The Nine Realms dragons redesigns~
So I wanted to just play around with some ideas for redesigns for Feathers, Plowhorn, and Wu & Wei. Mostly, I wanted to doodle.
I re-designed feathers to actually have more feathers instead of just a few on her head and tail. She's partially based off of a nightjar bird and I wanted her to be a bit more bird-looking over reptile-looking.
Plowhorn kept her rhino-like look, but I added more armor plating instead of the beetle shell. I also wanted to add more crystals along her body to carry out this design choice smoother.
Wu & Wei's designed were changed to represent that of moray eels, specifically a wink to Floatsam and Jetsam from The Little Mermaid. I wanted them to really carry out that aquatic-look and I think the idea of a dragon being eel-like makes for a more interesting design choice with its irony, haha~
I didn't add Thunder on here because I already have a re-design of him and I just didn't have time for Webmaster.

This redraw took me longer than I thought but I was looking forward to doing it, I'm grateful that this show gave us a little slice after the end of the series.
I added Fei, she was designed by me. The colors of the baby Gembreaker are based on the ones seen in the series, except the purple one that comes from Rise of Berk.

grahhhh i wished i liked auraboas more :[
i think the pose being so crammed and busy + not having as good a gene selection as i would've liked really hampered my love of them. because ideally i've loved amphitheres and other multi-winged snake dragon beasts to the point where i have an oc with that design, and so i want to love auras so badly but there's so much in the way for me rn orz

I’ve always been in between Rebelliousness and Status Quo Order. I’d be happy if we successfully protect our Democracy, and that the pure hearted demonstrators started biting authoritarian flesh.

✨✨✨
Ah!! Suddenly more sparkles!! Thank you for these, friend!~
(source: this post by dragonsmooch)
Send me ✨ for a random thing about one of my OCs! (Optional: You can specify one!) - ..Okay, there are three of these, so.. may I use one for each of my trio of KH OCs (who also happen to be fankids for my selfship with Aqua)?
Virga's name refers to a streak of rain or snow that can be seen falling from a cloud, but that never actually reaches the ground; this was what inspired xyr tag. Xe has the most stamina out of the three apprentices, generally being able to outlast the other two in fights pretty well as long as xe doesn't get hit too much. The default form of xyr Keyblade is called Sun Pillar. In terms of xyr personality, I tend to think of Virga as the most level-headed of the trio, calm without being cold (which likely stems from xem being the oldest of the three), but at the same time xe's very imaginative and creative.
Rime's name comes from a type of ice formed when supercooled water freezes onto surfaces. It often looks very feathery and crystalline, hence their tag. Their Keyblade's default form is called Glacialis, and their style of combat focuses a lot on buffs and debuffs rather than direct physical damage - however, their natural light seems strongest out of the three so far. I've been thinking of their personality as quite timid and more cautious compared to the other two, possibly because they're the shortest and maybe therefore also youngest?
Mistral's name is the name of the northwesterly wind of the Mediterranean. It's maestrale in Italian, which links it more directly to its meaning of "masterly", hence his tag. Mistral has the strongest magic out of the three apprentices, and his default Keyblade is called Winterspring. At the moment, I'm thinking of her as the most leader-like of the three (maybe because of his name?) - he's not afraid to stand up for himself or the people she cares about, and is overall decidedly less glum than he tends to look on the outside to those who don’t know him well.
I hope that those responses were alright!! Thank you very much for sending in the sparkles, friend ^-^

In a realm where whispers breathe like water's caress, Soft hues blend, watercolor dreams in delicate finesse. Mountains ripple in lavender mist, soft and surreal, While azure rivers waltz beneath a golden seal. Feathered trees whisper to the pastel skies, Leaves weave lullabies in a symphony of sighs. Crystal-clear dewdrops rest on emerald moss, Each a tiny world, where fantasies gloss. The air hums with the notes of distant, whimsical lore, A gentle melody, floating from a hidden shore. Here in this tranquil scene where time drifts slow, Imagination paints wonders wherever we go.

When you notice the little things, your life becomes infinitely richer.
(Also good things to include in your writing to add detail and life to scenes.)
good things to pay attention to more often
the color of trees
clouds and how they look different throughout the day
the different colors the mornings can have. sometimes it's an orange hue and sometimes pink and sometimes it's too misty to tell
pretty color schemes in random places (the trees and your neighbors wooden patio and the color of their car)
the states of the vehicles passing you by, dents and scratches and the different trinkets suspended from their rearview mirrors
the sound of silence
the shadows the lights cast in your home, like how sunset looks different than sunrise, and the shadows the sun casts look different than those of your lamps and candles
pretty details in buildings and houses like certain types of windows or doorknobs or archways
the movement of things in the wind. flags, leaves, flowers, people's hair and coats

In my own tabletop games I typically start with a particular sort of game-mechanical procedure to explore, then work backwards to figure out "okay, what sort of narrative framing do these procedures imply?", but when I read other people's stuff I have to confess that I love games that are so high concept they're barely playable.
To be clear, I don't necessarily mean games whose core conceit is anything particularly esoteric (insert obligatory sidebar about what the term "high concept" actually means here): I mean games which prioritise game-mechanical fidelity to that core conceit over all other considerations; i.e., games where textual clarity, structural coherence, even the basic physical practicality of enacting the procedures of play are all secondary to the Vibe.
Like, would I ever play Mist-Robed Gate as written? Absolutely not – but I feel strongly that a game whose text advises you to play it on a surface you don't mind putting holes in because the escalation procedures for player-versus-player conflict resolution involve stabbing your opponent's character sheet with a knife is something which needs to exist in the world. I once read a game whose mechanics at one point instruct you to go outside and search your neighbourhood for discarded bird feathers. Fantastic.
