Literally no one cares about my opinion but I'm still going to give it either way, because I can >:) Anddd because I have no one to share my thoughts with :'D Essentially screaming into the void. 

The visible animation change in LMK is what got everyone riled up in the first place, which is understandable. It was just so sudden and out of nowhere, we only had a mild warning beforehand because of some people investigating rumors that had started spreading last year apparently.

I'm not mad at Wild brain, I'm more so annoyed (?) that they had to begin at such a heavy season, potentially the heaviest season. The animation was a HUGE selling point and draw for the show, now it hasn't been getting the same hype as before :/ I'm extremely grateful Wildbrain was available and willing to take on Season 5, but guys it is a significant downgrade compared to its predecessor. Yet they are trying their best and new, so they deserve all the kudos possible 👏🏻 I'm still going to watch it and y'all should too in order to support the show :)👍🏻 because dropping it after coming this far is honestly really stupid. Also, don't blame the new studio or team. Ultimately LEGO is responsible, as they have the money to have hired a studio capable of 2D, frame-by-frame animation. But didn't since they don't care much and cuz they’re cheap. They sell toys, not TV shows after all.

Side note: I keep seeing people claim that the new team has been harassed since the news, including receiving death threats, but there's no proof of that actually happening. This seems to merely be a rumor that everyone has been running with spreading as truth. Which sucks because for those of us voicing our concerns and complaints (respectfully) are now being bombarded by some with “you should be thankful” to “you are ungrateful”. At least that’s what I’ve seen on my end online.

Anyhow, I want to end this by thanking Flying Bark for the past outstanding 4 Years! We are all so extremely lucky to have had such high-quality content, and grateful for your service. Thank you so much FBP you’ll be missed 🥹❤️ Now let's support the new Wildbrain team and look forward to whatever S5 will be! 🙌🏻

Reflection On Past Projects

Finn's Bad Parkour Simulator: This project was my first ever in any engine, and was my first experience using Unreal. Looking back on the project I spent a lot of time on in-game assets, which is a weak part of mine. In the future with other projects I focused less on assets and more on developing, which was much better long-term for the development of my game. FBPS ended up becoming a half-decent platformer although the code was a mess. I learnt the process of making games and the experience of using Unreal Engine in 2D. My biggest regret with this project was making assets first, as I utterly hate making assets and it's a large weak point of my skillset, I ended up wasting a lot of time on assets and some of them were not even used.

Deadline Dash: I put a lot more time into developing mechanics in Deadline Dash than I did in FBPS, which helped me deal with debugging in things such as my wall running or game start system. As Deadline Dash was a 3D game, I had my first experience with Greyboxing to design basic levels. My biggest regret in creating Deadline Dash was making no assets at all for the game, relying on just text and widgets, because of this the game had much less personality than FBPS and I ended up disliking my end result more. In the future I think I'll save 1-2 weeks for the end of the project to make or find assets that I can use to fit the games theme, instead of making assets first and then possibly not using them.

Rapid Rift Showdown: This was my favorite project to date. Although I only made development textures, Rapid Rift Showdown had it's own personality within the menus and how to play screens, and if I had more time this could've been implemented into the game. RRS was my attempt at making dynamic systems that would be interchangeable with each other through levels and gamemodes that could mix and match. This ended up working perfectly, although I only had 4 gamemodes and 2 levels, more could be added with ease by the system I built with Enumerators. In this project my biggest regret was again with assets, as I relied on development textures and ended up having no time to create proper assets or animations. Conclusion: My main strength in all of these projects was building mechanics that could be expanded on at a later date, and I want to continue this into my FMP. I want to focus on creating both interesting and fun mechanics that players will enjoy using, while making these mechanics fit the overall theme and story of a game. I plan on focusing mostly on this, as my main weakness is as an asset designer. Although I know what I want I can never seem to take it out of my mind and into a way to use in development, so I may use AI to assist me with asset creation, or premade assets from places like Quixel Bridge.

Criticle Role a Dungeons and Dragons podcast gets two seasons for their animated show, which is coming to Amazon Prime. The animation studio behind the series will be Titmouse. The Critical Role crew launched a kickstarter for a single 22 minute episode. They ended up making 11.3 million dollars to get a 10 episode season. Amazon seeing this ordered 14 more episodes afterwards. This must be one of the most if not the most successful kickstarters to date. The general plot is that the adventure gang from Critical Role team up to go on an adventure to save their kingdom. There is no set date as to when the series will premiere. So it might be a good idea to keep an eye on Titmouse’s website to see if they are hiring.

Oxygen-15 labeled CO 2 , O 2 , and CO PET in small animals: evaluation using a 3D-mode microPET scanner and impact of reconstruction algorithms

Abstract

Background

Positron emission tomography (PET) studies using 15O-labeled CO2, O2, and CO have been used in humans to evaluate cerebral blood flow (CBF), the cerebral oxygen extraction fraction (OEF), and the cerebral metabolic rate of oxygen (CMRO2) and cerebral blood volume (CBV), respectively. In preclinical studies, however, PET studies using 15O-labeled gases are not widely performed because of the technical difficulties associated with handling labeled gases with a short half-life. The aims of the present study were to evaluate the scatter fraction using 3D-mode micro-PET for 15O-labeled gas studies and the influence of reconstruction algorithms on quantitative values.

Nine male SD rats were studied using the steady state inhalation method for 15O-labeled gases with arterial blood sampling. The resulting PET images were reconstructed using filtered back projection (FBP), ordered-subset expectation maximization (OSEM) 2D, or OSEM 3D followed by maximum a posteriori (OSEM3D-MAP). The quantitative values for each brain region and each reconstruction method were calculated by applying different reconstruction methods.

Results

The quantitative values for the whole brain as calculated using FBP were 46.6 ± 12.5 mL/100 mL/min (CBF), 63.7 ± 7.2% (OEF), 5.72 ± 0.34 mL/100 mL/min (CMRO2), and 5.66 ± 0.34 mL/100 mL (CBV), respectively. The CBF and CMRO2 values were significantly higher when the OSEM2D and OSEM3D-MAP reconstruction methods were used, compared with FBP, whereas the OEF values were significantly lower when reconstructed using OSEM3D-MAP.

Conclusions

We evaluated the difference in quantitative values among the reconstruction algorithms using 3D-mode micro-PET. The iterative reconstruction method resulted in significantly higher quantitative values for CBF and CMRO2, compared with the values calculated using the FBP reconstruction method.
