no more backhanded compliments lol i've never thought of the sentiment "i like your version of (character) more than the original (which sucks)!" as a nice thing to hear because personally i don't believe my version of a character to be so far from the original that it should change your mind like that. i make fanwork of stuff that i enjoy in canon for a reason and if what i create makes you reconsider something from the source material i hope that it's just that... a reconsideration and not a reimagination that only exists in fanon. i like the thing!! in canon!! and talking shit about it while praising my work doesn't make me feel good

#satsusays #i know not everyone will feel the same but 99% of the time i am a canon truther #idk i just don't like this idea of the Only Good Version of something existing in fanon... like how did we get here fellas #more than anything i just dislike the idea of fandom becoming an endless cycle of recycled fanon instead of like #actually. looking back at the source material. LMAO #i just think fandom makes for a more interesting experience when i hear what people have to say after seeing canon themselves #instead of basing everything off fandom expectations... blehh whatever
