Lately, I’ve been thinking about how there is actually a sense of hope found in Bruno’s story.

He’s just a kid when he loses everything. His mom, and then the only home he’s ever known.

But despite this, he ends up meeting some kids who would turn out to be the best, most loyal and caring friends of all. Finding a new home in the place that was once meant to be his enemy.

Of course, we know how it goes from here - he can’t stay forever, because the curse in his blood eventually awakens. And he cares just as much about them, so he has to make the painful choice to leave so they won’t get hurt (or worse, die).

But when he disappears, they miss him so bad. They don’t give up on him. They’re still looking around everywhere whenever they have a chance, hoping to find him, hoping to find out that he’s alright.

And when it’s revealed that Prince Bruno, a prince of Embla - their enemy - is their old friend Zacharias, they do not care if he should be their enemy. They do not care if he hid the truth from them all these years. What they do care about is, he’s alive. He’s alive, and he is *not* going to get himself killed now, because they won’t let him, they love him far too much.

They give him the hope and strength to carry on.

He does die, years later still, but it is out of love. He loves his sister, and has the opportunity to give her the freedom he never got to have.

And he dies, and is so, so, loved.

It may not be known or cared about by a large amount of people, but to those who had the good fortune of getting to know him, Prince Bruno of Embla, Zacharias of Askr, is so very missed. His presence mattered. His life made an impact on them. He was loved, very much by those who he loved.

There is much tragedy behind his life’s story, but in between all of that, there is hope.

Despite all the terrible things he had gone through, he still found love, and it carried on even after he died.

It’s a beautiful, heart-aching thing.

you know how ratatoskr says she kept watch on alfonse, which is how she knows he's a gentle person. so naturally, my mind went to kiralfonse

do you think she saw how soft he is for his wife and that's what got her initially thinking he was gentle

like i'm thinking:

kisses her wedding band when he greets her in the royal garden, as she's taking a break, then greets their unborn baby

walks down to the kitchen to get her a warm glass of milk and a plate of salted crackers in the middle of night because she can't sleep (and ratatoskr nearly gets herself caught)

walks into a wall when she dresses up in her bridal gown to prove she can still fit in it, then proceeds to comfort her that he'll still think she's pretty when she's "fat"

asks sharena and his mother to keep an eye on things so he can discretely take her into town because there's supposed to be a festival soon

has a damn near meltdown in the middle of night about how he's going to be a dad, runs into his future son, and ends up comforting him instead, in the same vein as lucina's chrom support

in the order of 2, 3, 4, 5, 1

and then +1 is just him standing in front of kiran when ratatoskr tries to do her job, being more worried about her being scared than anything else

please tell me I'm not the only person who remembers that book four plot point in Feh of Shareena and Peony having switched lives with each other so much THEY FORGOT who was originally who. Like, sure, they say it doesn't matter, and to them it doesn't, they're so happy go lucky they just wouldn't care. But....there is a very real chance that the Shareena we know, isn't the original Shareena. There's a very big chance the original Shareena is now Peony and....we'll just never know, because they'll never expand on that plot point.

I mean, think about what this would mean for their siblings. Imagine being Alfonse or Triandra, learning, somehow, that your sibling one day stopped being your original sibling and you just....never noticed. Can you imagine what that'd do to someone's head? And what about Queen henriette? What if she found out. Because that'd not only mean that she recently lost her husband, but that, at some point while she was raising her children, her daughter was swapped out for a doppelganger and she never was able to tell the difference.

That plot point is going to haunt me and I don't see it discussed enough.

I have another thought bunny or rat and it involved lif from book 3

So assuming from book 3 we know that his summoner die being Kiran fire emblem heroes or whoever you name the summoner do you think it's oddly suspicious that we never even fight the undead version of the summoner other than the fact that the summoner feature would be in book 4 but not counting the meta reason to me it doesn't make sense that hel the literal goddess of the death can't make the summoner rise from the dead because to me it will be good to mess with alfonse and give lif more of a chain to kill the askr tro to fullfil lifs contract

It's almost like lif thought his summoner is dead but for all we know his summoner could be back at their own world alive in some pocket dimension or whatever

So, to answer your question, no. I don’t think it’s particularly odd. In text, it’s implied that Líf and Thrasir technically haven’t “died.” They were the sole survivors of the blood rite, made their deal with Hel, and she has run them both ragged ever since. She hasn’t granted them rest. The only time they truly achieve it is when our heroes finally put them out of their misery and THEN Hel raises their empty bodies (found in Ch13 Part 3). Our heroes kill them once more and then their torment is finally over.

This does raise a question however; what happened to everyone else when the blood rite was activated? Does Hel not have control over them? Well, on an in-story level, I imagine the magic rite used to create a weapon powerful enough to kill Hel wouldn’t also give Hel more power. It is death she cannot use, because all those souls are being used to power the weapon. It’s why it killed everyone and everything around it. It needed them as fuel. This would explain why Kiran might not exactly be available— in activating the blood rite, they were killed by it first.

But then, on a writing level, each season of FEH has a limited run time and they only include so much. By opening that particular Pandora’s box, you would be calling for answers for everyone in the cast. If this world’s Kiran is still here, even if it’s just their empty body, then where is Anna? Where is Sharena? Hell, is Bruno around? This is not a bad thing per se, but it would require a lot more words, more art/resources, and potentially snipe the effectiveness of how crippling alone this Alfonse and Veronica are. In my opinion, it’s a smart decision to leave it as is. All we need to know is that they’re dead, they all failed, and Líf and Thrasir are DESPERATE to fix this. It’s a lot more sad that way! Which is good! No need to hold back punches in the season about death.

Now, my personal brand of analysis loves treating Kiran as less of an avatar and more as an individual. Our pov character being the silliest little guy brings me joy. So, one of the reasons why I love thinking about Líf’s Askr is because the remains we find imply a Greek tragedy chain of events that culminated in Kiran of all people having to activate the blood rite. Based on what we know about these characters, that’s the last person they’d EVER want pulling the lever on that trolly problem. It’s not a fair ask! Kiran was ripped from their home, summoned to an alien world, asked to fight in wars on Askr’s behalf (they have never fought anyone in their life), and is now being asked to sacrifice themself and millions in order to maybe kill a goddess of death? No! That’s not fair! None of this is, but that’s a step too far. Asking for them to spill their blood in this way for a country that is not their own would be cruel. A blatant abuse of their generosity. These are not the types of a characters who would do that. I wouldn’t be surprised if despite the circumstances, there might have been an effort to find a way to send Kiran back once it was clear how screwed everyone was. No one wants to see them hurt. Everyone, but Alfonse in particular, makes it their mission to protect Kiran. So, for things to end this way, it would imply a lot of people being dead and million things having gone horrifically wrong.

It would imply Kiran, scared and alone in a Emblian blood temple, having to make an awful choice.

I got this ask when I first got to work and I've had all day to think about it :3 Edit: I didn't mean to post this without adding poor Gullveig's name but that's literally so funny of me. Fixed spelling and bolded names too

My first, and obvious thought was Camilla. Woman literally has the softest and warmest body in all of Nohr, she was made for this. Paired with an uncontrollable urge to coddle and the grip strength to swing huge axes around like nothing, let me be clear; if Camilla wants to cuddle fuck, it's going to happen. She just may not be the one getting fucked <3

Next up, Sonya: now I might just be thinking of these two bc I just bought a 3ds to play the classics, or maybe just because I think big tiddy women with purple hair are into this-- who really knows. The point is, Sonya likes to spoil and be spoiled. It won't be hard to get her into your arms, and from there I imagine all it takes is some bad jokes before she'll be trying to get you to shut up.

For an actual feh OC: Laegjarn. I seem to have a type, but pay that no mind. Ahem. I think more than anything, she likes the closeness of it, the intimacy. One of those "I'm not close enough to you until I can crawl inside your chest" types, I'm afraid. That said, this will suffice. For now.

Gullvieg, (sweetie im so sorry for forgetting your name </3): I think she would be down for anything, if it was you summoner, but someone about you taking care of her this time around... ahh poor lady is done for. Might get carried away, but this may not be a bad thing.

Final choice: Ash. Something about not having to look each other in the eyes, the closeness of it without the expectation of something bigger or better. And the warmth-- oh goodness, the warmth. She might still be rambling but personally I think it's cute. Tell me how good the strap is, queen.

I also think he's one of those down 2 clown types, since he's just so gosh darn curious about us mortals, but soon finds he actually really likes it. easy explaination of why most if not all the characters have ended up flanderized in FEH: it started as a gacha game for FE fans and now is a FE game for gacha fans. That's why Alphonse won over Sigurd or why Gullveig won last year's cyl with only 2 lines of dialogue too.

This is why I don't want the jugdral remakes to happen, bc look at engage, using FEH's mechanic and FEH using its ring mechanic in order to sell more lyn, camilla and marth alts. I don't want jugdral to end up with another silly gimmick that isn't necessary on the game or the story but can be sold as another gatcha powercreep thingy. As long as FEH is on service, the main franchise is going to be directyl affected by it.

But... yeah, with time, FEH became its own thing and is apparently even considered a main FE Title given how Vero was added, albeit through a DLC, to Engage and I mean -

If Vero's writing is supposed to represent FEH, I have to inform you I found my new least liked FE game lol - which brings the main question : what is an FE game?

TBH, to me, FEH OCs are barely characters (Vero needed heavy retcons and ignoring elephants in the room which were there since book 1 to become remotely close to one) which makes me completely baffled at how they can even be "picked" for events like CYL, but if we are talking about popularity contests, then people will vote for their faves... aka the most recent characters they like or have seen - sure it doesn't help that Siggy'n'Leif are from jp only games, but CYL1 saw Roy being picked, even when his Smash Bros popularity dwindled. Can you imagine, in 2024 if Roy wasn't picked for CYL1, him competing with the non-entity that is Alfonse as "the most beloved FE characters voted in by the fans?".

I mean, I can get liking OCs in gacha/crossover games (I'm not pointing at someone in particular about Crestoria lol even if i prefered kanana to vicious) but I can bet you 2 kebabs that if a Tales gacha organised the equivalent of CYL, Leon and Yuri would be picked before any Male OC, and I'd bet 1 kebab about Alicia or even Milla being added before the Kanonos.

In FEH, Book 2 Vero (or was it 3?) was picked over... Elincia. Recency bias is a thing but... yep, it has been a long time now since FEH stopped being a gacha game for fans of FE, but became its own thing with sometimes FE characters being referenced.

I agree with your last remark though, as long as FEH exists, evil will - I mean, as long as FEH exists, it will have some sort of influence in the main games - even if I reiterate, FE15 managed to dodge its influence, only to fall in some other pitfalls.

Jugdral remakes can play like SoV, "additional" characters will be in a DLC and not have any relevance to the story, I mean, even if you can roll for Sharena on a NG+, she might not even have one line.

But, tbh, it's not the gacha aspects that worry me the most about Jugdral remakes, it's the state of the franchise/fandom post FE15 and especially post FE16, but I'll make a separate post about it.

Gonna go wild and throw this out here imagine Cult of the Lamb FEH AU where the summoner is the lamb(or whatever animal you like honestly!) and it plays out very similarly to the actual intro of the game where ‘we’ (the summoner) are summoned by the god Askr.

Though the Dragon(Bull?) comes off a little strong and starts speaking to you through your mind in a tongue your once human ears aren’t accustomed to hearing - - while also reeling from the sudden summoning - - so being understandably dazed and frantic you run off, but before making it too far and gathering your bearings you’re captured and intended to be used as the final sacrifice by some ragtag cultists hoping to get in good graces with the fell god Embla, though before anything can be completed you’re saved by Askr.

And after being saved and given adequate time to process what has just happened, the god gives you two things. The first, a blessed cloak and hood, by wearing this item are you able to understand the language of this world. And second, a sacred artifact, one he calls Breidablik, that was once full of divine power meant to bring peace, but now a victim to time. The god is solemn when he tells you that despite your transfer into a new world and rescue from the cultists, the poor god is at the end of his strength, his life is almost spent. His bringing you here was a last ditch effort to have someone listen to his pleas.

He tells you of a kingdom that is fighting a losing battle against the same people that almost killed you. The Askran kingdom is on it’s last leg and the Emblian empire is wasting no time in wearing their forces thin. Askr is desperate and earnest when he pleads for your help, says, ‘That you must be the one. When I extended my powers and searched for someone to take my hand, you did. Only one with an open heart could have made it here.’ .

That really is as far as I’ve gotten plot wise! But there’s a million ways that things could go and be developed! ^^ Maybe Askr has a means of communicating with the Askran royal family and has told them to expect ‘A new ally’. Maybe the Summoner comes across Alfonse, Sharena, or Anna struggling to hold off some enemies and helps them out and one thing leads to another and boom! You are now part of the Askran kingdom defense squad! <:) (The Order of Heroes!)

Maybe it’s a situation in which a gods powers are dependent on the amount of those who are devoted to them, and in turn that power is what keeps said nations and even its royal families healthy and safe!(Something something gods imbuing royal families with their blood so the fate of the god affects those who were blessed as well) So the Askran kingdom as well as its royal family really are in need of some help!🥺

okay, but can you imagine book 7 with freyr and freyja, under this context

assume that triandra and peony, separately, report to their respective parental figures that something funny is going on in kiran's dreams. she dreams of a white-haired lady with golden snakes and power over time, of a golden-eyed woman dressed in what the goat siblings recognize as vanaheimr garb, and everyone around her dying, again. and it's gotten to the point where it actively impedes peony's job

so when the gang manages to arrive at the gate that's supposed to lead them there, they find two familiar faces.

all of them are wary of freyja, but when they see her brother beside her, they reach an understanding as kiran is in the middle of dramatically running into the arms of her man. anna yanks her back, she stumbles, and freyja lets out a very unlady-like snort

freyr merely reminds his lady love to check breidablik because loki could do something like this and she would

it turns out to be the ones from askr, so they tag along, and seidr is a bit startled. like yes, she is aware of them, though she met them when she was much older, but it fascinates her that although kiran was partially responsible for their deaths, they showed up anyway

(she's also glad they didn't see her mess up)

then they actually meet njordr, and if not for the fact that he fancies himself a very composed man, all hell would break loose.

and freyr and freyja don't actually help. they both just greet him as they normally would and it takes him a few minutes to realize this is kiran's doing.

and maybe freyja understands what's going to happen, because she very purposely calls kiran "brother's mortal" as if to imply there is a relationship, but not a significant one. because she is a mortal so she'll die so he can't be attached for very long

(everyone is looking at her in horror and unease, because that's actually the most active acknowledgement she's ever made)

the family dinner is very awkward

so i know we already have the whole "older brother of a woman linked to us via dreams also dreaming of us" shtick covered by hríd, but we also have freyr apparently and it's been living in my head rent-free forever

this is his level 40 confession:

Long, long ago...I dreamt of a summer day spent beneath the sun's rays...And you were standing beside me in that dream, [Summoner]... There is no mistake. That was a true dream... It was a promise made by the future. How will the dream continue from here, I wonder... Of course, knowing would detract from the mystique. how long ago was long, long ago...because for me, my mind immediately jumped to tiny freyr—with short hair and only a single braid instead of two and his eyes closed all the time still, but his face still manages to reveal his emotions when he does not give it permission to, particularly when his sister is involved—waking up as a voice inside his older self's brain, able to see and feel everything he does but unable to exert any influence, because he has always had some influence over dreams and that extends to visions of the future.

and there's this pretty mortal in a sundress who sits next to him as he's simply laying down, and when she says his name, his older self opens his eyes, only to be rewarded with salt water sprinkled at his face and a beautiful smile that makes his heart pound.

but he's so young and she's a mortal, and the only thing young freyr concedes that day is that it's nice to see freyja having fun with a friend.

the visions, bits and pieces out of context that show a wonderful future, don't stop after that day, as if to taunt him for when he disregarde, the clear signs that he grows to love her, because he does and how is it hard to when she cares for freyja so deeply that his sister is willing to trouble herself for the mortal's sake?

those in the palace begin whispering after the fifth time he bumps into the wall with a soft smile on his face.

he sees her past and sees her variable future—some things are fixed, but others are not. he sees her in a wedding gown, as a happy bride and a sad bride, he sees her with children, and he sees her grow old, whether alone or with her variable husbands; most of them are kings, but only three are of Midgard, and of those, one is only a grand duke, beloved brother to the empress.

he sees her in a beautiful deep red dress, on a balcony with only the company of fireworks; he hears the way his heart pounds, and remembers what he once thought; and though there is no recognition in her eyes, she welcomes him to her side all the same

but what should be the start of a two-sided relationship, an acknowledgement of him from her, becomes a time he hopes will never exist

because it isn't until much later that he learns what his sister attempts to do, how she traps the mortal in a neverending dream—about his death and the last thing he sees. to see her smile at him one last time...that much, at least, is granted to him.

but ironically, his desperate attempts to convince freyja to avoid such a path, to leave the beautiful mortal alone, are what drive her into consolidating her plans—and she never realizes, not until they both are willed into existence in Askr, that it wasn't simply a matter of loving mortals; that it was a matter of loving one mortal and wanting her to be happy to a self-sacrificial point.

because his death and freyja's, they are fated, they are fixed, and the prospect of them surviving even once means that they will have changed the future in all timelines. because they, like those of ymir, or hel, or vanir and asgard, exist outside of time—singular entities watching over all worlds—but are still beholden to it.

and then he is summoned, to her, and she smiles the way she did the first time. and freyr, he makes himself a promise. to be helpful in whatever way he can—to be the shoulder she can lean on when she's tired, the ears that listen to her sorrows.

and when summer brings along with it a warmth in the breeze, she takes him—and his sister, and his fairies, and her fairies, and all her other heroes—to a familiar scenery.

a familiar scene, salt water on his face, the beginning of his downfall.

the beginning of his love.

as a hero, his powers are restricted. he has no clue what goes on in the minds of his other selves summoned to other askrs, as he would've if he'd been alive. whether they're as lucky as he is, if they also "get the girl"

when night falls, he confesses his dream to her, his eyes still closed. she's quiet for a while, before she asks him about his words, about whether the dream formed his desires.

and when a quiet yes slips from his lips, and he tells her about wanting to be at her side, her smaller hand lightly grasps his own and feels something soft on his cheek, near his lips

"mine too. my desires...as well, since that dream. when you first approached me."

(telling freyja results in a tantrum from her and an attempted deescalation that his beloved takes far too much glee in.

by week 3, his sister pouts when he expresses his affection for his lover and mixes salt in her coffee, but there remains no malice in her actions.)

This was beyond embarrassing and feeling your stare on him was only making him feel more flustered. Why must he be subjected to the attire of this festival of all things. “C’mon, look at those ears, it’s adorable~” You tease, finding his red face to be a sight for sore eyes. He may be curling up in embarrassment, but you couldn’t be happier seeing him in the bunny outfit. He’d been spending all morning whining about how he didn’t want to go out dressed like this, that it was embarrassing, that this was his Sister’s style, not his, on and on. You were having none of it- you’d been interchangeably teasing and praising him since he put it on. Reassuring him on how good he looks, teasing how obvious certain... Features became in those tight pants, anything you could think of to comment on. Somehow, it still hadn’t stopped working and he was still just as much of a blushy mess over it. “But it’s...
