... a reconsideration and not a reimagination that only exists in fanon. i like the thing!! in canon!! and talking shit about it while praising my work doesn't make me feel good

AAAAAAAA Congrats Team Past!!!!! There’s something sentimental about the Squid Sisters getting that one last win, but together this time. Don't get me wrong, I 100% wanted Present to win (since I was y'know on the team), and Future fought hard. But I don't know, maybe it's the fact the last time they participated in a Splatfest it was straight up against each other, and then in the second game they literally WERE fighting each other. So for them to win the final(?) Splatfest together is just cathartic. And in a way it kinda puts the final lid onto the New Squidbeak Splatoon story line. What started out as Cuttlefish trying to relive the past turned into what it is today and for the near future. ALSO OFF TOPIC BUT I love the cute little moment Deep Cut had after the score reveal but I DO NOT like how foreboding Frye's words were like girl take that back of course you're all still gonna be together in the future right Nintendo?

i wish it wasn't so normal for people to complain about unfinished wips or fics that take a long time to update. because sometimes i think i have a really fun idea for a fic but it'd take a while for me to write, and i like talking about my work as i do it and i don't like writing entire fics over like 20k without sharing, because i lose steam. so if i were to write and post that cool fic idea, it'd be as a wip. and then i think about all the people who just refuse to engage with wips, or all the other people who would just go "update pls" all the time, and of how people only really comment in the first 24 hours something is posted and then it's lost to obscurity, and then i just go "actually whats the point in going through the effort writing this out? i'll just daydream about it now and then and be done with it." and then i don't write it. alas!
