bakugou is not quiet. his explosions are loud, he screams his head off when he's angry (when is he not angry?) — bakugou is always loud as fuck. he's brash, hot-headed, and loud. you, of all people, knew that. he was your best friend since childhood, after all.

bzzt. you felt your phone vibrate slightly from where it rested against your thigh.

katsuki💣: Outside.

you slowly rise from the couch where you had originally sat waiting, wincing at the faint creak from the movement. subconsciously holding your breath, you cautiously tiptoed your way from the living room to the front door, key in hand.

at the door, you couldn't help the smile on your face as you looked through the peephole to see — lo and behold — katsuki, in a tank top, hands tucked into the pockets of his sweatpants. your grin widened.

katsuki sneaking over was nothing new. your secret midnight rendezvous with him started in your first year of highschool.

the moment the recess bell rang, and you had whipped out your gameboy from under the desk, turning it on to boot the newest game to you and katsuki's shared collection — Godzilla: Domination!

"the hell?" katsuki grunted, peering over your shoulder as he frowned at your gameboy. "when did ya get to level 5?" he demanded. you didn't have to look his way to know that katsuki was already scowling. still, despite how indignant he sounded, he dragged a nearby chair to sit next to you, holding his own gameboy.

"last night!" you chirped. "which level are you on?"

there was a slight pause before katsuki answered. "...3," he muttered through gritted teeth.

your hands fell as you placed the gameboy onto your desk, turning around to face katsuki with a cheeky smile. "gonna let me beat ya?"

"hell nah," katsuki smirked. "clearly someone's been stressin' 'bout losin', stayin' up to play games. ya gettin' enough sleep? 'sides, playin' on your own is cheatin'."

"oh, please," you scoffed. "that's not a rule. what, you gonna watch over me at night to make sure i'm sleeping or something?"

that night, katsuki snuck over, clad in an All Might shirt and sweats. the two of you bickered over your blanket until you both fell asleep, with your head on his chest and his arm wrapped around you.

you expertly twisted the doorknob, firmly but gently, and pulled the door open carefully such that it didn't squeak or creak.

you playfully raised a finger to your lips, silently shushing katsuki, as though he didn't already know to be quiet by now. with a roll of his eyes, katsuki stepped into your house and made his way to your room.

you entered your room to see katsuki already laying in your bed, legs crossed. as you closed the door behind you, he took his phone out of his pocket to place it next to yours, on your bedside table.

you yawned quietly, a few tears springing to your eyes as you waddled to your bed.

"ha, weakling," katsuki teased, yet he uncrossed his legs and shifted to the edge of the bed to make space for you. (you had once rolled yourself off the bed and woken the both of you up. since then, you had always preferred sleeping on the side of the bed next to the wall. katsuki made fun of you for being a big baby, but he always scooted over anyway.)

you crawled into bed, settling down with your head on his chest as usual. you hummed contentedly as you felt katsuki's arms wrap around you, wiggling your way up to bury your face into the crook of his neck.

"you're so warm, 'suki," you sighed, eyes fluttering closed as you wrapped your arms around his neck.

"no shit," katsuki said with a click of his tongue, rolling his eyes yet again.

"you're the best heater in the world," you ignored his quip, your hands carding through his blonde hair, before coming to rest where it's cut shorter near the base of his neck.

"flattery ain't gettin' ya nowhere, sweets." despite his words, you felt his arms tighten around you. "you gonna let me get some shuteye, or are ya gonna continue yapping?"

"night night, kats."

"night."

before you drifted off to sleep, you felt him shift. then, a pair of lips were pressed against your temple.

you smiled. you loved having katsuki sneak over.

ok the first few times they pulled this off they'd set an alarm to wake up an hour earlier than usual for bkg to run back home and get ready for school BUT reader's parents would 100% catch them eventually. bkg practically moves in at some point, his clothes are in one of reader's spare drawers, his set of toiletries are next to the reader's, they get ready to go to school together yada yada yada. OMG imagine the bkg fam finding out and mitsuki's just like YOU DUMB BOY WHY ARE YOU TROUBLING THEM AND THEIR POOR FAMILY! and reader basically moves into bkg's place too >:) i'm such a sucker for childhood best friends... sigh
