Aaaaa, we did itttttt ~ !!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜

It's been... a wild ride since I started this blog 21/9/2021, huh? I was starting the second year of my degree at the same time as starting a new job and it was... A Time Of My Life, for sure. But now look! There's 1k of you and that's just phenomenal.

So many of you have been nothing but lovely; sending in asks or encouragement, support, advice, love, making me drop my uwus so many times there's almost no point in picking them up because just as soon as I do, one of you makes me drop them again.

Writing for the Sinclairs is always a blast as well, and I adore delving into their psyches and working them out. My characterisation isn't always perfect but most of what I write is well received, the friendships I've made are gonna be long lasting, and all of this accounts to so much of my happiness and sense of peace.

The Sinclairs have made me bolder, braver, and though Vincent is the one I fell in love with first, I love and cherish each of the brothers equally. You can't have one without the other two, at least in my opinion (which may not be yours and that's okay), and I wouldn't want them like that, anyway. For me, the Sinclairs are the Sinclairs because they've spent their lives together and none of them would be alive without the other two to make it that way. It's horrific, tragic, grotesque, and they're objectively fucking terrible people, but we love them and that's really important.

So, as a thank you to all of you, old-time followers and new followers and people who might hit follow because of this post, I have devised a combination of ways to celebrate this milestone.

Hi guys!! I made a flag for a term I coined. It has a couple different definitions.

• A gender that feels like it goes through seasons or rebirth, possibly annually. Continuing this idea, it might include the feeling it gets more "complex" after rebirth

• A gender that has a strong connection to rebirth, springtime, or the circle of life.

• A gender that feels strongly connected to the goddess Persephone, souls/spirits in a life and death sense, the "darker" aspects of nature, and decomposition/decay.

• Connected to the religious and spiritual aspects of the life cycle, such as participating in vulture culture as a way to honor animals that pass

It's completely free to use as a term on its own, but you can also mix it with any other gender/term you want.

For example, a Persephrogirl might be someone who feels like their connection to femininity is influenced by their appreciation for Persephone

Or, a Persephroenby might be someone who feels as though their complex relationship with gender tying into life as a whole might make them feel more genderless/neutral/etc.

I would give these tips:

I will take time for your following to increase. KEEP GOING!

Writing challenges are great exposure.

Tag your fics well and accurately. I would not suggest tagging it with irrelevant tags but tag it well. Look at how others tag.

Respond to comments and reblogs.

Reblog other people’s stories.

Be consistent and keep trying new things. The readers will come. Be patient.

If you write a rarepair or for a smaller fandom, expect less notes. Like My Luke fics never get as much interaction as my Tom and Loki fics. Same with Magnus.

Other than Spotify, 8tracks, and playmoss. Which site do ppl upload fanmix to? Or more accurately, which is the most popular?

Ooh, interesting question! 

I did a bit of digging, and most people share Reylo fanmixes on Spotify. I found a couple of playlists on 8tracks, but Spotify is the clear winner. 

In most of the cases I’ve seen, an author shares a playlist that inspired their Reylo fic. Some of my dear friends have done this. For example, see here for my love @assortedfruitsnacks212’s Creepy Forest AU playlist, and here for my love @monsterleadmehome‘s Reylo Song Prompts playlist. And the amazing @mrsvioletwrites is a must for Reylo-inspired music- both her original (!!) music, and her playlists. There’s a fantastic playlist for her fic The Premiere and her Liege here.  Lastly, I’m reading an incredible A/B/O right now by @ashesforfoxes, and she has a deliciously moody, dark metal fanmix on Spotify for it. 

I’ve also seen people share general Reylo playlists that aren’t associated with a particular fic, but are associated with a particular Reylo “mood” or Reylo more generally. See this one and this one, for example. 

But again, almost all of the fanmixes I’ve seen shared on Tumblr have been hosted by Spotify. 

I’m not sure if you are looking to upload your own playlist and want to know where it will get the most exposure, or whether you are looking for playlists to listen to. If the former, I would recommend uploading a playlist to Spotify and making a post on tumblr to spread the word. (A nice moodboard helps!). 

Something important to keep in mind: new posts that use external links are often blocked out of the Reylo tags. It doesn’t always happen to me, but it happens a lot. (yeah, it’s super annoying). It’s why I always list my sources in reblogs when I first post a meta. If you are blocked out of the tags, feel free to tag me for a signal boost. ❤️ 

If the latter, and you’re looking for recs, I’ve seen so many excellent playlists shared on tumblr. The playlists I include here are a great start, but if you’re interested in more, let me know, and I’d be happy to point you to more of my faves! (Also: I searched for “Reylo” in Spotify and clicked on “playlists,” and found literally hundreds. So that’s another place to browse.)

Keep in mind that my experiences are limited to what I’ve seen as a Reylo on Tumblr.

He asked to borrow your shower since theirs was being used by the other guys. It sounded like a silly excuse to come over to yours but you let him. While he washed up you started dinner, might as well make something for you two.

You were already done and about to set the table when he walked out, “All set bab-” you froze mid-sentence. He stood there near the table, drying his hair with one of your towels…shirtless. There were droplets making their way down his chest to the waistband of his jeans. Goodness’ sake his briefs were showing!

He stopped drying himself to look at you and see why you weren’t speaking. The moment his eyes found yours, you looked away. “What were you saying J?” he sounded curious.

You couldn’t meet his eyes, “Oh…just asking…if everything was alright?” you went back to setting the table, trying to distract yourself from the fact he was walking up to you now.

“Yeah. Thanks for letting me use yours” he leaned down and kissed your cheek. You could feel the steam coming off his body. You had to get yourself together but his sudden exposure of skin was making very difficult.

He noticed your discomfort, “Everything alright with you though?”

“Yeah” you answered way too soon. “Yes just setting up dinner” you bolted for the kitchen to get the food.  Did you take the plates already? You turned to check the table and instead were met with the sight of your frowning boyfriend abs and chest with all their glory, standing almost in front of you. You took a step back.

“Baby? What’s wrong?”

“Nothing!” again spoken too soon.

He arched a brow at you, obviously not buying your response. You gulped and held on to the counter behind you. He took a step closer; you took one back. He looked so focused; he was probably trying to figure out what was going on. That serious look combined with his shirtless-ness just made him look so freaking hot. You blushed.

It finally clicked for him, “Wait…baby is this because I’m like this?” he motioned to his chest.

“Whaat!” you faked a laugh. “No! No! What are you-” too late, a smirk was already forming on his lips.

“But…you’ve seen me shirtless before” he deliberately took a step closer. You were already pressing against the counter. “On the other hand…I haven’t.” Your eyes widened at his words. He chuckled, “God you’re adorable!”

“Yaahh!” you tried to sound mad but he was oh so close now and it was way more distracting than you wanted it to be.

He touched the hem of your blouse and tugged a little, “Maybe I should take this off and that way we’ll both be distracted” your breath caught, you wanted to say something but words were failing you. You were frozen and sort of pinned against the counter. He stared at you, still no words from you, “Is that a yes?” he smirked. Your heart sped up. He grabbed the end of your blouse with both hands and gently pulled it over your head. Now you stood in front of him in just your bra, your senses grew more acute and you could feel the heat from his body all over yours. You gulped. His eyes left your face and slowly traveled down your neck to your chest, now it was his turn to gulp.

He swiftly grabbed your waist and lifted you onto the counter, pressing himself in between your legs he pulled you in and kissed you.
