OWL HOUSE FACT #105: As human culture occasionally seeped into the Isles a young Faust came across the Christopher Marlowe play about a man - named Faust - who sells his soul to the devil. Our Faust was not impressed, and (although he never showed it) worried it would lead to people making fun of him. This was squashed when he became the principal of Hexside, and the play was promptly banned despite it not being known to the general public.

# Post-TOH Things

Long post ahead and some spoilers !

Just finished TOH today and not over it. I'm in my denial and lies down and try not to cry phase

Lots of feelings I have yet to even process, but what I can say coherently are the following:

Queer representation along with found family, non-traditional family, old people romance (esp this, more rant on this later), neurodivergent-coded characters, diverse characters, single parents, adoptive families, actually supportive parents, and an environment of support and love in one show?? I had no idea what a ride The Owl House was going to be. Heck I am even healing (in a way) with all that tropes mentioned

Old queer people !!! Like fuck yeah we need more of that. Adult queer people getting old and being themselves is just *chef's kiss*. It's good to see adult queers living their lives, which tbf, was something past-me thought was possible. Also old queer people romance (with lots of angst like Raeda) - exquisite. Gotta love the depth of that lore

Lilith Clawthorne - eldest daughter trauma and how the family dynamics formed and influenced her. Like girl became an overachieving, people-pleasing nerd who craved validation and attention. I would have wanted more of that explored and contrasted with Eda

A young Eda and Raine (with a very reluctant Lilith) once spied on him to see what he did outside of the school day and discovered he was the bass in a Boiling Isles choir. Despite the juiciness of this secret, the trio decided to keep this under wraps (read: Faust threatened them).

The way you draw Reigen is phenomenal, tell me your favorite thing abt him if you want

THANK YOU SO MUCH?????? I've kinda been back-n-forth on loving/ hating how I draw him for the past month-ish, so it makes me super happy to hear someone likes how I draw him. :'D

I think my favorite thing about Reigen is... a mix of things if I'm being honest. Also I really don't wanna spoiler tag so here's a quick "I am going to mention stuff that happens within the Reigen Manga so those who don't want spoilers should probably not read this".

I like that he's Just A Guy despite the company he keeps. While I will read "AU where Reigen is an esper" stories for the hell of it, I don't think I'll ever be super big on it myself bc it just defeats the purpose of the original story for me. It would just be giving him an out to one of his biggest lies and like. He shouldn't be rewarded by the universe for that. I love this guy but giving him an out on that front is not appealing. Maybe if it happens AFTER he's dropped that lie I could enjoy it more but like, if it's done as a pre-confession arc thing or even while he's still lying to Serizawa about it, I don't think that's a good route to go with him. Sorry I went off abt the AU instead of the canon for a moment ig I don't have the words to explain why him being Just A Guy is appealing to me, but hopefully explaining why I'm not big on making him an esper sheds some light on it?

I also like, appreciate how he cares for others. He knows the kids are Just Kids despite their powers and doesn't want them (especially Shigeo) to have to deal with half the shit they end up needing to deal with. If he had realized sooner all of what Shigeo had been bottling up, he'd probably have dropped his façade sooner. Btw that whole scene in the finale [*chefs kiss] also like everyone else I wish he hugged Shigeo but alas, that's why we have fanart. Also I constantly rotate how he just, took the spirit from Tome in the manga. Of course he had a plan to deal with it, but had that not worked out I don't think he'd have been upset dying to save her. Another instance of, "this is just a fucking kid, she shouldn't be dealing with this shit." Also obligatory fuck you Roshuto. OH WHILE I'M HERE others have brought this up but him first worrying about Serizawa before himself in the OVA. Sits on the floor and sobs. I become more of an ekuserirei guy every day.

Also I just. Like him. I wont him (complicated). Bows before walking into the abyss.

Anyway, I really enjoyed For the Future but I am now in Spain without the S. I can't believe this journey ends in April! It's been a long ride, and I'm glad to be a part of this fandom! I'm just glad the ride isn't over yet!😊
