I would just like to say how hard it hits me in the chest to see Charlie masking every time she's onscreen the day before the fight (including what we see on Vox's spy screens of course), except when no one is with her but Vaggie. Even during her emotional speech she tries so damn hard to keep that confidence up and smile on. But we do see her stop masking twice, when the only person watching her is Vaggie.

First:

No one's really paying attention to her, and she's not smiling; she's worried. When Vaggie approaches her, she doesn't put on a happy face. She talks about her mom with the same smile as in the first episode (during a very emotionally vulnerable moment with Vaggie, might I add). It's not happy or confident. It's nostalgic, wistful, and sad, because her mom's absence is something very personal and painful for her. When Vaggie asks if they're ready, Charlie doesn't instantly start to smile or answer with confidence even though she usually would (even within that short beat of time), because her mask is off. She's not confident or optimistic. She's scared. She's not ready.

Then Pentious comes out and she's all smiles again! The mask comes back on when someone other than Vaggie is there.

Second:

Of course, one of our favorite scenes. Charlie's alone when she breaks down, but when Vaggie shows up, she keeps the mask off. She admits how scared she is. When she does smile, it's not the big smile she's been throwing on throughout the day, and it's not strained either. It's soft, gentle, and real. She's not masking. Vaggie is genuinely making her feel better when she's finally letting herself fall apart, just by being there and reminding her that no matter what happens, she's already accomplished so much, and she's so loved.

Charlie is under a lot of stress and pressure. She's scared. She's not as optimistic as she's making herself out to be. She's giving everything she's got out there being a strong, confident, inspirational leader and friend in front of everyone, and it's only with Vaggie that she lets it go. She doesn't have to try to be strong. She doesn't pretend. She lets down her guard, because for her, Vaggie is that one infinitely special person who gets to see every part of her; the one person she can always be her honest self with.

There were plenty of times in other episodes when Charlie didn't mask her negative emotions around people, but that was when she didn't have anyone looking to her as a leader. She's running on adrenaline and the weight of people's expectations as Extermination Day gets closer, and she can't let the mask she's put on slip in public. She has to seem like she's totally ready for what's coming. But Vaggie is different.

The amount of trust and love Charlie has for her is staggering. She's under an insane amount of stress and pressure, and having Vaggie by her side is probably the only thing keeping her from completely falling to pieces. Seeing a relationship so full of deep trust and love is absolutely beautiful. <3

but fr outside of my contracted madness i absolutely refuse to give joe alwyn gold rush like how is that song at all related to their relationship the lyrics clearly spell out a relationship that either never existed or only existed in implication and fantasies and maybe-maybe nots and its so bitter and yet desperately soft in the bridge where it almost projects a sense of envy, of wanting to be them as much as you want them. It continues an interesting oft ignored lyrical trend of taylor wanting just as much to be her lover as to have them, envying their easy charisma (you were flush with the currency of cool/i was always turning out my pockets) or quiet dignity (your integrity makes me seem small) dating back to her earliest songs (the kind of flawless i wish i could be). Theres a projected self hatred and yearning to be better that twists itself into both romantic and sexual lust for her partners thats so fascinating and speaks to how all of her songs regardless of who theyre about are also an act of self reflection on who she is and who she wishes to be.

So I want to bring up something swifties keep talking about. When doing “what your favorite Taylor album says about you” videos and posts people keep dissing people whose favorite album is TTPD.

I’m seeing a lot of if TTPD is your favorite then your previous favorite wasn’t valid or wasn’t actually your favorite. One specific point I saw brought up was that if your favorite changed so quickly then the last one wasn’t truly your favorite.

I mean this in the kindest way possible but no. TTPD is my favorite album because I was able to really connect with the songs and lyrics. That’s true for songs on Taylor’s other albums but TTPD has the most connected songs for me. I was able to relate more and better understand some of my emotions that I was trying to work through.

I just hope that when swifities make posts they are kind and don’t try and put anyone down or try and make them feel bad about themselves. Having your favorite album change is normal and if TTPD became your favorite in April then I hope you are enjoying the music to the fullest.

Why does it matter what I think of the Trans-Danny headcanon?

Honestly, you're right when it comes to what you've said under this question, I won't say anything on that. But I come on here just like any other anon to discuss/ask whatever about pompous-pep because I can't with all the antis buzzing around. I had a question that I thought was reasonable to ask. You've drawn only a little bit of Trans Danny, and from what I've seen everywhere else you respond positively to it, so I thought it would have been safe to ask. I was curious about what you thought of it since it is one of the more popular fan cannons. I was still nervous when I first asked so I totally babbled my question, and reading your response about it you seemed a bit confused about what I was asking. So I wrote up another and when I was writing my first response I saw another anon post about my original question and I was a little ticked off with:

“the person who didn't like the trans Danny depiction you did just because they don't see him as trans themselves”

I never said I didn't like the art, I just said didn't see danny as a trans character. So I overloaded my next response when I shouldn't have. I was attempting to clarify my thoughts so It would be clearer on what I was asking. Treating it as if I were talking to that one anon through you, instead of you and whispering audience. You answered my question to the best of your abilities when I initially asked and I should have acknowledged that better in my following response, I shouldn't have taken that out on you when my problem was with another anon. I'm sorry for that, Hal.

3rd paragraph: this is actually what I was trying to get an answer for. Funny enough I do that too, hitting my faves with the trans beam is fun as hell, especially when it has a passion put into it.

5th paragraph: No, I don't really tell people openly, unless the discussion is about it. I'm also comfortable enough to be open about my transness when it comes to that kind of discussion like how I was in my first ask

Most of these “discussions” happened in the polluted swamps that used to be named Twitter so…

Also I realized I muddled my in the last response “I don't see danny as a trans character” into “I don't like trans danny” My bad Bender. I simplified my statement like an idiot. I don't mind the fan cannon, I just don't agree with it. That doesn't mean I hate it.

My phrase “Just porn” was said because the only art of trans danny was nsfw. I wasn't thinking of the fact your pieces weren't made out of malice or disregard, because I was looking too into the words instead of who I was typing to. Which is so dumb on my part.

7th Paragraph: I'm sure you're implying something but I think I'm just too dense to see it. Because Trans Danny enthusiastically riding Vlad doesn't bug me. that's hot as fuck. I can and have always enjoyed media with trans characters, in both non-sexual and sexual situations. Draw him pregnant I don't care. Why would I want you to apologize for good drawing art when that is one of the main reasons I followed you???? I might need some elaboration on that…

8th? Paragraph: when I stumble onto trans danny stuff I don't interact most of the time because I don't care. I don't go out looking for it, because I don't care for it. I don't just go around asking about it and then tell yap about I don't care for the Trans danny fan cannon. Because that's annoying.

why should it matter what someone else thinks?: It doesn't, but I feel like a person looking for a option would probably just click the ask button to see what someone else thinks

If anything is to blame here, I think it's today's fandom environment. So much toxicity and meanness and bad-faith arguments happening over things that should be giving us joy. I never know when the next free-range anti is going to appear in my inbox, asking disingenuous questions in an attempt to bait me or harass me. At the same time, I shouldn't be so quick to raise my eyebrow whenever I receive an anon ask about a sensitive fandom topic. I'm letting suspicion and paranoia get the better of me if I do. One thing I really like about the movie portrayal of the von Krolocks is that you really get to understand how utterly lonely life is in the castle. It is made very clear how isolated the castle is, there are a ton of dark and very dusty places that have not been touched in a very long time. When Koukoul brings Abronsius and Alfred to the Count said Count is playing chess in a big empty room on a big empty table all by himself. 

When Alfred meets Herbert, it’s clear that Alfred not only ends up standing right in front of a vampire that not only wants to eat him and quite taken with him from the get go. But also that Herbert has probably for quite some time not met anyone aside from the other residents of the castle. 

There is a certain natural hunger in the interactions that can be expected from increasingly hungry vampires, but there is also a very clear sentiment and demand of, interestingly enough, both Abronsius and Alfred to stay. Forever.
