“Welcome.”
In exactly two years in the timeline of “that fic I’ll never write”, on August 29th, 2026, Taylor and John will welcome their first child, a daughter named Eleanor Hope Seed.
I picked this middle name because it felt right (I doubt I’m the only one who’s had this idea for a Seed baby and/or Far Cry 5 OC) and her first name was inspired by Eleanor Lamb from BioShock 2, the character who awakened my parental instincts.
Between 2026 and 2035, the couple will have a total of four children. In fact, until very recently (about a month and a half ago), I would have said three, but I decided to also include a last son, originally from a sort of New Dawn AU I had. It suddenly made me very sad that he didn’t exist in the “main” timeline, so I fixed that :)

How did the deputy ((your deputy OC)) first react to seeing the seeds in the church??
I wanted to draw something as soon as I saw this but it took me too long to finish it... Sorry for the late reply 😭

My dep is silly (sorry not sorry) and didn't think deeply at first. She wasn't paying attention to the briefing, and thought they were sane people... so to speak.

Am new to your tumblr (got drawn here by your pretty ocs (✿◡‿◡)) and I hope that has not been asked before but: What are your opinions on each individual Seed? And what do your OCs think about them? I always think it is interesting to see where opinions are the same or differ (●'◡'●)
Welcome! Feel yourself at home 😊
Oh, boi, do I keep my unhinged to myself when answering that? I guess we'll see. When I just got through my first FC5 run, I didn't find John to be that interesting (I didn't understand at the time really), Jacob was absolutely terrifying in a best way possible for a character to be, and Joseph became most intriguing to me, which is the case still: I am enamored with his whole character, but the more I get to know about him, the less I understand WHY, because he is infuriating, but he also keeps my underwear wet, and it's harder to say WHY by the minute 😂😅
Now that I spent some time looking into these characters, I see them a bit differently and I love them even more. Jacob was somehow the easiest for me to comprehend. I really like him as a character, and his villain image was shining even brighter when I played New Dawn: there, looking at twins, I realized for myself how intimidating Jacob actually was. I really like him as a brother/father figure, as a protector and I sorry about his fate. Can't say I would have anything to tell him, no words can fix a man like that I feel. At least none of mine. The only support I could've give is maybe hold his hand. He was a fighter and deserved better from the very start.
John opened to me with time, or rather was opened to me by people who know their shit about psychology😆 I thought he just have brain damage or something, but what escaped me at the start is his complicated set of traumas. But I know now... Again, I am very sorry about his fate, I pity him as a child, he did not deserve what he got. But John is an adult, and he is a lot. Here's my level of unhinged starts growing, because as much as I love John, I want to slap him, or stab him, or dismember him and eat his parts, while keeping him alive, I... Y'know? Normal stuff. I also have a set of my own psy problems that makes me feel a certain way about men like John: John Duncan (as well as Seed I guess at least at the start of the project) for the eyes of unknowing person would be too good to be true and therefore unworthy of trust, that means any other handsome, educated and charismatic man is untrustworthy. John Seed fucking triggers me, I feel unwanted every time I look at him, but I like him as a character nonetheless. Fuck this brat💖
Faith has impressed me by the control she has over The Bliss, it's fascinating. But she doesn't stick to my mind like brothers do, I kind of sorry about it. She is clearly a puppet, and though I pity her, and I think she is the one that was actually the closest to possible saving, I do not care that much. I'd say I wish to protect her from Joseph's influence, but it seems I got into this trap myself.
Fucking Joseph... Love. I love this man. I do this basically all the time👇
Tumblr media
He intrigued me from the first sight, and I even envy him in some sense. But I see him more clearly now. Started after FC6 Collapse DLC, where my desire to throw this man off a cliff grew with every phrase spoken in the game. This manic asshole... The infuriating thing is, I am an aggressive scaredy cat who IRL does not trust people or religious nature easily in general, but I FUCKING KNOW Joseph would wrap me around his finger, and I hate it. And I still enamored with him.
Imagining him being chained in my basement or thrown off a cliff is an erotic fantasy by now. I am so normal about him, you can't imagine...
***
My OCs think... a lot. There's a few Alternative Universes that vary their opinions a bit because of dynamics changing and switching, but overall it stays the same.
It really all started with Dina, I played ND and needed an avatar to express my opinions, though she quickly evolved into her own character. Dina Sommer is very loyal to Jacob in every story, she won't sleep herself to guard his peace, she won't eat if he has no food in his plate. In her eyes he is the best human being, she relies on him and is devoted to keep him safe. Dina respects Joseph. To a degree. He is not higher in her hierarchy than Jacob by any means and even more than that, with time Dina starts seeing Joseph as a threat to her commander's wellbeing therefore she doesn't like him in the slightest, though she won't talk about for obvious reasons. John and Dina barely meet and talk, and it was decided that they won't know what to do in each other's presence, because they both are fucking children. Let's say whatever opinion of John Jacob is translating to Dina, it is the exact one Dina has. Dina and Faith do not really know each other.
Salome Ann Clock is a caring soul, so no matter if my story of the day is angst or fluff, she tries to look for common ground and be a peace maker, to bring comfort to others, even when she is herself broken. She is able to find some pity in herself for Faith, respect for Jacob, forgiveness and compassion for John, but she is terrified of Joseph. Even in Twisted Untitled where she is married to him, Salome sees him as an idol first and foremost and is afraid of what he does to people and her, physically or mentally. Her basic was that she did not plan on killing so many people and Seeds too. Salome wanted to arrest them. To bring justice by the law, yes, but also because she wanted to do the right thing and save them. To realize she all this time was kept alive by Joseph's word alone was crushing to her.
My favorite warframe-witch-fairy-feetless-mystical-woman Wisp is enamored with Joseph, trusted most of the things he said for a very long time, they are very close friends. She is sorry for all his losses, loves him dearly despite understanding that he is sometimes goes too far. She is also the only character that can actually push that fucker around without consequences, and I love it for her. Because sometimes she actually does. She tries to protect his image in some sense, like a sober wife talks about her drunk husband, that she loves very much, but still embarrassed by him: he is not that bad, she swears, she'll grab him by the neck later if it makes you feel any better about the situation. Wisp respects Jacob very much since he is a soldier, hence a weapon, like she is, but because he is absolutely closed to her mental reach, they barely interact, which saddens her, but she accepts it as it is. Faith is Wisp's favorite girl, she is impressed by the Bliss control just like I am. They are definitely girlfriends on easy mode, but Joseph doesn't need to know it, hehe. If situation occurs, where Joseph and Faith will be in danger at the same time, there is a high possibility that Wisp will try to protect Faith first instead of running to Joseph. Wisp's relationship with John has two options: in any other story he is just a member of the family Wisp protects, because it is Joseph's family, but they are not even friends, bc John doesn't trust her; in Seeds & Witches however Wisp is John's long time friend, a nanny you could say, he trusts her 120%, and she cares for him like she never carried for Joseph even in any other story, John is her little mew mew baby princess boi💝
Recent addition to my group of cunts is Restless Mina. Originally started in Seeds & Witches, she is mostly indifferent in relation to all Seeds there, but Twisted Untitled helped me develop her, and it happens so she is in many ways a mirror image of John, so they are not very friendly to each other, but their hostility has more of a rival aspect than if they were actual enemies. Mina likes him, but hates to admit it, she teases and taunts him often just to make him mad. It is mutual. However this is a way for them to support each other, since they are not the same just as is, but in Joseph's eye as well, receiving the same treatment from him. Joseph wakes many complicated feelings in Mina, she is afraid of him, but sees no other light on her dark path, so runs to him when in need of a good word of wisdom. Which is often. She is also intrigued by Jacob and respects him highly, though is not very sure herself why that is. She is however tied to John (he introduces her to religion) and almost prohibited from visiting the mountains. So there's not much she can express about the older brother. Mina doesn't understand Faith, her field of work and influence is very confusing to the point of being scary to Mina, therefore she does not hold very high opinion about the sister.
I think that is all❣️

Hi!
What are your favorite Far cry 5 headcanons?
Hello! Good question 😁 I've got a few that I tend to apply to my "regular au's" lol.
I've mentioned in another post that goes into more detail about this. I headcanon Staci as being on the wrestling team during school.
It just makes sense to me and has kinda become unofficial canon in my mind so I guess that's my favorite one!
There's the classics!
Jacob's a speed demon and gets pulled over often
Staci's a mama's boy (I actually have a drawing of his mom I've been working on just need to make one last tweak and it'll be ready to post!)
A few others I didn't mention in the other post that I particularly like:
- Jacob not being able to control who passes the trials. They either OD on Bliss and the conditioning or they pass. So Staci would need to pass the trials with his own skills which just ends up as a bonus for Jacob cause now he has a pawn to use against the deputy.
-I usually headcanon Staci as mixed race or "white passing". I did a pretty in depth character study of his features cause I wanted to get it right and that's the vibe I got. I'll probably make another post about that one of these days.
Also, he's always bilingual to me. My go-to headcanon is that I can see him speaking in broken spanish/ english at home with his mom (kind of like in Spiderverse with Miles and his mom). It's the struggle of the immigrant/ 1st gen child wanting to keep in touch with their roots but would struggle to have a convo in pure Spanish. I imagine growing up he was surrounded by kids in similar situations as him so he had alot of opportunities to speak "spanglish" with them even if he wasn't very close to anyone in particular.
- John being scared of Jacob (which is canon) but being the first he runs to when things get tough. Jacob always helps out even if he doesn't agree with John's methods.
- Sharky's actually friends with Hudson and Staci (sorry i dont make the rules 🤷). He's got a 5k reward out for his arrest but no one in the County is willing to bring him in. Everyone's got an unspoken agreement like "He's an arsonist but he's Our arsonist", so when Burke comes sniffin round suddenly nobody's heard of him in weeks, they cannot see 🙂‍↔️.
- This last one is a bit more serious.
Early on, when the Seed's moved in. During the few years that it took to establish the Cult, a lot of the more outspoken deputies had "mysteriously" gone missing, or moved away. On top of that, Whitehorse ended up having to weed out a lot of the cultists and sympathizers when nearly all the evidence they had on the Seed's was "mishandled" "lost" "thrown out in court" ext. which by the end only left Pratt, Hudson, and Nancy.
That meant they had to keep their mouths shut about the cult info, couldn't go on any calls without a partner (which caused alot of houses to get raided since they usually arrived too late), and lots of overnight naps at the station. Staci and Joey worked hard to cover each other but they were running on fumes and practically lived in the station by the time Burke arrived with his little paper of unlimited protection. Rook was meant to be a much needed addition to the department. Unfortunately, their first day turned into a war zone situation.
I'd love to hear some of your headcanons as well!

More Hazbin Hotel music for The UnTitledverse, The Silver Chronicles and Life, Despair & Monsters, a WIP Wednesday for The UnTitledverse and The Silver Chronicles, with a snippet of a Far Cry 5 WIP that begins my contribution to Faithburary (where posts in relation to Far Cry 5 focus on Faith Seed) with my Bloodborne AU WIP, in addition to a moodboard and my answers to a "Life Update" Ask Meme. Read below:
Although Silva and Mercy love each other very dearly, there is a gap between them in Old Dusk, most notably the fact Silva had not gotten over the travesty of the Collapse, especially when it comes to her losing out on a life she wanted to have so dearly, and although she's been getting better by the time of Old Dusk, she's still a bit... disconnected for lack of a better term. In Old Dusk, Silva and Mercy manage to bridge the gap, especially when it comes clear to Silva her family needs her, now more than ever. Listen below:
youtube
"You didn't know that when I tried this all before My dreams were too hard to defend And in the end, I won't lose it all again Now you're the only thing worth fighting for
More than anything, more than anything I'll shelter and adore you more than anything."
"Mamá*, I don't need you to protect me from this." "I just don't want you to be crushed by them like- like I was."
"Mamá... When I was young, I didn't really know you at all I always felt so small But I heard your stories and I was enthralled The tales about your lofty dreams, I listened breathlessly Imagining it could be me So in the end, it's the view I had of you That showed me dreams can be worth fighting for
More than anything, more than anything I need to save my people more than anything."
"I've been dyin' to find out who you are." "I've been waiting, wanting the same thing." "Looks like the apple doesn't fall far." "Took you a while." "I've missed that smile."
"All that I'm hopin', now that my eyes are open Is that we can start again, not be pulled apart again 'Cause in the end, you are part of who I am!"
"I'll support your dreams, whatever lies in store!" "And who could ask for more?"
"More than anything ("More than anything!") More than anything ("More than anything!") I'm grateful you're my hija* more than anything!" ("I'm grateful you're my madre* more than anything!")
"More than anything!"
[* Changed "dad" to "mom", or rather "mamá", for obvious reasons (Silva is a woman)... also since this is a household include Spanish speakers, it'd be reasonable that the family members (specifically Silva whose first language is Spanish and Mercy who'd likely picked up Spanish from Silva and Azriel, in addition to Faith) would replace commonly used English words with their Spanish equivalent]
I, for one, will be willing to admit that "Welcome To Heaven" is my least favorite Hazbin Hotel song. Like "bottom of the barrel" least favorite in the entire show. So I've only dedicated a small section of it for my Love Death + Robots WIP, Ruins of the Midnight Rise which solely focuses on Sir Enigma Malvolio being a deranged menace to the multiverse. This song specifically is dedicated to the Season 3 episode "Swarm" which Malvolio and Uni just increase the nightmare fuel of, despite the chapter acting as a paradise.
youtube
"Gosh, I'm so pleased to show some outsiders around After you see our realm, you'll never wanna go back down!"
"Of course, it is just temporary I'm sorry you can't stay!"
"'Cause every sing day in Heaven is a happy day Welcome to Heaven, yeah!"
Last song is for my Hazbin Hotel WIP Smile Tunes, and is dedicated to the court scene in Heaven, where the Seraphim and attending angels all hear out Charlie for her plan of redeeming sinners like Angel Dust, Baxter and Sir Pentious. And in addition to them, returning Kingsley to Heaven. However, it not only becomes abundantly clear that the angels do not intend on hearing her out, like Adam and Sera, but the hierarchy is deliberately designed to ensure sinners in Hell stay there. To make matters worse, Charlie and Vaggie discover a key factor in their growing unease around Kingsley. Of course, Charlie won't be taking Heaven's blatant hypocrisy lightly, firing back with her own ferocity.
[CW: Minor reference to Sexual Themes described in a derogatory way by an unlikable antagonistic character]
youtube
"But she was right, Sera She showed us a soul can improve He saw the light, Sera Checked all the boxes that you said would Prove a person deserves a second chance Now we turn our backs, no second glance?"
"It's not as simple as you think Not everything is spelled in ink."
"It's not fair, Sera!" "Careful, Charlie, keep a cool head."
"No! Don't you care, Sera? That just because someone is dead It doesn't mean they can't resolve to change their ways Turn the page, escape infernal blaze!"
"I'm sure you wish it could be so But there's a lot that you don't know!"
"What are we even talkin' about? Some crack-whore who fucked up already He blew his shot, like the cocks in his mouth This discussion is senseless and petty!"
"There's no question to be posed He's unholy, case closed Did you forget that Hell is forever?"
"A man only lives once We'll see you in one month Gotta say I can't wait to- ("Adam...") -Come down and exterminate you!"
"Wait! ("Shit!") What are you saying? Let me get this straight You go down there and kill those poor souls?"
"You didn't know?" "Whoops!" "Guess the cat's out of the bag!" "What's the big deal?"
"Sera, tell me that you didn't know!" "I thought, since I'm older, it's my load to shoulder ("No!") You have to listen It was such a hard decision I wanted to save you The anguish it takes to Do what was required!"
"To think that I admired you Well, I don't need your condescension I'm not a child to protect Was talk of virtue just pretension? Was I too naive to expect you To heed the morals you're purveying?"
"That's what the fuck I've been saying!"
"If Hell is forever, then Heaven must be a lie ("Emily!") If angels can do whatever, and remain in the sky The rules are shades of grey when you don't do as you say When you make the wretched suffer just to kill them again!"
Here's a small snippet for Class A before Amasawa embraces her inner-menace and gives an unfortunate Katsuragi the experience of the nine stages of grief all in one interaction in the Classroom Of The Elite AU where Matsuo had sent Amasawa and Yagami with Ayanokōji to the First Year of ANHS because he took pity on them while they were all happened to be in Atsuomi's mansion. Read Amasawa's antics below:
The student Totsuka referred to, of course, was that of one of Class 1-A's girls; Amasawa Ichika.
Although her physical prowess and academic skills were exceptional and drove home her worthiness of being in Class 1-A, it was becoming increasingly clear she was becoming more isolated due to her boisterous personality and habit of encroaching boundaries, in addition to her frustrating neutrality in their Class A's splitting factions.
Kōhei recognized that having Amasawa apart of his faction could boost his chances of being recognized as more of a worthy leader than Sakayanagi, especially with one of the top students on his side.
However, according to Totsuka and Machida, all attempts to convert her to their side have been met with refusal. Albeit, Kōhei was unsure if there was a certain degree of bias in their statements; although both were met with a refusal, Totsuka seemed to have had taken it more personally than Machida, outright vocalizing his displeasure with the girl.
Regardless, they were running out of time in converting her. Sooner or later, Sakayanagi would make her move on Amasawa; Kōhei had noticed Yamamura making an effort in keeping an eye on the girl, and returning her findings back to Sakayanagi's close second, Kamuro.
And if Amasawa were to join Sakayanagi's faction, then that meant losing another advantage in maintaining Class A's focus on most important goal acquiring more class points and ensuring they are not demoted.
Kōhei did not wish to have the class follow Sakayanagi's more radical methods of keeping ahead of the rest of the classes. He suspected she likely could care less about the classes position. And that wouldn't for him, especially with the efforts the rest of his peers have put in to get to this rank.
He observed as Amasawa stretched out, leaning back against her chair, a wide grin across her lips with eyes closed. All of their female peers made the choice to avoid the general proximity of the girl, and not even his fellow male peers made an effort to speak to the girl.
Even the likes of Hashimoto didn't brave into such waters.
Sighing, Kōhei decided he'd reach out to the girl himself, offer her the chance of a place in his faction before Sakayanagi can whisk the opportunity away.
Standing up from his seat, he gestured Totsuka and Machida to remain in their own, before he made his way towards Amasawa.
The girl seemed to be none the wiser of his approach, though in this school, and this class specifically, Kōhei knew it was likely a front.
He paused at the front of her desk, his large stature towering over her by a lot. Amasawa was not a very tall girl; she was far shorter than the rest of them. Though he deduced it was because she was a year younger than all of them.
He cleared his throat to gain her attention. After a short few seconds, she peeked open one eye, revealing a gradient dark-red iris.
Looking him up and down, Amasawa closed her eye, bring her arms down to her desk as she rested one of her hands onto her chin, both eyes opened as she observed Kōhei with a grin he knew held no politeness.
A snippet for the FC5 Bloodborne AU, where Vicar Faith, after nearly being executed by her brothers, had been taken by Priestess Lillith and her Witch Coven to the Misery where they do wicked witchcraft, plus a little moodboard: [CW: Minor description of gore]
Tumblr media
The Misery had once been a dock where boats stocked up on supplies and transported mining goods to what had once been Catamount Industrial... although that was a very long time ago, before minerals dried up and left the dock behind.
It was then bought up by Eden's Gate when the Project arrived to the county, one of the few buildings available for purchase, even if it was ill-advised by the Chief Hunter himself. However, Faith's brothers had apparently persisted, and transformed the rundown dock into what became "the Misery".
Eden's Gate did not own the dock for very long; from what Faith found out, a few years before she joined, the Misery invited unfortunate incident after unfortunate incident; faithful went missing, a priestess found dead, multiple engineer failures, flooding and eventually the Misery attracted the beasts attention, leading the unfortunate souls maintaining the dock to be cornered in a death trap.
After such incidents, the Project abandoned the Misery, seeking out outposts with more open space and further exit routes. Leading to the Misery to be ignored, unnoticed by all. Perhaps that's why these witches sort it as the perfect sanctuary for their dark craft.
She observed the passing and goings of other women; young and old, short and tall, personalities differing from grim to lively to serene. Multiple women of various backgrounds, of various histories, working together in their shared interests of witchcraft and the dark bidding of unseen masters.
One thing she noticed was universal for the women were the attires they wore; clad in dark dresses and shawls, some with a menagerie of jewelry, others without, but all had a hand bell of some kind on hand.
Another detail she had been doing her best to ignore were the presence of so much eyeballs. Fresh, slimy, sometimes rotting eyeballs.
Some of the witches here had eyeballs stuck to their bells, others strung them to the hems of their dresses or belts, but most were clustered together; either in tight nets hanging around the indoors of the Misery, or in jars on desks.
The dried blood and use of shackled seats the level below had given Faith a faint indication of how those eyes were collected. Further confirmed when she arrived on the top level; the wrapped corpses hanging on hooks outside the Misery, and the stained red scoop spoons sitting on desks of candles, books and illustrations of familiar blood runes.
Faith should have felt sickened, but she had long since gotten accustomed to the smell and sight of gore in her seven year reign as Vicar at the Monastery. It had simply become apart of her life now. Violence and death would always have been apart of her life; whether it be at the Monastery or in the Project.
Faith realized that, had she stayed in Eden's Gate, she could have inherited the Misery; if she had never been given to the Hunter's Monastery as their new Vicar, a lot of things would have been the same and yet different at the same time.
She'd have the Father's approval. She'd be working on how to make the Bliss more efficient (and keeping her Angels away from the disturbing mind of Saint Matilda), and she'd be awaiting inside a bunker of her own once the beasts had all been eradicated and the Collapse came.
Though thinking on what could have been if she merely stayed under Joseph's watchful eye, had he not given her up to his rival, Faith would inevitably be reminded that, if she had stayed with her "family", she would have never met Silva. And that was not a prospect she could comprehend nor would even consider worth thinking further on. No what ifs would ever be as satisfying as being encompassed into the strong arms of her doting lover.
Fate had set its course for her; at least, according to Lillith.
When the next steps entering the top office of the Misery belonged to the Head Coven Priestess herself, Faith was reminded of the saying: "Speak of the devil, and he shall appear."
Though in this case, the devil before her was a woman. Still wearing her horned mask, clad in such detailed and refined black shawls, Faith felt the hair on her neck raise, especially when Lillith's orange eyes glanced towards the Vicar.
She still wasn't sure why Lillith had brought her here for; nor was she able to comprehend just how the older woman even performed such... illusions onto her brothers.
One thing Faith was certain of is that Lillith knew Silva. She wasn't sure if Silva knew the priestess though; her beloved never mentioned Lillith's name before, and she shared a lot with Faith. Sometimes, more than she should have, according to Paul.

My brain started to imagine a sort of prison Au for Eden’s gate because idk it’s fun but with their influence the brothers still grew the cult inside the prisons with the guards and all
Like Joseph using his usual charisma, John manipulation and Jacob violence
And i think Jacob in a prison would be WILD

Hi daisies 🧹🫶🏻😂 can you lore drop me some Sébastien facts that you can share so far? 👀
Tumblr media
Sébastien has, in Calahan's words, a name so long that it doesn't fit on a standard name tag: Sébastien Theodore Phoenix Sawyer Thatcher Landon Nicholas Gallagher-Kerring
He has quite the tumultuous relationship with his father where he's constantly torn between pleasing him and completely defying him any chance he gets
His mother is a well-known French artist who married Frank-Gerald out of love but soon discovered the man only wanted a heir and had utmost trouble staying faithful and keeping up the promises of a 'dream life' he wooed her with
His father would do anything to keep up apperances hence why any transgressions and attempts at rebellion Séb makes are quickly buried in the press. Same goes for his inevitable divorce to Gisèle that resulted in an airtight NDA, hefty settlement to 'keep her happy' (his words) and strict conditions for seeing their only son. Thanks to his team of lawyers, to the outside world their failed marriage remained picture perfect.
Séb is set to inherit his father's empire when he turns 25, over which he harbors an array of conflicting emotions: if he should leave it all behind and essentially tell 'old Gerry' to fuck off or would it mean his father would win and everything he (and his mère) went through would have been for nothing.
His most recent act of rebellion is the reason Sébastien ends up stuck in Hope County in his own version of 'Princess Heir Protection Program' with a cult twist. You can guess who becomes the Carter Mason to his Princess Rosalinda
Frank-Gerald is a big-game hunter and considered their yearly (and nonnegotiable) father-son hunting trips as perfect bonding time. Séb blames turning vegetarian on him.
Sébastien is a collector at heart, especially when it comes to first editions of items. His fashion sense is even stronger, so you can imagine how hard he takes being stranded with just the clothes on his back (outfit includes a ruined yellow Skydiving suit he cannot live down and is the source of many jokes and nicknames Calahan has for him) and the closest closet full of brands being John's.

I don't talk too much about Séb but he's on my mind all the same so consider this a Wip Whenever tag, it's been a while <3

So Greg Bryk regularly goes live on Instagram to chat with his followers and answer a few questions, and almost every time, someone asks if he’d like to play Joseph Seed again if he had the chance, to which he used to always reply that, yes, he absolutely would. However, in early 2022, he didn’t seem so sure anymore and said it would depend on the script (the question was specifically about a potential Far Cry 5 movie) and the writer(s). Then, a few months later, he implied he didn’t feel like playing the Father ever again because he thought the character’s story was “finished” and that Ubisoft should focus on creating new things instead…
Well, on October 14, 2023, he once again went live on Instagram and, when people mentioned Far Cry 5 in the chat, he revealed that he had reached out to Dan Hay and Drew Holmes, two of the game’s three main writers he’s become friends with, and that they had visited him “on set” (I’m not sure what he was shooting) the day before. In the past, he had already explained several times that he had loved working with them and thought the story they wrote (along with “JS”, Jean-Sébastien Décant, the game’s third main writer) was fantastic. This time, he added that Far Cry 5 was really “special” to him because the writers “cared a lot” about creating something great with amazing characters, and that he thought the whole Seed family was really well-written.
A few minutes later, when he was asked which character he would like to play again if he could, he said it was hard for him to choose because he loves them all, but he eventually picked Jeremy Danvers (Bitten) and Cobbs Pond (Frontier).
Then, surprisingly, he also mentioned Joseph.
I don’t know why he changed his mind again or if the fact he contacted Dan Hay (who doesn’t work for Ubisoft anymore) and Drew Holmes (who recently became the new IP Director for Far Cry) means anything, and I’m not sure I want more Far Cry 5 content to be released anyway (for continuity reasons), but I guess the Seed family’s return, as equally exciting and truly terrifying as this eventuality sounds to me, isn’t completely out of the question anymore in Greg Bryk’s mind!
