Fasciation in a chaffhead flower bunch (Carphephorus corymbosus)!

Instead of a round stalk with a flower on it like normal god-fearing plants, it has a long, folded, ribbon-like flower. Bizarre, and really cool.

Turns out this is an abnormal growth condition in plants called fasciation. In which a normally cylindrical structure deforms into a crest-shape. Here it is affecting a rosebay willowherb flower.

I forget what initially inspired this since it was an older wip, but I remember it being something about the beauty in genetic mutations. Bicephaly (being two headed) and fasciation are both pretty rare, but pretty cool little quirks of the way nature and life form. It'll probably be up on my etsy eventually, but maybe not till after the holidays.
