There are two upcoming netflix's series that seems pretty good, Killer's Paradox (Choi Woo Sik and Son Suk Gu are the leads) coming out next month and Weak Hero Class 2 but it will come out last year i'm afraid. But I NEED MOREEEEEEE.

hi, i want to write about/draw/generally create post-canon content for a character. specifically, a character who survived being lit on fire right before the end of the book (as in, we dont see how the fire effected him in the longterm, as the story is cut off pretty much as soon as it is put out). however, of note is that hes the main antagonist of the story (a spree killer to be specific). ive seen a lot of discussion from burn survivors and other people with fds that you shouldnt be writing evil characters with burn scars or other fds due to the harmful messages that perpetuates, and i want to know if that applies here as well? should i not portray him with scars from the fire, since he is never portrayed with them in the original material? or should i give him scars, as it is the very likely result of him surviving the fire (although not explicitly stated, the way hes described immediately after the fire is put out indicates that he probably has 3rd degree burns over most of his body)? thank you for your time

in this situation you have essentially 4 options;

Don't portray him with the scars. Yes, realistically speaking, he would have scars. Obviously. But 95% of action characters should also have some sort of permanent disability from getting hit on the head over and over, and yet they don't. Characters will get brought back from the dead after getting crushed to pieces and still be able-bodied, I really wouldn't get hanged up on whether an injury's outcome is realistic.

He initially has scars but they heal up. Again, realism doesn't really matter. Just throw some first degrees on him and call it a day.

Give him the scars and have the only burn survivor be the most offensive stereotype that's out there. It is what it is, you can't write your way out of a burned spree killer.

Give him scars and introduce another character who's not a murderer (or other big stereotype). If the character survives his burns, he's visiting a burn unit (burns are a life-threatening injury, he's not going to just go home after this). That's where new burn survivors are stored and 99.9% of them are normal people. I don't know whether you will be adding new characters, but even just adding a regular ass person who happens to be a burn survivor would make it better. If you don't want to add anything then I guess it's more complicated, maybe the (presumably good/less evil?) canon character who lit him on fire/put out the fire also got caught in it and got burnt too?

As you can guess, option three is the worst. If you decide to do that one, I'd consider not acknowledging the character as a burn survivor in the meta context. I wouldn't go anywhere near something tagged as "#burn survivor rep" if I saw a spree killer mention anywhere. It's just not what anyone is looking for when trying to find stuff featuring burn survivors. Spare us.

There's no one good convenient way out of this I think, you have to sacrifice something to make it work - either realism, potential disabled readers, or plan for the story. The advice above is just my take on what you could do here.

Parents murdered infront of him as a small child, raised as an assassin presumably so likely a truly Fd up childhood, his brother is unhinged and keeps causing him problems at every turn, some sort of tragic and traumatizing past relationship (I just finished ep5 so I don’t know if we know what happened yet) and when he finally, finally let’s in the ridiculous man who has both stalked him and worked his way past Fadel’s incredibly high protective walls and let’s himself love again it turns out that man is spying on him for the police and is planning to betray him. And despite that he STILL can’t kill him. On top of all that he’s loving and protective of his brother even if he is gruff about it, he’s polite and kind to everyone who isn’t actively causing him problems or being rude or putting his brother in potential danger, and he only kills horrible people. i don’t think most sefikuras are very toxic. the hate is from LTD debate shippers and some people were fighting after the big sefikura acc on twt was hating on sephgen/ever crisis but as far as i know, this opinion is pretty rare? most of sfkr shippers don’t care about other ships with sephiroth. and most people know the majority sefikuras aren’t shipping child cloud and sephiroth. the hate is just from a loud minority and sefikuras haven’t done much to stir it up.

I 100% agree with you Nonny. I just wanna add my 2-cent on your point. Being a BL shipper doesn't mean you're immune to toxicity in fd interactions, be it from yourself or others.

I think it's a blessing that it's true, most of the SCs will not care about what other shippers say or do, unless sb shit talk Cloud or Sephiroth or slander our hobby in our spaces/tags.

There are a lot of different types of SCs too: strict top/bot; only shippers; SCs who are okay with switch; SCs who multiship... but we rarely see squabbles among us because we know the etiquette. Block and curate the things we don't wanna see.

Altho I ~think~ I have an idea of who you are talking about; I were moots with them on X until recently and decided to unfollow due to miscommunication and different povs; I haven't seen the fighting that came out from their SG hate post. I saw their posts at the time when SG wallpaper was out. For me, I also ship ASGZC so SG is another spice for me. I don't mind seeing it and I appreciate any appreciation it gets.

When I saw them posting hate on SG, I didn't agree with it but decided to not address it in public because I was still moot with them atp and I didn't wanna make a fuss. SG at the end of the day is a rare pair. It's not like SCs are starving for content. I also don't like how rash they were since their hate post can be weaponized by haters to diss on SC and its shippers. But yea such opinion is theirs alone so they're a pretty isolated case. Most I know just wouldn't bat an eye, or the multishippers would love it.

I do understand tho, that some SC antis wanna use SG ship to diss on SC. I saw those accounts I blocked celebrating a more toxic ship than SC then turn around and call SC toxic. It's funny, because if SG is as big as SC, they would probably hate it too. They're hypocrites who don't even contribute to SG ship to begin with, while SC multishippers were ones of the first people to make fanworks for SG in the first place.

As for shipping child Cloud or Sephiroth with the adult version of the other one, I think it's not that big of a deal. Sefikura is a toxic ship and toxic can encompass anything problematic, regardless of them being children or adults. Cloud murdered Sephiroth when he was a minor (under irl western standards, some other countries may differ), but is it more sinful for adult Sephiroth to talk to or interact with minor Cloud? Cloud was a minor but also a trained killer in an army. Then it goes back to the "violence better than sex" debacle. It's ridiculous.

We have to keep in mind that they're not real humans with flesh and blood and feelings. They are products of fiction for our entertainment and not equal to us as living beings. Treating characters like real people, or human children, who can be subjected to real crimes against them is a disservice to real victims out there.

Honestly for as much excitement as I feel around US dance, I’m just feeling depressed after the event bc there are only three spots. Z/K and G/P were truly soooo close in this event for me. I think CPom benefitted greatly from their music choice and intensity of the program. Gosh I wish those three could go to Worlds together. I hope they all will post Olympic season. I’m truly not one to call on C/B to retire. Not today, but generally I think they are top tier performers and that there IS a big gap between them and everyone else (besides Piper and Paul). Sigh. Any ideas on how we can reform three spots 🥲

I would send B/S over Z/K at this point tbh, as I've said I think Zingas still has a long way to go in terms of her basic skills and it's the most apparent during their FDs.

I think there's no reason to be depressed, I think US are lucky to have the dance field they have, Canada for example is feeling way less secure IMO, they have two team that can be top 10 at worlds, US has 4-5 at this point which is way more promising.

I agree though that it was depressing to see C/B today. This FD is really meh for me, and while I feel like their RD is working well to their advantage, the FD is just vanilla and does nothing for them or for us. In a better world a weak skate like they had today but at worlds would cost them a spot on the podium but the top 3 and especially them for the most part are usually scored way too high compared to the good teams.

Dance in general is depressing tbh, after watching them last week I'm kind of bummed by L/L's programs, especially after the killer set they had last season. When the season started I felt like both CPom and L/L had weaker programs compared to last year, but CPom stepped up and played with both their programs and improved them drastically. L/L for whatever reason did the opposite and now both their programs feel like identical copies of their last season's programs, only weaker and less interesting. I hope L/L get a killer set of programs next season, because honestly if they'll debut yet another FD that is super open, have no close hold,s and uses the same patterns and lifts as they did this entire quad, I'm going to be really disappointed.

I rambled a lot, sorry about that. No way to reform the 3 spots thing, we just need the top 3 to be penalized for their mistake in a way that will actually matter for the scores and placements.

Sony PlayStation - Castlevania Chronicle Akumajo Dracula (Castlevania Chronicles)

This game is basically a home console port of the Sharp X68000 entry in the Castlevania series. The plot of Castlevania Chronicle is similar to that of the first Castlevania: at the end of the 17th century, the dreadful vampire Dracula is resurrected after a century of slumber. The people in Transylvania flee in horror, but the brave Simon Belmont takes his Vampire Killer whip and ventures into the ominous castle to put an end to the Lord of Darkness. This is the exact same plot as found in the Sharp X68000 original.

When it comes to graphics, I feel I must be honest. These graphics are fairly average, especially for a game released on a platform supposedly capable of arcade-quality graphics, and in 1993 no less. I would say Simon and other sprites, backgrounds, etc. are probably about the same quality as Castlevania Bloodlines. Not bad, but one must always consider the hardware when reviewing. Many arcade ports were lacking on the X68000, but certainly closer to arcade graphics than this version of Castlevania, which looks like an early Mega Drive effort. Think Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle.

Aside from that rant, the familiar-looking Castlevania stages have all been redone, and look definitely better detail-wise, compared to the FDS and Famicom original that kickstarted the series, so at least we can acknowledge them as upgrades. Simon's sprite is certainly different looking as well and it is nice to see the slight redrawn changes of Dracula, Death, and other famous bosses and enemies. The crystal man in Stage 4 sucks ass though. I don't care for his appearance at all, it seems so out of place!

On the bright side, there are many classic Castlevania tunes redone for this release, which include Bloody Tears, Vampire Killer, and Simon's Theme. Exclusive pieces (due to the stages not being present in the MSX, NES, or myriad other versions of the original Castlevania) include Tower of Dolls and Etude for the Killer, both solid compositions that earn their place among CV music. Lastly, Dracula's boss music, while it can't touch Super Castlevania IV (aka Akumajo Dracula on the Super Famicom), is awesome simply because of its name: You Goddamned Bathead! Classic! The gameplay has several changes from the original versions of Castlevania. Simon can whip diagonally down left or right while jumping. He is also able to slightly correct his jumps in mid-air, saving you some unnecessary deaths. We also have a new subweapon that helps to conquer the notorious difficulty of this remake. This is a laurel/herb and for 10 hearts, you can refill 6 life bars. A very helpful and neat idea, proving that the game is not without rules.

The challenge is merciless; this is the hardest traditional Castlevania there is, mostly due to the huge amount of damage that enemies take off with each hit. In the early stages, it is only 2 or so bars. In the later stages, every single attack does 4 bars, causing Simon to die in only 5 hits. This coupled with the still limited dodging and mobility of Simon makes having the aforementioned laurel seem like a necessity if you want to beat this game without a great deal of frustration. The laurel certainly helped me to do as such.

Now you might say that this was the case in the FDS and Famicom Castlevania too. Still, this is an ultimately harder game because of the new enemies and stages. Many more enemies have projectiles that they use to hit you from far away. The dolls in Area 7 are especially annoying, all this adds up to a deeper and greater challenge. Replay value for this specific game is no more significant than the original. There is the added challenge of new enemies and greater incurred damage for each subsequent playthrough, but that cannot be defined as a true incentive to replay as the stages and bosses are identical. The only real difference is that enemies hit harder and that there are more of them.

In conclusion, Castlevania X68000 was mostly unknown at the time of its release, and in playing this, I'm glad it has received greater availability on the PlayStation. There are minor differences in the PS1 version mostly involving the internal system clock option affecting certain stages and graphics, nothing to really write home about.

I try to look at this remake in the context of a Japan-only release or the 1993 release year, but neither bit of reflection gives this product much reason to exist, especially as a far superior remake of Castlevania had already been made in Akumajo Dracula on the Super Famicom. That remake was on a far superior and more accessible system. Perhaps this X68000 version was nothing more than an attempt to sell the Sharp computer (which was sold at super expensive prices with prices starting from US$3,500 for the base configuration) by putting respected franchises on it, similar to the Mario and Zelda games on the Phillips CDi, and we all know how bad those games turned out. Castlevania X68000 is not as bad as those games, it is at least playable, but it feels like an unclear project. Given the PC's limited user base, who was this game meant to appeal to? It is worth a playthrough on the PlayStation version, but I can't fathom the complete sense that would make a gamer hardcore enough to buy the Sharp PC just to play this fairly mediocre remake of the original Castlevania. The limited new features of this version just don't do enough for me.

However, all this pales in comparison to the fact Konami actually added an Arrange Mode to the PlayStation port. Castlevania Chronicle's arrange mode is all about the little changes that may not be initially apparent. It really feels like it was made for the fans, as these are the groups likely to enjoy the changes the most. These are both obvious with the complete musical overhaul and subtle with the slight graphical changes. I think the best way to express my approval is to say that the Arrange Mode not only makes the Sharp X68000 version better, but it also makes it more acceptable as part of the Castlevania series.

It was too close to him, too close to him, and he didn't want to put anyone else in his life in danger. In fact, he left the FBI entirely. He became a personal trainer, occasionally a consultant for his local police on the side, and tried his best to move on with his life. But then there's killings in his town, killings that are reminiscent of his brother's killer, and he knows he can't be the one to consult, so he has them call the BAU. He just wasn't really expecting Aaron to drag him in on it anyways, or that he'd grow closer to some of the members that he didn't really know during his time there.

And so I decided to draw Jeff from Creepypasta, or even his fanon version. I haven’t figured this out for a long time, because I spent most of my time in this FD because of the cool comics at the time. So I decided to draw one of the favorite characters of many fans. Namely Jeff the killer, well, I tried and tried to convey the atmosphere of a foggy forest. But I rarely draw something like this, so it seems to me that I didn’t get to what I imagined. But it’s okay, next time I’ll succeed, I just need to draw something like this more often, I think)

So I already have some ideas in my head for how OOTF is going to go so here's some songs I plan to use for it and where :] (most of these aren't in order except for the prequel)

So the first 3 are for the vs FD fight at the start of the series. The plan plays before the fight and its basicly where Bam and the Boss are figuring out how they should go about fighting FD without hurting/killing preston in the process, world's end valentine(orchestra) is the bosses theme for the fight, and the attack of the killer queen remix is preston vs fd or Preston's last Stand where he needs to cut the strings of fd attached to him :]

The shara x AOTKQ remix is for the V2 fight (where preston and rosey beat his ass)

The last 2 are both themes for Jiv battles (there's a reason his themes are both Chara related hehe)

The first one is obvious, it's datchias theme and since her theme includes megalo strike back which is Jivs theme, they're fighting Jiv.

The 2 it means everything remixes are themes for Kim which will make more since later
