It's important to me that anyone who reads my fic BTTW knows that @fantasyinallforms and @sunnyrosewritesstuff are both out here doing The Most for you all, and nearly, NEARLY tricked me into posting the next chapter a whole week early!! (Yes, it is written, no it is not edited! I was going to rush editing tonight because I thought it was my regular posting day and I was just really behind, haha!)

👀 I don’t know how angsty it would be (probably mild at the very least), but I DEFINITELY would! I even have something like this on my ideas list! I have a plot bunny from a few years ago where I wanted to do this, with correspondence between Bilbo and the mountain slowly diminishing and him believing Thorin has forgotten about him, etc…

…so maybe I should dig it back out again?

Mutual pining Bagginshield!

Hello friend,

I will surmise that this is for the "Do I ship it or not" game.

First of all, I always love Mutual Pining. It's one of my weaknesses, so please, please, yes.

Now, when it comes to Bagginshield, that's one of the most nuanced (not to say unnecessarily complicated) relationships I have with ships.

Do I ship Bagginshield? I don't know.

Can I imagine them being in a relationship? Yes

Do I like that dynamic and relationship? Sometimes

Have I written Bagginshield? Yes

Will I write it again? Yes

Do I read Bagginshield? Not much, tbh.

So, in theory, I absolutely am on board with Mutual Pining Bagginshield, because all the elements of the trope/ship fit my taste.

Unfortunately, it's not necessarily something I'd seek out actively. I am, at heart, an AU-bitch with a strong preference for shorter works.

If a fic fell into my lap, shorter than let's say 10k, featuring Bagginshield in a mutual pining arrangement, NOT in-universe...I would absolutely read and enjoy that.

BUT it's highly unlikely that it would fall into my lap.

Also, Bagginshield is a highly shipped pairing (with many people being very passionate about it), and I always feel a bit lost at sea among them :D

So, TLDR: Yes, yes, I'd ship that! (@lordoftherazzles can attest to that)

“Fetch Mistress Baerinda,” he said, and she didn’t really register who he was talking to.   His hand was still on her elbow, firm, but not restraining her. She knew she could shake herself free if she needed. Then there was another hand, warm and gentle, resting upon her cheek. Alenia looked to see her handmaid smiling at her.   “Come away, my lady,” she told her in that motherly way she had about her. Kind, but brooking no argument. “It’s time for bed now.”  “Oh,” Alenia blinked, and suddenly felt herself coming to. “Yes, of course. Forgive me, I…”   “I know,” Baerinda smiled, releasing her cheek and nodding reassuringly to her. “There’s nothing to apologise over. Come now, I have breakfast ready.”   Alenia found herself nodding along with her handmaid, turning away from the coffin. She moved to step down from the platform, and the hand on her elbow tightened fractionally to steady her. Looking up, she found King Virion right beside her, his face unreadable, but watchful.   “Can you walk?” he asked, and she vaguely wondered what other choice he supposed she had. She nodded and proceeded to do just that, albeit quite sedately.   Baerinda walked behind, and Virion kept his hand on her elbow as he stayed in step beside her.

good god this is difficult, it's gonna be more than three

Passerine by blujamas is probably my all time favorite. It's MCYT and it made me cry SO HARD Safe and Distant by Lindzzz is bagginshield and my god its got everything you could possibly want Reputation be Damned by Fantasyinallforms bestie, you SLAYED here. the open ending is killing me in the best way possible, so many possibilities!! I reread it so often Living Stone by northerntrash is also bagginshield and its FANTASTIC so much to think about!! Remembrance by Fantasyinallforms again, SLAYED and I'm currently working on my own sequel to this, but I honestly could only dream of it being half as good. I cried. It was amazing. You're definitely one of my top three favorite authors of all time

24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?

This one's tricky because everyone writes so differently and- nah just kidding, the worst writing advice someone ever gave me was to give up. They said I have too much going on and that I should focus on what's "really important".

My problems with this are threefold: first, having a creative outlet is really important to me and this casual dismissal of one of my favorite things (and something I consider to be one of my talents) really hurt me. Secondly, I'm pretty good at time management and while I do have a lot of stuff going on, I am still able to make time for my passions, so this advice wasn't helpful at all.

Finally, I think that if you love or want something, never give up until you get it. This belief comes from over a decade of competitive team sports and my coaches always told me that if I wanted something, I should work as hard as I could and try my fuckin best to get it, and never ever EVER give up. (Within reason of course.) I want to create stories, and I'm not going to give up. I might take breaks, but being creative is important to me, and I don't know how I could quit.

I don't know if I phrased all that correctly or got my passion/point across in the way I hoped to, but yeah. I ain't quittin :D

56. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?

This one's actually tricky because I don't think I'm that good at writing. I'm a math major and my job is in data science, so writing fictional stories isn't necessarily my forte; I've been told my stories read like a captain's log sometimes lmao.

That said, this actually helps me a little. For every hour of writing I do, I probably do 2+ hours of research. For whatever reason, I'm insanely good at figuring out what keywords to search and where to find information I need to make my stories as accurate/consistent as possible. I'm also a bit of a grammar nerd, so I rarely make spelling and grammar errors, and a lot of my friends irl pay me (in gummy bears, usually) to proofread their essays for spelling/grammar/clarity/formatting. I also help them with research if needed, cause tbh i fuckin love it (and I love helping others succeed)

Do you ever read your own writing for fun?

Hullo darling! 💛 For fun? Pfft haha, no I'd rather die. I'll re-read for editing and tweaking, but that's about all I can stomach of my own work! I did try to make myself read "Fictions We Took To Mean Fate" last week with fresh eyes to try and learn something about my writing and improve buuuut, I read the first three paragraphs like eleven times and couldn't get any further, so I guess I've learnt all I'm going to! 😂 Thanks for the ask!

Such a good word, and I gotta say...I couldn't decide which fic to pick, since. Guess that means I need to post both, huh? 😜

From my upcoming fic Led Only By The Stars (Space!AU) which will be coming out....eventually lol enjoy the plot bunny that's been changed since it was first written.

Brows knitting, Bilbo tucked his fingers into a tight fist one by one. The endless buzzing of rumours and mocking remarks felt like ravenous blowflies aggregating on his dying happiness, and he was tempted to squash them mercilessly. Remembering his upbringing and the discreet weapons of a gentlehobbit instead, he walked up to Thorin brazenly and grabbed the king by his richly adorned collar, pulling him into a passionate, entirely inappropriate kiss. Not one to complain about this welcome interruption of a boring conversation, Thorin melted into the caress gladly. When they finally parted, both their faces shone with pride.
