[OC X CANON CONTENT]
✩ Messages from the Stars ✩
Lancer-Class Servant: Space Juquia arrived in search for the original Tristan (accompanied by her Trischins, a species she created during the process to create her own Tristan and find the Original one)!
Tumblr media
Art by @glacescup
Juquia is a rather weak Servant in terms of combat, but a very strong Support Unit, especially for Tristan (she turns him into a 6* wwww) - When she once encountered Danger, a certain Archer Servant saved her. Since that she became kind of obsessed with this one, that is Tristan! She is Lancer Class in hopes Tristan would be weak to her; it’s likely to assume she used to have a different class before. Juquia qualifies as Lancer with the replication of Tristan’s vacuum arrows she shoots like small daggers and her sending the Trischins to stab people. As you can see, she represents my Fangirl Side that goes absolutely head over heels for Tristan! But Space Juquia is even stronger in that by changing her hair colour to match Tristan’s and covering herself in Tristan related accessories. The Trischin's think they are the real deal even tho they are aware Juquia is searching for another one. So yes they are full dedicated and loving towards her, absolutely loyal and would do everything to see her happy. Space Juquia has also more ties with Space Bartholomew.

Summer 9 line-up is revealed, with Classes this time (mostly). They are:
Ciel, aka Mystery Agent C.I.E.L (5 star, Moon Cancer)
Dobrynya Nikitich (4 star, Lancer)
Xu Fu (4 star, Avenger)
BB Dubai (most likely Kazuradrop in disguise) (5 star, Moon Cancer)
Tenochtitlan (4 star, Moon Cancer)
Mystery Heroine XX Alter (4 star, Foreigner)
Also, this event will be technically two months long, since it's going to be combined with OC3, a limited chapter (again?!) written by Nasu. It'll be released in three parts like Avalon, and most likely focused on the Moon Cancer Class. It'll also give out a Servant (most likely the Summer Welfare) once completed, and will be moved to Main Interlude at a later point. It's also been stated that there'll be other events going on during this time period (most likely evocation festival/interlude drops/some other campaigns).

So... Lostbelt 6 part 2 is out and it's great! I haven't finished it yet but uh... I gotta address something. And it's this scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Good scene, right? Beautiful CG, some insight into the way Castoria thinks... but there's something wrong with this scene.
It's translated wrong.
Now if you're like me and you've been keeping up with fan translations for FGO, you may have realized this already, but this translation fundamentally misses the entire point of the scene.
This is what Castoria is supposed to be saying:
I don't want to see her. I don't want to be shown her. She's too much. I don't want to believe it. I don't want to acknowledge it.
After all.
She has no equal. Takes no refuge. No one who understands her. None who can comfort her.
She receives no reward. No goals. No rest. She cannot afford failure, not even a single mistake.
Ah—from the bottom of my heart, I think: "no."
Just how cruel must it be for everyone to smile and acknowledge a king like that?
Do you see the difference? This is a defining scene concerning Castoria's character. Something that sets her apart from every other iteration of Artoria that we've known so far (barring the Servantverse ones). Castoria sees the way of life that her PHH self chose and is repulsed. She can't stand to think about it. At first it seems like she's just buckling under the weight of those expectations, but in reality, Castoria just can't stand to see her.
She can't stand to see this other version of herself willingly throw away her humanity for the sake of an ideal. To give up her own happiness, to give up any chance of ever being understood, all to become a perfect king who the people will love and praise, but never truly understand.
It is a lonely existence, and like a certain redhead in Fate/Stay Night, she can't accept it. Who could bear to live like that? Who would want to live like that? Castoria wants nothing more than to be happy. She wants to make friends her age, eat sweets with them, go shopping with them and walk down the street while holding their hands. She wants to LIVE, and the thought of giving all of that up for the sake of everybody but yourself...
Noble? Sure. But it's mostly just tragic.
That's what this scene is about. Establishing exactly how Castoria feels about her Proper Human History self. She doesn't admire her, if anything it HURTS to see her, to know what she went through, to know what she did.
So WHY was it translated like this?
I'm the only one of my kind. I have nowhere to run. No one understands me. Romance is out of the question.
There's no reward. No finish line. no rest. I can't make so much as a single mistake.
Ahh... So many things I'll never have.
How cruel would I have to be for everyone to accept a king like me with a smile?
Listen, Castoria thinking of her own struggles in parallel to Saber's is interesting, and it isn't NOT there... but that isn't the point of the scene, and foregrounding it like this is uh...
It sure is a decision, that's for sure.
It's not necessarily bad, but it just doesn't fit due to the obvious reason that this isn't what the scene is supposed to be. This scene isn't Castoria seeing a vision of Saber and going "wow, how am I going to live up to this?" as if Saber's story is aspirational.
No. It's a tragedy, and what Castoria is actually thinking is "that's cruel and fucked up"
Anyways I just felt like putting this out there... and before anybody jumps down my throat about how the fan-translation could've been wrong... I did bring this up with a friend who can read Japanese and went to read the node in Japanese. While you could argue that because Caster and Artoria are acknowledged to be different versions of the same person, that Caster is using "I" to refer to the other, but the last line is just outright wrong. The scene is fundamentally about the cruelty of everyone around Saber placing an impossible burden on her, and how Castoria feels seeing that.

Thoughts on servantverse eresh being the anniversary servant? A lot of people on here seem to be pretty mad
I'll be real with you, the tumblr fate fandom gets annoyed at literally everything and anything in this 9 year old gacha game. I just enjoy things at this point, the game is going to end eventually. The title of anniversary or new years servant has always been such an artificial thing to get mad at to me honestly. At this point in the games lifecycle it's impossible to release something that will satisfy everyone. We could get a battlesuit latex Musashi as a servant and people would still find a way to be angry. Summer Eresh (and summer passionlip T-T) has been a meme ever since summer Ishtar's release and I'm glad she's finally got in beast, servantverse, or not.
At this point in the game for me every new character is icing on a cake and I don't want to say don't think, consume content, and move on but I'm not too compelled to care or argue about it (unless they release a 3v3 marvel vs. capcom style fighting game, then character inclusions will matter to me)

Fate and Phantasms #308: Mysterious Idol X (Alter)
Tumblr media
today on Fate and Phantasms we’re putting together the hottest idol act this side of the apocalypse, Mysterious Idol X (Alter)! let’s see, she’s got to be good enough with an instrument to wow a crowd, have supereffective attacks against robots, and pull a giant glowing sword out of nowhere to end fights. yeah, that’s a Glamour Bard alright. but just to spice things up, we’ll still give her some Psi Warrior Fighter levels to keep things star-warsy.
check out her build breakdown below the cut, or her character sheet over here!
next up: who’s a good girl? who’s a good girl? who’s a good beast of calamity? it’s you! yes, it’s you! aboojiboojiboo!
Race and Background
it’s been a while since MHX Alter, and I’m pretty sure we went with custom lineage for servantverse servants once or twice, but it’s easier to just stick with Variant Human and call it a day. that gives you +1 Dexterity and Charisma, proficiency in Acrobatics for more involved dance routines, and the Mobile feat for ten feet of movement each turn plus the ability to ignore triggering reaction attacks after you attack someone first. long before any idol goes on stage, you have to put in time for your footwork.
you’re still a Far Traveler though, so you get Insight and Perception proficiency.
Ability Scores
now that you’re hopped up on idolium, your Charisma is through the roof! you’re still from a science fiction-based universe, so your Intelligence is still a lot higher than most people’s. your Dexterity too, since you need to be acrobatic for some of your dance routines. all this does mean your Constitution has taken a serious hit since last time, though you’re still with a positive modifier. the same can’t be said for your Strength though, since this time you mostly deal damage through rocking out. and of course, we’re dumping Wisdom. you were a berserker, and you’re now a foreigner. neither of those classes are great when it comes to sanity.
Class Levels
1. Fighter 1: yes, most of your levels are in bard, but we need to get some physical training in before we start performing, which is why your Fighting Style is the Superior Technique, Evasive Footwork. with this, you can add a d6 to your AC once per short rest when you start to move, ending when you stop. dance fucker dance, they never had a chance. to hit you.
you also learn how to catch a Second Wind as a bonus action for some quick self-healing.
finally, you’re proficient in Strength and Constitution saves, as well as Athletics and Intimidation checks. have you seen how nervous those nerds get at meet n greets? this is why.
2. Fighter 2: sometimes you need to play an encore, and for those times you need an Action Surge to keep your turn going for an extra action. you can do this once per short rest as well.
3. Bard 1: okay, that’s enough training, it’s time for the big leagues! just being a bard gives you proficiency with Performance, because… duh. you can also use Bardic Inspiration Charisma Modifier times per short rest, giving an ally a d6 they can use on any attack roll, save, or ability check in the next minute.
on top of that, you can cast spells! using your charisma! and your spell slots! spells like, dancing lights to dance with lights, and friends to enrapture the crowd for a couple seconds. you can also disguise self for some quick costume changes, faerie fire to light up the stage and make other attacks more accurate, and of course thunderwave to blast enemies with the power… of MUSIC!
4. bard 2: second level bards are jacks of all trades, giving you at least half proficiency on all ability checks. you can also sing a song of rest as part of your short rest, adding another d6 to your party’s healing if they use hit dice! and we finally don’t have to reflavor this one.
you also get Magical Inspiration, so your bandmates can add your inspiration dice to their magical damage or healing as well! now that’s some king singing!
speaking of healing, we might as well have some for ourselves, right? grab Healing Word so we can heal and still leave our action open.
5. Bard 3: honestly MIX(A) is so plain vanilla bard you could probably make her without a subclass at all. but we still need one, and if you’re going to be an idol the college of Glamour is just a no-brainer. with her Mantle of Inspiration, you can spend a bonus action and one inspiration use to suit up for a show. you can pick up to Charisma Modifier creatures, giving them temporary HP and they can use their reaction to move without provoking opportunity attacks. idols have to be good at weaving through crowds, and it’s just not a show without the whole crew!
once you’re on stage, you can put on an Enthralling Performance. if you sing for a minute, you can choose Charisma Modifier creatures that have to make a wisdom save or they become charmed for 1 hour. while charmed, they idolize you, but they won’t commit violence on your behalf if they weren’t already inclined to do so. they won’t notice anything if they succeed on the save, and you can do this once per short rest.
you’ll get a lot more chances to perform when people find out about your Expertise in performance and acrobatics, doubling your proficiency bonus with those checks.
you can also Shatter robots now. we’re still like, a month and a half out from your event so I don’t know why that’s important, but boy howdy you don’t like robots, and this spell gives them disadvantage on their save against getting blown up by your speakers.
6. Bard 4: use your first Ability Score Improvement to bump up your Charisma for stronger spells and more inspiration. speaking of spells, Minor Illusion will add some flair to your show, and Kinetic Jaunt helps you get through larger crowds without having to worry about any grapples.
7. Bard 5: fifth level bards not only get stronger inspiration dice, but they also become a Font of Inspiration, letting them regain inspiration on short rests as well as long ones. you can also use third level spells like Mass Healing Word now for a full-party heal.
8. Fighter 3: With most of our basic stuff out of the way, it’s time for some force powers. as a Psi Warrior you have Psionic Power, represented by psionic dice. you get to use these dice 2x your proficiency bonus each day, and you can also spend a bonus action to regain a die once per short rest. If that wasn’t needlessly complicated enough, you can use them in three different ways. Your Protective Field can shield yourself or another creature as a reaction. You spend the die, roll it, and reduce the damage by the roll and your intelligence modifier. Your Psionic Strike adds extra damage to your attack once per turn, again by spending a die and rolling it. Finally, your Telekinetic Movement lets you move objects with your mind, either moving it to an unoccupied space 30’ away, or straight to your hand if it would fit. You can do this one for free once a short rest, or by spending a die.
9. Fighter 4: Because we’re working with actual weapons again, it’s a good idea to get your Dexterity higher so you can actually use them.
10. Fighter 5: Fifth level fighters can attack twice each action. Your spells are still stronger, but it’s good to have something to fall back on.
11. Bard 6: back in bard, you can spend your action to Countercharm, giving nearby allies advantage on their checks against being charmed or frightened. or you can do something better and put on your Mantle of Majesty. now for the next minute, you can use the Command spell as a bonus action, including the one you use to transform. these don’t use spell slots, and charmed creatures automatically fail their save against these spells. it’s powerful, but it only works once a day. now that’s star power!
of course your targets have to understand you to follow you, so that’s why we’re grabbing Tongues this level. all the good idols come with subtitles, right?
12. Bard 7: seventh level bards get fourth level spells, like Freedom of Movement. we’ve already gotten pretty much everything we need, now it’s just about getting bigger spell slots. and your NP, of course, but that comes later.
13. Bard 8: at level 8 you get another ASI, and this time instead of raw stats we’re grabbing some more force powers. with the Gift of the Gem Dragon, you get one more point of Charisma, and you can toss people around with your brain after they attack you. you force a strength save on them, and if they fail they take force damage and get pushed. you can do this proficiency times per day.
you can also make a Hypnotic Pattern for a sick lightshow on stage.
14. Bard 9: ninth level bards get a stronger song of rest, as well as fifth level spells like Legend Lore. If it’s important enough to count as a “legend”, you can learn more about it, getting more info the more you already know. if we’re going back to the servantverse, you’re probably going to be the one doing the exposition dumps.
15. Bard 10: tenth level bards get a d10 inspiration die, as well as Expertise with two more skills like perception and athletics. even without being a berserker, you’ve still got that madness enhancement to pahmp *clap* you ahp!
you also get some Magical Secrets, two spells you can pick without worrying about class restrictions, alongside your cantrip Thunderclap. if you want a song with more punch, Destructive Wave has just what you’re looking for, dealing damage all around you that is both thunder and either radiant or necrotic, while also knocking creatures prone if they fail a constitution save. Steel Wind Strike is more to give you actual sword skills, dealing damage to a couple creatures and teleporting behind them like the chuuni you are. don’t worry though, it’s nothing personnel.
16. Bard 11: eleventh level bards get sixth level spells like Otto’s Irresistible Dance. it’s technically in character, since your NP starts with making the enemy party dance a lil. still, what other spell could I give an idol bard?
17. Bard 12: you’re still a jedi though, so we also gotta get you a little Telekinetic. that rounds up your Charisma, and you learn the mage hand cantrip, which you can cast silently and invisibly. you can even use the hand to shove people around as a bonus action. with this, you’re now fully stocked up on charisma, giving you the most inspiration and spell power possible.
18. Bard 13: thirteenth level bards get a bigger song of rest as well as your NP, Mordenkainen’s Sword. summon a sword as an action, then you can spend up to a minute using your bonus action to swing it around. it’s not coming out of your guitar, but we allow for upgrades here.
19. Bard 14: a fourteenth level idol has some unbreakable majesty, making you prettier overall as well as giving you another minute-long transformation. with this one, the first time a creature attacks you each turn they need to make a charisma save or be forced to pick on someone else. even if they pass that one, they get disadvantage on all saves against your spells next turn. and you can even use this one every short rest, sweet!
if that’s not enough you also get two more Magical Secrets! pick up Project Image so you can give concerts throughout the galaxy and Heroes’ Feast. you’re still the same berserker we know and love under all that fame, after all.
20. Bard 15: your final level comes with a bigger inspiration die, as well as an eighth level spell. Prismatic Spray feels like a good way to end the build. it’s flashy, it’s powerful, and it’s flashy!
Pros and Cons
Pros:
with MIX’s mobility and unbreakable majesty, she’s great at avoiding combat altogether, or at least avoiding getting hit. waltz through the crowd and get out of the concert before anyone even realizes your set is over!
speaking of parties, you’ve got maxed out charisma and half proficiency on everything, so of course you’re a good party face. the costume changes aren’t mandatory, but they certainly don’t hurt, either.
let’s be honest, intelligence is usually most people’s dump stat, so the fact that you have a positive modifier and half proficiency puts you well above most characters when it comes to finding stuff out, which means your Legend Lore info dumps will be all the more useful.
Cons:
a lot of your subclass is still heavily charm based, so higher level creatures will be a pain. at least you can keep their flunkies away.
you also don’t have great physical stats, so while you can fall back on your swordplay to save spell slots, it’s not ideal.
you’ve still got low wisdom and no boost to your wisdom saves, so ironically you could easily get charmed yourself, leading to a charm-chain that takes out half your party.

In dire need of Ryougi prompts that aren't gore or angst
Another one for the "Ryougi prompts that aren't gore or angst" prompt request: Touko notices that 90% of the KNK antagonists have a crush on Mikiya and decides to settle the situation non-violently by making every character with a crush on Mikiya share. Her Mikiya is now OUR Mikiya. Can Shiki withstand this new system of harem communism? Or will she snap and cut through the Iron Curtain of romance to regain exclusive rights?
For the Ryougi prompts: how about her figuring out she's pregnant with Mana. How does she find out? Have she and Mikiya been trying for some time? Is it a total surprise? How does she tell him? Pure, unadulterated fluff.

Ryougi Shiki picks up the GameBoy Touko always carries around. Ryougi Gaming.
Give me any prompts with Kirie Fujou and/or Kaie Karyou, I crave the making of content for these two underappreciated crippled humanoid-shaped bags of mental health issues.

Spare Phantom prompts? Phantom of the Opera prompts pls?
Phantom and Liz singing a duet

smut, Phantom getting comfortable with topping for the first time
Gudao deepthroating Phantom's fingers
Can we get more Morgan prompts so I can be sooooooo normal about her?
Castoria and Morgan decide to take advantage of their Servant bodies and the various medical experts around Chaldea to tear into each other. No magic, just biting, punching, fighting out all their mutual stress and trauma with each other while the others look on. Sex optional if you want but mostly I just think they should go feral.
Morgan being summoned in part 1 and meeting romani
Soulmate AU where Mash and Guda are soulmates. However, when Castoria steals Mash's name, she inadvertently steals the fated connection with it. And in the eyes of the universe, Castoria and Morgan are essentially the same entity. Soulmate au where Guda, Castoria, Morgan and Mash are tangled together fucking every law of the universe, essentially. (Soulmate doesn't have to mean romantic btw)
Morgan having Opinions on Castoria. Or Castoria having Opinions on Morgan. (As in "whoa girl your life fucking sucks" not "oh I wish I were the one fucking master" I don't care about that.)
I needs all Shirou prompts...
HF ending shirou keeps forgetting to use his left arm. The arm works perfectly well with a perfect sense of touch and all, but for some reason he just... keep forgetting it exists. It's like it's in a dead spot for him.
gore, Shirou Emiya filled with swords poking out of his body. Hedgehog style. The more fucked up he looks the better.
send Fate Zero prompts please
fate zero roleswap!! swap servants and masters around and show me the end result!

A prompt of Berserker Lancelot and Arturia as a Team in a Grail War
Berserker Lancelot getting summoned in Singularity F and following the group around like a curious dog all the way back to Chaldea
Berserker Lancelot in a magical girl-style dress. Bonus points if he still keeps his helmet and that smoke that seems to follow him in some of his ascensions
Someone trying to take a picture of berselot, but the picture comes out super blurry and fucked up every time for some reason
berselot and mash hanging out
I wanna see my boy Rama prompts please
Rama is confidently sure no woman shall ever reach his heart the way Sita did. Cut to exact wording coming back to haunt him as Chaldea makes him all too aware of his own bisexuality
Rama realizes they’re not cis. Bonus points of picking out a new name for themself lets Sita be summoned to Chaldea since they’re not “Rama” anymore
gore, Rama figured out a loophole in his curse!! If he's not allowed to "see" his wife ever again, then surely tearing out his own eyes would do the trick, right?
Rama and Sita as the art in that Ten Sho Sho Ten Sho song/video
Mephistopheles prompts pwetty pwease? 🥺👉🏻👈🏻
All that Valentine’s chocolate starts going to Gudao’s waistline… and Mephistopheles starts researching why the sight brings butterflies into their stomach. (Bonus points for neopronouns!Mephistopheles)
give me some arcueid and/or ciel prompts please, kind nasuversekinkmeme followers 🫡 sfw or nsfw!
Ciel hanging in lesbian spaces in the 90s. She doesn't have to be a lesbian herself mind you but I do think she'd be balling in butch spaces regardless.

Ciel getting her tattoos removed for tsukire
Ciel getting her tattoos
dare i ask for achilles prompts?
Achilles having a lengthy conversation with that one horse he owns who can speak but who has the shittiest personality known to man
Achilles ankleplay? As in, someone kissing or massaging his ankle. Something something baring your most vulnerable spot to a loved one.
Achilles on a surfboard!
I'll take non-shippy Guda prompts.
Fujimaru Ritsuka the Servant, we know. Last Master of Humanity, summoned as a Servant, that's all well and good. What about Fujimaru Ritsuka Alter? What sort of Servant, what sort of person, are they? (I have a few ways to guideline the prompt if a filler needs assistance but I'll leave it open ended in case they don't.)
Castoria prompts? Castoria prompts for the soul?
castoria weight gain? this girl's life sucks so bad... let her eat good food to her heart's content... let her get a beer belly and round cheeks cuz she's in a much healthier situation in chaldea and not starving in survival mode 24/7...
For the Castoria prompts: how about something involving her getting stuck? Feel free to interpret however you want (literally, metaphorically, physically, mentally, or whatever you find most interesting)
mozart and/or salieri prompts pretty please?
Salieri gets his Innocent Monster and Avenger skills temporarily nullified. While Chaldea staff is trying to figure out how to fix this, Guda takes the opportunity to let Salieri have a nice day.
Kiyohime prompts please
Anchin is summoned to Chaldea and Kiyohime drops her crush on Guda like last month’s lunch. Anchin turns out to be so eccentric (in a non-sexual way) that he makes Kiyohime look tame.

silly funney event stories are fine and all, but I wish there's more of the ones that are more grounded and maybe explores a bit more of nasuverse lore, which is supposed to be the main draw of nasu's works. I'm getting kinda tired of the absurd jokes relying on the audience's acceptance towards constant crazy shenanigans that randomly happen in chaldea bc reasons. There's no lore in there, stuff just happens because writers think it would be funny, which gets kinda boring honestly. Why do so many events start with mc sleeping and waking up in a completely out of there setting if not because those event stories don't belong in the FGO setting at all? At this point it feels more of a cop-out justification to create a backdrop to easily feature a sizable amount of cast all at once where they often become one-note grossly flanderized meme characters. On top of that, with this whole servantverse thing, these historical and mythological figures become even less of the figures they're based on, where I thought the fun of Fate series is the concept of heroes and heroines from the past being thrown into more modern setting they don't belong in.
It doesn't even have to be really serious all the time and integral to the main story like Ooku event does, just make it be more grounded. Take advantage of the premise of 'hundreds of mythological and historical figures summoned to a present day time traveling star observatory facility ran by magi', there's so much stuff that could have happened, yet they just don't take advantage of that. Why make them, all 300ish (?) of them unanimously complaint towards Chaldea and the master for no good reason? No, 'master is so awesome, charismatic, kind, tolerant, and lovable they can make it work and win the cooperation of even the most chaotic and evil of servants' is not a good reason. It's just another expression of waifu collector gacha game's inherent writing flaw.
They can easily create an interesting, and more importantly, grounded story where maybe some servants become rogue, misuse the rayshift tech to fix their past mistakes, come into conflict with enemies from their life that they meet in Chaldea, or experience cultural and moral shock with Chaldea's modern sensibilities or other heroes from different eras or something like that, but maybe treat it as more of a point of conflict and not just brush it off with 'the servants inexplicably become open-minded and go along with the way things work in present time' (the only servant I can remember that doesn't do that is Columbus in hiw interlude, and I love that, but I guess it's not enough make him likable for most folks), and lastly don't try to cram as much of the casts as possible into one event, bc it only leads to character flanderization.
I guess this is simply the route the devs choose, they want to name their ocs with the name of historical and mythological figures and weave alternate universe where these people are space aliens instead of those historical and mythological figures so in the end they're not those figures they're supposed to represent at all
TL;DR they don't take advantage enough of the nasuverse setting and Fate premise, which is kinda disappointing

Fate and Phantasms #268: Space Ishtar
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms, we've got a complicated build! Specifically, we're building Ashtart, Space Ishtar, and Ashtart Origin... all in a single build. You'd think building a sith lord, a bounty hunter, and a literal universe all in a single build would be hard, but it turns out the answer is Horizon Walker Ranger. Plus a bit of Twilight Cleric for extra space effects. Again, we apologize for any formatting issues, they should be fixed by the Calamity build this Sunday.
Check out their build breakdown below the cut, or their character sheet here!
Next up: Two aces, two eights.
Also it's time to announce the winners of the raffle for this year's viewer choice builds! We'll have the builds for Ophelia Pharmacy and Morgan Le Fay ready for the anniversary next month, so stay tuned!
Race and Background
The Space Ishtars... are not humans! For once! They're the shattered fragments of a dead god. So much less complicated, right? But we need force powers and I doubt we'll ever have an excuse to use them again, so we're making them the Astral Plane-dwelling Githyanki. This gives them +2 Wisdom and +1 Dexterity, as well as proficiency in Survival and a couple weapons (which you'd get anyway). They also get Githyanki Psionics, letting them cast an invisible Mage Hand at will. Plus, you cast Jump at third level and Misty Step at 5th level, both once a day.
We're trying to start with Ashtart here since she's ascension 1, so that means we're making her a Space Shinsengumi Operative, from the Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica. Don't ask what the Space Shinsengumi were doing there, it's just going to cause a bigger headache. Anyway, this gives her proficiency in Deception and Stealth, as well as an expanded spell list we'll barely make use of.
Ability Scores
Dexterity is number 1. One of you uses short swords, the other a gun, and none of you have medium armor on. After that is Wisdom- #3 tends to favor magical bullshit, and that's what we're casting with. Plus, if you're going to hunt bounties, you gotta find 'em first. Charisma is also pretty high, you've got the devil's sugar after all. Honestly that just sounds like a suburban way to say cocaine. Either way it makes your charisma good. Your Constitution is honestly a little lower than I'd want it. If only universe-sized attacks can affect you, that's... a lot of HP. Your Strength is pretty low though, we're just not using it. By process of elimination, we're dumping Intelligence. You might be from the future, but you're just as bad with technology as any other rinface.
Class Levels
Ranger 1: Starting off as a ranger has its perks. You get proficiency in Strength and Dexterity saves, plus three skills. Athletics will make up for the low strength, Investigation to use futuristic gadgets to scan a crime scene, and Perception to shoot good. When you're the size of a universe, you have to be good at picking out details. You also gain a Favored Enemy, and since Ashtart Origin's all about destroying the servantverse, we'll be picking up 2 humanoids for every option here. I'd love to dig through my entire library just to see what the most common servant races are, but really you should just pick the best options for your campaign anyway. This feature gives you advantage on survival and intelligence checks involving your favored enemy, as well as an additional language. Since space isn't a Natural Explorer option, we're doing with Deft Explorer instead for doubled proficiency in Survival. Tracking people down on a single planet is hard enough, let alone when you get space involved.
Ranger 2: Second level fighters get a fighting style, and since Ashtart's up first we're getting Two-Weapon Fighting so you can dual-wield. We also learn some Spells for the first time that you cast with Wisdom. Pick up Detect Magic for another futuristic scanner and Jump for more force leaps. I know you get one for free next level, but now you can use it more often. Preparedness is key in space, at least according to Pryce and Carter's Deep Space Survival Procedure and Protocol Manual.
Ranger 3: At third level you can finally turn your sabers into lightsabers thanks to the Horizon Walker's Planar Warrior feature, spending your bonus action to activate your sword against a specific creature. The next time you hit them this turn you deal extra damage and it all turns into force damage too. You can also Detect Portals within a mile of you once a short rest so you'll know when humanity's last master enters the servantverse. Or when your Amazones package arrives, either-or. you also get a whole lotta spells thanks to your horizon walking and primal awareness. PA spells can also be cast once day for free, so you won't have to use a spell slot for speak with animals when you crash land on that junk planet with all the kitties on it. you also get protection from evil and good so your goddess core protects you from possession and all that, and you can light up your lightsabers even more for a searing smite, which'll keep burning your enemy if they fail a constitution save!
ranger 4: use your first ability score improvement to bump up your dexterity so your sabers find their mark more often!
Ranger 5: Fifth level rangers get an Extra Attack each action (not your bonus action), as well as second level spells. Your Primal Awareness spell is Beast Sense, letting you see and hear through a willing beast for up to an hour. I don't remember anything like this in Saber Wars II, but you could probably flavor it as a surveillance drone. You also get Misty Step which you'd get anyway and Locate Object. We're arguably still working on the first ascension right now, but we might as well get a present for the second ascension as we go. Stick a tracking device on your foes and you'll know their location if they're within 1000 feet of you!
Ranger 6: Sixth level rangers get another round of Favored Enemies as well as Deft Explorer, giving you Roving speed. A roving ranger has 5' of extra movement, and you gain a climbing and swimming speed. Your experience in zero gravity helps you walk on walls and swim through the air.
Ranger 7: Seventh level horizon walkers have an Ethereal Step, letting you incorporeate for a turn as a bonus action once per short rest. This lets you move in any direction and pass through most objects, though you can't interact with the material plane again until the spell ends. You can also Enhance Ability, giving yourself advantage on one kind of skill check. Choose Charisma to lay on the devil's sugar, Dexterity for extra flips in your swordfighting, or Wisdom to track your mark even easier. It's quite versatile.
ranger 8: ok, enought of the first ascension, let's get that second ascension! use this asi to get the fighting initiate feat for some archery skills- that's a +2 on all your ranged weapon attack rolls! you also get the land's stride, so you can move through difficult terrain super easy.
cleric 1: wow, we're speedin right along to third ascension already! bumpin over to twilight cleric gives you a whole new list of spells (check the phb to see how multiclassing works), plus you have supercharged darkvision with Eyes of the Night for 300' of darkvision and the ability to share it with other creatures once a day, or with a spell slot. you'll also always shoot first thanks to your vigilant blessing, giving one creature advantage on their next initiative. good bounty hunters always shoot first, at least until the remakes! pick up guidance to be good at everything with a +1d4 on your next skill check, light for a proper light saber, and thaumaturgy to act like the god you are. you also get first level spells like faerie fire and sleep, but what we really want is command to lead the shinsengumi, detect evil and good to find your other fragments, and spiritual weapon for ashtart origin's weird ball thing that you can attack with as a bonus action.
ranger 9: ninth level rangers get third level spells, and you get a lot of them. your universal translator now lets you speak to plants. you also get more speed with the haste spell, doubling your speed, giving you an extra action (with caveats), and a +2 bonus to your ac! plus, you can turn your sword into an elemental weapon for an even hotter lightsaber.
ranger 10: tenth level rangers are tireless, giving you a bonus action that'll cover you in star stuff for some temporary hp, and you lose exhaustion on short rests! You can also go ghost with nature's veil to turn invisible for a round as a bonus action proficiency times a day. the universe is mostly nothing anyway, so just spread out a bit.
Cleric 2: Speaking of spreading out, second level twilight clerics can use their Channel Divinity option Twilight Sanctuary to cover yourself in twilight for a minute. Whenever a creature ends its turn in your universe, you can give it temporary HP or end an effect charming or frightening it. Your goddess core will protect you from the more common status effects. You can also use it to Turn Undead, and you get one channel divinity use a short rest.
Cleric 3: Third level clerics get second level spells like the freebies Moonbeam and See Invisibility. Also, pick up Hold Person for a force choke, and Lesser Restoration to cover up any status effects your Twilight Sanctuary won't take care of.
Ranger 11: Eleventh level horizon walkers can make Distant Strikes, letting you teleport up to 10 feet each attack. In addition, if you attack two different creatures you can attack a third as well! You can also protect yourself from anything less than a universe-ending threat with Gaseous Form. It prevents you from attacking or casting spells, but you can fly and move through small gaps, plus you have resistance to all nonmagical damage.
Ranger 12: to help with that literally universal protection, use this ASI to pick up the Tough feat for 30 extra HP now, and an extra 2 every time you level up.
Ranger 13: Thirteenth level rangers get fourth level spells like your Primal Awareness spell Locate Creature. It also has a limit of 1,000 feet, but you don't have to know what they've got on them to do it. Plus, this one lasts an hour, not ten minutes. you also pick up Guardian of Nature. pick the primal beast option for Ashtart, increasing your walking speed, giving you advantage on strength-based attacks (don't use this part), and making your melee weapons deal force damage. for Spishtar and Ashtart Origin, check out the great tree. you get temporary HP, make constitution saves with advantage as well as dex and wisdom based attacks, and the area around you is difficult terrain for enemies. also you can use Banishment to yeet people back to their home plane if they're not already there. the astral plane is only for you. and the other yous, I guess.
Ranger 14: a fourteenth level ranger can Vanish as a bonus action. it's literally just letting you hide easier. you also can't be found nonmagically, but this is the point where most spellcasters have ninth level spells, people are probably finding you magically. on the plus side, you get another favored enemy! so... yeah, that's this level.
Ranger 15: okay, back on the "I will never die" train. your last goody from your subclass is Spectral Defense, letting you give yourself resistance to an attack's damage as a reaction. no limit on this one either. You can also use Freedom of Movement, if you want to spend a fourth level spell slot on something you can already do as a bonus action. I guess use this if you get arrested in the astral plane? ah well, doubling down usually isn't a terrible idea.
Ranger 16: use your last ASI to finally give Spishtar a break with the Crossbow Expert feat. Now you can attack with a crossbow multiple times an action, you can use ranged attacks in melee, and you can get a shot in with a hand crossbow even while dual-wielding.
Ranger 17: our final level is actually a pretty spicy one this time, since seventeenth level rangers get fifth level spells. you can Commune with Nature to learn the general layout of the planet you're on, and you also get the closest thing D&D has to a spaceship, the Teleportation Circle. It takes a minute to set up, but it creates a portal to any other teleportation circle on this plane of existence for a round, and you can create a permanent one wherever you like by casting it once a day for a year. we end this build with one last spell, but we're letting you make a choice. pick up Conjure Volley for extra firepower for Spishtar, or Steel Wind Strike for some impressive lightsaber action on Ashtart's end. either way, it'll be a bloodbath.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
with almost 200 hp, options for healing, and a ton of ways to cut down incoming damage, this build can be incredibly tanky when it wants to be. and if you're ever in a sticky situation, you have plenty of options to get out of there and escape to fight another day, prolonging the season finale yet again.
being three people also gives you quite a bit of variety in a fight, with options for melee, ranged, and magical combat!
outside of combat you are fantastic at tracking down enemies, especially if they happen to be humanoid.
Cons:
having so much variety makes it hard to focus on just one kind of combat, so you're not as powerful as someone who just does melee, or ranged, or magic.
your concentration saves are also pretty bad, so expect Ashtart's hastes and elemental weapons to end earlier than you'd like.
having so many redundancies packed in means you probably won't run out of an important part of your kit, but it also makes a couple of level-ups less impactful. like how level 17 gives you practically nothing to work with.
