you scream and struggle against your binds, your eyes wild and fearful. your captor had left a couple hours ago to go get something from the nearest market, and in the snezhnayan snow that always took time — coupled with how he seemed so sickly sweet and desperate for your adoration even though he’d fucking kidnapped you, you wouldn’t be surprised if he was picking out things he thought you’d like and stuff to make you your favorite dinners and snacks.

with a gasp, one of your wrists jolts forward, the rooe he’d wrapped painfully tight finally loose. your wrists were bloody and painful, but all of it was worth it when you finally got that hand free. you did bother looking at the damage you’d done to yourself, instead moving to pull and tug at the rope binding the other. it takes some time, another half hour of frustration maybe, but finally it comes loose — and you’re free.

pushing yourself to your feet, you scramble towards the door, making as quick work of the nine locks on it as you can; it was lucky that he’d left doubles of some of the keys lying around. the rest of the locks you beat off with an iron skillet, taking pleasure in the way they thunked against the carpeted floor. one by one, the four locks you couldn’t find keys to are broken, and then you’re throwing the skilket away and turning the doorknob—

the door bursts open before you can pull on it, and you fall back to the floor from the force of it. there, in the doorway, stands your captor… and he does not look pleased.

“running away, are we?” he asks, a fake smile on his face and murder in his eyes. he casts the bags of groceries to the side, and your eyes watch as a small wooden basket of strawberries falls from the paper bag and tips on its side, the fruit rolling across the floor. those aren’t even in season, how did he get them? you think for a moment before you realize the paychopath in the doorway has moved. your eyes widen as you catch said movement from the corner of your eye, and you scream before flinging yourself in the direction that you’d tossed the skillet, your nails sratching against the csrpeted floor. you’re screaming the entire time, even more so when he straddles your back, but by then you’ e got your hand around the handle of the skillet and you’re swinging it—

it hits him, and he lets out a surprised shout of pain before wrestling it from your hands and casting it away. he grips you tightly, painfully, by your shoulders and geabs a fistful of your hair before dragging you to a random door. he opens it and pushes you inside, and you tumble down the short series of stairs with a shrilk shriek falling from your lips. you’d curled up in a ball before hitting the ground, cradling your head, but it still knocked the wind from you.

from above you, you hear your captor talking. “i love you, sweetheart, but this behavior is a no-no. i tried being nice, and you hit me? yeah, i think this calls for a time out.” once his words register, your eyes widen and you spring out of the fetal position, clawing your way up the stairs, shrieking for him to wait — but he’s closing the door already, and it clicks shut as you reach it. you turn the doorknob, but it refuses to move more than a teensy bit.

locked.

“let me out, you fucking bastard!” you sob, pulling at the handle uselessly, and you hear him sigh.

“i’ll let you out once you’ve learned your lesson, baby,” he says, “i promise — and maybe then, you’ll even use my name like i use yours; ajax is such a good name, you know, and i’d love to hear you use it.”
