no one asked but here’s a few of my fave hockey things:
The elation after every goal scored. Cellies!! Biiig group hug!! Slap on the helmet!! Now go get congrats from all your teammates!!
Players aggressively smacking their stick on the ice to communicate 👋 HEY!! 👋 OVER HERE!! 👋 PASS TO ME!!
Broke your stick?? Skate blade fell out? Damn that sucks 😐 (also we’re not gonna clean that up until we have time/feel like it) BUT HELMET FELL OFF? GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE (ik it’s a safety measure but it kills me how they gotta speed off the ice)
The way slipping/falling/crashing into people & objects is part of it and thus often ignored lol. yeah that guy got decked. Yeah he fell on his ass. Yeah he’s struggling to get up. Yeah He kinda looks a bit pathetic. What about it.
Same vein: the mental and physical toughness of players. Annoying men can complain all they want about “soft” nhlers but the fact is you can’t get to that level without talent AND resilience.
The way teams protect their goalie on and off the ice. “Breathe in his general vicinity and i’ll end you” “It’s not our goalie’s fault he’s an angel and we love him. It’s OUR fault because we’re the ones who let him get peppered” LOVE THY GOALIE
Giving out an mvp award after every game (win). Usually with a fun prop. Silly wholesome family stuff.
Reading the starting lineup is a required ritual. 🕯️ Complete with cheers and claps. And maybe some other noises that really amplify the ceremonial nature of it all.
Speaking of falling again: when players trip or fall or whatever and STILL manage to score. 😮 Failing upwards except it’s not failing. It’s hockey. 🏒
Tic-tac-toe goals. No-look passes that lead to goals. Perfectly placed stretch passes that lead to goals. ~chemistry~ ~same wavelengths~ ~mind reading~
One-timers 💥 (particularly love when they end up on a knee for that idk it’s like damn they are putting SO much force into their shot they can’t even stay upright)
Slick skating that makes you think they must have a special deal with gravity.
When players use their skate to keep the puck on the boards and we all just gotta wait for somebody to get it out. It feels like the equivalent of standing in the checkout line somewhere and witnessing a petty fight in front of me that’s taking up my time. *checks watch* 🧍‍♂️ Can y’all hurry this up i have things to do
The way the speed and skill just keeps increasing. The stuff we are witnessing is wiiiiild. The other ‘major’ sports don’t really innovate the way hockey does…With other sports you can run faster. You can throw/shoot with amazing accuracy. You can swing harder. You can hone your body to be perfectly toned and eat a regimented diet to do those things. But can you *change* the way the sport is played? The creativity innate to hockey is special and honestly very beautiful. Isn’t it wild the michigan goal was something that was never seen in organized (ice) hockey until just a few decades ago?? And it’s STILL rare. To me the coolest and most impressive sports are those that develop over time and continue to wow us in new ways: hockey, gymnastics, figure skating, snow-skate-wakeboarding, etc. It’s incredible to think that we still have more “first ever *insert thing here*” to see.

The boys all probably have their own collections of things. What do you think they collect and is there any reason why they collect those?
That’s a tough question!
I think both Micky and Davy collect shells. The only difference is Micky collects anything he likes and Davy only collects the ones that are perfect and not cracked. It makes sense since they’re beside the beach and every time they bring in a new haul, Mike puts some of their old ones back outside because it’s like an invasion and they don’t even notice anyhow.
I think the other obvious one is Peter collects records. He’ll save up as often as he can and make a big deal of finally buying one. He can spend hours searching for the perfect one and then he’ll play it over and over again until he can afford a new one. He built a little shelf next to the record player so he can display his favourite ones and he loves to talk about them to anyone who will listen.
Micky collects snowglobes. I feel like his family travelled a lot when he was a kid so he has one for every American state and maybe some other countries. When Davy goes back to England he makes him bring him back a snowglobe so Davy gets him one from all the major cities he can manage to get to on his visit. Micky collects these because it reminds him of all the places he’s been and all the memories attached to them and it helps him when he’s homesick.
Mike collects something a bit more random like stamps. He saves all the stamps off every letter they receive or if he sees a cool one in the post office. I’m not sure if Americans have special stamps for special occasions but if they do, he collects them all. He has a scrapbook dedicated to them which he hides on his bookshelf and he doesn’t admit it to anyone because he thinks it’ll make him look old or uncool. He can’t remember when he started collecting or why but he loves to keep them, especially if they’re from a special letter from home or a check for a gig.
Davy I think collects stuff from each date he’s on (a ticket, or receipt, or a written phone number) and he has a journal where he puts them and writes about each date/girl. He does this because it’s fun but he doesn’t show anyone in case they think it’s shallow. It’s hard for him to remember all the dates he’s been on but he loves to read back over his journal and remember how much fun he had and whatnot.
Peter loves trinkets in general. There’s always something new on display in the pad and peter never explains where he gets them from. He has a whole collection of ceramic animals that he keeps in his bedroom because he’s given them all names and likes to say goodnight to them all individually. He’ll see them in shops or sometimes in the trash and he’ll feel bad for them and take them home.
Davy collects playbills, even if he can’t afford to go to the show. Hes always at the ticket office collecting the posters or whatever he can get his hands on and he pins them all to the wall above his bed. If he gets one he hasn’t heard of or can’t go see, he’ll make up the plot/songs in his head (which is where his songs for the band come from eg My Share of the Sidewalk). For his birthday the guys all save up to take him to a musical he’s been wanting to see since forever and Davy puts the playbill for it right in the middle of his collection.
Mikes guilty pleasure is collecting toy cars. He gets all the different types of models he can get. He hides them in case the others think they’re silly toys but Micky finds them and they bond over their favourite cars and Micky starts adding to the collection. For his birthday one year, Micky makes mike a small model car either whittled from wood or made from scraps of other projects he works on.
Micky tries to start a collection of puppets/dummies at one point but it freaks Peter out so Mike makes him get rid of them. They keep Mr. Schneider though because there’s just something about him…

Apparently this needs to be said so
Forgetting things is morally neutral! Memory issues are morally neutral!
You're not a bad person if you...
forget things quickly
forget people
can't remember entire stages of your life
can't remember important things
can remember some things very well and forget other things all the time
can't remember things (or anything!) about your interests
forget to eat, sleep, go to the bathroom, etc
forget to reply to texts
remember things and immediately forget them again
can't remember birthdays, events, etc
frequently answer 'I forgot' to questions
can't retain new information
forget things you used to know
only remember things when it's too late
have vague, distorted and/or unreliable memories
depend on others to know how an event you were in played out
have other symptoms that are worsened by memory issues and vice versa
... and anything else I might have missed!

DPxDC Danny Is A Self-Fulfilling Prophecy
(not in a necessarily bad way and it's by Clockwork's design)
Bats, or Constantine, or the JL, or whoever you want to be close to Danny in this prompt, don't notice it right away. It takes them a while to figure out its not purely coincidence. And even after they do figure it out, they still have their doubts.
The thing is, it doesn't work all the time. It also doesn't seem to have a system or a schedule to it, nor is it any kind of a superpower, as far as they can understand. By God, does Danny have way too many superpowers, but most of them are consistent, and yet this one... is weird. Weirder than anything they've seen before, and they've seen a lot, okay.
It also only works if Danny does it without thinking.
"You know what'd be perfect right now? A cheese sandwich," Danny says over the comms, in the middle of the fight with Dr. Freeze, "A warm, grilled cheese sandwich just out of the toas- Owch, what?" There's a pause. And then, "Guys, you're not gonna believe it, a cheese sandwich just smacked me in the face! I think someone threw it out of the window or something!" Danny sounds bewildered, but excited, and there's a sound of chewing from his comm now. At least he is eating, so that's good.
"I fucking hate robots," he grumbles the other day, punching his way through the Brainiac invasion in Metropolis, with no comm and only for the Supes to overhear, "No, correction, I hate only evil robots. The ones that interrupt my astronomy class. The ones that shoot motherfucking lasers and walk like crabs, and ruin a perfect day, and- I wish- aw, fuck, no, that's bad wording. Don't wish for shit. But if all these robots would just suddenly, miraculously malfunction and stop attacking me and the whole city, that would be, like, real nice of them."
A few minutes later, something goes wrong with the Brainiac's control over the army of robots, and all of them just stop moving and fall down at once. It is deemed as a chance, a lucky shot, a coincidence. Supes keeps quiet over what he heard Danny say.
"Oh, you bitch-ass fruitloop, you know what I want?" Danny yells at Plasmius, as the ghost is laughing like a madman, "I want a fucking brick to fall down right on your head, like, right now! Maybe that can set your brains straight for at least five minutes!" And even before he is finished talking, there's something falling down from the sky and hitting Plasmius's head. It's not a brick, to be exact, it's Miss Martian's shoe, though. She has no idea how it even came undone and fell from her foot. But it did somehow knock Plasmius out cold, so there's that.
It doesn't happen all the time. Red Robin does the math - the improbable accidents only happen in about 26% of the situations, given that Danny says something. It's by no means a reliable power. It also doesn't happen only during the fights: there were numerous times when Danny just said something like 'I wonder if the cafeteria serves garlic bread today' and sure enough, there's garlic bread there. Even if it was not on the menu. Ever.
They try to question Danny himself, but he has no idea. He doesn't even notice the coincidences most of the times - which is not surprising, knowing that they only happen in one out of four situations and Danny is known to have a short attention span. So, after a few unsuccessful investigations and failed attempts at calculating how this even works, they all give up. It has never jinxed anything, as far as they know, so everyone just leaves it be.
Danny is just magically lucky like that.
Meanwhile, Clockwork is having a good laugh about it. Danny's suggestions amuse him, and it's funny to watch the other superheroes having a mental breakdown over it, so he rigs the timeline from time to time. Just a little.

I saw that post about what to do if you're homeless again (the one that starts by telling you to spend all of your money on motel rooms lmao) anyway, here's a few thoughts, specifically for trans girls, cuz I don't really care otherwise tbh:
1) plan ahead, most trans girls are in precarious housing situations, you will have a much easier time when it falls apart if you already have a pack with most of the gear you need in it. Also, if you find yourself in a situation where you cant make rent, dont pay part of it, spend that money on gear, pocket the rest and leave, youll have a much nicer time. Look up your local eviction laws, you have plenty of time. (Gear list at the end)
2) travel! If you're in Arizona in May, leave. it's about to be hot as hell. If you're in Michigan in October, leave. It's about to be cold as hell. If you're in a big city, leave. It's way easier to be homeless pretty much anywhere else. Amtrak is cheaper and more comfortable than greyhound, hitchhiking is free and easy, if you're alone it's not that much slower than the previous two, and it's more fun, and sometimes people buy you food or whatever or give you money. I promise it's not scary and you're entirely capable of doing it, no matter who you are. 95+% of people who will pick you up are very nice. All you have to do is take the bus out of town, as far down the highway you can, to an exit with a truck stop if possible, then just stand on the side of the road with your thumb out until someone picks you up. You can stand at the bottom of the ramp(on the highway) near where the merge lane ends or at the top of the ramp(where there's usually a traffic light), the former is more likely to lead to cop interactions but will maybe get you a ride faster, check on hitchwiki for how the cops are in the area. don't be afraid to take a commuter bus or Amtrak to get out of a shitty cop area
3) skip shelters if you can (they are very occasionally a decent place to get stuff from) and encampments, good places to sleep include the trees near railroad tracks or highways, wooded areas behind shopping centers, sections of parks without paths, overgrown empty lots. Hang a tarp above you if there's an appreciable chance of rain, there's tons of YouTube tutorials on how to do this, maybe I'll make a post about what I usually do some day. There are many habits more fun than motel rooms, save your money for them lmao.
4) get on food stamps. This is easier in some places than others, but it makes the whole thing a lot easier. Just tell them you're homeless, if they don't give you a card the same day, you can probably ask to pick it up from that office, alternatively some drop in centers/day shelters can receive mail for you, or you can have it sent to general delivery(USPS service, look it up)
7) libraries are great for charging your phone and using wifi, but also keep an eye out, plenty of random outlets on the outsides of buildings are also powered
5) dumpster. sidewalk trash cans, Aldi, Einstein's, trader Joe's, pizza places, etc. You need to develop a bit of a sense for it but it's an easy way to get cooked food or travelling food or expensive food without spending resources. Also it's fun.
6) water is free, go into the bathroom of any gas station or grocery store in America(offer not valid in most big cities or on the west coast, but in that case just go to the library) and fill up your water bottle
8) hygiene notes: truckers get free showers from chain truck stops(loves, pilot/flying j) go there and ask them. convenient if you're hitchhiking, also you don't need to shower 3 times a day, really, you'll survive. Ditto with deodorant. Take care of your teeth though. Take your socks off every. day. Change them consistently. Safety razors give a good shave, work well without adequate water pressure, and the replacement blades are very stealable, they're kind of heavy though. Walmart makes these electric razors for women that take AA batteries and are pretty light but give a worse shave, also they kinda go through batteries, pick whatever works for you(cartridge razors suck)
9) traveling food notes: peanut butter is great, tortillas and bagels travel pretty well, tuna packets are pretty good protein for traveling(the ones with rice and beans or whatever are nice since theyre often the same price as the regular), condiment packets are free, hot sauce makes everything better, and mayo goes well with tuna and has a bunch of calories in it, salad dressing packets are free from truck stops and work well turning the Walmart shredded vegetable packages (labeled for making into slaw, next to the bagged salads) into a salad with real vegetables(not iceberg lettuce) in it or mixing in with tuna packets for even more calories than mayo
Gear world:
Necessary items(in order of importance): a gallon of water carrying capacity(an Arizona jug or other twist top jug is conventional, but a bladder+arizona bottles also works), a tarp(larger than 6'x9', not brightly colored), a hank of parachord, a sleeping bag (20° rated, synthetic insulation), a backpack with a padded hip belt(at least 50L, no more than 75), rain gear(a rain poncho might cover your pack too, a rain jacket can help with wind when its cold, a trash bag inside or outside your pack can keep it dry, a plan to watch the weather and not get caught also works), a z-fold foam sleeping pad, three pairs of socks, two pairs of underwear (at least one pair of boxer breifs strongly recommended if you arent incredibly skinny), a decent pair of shoes with good arch support, a functional jacket(skip if you got a rain jacket before), a base layer(wool or poly, absolutely no cotton)
Convenient items: a sleeping bag liner(cotton free, keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer), gallon zip locks to pack your stuff in(helps keep it dry and organized), no more than one change of clothes(as light as possible), a multi-tool(can opener, pliers, wire cutter), lighter(burning rope ends etc), spoon, floss and needles for patching
