Finished Sense8.
I have no words. Such a work of love, its an anthem to Love. Such an epic show deserved at least a season 3 to wrap up everything nicely but I guess Netflix "allowing" for 2 more hours after canceling is a blessing already.
It's about love and human connection, regardless of gender, skin color, sexuality, culture, religion...
I can never do it justice in a review so I guess I'll just say it's hard that a show manages to keep us interested in 8 characters and their respective plots, while maintaining a compelling common plot.
I loved them all. Actors and their respective characters. Couldn't recommend it more.
Will rewatch cause I'm not ready to let go yet...
Tumblr media
Wolfgang is my bae, Will is best man ever, Sun is a queen, Capheus is my ray of light, Lito is my precious Drama Queen, Kala is my sexy woman, Nomi is my genius cinnamon bun and Riley is love. Love them all.
And their supporters were also adorable and lovable, which isn't an easy feat. Rajan, Dany, Felix, Hernando, Detective Mun, Amanita, Diego, Bug.
Sad we didn't get to know more about other clusters... Sad really that executives make such bad decisions 😭
What a show! Love Love Lana for giving us this.

Choctaw Indian Pony -
“Researching the history of the Choctaw horse (pronounced CHOCK-taw)—also known as the Choctaw Indian Pony—is like tracing the delicate lines of a once colorful thread woven throughout a time-worn and fading tapestry. I was transfixed, awed, enchanted and, at times, deeply saddened as the fabric of this endangered breed’s story unraveled before me, most of it left out of our school history curriculums…The Choctaw horse is a Colonial Spanish horse, though you will rarely hear them referred to by this name. Easily confused with the wild horses the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) oversees, they are often called “mustangs,” a term frequently and indiscriminately conferred on any feral horse of any genetic background. Today, only a very small number of feral horses (mustangs) bear the true Spanish type and breeding. Overall, Colonial Spanish horses of all bloodlines number about 3,000, while the total number of pure Choctaw horses is only about 250 animals.  The surviving Colonial Spanish Choctaw horses, however, are proven to be direct descendants of horses brought to the New World in the 1500s by the Spanish Conquistadors. Dr. Phillip Sponenberg, Professor of Pathology and Genetics at Virginia Tech University has devoted much of the last thirty years to ensuring the genetic integrity of the breed’s survival. “Colonial Spanish Horses are of great historic importance and are one of only a very few genetically unique horse breeds worldwide. Choctaw horses are one of a handful of distinct Native American tribal strains of Colonial Spanish Horse that are surviving by a thin thread,” he explains. The mythology of the Choctaw horse is complex, romantic and heart-rending.
While it may seem strange to envision Native Americans without horses, it wasn’t until the 1600s that indigenous Americans living in the deep South first encountered the animals. Hernando de soto and his invading Spaniards, searching for the mythical Seven Cities of Cibola (rumored to be overflowing with gold and riches) were the first to ride horses into Mississippi. The local Choctaw people dubbed the mysterious animals “spirit dogs.”  The seemingly friendly Spaniards soon proved otherwise. In the ensuing struggles, the brave and noble Choctaw managed to retain their rightful land and avoid enslavement—and they acquired a few of the Spaniards “spirit dogs,” as well.
In addition to horses, the Spanish also introduced cattle, goats, sheep and hogs to the native population. The Choctaw soon became adept at raising livestock, and the “spirit dogs” quickly became an integral part of the Choctaw culture. The characteristics and traits of the small and sturdy horses facilitated their deep integration into tribal life. They were athletic and possessed great endurance, with sound legs and tough hooves. Despite their smaller stature of 13.2-14.3 hands, the horses were able to carry a 200 plus pound man in 50 and 100 mile races. The equines quiet, people-oriented dispositions endeared them to the Choctaw and the animals soon became indispensable in hunting and farming.
Interestingly, the Choctaw women were considered “keepers of the horse,” according to screenwriter John Fusco whose movie Hidalgo was the story of Frank Hopkins and his Indian pinto pony.
‘The men did the hunting and it was their wives’ task to track and locate the kill on horseback, with little more than a broken twig here and there to mark the trail. On her sunset-and cornsilk-colored pony the Choctaw Woman would ride into a tangled maze of indigo bush and brambles, follow the trail without breaking gait, and locate the gift deer. Even five moons pregnant it didn’t matter; her Choctaw pony was born gaited, like riding a cloud. With her knife she’d dress the deer and sling the heavy meat up across the packsaddle. Laying some tobacco in gratitude, she’d remount and start for home.’
For three hundred years the Choctaw lived peaceably as accomplished agriculturalists and by the 1800s had developed a lucrative trade network with the areas that would later become Texas and Oklahoma, a feat which traveling on horseback had made possible. The high quality of their livestock, horses in particular, had become legendary, written about in travels journals of the era, including those of Lewis and Clark.
The Choctaw continued to prosper as a nation until Andrew Jackson signed the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek in September of 1830, proclaimed in February 1831, designating Oklahoma ‘Indian Territory.’ Thousands of Choctaw were forced at gunpoint to leave their beloved homeland in what was termed the ‘Relocation.’
Leaving their ancestral farms and forests to make way for Anglo plantation owners, they marched on foot (often barefoot) along what would come to be known as the Trail of Tears. Their loyal horses, with small bells tinkling like wind chimes fastened to their manes, carried children, the old and infirm through extremely cold weather and blizzards.
It is thought that as many as 4,000-5,000 of the 16,000 native people forced to relocate perished along the route. The tribe would prove resilient in the new territory until the Civil War and then, finally, Oklahoma’s statehood in 1907, when their nation would cease to exist as a separate entity. Tragically, their beloved horses did not fare as well.
The US Government sanctioned the extermination of the Indian horses in an effort to more easily force the Indians onto reservations. Because the Native American’s horses were of spiritual significance in the tribal culture (as was the land), confiscating them was a strategy to break the tribe’s spirit. But the fleet-footed ponies proved hard to catch. And unbeknownst to the cavalry, a handful of families in isolated pockets on the reservations sought to preserve the ancestral bloodlines, guarding and breeding their prized horses.
By the turn of the century, the handful of Choctaw  horses remaining sported long Spanish manes and came in a variety of colors: line-backed dun, varnish roan, blacks and bays and leopards among them. They were intelligent and possessed uncanny cow sense, a constitution that could survive on scrub grass, and a “butter smooth” ride. But by 1950 most of the Choctaw elders had passed on—and along with them the esoteric wisdom and zeal for preserving the rare pedigreed ponies that had accompanied them through times both good and bad.
Then another challenge arose: the US. Government imposed the Tick Eradication Program, ordering every wild pony in Oklahoma to be shot. A twist of fate in the form of a young cowboy named Gilbert H. Jones would turn the tables in the breed’s favor. G. H. Jones had a life-long passion for pure Spanish mustangs (now called Spanish Colonial Horses). He left New Mexico because his horses were being slaughtered by neighbors for their meat, and he had only one remaining stallion.
Moving into the Kiamichi Mountains in southeastern Oklahoma, he obtained grazing permits from a local timber company and with the help of a friend, Robert Brislawn, began the process of rebuilding a pure Colonial Spanish Horse herd.
Jones happened upon some Choctaw elders who respected the young white man’s dedication and helped him acquire several Choctaw mares and an additional stallion—an impressive buckskin and white pinto named “Rooster.” Rooster’s ancestry could be traced directly back to the Trail of Tears. Jones’ restoration of a small herd of Choctaw horses had begun.
Savvy and industrious, Jones had become aware of Frank T. Hopkins. Hopkins and his Indian pony Hidalgo (the inspiration for the 2004 motion picture) had demonstrated the breed’s merits through long endurance races, and Jones aimed to do the same. Between long trail rides and brutal endurance events, Rooster’s bloodlines eventually became legendary.
By the 1980’s, Jones’s herd numbered close to one hundred pure horses. Jones continued to work tirelessly to preserve the Choctaw Indian Pony well into his elderly years. He died in 2000 at the age of 93, passing down his research and conservation work to Bryant and Darlene Rickman, who still breed and preserve Jones’ horses on his original land.
Dr. Phillip Sponenberg works closely with the Rickmans, contributing his advanced genetic research, as well as serving as Technical Advisor for the ALBC (American Livestock Breeds Conservancy). Dr. Sponenberg also serves as an Advisor to Red Road Farm and the Choctaw Indian Conservation Program, founded by the writer and filmmaker who made the Disney movie Hidalgo: John Fusco.” - Cowgirl Magazine

Dancing with the Double-Edged Sword (Ch. 10)
Bruno Madrigal x Original Female Character
Chapter Rating: T (some language)
(Masterlist)
Mila woke suddenly, as if some unknown force in her mind had jolted her from sleep. She lifted her head, immediately noticing the texture of the blanket over her was not her own. The warmth under her body was not from her mattress. The room was quiet, the sound of shifting sand creating an ambient background noise.
Hernando was still asleep beside her, his arm curled loosely around her shoulders as he slept on his back. In the dimly lit room, she couldn’t help but to take a second and admire him. Recalling the events from the previous night, she realized she was still naked. For some reason, it didn’t bother her. There was only one window in the room, a standard size square at the very top quarter of the wall his desk had been pushed against. It was hard to tell what time it was since the window didn’t face east or west.
He stirred beneath her, his face shifting into a scowl, his jaw tight for a moment as he turned his head slightly towards her. She feared he might be having a nightmare or a vision, but there was no glow peeking from behind his eyelids. His face relaxed almost immediately, his mouth parted just slightly as he breathed deeply. She gently brought her fingers to his forehead, running the pad of her index finger gently across his skin. He seemed to respond to her touch even in sleep, shifting his body to turn completely towards her.
“It’s rude to stare, bebita ,” he suddenly grumbled hoarsely, his throat dry from sleep.
She jerked in surprise, withdrawing her hand. “Did I wake you?” she questioned.
“No, I’m usually up and down most of the night,” he muttered, eyes still closed.
“Oh…” was all she could say.
With a tired sigh, Hernando tightened his arm around her, pulling her into his chest and throwing his other arm over her as well, keeping her pressed into him. She didn’t mind, his warmth and familiar scent was enough to lull her back to sleep. He didn’t say anything as he held her, resting his chin on the top of her head as she curled more into his embrace.
“How am I supposed to sneak out in the morning?” she asked, her mind on the border of sleep.
“You don’t,” he mumbled, “I’ll just say I went and got you before sunrise or something,” he yawned, nuzzling the back of her head.
“Hm,” she sighed, satisfied enough to succumb to her drowsiness.
She didn’t know how long she was asleep, but at some point, one of the rats had scurried up Hernando’s leg and began nibbling at his arm, enough for him to grumble and move, waking her in the process. Turning around, she found her lover sitting up, hair a mess and the rat cradled in his hands.
“Good morning, guapo ,” she yawned, rubbing the remnants of sleep from her eyes.
He tensed, visibly enough for her to notice. Glancing over his shoulder, she met his eyes and knew Hernando was gone for the time being. Sitting up, she held the sheets to her chest, still bare from their activities last night.
“Bruno, are you okay?” she asked, noticing how he began stumbling around the room, clumsily pulling his shirt back on.
“I’m… ay Dios mio , I’m…you’re…we…” he squeaked, his eyes darting around the room at the mess.
“Bruno, calmate ,” she said softly.
“Oh, I’ll be doing penance for weeks after this…” he murmured to himself, standing still, wringing his hands on the end of shirt nervously.
Since he was so distracted and in his own mind, Mila took the opportunity to quickly gather her clothes and pull them on. Once she was dressed appropriately, she cautiously approached her boyfriend, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. He jumped at her touch, but relaxed when she offered a small smile.
“Hey, you’re okay, just…breathe with me,” she said, inhaling deeply and exhaling the same way.
He copied her and then did it again and again until he was no longer shaking and his eyes were able to focus on her. Once she felt he was calm enough, she took his hands in her own, looking up at him, studying his features. Bruno swallowed hard, his breathing still a bit uneven, but not erratic enough to cause her to worry.
“T-thank you,” he said softly, offering her an awkward smile.
“Will you talk to me?” she asked, guiding him to his wingback chair.
She gently guided him to sit. He relaxed into the familiar cushion. Mila began to make herself comfortable on the floor in front of him, but he offered his hand silently, looking nervous, but determined as he bit his lower lip.
“What is it?” she asked, somewhat amused by his actions.
“Please, just…sit with me?” he asked, sounding unsure of himself.
Taking his hand, she was surprised by how he pulled her closer and slightly spread his legs. She understood almost immediately and eased herself down on his lap, taking care not to move around too much.
“Is this okay?” she asked, wrapping her arms around his neck.
“Mhm,” he nodded, swallowing thickly, his Adam’s apple bobbing.
“Claro , I know you probably didn’t expect to wake up the way you did, but…I hope you’re not upset with me,” she began, fiddling with the collar of his shirt.
“No, no, I'm not upset, i-it’s just…well, I-I’m…I’m just a bit, uh,” he coughed, “um, overwhelmed…”
“Understandable,” she nodded, running her fingers through his curls soothingly, “I’m sure you have a lot of questions, how much do you remember from last night?”
“Everything,” he answered, his face growing warm as he recalled the night, “everything from Hernando impressing your parents to…uh, going to bed,” he explained, looking down at the pattern on her dress.
She waited for him to say more, but he just continued looking down. Feeling that maybe he just needed some quiet time to get his thoughts in order, Mila rested her head on his shoulder, tracing imaginary patterns on his forearm. They sat like that for almost fifteen minutes. Bruno had taken her hand in his and brought it up to his mouth, gently kissing her knuckle.
“I’m sorry,” he apologized against her hand, “I shouldn’t have acted like that earlier.”
“Don’t say sorry,” she responded, “you have nothing to apologize for,” she said, trying to further soothe him.
“I just…waking up to you, um…like that, i-it…it was like a dream…” he chuckled, still blushing.
You sound like an idiot right now …
“Mph, stop, stop, stop,” he muttered to himself, shaking his head.
“I mean…I enjoyed waking up to you too,” she said softly, bringing her free hand to his jaw.
“H-hopefully…I-I, uh, we…maybe we could…d-do it again- if you want to, you don’t have to, b-but I just mean-.”
Stop stuttering, pendejo .
“Bruno,” she said, cutting him off with a finger to his lips and a grin, “I would like to do it again,” she nodded.
“G-good…yeah, that’s great,” he said after she had lifted her finger.
Pathetic …
“Shut up,” he hissed, squeezing his eyes shut.
Make me, pendejo .
“Are you alright?” she asked, bringing him out of his mind.
“Y-yeah, great. I, um, sorry,” he said, awkwardly shifting under her.
Before he could say anything else, she had leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to his parted lips. He went still, shocked by her sudden demonstration of affection. When she pulled back, less than a couple seconds after, she stroked his cheek with her thumb.
“Each time you unnecessarily apologize, I’m going to kiss you,” she stated with a playful smile.
He could only laugh awkwardly, his face feeling hot as he tried to calm his pounding heart. She was so kind, so sweet to him, going as far as to calm him down when he got too worked up. No one outside of his sisters had ever done something like that before.
“I should probably get going. I would hate for your family to notice that I’m in the same clothes from yesterday,” she said, moving to stand.
Go with her .
“Uh I-I can go with…you,” Bruno offered, catching her hand before she moved too far away.
“Oh, sure,” she agreed, seeming pleasantly surprised.
They made their way downstairs. The house still seemed to be asleep. When they stepped outside, both could see the sun barely beginning to rise over the mountains. It was much earlier than either of them had assumed.
“Thank you for coming, I’m enjoying the company,” she said once they’d gotten down the hill.
“Y-yeah, of course,” Bruno nodded, still a bit nervous.
Flirt with her. This is your novia, estupido!
“Um…I’m really glad your parents seemed to like me, er, Hernando as me, I guess…” he said.
Seriously? That’s the best you can come up with? ¡Ay, esa está inmamable! No está ni tibio, Bruno…
“A-and I’m hoping t-that we get to see each other more, now that all the, um, official business is taken care of,” he added, glancing at her with an awkward laugh.
Mila smiled, amused by his ramblings. Taking his hand in her own, she just nodded and continued on the path back to the cantina. Bruno, on the other hand, was having an internal battle with Hernando’s constant commenting and directing.
When they reached the cantina, Mila told Bruno to wait on the steps. She would go change quickly and be right back. With a heavy sigh, Bruno collapsed on the steps of the cantina, holding his head between his hands, grumbling at Hernando to stop talking.
Ask her on a date, don’t be weird!
“Shut up, por favor , just shut up,” he groaned, rubbing his temples.
Don’t tell me to shut up, you wouldn’t even be here without me, que bola.
“You’re an idiot,” Bruno huffed, squeezing his eyes shut tighter.
You can’t even talk to her,¡caremonda malparido!
“Whoa, watch the language, I hope you don’t talk like that around the family,” Bruno gasped, quietly talking to himself.
I hope you stop embarrassing the both of us in front of her…
“Bruno?”
He jumped slightly, turning around to see Mila standing by the door with fresh clothes. She had combed her hair and chosen a dark blue skirt with a white blouse. She held her hands behind her back and smiled sweetly.
“Uh, h-hi,” he said, mentally slapping himself.
Ay…you’re so bad at talking to her…
“Are you alright?” she asked, noticing how stressed he seemed.
“Yeah, uh, yes, I’m…good,” he nodded, standing up and offering his hand.
She accepted it, walking with him back to Casita with their fingers intertwined. Once they were out of the plaza and on the path approaching the hill, Bruno glanced at her from the corner of his eye.
“Um, I...I wanted to ask if you were busy today? I wanted to make up for the date that, um, well, Hernando took you on,” he said, keeping his eyes on his shoes.
“I would love to,” she agreed, squeezing his hand softly.
“G-great, um, the village should be opening their shops right now. Maybe we could…grab some things from the, uh, bakery and go t-to the lake instead of going, um…back to Casita?” he suggested, risking another glance at her.
She was looking at him with that beautiful smile. “Okay,” she nodded, her cheeks tinted a light pink.
They walked hand-in-hand down the streets of the village. They passed the shoemaker, the leather smith, the seamstress and the butcher. Each family stopped and stared for a moment, shocked to see Bruno with the young woman. Mila, feeling so many eyes on her, walked closer to him, the open staring making her a little annoyed and anxious. By the time they reached the bakery, they could hear the whispers beginning to travel.
“…that Madrigal with señor Reyes’s hija…”
“They’re engaged…she’s using him…”
“…would their child be like them?”
“Hernando…Bruno…"
"...the mean one…the weird one…”
Mila cupped his jaw once they’d reached the entrance to the bakery. She could sense his growing nerves. Her touch shook Bruno from his listening and spiraling, bringing him back to his body.
“I’m here with you,” she said softly, leaning up to kiss his cheek.
They gossip because they’re small minded…too busy discussing your life so they don’t have to dwell on their own misery…
Bruno was surprised momentarily. That had to be the kindest thing Hernando had ever said in his mind. While it wasn’t necessarily encouragement, it was a token of soothing wisdom he would have never guessed his alternate carried in him.
“S-so I was thinking una rebanada de roscon y pan de queso, ” Bruno suggested, seeming just the slightest bit calmer.
“Sounds perfect,” she nodded, following him through the door and to the counter.
The baker, an older woman with little need for hushed nonsense warmly greeted the couple. The woman was also a close friend to Alma, meaning she was very familiar with the family.
“Aye, what a surprise,” the baker said with a warm smile, “And where is tú mamá , mijo ?” she asked, setting out a fresh tray of desserts.
“Probably just getting up, señora Fuentes ,” Bruno said a little shyly, smiling at the woman.
“Ah, qué bueno , what can I get you?” she nodded.
Bruno ordered for the both of them, pulling a few coins from his pocket to pay. Mila kept beside him, watching his timid interaction with the baker. She teased Bruno about needing to buy more if he were to get any meat on his bones before the couple left.
“She’s nice,” Mila commented, holding the bag in one hand, her other linked with his.
“She’s a friend of my mom’s,” he shrugged, keeping his eyes focused on the path.
“I should have grabbed a blanket from my room,” she said as they approached the lake.
“Oh, here,” he said, tugging off his ruana and spreading it out on the grass.
“Bruno, you don’t have to, I’m fi-.”
“I want to, mi estrella ,” Bruno insisted, helping her settle on his ruana, pulling the bag of different breads to rest between them.
Nice one, estúpido. It seems you’ve picked up a few lessons from me after all…
Bruno couldn’t help the little shake of his head, doing his best to ignore Hernando. He focused on Mila, taking one of her hands, bringing his other to gently run his thumb over her cheek. She closed her eyes, leaning into his palm.
“You’re too sweet,” she said softly, tugging on his hand.
Get closer .
“I know,” Bruno muttered, trying to block him out, shrinking the gap between them as he awkwardly shuffled towards her.
“Do you?” Mila giggled, thinking he was joking around with her.
“Uh,” he laughed nervously, “sorry, that was…bad,” he said, feeling awkward.
“Hey,” she leaned forward and kissed him quickly, “stop that,” she teased.
Bruno felt he could dissolve into a puddle, absolutely smitten with her at that moment. He was so overwhelmed by her affections that his mind went completely blank, Hernando’s words disappearing along with the rest of his brain.
“S-sorr-, oh, right,” he nodded, catching himself with a soft huff of amusement.
He reached into the bag, offering her one of the breads, breaking it in half for them to share. She thanked him and took the piece, breaking it into smaller, bite size pieces.
“What’s it like living in a magical house all your life?” she asked after swallowing a few pieces.
“Um, it’s…interesting. Helpful sometimes, annoying other times,” he shrugged, looking at the rippling water, “I think of Casita like a second parent in a way. That house kept us from broken bones when we were younger, always running around where we, uh, weren’t supposed to,” he added, grinning as he recalled the memories.
“Did you decide how your room turned out or was it Casita?” she asked, seeming genuinely interested.
“I think a little of both. When I’m sad, the sand falls faster for some reason and it helped me sleep as a kid...but, I would never have chosen all the stairs, that was completely Casita,” he said a laugh.
She laughed with him. “I think your bedroom reflects a lot of your personality,” she said, finishing the last of her piece.
“In a, um, good way or a bad way?” he questioned, swallowing the last of his own piece.
“Mhm…an accurate way,” she said thoughtfully, leaning into him a bit.
They sat there until the sun had fully risen and cast bright rays over them. They talked of passions, of hobbies, of books, and of memories. The conversations seemed to flow easier than Bruno expected. Hernando had kept his comments to a minimum, surprisingly.
“S-so I was wondering…you know you and, um, Hernando smoked yerba last night?” he questioned as they readied themselves to leave.
“Yeah?” she asked, a little nervous to why he brought it up so randomly.
“I-I was wondering if…maybe we, um, c-could do that…together, maybe?” he asked, nervously twisting the edge of his ruana as he stood in front of her.
“You want to…smoke?” she asked, not quite believing she heard him right.
“Y-yeah, I‘ve heard that it can help with muscle tension and, uh, headaches. I wanted to try it but, um, didn’t know where to get it…” he admitted, shifting from foot to foot anxiously.
“Sure, I mean,” she giggled, “I’m just surprised, you know? I would have never guessed you’d be interested since Julie, you know,” she shrugged.
“Y-yeah, well, I guess, I don’t know…I guess I wanted to see what all the talk is about,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck as he carried his ruana in the crook of his arm.
“If that’s really what you want, okay,” she nodded.
As they reached the cantina, Mila turned to Bruno and smiled brightly. A part of him didn’t want to part from her just yet, hoping to maybe find an excuse to spend a few more minutes with her. But, she had work and he had a line of people wanting visions.
“I had a really good time, Bruno,” she said, holding his hand.
“Me too,” he agreed with a slightly awkward lopsided smile and a nervous chuckle.
“So dinner tonight and then we’ll take a walk?” she reaffirmed, wanting to make sure the details they discussed were correct.
“I’ll be here to get you before sunset,” he nodded.
She reached up, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him into a tight hug. He gasped, caught off guard by her public display of affection. With some hesitancy, he curled his arms around her waist, being extra sure to keep his hands above the middle of her back.
“Don’t be late,” she purred into his ear, kissing him on the cheek before walking inside.
Not bad, tonto…
With a roll of his eyes and an annoyed huffed, he shook his head. As he walked back to the Casita, he reflected on his morning. He believed it to be the best morning of his life so far, waking up to her, having breakfast by the river, hearing her laugh and engaging him with her curiosities. Such a morning was one he used to think was only possible in his dreams. As he approached the house, he brought his hand up to his cheek, smiling to himself giddily as he eagerly awaited the evening to arrive.

Alriiiight i finished season 1 of sense8! You're were right it's really good. The show has excellent representation, not only about different sexualities, but also about different cultures and various issues and honestly, very few shows would dare to include all these themes together in a show.
The cast is diverse and very talented and it is quite a feat to find eight different people to cast as leads that all have great chemistry with each other. But they did, and they managed to develop and explore everyone equally.
That's the thing i really liked about this show, they really took their time to introduce the characters and explore them. And they used the concept of the sensates to do exactly that. If this was, let's say, the cw, they would have used the characters as plot devices to move the plot along. But that didn't happen, despite the fact that the whole concept of the sensates and the whispers is fascinating and original so many writers would have rushed to move the plot forward. They used it to tell the characters' stories and establish the relationships between them. I mean I'm sure fans could have claimed that in many occasions, the show was "too slow" because there were episodes where people literally just stood around talking. But i really liked it. It was very refreshing, especially after watching supergirl.
I love all the members of the cluster equally, i think i have a soft spot for Sun, Riley and Capheus though. Capheus' scenes with both of them were amazing.
Also Lito, boy I love him. Tried to fight joaquin with two flower pots. He's so precious. And his relationship with hernando is just the best.
And that finale, man, it was soooo great!! The stakes where so high and the way they all connected....whoa. Nomi, wow is there anything she can't hack? Amazing. Everything was going great and then damn! Will looked Whispers in the eyes. (that's really creepy btw, reminds me of the wiping angels at doctor who). Don't know how they are gonna fix that, they can't keep him sedated forever.
So far only will and riley have met in person. I hope they all gather together at some point.
The dynamic of the cluster is what makes the show so special.
I’m really glad you enjoyed. Sometimes I feel bad to recommend shows because I’m not sure if the person is gonna like it or not; but sense8 is the only show I have recommend that everyone ends liking.
Everything you said is true. The chemistry, the characters treatment, the finale.
Season 1 was a perfect way to set the characters backstory giving each one of them enough plot to make us love equally, and even if we have favorites we can’t say we don’t like one of them.
I love the finale because it shows how each one of them can add something to the cluster, and how each one of them is important to the cluster.
Now season 2 is bigger and the plot is more global than in season 1.
Also, the actor that played Capheus resign between seasons, and they recast him with another for the start of season 2. I’m not sure why he resign; apparently he didn’t like to do the orgy scenes and that’s something important to express in the show; the fact that each one of them feels everything at the same time.
Even me as ace felt ok with those moments.
I recommend you to watch the Christmas special that is the first episode of season 2. It gives you an idea of how is gonna be the season, but also is a long episode(is basically a short movie).
Thank you for giving a try and I’m glad you like it.
That show deserves more recognition.
And like you said, I want people that watched supergirl to see how a show treat their characters with love and respect. Because is possible.
(I also sent you a question a few days ago, not sure if you received it, because tumblr is a mess sometimes)

Do you have any kala and non-sensates headcanons?
sorry this took for-fucking-ever to answer, but i just couldn’t get in the right headspace to write these? for some reason? ANYWAY, Kala + non-sensates headcanons!!
Diego – Honestly doesn’t entirely get the whole sensatething yet – he’s more of the “I’m not gonna look at any of this too closely inthe hopes of maintaining my sanity” philosophy. So he’s a little iffy when hemeets the rest of the cluster, just kind of like quietly observing everyone, andthen he sees Will interact with Kala. As he gets more comfortable aroundeveryone he finds that he subconsciously takes on a protective older brotherrole toward Kala the same way Will does
Felix – He’d never admit it even though it was obviousto everyone, but Felix is initially a bit jealous of Kala and all the attentionWolfie gives her. It was just him and Wolfie for such a long time, and thenthis beautiful, smart, lovely woman comes up out of nowhere and honestly itmakes Felix feel a bit left out at first. That doesn’t last long though – Wolfieasks Felix to give her a chance, which he does begrudgingly, and they strike upa conversation. Five minutes later Kala and Felix are crying with laughter asthey share Wolfgang war stories - “I mean, I don’t mind, but what is it withhim and being naked all the time?? What is he, allergic to shirts?” “OH MY GOD IKNOW"
Wolfgang pretendsto be upset about it but really, he’s just happy the two most important peoplein his life are getting along
Daniela – They both love fashion, but what Kala loves mostis seeing Dani gradually loosen up more and get really into the conversation, excitedand gushing with everything she loves about the fashion industry - the way shetalks about designers and fabrics like they’re places she’s been, how she pullsout decade-old fashion magazines and books on the Christian Dior SpringCollection of 1998, talking about the way designers have to incorporate physicsand optics and all sorts of science into their work and how it’s just as much afeat of engineering as it is an art form
Hernando – They can talk themselves hoarse aboutmovies and art and dancing. Hernando has a way of putting into words all thereasons Kala loves these things in ways she’s never been able to articulatebefore. She likes being around someone who GETS it, who knows these are formsof art, beyond empty or silly entertainment
Bug – Bug is a genius in so many ways, not justcomputing. One day they’rehanging out and somehow the conversation ends up with them talking about thescience behind water purification systems and biological oxygen demand andmethane production by pathogenic microorganisms in contaminated water and aldehydes and benzenes and carboxyl groups, and the rest of the gang juststares at them dumbfounded because it doesn’t matter how many languages theyall speak, no one has any clue what they’re talking about

The Best Birthday Magic Show in Gauteng
If you want your child to have The Best Party Ever, then "Stevie and his Big Red Box of Magic" is just what you need. This is Grade A children's entertainment for parties that will have your child having the party of a lifetime, ensuring special lifelong memories, all whilst you simply sit back and relax. It can be a daunting prospect to organise birthday party entertainment for around 30 over-excited children, especially when your day to day life is so busy. If your child’s party will be in Gauteng, then I can take care of it for you. Imagine for a second that you can have a birthday party where your child is the Star of the Show.  A birthday party that will be remembered for a lifetime by your child, knowing that they had The Best Birthday Party Ever.  Now imagine your guests enjoying themselves so much, thanking you and admiring you for being able to put on such a great party, all while you are still able to enjoy a relaxing day making precious memories that will last a lifetime. Does this seem impossible?
The Perfect Birthday Entertainment
Three words sum up what 3 to 10 year olds want. Silly Silly Silly. And that's just what Stevie and the Big Red Box of MAGIC delivers. The birthday party entertainment begins the moment I come through the gate. The funniest and friendliest kids party magician in Gauteng has arrived.
Knee slapping hilarity, amazing tricks professionally and skillfully delivered, giveaways, audience participation, delightful balloon animals, feel - good music; these are all a given. I go beyond that.
I connect with your child and their friends, They experience genuine wonder and laugh like never before, You feel great as a parent, Together we make this ‘the’ birthday party entertainment your child will remind you about for years to come.
Kids Party Entertainment
Here's how my hilarious show goes.
I meet the children and let them guide me to the performing area.
To the sounds of toe tapping, feel - good music from my self contained PA system I spend five minutes building rapport with them before the show. This is hilarious from the word go.
All aboard, the hugely interactive magic show begins.
The kids delight as magic wands take on a life of their own and keep 'comically' hitting me. (It's what magicians have to put up with.)
Coins magically start appearing from children's ears. First one, then a few, then the entire audience is throwing imaginary coins. This has to be seen to be believed.
Hernando the World's Strongest Flea charms everyone with his super human feats.
Then Peeky the Cheeky Monkey has all the children giggling and rolling and jumping - quite literally... Kids go crazy over this first rate birthday party entertainment.
Some juggling to lots of ooh's and aah's then the rest of the show is devoted to your child.
They get to wear a magical magicians costume and have some giggles with me - a terrific photo here for your family album - then with all their friend's encouragement they magically make a R20 note which is my gift to them. It comes with with a classy, personalised birthday card that looks great alongside their ' magician' picture in your photo album.
Now I present the birthday child with a really cool crazy balloon hat.
To finish the show they magically produce lollipops for all their friends. No one misses out.
AFTER THE SHOW, ALL THE KIDDIES GET BALLOON ANIMALS!!!  YAY!!!
Let me take the stress from you by providing the perfect birthday party entertainment for your child’s special day. I'm based in Krugersdorp and cover Sandton, Johannesburg and Pretoria.
