imagine being a regular ass dude on twitter running a fantwt for a random slice of life comic/tv show abt an art museum gift store. and there’s one character you just find so bland and you feel like the show would be exactly the same without them so you tweet as much one day

i think the issue with a lot of things is that twitter is super super spoiled and their used to getting only what they want from their ccs (bc they’ll harass them if they don’t ) so when scott makes teams and they don’t like them, they feel like they can be assholes and insult people

YEP i do think that a big reason for the lack of hermits/what feels like influx of dsmp players (even though it’s at it’s usual number i think) is because scott feels the need to please the fans. he Knows that he needs to please the dsmp side of twitter so that kind of comes at a sort of ? hurt? to any other mc community ? like to please dsmptwt/dttwt he has to take some players out and that in turn disappoints hermit fans/speedrunner fans etc. like obviously someone will end up disappointed because there are only 40 slots but it feels like dsmptwt/the dsmp in general are favoured above the others purely for their awful reactions that they have when they Are disappointed. moral of the story is that hermittwt n traffictwt n other fantwts are too nice and if they started harassing scott maybe we’d end up with a fruitninja+hermit team /HEAVY SARCASM DO NOT BE A DICK TO SCOTT

someone posted on the subreddit the other day that they think that mcc should jump ships to youtube instead and just make that their number 1 platform and at the time i thought jesus this is silly they Have to use twitter but now ? like do they? like the only thing i could think of hindering them from making the jump is the team announcements but realistically theyre easy, they could either post just the still image as a video, or they could make a lil video of the plays of each player or something? with links in the description to the player’s yt. but ultimately it’s not a bad idea? just treat twitter how they should be treated: ignore them LMAO

BACKGROUND

jieun wrote her own rap for hala hala! this was the first time her lyrics made the final cut and she was super happy and excited to perform something she made

before the mv for say my name was released, jieun actually secretly spoiled the choreography for it in a vlive. 

she and yunho were talking about driving because jieun had mentioned that she’d recently got her license, then proceeded to fake “drive” while doing the hand gesture for the smn choreo

you can see yunho freeze for a moment when she does it, but he acted like nothing was wrong to avoid suspicion.

although she really loved this era (say my name is one of her favourite ateez songs of all time), jieun was also incredibly stressed because their comeback happened at the same time as her finals at school :( 

she was trying her best to not let it show and luckily she was already known for being quiet so it wasn’t too much of a change

PUBLIC RECEPTION

netizens were happy to see that jieun was dipping her hands into the realm of songwriting even if it meant she had one part in hala hala before dipping 😭

it felt like people didn’t really get to know her much during their debut era (she was really shy and rarely went live or spoke during interviews because she wasn’t sure people would want to know more about her)

but we started to see more of jieun this era as she would join members in their lives, and the members also encouraged her to speak more often 

unfortunately, jieun’s promotions during this era were cut short because of health issues that forced her into a temporary hiatus early into promotions (more on that coming soon)

a lot of people were sad to see jieun already under so much pressure and trended #WeLoveYouJieun on various platforms to show their support 

she felt so grateful that so many people supported her, which motivated her to get well soon so she could come back

BACKGROUND

jieun was lowkey sweating her ass off in the moroccan sun, especially since she had her hair down for most of her film shots

she wasn’t allowed to drive the karts because she wasn’t old enough yet but it was still fun to drive around with jongho and seonghwa

the others noticed that she was a lot quieter than usual during filming, but it was just because she hadn’t yet processed that her dream was actually coming true :(

although she was incredibly excited at the chance to debut, she was also so anxious that people wouldn’t like her

but all of her anxiety melted away when they started promotions because she genuinely loved performing so much that it didn’t matter what people thought of her

PUBLIC RECEPTION

jieun already had a pretty decent sized fanbase from sixteen which carried over, even if people were skeptical about her debuting in a predominantly male group

a lot of people worried about how she would fit in considering she was the only girl, but everyone’s worries washed away because it was clear how close she was with the boys and how much they adored her

everyone was so surprised at how much she’d improved at dancing! she went from the most unconfident dancer in sixteen to a dance machine

a lot of people were also surprised by jieun rapping because she’d mainly focused on vocals during sixteen

dare i say one of the greatest glow ups in history?

all in all jieun was thriving during debut era and we love to see it
