𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘: even though you and garroth go to the same college, the two of you are sometimes too busy to hang out or meet up. one thing that brings you two back together is your late-night procrastination dates in the college library.

despite having different majors, you managed to catch a class this year with garroth. while high school friendships usually fade with time, you’re glad that yours and garroth’s didn’t. you two weren’t able to talk and hang out every day like when you were teenagers, but every week you both decided on a time and day in the library to study and work together. 

tonight was one of those nights, as the two of you sat across from each other in pleasant silence. it was one of the things you admired about garroth—his ability to be mature and quiet without feeling awkward, unlike other extroverts like him, was commendable.

you tapped on your phone screen, the glass cold from the lack of use over the past hour. your lock screen lights up to reveal the numbers 11:11, and you lean forward, turning it around to show garroth.

“make a wish.”

his lips curl up in amusement as a light huff of air leaves his nose. he leans back in his chair, raising his arms and lacing his hands together behind his head as his eyes close in thought. brown and blonde eyelashes flutter against his cheekbones as he seemingly puts serious consideration into his wish, before he nods and opens his eyes again.

“that seemed like an important wish.” your inquire, voice still hushed.

his eyes narrow as he leans towards you with his elbows on the table, and for a moment your attention is drawn to the small freckle that lies right on the lower lid of his right eye.

“maybe it was,” he whispers back, his voice a deep husk that would’ve physically rattled you had you been any closer. “but i can’t tell you, or it won’t come true.”

“i know that.” you roll your eyes, hoping your cheeks weren’t as red as they felt.

garroth lets out another amused huff of air, this time his lips widening to reveal the perfect set of teeth beneath them. his hands rose up for his chin to rest on, as he tilts his head at you. the dim library lights reflect against his pupils, casting a certain shine that almost made his expression seem softer than usual.

“did you make a wish?”

your eyes widen for a split moment when you realize you had been too busy staring at him to make a wish of your own. the empty twist and growl you feel in your stomach gives you a smooth recovery to your slip-up.

“yeah, i wished for a snack. i’m starving.”

“oh no,” he gasps in faux despair, “now you’ll starve for the rest of the night because you told me.”

“or i’m just too lazy to walk to the vending machine.”

“luckily you have me.” he chuckles. 

your eyebrows pinch together as he leans over, reaching in his bag to pull out a cutie orange.

“my saving grace.” you dramatically bow to him, clasping your hands like a devoted peasant to a generous king.

when you reach out to grab the fruit, however, he pulls it away and leans back in his chair. your lower lip juts out.

“what?”

“do your work,” he whispers, before turning his attention to removing the peel. “i’ll do it.”

you blink at him in confusion, before your eyes trail down to his hands. he ignores your dumbfoundedness, instead carefully beginning to dig his fingers into the peel, avoiding spraying any of the juice onto the table. his nails were short and well-manicured, and you couldn’t help but trail your eyes up to the veins and tendons pulling against his skin as he restrained from using his full strength. and as he begins meticulously removing the extra white strands from each slice he pauses, leaning his head down to catch your gaze.

“surely this isn’t more interesting than getting your work done?” cerulean twinkled against the lights as he gazed up at you through his lashes.

blood rose to your cheeks as your eyes dart back down to your textbook, biting on your lip as you twirl your pencil in your hand.

“i was just thinking,” you mumble.

a deep chuckle leaves garroth’s lips and his head dips into his hand, poorly hiding his amusement with your embarrassment.

“cute.”

his hand comes into your view, presenting the neatly peeled orange right below your nose. his hands practically engulfed yours in size as you scooped the snack from his hands, admiring the perfectly stripped slices.

“…thank you.”

“you’re very welcome.” he smiles, calmly watching as you pop an orange slice in your mouth with a satisfied hum.

“don’t you have a snack for yourself?”

his eyebrow raises. “no. i just gave you it.”

you stop mid-chew, staring at him with round eyes.

“i’m not hungry.” he cuts you off before you can protest, waving his hand before leaning back in his chair and lolling his head back, staring at the white ceiling above you.

only a brief moment passes before his attention lands on you again.

“what are you doing this weekend?” he bites on his lip.

you blink, caught off guard by his sudden question. “um, nothing.”

“wanna go do something?”

“hm? like, just us?”

he nods, a small smile appearing as he continues to worry his bottom lip between his teeth. “we haven’t actually hung out in a while. you, know, without school as an excuse.”

“…yeah, i guess we haven’t,” you trail off, distracted by the expectant glimmer in his eyes. “what do you want to do?”

he freezes, eyes drifting off to the right in thought.

“um… i haven’t thought about it,” he quietly giggles, the noise incredibly…cute considering who it was coming from. “but something fun. whatever you wanna do.”

“okay.”

“okay?”

“yeah, i have something to look forward to now.”

“yeah, ok cool,” he clears his throat, and for a moment you think you see his ears turn red. “are you done with your work for the night?”

you sigh, popping another orange slice in your mouth.

“yup. my brain is fried for the night.”

the two of you back up your things, slinging on your backpack and walking side by side back to the elevator in comfortable silence once again. the library is practically empty at this point, leaving only a few stragglers in the silent building.

“i’ll walk you back.” he says, as the elevator doors close.

“you don’t have to.”

“and yet i do every time.”

you sigh in response, having nothing to refute him with. he had insisted on walking you back anytime you were together and it got dark outside. one time there was a party that you two didn’t even technically go together to, and when you decided to leave early he went out of his way to leave with you to make sure you got home safely.

you’re deep in thought when you look down at your hands to realize you only had one slice left, and you hold it up to your taller blonde friend with an expectant face.

“want the last one?”

“always so sweet,” he tilts his head down at you, smiling warmly before purposefully brushing his shoulder into yours. “no thank you. it’s yours.”

you still insist, lifting the piece up higher to his face. “it’s a tribute as my thanks.”

"your thanks?"

he chuckles as you begin to impatiently wave the fruit near his lips, before leaning down with his torso and taking the slice with his teeth straight from your fingers. despite his previous refusal he still hums in delight as he munches on the citrusy treat. one of his fingers raises to your chin and lightly nudges your head up, thumb brushing your jawline in a fond act of affection.

“thank you, silly girl.”

also side note but now that i’ve aged a couple weeks from posting my face claims, i’ve realized the way i envision mcd and mystreet Garroth is VERY different than i imagine pdh Garroth and i have no clue how that even works out in my head

Aphmau and Aaron from my PDH rewrite (I will be rewriting PDH through MyS, so you’ll probably be getting college and MyS redesigns at some point too!)

I’ve always thought that Garroth and Katelyn would make a great duo (mostly referring to mystreet because in MCD season 3 they’re lowkey frenemies but I’ll talk about that later). They were relatively close in high school. When Katelyn broke up with Jeffery, Garroth was there to comfort her and gave a cupcake. He even did a silly voice as Katelyn said, which is basically the voice he has now. Then he took her to prom. At prom, it’s revealed she broke up with Jeffery, not the other way around. She said he was too nice and Jeffery apologized and Garroth still defended her with “stop being nice to her!!” Like LOL? Simple things like that made me like their dynamic a lot.

Also quick note, I feel like there was some romantic undertones for them in PDH season 1. I personally like them together platonically. However, when Aaron and Garroth go to pick up Aphmau and Katelyn for the prom, they end up blushing seeing them in their prom dresses. For Garroth, you could say that he was also admiring Aphmau cuz he had a crush on her but it’s evident that he thought Katelyn was pretty. I also find it interesting how him and Jeffery are kind of similar. Not only do they have the same voice actor, but Jeffery is like Garroth if he was more mature and thoughtful in my opinion.

Then they had that whole friendly rivalry in PDH season 2. However, during one of the episodes, Teony asks Katelyn if her and Garroth are still fighting, and she says yes, and that he’s been acting weird “ever since he got his new girlfriend” (aka Ivy). I don’t know if this was ever expanded upon later in the series but I would say it definitely affected their friendship. I know from PDH season 1 that Katelyn wasn’t the fondest of Ivy because of her behavior (I think it’s cuz she acted kind of obsessive and desperate about Garroth I’m not too sure). And Ivy got jealous of Aphmau being around Garroth, so I think a possibility was that Ivy didn’t want Garroth hanging around other girls while they were dating. And maybe she knew about him taking Katelyn to prom the year prior so she saw her as a threat (this also goes back to Garroth admiring Katelyn etc etc). Again, just a theory. I wished that part was explained more.

EDIT: omg so actually I just remembered Garroth was faking having a girlfriend until Ivy suggested he just date her instead, so he could have been acting weird prior to Ivy dating him cuz he was still faking so idk. Maybe Katelyn thought he was acting suspicious. I had originally put Ivy because the Katelyn and Teony moment happens either the episode after Ivy and him start dating or the same episode, sorry yall

In FCU, they reconnect though. What I find interesting is that in their first interaction, it’s mentioned they haven’t seen each other in awhile. Now this could mean different things. Awhile could refer to summer break because at this point they’re sophomores in college. It could also refer to a year. What I mean is that maybe they drifted apart near the end of high school (still friends just not as close) and didn’t interact much freshman year of college. I think this option better explains why Garroth never met Luka (Katelyn’s then girlfriend) before. I don’t know how long they’ve been dating for but it had to be atleast maybe a year or so since they were at Aphmau’s high school graduation and Aphmau is already very familiar with Luka.

After that, they interact, but I feel like it’s not in the same way it was in high school. Of course they’re still in the same friend group but their relationship is less personal. The mystreet friend group has sub friend groups and duos. For example, Katelyn, Kawaii-Chan, and Aphmau are a sub friend group. Dante, Laurance, Garroth, and Travis are a sub friend group. Aaron and Lucinda are a duo like how Travis and Dante are too. Same goes for Garroth and Laurance, and Katelyn and Kawaii-Chan. I could go on and on but you get the picture. So basically what I’m saying here is they’re still friends but have built closer connections to different people over the years.

You could kind of say their friendship happened due to close proximity or have mutual friends. Like in high school, you make friends in the same classes as you or hang around the same people and then when you graduate, y’all might drift apart because you’re far apart or wanting to meet new people. I think that’s exactly what happened to them and the effects still linger in their modern day dynamic. I haven’t rewatched the seasons recently cuz frankly they’re long as hell but from memory they just interact less.

In season 6, however, they bond over fighting the demon warlock and having both been brainwashed. I find this part really interesting because it felt like they obviously have shared traits (this is present in MCD too). They’re both strong (I think it’s mentioned they’re the most physically strong ones in the group due to the forever potions correct me if I’m wrong). Like this setup duo was not a coincidence. Also their parents (Garte and Elizabeth) worked together with those potions (idk the full lore ngl lol). So there’s this like underlying/subconscious bond between them.

I hope in season 7, we see them build back up their relationship with each other. I like them a lot. I feel like they both have issues with anger as well with Katelyn have strong emotions while Garroth has issues with jealousy (he admits it himself in season 3). Both of them have reacted to situations with violence (Katelyn has many instances, for Garroth I’m referring to him in FCU punching a guy into a tree because he was harassing aphmau). Katelyn actually defends him when her, Luka, and Aphmau are discussing it. Luka says that he used too much force but Katelyn says “some people need a good hit to get the message.” So in a way they think in similar ways. In FCU, Luka repeatedly scolds or rather discourages Katelyn’s anger and preference for violence. For Garroth, that person is Aphmau. He tries to teach her self defense but Aphmau says “I don’t think violence is the answer.”

I feel like we had gotten more interactions with them, they would encourage or bring out each other’s anger. I don’t think it would be intentionally but it would still happen.

This is how I see it going based on moments in mystreet. In Mystreet Season 2 (from what I’ve watched I didn’t finish it so take it with a grain of salt), Garroth is typically a bystander to Katelyn’s anger. In one scene, she confronts Travis about not telling her about the Nicole and Dante and Garroth doesn’t say anything until Travis says he didn’t have Katelyn in mind. He was like “Travis you’ve done messed up” in a joking manner.

I feel like Katelyn would also be a bystander to Garroth’s anger or antics really. Like she would get annoyed and express it but not to a point where it would discourage it.

I will admit thought, and I hope I’m making sense, that these reactions are probably because those emotions are not directed at each other. Because Katelyn was mad at Travis, it really didn’t involve Garroth. And since Garroth’s emotions (including jealousy) were typically towards Aphmau and Aaron in season 1, Katelyn wasn’t really involved just an observer. I think this could also connect back to them drifting apart as friends. They don’t have enough interactions for them to harbor these feelings toward each other, thus making themselves bystanders in each other’s personal drama.

This is really long but I also just thought of how they don’t harbor these feelings of anger or rivalry to each other anymore because the last time it happened (referring back to high school) they had some kind of falling out. In some parts of season 3 (or the side stories after it I think?) like that neighborhood watch episode where they have to save Katelyn cuz KC and Damian are making out downstairs, her and Garroth are talking, and Katelyn asks him why he’s wearing a cop uniform. She says it in this soft joking manner that I thought was really cute and I feel like it shows her thinking Garroth is silly. Garroth then like calls them hags 😭 and Aphmau throws something at him and Katelyn was like nice shot! It’s all in good fun so you can kind of see that previous relationship popping up every now and again. If yall know more moments like that between them show me pls! I do remember them like chilling on a couch together in season two episode one, they drive me crazy.

And lastly, another quick note, in MCD season 3, they end up fighting because Garroth’s distrust of Liochant because he’s from Tula. I remember a post mentioning that Garroth and Katelyn were too much alike and they needed someone kinda laidback for a duo to work. Like how MCD season one it was Aphmau, Garroth, and Laurance. They worked well together and season 2 was Katelyn instead of Garroth. But because it’s Garroth and Katelyn now, they’re too similar and clash with one another. It’s interesting how their MCD counterparts differ from their mystreet parts but in a way still have similarities, like both have a kind of rivalry at one point. (Obviously MCD being more intense)

I think there’s so much more I wanna say. Maybe in another post. This isn’t proofread either so sorry for mistakes. I headcanon them as really good friends. I also actually kind of headcanon Katelyn as having BPD and Garroth with Bipolar Disorder. I think it fits as they have similarities and BPD and Bipolar can be misdiagnosed with one another due to similar symptoms and behaviors (I would have to research more obviously but this is a really good post about Katelyn have BPD: https://www.tumblr.com/my-coven-is-claudia/705550091046518784/katelyn-has-bpd-analysis)

I have a vague plan for how I'd like this series to go and if that works out, it will be followed up with PDH, FCU, and Mystreet sequels, just like the actual series (though probably not written in that order cause my attention span would kill me)

An MCD Garroth x Reader series

"Legendary" prologue

"You have got to be joking..." The heart wrenching emptiness of the snack bag in your hands was more annoying than problematic, seeing as you were only about twenty minutes from town. The all too familiar urge to reach into the supplies you'd gathered over your journey crept in, but as always, the thought of seeing Garroth's face light up when you brought back the various supplies you found on your journeys was enough to keep your hands on Delphi's reins instead searching through the wagon she was pulling.

Oh, how you missed seeing that dorky helmet and hearing his unsure attempts at cracking jokes everyday... how you missed him, your best friend who always greeted you with a smile you didn't need to see to know was there, who lets you travel around to "help the village with supplies" when you both know that the only useful things you really bring back are food and new contacts (after all who doesn't need a good "I know a guy" friend) but the villagers loved getting to purchase fun new trinkets every time you came back and Garroth knew it kept you from getting too restless, so he gave you his blessing to essentially become the town wander, but you preferred the term "casual diplomatic relations coordinator/goodies gatherer"

Seeing Zenix again was also near and dear to your heart. He could be a major prick, but he was your brother after all...in heart anyway, which was enough for the two of you. You fought more often than not but you both had a soft spot for each other and were the closest thing to family that you both had.

Of course, your friendships with the other villagers were deeply cherished but it was hard to not have a special bond with the two of them. Garroth has a knack for finding people stranded in the woods, he brought you back to town only a week before finding Zenix who was only a kid at the time, and without any memories of your life before he found you wandering alone, it was easy to grow attached to the first two people who really made a difference in your life.

"Garroth! She's back!!" You perked up and slid off Delphi's back as you saw Zenix approaching

You threw your arms around him and laughed at the embrace that finally meant you were back home. "Brother, I missed you! Are you well? How is everyone?"

Zenix was interrupted by the all too familiar voice of your dearest friend who was always more relived by your safe return every time. "You're safe, welcome back" He took Delphi's reins from your hands and began to lead the small group back to town as you clamored on about your journey and why it took so much longer this time, how many people you met, how much you missed home, on and on and on.

Rolling his eyes was Zenix's only facial expression but his inability to stop asking questions was enough to keep you rattling on until all the villagers came and went with their fair share of useless trinkets and food for the week. When they were all done and gone Zenix left with the last two bags of supplies to take back for the guards. Garroth who had been silent the entire time, took hold of the empty cart and followed you back to the stable by your house with Delphi.

"I'm glad you're back, I almost sent raven out to look for you" you chuckle lightly at his concern and pray the torches aren't bright enough to show the blush that creeps onto your face.

"It was only a day long delay, Garroth" he sets down the wagon and turns away a bit, but his face remains pointed towards you as you tilt your head looking for a response.

Fully turning back to you he begins to inspect the details on his gloves, a painfully obvious que that he's flustered himself again. "I'm aware, it's just...it's dangerous out there, and you know we're vulnerable right now without a lord. I just don't want to see you get hurt."

Garroth is a caring person, you know this firsthand, but even still his heart and kindness manage to melt you every single time you speak to him. It's like he was born to be a beacon of hope, and his protectiveness is bound so deeply in his nature you can't help but want to protect him for a change. You don't know every detail of his past, but given yours is not available to you, it's a privilege he was willing to share with you all he did.

You didn't realize you were placing your hand on his arm until his head snapped up to meet your gaze, the slight glimpse of blue through his helm was enough to make you lose your train of thought for a moment. Though he didn't pull away, the feeling of his muscles tensing in your hold was enough for you to bring your hand back to you. "Thank you, Garroth. For always caring so much...for everyone."

A slight chuckle echoed from his mouth; you almost missed it. "You do not need to thank me for doing my job"

The grin that crept onto your face was almost involuntary, but moments like this were important to you. Making sure people knew the difference they could make, the good they would do was important to you, even though you knew Garroth would never fully believe you.

"It's not just your job Garroth, it's you. We both know that. You've changed so many lives and you keep so many people safe, it may not always work out but that's not nothing. Don't ever forget that, please"

Your heart fluttered at the all too familiar smile you heard in his thanks, how he's managed to keep the sight of it hidden all these years was a mystery to you, but it was none of your business, you only hoped silently that one day he'd trust you enough-

His hand began to flex towards yours and your heart skipped in your chest...before he brought it up to scratch his neck instead. Clearing your throat, you began to turn away from him. "I should really get to bed. Rest up from the long journey"

Garroth nodded. "Of course, I should be going. Long day tomorrow." You took a few steps back and he began to head back down the road before turning for a moment more "It's good to have you back. Goodnight" You smiled back, a little to dazed to truly recall your reply.

Your loving bed was unfortunately not enough to keep your thoughts from drifting back to the man who always seemed to keep them occupied. Looks like you won't not be getting much sleep tonight...

I do wanna share my thoughts and feelings about Falcon Claw University so I will

Once again the season ends with unfinished subplots. I don’t remember anyone actually telling Aaron about the notes Cathy was sending around, but also the rumors about Aph never got resolved and Diana and Ken sort of faded from the story entirely. There’s also KC, Zane, Katelyn, and Luka who just weren’t important at the end and didn’t really have anything to say or do, same with Terra

There were several characters from Aphmau’s orientation week that never came back. At all. Kind of disappointing 🤷‍♀️

However, I will say that Cathy’s crazy yandere nonsense was a lot more apparent once Jenny told her she was dating Aaron. She was a lot angrier and tense about it and she sent more notes to Aph. However, it’s still poorly foreshadowed in the first half of the season anyway

Cathy represents what Jenny and Diana could have turned into if they went off the deep end, and I like that her snapping is what brought Jenny to realize that she liked the idea of Aaron and not Aaron himself. I wish Diana was here to have an arc but I guess they forgot about her :/

Garroth and Mack also got good arcs this season. Garroth understood Aphmau’s rejection but his character was still a little shallow enough to lead into Season 1’s craziness. Actually, S1 is a character regression for him, which is interesting

But Aphmau’s advice to Mack actually helped him get closer to Jenny at the end. I hope they are happy together :3 if they end up together anyway

Nekoette and Juno were adorable subplots and I’m happy they existed, but they also weren’t important in the slightest lol

Again, Derek is an absolute moron for telling Xavier about the Ultima Secret. That is literally your family curse that will instill fear and panic on the world if it gets out, and you told a random agent about it???? WITHOUT doing a background check to see that he was on the Ultima Conspiracy Forums??????? Smh Derek this is part of the reason Aaron left

Speaking of Aaron leaving though I like how Aph’s words made him realize that he doesn’t have to be a prisoner in his own room anymore. He realized that if his dad is gonna threaten to cut him off then he might as well, and so he dropped out of school, moved away, got a job, and was doing well on his own for a while. But he still wore the bandana, because he knows his own strength, unlike Garroth who broke his first door this season hahah

The subplot of Garroth’s strength increasing didn’t go anywhere but at least it’s good foreshadowing

Anyway, I love that Aaron’s apartment at the end of FCU is the same (or at least similar) one from the side stories that predate Season 1. Everything came full circle and the prequels are finally caught up. I still don’t know how he was able to cut himself entirely off from his family to the point where they couldn’t find him anymore if he was constantly being followed years prior, but whatever it’s good for his mental health so I’ll let the arc be

I just rewatched FCU and had so much fun. I think it’s one of the most slept on series/seasons that Jess made.

I like the drama and tension with Aphmau and the rumors, Aaron trying to escape his abusive/overbearing father, the whole love drama in general is interesting and decently handled. I love how we get more insight into Aaron’s background and personality as a whole. Poor boy is so repressed the whole season and just an awkward social wreck.

The new characters and dynamics are so fun too!! I like Terra(idk how to spell her name) Diana, Ken, Jenny, Betty, and Cathy. I like Garroth’s lingering crush on Aphmau and him struggling to control his super strength. Also, Zane and Nana working as baristas together is such a cute detail/plot line I love it.

The only thing is I wish we got a bit more insight into Aphmau, Cathy, and especially Jenny. Cathy’s whole yandere thing didn’t really work that well for me. Also, I feel like the story vilified Jenny a bit too much? Sure, she didn’t really know Aaron too well as a person, and was trying to ignore how the “relationship” wasn’t working out. But like, sometimes you just have crushes on people without super specific reasons. Besides, Aaron did say yes to her asking him out, and didn’t have the guts to break things off until much later. I also don’t like how her jealousy gets played off as being toxic, of course she wants to spend more time with him after establishing their relationship. Anyways I just really see myself in her so maybe I’m projecting too hard hahaha

the worst thing i ever heard while watching some old livestreams is jess apparently went through the pdh s2 finale irl in high school where 'she went through a ton of drama and just cut everybody off' and now i have like a sour taste on pdh2 forever because that whole "what do u like about me" arc was NASTTYYY TOXICCCC

Guys I am such a pdh + fcu hater. It genuinely fills me with rage like. As a concept. Particularly pdh, fcu would have been fine without pdh. I do not like high school aus and I additionally hate no one making any goddamn friends after high school.

guys to me Garroth is actually gigantic (especially in mcd and mystreet, not so much pdh or fcu). like 6’4-5” gigantic. big burly man. absolutely huge. his Jury form in mcd makes him 6’8”

Laurance is six feet tops. if even that. he’s probably a little shorter. and he’s also kind of lanky. like. sleeper build i feel like idk. his Shadow Knight form makes him a little bulkier and 7’ and he brags about being taller than Garroth in that form

Dante is 5’9 1/2” and he makes sure you add that half inch. he pretends to be the tallest because six foot is “the woman’s ideal man” but anyone with eyes can see he’s like three inches below that. he used to get sad that he didn’t have an alternate form that changed his height but then he handed Garroth and Laurance’s asses to them during that spar in mcd season 2

Travis is 5’10” and he lies about being six foot. often. he got the short end of the stick because unfortunately his demon form only makes him like two inches taller while it made the Demon Warlock almost a foot taller. he joked one time that that’s the reason he doesn’t like that form

Katelyn is six foot on the dot in all universes. she uses herself as a measurement when guys tell her they’re six foot. she takes great pride in being tall. she’s actually taller than Laurance by just a smidge and that fact destroys him.

Aphmau (named Adelaide in my mcd rewrite) is 5’5”. she’s average height but next to all of her tall ass guards and friends she still looks short as hell.

Zane is also tall. not as tall as Garroth but he’s like 6’1-2”. he has minor scoliosis though (only in pdh/mystreet) so it makes him look a tad shorter. in mcd he absolutely wore shoes with thick soles to make himself seem taller and more intimidating. his robes covered his shoes though so nobody knew.

Vylad however is only 5’8” (the tall gene came from Garte). he’s the shortest of the trio and that’s another big reason why people don’t typically assume he’s the third Ro’Meave brother, since being unreasonably tall is an iconic gene for the Ro’Meave family. in mcd it’s another thing that makes him self conscious about being an affair baby and in mystreet it gives him more reason to distance himself from his family (that’s a whole spiel i’ll go on it later)

Lucinda is 5’7”. she’s very curvy and seems like she wouldn’t be very strong but she can lift a little more than her own weight. she used to glamour herself to make herself seem a little shorter because she didn’t like being above average height

Nicole is 5’3”. she’s also very light. she taught herself martial arts in modern universes because she didn’t want to get kidnapped. the same could be said for mcd but she probably didn’t start doing that until she and Garroth got engaged

Nana is 5’4”. she’s from Tu’la and people, especially meif’wa, are typically shorter there. if she were in Tu’la she would actually be considered on the slightly taller side. she isn’t very strong but her magicks allows her to basically become a necromancer if she’s desperate enough (she never has been)

Aaron is 5’11” but so many people think he’s six feet. like he’ll say 5’11” and people say “no you look six feet” and then he says six feet and people are like “no not quite” so he uses them interchangeably. unfortunately Katelyn is not the accurate form of measurement for him because some days he’s as tall as her and others he’s slightly shorter (and he’s wearing the exact same outfit)

OH I HAVE SO MANY. thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk about them i love these goobers so much.

aphmau: 4'11. she has curly dark brown hair that she dyes black and cuts up to her shoulders post emerald secret. she gets a nostril piercing into adulthood. she has a collection of earrings as well, all super whacky (do NOT let her into the jewelry section at hot topic) that she switches out all the time :D she has a bunch of moles/beauty marks, specifically on her face (cheeks n' nose)

aaron: 6'0. he has dark brown hair and darkish gray eyes. he used to get into scuffles with the other kids growing up, so he's usually covered in bandages. he has his lobes pierced (mostly for aphmau) and they both get matching jewelry all the time !! a few scars on his face and his arms + legs from adolescence.

nana: 6'2. her hair is naturally black (her ears are also black), she dyes her hair pink because it's is her favourite colour and also she wants to look different compared to her multiple siblings (i hc her to have a twin brother named daiki hehe). she puts star stickers on her cheeks, usually rotating through colours. it depends on her outfit for the day. her makeup is super flashy (kinda euphoria-inspired shiny makeup) and she also does katelyn's (and sometimes aphmau)'s makeup! she also makes her own earrings and wears them all of the time.

katelyn: 5'6. her hair is much lighter that she dyes darker. her knuckles are constantly covered in bruises due to boxing, which is a massive coping mechanism. she got braces at the beginning of mystreet s1, usually coloured blue ! she has a sleeve of tattoos and a fire fist on her shoulder blade. and she has freckles

garroth: 5'11. he has incredibly distinct smile lines, light freckles, and dimples. he gets a matching eyebrow piercing with laurance and he has a bit of scruff on his chin/jaw. he has curly hair that he stopped maintaining some time after he graduated fcu. he has a birth mark on his chest , reminiscent of when zenix shot him in the chest in diaries.

zane: 5'7 (but usually is taller bc he wears platforms). his ears are DECKED OUT in piercings. he also has snake bites and a tongue piercing. also pin straight hair that always looks greasy. also acne scars from picking at his face so much. he refuses to leave the house without black eyeliner

laurance: 5'9. he has a crooked nose from constantly breaking it as a kid via skateboarding (he got yelled at by cadenza a LOT). has some burn scars on his hands from when he went to culinary school. cadenza dyed his hair ginger in pdh so they could "look more similar" , nowadays he keeps a strand of ginger hair for cadenza. instead of blue eyes (bc there are TOO MANY CHARACTERS WITH BLUE EYES) i gave him hazel brownish eyes :D. he also has a tooth gap

these are only a handful and are totally up for change (and slightly outdated since i haven't touched these since last summer) !! i plan on drawing them soon as well :3

Anyway yea I love ivymau, it's such a fun dynamic to think about lol.

And I love the idea of a camp Councillor AU with them as rivals that kiss each other sometimes.

Like they literally have camp lore that if your put into their groups get ready for a summer of hurt because they are so competitive with each other that it ends up reflecting on their camp kids.

Some of the other characters would be their fellow camp councillors such as Garroth, Teony, Sasha, Blaze, and Katelyn, maybe a few more.

At night they'd sneak off together to make out, they'd probably get caught a bunch by the others, mostly Teony.

I'd say this would be in-between PDH and FCU.

The portrayal of homeschooling in Aphmau's PDH. Reviewed by, a shut in homeschooled teen girl.

Aphmau

PDH!APH IS LEGIT ONE OF THE BEST PORTRAYALS OF HOMESCHOOLING I'VE SEEN.

like she doesn't fall into the 'I was homeschooled, so I'm good at everything' or the 'social freako who was locked inside their house for a reason' stereotypes. She's a normal somewhat awkward, occasionally cringe, teen girl.

Speaking of cringe, I find most (not all) cringe moments very very relatable to irl experiences I've had. Especially the way you don't necessarily realize how words sound when they first come out. (Yes this is about the 'let's make a new one!' Babysitting scene.)

And the whole 'she finds nearly everyone she meets somewhat cute' thing (Katelyn, garroth, laurance, Aaron etc) is the most accurate thing ever, like for non-homeschooled shut ins, imagine how whenever there's a new kid at school and everyone suddenly has a crush on them, but everyone is the new kid to you.

The whole back and fourth she had with Teony on how homeschooling isn't that fun and all she did was play video games? Amazingly accurate to every conversation I've ever had about homeschooling.

Another quick tid bit is that I enjoy the habit Aph has of talking to herself, because sometimes when you have nobody to talk to, you start talking to yourself, but when you do have people to talk to again, the habit of talking to the invisible person doesn't disappear.

I find that Jess having been homeschooled for a year herself due to 9/11, makes her writing and handling of PDH!APH hit home for me.

Aaron.

^ the social freako who was locked in their house for a reason, and I was homeschooled so I'm good at everything. While he is technically a stereotype, he isn't technically homeschooled, he just went to military school.

BUUUTT, he is a good example on how sometimes when you grow up isolated, you stay isolated.

While I relate to Aph more nowadays, what's implied to be how Aaron was pre-senior year does remind me loads of the person I used to be. All lonely and off in a corner.

He really does highlight how some people get their daily social interaction by being aggressive to others. It's harsh, but it's true.

I enjoy how in FCU he is seen actively *trying* to make friends, his struggles are eerily realistic that I quite enjoy. I also like how he portrays how sometimes socially isolated people can be jerks, just like how they can be not jerks.

Conclusions.

Both Aaron and Aph can be seen as two of many ways people can take loneliness. 'Accepting' the loneliness and shutting out any chances of social interaction, and trying to cope with the loneliness by pretending everything is smooth sailing. sometimes you're even a strange hybrid of the two. Moral is, severe isolation sucks.

Anyways this is also one of those times where writing for your and your spouses kinda self inserts come really in handy! Like I said in Aph's final tidbit, Jess' writing really shines whenever she writes stuff she knows.

As an ending bit and a slight disclaimer, this is mainly from my experience of being homeschooled for the past nine years, other people might have different experiences.

I am an avid hater of PDH and FCU. It's not personal, I just hate high school aus. None of these will ever be canon to me

I dislike the decision to turn Mystreet into a serious lore-heavy series (and I really think Jesson shot themselves in the foot with this choice)

Mystreet season 1 had the best characterizations of Aaron and Aphmau. This is the only time Aarmau is good

Cadenza and Nicole deserved better (they are done dirtier than Laurance and Dante sore-y)
