I'm honestly at a loss of words at how nice this is 😭 You drew such a dynamic, fun scene and the atmosphere is so strong!! I know it isn't what he did in the fic but Reza's collar grab and expression is honestly perfect lmao
I honestly can't thank you enough for vouching for my work!! And thanks for the helpful feedback as well! I'll do my part and keep working on it o7
“And while you’re at it, don’t look at another woman in your life ever again.”
Today's art came from a fanfic I have found while scrolling on this beautiful app and I was immediately caught because the author ( @rekenemee ) draws the scenes that take place in the story and you see them as you scroll. (Hugest green flag imo)
You can read Our Lives on Saturn on AO3
Reasons why you should in my opinion are under the cut!
Edit: If you do don't forget to comment if you have thoughts about it, comments are more often than not author fuel and they add to the discussions about the work!
Not only that the protagonist is really relatable to me, the writing is well paced and entertaining (AND WELL FORMATED) and the points that stood out to me are:
1. The main character (Reza) has flaws that do tie with his strenghts and he feels very well rounded. So it's not the usual kind of OC that I see around, it feels like the story does go a bit deeper than what you would expect from (character) x OC
2. Even though the main couple IS very well set from the start, Reza still doesn't fall for the dude at the start and has some interactions with other bachelor/ettes that don't feel like they're there just to stall the main couple. It feels like it has more of a purpose.
It's definitely by design that everything is that well placed, picked and written since the fic was in development for quite a while! And it definitely shows through and I can't really reccomend it enough.
DISCLAIMER: I may or may not have exaggerated the scene in my head and Reza does NOT actually grab Alex by the collar and pointed at his face while shouting angrily.................................. I just really wish he did now.
But like I finished reading that at 2 am so don't blame me
Edit 2: I ALSO LITERALLY MISREMEMBERED THE MOON THAT IS ONE OF THE MOST NOTICEABLE THINGS ABOUT THE SCENE BECAUSE IT'S ALSO DEPICTED IN ONE OF THE ILLUSTRATIONS I WILL OFF MY EXISTENCE HOW WAS I SO HIGH OFF MY TITS TO FORGET EVEN THAT ????
#olos#our lives on saturn#FANART OF MY SILLY LITTLE GUY OC IS CRAZY BTW!!#like people actually like my son that much??!#i unironically got so giddy seeing this i had to listen to phonk for an hour just to burn some energy and chill out LMAO#farmer reza#for me

Thought
They walked single file on and on until Antea had no idea how long they had been under the cave's oppressive roof. At last, they turned a corner, and there before them stood the ruin.
The water was gone, leaving a vast and empty cavern that arched high overhead. At the center of it polished marble walls stood beautiful and sleek, two stories high and curved around some treasure at their heart. They had barely started to crumble, some of the capstones falling to lie like scattered pearls on the granite floor. A door faced them, a perfect circular arch. It beckoned them inside.
Antea took a step back as pain split her head in two. They had come here. They had come--
She didn't remember anything about her father, this time, but she still had the fit. When it was over, Jedan helped her up, and if his hands lingered on her shoulders longer than necessary, well, she wasn't complaining. He didn't say anything. None of them said anything. The silence of the cave was too complete for that.
She crept into the building, not sure what she was afraid of. Her own head, or maybe her father. But either way, the sight of the curving hallways of the ruin made her heart pound faster and her palms sweat. Nothing jumped out of at her, for the ruins were empty, everything covered with a thick layer of dust. Old stone tables and chairs still stood along the walls, intricately carved with dragons. Their stone eyes watched Antea as she led the way deeper into the building. And it was at one of those dragon-carved tables that Antea found the first skeleton.
It was sprawled sideways across a bench, its spine and ribs and pelvis holding together as if they were still part of a living thing. From the layout of the body, the head and limbs had stuck off the edges of the bench after the occupant had died. Gravity had tugged at them until they had come free and tumbled to the ground. They rested there, the hands curled in on themselves, the skull staring up at Antea with a gaping mouth and a full set of teeth.
Reza took a step back. Antea said, "This one's not a deer, and I don't remember it being here."
"No," Vilsel said grimly. "But she has been dead a very long time, so if you don't remember your head is worse off than I thought. Whoever murdered her is dead either by execution or old age."
"She?" Antea asked.
Reza's eyes narrowed. "Murder?"
He pointed. "See the cuts on the ribs there? Someone put a sword through her. And you can tell her sex by the shape of the pelvis."
Antea took a step back. "Are those the sort of details they teach you to notice in constable school?"
"Some of them," he said. "Let us move on, and leave this one to her rest."
Though
The moon was full, spreading just enough cold light to see the shadows of fences and farmhouses, so they plodded on through the night, tripping over burrows and blundering through spider webs strung like lace between strands of tall grass. Vilsel drove them on relentlessly, convinced that the farmer would work his way free and report them at any second.
"I'm tired," Reza complained as they pushed through another field of baby oats. She lagged at the back of the party, her steps dragging as though she'd walked twice the distance as everyone else.
Vilsel said, "That's too bad, Your Highness. March."
Tough- couldn't find this one.
Through
After lunch, they marched on with Vilsel barking orders at them as if they were constables in training instead of lost citizens. Jedan fell back to walk beside her and said, "Do you remember what I said about training the favored, Antea?"
"What specifically?"
"That the main part of training a favored is teaching her to use her god-granted powers."
"How are you going to do that when we're not even sure what they are?"
"We know a few of them." He listed on his fingers, "Detecting falsehood, determining the truth, and forcing confession. It gives us a place to start. Detecting falsehoods should be an easy one to test."
"Oh, all right," Antea said. "We'll practice. Tell me what you think of me. Throw a few lies in there, and let me figure out what's true."
Jedan froze from the waist up, although his feet kept plodding on through the field. "What? Oh, no, that's not--"
Antea knew an evasion when she heard one. "You don't want to do it."
"No, I don't want to do it," he said, dropping his gaze to the ground.
"Well, there's no good reason for that, unless you don't want me to know what you think of me for some reason." She frowned, turning over in her mind all the opinions Jedan might have about her in the privacy of his head. "Do you secretly pity me for being sick? Think I'm annoying? Regret leaving Drazen with me in the first place? Think it's my fault we're being hunted? Because you know it probably is." Her throat closed as she forced herself to list all the options. She stopped before she was done because there was too much wrong with her, because there were too many things for him to hate. Impatiently she waited for an answer, all too aware that if he held his tongue, she would never know what he thought of her at all. Forcing his confession the way she had with the farmer was a tempting solution, but it felt like a betrayal, and she wasn't sure it would work.
He rubbed his forehead, his eyes still downcast. "No. No, Antea, that's not how I think of you."
Antea relaxed slightly. "Okay. These new powers say that's true, which is nice. They don't tell me what you do think of me, which is annoying."
Jedan's shoulders relaxed, too, and he finally met her gaze with wary golden eyes. "Your powers may not be that specific."
"They told me the truth the farmer was lying about."
"Well, I wasn't lying, and perhaps you just need to practice."
"Lie to me about something, then."

The Iranian Revolution, also known as the Islamic revolution of 1979, was a series of events that culminated in the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty in 1979.
The revolution was sparked by decades of popular discontent, economic turmoil and an increasingly repressive regime under the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and the establishment of an Islamic republic under the leadership of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
The Iranian Revolution had a profound impact on the country and the world, shaping Iran’s political landscape and international relations. It also led to debates over the form that an Islamic state should take and the role that religion should play in society, including gender relations.
In 2010, Dean Henderson published a book ‘Big Oil & Their Bankers In The Persian Gulf: Four Horsemen, Eight Families & Their Global Intelligence, Narcotics & Terror Network’. On Friday he published excerpts from his book which describe Iran before the revolution.
The US Central Intelligence Agency (“CIA”) created SAVAK, the Shah’s secret police, in 1957, which became known for its brutality and human rights abuses. Its agents were trained by the CIA and top brass were trained through USAID’s Public Safety Programme.
The Shah’s regime, supported by the CIA, dealt with peaceful protests with brutality, leading to the disappearance of dissenters and massacres like the 15th of Khordad Massacre in 1963.
A small group of elite families, close to the Shah, controlled the Iranian economy, with the Rafsanjani family being a notable example.
Multinational corporations, aided by US-taxpayer-guaranteed loans, established huge joint ventures in Iran, leading to an export-led development strategy that benefited a handful of Tehran elite.
This led to food deficits, with Iran importing basic foods like wheat and corn to feed its urbanised population, and the destruction of many villages, leading to a flood of destitute farmers into cities.

World Politics as Black & White: Iran and Israel or how people fall victims of delusions intentionally projected on them
Мировая политика как черное и белое: Иран и Израиль, или как люди становятся жертвами намеренно проецируемых на них заблуждений
To a previous text of mine about Iran, an apparently pro-Iranian and pro-Palestinian reader reacted expressing his fervent support for Iran; however, when it comes to modern states, governments, non-governmental organizations, companies and conglomerates, as well as international bodies, any blind support is totally wrong, misleading and destructive. It actually prevents people from accurately assessing the situation in each and every point. Even worse, when the absurd consideration and the erroneous evaluation of a state is laced with an equally false demonization of the opponent, then people enter into the vast realm of the unreal, the fictional, and the delusional.
Darius I the Great (522-486 BCE) of the Achaemenid dynasty, Khosrow (Chosroes) I (531-579 CE) of the Sassanid dynasty, Adud al-Dawla (949–983) of the Buyid dynasty, and Tahmasp I (1524-1576) of the Safavid dynasty in the dates of their reigns; neither the ayatollahs nor the leader of the self-styled National Council of Iran Reza 'Pahlavi' can represent the colossal historical and cultural heritage of 3000 years of Iranian History. All the same, all the Iranians together and their military commanders in charge of the administration can certainly afford the task.

Introduction
When it comes to humans, human societies, and states, there is nothing as mistaken as a "black & white" contrast; the people, who intentionally adopt and propagate such an erroneous approach, stance and attitude, become inevitably integral part of the problem they intend to discuss, because they thoughtlessly victimize themselves. Quite unfortunately, all regimes, establishments and states have gone astray and all will be duly, terribly and inescapably punished; in this case, as usual, the exceptions confirm the rule. What follows is my response to the reader's comment that I republish first.
Mauro Meneghin
Your comment against Ayatollah Khomeini appears unclear and not justified. I'm not an expert on the history by any means, but I now see that Ayatollah Khomeini is standing up with honour to defend the sovereignty and dignity of Iran and of the Palestinians. Ayatollah Khomeini is a wise man who uses reason and moderation in his decisions, and his religious approach serves well to provide moral guidance.
If you dislike him, I wonder if maybe it's due to envy because Egypt is a puppet of the US, but instead, Iran is still a sovereign country with honour.
My response
Thank you for your comment that gives me the opportunity to clarify several issues, which trouble and confuse billions of people today. I am sure that you misread and misunderstood my brief text, but this is the least.
I realize that your approach to events is essentially a Manichaean aberration, which divides everything into "good" and "evil" or "black and white"; quite unfortunately, this categorization does not exist. It is an inconsistent and absurd falsehood that has been systematically spread and dexterously imposed worldwide by all ruling elites, secret societies, governments, states, regimes, establishments, and international bodies. They all need you and me (and all the rest) to be stupid enough to believe that some "good guys" combat "the evil ones". This never happens. And anyone who adopts this false and disastrous approach is genuinely incapacitated to ever understand what happens.
An even worse version of this fallacy is the story of "peoples" fighting against "cruel elites" or "poor people" standing up against the "world Mafia of money"; for the purpose of confusing, deceiving and deluding all the people across the Earth, several subliminally strong terms are created, but they are all nonsensical, fallacious and harmful for the average people. It is essential for everyone not to be caught in the malicious process, because its end will be the destruction of the Mankind.
As a matter of fact, few people escape from this mental, intellectual, educational and academic delusion, which is certainly worse than any pandemic. This is so because by means of a technically Manichaean conceptualization, people are fooled, fail to understand what happens around them, and are therefore easily, complementarily and comprehensively controlled by all the forces, which -while fighting against one another- need exactly to spiritually, mentally and intellectually enslave and utilize the masses by reducing them to "followers", "admirers", "supporters", "adepts" or even "party members" and by canceling the enormous potentialities that the non-deceived and non-deluded people have.
You say that Ayatollah Khomeini "is standing" and that he "is wise"! Odd! Ayatollah Khomeini died in 1989! I am afraid that you confusingly thought that I referred to Ayatollah Khamenei, who is currently the imam of Iran. You did not realize that the reference that I made in my text is about the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and not the current imam.
In addition, you speak about "defending the sovereignty" of a country, but this is totally unrelated to the theological concept that Ayatollah Khomeini developed and which I denounced, stating that the notion of "Wilayat al faqih" (conventionally translated as "Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist", in other words, the regime of the ayatollahs) is historically rejected as nonexistent throughout the History of Iran, and the History of Islamic states.
All the same, beyond this rather minor issue, in your comment, I find a most misleading approach that turns every person to a victim of one of this world's major forces and backstage societies. These historical orders have nothing to do with states and do not care at all about countries; they only use governments and international bodies, by incessantly placing their stooges in positions that enable them to duly implement the agendas of their superiors.
So, the main part of my response will revolve around the following points:
I. Every sectarian approach and every sectarian thought are a vicious mistake and an intolerable act.
When it comes to faithful people, it is even worse; any sectarian approach is a grave sin. It greatly damages the person (or government or state) that happens to be foolish enough to believe that their choice is perfect and that the opposite is evil. All people who think that what they like is "good" and what they reject is "bad" are so idiotic that they -in and by themselves- justify the agendas of secret organizations that intend to eliminate the major part of Mankind.
To make things clear, I herewith define sectarianism as an egoistic, partial, narrow-minded, deliberately subjective, and therefore always wrong adherence to a specific idea, thought, opinion, concept, notion, ideology, political ideology, conviction, philosophy, theology, cult, belief, religion or system of values; sectarianism is a very immoral attitude, behavior and model of life anytime anywhere and under any circumstances whatsoever. This is so because it always constitutes a abhorrent sin and a calamitous transgression not to consider another person's, group's, society's, people's or nation's rights, values and standpoints.
Detrimental to anyone against whom it is expressed, a sectarian predisposition automatically prompts support, at least partly, for the concept or idea that is rejected by a sectarian person. Sectarianism is disastrous to everyone who happens to be too weak and too erroneous to avoid succumbing to its attraction; this abhorrent stance discredits every sectarian thinker or activist, religious leader or statesman, rendering him untrustworthy, intransigent and fanatic.
The only possible remedy to sectarianism (within the mind of every sectarian) is a reconsideration and a systematic, forcefully implemented at the personal level, effort to evaluate the other's (any other person's, group's, society's, people's or nation's as per occasion) measures, standards, rights, needs, and values objectively, impartially and neutrally.
At the level of international relations, an abhorrent example of sectarianism (noticed during the past few days) is the attitude of Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and many other states in the region toward the Bedouin citizens of Israel. For reasons particular to them, this ethnic group decided to accept the existence of the Zionist state. All the same, many of them have been mistreated by the Israeli authorities on many occasions. Few days ago, around 50 Bedouin families in Israel were left without homes, because the respective authorities demolished their illegally built edifices.
Yet, building structures wherever they find it opportune has been very common to nomads since time immemorial all over the Earth. However, none of the supposedly "good" states, which care for "justice" and fight for the "rights" of the Palestinians, did not champion the rightful cause of the Bedouins, because they are not their "political tool". About:
Authorities level 47 illegal homes in Bedouin village, leaving hundreds homeless
This fact fully demonstrates that Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and many other states in the region are as criminal, heinous, vicious and unacceptable structures as Israel. Any person and any state that is characterized by sectarianism are totally untrustworthy and genuinely dangerous for the society or the international community (if we ever accept that such notion exists!).
II. Political situations and international relations do not define the nature of regimes, governments, and states.
There is no doubt that the Palestinian nation has been a long time victim of the cruel colonial plans, deeds and practices of England, before being targeted with genocide by the anti-Jewish, Zionist state. But by supporting the Palestinians, Iran (or any other state) does not get the nature of its regime approved; these issues are very different from, and totally unrelated to, one another.
The nature of the Islamic regime of Iran is entirely fraudulent; it is viciously anti-Iranian and even worse, it contradicts all historical standards of Islamic states that existed throughout Iran since the 7th–9th c. CE. Khomeini's absurdity of Wilayat al faqih is a preposterous, colonial novelty masterminded by the English colonials, who invited the young Ruhollah Khomeini to Iraq in the 1930s for studies and managed to aptly guide him as to how to invent a counterfeit concept that is tantamount to Sunnitization of Iran.
As a matter of fact, this deceitful theory consists in a form of political islam, which is a colonial fallacy invented by 19th c. colonial Orientalists as a tool first against the Ottoman Empire and Qajar Iran. Political islam is the worst enemy of the Islamic world, because Islam has nothing to do with the filthy world of politics, and there had never been 'politics' in any Islamic state.
By acting as per the needs of the apostate Freemasonic lodge of England, which attempts to destroy the (also fake) state of Israel (by means of an alliance with the Jesuits, the Anti-Christian pope Francis I, and a degenerate Zionist synagogue), Iran became the tool of the most ferociously anti-Islamic forces. In any case, since Day 1, the detrimentally anti-Iranian regime of the Ayatollahs has proved to be a useful plaything for the most perverse forces of financial globalism. It must therefore be replaced as soon as possible.
III. When it comes to world affairs, there is no such thing as a chessboard with "black" and "white" squares.
The world is not divided into "good" ones and "bad" ones; Zbigniew Brzezinski's 'The Grand Chessboard' is a fraud. It consists in a historical falsification, a political aberration, and a technically Manichaean delusion. Most of the naïve people who read it did not understand that its purpose was mainly to fool eventually all the readers by projecting onto their minds deliberately invented fallacies. No assertion made in the book is correct. The proof of what I am saying at this point has been available online for many years ever since the notorious and very much publicized meeting between the fraudulent author and the Russian intellectual Alexander Dugin took place in 2005.
"The meeting had been set with a photo-prop of a chessboard placed between Brzezinski and Dugin (to promote Brzezinski’s book). This arrangement with a chessboard prompted Dugin to ask whether Brzezinski considered Chess to be a game meant for two: “No, Zbig shot back: It is a game for one. Once a chess piece is moved; you turn the board around, and you move the other side’s chess pieces. There is ‘no other’ in this game”, Brzezinski insisted".
Strategic cultural fond, https://dzen.ru/a/YkLt_-d9BHIRxNMi
This story tells us something simple; the chessboard exists only if you are naïve enough to accept that it does. In other words, it is a nonexistent reality or, if you prefer, a delusion structured in lines that lead to destruction those who admit that they exist.
IV. All mass media report the same lies, changing only the «chess sets».
In Gaza and elsewhere, the mass media systematic falsehood makes everyone believe that "innocent people" are murdered by "cruel rulers"; this is a central part of the confusion spread in order to drive Mankind to extinction. In fact, there are cruel acts perpetrated by all, but there are no "innocent" or "good" or "enlightened" rulers in today's world. Consequently, this evaluation is extended to governments, states, and international bodies.
The same is valid for peoples, ethno religious groups, and nations indeed. Within the colonial and postcolonial context of the last five centuries, no people and no nation managed to preserve their cultural integrity and national identity; only very few subjugated nations, which are located in remote regions of Africa, Asia and Latin America that are lacking technological infrastructure, make an exception.
Before the colonization process started (in different times from continent to continent and from land to land), all different nations were in variant forms of decay; and during the colonization period, all the peoples and ethnic groups underwent a severe process of Westernization. Because of these facts, one should not exempt peoples from being held to account for their contribution to the onerous and troublesome situation in which they find themselves nowadays.
For this reason, all the news, the reports, the editorials and the fact files published here and there are practically speaking identical; what the Iranian mass media report as news on Israel is equivalent to what the Israeli mass media propagate about Iran and Hamas.
V. The dignity of the Iranians and the Palestinians is a most controversial subject.
In fact, the dignity of every nation hinges on the morality, the dexterity and the ability of their elites and rulers. Many nations have been dishonored, subsequently destroyed, and ultimately vanished because of their immoral and incompetent elites. At the very beginning of every case of decay, there is always immorality – evaluated as per the local standards and values.
When the ignorance of the elites and the rulers, their inability to cope with rivals, and their naivety turns them to mere tools in the hands of the enemies of their enemies, then you can expect the worst! This is so because only strong nations attack enemies directly; on the contrary, weak, vile and perfidious nations that cannot attack directly their enemies search always for fools able to do the job for them. In fact, the nations, which are governed by idiots believing that "the enemy of my enemy can be my friend", risk being disintegrated.
Unfortunately, Iran became -gradually and secretively- the ally of England against Israel; UK-based Muslims are in their majority fake, because they fall into the traps of the English secret services, namely the fallacy of multiculturalism, the fraud of political islam, and the false promises that the colonial statesmen, diplomats and academics often make to their forthcoming victims.
And this is exactly what happened to the Islamic Republic of Iran because the ill-fated state has become the tool of the anti-Israeli, Zionist-Jesuit establishment of the UK and the US. In fact, Iran and Israel have nothing to divide and do not need to be enemies; the silly, anti-Israeli stance of the unrepresentative, religious Iranian authorities caused only harm to their country and people. This becomes evident, if one takes into account the fact that, if tomorrow Israel collapses, Iran will gain practically speaking nothing.
The true forces that clash in the Middle East and in other parts of the world are:
a) the anti-Israeli, globalist, Zionist-Jesuit establishment represented by Vatican, the 'deep state' in the US, President Biden, many EU figureheads that are in striking contrast with earlier European statesmen, former UK premier Boris Johnson, the so-called Neo-cons, the Israeli Left, and -last but not the least- the majority of the top IT companies in the US;
and
b) the pro-Israeli, Freemasonic-Zionist establishment represented by major Oil companies worldwide, former US President Trump, the US Pentagon, few EU figureheads after the end of the tenures of Jacques Chirac and Gerhard Schroeder, notably Victor Orban and Marine Le Pen, Xi Jinping's China, Naredra Modi's India, Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli non-religious Right, Elon Musk, and -last but not the least- Putin's Russia.
There are also other major forces and influential societies that I don't mention at this point, but they either side with one of two establishments or stay neutral or inactive to some extent.
Opposite such forces, the Islamic Republic of Iran is an infinitesimal quantity. What naïve people fail to grasp is that, if Iran proved to be able to survive, this is due to the fact that the anti-Israeli, globalist, Zionist-Jesuit establishment made it known to the countries that dealt, cooperated and allied with Iran that they do not mind if they do so to some extent. Iran is a useful instrument to them. Therefore, there is no 'bravery' involved, and the Iranian rulers are typically immoral, cynical and hypocritical - just like their 'enemies'.
In addition, it would be definitely foolish and totally misleading for anyone to eventually imagine (let alone conclude) that sizeable organizations and international bodies can possibly be impenetrable and therefore utilized exclusively by one of the aforementioned two establishments; it is totally inconsiderate to believe that for instance BRICS+, as a group of states, acts as a tool for the interests of only the pro-Israeli, Freemasonic-Zionist establishment. As a matter of fact, the original concept of BRIC is known to have been credited to a major globalist thinker, Jim O'Neill who back in 2001 was chairman of Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
The bottom line is that, under current circumstances, the dignity of the Iranians and the Palestinians is none, because both nations have been fooled by their corrupt elites and leaders. It is very sad, but it is like this, and the same is valid for most of the peoples and the nations across the Earth.
VI. Believing promises given by enemies disguised as friends may be lethal.
Hamas and Gazan Palestinians are in exactly in the same position as the foolish Ukrainians who believed the mendacious discourses of Boris Johnson and every other English governmental and diplomatic filth, only to ruin their own country. Stupid Poles, silly Czechs, and the worthless Baltic elites are about to commit the same lethal error.
As a matter of fact, Iran is not a sovereign state, but a tool of UK's Foreign Office. Iran's dignity has therefore been ridiculed due to impermissible policies that Iran pursued at the international level only for the sake of the English globalist agenda. Crypto-Jesuits, like the former Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, the notorious Mohammad Javad Zarif, also known as "Boris Johnson's Filipina", infiltrated the Iranian state, killing gallant but unfortunate military and paramilitary officers, who were honest enough not to grasp the filth of Iranian politics.
Only idiots may believe that Sardar (General) Qasem Soleimani (1957-2020) was assassinated by the Americans (3 January 2020) without consent from the ruling ayatollahs whose vengeance against the abhorrent assassination was evidently too pale, too insipid, and too timid. The pathetic theologians, who are genuinely unable to run a government, may have been frightened due to false data 'leaked' to them, as per which Soleimani had been about to undertake a regime change, supplanting the worthless religious dogmatists with military pragmatists. This shows the extent of incapacity that typifies the Islamic Republic, which is a shame for Iran's three millennia long History.
Similar disaster befell on the Palestinians of Gaza. Having known that Hamas was openly and repeatedly supported by Benjamin Netanyahu, Gazans are now being punished for not reacting against the shame of their leadership. Every Palestinian knew very well that Hamas took control of Gaza only with the help of Netanyahu; it would therefore be foolish for any Palestinian to imagine that this deeply immoral act would not lead to an unsurpassed disaster. This is what truly happens now.
While two million people in Gaza lost their properties and currently live in tents, facing starvation, death, and exile, the disreputable Hamas leaders rejoice the lavish environment of their fabulous villas in Qatar. Nice resistance indeed! One should be mentally degenerate and morally dead in order not to understand that it is all an entire theater played at the detriment of all the populations of Palestine irrespective of state, religion, ethnic origin, and ancestry.
VII. Military and farmers against the royals and the ayatollahs
There is certainly a medication to the very preoccupying, current situation in Iran, but by definition it cannot be the son of the last shah of Iran. It is known to all that the family of Mohammad Reza lived in France and America, i.e. in states that were historical enemies of the Iranian Empire. By so doing, they discredited themselves to the eyes of the average Iranians.
Even worse, the infamous claimant to the throne Reza 'Pahlavi' irreparably stigmatized himself as an Iranian and Muslim renegade by shamelessly making known the following: "Just as I defend the rights of every Iranian, I am proud to stand up for the rights of the Iranian LGBTQ community". https://twitter.com/PahlaviReza/status/1723830025374351830
In fact, pretty much like the Islamic Republic of Iran has been a Western colonial forgery that tarnishes indeed 14 centuries of Islamic faith, culture and civilization in Iran, the ill-fated Pahlavi dynasty (1925-1979) was a colonial trick that besmirched 2500 years of Iranian History. The pseudo-kingdom utilized the country's pre-Islamic past in order to fool the masses and to introduce Western concepts and behaviors, instead of aptly modernizing the country and duly empowering its infrastructure while preserving the traditional culture and revivifying the historical heritage after the example of Kemal Ataturk in Turkey.
Even worse, the pseudo-religious regime put in place an alien system, the pseudo-Shia "Islamic republic", which functioned as the ultimate colonial instrument geared for the replacement of the Islamic Iranian culture with a Sunni-styled political activism.
Because of the aforementioned situations, Iran's survival will be guaranteed only by a transient military regime that will reflect in the governance of Iran the values, the traditional culture, the historical heritage, the social order of the rural areas, and the provincial particularities or localisms. In its practices, Iran's forthcoming military establishment should combine tolerance for the Westernized Iranian Diaspora, vision for Iran's role in the world, and absence of religious ideology. After extensive consultations, numerous conferences, public debates, and active participation of people from all the walks of life, a series of referenda will help bring forth a totally new form of governance fully supported by all the people of Iran.
Meanwhile, the transient military regime of Iran will have to make it clear to every Iranian that there cannot be national sovereignty without a deeply decolonized and de-Westernized national education which must be based on truthful evaluation and accurate representation of the nation's historical past and heritage. It is degenerate, despicable and ridiculous for the anti-Iranian and pseudo-Islamic regime of the ignorant and illiterate ayatollahs to pretend that they defend the rights of the Palestinians without first protecting the majestic past of Iran from all the Western academic distortions, Orientalist denigrations, colonial historiographical clichés, constant references to fallacious sources (such as Herodotus, Diodorus Siculus, etc.), and the bogus-scholarly interpretational schemes, divides, and cases of foremost anti-Iranian and anti-Oriental racism due to inferior 'Ancient Greek' authors, the likes of Aeschylus, Thucydides, Xenophon, Plato, Aristotle, and others.
Instead of mobilizing the entire world against the colonial forgeries of Hellenism, Classicism, Greco-Roman civilization, Judeo-Christian heritage, as per which the world is divided into two parts, namely "the Civilized West" and the "Barbarian Orient", the silly ayatollahs played the game of the English and the French colonials.
Without rejecting the present world order, which is based on the so-called Western European Renaissance and the ensued fallacies, the useless Islamic Republic played exactly the role ascribed to them by the Western colonizers; they became part of the problems that the Anglo-Saxon racists created in the Middle East.
VIII. There is no difference between Iran and Egypt when it comes to servility toward major colonial schemes.
I don't understand why you mention Egypt in the last sentence of your comment. All countries in the region are subservient to their Western colonial masters; there is no difference. Turkey, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, etc. are all controlled by the colonial countries, England, France, America and their satellites. All these so-called regional powerhouses have no proper national education, no decolonized and de-Westernized universities, no true national identity, and no cultural integrity. It is therefore totally absurd to supposedly fight for independence without a strong feeling of historicity that permeates the education and the entire society.
The same is also valid for the Palestinians, who never undertook a nation building process, simply because this was not the priority of their treacherous leaders who wanted to make money with their bogus-resistance against Israel. Otherwise, all Palestinians would be proud to know that their presence in Palestine antedates that of the Ancient Hebrews and that their ancestors came from Crete, Western Anatolia, and the South Balkans during the Sea Peoples Invasions. In fact, because of the ineptitude of their leaders, Palestinians remain a populace without true national consciousness.
Iran and Egypt are exactly at the same level in this regard. Just like Tehran, Cairo has always been, under khedivial, royal, military and republican administration, a docile and servile capital filled with empty words, useless threats, angry jargons, and unrealistic purposes. Irrevocably fooled with the nothingness of Pan-Arabism and the worthlessness of political islam, the Egyptian academic, intellectual, religious, military, economic and political elites never imagined that their foremost task would be to denounce at the international level and to eliminate at the local level the colonial forgeries of Hellenism, Classicism, Greco-Roman civilization, Judeo-Christian heritage, as per which the world is divided into two parts, namely "the Civilized West" and the "Barbarian Orient",
Actually, such things would be too difficult for theologically indoctrinated morons like Khomeini and uneducated fools like Gamal Abdel Nasser to comprehend.
As you see, you don't need to be Egyptian in order to reject the fallacious notions advanced by Ayatollah Khomeini. You need to be Iranian.
After all, why should a historian side with one or another state, when both fail to defend their historical heritage, national dignity, and cultural integrity?
To conclude I would say that a honest historian cannot possibly allow himself to be caught up in the fight among the Jesuits, the Freemasons, and the Zionists; even more so in the under-covered conflict between the UK and Israel, and in the clashes of their respective instruments, i.e. the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hamas.

THE AUGUST MOON
IC DATE: Friday 12th of August/Saturday 13th of August OOC DATE: Friday 12th of August till Tuesday 16th of August PARTICIPATION: Mandatory (1 event thread) THREADS OUTSIDE OF EVENT: allowed! TAG TO USE: #fenrirprotection
…it’s the August’s Full Moon, and despite the recent murders, the day continues like usual. Or at least, it was supposed to. The Witches gathered in a ritual in small groups, asking the spirits for protection for themselves, the werewolves, and the inhabitants of Fenrir’s Wood. Afterwards some continue homeward, but most take to the city to keep the order, to spell those who might’ve seen a werewolf, and to keep the werewolves away from busy places.
It is then that several Witches pass out without warning. Seven witches in total fall into a deep trance, swept into a dream-like vision, all the same.
It starts with a circle in the middle of the woods, you’re sitting down on the ground, robed figures on either side, forming the circle with nothing in the middle. All robed figures are looking down, their faces hidden in the shadow of their hoods. You are also robed, and you can’t move from your spot. Something feels strange, you’re cold and getting colder. Then in the corner of your eye, you see one of the figures moving. But before the light of the moon shows their face, the dream morphs into the next.
A whirlwind of images flash in front of your eyes: two werewolves fighting, blood in a pool of water, a group of ducks wagging away from you, and several other images that you can’t remember when you wake up again.
And when you wake up... the protection spell has worn off.
The pairings for the event are below!
THE SEVEN:
OH CHUNG-AE DANTE CORTEZ DAVID “DAVY” MAJUMDAR ZHYAN SURI KAREEM BAKSH REZA HARRIS AXEL SULLIVAN
THE SITUATIONS:
KAREEM BAKSH, AXEL SULLIVAN, and DANTE CORTEZ only have questions. Many, many questions regarding what just happened. And how are they going to get out of the woods alive now? With dozens of Werewolves roaming around.
With the protection spells wearing off, ASLI OZACAR has ventured into the city, it’s near the end of the night, her wolf-form is bigger and scarier than normal wolves, and she’s starting to change back. But not before scaring ZACH QUINN shitless.
CHRISTOPHER ROMIJN and KHALIL HAKIM aren’t supposed to be out that late at night, but something has gotten their attention. Luckily for them, all they find is DILARA YILMAZ in dire need of some hot coffee and blankets. She looks awful though.
NISHANT DOSHI is the first to get out of the spell, turning back into his human form without much issue, but noticing that the night hasn’t gone to plan, he can barely see the moon, but he comes upon a two younger Werewolves who do need help, both having narrowly escaped the clutches of an angry farmer. ESMERAY YAMAN & LENNON DAVIES truly are in trouble now.
HELIA VAZ has noticed the strangeness in the air, and the first thing she does is run to help her fellow witches, hoping she can figure out what has happened. She comes upon DAVID “DAVY” MAJUMDAR.
LIRA LUZ AMORIM knows something is different, but she isn’t sure what exactly, it is by accident that she runs into one of the Witches who went into a fever dream. And ZHYAN SURI doesn't really make sense.
KADIR DUYMAZ has been plagued with nightmares, and he’s certain something is going to happen this full moon. His absence during the rituals is noted, but it doesn’t mean he’s not around. He finds a disorientated REZA HARRIS as the threat of the loss of their protection hangs over his head.
MALEE APINYA has teamed up together with YSABELLE SASTRE to figure out how to redo the protection spell and keep the werewolves within Grant Park, when they come upon OH CHUNG-AE, who seems worse for wear.
If not for ROXANNE “ROXY” ALLEYNE stepping in, SARA YOON would’ve been attacked by one of the werewolves making their way into Fenrir’s Wood. Neither of them seem to understand why the protection spells aren’t working anymore.

I'm still wrapping my head around Trump's decision 2 attack Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani's convoy
We can question why he was in Baghdad, but is his presence there a reason for killing him? No one can deny that Trump has had a 'hard on' for Iran. Like Venezuela, he has tried to put an economic squeeze on them, by freezing their assets & stifling their Oil flow. Now to be clear, Venezuela is a 'Player' in Latin America, but Iran is a 'Major Player' in The Middle East. The Trump Administration is naive to think they can use the same action in both areas w/ similar results- This is 2020, not 1980.
Iran has threatened 'great revenge' for the assassination of their Living Legend. Gen. Suleimani was a Rock Star to Iranians. What baffles me, is the timing of Trump's attack- what's the End Game? I fully understand that Trump promised to shake up the way Washington does business, but looking at his Foreign Policy moves over the last 3Yrs, we see:
Trump begins by disrespecting Mexico- essentially calling them Criminals, Murderers, & Rapists; before declaring that They will pay for his Border Wall.
He disrespects Palestinians, first by recognizing Jerusalem as the Israeli Capital & erecting an American Embassy there; then issues a statement that U.S. will no longer seek to sanction Israel for developing Settlements in the West Bank (see Kushner Cos).
He calls Afrikan, Caribbean, & Latin American Countries 'Shit Hole Countries'
He 'befriends' Kim Jung Un, making military concessions that threaten the security of S. Korea & Japan- in return for an empty promise of nuclear reduction & increased rocket testing.
He makes a fool of himself at Global Summits, by siding w/ Vladimir Putin & taking [cheap] shots at NATO Allies- takes U.S. out of Paris Accord & Iran Nuclear Deal.
He starts a 'Trade War' w/ China that hurts American Farmers & Swineherds; all while America owes China upwards of $5.2 Trillion
He sides w/ Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman (MBS) & Saudi Gov't in disappearance & apparent death & dismemberment of (American Citizen) Jamal Khashoggi- citing a $110B Arms Deal, based on Letters Of Intent.
He extorts Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to 'announce' investigation of Joe Biden's role in Hunter Biden's tenure at Burisma Holdings, in return for a White House visit & (release of) $391M in Military Aid.
He withdraws American Troops in Northern Syria & Iraq- abandoning Kurdish allies at the request of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, leaving them defenseless against a swift & brutal Turkish assault.
This last foreign policy move by the Trump Administration brings us current. Kurdish Soldiers were an invaluable ally to Iraqis in Northern Iraq & Syria. The Turkish assault on Kurdish Towns has destabilized the Region & forced Iraqi Troops to look elsewhere for support... Enter Iran. Iran was first to assist Iraq in the fight against ISIL/ISIS. Actually, Iran has been involved in Iraq since 2003. Iranian Popular Mobilization Forces, Kataeb Hezbollah in particular have been celebrated by Iraqis. Trump's attack on them, followed by the the assassination of Gen. Suleimani has people taking to the streets from Tehran to Baghbad.
I understand the Neo Conservative (NeoCon) conspiracy to overthrow Iran. It goes back to Reagan & Bush '41'; actually, it goes back to 1953 & the rise of Mohammad Reza (Khan) Pahlavi- The Former/Last 'Shah of Iran'. The Conservative view is, Iranian Popular Mobilization Forces are 'terrorist proxies' that have targeted U.S. interests in Iraq for years. The President has a Right to respond in kind! Americans have pretty short memories, but the Iranian memory is longer & more vivid.
The (overzealous) actions of the Trump Administration can be seen as 'poking the Tiger'. So far, Trump's rhetoric has succeeded in galvanizing the Iranian People to support their Government's stance of retaliation. Despite the sanctions, Iran [still] has a lot of Influence. Iran supplies the EU... Trump runs the risk of putting America into a Conflict w/o Global Support- is this what he meant by 'America First'?
I personally think this is deeper. Iran has worked w/ Iraqis of Shi'a/ Shiite descent since the fall of Saddam & the Baath Party. The lines of demarcation set up by European Colonizers are crumbling on a Global scale. Borders seem to be going back to their natural or Tribal lines. Assassinating Gen. Suleimani in Baghdad, where he was welcomed, only makes the Iraqi people reflect. America promised salvation from a brutal Dictator (Saddam Hussein), but delivered destruction of their Cities, Society, & Economy. Museums were raided & treasured artifacts were looted.
In the manner that Russia is claiming Ukraine, China is claiming territory from Hong Kong to Tibet, & the Taliban are claiming Afghanistan; I expect Iran to (eventually) claim the Shi'a dominated Cities of Iraq... I don't know what 'great revenge' Iran has in mind- Talking Heads forecast a Cyber assault. Judging from the flags being burned, it's safe to say that American, British, & Israeli ships in the Persian Gulf should be on notice.

A revised and expanded version of Putin Ain’t Such a Bad Guy (a Draft Colloquy on CIA) by the esteemed and indefatigable poet and political philosopher Carlo Parcelli:
"Once you accept the fact that the CIA blew Jack Kennedy’s head off like a barn door in a cyclone, Putin ain’t such a bad guy.
Once you know the CIA organized the slaughter of a million Indonesians in 1965 and the assassination of that country’s elected president, Sukarno, Putin ain’t such a bad guy.

Once you know the CIA ran a secret program funded in part by the Rockefeller and Ford foundations, to experiment with LSD on US citizens without their knowledge as well as research which included propaganda, brainwashing, public relations, advertising, hypnosis, and other forms of suggestion, all on their own people without their knowledge, Putin ain’t such a bad guy.
Once you know the CIA overthrew the elected president, Mohammed Mossadegh, in a coup in Iran in 1953 to secure that country’s oil and installed the Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and funded and trained his murderous secret police, SAVAK, Putin ain’t such a bad guy.

Once you understand the CIA in 1963 overthrew the democratically elected government of Juan Bosch again in the Dominican Republic because he favored modest land reform measures, Putin ain’t such a bad guy.
Once you realize that the CIA backed the tyrannical Somozas in Nicaragua and trained and funded their murderous death squads, Putin ain’t such a bad guy.
Once you admit that the CIA backed the despotic Duvalier’s in Haiti and trained and funded their murderous death squads, the Ton Ton Macoute, Putin ain’t such a bad guy.
Once you understand that the CIA backed the murderous ARENA party in El Salvador, were involved in the plot to kill 6 Jesuits, nuns and Archbishop Romero with death squads trained and funded by the US, Putin ain’t such a bad guy.

Once you understand the CIA ran dozens of front organizations used to spy on Americans in illegal violation of their charter, Putin ain’t so bad.
One you know The CIA’s man in Uruguay in 1969, Dan Mitrione, ran a torture campaign against the civilian population much like the Phoenix program in Southeast Asia and elsewhere, Putin ain’t so bad.

Once you realize that the CIA murdered their own former CIA director, Bill Casey, while he lay ill in his hospital bed the day before he was to testify before congress about CIA crimes, Putin ain’t such a bad guy.
Once you note that the CIA drowned another of its former Directors, Bill Colby, because he did testify somewhat candidly before Congress. Once you are aware that the CIA murdered one of John Kennedy’s lovers, Mary Meyer, on the tow path along the C&O Canal in Washington DC to shut her up about CIA crimes, Putin ain’t so bad.
Once you learn that the CIA gave Frank Olson LSD without his knowledge or consent and then when he became a ‘security risk’ pushed him out of a 13th story window of the Hotel Statler. Putin ain’t so bad.
Once you know that in 1963 the CIA murdered its own proxies, Diem and his brother, in Vietnam, Putin ain’t so bad.
Once you realize the CIA failed to predict the most important event of the Cold War, the Fall of the Soviet Union, Putin ain’t such a bad guy at all.
Once you know that the CIA worked closely with that homicidal pus bag, Henry Kissinger, Putin ain’t so bad.
Once you are aware that the CIA has ‘meddled’ in hundreds of democratic elections around the world, destabilizing, deposing, staging coups and killing elected officials they don’t like, Putin shouldn’t even be on your fuckin’ charts.
Once you realize Uncle Slimey’s CIA has a long and unbroken record of working with fascists, dictators, drug lords and state sponsors of terrorism in every region of the world in its elusive but relentless quest for unchallenged global power, Putin ain’t so bad.

“Say that again.”
“You found that today?”
Judge Berman’s double-take after a prosecutor told him about learning that morning about the apparently phony passport, art and diamonds stashed in Jeffrey Epstein’s $77M mansion.

Phony Epstein Passport, Plus Art and Diamonds, Unearthed
By Adam Klasfeld | Published July 15, 2019 | Courthouse News | Posted July 16, 2019 |
MANHATTAN (CN) – Just before attending a federal bail hearing, prosecutors learned new details about wealthy sex-offender Jeffrey Epstein’s murky assets and hidden passport that made the presiding judge do a double-take.
“Say that again,” a visibly surprised U.S. District Judge Richard Berman remarked. “You found that today?”
At a hearing this morning in Manhattan, Assistant U.S. Attorney Alex Rossmiller had just told the seasoned jurist what the government found stashed inside Epstein’s $77 million Upper East Side mansion.
“In connection with that factor, your honor, just this morning, the government became aware that in a locked safe in the defendant’s mansion there were piles of cash, dozens of diamonds, and a passport appearing to be issued from a foreign country with a photo of the defendant and a name on that passport that is not the defendant’s name,” Rossmiller said.
For Rossmiller, the discovery raised questions.
“Certainly, the first question for a defendant of this tremendous means is how much money does he have? Where is it? What are the accounts?”
Rossmiller said, referring to Epstein’s assets. “Is it in foreign accounts? How much is in diamonds or art? These are all details that would be necessary for the court to even begin to consider this type of application.”
Though the prosecutor did not specify the issuing country, Rossmiller added that the expired passport seized from Epstein listed the country of residence as Saudi Arabia.
U.S. District Judge Richard Berman noted that pretrial services supports Epstein’s continued detention as well.
“There is no condition or combination of conditions that will reasonably assure the appearance of defendant as required and the safety of the community,” Berman said, quoting from the agency’s report.
Toward the end of the proceedings, two new accusers, Alice Farmer and Courtney Wild, stepped forward with their attorneys to emphasize that they would be afraid if Epstein were released.
“He was inappropriate with me, and I would prefer not to go into the details about labeling that at this time,” an emotional Farmer said, her voice cracking.
Telling the judge that that she was 16 years old when she had the “misfortune” to meet Epstein, Farmer alleged she was flown out to his ranch in New Mexico, where the New York Times recentlyreported the tycoon had been able to avoid sex-offender registration for his Florida conviction.
Wild revealed more about her story.
“I was sexually abused by Jeffrey Epstein starting at the age of 14,” Wild declared.
“I would just like to ask the court to not grant him bond, to keep him in detention just for the safety of any other girls out there that are going through what I’m going through,” she continued. “It is a public case, and it’s just – he’s a scary person to have walking the streets.”
As with Epstein’s 2008 prosecution in Florida, the New York case paints a portrait of how Epstein’s enablers recruited his victims: Each would find an underage girl, often vulnerable or destitute, and offer cash to give the tycoon a massage that would turn sexual. One of the counts charge a sex-trafficking conspiracy, but no accomplices have yet been named.
Prosecutors say the girls were paid to lure others like them in a pyramid-like scheme that brought Epstein an untold number of victims, recently estimated by a federal judge in Florida to be more than 30.
Since Epstein’s latest arrest, that number has climbed with calls to the tip line 1-800-CALL-FBI. Its ranks are growing still, the government alleges. Reporting that more people have been calling in, Rossmiller said the investigation continues to “dramatically expand.”
One aspect of Epstein’s case that prosecutors have not been able to unravel, at least not publicly, is the contours of the sex-offender’s wealth. Prosecutors claim he makes $10 million per year on “whatever it is he does,” and a recent bail memo described an account linked to Epstein traced at least $500 million in self-reported assets to one unidentified bank.
“We’re just relying on the defendant’s word for all of this,” Rossmiller said, referring to Epstein’s assets.
Judge Berman, who previously allowed Epstein to file financial information under seal, also commented on the “lack of detail” in the sex offender’s “cursory” statement, the details of which he unsealed and made public after the proceedings.
Dated this June 30, the financial statement reported more than $559 million in total assets, comprised of more than $56 million in cash, $14 million in fixed income, $112 million in equities, $194 million in hedge funds and private equities and the remainder in real estate.
Berman did not take too much stock in those numbers.
“Respectfully, I don’t think that the financial summary tells me anything really,” the judge said. “For one thing, it’s some unverified list of assets, not audited, not certified, and not very detailed either.”
Years ago in the unrelated trial of Reza Zarrab, a gold trader who perpetrated the biggest money laundering scheme to Iran in U.S. history, the veteran jurist struck a blow against the phenomenon of well-heeled criminal defendants buying cushy bail packages.
The New York Times memorably described Zarrab’s requested bail package at the time as a “gilded cage,” a phrase echoed by the prosecution in describing Epstein request for armed guards to lock him up in his New York mansion.
For Berman, the arrangement smacked of a two-tiered system of justice for the rich and poor.
“Most importantly, the defendant’s privately funded armed guard proposal is unreasonable because it helps to foster inequity and unequal treatment in favor of a very small cohort of criminal defendants who are extremely wealthy, such as Mr. Zarrab,” Berman wrote in 2016.
Epstein’s attorney Martin Weinberg meanwhile complained about the difficulty his team has experienced trying to reach Epstein in the special housing unit of New York’s Metropolitan Correctional Center, where inmates are held in isolation.
“We need him released, judge,” Weinberg said. “This is an enormously challenging case for defense counsel.”
But Berman said the same could be said of defendant unable to afford a $500 or $1,000 bail in Rikers Island.
“Everybody has the right to consult with counsel,” the judge said.
Weinberg also referenced the window of the Epstein’s alleged conduct, from 2002 to 2005, saying his client has “disciplined” himself in the 14 intervening years.
Rossmiller scoffing at that assertion, arguing that the statement concedes that Epstein is predisposed to sexually abuse underage girls.
“The defendant keeps telling on himself here,” the prosecutor said.
Farmer, one of the victims who addressed the court, ridiculed Epstein’s supposed reform too.
“If he’s continuing to engage with pornography of young women, I would say that would be quite the opposite of ‘disciplining,’” Farmer said, referring to the stash of child pornography that authorities reported finding in his apartment.
Judge Berman, who is a licensed social worker, also pointed out there are studies indicating that a 14-year lapse between offenses is not particularly meaningful. Berman later released a U.S. government study showing that recidivism jumps from 5% after three years to 24% after 15 years.
Trying to distinguish his client Epstein from those offenders, Weingarten insisted: “It’s not like he’s an out-of-control rapist,” adding, “He doesn’t fit within the paradigm of many of the sex offenders that are the subject of the research that your honor is accessing.”
Unpersuaded, Berman pointed to Epstein’s record of eluding authorities.
“The question is: How do you know that?” the judge asked.
Epstein’s Florida prosecution collapsed in 2008 with a secret plea deal that allowed him to plead guilty to state-level charges of soliciting prostitution and serve out a light 13-month sentence with frequent work-release privileges. The deal insulated Epstein’s suspected accomplices from prosecution and did not inform his accusers in violation of the Crime Victims’ Rights Act.
In Florida, another federal judge is deciding whether the void that non-prosecution agreement for breaking the law.
That was hardly the only remarkably light treatment given to Epstein by authorities. Methodically considering the evidence, Berman pressed Epstein’s attorney on a recent New York Post report that the NYPD allowed the tycoon to skip judge-ordered check-ins. The judge said he will issue his ruling early Thursday morning in court.
“I will endeavor to finish by then and to be able to share with you my determination,” Berman said.

Afghanistan faces worst drought in decades
Internally displaced Afghan children and families who are the victims of the worst drought the country has seen in years, have been struggling in makeshift refugee camps on the outskirts of the Herat province for months. Between a sandy cliff and cracked riverbed on the edge of this small provincial capital, 380 families are camped in a cluster of hand-sewn, sun-bleached tents, waiting for rain and peace to let them return to their ancestral villages. But across drought-stricken, war-torn Badghis province in far-western Afghanistan, the wait will not end soon.
One of the camp occupants is Reza Gul, a widow in her early 30s with four young children. Three months ago, with little food left and Taliban fighters harassing security posts near their village, she abandoned her only valuable possessions — a pair of donkeys — and fled in a rented truck. Now the family shares a tiny tent, where Gul shells pistachios all day with a small hammer, a chore for which local merchants pay about 50 cents a day. “It is hard here, but it is harder at home. I can’t go back,” said Gul, who supported her family by harvesting wheat and melons after her husband died of cancer. “When the river dried up, we used wells, but now they are dried up, too. The fighting goes on and on, and we are caught in the middle. Winter is coming soon, and this is the only shelter we have.”
Gul is among 120,000 people in Badghis who have sought refuge here in the past several months, according to a new report from the U.N. humanitarian agency for Afghanistan, nearly doubling the number of drought-displaced people in the far-western part of the country to some 250,000. Chronic drought, the result of a severe lack of rain and snowfall in many recent years, has now spread to 20 of the country’s 34 provinces, where nearly 15 million people depend on agriculture. This year, aid officials said, nearly 45 percent of Afghans are facing food shortages due to drought and other factors, a sharp increase from 33 percent last year. Close to a half-million have been receiving emergency food aid since July, and officials plan to assist at least 1.4 million as winter approaches. The worst-hit areas are five northwestern provinces, where more than 300,000 people received extra food aid last month, and conditions in Badghis are especially desperate.
“This is the epicenter of food insecurity and drought,” Zlatan Milisic, country director for the World Food Program, said during a recent visit to the camps outside Qaleh-ye Now, where the agency is providing wheat flour, cooking oil and other food staples. He noted that poor farmers in this desolate region of low brown hills depend almost exclusively on rain to irrigate their crops. Last winter, aid officials reported, precipitation was so low in Badghis that the wheat harvest this spring fell by 60 percent. Aid officials hope to persuade some of the displaced families to return to their villages by offering to send extra aid there. They worry that the newcomers will overwhelm towns with no facilities for them and become too dependent on donations at a time of dwindling foreign support.
“Morally, we can’t stop aiding them” in the urban camps, Milisic said. But he stressed that with similar help at home, they have a much better chance of recovering. In one of several tent colonies perched on the hillside fringes of Qaleh-ye Now, conditions last week seemed precarious indeed. Tents made of torn blankets and canvas were tied to poles and weighted down with rocks. They were tightly packed on the hard ground, some just inches apart, with nothing inside but sleeping mats and cooking utensils. There were no sanitation facilities except a few latrines. Camp leaders said between 1,500 and 2,000 displaced people were living there. Children swarmed everywhere, with little to do but carry plastic jugs from a visiting water tank truck. New mothers swung infants in flour-sack cradles. Food and medical aid seemed adequate, and no one complained of hunger or pain. People who spoke with a visiting reporter said they missed their villages but no longer felt they would be safe or able to survive there.

Anyone who has put on a successful event knows that the smoother it looks, the more filled it was with planning, strategizing, delegating, and all the ings. That is to say, there is what happens before an audience, and what happens behind closed doors and/or around the boardroom table. The same is often true for writers, artists, and creatives who set up to sell or share work. I've been writing a good deal about my behind-the-scenes process, but for Day 28, I am excited to share details about some in-person, patron-driven events I will be part of. Details about both are below, but if you happen to be there, or are curious, I will have my normal 3 AM IS THE NEW BLACK vending set-up and "mobile studio," which includes stickers, bookmarks, postcards with and without pre-written poems, and my typewriter set-up for those requesting on-the-spot, original greeting cards and poems. I am excited to announce that I will ALSO be sharing links, QR codes and "coupons" for the new 3 AM IS THE NEW BLACK online store. The new store houses tee-shirts, hoodies, bags, pouches, and even a custom-designed yoga mat! I also have e-book versions of some of my poetry collections, including Las Canciones de la Sirena/Siren Song. To peruse - and purchase - visit https://bit.ly/3OkyedM. THE SETUP🥀
Two separate parties are travelling down the long Shespin Road in the outskirts of Talornia, a relatively quiet long expanse of land within the kingdom that is the most well-known travel route from the capital city of Sharden across the border towards the green glades. The environment mainly small forests dotted around the long rolling plains, the landscape is quite flat outside the larger mountains seen in the distance, it is becoming cool and chilly as dusk comes.
On your travels you come across a large looking inn that has an inviting atmosphere off the side of the road, it is quickly turning dusk and after a while on the road it is welcome respite. You enter, one group a little before the other, and decide to spend the rest of the evening in the surprisingly full and busy tavern...

> 🎵 Slingshot / Gaelic Storm
Split up into their separate groups the parties travel down the rainy Shespin Road just as dusk begins to hit, taking in the gloomy atmosphere, they notice a nearby small inn just off the roadside and tired from travel, shuffle in to take respite. First to arrive are the travelling musicians who take a table and begin a colourful and loud conversation in the middle of the crowded inn.
Mari: THERE IS NO REASON WE CANT BE NAMED THE PUSSYCAT WORMS Ash: FOR THE LAST TIME, WE ARE NOT GOING WITH THIS Finley: are these guys alright...
We continue with the hired hands grabbing their own table nearby and through very obvious accidental eavesdropping and being forced into it by Mari, joining in on conversation (argument??) with them.
Mari: IM GETTING ANOTHER OPINION Ash: oh no Sagessa: oh i love to give opinions Vernalis: I GOT IT, MILLENNIUM PUSSY
Revelry continues as the groups order food and slowly try to set about a coup to displace the band that is already playing on the stage, the inn slowly becoming more crowded and inviting, almost suspiciously considering the isolated location. The musicians reveal that they are also travelling with cages of worms, pets of Ash and Cin who were previously worm farmers, and fellow musicians talented enough that they can play some of the instruments, ceremoniously revealing the hook to their group to various deflated reactions from the other group. As time passes Vernalis casts Divine Sense on a whim, revealing a sudden sense of creeping dread nearby, draping a uncomfortable feeling now over the evening. During this Cin attempts to intimidate the bar-owner into letting Ecarte play on the stage instead of the already booked group (he is unsuccessful).
Cin: i look to ash for help Ash: i laugh really loud "GOD YOU SUCK, CIN... hold my beer"
Vernalis: Oh don't worry about it, I'm sure its nothing! Vernalis: ... Vernalis: i take it bad there's unde- *whispers* undead Mari: WHAT DO YOU MEAN UNDEAD
The groups confer as Cin debates with the bartender and makes eyes towards his sister like a kicked cat, and Sagessa casts Detect Magic revealing to her a strange fog pulsing with magic that seems to hang over the place.
Sagessa: there's a strange magic in the air in here, but i can't tell where it's coming from bc it's just, everywhere Ecarte: *quietly* Do you think this is related to what we're looking for? Sagessa: quite possibly. this place is drawing so many people in and no one seems to want to leave
The conversation continues and the group agrees to start investigating (their only real option being to ask around at the moment). Mari casts Prestidigitation in the middle of the conversation, blowing all the torches within the room out, to angry complaints until the band light a few near the stage and begin playing again to loud applause.
The gang splits off to begin conversing with inngoers, beforehand however the siblings seem to get into some sort of dumb fight and begin angrily huffing at each other - Vernalis goes to engage the blue tiefling near the bar in conversation, they act guarded the entire conversation, though reveal they are waiting for someone, Mari crawls under the stage and finds lots of dust, Finley attempts (key word being attempts) to engage the grump drunk grey tiefling in conversation, Sagessa goes to engage the two mercenaries in their drunk revelmaking nearby blending in amazingly. Ecarte makes to speak to cin about not being able to play anymore but waits awkwardly until the siblings notice his presence.
Ash: i cross my arms at cin "tch JUST LISTEN TO YOURSELF BE A MESS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR BOYFRIEND RIGHT THERE" Cin: "MY B- my boyfriend? huh?" i suddenly notice ecarte "oh.." Ecarte: ^__^???
Eventually Ash smashes her cup on the floor, whether or not it was because she was drunk will forever be unknown, Cin goes to pay the bar-owner for it in after the bar-owner and Vernalis yells someone better be paying for it, partly in an attempt to make up for his prior failed intimidation. Ecarte goes off to attempt to speak to the band to begin his own investigation. In the meantime Mari makes her way outside the inn from a side door into the dark recently rained on grounds outside, investigating the stables nearby noting they are empty and spying a bush of bright white small blowers growing outside a nearby shack behind the inn. At the same time Vernalis discovers the name of the blue tiefling is “Estas”
As she rounds the back of the inn Mari finally spots something, a dead body in the mud face down outside in the dark.
as you peer at the body the closer you get the sinking feeling of dread pools in your stomach, you cant get much aside from it looks like its been here for a week? longer? it looks human
Mari makes a dash back inside the inn making a beeline for Vernalis to scream about what she discovered, eventually the two make their way back out together to investigate (an attempt to be covert about it was made).
Vernalis: Mari dont worry about it, I'm sure it'll be fine. You definitely cant be the murderer Mari: YOU ARE RIGHT BUT NOT PUT IT LIKE THAT
As the others continue their investigations and conversations (and ash and cin their argument over nothing with each other) the two crouch over the body and Mari goes to touch the body. As soon as she does everyone feels time stop.

The party stops moving and a sense of dread and terror washes over each of them before their vision darkens and blurs, they all wake up at the start of the evening again, the hired hands having just walked through the inn doors.
Shaken up by this sudden reversal, they all quickly regroup and clutch each other scared out of their wits, before looking down at their hands and seeing a bright blue symbol now emblazoned across the back. In a soft glowing blue a small flower sits within a circle, few of them are able to identify it immediately as a Lily of the Valley. The hired hands conclude that this is most likely the phenomenon they were put forth to investigate, and go off to converse with the inn-goers on whether or not they all just felt the shift in time as well. Mari begins sobbing that its her fault.
Ecarte goes to ask the blue tiefling her name, she reveals it to be Estas once again. He then goes to the mercenaries and asks them theirs, they call themselves Erik and Riza. Cin goes to question patrons as well, heading to the bar-owner and asking her if their past transgressions are settled, to which she replies that she doesn't know what hes talking about. At the same time Finely takes stock of the room and as she looks around she notices that it seems no one other than them realised time stopped and reversed. Her, Sagessa, Vernalis, Mari and Ash make their way outside again to go investigate, telling Ecarte to follow once he is done.
As Ecarte continues to attempt to gather names, he finds out the band is called The Azure Reeds and their members named “Argot, Marina, Reza and Horace”.
Cin: no one seems to be aware of anything.. we should go catch up with the others. have you seen It yet? Ecarte: I haven't...I'm not really sure if iI want to. Ecarte: and at the band i yell “THANK YOU” AND I AM VISIBLY SCARED
The ladies once outside notice now that outside above and around them is a large dark teal dome barrier of magic pulsing, containing the inn and its surroundings. Mari attempts to identify is before giving up and crying for ash to figure out what is going on with it.
As you stare at the barrier around the area ash you feel something sad well up inside you, when you look through it the surrounding area beyond it appears warped and distorted you have a hard time remembering what it looked like, the barrier seems strong, your not sure what would happen if you touched it.
Soon after Cin and Ecarte rush out of the inn as well, Ecarte more flustered than Cin, deducing that the missing people they were tasked to find are the people in the inn.
Ecarte: THE PEOPLE WE'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR""ARE HERE" Finley: WHAT Ecarte: IN THIS BAR, THE BAR, TH, THE B, TH EBBB
Sagessa: i rub cirlces into his hand to try andd soothe him Finley: uhhh....... what were their names again?
Ecarte: The piano player is Argot Hetrop! And I think that teal tiefling sitting near the bar is Estas Marigold? Finley: hmm...... maybe that guy i talked to earlier is gray? Sagessa: there's a very good chance, eclair!!! you found them!!!! wonderful job!
Vernalis: i whisper to cin "some mystery stuff goin on here" Cin: whispers back to verny "you got that right"
As the three continue, Ash and Mari return to where the others stand discussing this, Ash advising them to not touch the barrier and that it seems dangerous for them to try and force their way out, stuck for the time being.
The group turn their attention now towards the body and begin to check it over, Ash senses nothing magical from it and gives the go ahead.
as you thoroughly examine the body it seems decomposed for a few weeks time, the cause of death seems to be from nothing external, the face from what is left of it looks withered, its also covered in mud and slime from the rain, its gross

> 🎵 Town In Chaos / Darkest Dungeon OST
As the group confer on what to do next, behind them they suddenly see the inn going up in flames and fire, cries and shouts start to sound off from the inside as it climbs the building. The group shocked, rush back towards the inn and break down a door to make their way inside to a grizzly scene, the overcrowding of the inn making it hard for anyone to get out while cries of terror reverberate throughout the building. Without warning a banister falls blocking the path back out behind them trapping them. Before they can react, a high pitched scream is heard and a part of the ceiling suddenly caves in on the group. Before it can hit them however once again, they feel time stop.
The adrenaline rushing in their ears stops as a feeling of grief washes over them all and they lose consciousnesses, waking up again at the start of the evening, with the hired hands standing at the door, the musicians at their table. the inn back to its regular loud revel making atmosphere.
The group immediately split off still shocked, to interrogate the patrons of the inn, Cin angrily demands the bar owner explains the strange flowers outside the inn near the shack, Finely runs over to ask the drunk tiefling if his name is gray, he angrily says it is, while the bar owner laughs as if she doesn't even properly register Cin’s anger, nor the question he asked her.
At the same time Sagessa approaches Estas and asks her if shes a priest of pelor, to which she confusedly replies that estas is her name but she has never been devout. Similarly Finley asks Gray about if he ever got the package he was meant to deliver to Sharden, he says he doesn't know what shes talking about.
@ Finley > as you say that his face seems to register a reaction for a second before you feel something shift in the air and his face snaps back to the regular grumpy demeanour @ Sagessa > as you ask the question the tiefling pauses for a moment and you feel something shift in the air before she responds
Cin gives up questioning the bar-owner after angrily showing her the symbol on his arm and her still not properly responding to him, Ecarte attempts to get the band attention by yelling the name ‘The Hops’ but none of them respond to him (he is crushed by embarrassment). The group slowly gather there is a connection between what is going on here and these strange flowers (probably).
Ash attempts to crouch into the kitchen before immediately being seen by the barhand and ushered away, afterwards her and Cin discuss if they should try and intimidate the bar patrons with their worm cages (???). Ecarte and Finely group up and decide to go investigate the inn interior. As the two enter the washroom they see another door to a store room connecting off of it, and as they open it up they see there laying on the ground and against the barrels, two more bodies.
Finley: Σ(゜ロ゜;) Ecarte: ΣΣΣΣΣΣΣ(゜ロ゜;)
Ecarte begins screaming which Sagessa hears, she rushes off to the room soon after them. Mari and Vernalis at the same time have made their way outside in an attempt to find another way into the kitchen, from the bustling main inn floor Ash and Cin fail to hear Ecarte’s screams of panic, and decide to go outside and look for where Mari and Vernalis went (fave).
The four of them attempt to break the outside door to the kitchen down as they other three try to keep from panicking before they stare at the bodies for a few seconds longer, realising that the bodies look exactly like Argot and Riza, one wearing his blue cloak and the other her armour.
Ecarte: ECARTE IS SCREAMING AGAIN Finley: AHHGHHHHGFHHGH Sagessa: YOU TWO REALLY OUGHT TO STOP MAKING A RUCKUS
The other group bust the door down with ease, however instead of the kitchen come across what look likes another larger store room, large crates and chests piled around with sacks against the wall. Strangely all the food they find in the crates and bags looks like its been rotting for months, maybe even years. The group makes their way back outside, attempting to break into the other door that seemingly leads into the kitchen, while the others debate on whether or not the people in the inn are impersonating the dead bodies.
Before the outside group can make their attempt, they notice the licks of flame going up the outside of the inn, a fire has started enveloping the building again.
The group on the inside see smoke suddenly coming up from under the door of the room theyre in, before they can make a break back to the main inn floor, a flaming beam comes careening down in front of them, blocking them in the room. Slowly the building begins creaking and coming apart as people inside panic, the trio trapped begin chocking on smoke and effectively suffocating slowly. The group outside desperately attempts the break a door down to get back inside to no avail.
Slowly you all start choking on the smoke you can feel yourselves dying in the heaviest sense. You look up and the ceiling see the ceiling finally cave in on you, once again you feel time Stop once again.
The party feels time loop again, losing consciousnesses and waking up at the start of the evening for the 3rd time.
The group deduces that once they are put in a situation that guarantees their deaths, the time stop effect kicks in. Both groups then go on to discuss their individual findings, pointing out the people in the inn are the bodies that they keep finding, but also that the people in the inn also act like that they dont know who they are. Estas for example not stating that she is a cleric of pelor but simply someone who is waiting for her mother. Debating on whether or not they should warn the patrons about the fire or not, the group deduces that they should first investigate the kitchen, where the fire seems to start.
Vernalis also wonders what would happen if they showed the people in question their own corpses. The group decides they should split into two groups, one to investigate the kitchen and one to warn people about the fire, however they dont fully get a chance to act on this plan
Once Vernalis throws the body of Argot onto the inn floor, everyone in the inn stops what they are doing all at once and stares at her.
as soon as you throw the body through the bathroom doors and it hits the floor, everyone in the bar looks at you for a split second and you feel unsafe, before anything happens, suddenly all of you feel time stop once again, the feeling comes over you again and you go unconscious
Time stops and loops for the fourth time, the party begins to panic, and try and formulate a new plan.
Mari: .... well that was fruitless Finley: SOMETHING IS KEEPING THIS PLACE THE WAY IT IS Ecarte: THIS IS NOT MAKING ME HAPPY :((( Cin: okay that didn't work out so well... maybe we should have a team check out the kitchen and the other can check out the shack outside
Giving up on warning the patrons the party splits to investigate the kitchen and the shack outside, next to the strange flowers. The tieflings group up (fire based immunity reasoning here) and take on the kitchen as the rest head for the shack.
The kitchen group notes that the only rooms in this place that seem like they are alive or in use are the inn floor and the washroom, the difference being strange wen entering other rooms, almost as if they were stepping through time.
The shack team break down the door to the shack and discover what looks like seems to be a small living quarters, inside they discover dust, barrels and another body. Finley investigates the body, who seems in their last moments chose to die laying in the bed of the room. Sagessa investigates the room that branches off of it finding a small storeroom and within it another body on the ground, she identifies the person as Estas and says a small prayer for them, before heading back to the main room as Finley calls for her. Before she can however she feels something try and tug at her mind
sagessa once you say that prayer you feel something try and take hold of your mind, you hear a whisper in your ears, but you are able to shrug it off, you sense something about this storeroom is off
Mari and Vernalis continue investigating the shacks main room finding nothing, they all determine that the bodies have similar looks to all the other they have found, withered and no external wounds. Slowly they all start to realise that they are slowly growing hungry as well. Mari makes a suggestion to burn down the flowers outside. Once Sagessa leaves the storeroom she lets the others know of what she just experienced
Sagessa: something tried to take over my mind just now, when i said a prayer Finley: something tried to wat Mari: Q_Q
At the same time the team in the kitchen sit and wait for the fire to start, hopefully deducing its source. After a time they see a blue spark of fire in the centre of the room appear and float slowly there for a few moments, before it explodes in size. Ash out of reflex attempts to cast a cone of ice at it but ends up blasting cin in the face along with the flame.
it hits the fire and it blinks briefly but the blue flame sparks back to life, that same shifting feeling some of you felt when peoples faces changed earlier you feel on the fire
the kitchen team attempts to make a run from the kitchen before they can become trapped in the room, but in the shock and confusion end up running into each other and the counters of the kitchen in a panic.
Finley: i wonder how the kitchen team's doing :-) Vernalis: They're so competent :)! Finley: my good friend's in there and he's the best, everything must be completely under control Vernalis: they're so brave and fire resistant :)! Mari: ash and cin are like family to me there is no one something bad is going to happy to them ;)
They make an attempt to bumble their way out of the door but keep knocking into each other and they end up wasting to much time, the fire reaching the door outside blocking their exit and trapping them
Ash: nice we're all dead
The team outside see the flames begin to lick up the side of the building again once more, mari makes a break to the flowers and starts pouring a flask of oil over them before throwing a torch on top, trying to set the whole thing aflame, the others all attempt to bust the door down for the kitchen team to get out, but the damage seems to make the ceiling almost cave in faster. As Mari watches the flames burn the ground and die out she sees that everything around the flowers except the flowers burned eerily.
The two teams desperately beat on the outside to try and get to the kitchen team failing to think of anything to save them, eventually the ceiling caves in once again, but before it crushes them time stops again. Starting them back at the beginning of the evening shell shocked and adrenaline pumping through their veins.
Ecarte: ECARTE IS STILL SCREAMING and then he's like Ecarte: Oh. We're back.. Sagessa: I GATHER ALL 6FT OF HIM INTO MY ARMS
Ash: i am hyperventilating at this point Cin: ash are you okay? Ash: yeah, yeah i'm fine, i regain my composure
Sagessa: I'm just apologising over and over that i couldn't save him, even tho he's okay now Ecarte: i just pat sagessa's head and say "it's alright"
The group sit for the time being and lick their wounds, debating on what course of action they should take next to get them out of this nightmare. The first thing now on their minds the unsettling flowers.
SECOND SESSION - 8/7/18 🥀🥀
Returning back to this mess of a night, the group splits up to investigate three things, the stables, the storeroom in the shack and the strange rubble outside of the inn. Vernalis and Mari investigate the stables but dont find anything off about it, aside from the fact that there are no horses considering the amount of patrons that are currently in the inn.
Ash and Cin go towards the rubble that is half separated by the barrier around them doing their best to investigate what exactly it is, realising they are graves
the series of stones, are a small set of graves. There seem to be….10 of them, placed around the area. You can make out a few names on some, you get “tess, harry and gezzert…” the others to faded or warped to read.
Sagessa, Ecarte and Finley go to investigate the storeroom closer than the others did the last time, a feeling of dread still lingering in the room, after moving around the crates and various junk in the room they discover a strange hatch that seems to lead down, as they open and look at it all they see is a rickety ladder and blackness, it unnerves them. They all decide to regroup and report their findings
Mari: they stables were empty... not even a single horse corpse Vernalis: a horpse if you will Ecarte: horpse...got it...*nodding*
everyone gives a sad chuckle
they decide for this loop to wait outside and watch the inn burn down to see what exactly happens. Uncomfortably they listen to the cries and screams and watch the building slowly crumble in on itself, suddenly hearing a high pitched scream and a strange shattering noise before they feel time stop, looping once again, waking up at the start of the evening once more. Vernalis perceives that the shattering sound resembled something like jewellery snapping and breaking.
The group surveys the inn for anyone wearing jewellery and picks out a few people of interest, Mari approaches the bar owner to ask if she know anything of the flowers but gets a non response and a smile. At the same time Sagessa tries to goad Gray into a conversation with her. Cin approaches the bar owner as well and asks her if she knows if a Harry is staying here to which similarly to before, her face seems to register it for a second before shifting again and saying shes never heard the name before. Cin continues however and mentions that he saw the name on the graves outside.
The music stops and suddenly her face shifts, everyone in the inn stares at you all at once, their faces blank before you feel time stop again
Time loops again and the group wake up at the start of the evening, cin apologises. The group decides instead to investigate all of the rooms upstairs and make their way to the second floor. There are 6 rooms in total, they decide to split across the floor and open the doors all at the same time. They open the doors on the count of three, and in a string of eerie luck the doors Mari and Ecarte open contains one more dead body each. Their yelling causes Sagessa, Finley and Vernalis to run over to help, Ash and Cin continue to investigate the rooms they chose.
Looking at the bodies they identify them as Marina’s and Erik’s as they look about the two rooms noting that they look older than the others, similar to when they step outside going through the door almost feels like they're stepping through time.
Ash investigates her room, finding it looking lone and empty but discovers a note near a bag on the table
The note reads “to my dearest Tess, I am sorry we have been apart for so long but I will see you soon, keep that medallion close to your chest and no harm will come to you. I will find you again in 3 days on the long Shespin Road, I cannot wait to see you again – Your Loving Mother, Imona”
Cin attempts to investigate his room, he takes note that there are instruments about making it most likely to belong to the band, but checking under the bed he also slams his head and almost passes out. Ash later comes to help him, as they search about inside one of the chests they find some sort of flyer for the band.
The Azure Reeds, debut in Sharden – 20th of Rahtumna at dusk in the Billowing Pines, below that are the band member’s names written in “Harry Derringer, Cerulean, Brax and Ardun” the illustration the four band members does not look like the four downstairs, its makes you feel unconformable looking at it.
Cin pockets a flute from the bands room and hands it ash as a gift. Finley and Sagessa go to investigate the another of the rooms and inside immediately find bottles of booze stacked all around, they determine it is Gray’s room. When they examine one of the bags they find a note inside that’s been crumpled up somewhat.
In the bag you find few personal affects, clothing and trinkets, you find a note that reads “if you fuck this up again Coborn it’ll be your head not mine – Kren” angrily scrawled on some paper
Ash and Cin go towards the final room to investigate it and find scattered about weapons and personal effects, determine it is the room of the mercenaries. On the desk they find notes from their group, The Red Hoods.
One reads throughout “Bodyguard request from Shespin Road, TO BE FULFILLED - cattle and livestock shipment x3 – Assigned hands – Korok, Henriette, 2500 gold upon destination reached – signed RH”
The Gang regroup after all their investigation and one by one report their findings to one another. Sagessa slowly realises that whoever Tess is, that they are currently taking on the form of Estas, through the mention of the mother. Doppelgangers of some kind, this probably applies to every other patron in the inn as well. They decide for the rest of the loop to wait upstairs on the landing an watch what certain patrons do once the fire starts.
Eventually as they watch the fire go the landing underneath them begins to slowly crumble and they have to quickly begin running down it lest they fall down to the first floor. As a group they are pretty dexterous and manage to get a good way down while still watching the main floor, but Ash trips and starts crumbling off the side of the burning balcony. Cin turns and rush to grab her hands but his strength actually begins sending them both careening off the side, Finely goes to grab him afterwards with Vernalis holding her back.
Ash: I WILL TAKE YOU TO HELL WITH ME Cin: twins die together peace out Mari: [JUST HUDDLED IN A CORNER CRYING AND NOT LOOKING]
In a fit of quick thinking Cin casts levitate on Ash while still holding onto her and slowly start floating over the burning debris while everyone else continues squishing down the right side of the balcony.
From her new vantage point with her brother dangling off of her, though uncomfortable, Ash is able to see the whole room clearly. She spots Gray crushed under the left side of the building and nearby Estats huddled under a table. Before any of them can do anything else they see a piece of the ceiling fall over her and the same high pitched scream and snap and time stops again.
Figuring they've found all they can out about the fire, the group resolves themselves and heads towards the hatch in the shack’s storeroom, making their way down into the depths.
cin you bash your head on a rock
Ash: HOW MANY TIMES U GONNA BASH UR HEAD TODAY EH? Cin: SHUT UP

They reach the bottom one by one of a large warped cavern with bright blue pools dotted around it and a tunnel leading out to the side.
As you continue through the cavern you see along the warped architecture, a pile of bones littered on the floor, another body it seems. As you look about theres a pool of water in the cave seem to move and lick, eerily they seem to almost resemble the flicking and movement of fire.
The melding of the taverns architecture with that of the cave is reminiscent to a game glitch and does not loo natural at all. The body they find they determine is the halfing’s from the size. slowly as they stand around and examine this cavern small little balls of flaming light slowly surround them, Vernalis reaches out and touches one, causing a shock to go through her entire body. They are will o wisps and they have become hostile.
The party readies themselves and begin to dispatch the wisps one by one, during the battle cin suggests to one of them that they target the other blue tiefling instead of him (hilariously)
Ash: >Ash will remember that. Cin: jhBNV&UFNGHIGMFHJH;JK
Ash: i'll just ass blast cin again right here then run back out the hatch im out of here
Ash: i just give cin a stink eye as that wisp moves to me tbh Cin: i pretend not to notice
Vernalis finishes the last of them off with a divine smite before the party decides to continue moving forward after healing themselves somewhat.
Cin: cins face heats up just a little “Thank you... wanna check out the rest here with the others? we should be safe for now” Ecarte: you're welcome, also yeah we can go Finley: IS THIS A DATE FELLAS Ash: you can sense my fuming anger from 10 ft away cin
Vernalis: standing between the twins :/ Finley: vern is the auspistice Vernalis: DONT YOU HOMESTUCK ME
Sagessa: i hold onto like a bit of finley's sleeve as i follow behind her
The party continues down the warped cave and find another body slouched against a couple of barrels at the end end of a branching tunnel, they are grossed out for perhaps the 8th time today. After examining it they determine that it is the body of another halfing, decomposed like the rest.
From here they find two branching tunnels, they hear a soft noise echoing down the one to the right and begin arguing about which direction to head down first.
Cin: we should split up Vernalis: we shouldn't split up, and you're grounded whatever that means. so no levitating Finley: omg.... are you their mom?
Ash: tch i'm going wherever cin is not going Cin: i dont care where ash is going. im going left
Mari: WHO CARES ANYMORE WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE HERE !
Vernalis: ASH AND MARI WHERE DO YOU TWO THINK YOU'RE GOING Mari: TO DIE !!!!!!
Sagessa: i whisper to finley "should we do smth” Ecarte: what's happening?
After the twins spit venom at each other and ash and mari begin walking down the right chamber the party all decide follow after screaming “I DONT THINK WE SHOULD SPLIT UP” for the 6th time, cin decides to stay far near the back at the very least.
As they slowly walk down the tunnel the soft noise gets louder until it begins to sound like a muffled sobbing noise, and they see a very bright blue light near the end of it as the tunnel turns off towards a larger open cavern. The further they go the more the sobbing almost begins to sound distorted. As they all peek their heads in they see a big lake and a being in the middle of it.
As you enter the large cavern you hear a soft sobbing that reverberates throughout the cavern, in the middle of the water you see a bright blue being, bright blue and ethereal hunched over and sobbing. Its form flitting about and changing like a strong wind is being blown at a set of cloaks.
The party quickly decide to slink back into the tunnel and not approach it (yet) and walk all the way back the tunnel they came.
Ash: WE JUST WALK BACKWARDS Finley: yeeah Vernalis: YEAH
The party diverts down the other tunnel, this time taking the left and coming acorss a much smaller cave opening towards a tiny cavern with another small lake, this time they find another dead body laying beside it. They do not approach as they spot another wisp within the cavern and see what they can from further down the tunnel, Ash determines it is the body of the half elf Reza.
The party pull back down the tunnel to the cavern where the paths branch again to gather themselves and decide how they will go about confronting the ghost over the big lake.
THIRD SESSION - 13/8/18 🥀🥀🥀
The party discusses what they know so far about what is happening in the inn and determine that the ghost in the cavern must be the ghost of the girl names Tess, who is currently impersonating Estas upstairs. They go back down to the right cavern to confront her, though while they're debating on how to speak to the ghost, Cin decides to stroll out first, causing everyone else to start panic yelling for about 5 seconds.
Sagessa: when i hear cin rush in there i like, reach out my hands like i'm gonna catch him to stop him but like stop halfway bc i know it's futile Ecarte: if i had the slots to spare i would've used hold person on cin just to prevent that decision Finley: damn had cin known that his conviction to run in woulda been higher
The ghost comes into full view, bright white eyes and an aura of grief surrounding it, almost looking like it has tears stained upon its face. Cin stands there for about 2 minutes while everyone is scream whispering at him what to say before Sagessa gives up and walks out as well, calling the name Tess, to which Cin also says after she does.
The two begin their double effort on talking to the ghost and attempting to figure out why are trapped there and if its the ghost fault, and also to let them go. They note that there is a medallion around her neck. Cin continuously attempts to get closer by stepping near the lake before everyone calls him an idiot.
- it looks over at the entrace of the cave where the rest of you are crowded and stares at you all, you feel more than one set of eyes on your backs. Sagessa: i throw an unapproving look at at yall before turning back to tess Finley: HHHGHOHH Mari: [NAUSEUA INDUCING]
The ghost continues to state that she knows something bad is going to happen but she does not know what and that she needs help, but the only way for them to help is to stay here and wait and it will eventually stop because her mother will come get them eventually.
Ecarte examines the cavern while they speak and sees that the walls near them look like they're shifting ever so slightly, Mari barfs on Finley’s shoes. Cin attempts to skip a rock on the pool while Sagessa attempts to continue conversing with her, the rock stops before it hits the water and a hostile air is pointed at Cin, he backs off nervously.
As the conversation goes on the ghost seems to be getting more riled up, however Cin shows it the tattoos on their hands and it seems to calm it briefly and it drifts closer to him, he continues to hold it up.
Mari: sacrifice urself cin dw Cin: im gonna die laughing if he does from this
Cin begins to back off slowly as it gets closer and the ghost seems to shift attitudes stating they all need to stay here if they want to fix this, they have to wait, Sagessa attempts to say that they can go look for her mother instead before Cin says that her mother isnt coming.
Cin: look you've been staying here for some time and i think your mothers just not coming, you cant keep trapping people here against their will. let us go and everyone else too. its over. you know that deep down Sagessa: i tried so hard Ecarte: *thinking* after i said not to piss her off... u__u Vernalis: YIKES Mari: YIKES Finley: oh no
as you speak you feel the sensation of being watched come back full force the more you go on, the ghost stares at you but its face contorts, its arms go back to clutch its head "i dont know what this is i dont know what to do we have to wait its the only thing we can do" its voice begins distorting as it moves backwards across the lake, the cavern around you begins shifting unnaturally more so than before
Cin’s words finally set her off and she moves back into the cavern slowly clutching her head before releasing that same scream that they have heard before this.
The ghost begins to scream, ghastly and otherworldly, grief ridden and distorted, as it screams the cavern shifts around you melding more into a cacophony of line and shape, you feel yourselves begin to grow nauseous, your vision blurring, your heart racing.
You open them again and you are in the inn, broken and old and ashy and forgotten and terrifying, you see it briefly flashing between the brightly light interior before and the crumbling remains you see now quickly.
In front of you is the same ghost, unmoving, floating in front of you “you are un-needed you are unhelpful you are unwanted I despise you I despise you I despise this, I will crush this all” and around you all at once the rest of the patrons appear, ghostly blue and burning, their faces stock straight and unmoving, they bear the looks they stole but they are done acting the night out. You are not safe anymore.

The group ready themselves for combat in the scattered remains of the broken down inn, one by one working to take down the spectres of the other patrons and the ghost of Tess.
Mari: I ALREADY PUKED DO I HAVE IMMUNITY Ecarte: WHY ARE YOU VOMITING SO MUCH Ash: YALL HERE FUCK?
At the start of the battle Tess reveals a macabre face within her form in attempt to terrify the party, It ends up chilling Finley and Cin to their core and causing them to fumble throughout the fight. The initial aura she gives off also seems to start....aging them slowly, both Cin and Finley gain 20 years, looking like they are now in their 40′s.
Ash: ossan Mari: cin’s a dilf... Sagessa: dilf Mari: wait finley a milf now

The rest of the party attempts to dodge the spectres and Tess for the fight, taking damage as the spectres make grabs for them and sink their arms into them sapping them of their life force slowly.
Soon after the fight begins Tess ends up taking control of Ash’s body, possessing her for a majority of the fight, using her spells against the rest of the party, her eyes going an eerie bright blue. Ash retains her consciousnesses but loses control of her body, trying to fight against it unsuccessfully. Mari partway through casts entangle covering a part of the terrain in vines, trapping two of the spectres briefly. The party continually find they aren’t dealing much damage but Sagessa is able to effectively blast them off the field one by one with her spells.
Sagessa: I FEEL PELOR IN THIS CHILI'S TONIGHT Vernalis: ghost who?
Cin continuously growing angry over his possessed sister attempts to intimidate the spirit out of her, Tess does not leave the body but she is put off by him for a moments time.
Cin: leave my sisters body or ill ensure you'll wait for your mother for the remainder of your existence Ash: cries while tposing Cin: ash......sorry i played an Epic funny youtube prank on you... i love you
As the fight goes on others feel them age through the attacks, Vernalis gains 20 years though it doesn't seem to actually change her much aside from getting longer hair.
Mari: from 40 feet away: THATS CUTE
Cin is grabbed and ages another 35 years, turning him 75, making him begin hitting the danger range as the battle goes on. Sagessa turns her attention towards ash and begins damaging her to knock her out and Tess out of her body, closeby trapped by spectres on all sides Cin casts jump on Mari so she can escape, though Mari uses this to mario jump on a nearby ghosts head and misses entirely, falling right through them.
you see a flash of his memory of the inn in your vision and a whisper of "...blood" in your ears and then nothing as you scramble out from under him
The fight continues against Ash/Tess, however before she gets to the her last hit points Tess leaves her body after casting a final spell that knocks Mari out, though she is now free from her body.
It is this action that ends up costing her however as right after Sagessa readies a guiding bolt to end her.
Sagessa: i guess i'll walk towards her slowly and say a prayer for those lost at the inn in the fire and everyone who's been taken by whatever this is since and pray their souls find peace Sagessa: it's over now, rest my dear Sagessa: and then i cast guiding bolt
as you raise your hand and let the spell fly you feel a warm light wash over you, the spell strikes her square in the chest and you hear the sharp shattering sound of the medallion around her neck, she floats there suspended in time for what feels like an age. until the rest of the surroundings around you shatter as well, like glass falling away all around you. You hear her voice call out "i am sorry i am so sorry" and then blackness takes your vision.
You feel your bodies shift in and out of a dark space, falling, falling, all you can smell is smoke and all you can hear is screams, but finally you impact, underneath you feel hard wood, and as you open your eyes you see the cool night air. you all slowly rise again, as you look you see you are now laying in the middle of what seems to be a broken burned down inn in the dead of night
The party returns back to the present time, free finally from the limbo they were trapped in and rejoice, tired and hurting but alive (and their regular ages again). Ecarte plays a song to soothe some of their ails and as he does they begin hearing sounds from the rubble as more people rise up from the debris.....they appear to be the other patrons.
they all look confused and dazed, staring at the sky and at the ground Mari: omfg. zombies they dont look like gddamn zombies

It appears that the people who were spirited away to this place have all awoken too, alive and free from whatever beings and possessions that has taken them over, it seems the temporal rift that caused them to age and die reverted them back, just as the ageing on the rest of the party did as well.
As the party watch one by one helping them various patrons out of the debris, Estas approaches Sagessa and asks her if she is also a priest of pelor, Finely helps Gray dig for his mail through the dirt.
Sagessa: sister estas marigold! Estas: she cocks her head at you "that would be me....you know my name?” Sagessa: i reach out to take her hands "oh we've been looking all over for you! do you know how long you've been gone?"
Gray: Finley he thanks you for the help and eventually you dig out the things he was looking for to a loud relived cry from him and find his two other friends, as he gets up however he stumbles and almost faceplants into the floor again Finley: .....uh.....do you need a hand.... Gray: he mumbles that hes fine but once he gets to his knees his jsut kinda sits there and stares out at the horizon
The rest of the party sit together and take the night in as, Cin apologies to his sister and then goes to approach Ecarte, Ash goes off to hug a pouting Mari soon after.
Cin: i come up to ash first and hug her firmly "im sorry i couldnt save you.." Ash: it's fineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee forget it forget it i dont even wanna think about it no more. are you alright tho you looked like a prune there pffff Ash: i walk over to mari "are you okayyyyyy oh my gosh i'm so sorry for the thunder Q_Q" Cin: ... she got over it fast
Ecarte: same to you ^__^. i was kind of worried for a second there, what with you and the others ageing so suddenly like that. Cin: it wasnt too bad the first time but after the second one i thought i would... yknow. can i do anything to help out? Ecarte: i'm good at the moment but thank you! i'm just keeping an eye on everyone to make sure nobody else is too hurt while sagessa and finley go around helping the tavern patrons Cin: "i see" i lean my head on ecartes shoulder and take his hand into mine "just let me stay like this for a while then" Mari: mari feels nauseua again looking at these too
As Ash and mari sit together watching the others in the corner of her eye ash sees something glinting under the wood nearby in the faint moonlight as a whisper passes her ears, on the ground she sees there the craked medallion that Tess was wearing. As her and Mari look out across the field towards the graves she can see something glowing in the dark, the two head over to investigate it as the others watch on
>as you trudge on over to the graves and get closer you can see now, all around them there is now a set of white flowers growing, the same ones that were once on your hand, blowing idly in the wind. as you approach you hear a voice in your ears ash "keep it, it will keep you safe.....i am glad......they are okay" before a pause and then " i can see her again now " and then nothing, and the bright lght disappears into the air
Cin: set the flowers on fire jesus
With that their terrifying evening comes to a close, confused and tired the party comes to rest there for the night surrounded by the other patrons, waiting for the light of morning to come once again. The spirits trapped here having finally found some sort of peace in their newfound freedom, no longer cursed to repeat the night of their deaths over and over again. And the party alive, and scarred, albeit with newfound comrades and friends.

The Collective acquires Westbourne park site with GBP28m funding from Cheyne Capital
The Collective agreed to acquire the canal-side site in July 2019, subject to planning consent, which was granted by Westminster City Council in April 2020. This is the third investment Cheyne has made into The Collective, having previously supported projects in Canary Wharf and Earlsfield.
Designed by RIBA Stirling Prize-winning architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM), The Collective Westbourne Park, set against 40 m of canal frontage, includes 286 rooms and the development is set to be completed in 2023. The Collective and Cheyne Capital will shortly commence reviewing options for development finance to fund the construction stage of the project.
Formerly the headquarters of the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association in Westbourne Park, The Collective will transform the site into a new west London cultural destination, providing a vibrant, publicly-accessible 16,000 sq ft waterside piazza featuring a local dining experience, street food vendors and farmers’ markets, and an inspiring programme of arts and culture-focused events.
Members will have access to a broad range of world-class shared spaces including a state-of-the-art gym; wellness sanctuary with a pool, sauna and steam room; a cinema and a large community kitchen on the top floor with views across London.
The Collective Westbourne Park will also create a new performing arts space which will be available to use for free by local community groups including Paddington Arts. More than 12,000 sq ft of workspace designed for local entrepreneurs and makers will also be provided, with 20 per cent of the space available at discounted rental levels.
Reza Merchant, founder and CEO of The Collective, says: “In addition to allowing us to complete the acquisition of this incredible site, Cheyne Capital’s investment into The Collective Westbourne Park is a further endorsement of the institutional quality of the assets The Collective delivers and continued recognition of our model amongst investors.
“Our current operating portfolio has proven to be highly resilient throughout the pandemic, with demand underpinned by structural trends that have been accelerated by the pandemic including working from home and a rise in loneliness, giving us the confidence to bring forward game-changing developments like this one from our global pipeline.
“The Collective Westbourne Park will be a cultural destination for London built upon the foundations of local entrepreneurship and creativity that have historically made this neighbourhood so attractive and soulful. Our development will achieve the highest sustainability standards and our trademark Community Investment Programme will ensure the project has a transformational impact on the neighbourhood for many decades to come.”
Filippo Alessandria of Cheyne Capital comments: “We like to work with world-class partners over the long-term whom we know can be relied on to deliver high quality products. That we are now supporting our third co-living project with The Collective is proof that we have found such a partnership, and we are looking forward to continuing to work together on this exciting development.”
The Collective’s bespoke Community Investment Programme for its Westbourne Park project is worth over GBP770,000 and includes a dedicated Enterprise, Innovation and Community Fund for local start-ups and independent businesses. This has been devised with Westminster City Council and local stakeholders to ensure the development will act as a catalyst for a hyper-local approach to the regeneration of Westbourne Park and the wider Harrow Road area.
Alongside the focus on social impact, a heavy emphasis is placed on positive environmental initiatives. The Collective Westbourne Park will be rated as ‘BREEAM Excellent’ and use a range of green and sustainable technologies to ensure 100 per cent of electricity supplied is from renewable sources, contributing to the de-carbonisation of the national grid. The project will also be a car-free development and will provide a cycle hub for 200 bicycles, as well as offering a private cycle hire scheme to encourage members to use sustainable modes of transport.
