may i request “you love me? are you sure?” from the idiots to lovers prompt list for caspar, dimitri, sylvain and dedue from three houses?
“you love me? are you sure?”
Fandom: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Characters: Dimitri, Caspar, Dedue, Sylvain
Type of Request: Headcanons
Notes: This is very cute, I’m happy to do this!!
Caspar
Completely taken aback when you confess your feelings towards him. He just didn’t see it coming at all and had no idea until you actually said something. No matter how obvious you might’ve been.
“you love me? are you sure?” He asks in disbelief because again, he had no idea! Don’t get me wrong, he’s happy but he needs to process this information first.
Immediately offers to take you on a date. He doesn’t really know of any good date ideas though, but he likes to spar so maybe you’d like to as well! Or you can watch him and he’ll try to look extra cool for you!
Has like zero experience with dating others and so he doesn’t really know what to do. He knows he’s beyond happy, but he’s clumsy. Caspar does make up for his inexperience with being very determined to be a good boyfriend for you.
Dedue
Raises an eyebrow when he hears your confession. It is... unusual. Your feelings towards him aren’t unwelcomed, but considering who he is, he didn’t think anyone would confess. Much less you.
“you love me? are you sure?” It’s direct and serious as he asks. You know what people say about him. He knows the whispers and harsh words that get spoken. Should you wish to pursue a relationship, they might turn towards you as well.
But if you truly mean what you say, he will take care of you. He will protect you with his life and make sure you know he loves you in return.
Dedue definitely doesn’t have experience with romance, but he’s blunt and has no hesitation with telling you his feelings and how he sees you. Should you ever question anything, know that he is quick to give you his own love and tell you every thought he has.
Dimitri
Dimitri freezes when he hears your confession. He’s received his fair share of them as being with him would be a good way to help someone’s status and house. But for you to confess to him...
“you love me? are you sure?” his voice is soft and gentle as if he’s trying not to scare you away in case you change your mind. He hopes that you won’t change your mind, but he also wants to make sure you actually mean this.
Definitely nervous as he also doesn’t have a lot of experience with being in relationships, but he promises to make you happy. You will be treated right and he’ll do his damnedest to never let you down.
Expect to get many trinkets and presents from him as a way to show his affection. He gets tongue tied around you easily and is still nervous about physical affection, so he hopes his gifts can help show his feelings while he learns how to treasure you.
Sylvain
Definitely wasn’t expecting you to confess to him. Sure, he’s had countless of girls (and some guys) confess feelings towards him which he gladly dated until they realized their mistake. But you?
“you love me? are you sure?” he has to ask just to make sure you’re in the right mindset. I mean you two are close and you know about all his experiences with others. Why would you want to be with someone like him??
For a split second, he wonders if it’s the crest. You just got close to him so you could eventually get his crest for your own sake. He shakes that thought away because you actually befriended him first and he knows you wouldn’t mess with him like that.
Sylvain wants to accept your confession, he really does. But he’s hurt a lot of others and so he’s afraid that he might hurt you too. So he’ll need some time to think, but he promises he’ll give you an answer.

Blood From A Stone
Blue Lions Boys X Fem!Reader
Hello, my lovelies! I wrote this in an attempt to psyche myself up for these next few days as I will be traveling for a job interview. I hope you all have been staying warm these past few weeks (the temperature has been consistently negative where I am now). I will attempt to start working on my inbox once I return. This work was not originally going to go this far in-depth, but this is where the story wanted to go. Nonetheless, please enjoy!
Requests are open. The story will continue under the cut.
After what might have been a ten minute walk, Professor Byleth halted her Blue Lions in the middle of the woods surrounding the monastery. You felt the warmth of the late spring sun shining through the trees; an experience made more pleasant by the soft breeze rifling through your hair.
You and Ingrid had been speculating what exercise you might be coming outside to do, taking an opportunity to make conversation during the walk. Each Friday, the professor enforced some group activity - shopping relays in town, competitive hunting, blindfolded sparring matches - to let everyone better learn the strengths of their classmates.
Sure enough, you watched the former mercenary pull the infamous blindfolds out of the satchel sitting on her waist. A hefty exhale resounded next to you.
“Aw, come on! Not this again…” Annette whined.
No one could blame her; Dedue had hit her uncharacteristically hard in the confusion of his blindness during their match. She might even still be sore from last weekend.
“Now, now - repeating the same exercise two weeks in a row wouldn’t be much help to us. This is meant to build our sense of camaraderie, not our dread for the end of the week,” Byleth corrected. “Line up, please.”
You did so, shuffling into a spot between Annette and Ingrid as your teacher scrutinized the class.
Dimitri caught a green bandana in the same second Dedue was handed a brown one. Green for Ashe and Mercedes, brown for you and Annette.
“Teams,” Dedue noted.
“Please tie them around your foreheads. I’ll explain in a moment.”
A brown scrap of fabric landed in Felix’s palm, the bluenette bringing it to his forehead before Ingrid and Sylvain received their green cloths. Silently cheering, you watched Professor Byleth fix the final brown textile to her own head.
“Today’s activity focuses on both stealth and strategy. Everyone received a color responding to their team. Your objective is to steal all of your opponents’ headbands - the first team to lose all of which will lose.”
Immediately, Sylvain reached over Ashe’s head to pull Felix’s bandana off his head, dangling it in the air.
“One down, everyone!”
“You know damn well we haven’t started yet!” the swordsman snapped.
Dimitri grinned, “I must say Felix, I never saw you as someone to be so easily caught off your guard.”
Ingrid hardly held back a snicker, Ashe’s body practically trembling with a similar sentiment as he reflexively moved out of the way of the two nobles.
Felix clenched his hands into fists, “I’ll tear that cloth into tatters while it’s still wrapped around your insolent-”
“That’s quite enough.”
Professor Byleth eyed Sylvain, prompting him to quickly return Felix’s band. Not without receiving a moderate punch to the arm in retaliation, of course.
“The forest will be split down the middle in regards to starting positions. Those with green bands will begin on the east while brown will start on the west. Each team will be given one minute to conceal themselves, come up with a plan, and do anything else they see fit before I sound the whistle.”
“Your opponents’ accessories can be taken by any means necessary. While use of stealth is encouraged, feel free to use weapons and other advantages as you see fit. The goal is to win, first and foremost. Once you are eliminated, you are to return here until we finish.”
“Prepare to sit on your ass for fifteen minutes, boar.”
You couldn’t help the sound that came out of you at that. Dimitri’s eyes flashed over to discern your reaction before his face promptly flushed a light hue of pink.
“Wh- Sylvain took your headband, not me!”
The redhead frowned, lightly ghosting his hand over his new injury, “Throwing me to the wolves so quickly, your Highness? Maybe-”
“Oh, enough already,” Byleth huffed. “Off to the woods with you all. Right now. Sixty seconds!”
Newly motivated by the time constraint, everyone shifted to group up before rushing to their respective sides.
You weaved between the trees, Professor Byleth following close behind as you trailed Dedue and Annette. Not long after you reached a central-western location, Felix instantly pulled the two in front of you aside.
“...-ce at the northern end of the forest where the dirt is…”
A bit confused, you shifted your eyes to meet those of your professor. Apparently, neither of you were invited to this strategy meeting.
That meant you weren’t needed then, right?
It was all the same to you. Better than the same, actually; an archer flying solo on a stealth mission in the woods didn’t sound like a terrible assignment in the least.
To top it all off, Professor Byleth on her own elsewhere in the forest at the same time? The anticipation would surely kill you. Maybe you would even see her skills more personally than you had on the few traditional battlefields your class fought on so far.
You were brought back to the present as your professor turned to you in real life, nodding at you before slipping into the shadow of a thick tree.
Sticking around just a little longer, you gathered enough snippets of Felix’s conversation to understand his plan. He wanted to make a hole in the ground on the northern side large enough to hold as many members of the opposing side as possible. It sounded a bit ambitious, but you supposed that was nothing new concerning the second son.
In any case, your team seemed to masquerade as the better part of a mess. You wondered how things were with Ingrid…
…45, 46, 47…
After a moment, you strengthened your resolve. The best way to see what the other team was up to would be to go see for yourself, right?
Swiftly working your way counterclockwise around the forest, you snuck over to the eastern side, crossing over only upon hearing a shrill note knocking against the trees. It was now imperative to stay hidden in whatever darkness would conceal you. Having a bow certainly made this easier in terms of mobility since you could just sling it across your body.
Even the animals seemed quiet. Accordingly, you were on high alert. Your movements became more careful, more deliberate as your heart began to race in anticipation. No stepping on branches or leaves; just grass and dirt. No bumping against the trees or sudden movements; just liquid flow and shady cover. Soft, swift, and silent.
Once you believed yourself to have rounded the terrain far enough, you stopped, climbing the tree with the best vantage point in the area and scanning the shady path where your opponents must have started. That is, if the ruined leaves on the ground served as any clue. Prepared for action, you took your bow off your back and pulled an arrow out of the slim training quiver you had been given. Patience was a game you were sure to win, especially in such a good position.
Nothing happened, though. You detected no movement, no flash of colors, and you eventually concluded that the other group must have had a similar idea. After all, most people are right handed, so they might have felt more comfortable countering on the northern side than from the south.
You were somewhat discouraged at your failure to help, but it was no big deal. Especially not when you heard the sound of branches snapping back the way you came. Felix’s strategy must have worked - there was nothing else you could imagine that might make that kind of sound. It must have been effective, too; you recalled an offhanded comment he made about Leonie teaching him something about traps.
Resigning yourself to picking off any stragglers that might have strayed from the group near Felix, you lowered yourself from your tree. Perhaps enough time remained for you to return to your side and assess the damages to see who was left.
Progressing back the way you came would be simple enough. Although you were intent on remaining undetected, you heard several branches snapping and some shouting up ahead.
Felix must have really gotten to them.
You grew close enough to the commotion to recognize Dimitri and Ashe’s voices as the ones yelling, but it made no sense. You had hardly moved a few paces past the tree you were in, and you were still circling the southern side of the forest.
Why were they being so loud? Did they lose, or did they forget this was meant to be a stealth exercise?
But that didn’t make sense, either. They were the best listeners in Professor Byleth’s class, barring Annette; there’s no way they would slack off now of all times.
Silently, you crept toward their shouts until you were brought to a wall of greenery. If you went through…
You didn’t have enough time to hide before they came barreling through the bush.
“Woah!” an ambush? And you fell for it, no less?
Ashe’s eyes widened, his natural agility allowing him to dodge you just in time. Dimitri, with no such skill, slammed into you. The two of you crashed into the ground, the prince scrambling to the weapon you knocked out of his hands as Ashe pulled you onto your feet.
“Come on, get up!” the archer begged you.
Dimitri frantically shot off the dirt while Ashe started to guide you in the direction they were running. You didn’t have a moment to collect your thoughts or ask questions.
The crown prince’s longer legs carried him past you before he grabbed your left arm with his free hand. Your right hand still connected to Ashe, the three of you formed a chain for a moment as Dimitri lent you his momentum.
A terrible roar emanated from the bush where the boys appeared, prompting you all to detach and pick up the pace. The sounds of three sets of feet slamming against the dirt bounced off the trees in the forest.
Two crest beasts barrelled through the shrubs, snapping branches in their pursuit of you and your friends.
“How?” you pleaded, your legs moving impossibly faster with the new adrenaline rush.
“No clue,” Dimitri weaved between the trees, his breath heavy, “where they came from.”
A wave of terror pulsed through you. All you felt were eyes on your back, on your friends, and there was nothing you could do about it. They approached, so much larger and covering so much more ground.
Naturally, your smaller size and unfamiliarity with the area caught up with your group. The demons pursuing you could simply demolish the forest in their path, but Dimitri could only get so far before his height forced him to fumble through a group of low-hanging branches.
Unable to slow down, you crashed into him, sprawling to the forest floor. Ashe had once again been attentive and agile enough to change course, but you and the prince lied prone on the ground.
A sound of anticipation came in the form of an unearthly squeal from one of the monsters trailing seconds behind you. If you did nothing here, you would surely die.
Upon noticing Dimitri had again dropped his lance in his fall, you snatched it and flipped over to face one of the beasts, contesting a well-timed snap of its jaw by holding the weapon up and angling it to act as a pike. It worked just well enough to force the creature’s mouth open…
…until the beast’s maw clamped down on the training weapon, struggling over it with you before it splintered and snapped.
Knocked backwards, your shoulders never got the chance to hit the ground. Dimitri had been given enough time to stand, placing his hands under your arms and dragging you back while Ashe shouted from another direction.
The archer’s cries were enough to split the horrific hunting party, though the only thing you and Dimitri did was continue running.
This is hopeless. All our weapons are meant for training, Ashe is on his own, there are no other fighters with us…
“We can’t keep running,” you breathed, looping around a tree to throw the monster off your trail, “something has to change.”
…Felix…
You curved around the forest, switching to head back to your group, “Follow me.”
The two of you determined that zig-zagging was the best way to outrun the monster, though if you slowed down, you would no doubt be back on the ground again.
Intuitively, you followed the path you were fairly certain Dimitri’s teammates must have taken to get to the western part of the forest. All the while, you silently prayed that your legs would continue to carry you at a pace fast enough that the beast wouldn’t gain too much ground.
Not that it could be helped; you took two strides for every one of the beast’s.
“Felix! Felix, where are you?”
“Felix!” Dimitri followed your lead.
A figure appeared in the distance, his fair skin and blue hair giving him away, “Why the hell are you two-?”
The shriek from the beast trailing you and the prince drowned out the rest of his sentence.
“Felix, where’s the trap?!”
“Shit,” he cursed, though you couldn’t hear. “This way!”
Pushing yourself just a bit further, you forced your mind to ignore the screams of protest from your body. Felix sprinted just ahead of you, his lack of fatigue allowing him to match pace with your adrenaline spike before he rounded a bush.
“Get the professor!” your teammate ordered someone you couldn’t see.
Dimitri rushed past you to follow the bluenette. Upon leaving the beast’s line of sight, however, he was yanked into the large shrub. You recognized Felix’s hand wrapping around your arm before you stumbled into him, entering the branches as well.
“Thank you, Dedue,” you heard Dimitri’s voice next to you, the phrase uttered out between gasps for air.
It was in the split second before the beast rounded the shrub that you turned your head and recognized the trick. The covering on the pit was placed in the path next to the bush you four were in. If someone hadn’t known to stop and take a route through the hedge, they would have fallen through the dirt.
And upon seeing Professor Byleth appear at the other end of the pit, creator sword drawn to lure the crest beast toward her, you recognized how smart your teammates really were.
The pit wasn’t big enough to hold a crest beast by any means, but it certainly did the trick to immobilize it as the monster lost its footing. A well placed strike to the crest stone on the back of its neck shattered the source of its power. You could only stare at the crumbling animal, its bony limbs reduced to dust. The only thing lying in the crater at the end was…
“A person?” Dedue balked.
You moved to get a closer look before realizing Felix still had his arm around you.
“Um…”
Absentmindedly, he released you, throwing an apology over his shoulder before going to examine the woman lying dead in what very much could have been her grave.
Unbeknownst to you, your body was beginning to shut down. Running all that way left you exhausted, and having done so at a sprint certainly didn’t make matters any better. Yet the second you sank to the ground to truly catch your breath, you remembered.
Ashe.
“P-Professor,” you coughed, “...Ashe-”
“...What?”
“Damn, we left Ashe in the forest!” Dimitri agonized.
Byleth’s eyes sharpened, “Understood. I’ll go find him.”
“I’m coming, too.”
“What?” Felix questioned. “No, there’s no way - you’re way too tired.”
“Dimitri and I are the only ones who know where he is!”
At this, the prince attempted to rise from his position bracing on his knees “Then I’ll go.”
“Are you kidding me? You’re a worse candidate than I am - you’re still bleeding from the trees!”
“Bleeding? I’m not-”
“Your highness,” Dedue cut him off, “your chest.”
Certainly, his uniform was ripped in places, blood pooling out from the cuts he received when he scraped himself on the branches, earlier.
“You must not have felt it due to the adrenaline. We should get you to Mercedes.”
Sure of yourself, you began to walk backwards in the direction you came from, “Professor, there’s no time! You have your sword, so if push comes to shove, I’ll be fine. Ashe doesn’t have a proper weapon, though, and he must have been running for a long time!”
Professor Byleth wasted no words, “Fine then. Lead the way.”
As the two of you picked up the pace, she turned to call out, “Be sure to clear that girl out of the pit! Get her to Mercedes!”
The dull ache in your legs became impossible to ignore once you ran back into the forest. Still, through a mix of retracing your steps and following the sounds of roaring and trees snapping, you managed to get close to where you and Ashe had parted ways.
Sure enough, several trees had been reduced to splinters and fallen trunks. The damage created a small clearing, through which you could see your friend. He looked really out of it, the forest around him a mess from the beast’s rage.
“Ashe! Over here!”
The professor hit the creature a few times with her sword, extending its reach to divert its attention to herself. Recognizing her attempts to hurt it, the beast reared its head and focused its efforts on Byleth.
She had provided enough of a distraction that Ashe could make it to you. Allowing himself a moment’s respite, he braced himself on his knees similar to how Dimitri had earlier. Breathless, the two of you watched your mentor’s skills at work.
The creator sword would wrap around the wild creature’s neck; Byleth’s obvious attempt at trying to break the stone. Each time, the tether was countered by a snap of the beast’s teeth, or her attack missed entirely. The angle was impossible from where she was standing.
“Fall back, you two - I’ll be right behind you!”
Ashe began to protest, “But-”
“You’re both tired, you’ll need whatever headstart I can give y-ngh!”
Her opponent had grown impatient, swiping its claws at the chain of her sword before her next attack could connect. The weapon was yanked to the side, knocking the professor off balance for a moment and sending the weapon flying out of her hand.
“Just go! I promise I’ll be right there!”
Willing your legs to move, you grabbed Ashe’s wrist and pulled him up, guiding him the first few steps of the way. Once he managed to find his footing, you took a position to lead him back to the group in the west.
You didn’t think you would be able to do much of anything tomorrow, after this. The taste of blood stained your every breath, your throat felt dry to the point it hurt, and you were surprised you could even lift your legs anymore. The adrenaline had worn off by the time you left Dimitri with Dedue.
The noise increasing behind you cut off your train of thought. The pounding of paws much heavier than your own feet thundered against the forest floor. Leaves crushed so loudly you could have sworn they were snapping logs, and the veil of the safety you thought you still had was quickly torn away.
What about Professor Byleth? She should have been on her feet, should have caught up to you and Ashe by now if-
“Keep moving!”
The voice next to you startled you almost enough to make you lose your footing, but a steady hand at your back and the sight of a flash of green hair at your side kept you upright.
“Over here, Professor! This way!”
Annette waved her arms over her head, signaling a new location nearby. They must have created a separate trap in the time you had been away.
But why…?
A snap at your backs inspired the three of you to round this new shrub at record speed. This time, you were ready when Dedue pulled you into the bushes.
“Woah!”
You supposed you had forgotten to warn Ashe.
Sure enough, everything else was the same story, just with different people. The Professor pivoted out of Sylvain’s hold in time to pull the sword she retrieved from her hip. The beast fell in the trap upon rounding the hedge, giving her a more advantageous angle to properly fracture the stone, reverting the creature to the body of a young man.
“I don’t understand,” Felix’s brow furrowed, Ashe ducking out of his hold and falling to the ground to finally breathe.
You were beginning to feel similarly. Were it not for Dedue, you doubted you would be standing. Your classmate seemed privy to this knowledge, as well.
“I will bring you to Mercedes.”
A nod was all you could muster while Dedue bent to put an arm beneath your legs, lifting you off the ground. The air you were practically drinking filled your lungs with more oxygen than you thought they could hold, and your resulting breaths sounded almost raspy. Respectfully, you ensured that your head was turned away from Dedue (though it was also to ensure you could get as much air as possible).
Even still, you managed to catch the final words of those behind you.
“Why didn’t you just take that girl to Mercedes and reuse the last trap?” Professor Byleth wondered.
“Well…” Sylvain, “there wasn’t really a point...she was already dead.”
“...then…this boy…?”
You tried not to focus on the silence that followed her final question.
A few paces later and Dedue had made it to the outskirts of the woods. It was where you all met at the beginning of the exercise.
Mercedes approached the two of you before you cleared the trees, guiding Dedue to set you down on a patch of soft grass in the shade next to three green scraps of fabric. She must have anticipated your arrival.
“Will she be alright?”
“Oh, yes,” Mercedes assured him, though her light tone didn’t match the furrow of her brows. “She’s mostly dealing with fatigue, but the strain on her lungs should be soothed before she tries to go anywhere.”
A moment of silence.
“Where is his Highness?”
The glow of soft magic hovered over you before you felt inclined to close your eyes. You tried not to focus on the strange feeling coursing through you - you still weren’t used to healing spells, yet.
“He and Ingrid went back to the monastery to consult Lady Rhea about all this.” She sighed, and you felt a pause in the flow of her enchantment, “I don’t really understand everything that happened today. It all feels so wrong.”
“I agree. There should not have been any crest beasts this close to the academy. The knights should have noticed.”
Another pause led to a stronger wave of magic passing through your lungs; it was all you could do to focus on breathing next to this weird feeling, but you opened your eyes just to make sure you were still okay.
“I will head back to the monastery as well.”
The healer nodded, “I’ll let the professor know.”
“Let me know what?”
It seemed the rest of your class made it out of the forest. Professor Byleth approached at the lead, followed close behind by Annette, and finally by Felix and Sylvain supporting a pale and winded Ashe.
As Dedue filled your teacher in on everything, Mercedes abandoned you to go help Ashe. Annette replaced her, kneeling where her friend sat just a moment ago to continue her work. Fortunately, you didn’t feel like there was much left to do.
“Right. You can head back. Take some of the training weapons with you, please - I have a feeling everyone else will have their hands full by the time we head back.”
Dedue removed the brown band wrapped around his forehead, adding it to the pile lying about a meter away from your feet. Picking up the discarded wooden lance, bow, and sword lying in a pile closer to the woods, he turned and wordlessly took the path leading back to Garreg Mach.
“My bow…” you remembered, testing out your voice from your position on the ground, “I think…I dropped it somewhere in the forest?”
Felix scoffed, “With the amount of trees those beasts managed to fell, I don’t think a bit more wood lying around would hurt anyone. The Church can just buy a new one. They replace training weapons all the time.”
“Take it from Felix, they’re used to broken weapons,” Sylvain grinned. “Repairing a broken bow can’t be much different than replacing a missing one.”
A small huff of air came from the swordsman’s nose at his classmate’s remark. Rather than respond, however, he just turned back to you.
“How the hell are you still awake after all that? I expected you to have passed out by now.”
“Me? Shouldn’t you be more worried about Ashe? Whatever running I did, he ran and then some.”
“He did pass out.”
Turning your head to where Mercedes knelt, you found your friend sleeping on the grass, uneven breaths heaving from his chest.
After everything he went through by himself, you could only think that he deserved to rest.
“Professor? What is it?”
Annette’s inquisition immediately led your mind to drop the subject, turning instead to see Professor Byleth lost in thought.
“I’m just…trying to understand something. Those people that came from those monsters - did I kill them, or were they already dead? How did this happen so close to the monastery without anyone coming to help us? And…”
No one knew what to say. You hadn’t recognized the people that died, not their clothing or their faces.
“Nevermind. We need to head back in case anything else unexpected is looking to find us.”
“That should be just fine, Professor,” Mercedes agreed. “I’ve made sure these two are stable. The best thing for everyone now would be to rest.”
“Very well,” your teacher began circling around to everyone, collecting their headbands to place in the bag she had left here earlier.
Annette extended her hand out before Professor Byleth made her way over to the two of you. Taking it, you attempted to get up only to be frustrated by the fatigue of your legs. A sharp inhale followed by a hiss of pain accompanied the feeling of Annette lowering you back to the ground.
“Yeah…might not be ready for that yet…” you gritted your teeth.
Byleth walked over, tugging the brown textile off your head in a fluid motion, “Sylvain, please help her get back to the monastery. Felix, you can carry Ashe.”
“What?!”
Sylvain barely contained his laughter, approaching you with easy footsteps and lifting you off the ground bridal-style.
“You’re sure you want Sylvain of all people carrying the woman that can’t walk? Or fend for herself right now, for that matter?”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got plenty of experience with this sort of thing.”
“...with carrying people?” you raised a brow.
Sylvain winked, “...with carrying women that can’t walk.”
Professor Byleth hit him on the back of the head so hard that Sylvain dropped you on the ground.
You landed, reeling with a small squeak and a light curse. Your breath came labored through your teeth from the incidental blow to your legs. Not that it could have hurt as much as whatever she just did to Sylvain.
“Agh- What the hell, Professor?!”
“You and Felix have done an excellent job of changing my mind. I think we would all feel better if you volunteered to carry Ashe back with us, instead.”
Now it was Felix’s turn to fight a smirk, though he was hardly trying. After making sure you were okay from your slight fall, he picked you up in much the same way Sylvain had mere moments ago.
Meanwhile, Sylvain seemed to be making a point to carry Ashe over his shoulders.
The seven of you headed back to the monastery together, Professor Byleth calling off her lessons for the beginning of next week just to make sure everyone was well rested. Annette tried to reason that taking the weekend off would be plenty of time for most of the Blue Lions. After all, you, Dimitri, and Ashe were the only ones that really suffered any fatigue. Your teacher countered that if she were holding class, you three were the most likely suspects to insist on attending regardless, no matter how badly you were injured.
Perhaps you left too good of an impression on the professor today for her to think such things of you. Regardless, you agreed with her, if only to save Annette from the pointed glares of Felix and Sylvain at the idea of rejecting a day out of class.

let the people talk
pairing: dedue molinaro x gn!reader
summary: despite what people think of dedue, you still seek out his company and he can't understand why...
“you really should keep your distance from me.” dedue warned you, as you followed the duscur man with a carefree smile on your lips. “people are going to think we are a couple if you don't stop following me around.”
a little giggle escaped your lips and to dedue's surprise, you grabbed his arm, as you continued to walk beside him.
“i don't mind people believing that.” you hummed playfully, as you looked up at dedue. “i'd be more than happy to have a handsome boyfriend like you!”

Hello I would like to ask could you do a scenario on how Raphael, dedue, and balthus would reassure a insecure s/o .
You didn't specify the insecurity so I kept it as general as I could!
Raphael, Dedue and Balthus reassuring their insecure S/O
Reader here is gender neutral
Raphael
At first he didn't know why you were upset, so he decided to cheer you up in his usual ways.
He was so sweet and caring, like always it made you feel like you didn't deserve it. And seeing your mood getting worse as he tried to help... It was hard to describe how it made him feel.
So he was determined to find a reason why you're recently acting the way you do. And if you're not going to tell him, then he'll ask your friends and if that doesn't work he'd just try to guess it.
The last thing he'd expect was you feeling insecure so his guesses were all far from the truth. So he was incredibly stunned by it.
He couldn't believe that there could be anything about you to dislike. But since you clearly weren't on the same page, he tried to understand why you'd feel that way and of course describe his point of you.
You'd take small steps, but he'd be very stubborn about it. He can't allow for you to feel like you don't deserve the best!
Dedue
He was very observant. So even if you'd try to hide your insecurities he'd just know. Although he would be a little troubled... Since he wouldn't know what to do about it at first.
So he figured the best he could do, is to be blunt. Talking about this kind of an issue is really important, and he'd hate it if he dismissed something like that.
The next opportunity he had he just asked you how did you feel about yourself. His tone was filled with concern and it'd make you feel guilty to lie.
He knows it's not in his power to tell you how to feel, so he just wanted to know how to make it better. He'd do honestly anything to boost your confidence.
He believes in you, but he will let you take your time. He wouldn't shower you with too much compliments to not overwhelm you but he isn't shy to praise you when you achieve something great. That way you can't really say that it was undeserved.
Balthus
Okay, no. He's not letting you say what you want to say to the end note. It's not about not wanting to listen to you but just the first sentence of you thinking you're not good enough was enough for him to listen to.
After all he's not going to let anyone insult his partner, especially if it's you saying all that stuff.
Main difference is that he doesn't knock that out of your head literally. He just makes extra sure to give you all the right attention.
Words of affirmation just won't stop. Whatever you say will be corrected because for someone so smart you have a habit of saying some really dumb things about yourself.
But hey, happens to the best and he's having fun correcting you when it comes to an issue like this. I mean, he's always loud about his feelings for you so having one more excuse to do just that is great actually.
You know that Balthus doesn't set for anything but the best, so why would you question his judgement on you being the top tier catch?

A Taste of Home - F!Reader x Dedue Molinaro
Fire Emblem - Three Houses (Time Skip)
Determined to honor her Duscur roots, Reader enlists Dedue’s help to learn more of the intricate art of Duscur cooking.
✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦
The kitchens of Garreg Mach Monastery were quiet in the early hours, the morning sunlight just beginning to filter through the high windows. [Name] pushed open the door, her boots echoing softly on the stone floor. She paused just inside, the familiar smells of flour, herbs, and roasting meats washing over her.
Near the far counter, Dedue was already hard at work, his broad back turned as he kneaded dough with practiced ease. Despite the tension that clung to Garreg Mach during the war, Dedue carried an air of calm purpose, his movements steady and deliberate.
[Name] lingered for a moment before clearing her throat. Dedue turned, his expression as unreadable as ever.
“[Name],” he greeted with a polite nod. “Is there something you need?”
She swallowed her nerves. “I… need your help. I want to learn to cook. Specifically Duscur dishes.”
Dedue’s hands stilled, his gaze sharpening as he studied her. “Why Duscur?”
She hesitated. “Because… it’s part of who I am. My mother used to make a few Duscur meals when I was a child, but after the tragedy…” She trailed off, shaking her head. “I didn’t keep up with it. And now, I realize how much I’ve lost.”
Dedue was silent for a moment, his eyes thoughtful. Finally, he nodded. “Very well. I will teach you.”
Their first lesson was humbling.
“Duscur cooking values precision,” Dedue explained, his deep voice steady as he handed her a knife. “Each ingredient has its purpose, and every step must be done with care.”
[Name] nodded, gripping the knife as Dedue placed a cutting board in front of her. A pile of onions sat to the side, their sharp scent already making her eyes water.
“Begin by slicing these,” he instructed.
She tried to mimic the clean, even slices Dedue had demonstrated, but her hands were clumsy, the blade awkward in her grip. The onions ended up in uneven chunks, and by the time she finished, her eyes were stinging, and her shoulders ached.
Dedue inspected her work without a word, then picked up a knife of his own. “Watch closely,” he said, demonstrating the proper technique again. His hands moved with practiced ease, the blade gliding through the onion like it was nothing. “You’re using too much force. Let the knife do the work.”
[Name] frowned, adjusting her grip as she tried again. This time, her cuts were smoother, though still far from perfect.
“Better,” Dedue said, his tone approving. “You learn quickly.”
She smiled, feeling a flicker of pride despite the sweat on her brow. “Thanks.”
Over the next few weeks, the lessons became a regular part of [Name]'s routine. Early mornings in the kitchen with Dedue, learning to slice, sauté, and season with the precision and care that Duscur cuisine demanded.
Dedue was a patient teacher, though his standards were high. He rarely offered praise, but when he did, it was sincere and carried weight. [Name] found herself striving to meet his expectations, her determination growing with each lesson.
As they worked, they talked. [Name] shared stories of her mother and childhood. Her mother’s connection to Duscur had been one of quiet pride, passed down in small ways—stories, songs, and the simple meals she cooked on rare occasions.
“I wish I had paid more attention,” [Name] admitted one morning as they prepared a dish of spiced roasted vegetables. “But I was just a kid. I didn’t understand how important it was.”
Dedue nodded, his expression thoughtful. “You understand now. That is what matters.”
In return, Dedue spoke of his own childhood in Duscur, of the flavors and traditions that shaped his early years. His voice carried a quiet reverence when he spoke of his mother’s skill in the kitchen, her ability to turn simple ingredients into something extraordinary.
“She believed that food could bring people together,” he said. “Even in the darkest times.”
The turning point came during a rare celebration at Garreg Mach. The Blue Lions had secured a significant victory, and morale was high. [Name] volunteered to make one of the dishes for the feast—a Duscur spiced stew Dedue had taught her.
As she worked, Dedue hovered nearby, offering the occasional piece of advice but otherwise letting her take the lead. The kitchen bustled with activity, but [Name] tuned it all out, focusing on the simmering pot in front of her.
When the stew was served, the others were curious but hesitant, many of them unfamiliar with Duscur cuisine. But the first hesitant bites quickly turned into eager compliments.
“This is incredible,” Annette said, her eyes wide as she ladled a second helping into her bowl. “[Name], did you really make this?”
[Name] grinned, her cheeks flushing with pride. “I had help.”
She glanced at Dedue, who gave her a small nod, the corners of his mouth lifting in what might have been the faintest smile.
Later that evening, as they cleaned up the kitchen together, [Name] found herself lingering over the last few dishes. The warm glow of the feast still lingered, but there was something else she wanted to say.
“Dedue,” she began, her voice softer than usual. “Thank you. For teaching me.”
He paused, setting down the pot he was scrubbing. “You have worked hard. The success is yours.”
She shook her head. “I couldn’t have done it without you. And… I’ve really enjoyed this. Learning from you.”
Dedue’s gaze met hers, and for a moment, the weight of his usual reserve seemed to lift. “I have enjoyed it as well.”
---
The following weeks passed in a quiet rhythm, with [Name] and Dedue's morning cooking lessons continuing as a constant amidst the chaos of war. Word of their culinary experiments had spread through the monastery, and now it wasn’t uncommon for other Blue Lions—or even members of other houses—to wander into the kitchen, following the scent of roasting spices and rich stews.
Sylvain was the first to make a habit of it.
“Am I smelling something new today?” he asked one morning, leaning casually against the doorframe as [Name] tried not to burn the flatbread she was attempting to flip.
“It’s not ready yet,” Dedue said without looking up from his work. His tone was polite, but there was an unmistakable firmness to it.
“Come on, Dedue, you know I’ll eat anything,” Sylvain teased, though he didn’t push further. Instead, he turned his attention to [Name]. “You’ve been spending a lot of time in here. Dedue teaching you all his secrets?”
[Name] smirked, swiping at a smudge of flour on her cheek. “Not all of them, but enough to keep you out of trouble. If you’re lucky, I might let you try this—when it’s actually done.”
Sylvain’s grin widened, and he gave a mock bow. “I’ll hold you to that.”
By the time the next feast rolled around, [Name] and Dedue were no longer alone in the kitchen. Annette had volunteered to help, her boundless energy making up for her lack of skill with a knife. Felix, surprisingly, had been roped in as well, though his involvement was more begrudging.
“This is ridiculous,” Felix muttered as he peeled a particularly stubborn potato. “Why am I here?”
“Because you’re good with a blade,” [Name] teased. “And Dedue promised not to let you leave until you finished.”
Dedue, standing at the stove, didn’t comment, but there was a faint glimmer of amusement in his eyes.
The camaraderie in the kitchen was infectious, and even Felix couldn’t completely hide his smirk when Annette’s attempts at chopping carrots resulted in pieces flying in every direction.
It was during one of these bustling mornings that Byleth wandered in. The professor’s presence was quieter than the others, but it carried weight. Byleth observed for a while before stepping in to help, her hands deftly rolling dough under Dedue’s instruction.
“Have you been practicing without telling me?” [Name] joked, watching as Byleth’s flatbread came out perfectly shaped.
Byleth’s lips twitched in what might have been a smile. “Maybe.”
The professor’s calm presence had a grounding effect, and soon the kitchen felt more like a gathering of friends than a place of work. Even Sylvain, who usually spent more time flirting than helping, found himself caught up in the flow.
It wasn’t long before the others began to notice the subtle shifts between [Name] and Dedue.
“Are you two always this in sync?” Mercedes asked one evening as she watched them plate a dish together. Her tone was light, but her eyes held a knowing warmth.
[Name] glanced at Dedue, who, as always, seemed unbothered by the observation. “I guess we’ve just gotten used to working together,” she said, though her cheeks warmed under Mercedes’ gaze.
“You make a good team,” Mercedes said with a smile before leaving them to their work.
The comments continued to trickle in, each one playful but laced with curiosity.
“I never thought I’d see the day Dedue willingly let someone else handle his spices,” Felix remarked one afternoon, his arms crossed as he watched [Name] stir a pot under Dedue’s supervision.
“Maybe she’s just that good,” Sylvain chimed in, winking at [Name]. “Or maybe Dedue’s going soft.”
Dedue gave Sylvain a look that silenced him immediately, but [Name] couldn’t help but laugh.
It wasn’t until late one evening, long after the others had left the kitchen, that [Name] found herself alone with Dedue again. They were cleaning up, the quiet hum of the monastery settling around them.
“Does it bother you?” she asked suddenly, setting a clean bowl on the drying rack.
Dedue glanced at her. “What?”
“The others… teasing us. Saying we’re close.”
He considered this for a moment before shaking his head. “No. It is true. We are close.”
[Name]'s heart skipped at the simple honesty of his words. “I’m glad,” she said softly. “I’ve learned a lot from you. Not just about cooking.”
Dedue’s gaze held hers for a long moment, something unspoken passing between them. “And I from you.”
The words were quiet, but they carried a weight that left [Name] smiling long after they had parted for the night. The bond they had forged was unmistakable now, and though neither of them spoke of it openly, the foundation of something deeper was there, steady and unshakable amidst the uncertainty of the war.

Thank so much for the response. May I also request something soft and comforting for Dedue? Yesterday I was separated from my coworkers by another and faced harassment from him about how I am such a bad person etc and I am not doing good atm even though my friends are trying their best to remind me that this dude is a prick (he blew up on me because he has been taking extended breaks and I told my coworkers to do their tasks over his first so his things did not get done as a result). Please take as much time as you need. I just want something to look forward to.
hello dear! i first off would like to apologize for the wait on your request, a lot of it was just me shaking the worms to get the writing juices flowing, and now after the personal war with my writer's block, it is finished (confetti poppers appear) and i hope that guy steps on a lego, i've worked with people like that and genuinely they're awful, i hope that you're doing much better and that you enjoy the fic!
nav.
there be hurt/comfort in this one, annie and mercie being 1000/10 friends
You don’t like to worry Dedue.
Not that you didn’t trust him or anything, nothing like that at all! You just did not want to add onto his responsibilities that he had. Especially not when the man already had enough on his plate as Dimitri’s right hand. The thought of even causing more work for him made you wary.
So you did the only reasonable thing you thought you could do- Keep it all in and pray that the matter would be done with so that way you would not trouble him.
Of course, that was much easier said than done. You had to give Dedue credit, he was a keen observer. Nothing really got past him, which was no wonder why Prince, now King Dimitri had trusted his friend well.
Your hands wiped your eyes frequently, frustration bubbling beneath your skin as your eyes burned with unshed tears. Don’t cry, don’t cry. Don’t allow them to see your frustration. Don’t let them see that their cruel words affected you. You remind yourself as your throat constricts slightly.
Annette and Mercedes’ hands rubbed your back soothingly. Their own comforting words did little to help, but nonetheless, you were grateful. Your breaths come out in shaky pauses, you inhale and then exhale. Cursing yourself, for letting some stranger’s words get to you so strongly.
“Really, it’s not something for you to worry over, that man had no reason to be so crass and rude,” Annette says, indignant on your behalf.
It was a nice banquet, one that not only hoped to boost the morale of the Kingdom by inviting both nobility and commoners, but it’s secondary agenda was to scope out who truly was loyal to the crown and not attempting anything nefarious, it was difficult enough to weed out Empire loyalists in the previous month.
It started with some Duke from the western area of Faerghus, preening to whoever paid him any mind that he deserved to be in the small council room before Dimitri could make his appearance before the people. Only to look like a fool when not only was he barred, but attempting to stop you from going in, when you were literally invited by the King himself.
Where the audacity came from, you were not sure, but overwhelmed from just the number of people attending, to then this stranger getting into your face and proceeding to insult you for something you had no control over (well you did, but you had no reason to help the man into the meeting place now), you quite literally were this close to losing it on the man. Which was where you were grateful for Mercedes’ intervention followed by Annette carefully taking you somewhere more private to calm down. Because you weren’t certain if you were going to punch the man or cry. Or do both.
From her tone as she confronted him, you almost felt bad for him, almost. An angry Mercedes was a scary Mercedes after all.
Annette moves from where she was standing as you all hear a knock on the door, her voice is hushed so you can’t really make out what she’s saying or who she’s talking to. The door shuts gently behind her and Mercedes, who promises to see what’s happening follows a short moment later.. The banquet was still ongoing, but with a slight delay as the king was preoccupied with other matters (You later learn it was because Dimitri had not wanted to walk out without everyone in his retinue, aka his former classmates).
The door opens once more, as you wipe your face with a cool rag to hide your flusteredness.
“Mercie, I’m alright, I’ll be out in a moment,” Comes out slightly muffled as you press the cloth to your cheeks and your forehead.
“I do not wish to leave you alone,” A much deeper voice, one that did not belong to either her nor Annette catches you by surprise.
You look up at him bewildered, wasn’t he with Dimitri?
When you voice this concern, Dedue steps forward, and you see the swishing skirts of your friends behind the door as they send you small smiles and thumbs ups. You can’t help but shake your head.
“I actually told His Highness that I would go search for you three when Sylvain or Felix hadn’t found you all earlier, in fact, he even encouraged me to do so,” As he stepped closer, while you’re preoccupied, he takes in your frazzled appearance, still dressed to the nines for the occasion, but hands slightly shaky, your expression flustered and eyes looking like they held back tears still.
He unfortunately had not been present for the incident, only being filled in by a rather indignant Annette when she had found him during his search. He did not judge her reaction, of course, in the slightest. Dedue was not petty or snappish in any way and much more passive, something that Dimitri had almost always scolded him for since they had attended the Officer’s Academy at Garreg Mach. However something in your expression broke his heart, and in turn, made him angry.
“I’m sorry,” Your quiet words take him away from his reverie, you use the small counter as a makeshift seat, hoisting yourself up to sit on.
Gently, he takes one of your hands in his own, anger quelled, but not forgotten. “You have nothing to apologize for, if anything, that man should be the one apologizing to you for his behavior.” He is quick to insist, to drive away any doubt that you may have had about yourself.
“If you wish, we can return home, His Highness will understand,” Dedue offers quietly, his hand tucking a stray piece of your hair behind your ear,
At this you shake your head, “No, a lot of work went into tonight, and I don’t want to let one person ruin all of it. Dimitri would want to show all of us present to support him. If even one of us isn’t there, I’m sure the nobility will want to talk about it.”
Court politics gave you a headache, and you couldn’t help but pity the friends that had come from noble families (and also feel a bit grateful that your own family was one of merchants, so your encounter with nobility was minimum at best).
While he does appear doubtful, he ultimately does not push you to decide.
“If that is what you wish to do, then I will be amenable to it.”
Your eyes have dried, and you quickly inspect yourself in the small compact that Annette had tucked away (while also excitedly telling you about the pockets of her dress in order to cheer you up) for you.
“Then, yes, we’re staying.”
You get a sense of comfort from his presence. Knowing that not only did you have his support but the support of your friends as well, you walked out with them all with your head raised high, (faking the confidence just a little bit).
When the duke that had previously treated you cruelly saw you, his mouth was left agape. Although, it was your turn to look surprised when you saw Dedue turn up his nose at the man, making his jaw drop further as due to his friend’s actions, Dimitri only would interact with the man for propriety’s sake and propriety’s sake only. Surprise became admiration as you learned another thing, Dedue really could be petty when he wanted to be.

BL: S/O is Insecure
{ Prompt: How does the blue lion house react to a s/o who is anxious about their position? Ex: maybe they are of lesser birth and are anxious about disapproval or disappointment?
Submitted by: @angel6776 }
Note: Annette’s made me cry a little bit.
Dimitri:
There’s an attempt in understanding. I repeat: an attempt.
Dimitri has been a noble since birth. He’s the prince and so he hasn’t personally seen what it’s like to be a commoner. However, he does know what it’s like to be a subject to scrutiny.
The voices His remaining family and counsel are currently in charge of running Fargeus in his stead, yet he is not unaware of the worry amongst the population for when his time to rule comes
He has to live up to his father’s legacy, the people’s expectations...other things he would never voice. It’s a heavy burden, so he is sympathetic to your feelings.
He’s also not good with words, or handling negative emotions in general. I genuinely think his reaction is largely dictated by how open you are about the situation.
On one hand, if it’s brought up in everyday conversation then he would likely offer a few words of advice to boost your moral
However, if it was deep. If you shed tears or laid your feelings bare then he wouldn’t know what to say on the spot.
So he’d say the one thing he wish he could say about himself, but truly felt for you.
“I believe in you”
Dedue:
He cannot understand why you feel anxious
You are of common birth? So are others and yet they are better at their jobs than many of the nobles.
Being Dimitri’s right-hand has let him see first hand what the nobility is capable of. It is not a desirable crowd in the slightest
“You do not belong there” He would state as a compliment, perplexed that you want to fit in with such a group
If you know him well enough to understand the underlying meaning to that, then great. His job is done and he hopes you’ll never be anxious about something like that again
If not, then perhaps he is not the best to seek comfort from. He’d likely go to someone trusted for advice (Likely Ashe or Dimitri) and they would have to explain. He’d then apologize
“I...am sorry. I was insensitive to your feelings and did not intend to hurt you. I simply could not understand why you disliked being different, when that is what makes me attracted to you”
Felix:
and other people’s opinions are important because???
No offense, but you earned your spot fair and square. What’s the opinion of a couple of snot-nosed nobles have to do with it?
Do you have any idea how many times someone has “mistaken,” him for Glenn just to try and compare the two?
He is the king of disappointment and disapproval. His father made it very clear...okay, this isn’t about him.
Anyways
Pardon his language, but Felix couldn’t give a shit what anyone else has to say and neither should you. Do your job, live your life, and stop worrying about superficial things
and if it’s him you’re worried about? Don’t. He’ll take personal offense that you would ever think he’d be disappointed or ashamed to be with you.
“If I didn’t want to be here then I wouldn't be. Start looking at how you got here instead of what other people have to say about it...dummy”
Sylvain:
Well this is unexpected. You’re the last person he would expect to be hearing this from
I mean, have you seen the people surrounding you? They all pale in comparison to your accomplishments. Not everyone can say they made it into Gareg Mache on their own. People like yourself, Annette, Ignatz, etc. should be flaunting that you are commoners in his opinion
Alas, he knows all to well how judgmental the world is. If you stand out or don’t fit in then natural selection takes over.
He just never thought you let it take hold. It takes a strong will to climb up the latter and he was a fool to think your emotions were left undamaged.
Yet what could he offer you? He’s not necessarily the family favorite and hasn’t figured out a way to deal with his own anxiety
Let alone another person’s
He’d likely just wrap an arm around his s/o’s shoulder, and lay things out as he sees them
“This world takes anything it finds unique, and crushes it. I won’t let that happen to you, because I need you as you are more than the world needs you under it’s boot. Alright?”
Ashe:
You are wonderful. Ashe has never thought otherwise. Ever.
He’s on a similar path to yours. He went from being a baker’s son, to a thief, and then to the adopted son of a noble. He’s seen lows that he would wish on no other and is aware of the bad reputation that lingers from it
You are ashamed of being a commoner? You are scared to disappoint everyone? You are afraid of the disapproval from others of your status? He’s felt it all before, and forced those negative thoughts down because if he wasn’t strong then there would be no foothold for his siblings to have a good future
He understands more than anyone else, which is why he notices before you have a chance to bring it up or let it slip. He sees your creased brows when people murmur nearby, your lips shake when speaking, your gaze find the floor when people stare too long...
He watches as the candle in your window burns late into the night, as you force yourself to work beyond what the body can take. All in a desperate attempt to prove your worth
He watches until he can’t anymore, because the pain he feels witnessing it is likely no where near how you feel. The thought breaks him.
“(Y/N), do you think that I drag our house down? Because....well, because I am a commoner?....No? Then why are you killing yourself for the same reason?”
Mercedes:
She is another who is not unfamiliar with disappointment. She lives every day hoping to live up to the expectations of her lost sibling...the one who gave himself for her and her mother’s freedom
If there is anyone blind to status, it is Mercedes. She will love you no matter your background so long as your heart is in the right place
Even then, she has hope for people to turn over a new leaf
Do not say that you are unworthy unless you are prepared for a scolding.
Yet another person who uses tough love. She insists that you look around and see what you have instead of wondering if you deserve it
If you wish to weep or talk things out then she will offer her comfort. This is a personal battle and a pain she cannot heal with magic, but if her presence helps then it is yours
All she can do is remind you of who else is near, and that your presence is just as important as anyone else's
“Your birth does not determine your worth. It is how you use the time given, and how you treat the world around you. I hope that one day you will come to understand this”
Annette:
“Being a commoner isn’t that bad, right? We’re both doing just fine!”
You want to talk moral? Annette is the perfect person
She...has a lot of her own baggage. Deep down she wonders if the reason her father left was because she wasn’t good enough. It may be naïve, but maybe if she works hard enough then he’ll come back? He’ll come back and she’ll be someone he can be proud of.
“You just need a goal! Something to distract you from the meanies tearing you down!” -Is her first suggestion
Yet, it doesn’t go as planned. At some point she begins to tell you about her childhood and why she’s worked so hard to be where she is
and now she’s crying, wiping her tears because this was supposed to be about you not her.
Then she’s hugging you, tightly, and whether you’re crying with her is irrelevant because the mutual understanding of not feeling like your enough is bleeding into the air
“I know I won’t be enough for everyone, but am I enough for you? Because you will always be for me and right now that’s all we need, right?”
Ingrid:
By far the most hopeless out of the blue lions.
Because when she first met you...well, she did think you weren’t good enough. As a student at Garreg Mache, one is expected to be someone with enough potential to make it in the big leagues. As a commoner, you proved yourself simply by gaining entry so this shouldn’t be an issue, right?
Ingrid doesn’t like to acknowledge it, but her own pressure as heir to the Galatea household has bled into how she perceives other people. Simply getting into Garreg Mache isn’t enough to make you a good candidate for important positions
So in the early stages of your relationship, she really did look at you as a commoner playing dress up. Someone who probably wouldn’t last the first few months of school before dropping out...sothis, she was so closed-minded that the moment anyone mentions it she cringes.
To be fair, it wasn’t just you. She thought this about others as well and has said things to her peers that she regrets (A/N: I won’t mention which support, but I’m head-cannoning that she regrets it to save my opinion of her)
When you tell her how you feel she goes quiet. She can’t help but think of how you’ve been suffering, and how she had been one of the people you were afraid of whether you knew it or not
She wouldn’t be able to look you in the eyes, and instead choose to sit in silence. Preferably back-to-back with a hand over yours as a signal it’s okay to talk
She’d clutch your hand tight, only speaking once you have finished. Even then her voice wouldn’t go above a whisper
“I’m sorry”

You came from Adrestian Empire and moved into Blue Lions for the whole year. Everything was wonderful but things turned out for the worst when Edelgard decided to start a war and you have to betray your precious someone from Blue Lions. Going against your homeland was never an option even it hurts your heart so much to fight against your precious someone in Gronder Field. The fond memories made you can’t bring yourself to attack them. How will they react when they have to strike you down by their own hands?
I’m sorry for the amount of pain and hurt that I want to bring upon you. Please kindly skip and refrain from reading this angst train if you aren’t comfortable with violence, death, blood and injury, depression, sadness, guilt, and gore.
Warning: Violence, death, blood and injury, depression, sadness, and guilt.
PAIN AND BETRAYAL
Dimitri
Battlefield rage has turned Dimitri into a feral boar that kills Adrestian soldiers without remorse. To him, they are just another pawns of Edelgard’s atrocious madness that must be slaughtered.
He doesn’t even bat an eye (s-sorry I didn’t mean to make a word pun for you, Dima ;_;) when he saw you amidst the sea of fire. Just a pure rage of anger and hatred. His good eye narrowed as he glowered, “If you stand in my way, I won’t hesitate to strike you down, (Y/N). I won’t stop not until I bring them her head,” his grip tightening on his spear. Despite his warning, you can’t stand back nor bring yourself to hurt him. Sheathing your sword, you tried your best to talk to him. “Dimitri, please listen to me. I just want to…” Your words fell on deaf ears as he was drowned too deep in his anger and despair.
Those peaceful days when you study and training together seems so faraway. The ferocious prince still remember it as clear as a day when you smile so brightly at his birthday gift for you. “Dimitri, I…” you took a deep breath, struggling to hold back your happy tears. “Thank you. I don’t have the words to express how much this means to me. This Blue Lions brooch… you—all of you—mean so much to me. Being a part of Blue Lions family… there is nothing that makes happier. I’d treasure this forever.” He was surprised when you hug him tightly, and reciprocate it gingerly in warm embrace. But those beautiful moments didn’t last forever. The day when you hug him tightly before you have to go back to Adrestia some months before graduation with tearful eyes as you said your goodbye is the day when he fell to despair. How painful it for him to know that you are siding with Edelgard instead of staying by his side.
You can hear Professor shouts in the distance to stop him from harming you. But it was late. Too late. The entire battle was a blurred frenzy. You tried your best to deflect, evade, and parry his ferocious slash and strikes. But you can’t hold a candle against his immense strength. The last thing you could see was Areadbhar slash and pierce at your body violently. And.. his hand crushes on your neck as Dimitri’s Blaiddyd crest flashed before your eyes and a sharp pain turned into black nothingness.
Only when he heard Mercedes, Annette, and Ingrid’s shriek, did he realize: he has slaughtered you mercilessly. “(Y/N) hold onto this brooch tightly. She wanted to go back to our side but we were… too late…..” Professor put some clothes to cover your heavily maimed body with remorse as Sylvain, Dedue, and Ashe trying to gaze away. Felix grunts and nearly puke in disgust at Dimitri’s atrocity.
“I should’ve known… that one day you would haunt me too. I’m so sorry…. (Y/N)….” His hands and armor covered in your crimson blood. If only he believed in you more and listened to Professor… but it was too late.
You have joined the ranks of the dead that will keep on gnawing his guilty conscience. Dimitri wouldn’t be the same afterward. Your smile and lovely voice will haunt his nightmares, driving him to the border of insanity and generally have a much more negative outlook on life.
Sylvain
It was a sickening revelation for Sylvain when he saw you flying on your pegasus at the Gronder Field. He thought you were gone on Garreg Mach’s ambush 5 years ago, but you are siding with the Empire now.
“When our academy days come to an end, would you like to come to my homeland? We have lots of your favorite Gautier cheese there!” You pout at his words and pinch his cheeks hard. “Am I such a glutton? Do you think I would buy that, Syl?” He only chuckles and peck a chaste kiss on your forehead. “I know you will!” You giggled at his words. “It’s a promise, then. Count it as a yes, but… it’s only because I want to see your homeland that you love so much. Sylvain… Do you think we will always be together like this?” you said as you intertwined your fingers with his much bigger ones. “Yes, we will (Y/N). We will. Forever. You have my words.”
He always thought that those promises will come true someday. Sylvain always wish so. But that dream comes to an end when you tried to help Bernadetta from the raging terror of burning fire of Gronder Field and trying to knock out Ashe to protect her from his arrows. It was hard because fire made your pegasus panicked and having to evade flurries of arrows from Ashe is making it much harder. You can’t bear to see poor Bernie is crying her eyes out of sheer terror and trying to do your best to bring her to safety. You have no other choice.
That’s when you saw him. “I’m sorry Syl.. but I can’t fight alongside Blue Lions anymore.” What was he supposed to do? He really doesn’t want to bring you pain but seeing his friend hurts stirred a primal anger within him. Your betrayal reminded him of Miklan’s. As you dive to trying to hit Ashe’s head with your blunt point of your spear, Sylvain throws a huge fireball at you, hoping to stop you from hurting Ashe. But the sudden pain made you lose your focus and fell away with a sickening loud crash on the ground.
His eyes widened as he watched you fall over, your body sprawled on the ground in a horrifying angle. He knew that the two of you were enemies and exposing himself was dangerous, especially on a battlefield but in the moment, all he could think about was you and only you. As he reached you, he gently cradled your head in his hands. “I’m sorry,” he whispered between sobs. If his guesses are correct then your ribs and legs are broken. “Things must be really bad if you’re crying, Syl,” you tried to joke to cheer him up but it only came in a croaked, weak voice. The redhead barely can feel the bile that threatening to come up his throat. “You can’t leave me again, please, (Y/N)…”
You were teetering on the edge of unconsciousness as the numbness was finally settling in. “It was strange. I’ve had this dream that we’ll have lots of lovely children and getting old together. But.. it seems I won’t be able to fulfill that promise… forever… sorry, Syl….” The amount of blood you’ve lost so far is dangerously low. No one could survive from having that much blood. Both of you knew that you don’t have much time left. Laying on your back, you stared up at him, holding his hands for comfort.
“It’s okay. It doesn’t hurt anymore.” Sylvain trying to hold back his tears as he hug your body, feeling your breath getting more shallower and shallower until it stops completely, your body limp in his arms. “I’m so sorry, (Y/N).”
Felix
Felix was livid when he saw you fighting at Edelgard side. Standing in front of him with your sword ready to strike.
How could he forget about you? The new transfer student from Black Eagle class that had his attention from the first time he spar with. Honestly, he was amazed by how fluid your motions were and how you could easily beat him that day. It was another intense private spar with you. And there it was. That. Damned. Sweet. Intoxicating smile that’s dancing on your lips every time he yield. But today will be different. Felix took a deep breath, trying to calm his flurry of emotions. When you smile and hold your hand to help him stand, he pulled you into a warm, passionate kiss. “Felix?! What are y-“ he puts his hands on your mouth and look into your eyes intently. “Look, I will only tell you once, so listen up, alright?” His cheeks were burning red as he hold your hands in crushing grip. “I want to be with you as long as I can… so.. if you don’t mind, may you… be my… “ his voice trailed off into soundless whisper as you hug him and nods happily. Even your relationship has been short, it was beautiful. But you disappeared when the Garreg Mach got attacked, leaving him behind.
Shaking his head, the Mortal Savant tried to push away those memories. His breath caught in his throat when Edelgard command you to attack him. What should he do?
This is it. If you didn’t do it then someone else would have. It’s the time to put an end to all of this madness. He had not come this far just to die from old sentiments. Just think of it like another spar. Testing metal against metal, like back in the old academy days. Felix recites that like a mantra as he strides to fight you. ‘Utter chaos and sea of fire… what a perfect way to end this,’ he scoff bitterly.
“Raise your sword or I will cut you down, (Y/N)!” But you wouldn’t move or even fight back. You can’t bring yourself to fight Edelgard nor attack your precious lover. Standing still, you just close your eyes as Felix rushed you. His sword was thrust deep into your abdomen. You let out a strangled gasp as he pulled his sword out, and you fell to the ground. The stubborn swordsman just stared down at you in disbelief as the realization hit him hard when the blood pool around you. “W-why? You could’ve dodge easily and strike me back! WHY?!”
Slowly, he sunk to the ground with you as he gently turned you over. “I know it’s selfish, but it had to be me, Fe. I just couldn’t watch you hurt,” you said with a pained smile. The sight of your blood-soaked blouse caused him to nearly stop breathing. “No!” he chanted repeatedly. You coughed, feeling globs of blood on the corners of your mouth. This was it. You knew you weren’t making it out alive. The stab wound was way too deep.
You raised a bloody hand to his face, gently caressing it, “Maybe if we weren’t at war… maybe… maybe things would be different…” you said, your voice growing weak. He took your hand in his, holding it gently. “I love you, Felix. With all my heart…..” You smiled to him. That smile. That beautiful, intoxicating smile that will always haunt him like Glenn’s death as he watch light leave your eyes. He held you for a moment longer before setting you down gently, shutting your eyes. You looked so peaceful, as if you were asleep. Felix’s heart felt like it was chained down and he knew the tears would come again. Tears for what he had lost, tears for what he had ruined.
Dedue
You had spend so much time in greenhouse with kind Dedue in your academy days. Tending to flowers or cooking together in monastery’s kitchen after noon classes are like your private, quiet time together. Despite his build he was gentle, and it showed with his actions. Words are rarely shared between you when the gentle giant walk you back to your own quarter every night. His voice was kind and touch light when he hold your hand in his. But that beautiful days has to come to an end when you are forced to leave Blue Lions and sway to Black Eagles against your own will because Hubert has threatened your family.
Hearing that you’re going to fight for Adrestian Empire on the Gronder Field confuses him. He was certain that you are doing that against your will. Maybe you could go back to the Blue Lions if Professor asked you so.
Dedue was crestfallen when he found you aiding Hubert when he attack Dimitri with Dark Spikes T. He can’t let his precious someone bring harms to Dimitri. Trying to pushing away his fond memories of you, he leaps to charge at you. Dedue. Your precious Dedue. You can’t bring yourself to hurt him. Closing your eyes, you put your lance away, standing still and welcoming his axe, much to his surprise.
Before you could do anything, his axe cut into your chest deeply. You coughed, spitting out blood in the process as you barely hear anything else. Eventually you submits to the aching pain as your knees collides against the earth, your strength itching to leave you. “…I’m sorry…Dedue….” You gasped out before falling over and going still.
It was a swift, merciful death. But Dedue never stay the same. When the battle ends, he lifts your body gently and bring you back to the Garreg Mach to bury you. Despite his stoic demeanor, he always mourn for your death in his own way. When anyone try to console him, he just nods and excuse himself quietly to the greenhouse to find his solace.
Dedue spend most of his time in the greenhouse. Tending to your flowers and bring them every morning to your grave is his new habit.

Anonymous asked:
“ Can I request Dagda Fruit Blend with Dedue please? “
fun fact: I have cried real tears over Dedue for many reasons
Dagda Fruit Blend
- Who would be most likely to catch you two together? Where?
the most likely places you would be caught is either the kitchen or the green house
the problem with sneaking around with Dedue is the fact that the man is six foot eight!! So you always have to find somewhere where all 204cm of him is concealed
the person you have to hide from the most is Annette, but normally every time she walks into anywhere, she’s either humming or singing to warn you unknowingly
after a rough day on the battlefield, you and Dedue meet up in your favorite spot, underneath the trees at the back of the greenhouse and lose yourselves in each others presence
but the problem with a rough day on the battlefield is Annette doesn’t feel like singing so she walks in unannounced
the two of you notice her presence but not before your lips stop touching
you see a pair of giant blue eyes in a flash before Annette sprints out of the room
then you and your tall man prepare to tell the whole house because you both know that little red head could not keep a secret to save her life
hope you enjoyed!! <3 request here!!
more of my work like this <3

"How about something warm? It'll help you sleep." For Dedue x Reader please
Soooo.... It’s been a long time hasn’t it? Sorry guys, I just haven’t been motivated to write anything until now. But hopefully this is good, despite being a little out of practice!
"How about something warm? It'll help you sleep." For Dedue x Reader
You rolled around in your bed with no avail of finding any comfort, your eyes not even closed, simply open and wandering around in the darkness. There you laid, thinking back to the battle you had all just returned from; Gronder field. The morale of the troops was currently at an all-time low, after fighting former classmates and losing Rodrigue. People who you formed bonds with over the course of your academy year, people you studied with, shared meals with, made jokes with, they were all on the opposing sides of this war. Cutting them down wasn’t easy. It never is. But that’s the reality of war isn’t it? You don’t get to choose who lives and who dies, it was either you kill or be killed.
As the antagonizing thoughts roamed through your head, you sat up and haphazardly threw some decent clothes on. It was clear that sleep wasn’t going to find you tonight; though, you didn’t doubt that other members of the army were going through the same ordeal as you, some perhaps, having an even more difficult time. They were classmates too, after all. You opened the door, shutting it quietly behind you just in case anyone who was sleeping wasn’t woken up. You looked up at the sky, the clouds were heavy and grey; it was likely going to rain soon. You were originally planning to walk around the monastery, but getting poured on by the sky didn’t appeal to you currently. So you decided to head to the dining hall. Perhaps you’d find someone else there to talk with, and if not you had the option of being comforted by some snacks and drinks.
With your destination in mind, you started making your way there, stopping by the greenhouse as Dedue emerged from the doors.
“Doing gardening this late at night, Dedue? We just got back from battle, you should be resting.” You spoke up, starting a conversation with him as you made your way to him. He nodded in response, acknowledging you before responding with his own words,
“Yes. It seemed like no one else was going to check on the greenhouse so I took it upon myself to ensure that everything is growing well. What brings you here?” He questioned, brushing off you added note of him needing rest.
“I couldn’t sleep. Though, I suppose after a battle like that, it’s not so surprising to hear that, is it? I was planning to go to the dining hall. It looks like it’s going to rain soon, so I was hoping to either keep myself company with someone or with some food, or just…. Something to distract me from my own thoughts right now.” You explained, as you spoke, you wrapped your arms around yourself as an attempt to comfort yourself by holding yourself close. You really did not want to be alone right now, but you also didn’t want to bother anyone else, since you knew everyone was just as burdened as yourself.
“I’ll accompany you to the dining hall.” Dedue spoke, seemingly being able to read your mind; or perhaps it was your body language that conveyed how you felt. Regardless, you were thankful for the offer.
“Are you sure you want to? I would hate to be the one keeping you awake when you’re so busy all the time.” You asked him to ensure that this was something he was doing willingly; not because he felt obligated to do it.
“I do not mind. I may not be the best company, but it’s better than being alone. Let us make our way there, the rain will come down soon.” He looked up at the sky, and you did as well. He was right, the clouds were only getting thicker, and a downpour would start at any moment. You gave the man a small smile, thanking him for his company as the two of you walked together to the dining hall. He opened the door, gesturing for you to enter, and you did so, him following after you. Looking around, the dining hall had a few like-minded people, all spread about, some chatting quietly with others, and some consuming a beverage.
You and Dedue made your way to a table, isolated from everyone else. He sat across from you, as you gently tapped the table with your fingers, drumming them mindlessly. Talking with Dedue wasn’t exactly the easiest task in the world; you liked being around him, and usually it was fun to help him in the greenhouse as you two quietly worked together to care for the flowers, but the man was rather taciturn. Not that it was a bad thing, of course. It made time spent with him peaceful and simple. It was nice being with someone you didn’t feel forced to come up with new topics every time you were with them. You found comfort in merely having him around you, with or without any words. You felt safe around him.
“Should we get something to drink, maybe? Having something to drink might help calm my thoughts down a little. Not to mention, I’m a little thirsty.” You spoke up, breaking the silence between the two of you. He nodded in response, getting up from his spot to get the two of you something to drink.
“How about something warm? It’ll help you sleep.” He asked, making sure you were on board with his suggestion.
“Oh, that would be really helpful, I bet. Tea would probably be good. Your favorite is ginger tea, if I recall correctly. Why don’t we have that?” You suggest, getting up to help him with the task. He stopped you before you could leave the table completely, gesturing for you to sit down again.
“Just wait here, I’ll get it. Try to get comfortable, first.” He suggested as he left momentarily to brew the tea for the two of you. Taking his advice, you plopped yourself down at the table once more. You took a few deep breaths to try and relax yourself. You were still worked up from all that tossing and turning in your bed, and he could tell.
He came back with a tray carrying a teapot and two cups of ginger tea. He carefully set a cup in front of you, and one in front of himself as he set the teapot in the middle. Giving you a gentle warning to be careful, as the tea was hot. Nodding, you blew on the tea a bit before taking a small sip. The strong taste of ginger took over your mouth, but it wasn’t unpleasant. You could taste a hint of lemon and honey in the tea, making the tea a little sweeter and lighter on the tongue.
“It’s wonderful, thank you, Dedue. It seems like anything you do in the kitchen comes out perfectly, whether it’s food or drinks.” You smiled warmly at him as you praised the man for his skills. It may have just been tea this time, but you, as well as everyone else, knew what this man was capable of in the kitchen. He was easily the best chef you’ve ever met.
“You do not need to praise me so highly for tea.” He responded to your praise, brushing it off and rejecting it; he tended to do that, you’ve noticed. You weren’t sure if that was genuinely his mindset, or if people speaking badly about him just because he was a man of Duscur made him reject any form of compliments. The latter of the two saddened you. You hated seeing people judge him just because of where he was from. Those people never bothered to get to know him for who he truly was; A loyal, caring and well-intentioned man who would help anyone in need without hesitation, so long as the person in question did not intend to harm his highness.
“I’d disagree with that. After all, you made the tea so well. Ginger tea isn’t the easiest tea to make, it’s so easy to make the ginger too strong by adding too much or brewing it for too long, or adding too much lemon and making it sour, as well as too much honey to make it far too sweet. You put in the proper proportions of everything, so the ginger flavour is there, but not overwhelmingly so. It feels very soothing, compared to some other cups I’ve had. So I do believe that you’ve earned the praise for it.” You explained to him, a smile gracing your lips once more. You were going to make sure he knew that it was praise well-earned.
His face shifted into something more shocked, he was taken aback. He hadn’t expected you to take your praise further, even going as far as justifying it. His face soon cleared up of all shock, and instead he gave you one of those rare, gentle smiles. You knew it was genuine too, because Dedue doesn’t often smile; even going so far as to tell you that he doesn’t know how.
“I see, if that is how you feel about it, then I’ll accept the praise. I’m glad you like it, I added everything as I thought you’d like it. I figured you’d prefer a lighter flavour profile as compared to a strong one. In addition to that, this should help you sleep better than if it were stronger.” He took a sip of his tea after giving you an explanation for how he decided on the proportions. You nodded in approval, agreeing with what he was saying; it was true, the tea did make you feel more calm.
“The tea helped, certainly. But I think having good company also plays a part in how I feel right now.” One of his eyebrows shot up in curiosity,
“You think I’m good company?” He asked, wanting clarification on what you had just said. A small giggle escaped your lips,
“Of course I do, Dedue. You’re not the most talkative person, of course, but there’s a lot about you that is enjoyable. Being around you makes me feel safe and calm. And I’m not just referring to the battle field, though fighting at your side does make me feel those things as well; But I also feel like there’s a whole lot less pressure around you, because you’ve never judged me for anything. Not for the things I like, the mistakes I make, or anything at all. I feel comfortable around you, and I enjoy spending time with you. I would dare say that gardening with you is one of the few things I look forward to these days.” You voiced out your opinions about him so openly, appreciating his presence. All of it was true, perhaps more true than you thought before. If you really thought about it, then you would realize that Dedue gives you a sense of comfort that no one else you knew could. The time you spent with him was always cherished, and something you looked forward to doing more of. You would have to discuss that with him in the future, you supposed. For now, you would be content with spending time with him like this.
“No one has ever said those things to me before. I… appreciate it. I find spending time with you to be enjoyable as well. I’m glad that you enjoy it as well.” His response was a little timid, as he was feeling bashful. Hearing you say those things about him made him feel good, his heart felt warm.
The two of you stayed there for a while longer, discussing topics ranging to the flowers in the greenhouse to the cooking mishaps the two of you had witnessed. The occasional laugh from you would flow during the conversation, and your earlier thoughts were completely perished by this point. However, with that came a newfound sense of tiredness; you didn’t want to leave since you were enjoying yourself so much, but you needed to sleep if you didn’t want to slack off tomorrow.
“Thanks for keeping me company tonight, Dedue. The two of us are always so busy, so there’s never really a chance for the two of us to spend time like this. I hope that the two of us can spend more time together like this, I really enjoyed myself.” You thanked him for being with you and being able to comfort you at the time when you felt you needed it most.
“I agree, I look forward to spending more time with you like this, when our schedules allow us to do so.” He led you back to your dorm as you opened the door and entered your room, you beamed up at him and nodded eagerly.
“Yes, of course. Well, I’ll see you tomorrow then. Goodnight, Dedue. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart once again.”
“Goodnight, (y/n). Should you ever need me to do this again, don’t feel afraid to come find me. I enjoyed our time together.” With the two of you bidding each other farewell, he left to go to his own dorm room and you closed the door to your room. With a new sense of comfort, you changed back to your pajamas before laying in bed once more, this time, a smile gracing your lips as sleep managed to find you. You would have to have a certain conversation with him about your feelings, but that was a worry for another time.

Maybe Dedue's reaction to the Reader constantly standing up for him and defending him from comments towards Duscur? I love me some soft Dedue-
Sorry this took so long! Ah, Dedue is just the best. He deserves so much love so I'm really glad I got this request.
At first Dedue would ask you to keep your distance and not defend him. He is worried for your own reputation if you associate with him.
You show him time after time that you are not going to stop. He is impressed to see some people who used to give him hell have actually started to back off.
See, Dedue doesn't think anything can change in Fodlan until Dimitri is king. But you would prove to him that some things can be better right now.
He would become a little more open to changing his approach in life, even if just a little, specially if you can inspire other students to support him more vocally too.
He would start to catch feelings for you but, again, would only consider confessing after Dimitri is king, when his duty has been fulfilled and justice for Duscur has been made. He is too afraid to stray from his goal and fail.
Actually, he's too afraid to have loved ones again before he feels safe that he will not lose them, but shh.
You would try to knock some sense into him, but he is too set in his ways. That is... until he almost loses you. When you are hurt in battle or fall gravely ill, he realises he could have been making you happy right here and right now, all this time.
He is ashamed that he had to learn this the hard way, but does not dwell in the mistake and changes his ways quickly, not just towards you but towards Dimitri and the rest of his friends too.
He will always struggle with the issues he does but he would be so, so much happier since he made this decision. You joke that you're "gonna have to nearly die more often if the reward is like this" and he gets legit concerned-mad for several days.
It's fine, tho. You guys have the rest of your lives to figure this one out.

How about Linhardt, Mercedes and Dedeue meeting in the Goddess Tower with their s/o accidentally, but with the same idea - to spent some time in peace and quiet alone, away from the Ball. But in the end they talk, make wishes and dance. Alone. With each other.
Meeting S/O at the Goddess Tower
Fandom: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Character(s): Dedue, Mercedes, Linhardt
Type of Request: Headcanons
Note(s): Here you go!!
Dedue
He had left so he didn't inconvenience people with his presence. It's no secret how most people view those from Duscur. He did not intend to stumble upon you.
"Apologies, I'll leave," he'll tell you when you notice him. You're quick to say he can stay and he debates it for a second but agrees. You two are alone so there shouldn't be rumors spread about you being seen with him.
Dedue isn't one for small talk but he listens. He listens to anything you want to talk about, voicing a few thoughts now and then. It isn't until you suggest making a wish with him that he lets a smile slip through. Mythologies aren't something he's interested in, but he likes the one with the Goddess Tower.
Dancing also isn't something he's good at. His highness had him attend the lessons that he had, but Dedue didn't really dance himself. He still tries with holding you close and letting you lead.
Linhardt
Honestly he just wanted to take a nap. It was all exhausting. But he saw you in the spot he wanted to nap and let out a sigh, letting you know he was there. You don't get time to react before he moves your hands so he can lay his head in your lap.
It's quiet at first before you two do start talking. It's mostly him either complaining about the party or talking about crest research.
Linhardt would go quiet again after a bit and you'd think he finally fell asleep until he speaks up. "We could make a wish for research purposes. See if there's any truth to the legends." rather he was being sincere or sly, who knows.
At the discussion of dancing, he's not a huge fan of the idea. Yes he knows how to dance - he's a noble he had to attend those lessons - but he doesn't like dancing, it's too tiring. But if you really look upset at not having a dance with him then he'll relent.
Mercedes
She was really trying to find Ingrid, who was hiding from her again. Mercedes did need a break and she thought the best way would be to touch up some makeup. That idea left her when she saw you alone at the Goddess Tower.
You get a cheerful, "Hello!" from her as she makes her way over to you, sitting next to you. Having conversation comes easily enough before she's teasing you about waiting for someone to make a wish with.
Mercedes is more than happy to play into the traditions of the Goddess Tower with wishing with you, hoping for happiness in your future and the rest of her house's future.
She would be the one to suggest dancing too. She was upset when she realized that she had to take a break from dancing in the first place, but now she's all relaxed and wants to spend the rest of the night dancing with her beloved S/O.

Dedue, Raphael, and Dimitri’s reactions (separate please)to f!Byleth (their s/o) wanting to name their first son Jeralt?
Reader is female
Reader is Byleth but no specified name
Takes place post-timeskip
CW (CONTENT WARNING): Spoilers for fe3h i guess even when it was blatantly shown in the trailer kekw
Dedue Molinaro
- He remembers how close you were with your father. He hasn't known the man personally but he can tell that your familial bond with him is strong. That's why when you wanted to name your firstborn Jeralt, he felt he had the entire world weigh on his hands.
- He agrees wholeheartedly, saying that it would be an honor to have his son be named after your father. He feels like he can make new beginnings and have the past that held him back break free.
- It's wishful thinking, but maybe he can wish for your next child to be named after one of his relatives... If you were to have more than one child, of course.
Raphael Kirsten
- He knows the pain of losing your parents, that's why he knows how much you felt when Jeralt died. The big man has a big heart for his family and they always take first place in his list of priorities.
- That's why when you wanted to name your firstborn Jeralt he was already ecstatic. He loves the idea! He loves that your father would always be in your heart no matter what, even if you were the Archbishop!
- Like I said, he loves family, especially big ones. So the next time you get pregnant, he wants to name his next kids!
Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd
- He understood the pain of losing a loved one and have the feeling of vengeance creep up like a parasite. He understood that you loved your father dearly, that's why he doesn't want to name your firstborn after him.
- The one person who doesn't want the idea of that. Hates it, in fact. All of that buildup of his ghosts haunting him now you want to name his son after a dead man? He's not sorry but he absolutely refuses it.
- He knows you mean well but he stands his ground that he would rather not have a child named after your father. You two talk it out and agreed that you two should stick to names that don't belong to the dead.

dating dedue & hubert
pairing: dedue molinaro x gn!reader x hubert von vestra
tags: wholesome fluff, protective boyfriends, polyamorous relationship, friendship with edelgard & dimitri, hugs
hubert and dedue have both been retainers for a large part of their lives, so even in their romantic relationship with you, their protective side shows!
it's second nature to them, being protective of the person they care about!
they sometimes butt heads, as hubert has a far more drastic approach to keeping you safe, while dedue prefers less violent methods
yet ultimately, the two men work together quite well! they are not only able to protect you, but also offer you a fulfilling life!
dedue is a great cook and loves to treat you to some healthy and delicious meals, while hubert is more so the type for buying you gifts to spoil you
despite their line of work, they still find enough time to spend with you! not always as a trio, but one of them will always be by your side!
due to your relationship with the two men, you spend more time with dimitri and edelgard as well, as dedue and hubert want you to get along with them
they certainly don't need their approval when it comes to dating you, but they each want dimitri and edelgard to like you, since those two are such large parts of their lives as well!
dedue and hubert aren't the most openly affectionate people, but the two of them give great hugs! especially dedue, who just feels so comfortable to hug. hubert might feel a little cold when you hug, but there's nothing better than having him wrap you up in his cape!

Can I request cuddle headcanons for the Blue Lion males separately with female Byleth?
I already wrote some for Sylvain, even though that was reader insert I don't think much would change with Byleth. So I'm not going to add anything there.
Also I had no idea how to tag it all... Since I know only ship tags with Felix, Sylvain and Dimitri so I'm not tagging them as ships :y
In all cases though: I think we all can agree that Byleth likes to listen to heartbeats
Blue lion Boys cuddle headcanons
Byleth here is female
Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd
He used to be scared of not controlling his strength... But he actually doesn't have any problems being gentle with Byleth.
Just in case though... He tends to be a little spoon when they cuddle. Jokes aside, he actually prefers it that way. It's a very comforting feeling.
He likes to at least take one of her hands "hostage" if their position allows it.
But of course he definitely loves having her in his arms as well. Although at times he'd be anxious if she's comfortable. Then again her some says everything he needs to know.
Dedue Molinaro
He does usually feel the need for cuddles but he certainly is happy to provide them when necessary.
His embrace is warm and safe. It's hard for her not to relax when he's hugging her. Hugs from Dedue are literally the best way to forget all of your day's worries.
As for spooning he has no preferences at all. Whatever would go he'd think on how happy he is to have someone like her in his life.
When he's the big spoon he thinks how although she's strong- he wants to protect her.
When he's the little one he remembers that he can rely on her to be there for him.
I know it's a lot of symbolism for just cuddling but I don't know how else I can describe it.
Felix Hugo Fraldarius
He isn't used to cuddling much. He also doesn't enjoy being still for so long... But with Byleth it's different.
Still at first he was very awkward with it. Both when it came to his desire for cuddles and how he went about asking it.
He doesn't mind being vulnerable with her. Even though he'd rather die than admit it out loud.
So even though he tends to be a big spoon he definitely loves being small one just as much.
He usually holds her tightly. Not in a way that would make her uncomfortable, he does it more in a "I'll never let you go" way.
Ashe Ubert
He usually is the one to initiate things, so whenever Byleth decides to take the lead or ask him if he'd like to cuddle he's pleasantly surprised!
When they lay down together he really likes to play with her hair. He can get a little restless so this is his way to keep his hands busy.
He often feels like he should say something, but quickly finds comfort in the silence.
When it comes to spooning he's usually the big spoon. After all Byleth is always taking the lead in her daily life, so having a break by finding comfort with your lover is a nice change.

Daisies (Dedue x Reader)
You walked into the Garreg Mach Monastery academy greenhouse to spot a familiar, looming figure.
Dedue Molinaro, the only other student who spends as much time here in this greenhouse as you.
You gave him a smile, that was usually your one interaction before you both worked quietly on your gardening areas.
Usually, but today was different.
Something in you had made you decide to talk to him today.
“Hello, Dedue,” you said as you walked over to his area of the garden, “How are you today?”
“I am... well,” he said uneasily, not looking at you, “but, why are you speaking to me? Most people don’t wish to be caught near me.”
“Well, I just wanted to give you some company, besides, we’re the only two students who are here routinely!” You saw that he looked up at you now and you gave him a warm, wide smile.
He gave you a smile that didn’t look entirely comforted, so, you backed off and gave him space.
This was the start of a weird play-by-play you two had.
The next week, he approached you with a greeting, then, after that, you approached him, and it continued like that for a while, until, you’d started conversing while you were gardening.
“So, Dedue, what kind of flowers do you like?” You inquired, your hands working on removing the weeds from the soil beneath you.
He turned to face you, “I am quite fond of flowers that were native to my home, specifically ones that my sister was fond of.”
You nod and expect the conversation to finish there.
“What flowers are you fond of, (Y/N)?”
“Oh, well, I like daisies. Especially yellow daisies.” You smiled, standing up and grabbing a watering can.
“Interesting.” Was all Dedue said and the conversation ended there, you thought that was it and had small mid-work conversations for a while until, after a class, Dedue approached you with a small bouquet of flowers in hand.
Yellow daisies.
“(Y/N), these are for you.” Was all he said, and you smiled.
“Dedue! This is lovely, thank you.” The gesture surprised you but it made you happy all the same.
“And, I was wondering, if you’d like to go out to eat at some point? With me?” There was a small hint of nervousness in his voice, something that was new and caught you off guard.
“I’d love too, Dedue.”
