A young Eda and Raine (with a very reluctant Lilith) once spied on him to see what he did outside of the school day and discovered he was the bass in a Boiling Isles choir. Despite the juiciness of this secret, the trio decided to keep this under wraps (read: Faust threatened them).

How did Bump's job interview with Faust go? Did the piano playing save what was a below-average interview?

OWL HOUSE FACT #55: Wow, a lot of people wanna hear about Bump’s background! Didn’t know he had such a fanbase…

BUMP’S INTERVIEW: Well, let’s consider two things here. Young Bump was an awkward man, without a doubt. You see it in Them’s the Breaks, Kid. In contrast, Faust is, well… very stubborn. The principal equivalent to sandpaper. He wants tough people like him on his staff. It also didn’t help that Bump didn’t get too upset that the waitress slightly messed up his order; this was part of Faust’s process - he would bring the staff to a public restaurant to see how they would handle things.

So you could imagine the interview is not going very well. Bump has the qualifications, but he hasn’t sold Faust on himself yet, and Faust’s interest was clearly waning. It was only then did something bad happen - the piano player stepped on the wrong pedal and the piano bit his hand.

“No!” someone cried out across the room, “The atmosphere is terrible for my business proposal!”

The chef bolted into the room to inspect what had happened, and sure enough this piano player could no longer play that evening.

“Is there a piano player in the house tonight?” the chef cried, knowing that said proposal was going to make big money for the person dining and himself.

Bump awkwardly raised his hand, not entirely focused on the situation. Soon enough, though, he found himself at the piano. He took a deep breath.

The piano made a melody not heard at such a level of excellence before. Bump had picked what he believed wasn’t a hard piece, sure, but who isn’t impressed by a decent piano player after all? But most importantly, it convinced Faust that this young witch could handle a situation, and it was this that solidified Bump in the position.

The way you draw Reigen is phenomenal, tell me your favorite thing abt him if you want

THANK YOU SO MUCH?????? I've kinda been back-n-forth on loving/ hating how I draw him for the past month-ish, so it makes me super happy to hear someone likes how I draw him. :'D

I think my favorite thing about Reigen is... a mix of things if I'm being honest. Also I really don't wanna spoiler tag so here's a quick "I am going to mention stuff that happens within the Reigen Manga so those who don't want spoilers should probably not read this".

I like that he's Just A Guy despite the company he keeps. While I will read "AU where Reigen is an esper" stories for the hell of it, I don't think I'll ever be super big on it myself bc it just defeats the purpose of the original story for me. It would just be giving him an out to one of his biggest lies and like. He shouldn't be rewarded by the universe for that. I love this guy but giving him an out on that front is not appealing. Maybe if it happens AFTER he's dropped that lie I could enjoy it more but like, if it's done as a pre-confession arc thing or even while he's still lying to Serizawa about it, I don't think that's a good route to go with him. Sorry I went off abt the AU instead of the canon for a moment ig I don't have the words to explain why him being Just A Guy is appealing to me, but hopefully explaining why I'm not big on making him an esper sheds some light on it?

I also like, appreciate how he cares for others. He knows the kids are Just Kids despite their powers and doesn't want them (especially Shigeo) to have to deal with half the shit they end up needing to deal with. If he had realized sooner all of what Shigeo had been bottling up, he'd probably have dropped his façade sooner. Btw that whole scene in the finale [*chefs kiss] also like everyone else I wish he hugged Shigeo but alas, that's why we have fanart. Also I constantly rotate how he just, took the spirit from Tome in the manga. Of course he had a plan to deal with it, but had that not worked out I don't think he'd have been upset dying to save her. Another instance of, "this is just a fucking kid, she shouldn't be dealing with this shit." Also obligatory fuck you Roshuto. OH WHILE I'M HERE others have brought this up but him first worrying about Serizawa before himself in the OVA. Sits on the floor and sobs. I become more of an ekuserirei guy every day.

Also I just. Like him. I wont him (complicated). Bows before walking into the abyss.

Anyway, I really enjoyed For the Future but I am now in Spain without the S. I can't believe this journey ends in April! It's been a long ride, and I'm glad to be a part of this fandom! I'm just glad the ride isn't over yet!😊
