Introducing Fantasia Dreamer, an upcoming RPGMaker project about saving the country, but more importantly, learning how to be a better person! Differentiate between dreams and reality as you go on a journey to save your home… even though you really don’t want to.

A few months ago, a mysterious enemy arrived on Aevis’ shores, and began their attack on the country. Their goal? To shroud the continent in a sleep so deep, even the land itself will fall into eternal slumber, lost to the realm of dreams and never to wake again.
…buuuut that’s not your problem! You’re content to stay right where you are in the little town of Concordia and keep making your potions and terrorizing the local townsfolk until someone rises to the challenge and saves the country. Surely there’s some hero out there who will stop this villain, right?

What is your opinion of Walt Disney?
Okay I will warn you this will be a bit long
Walt Disney is an inspiration flat out no matter what you say he is an inspiration to me, I come from humble rural backgrounds just 3 hours away from me lays Chicago where the Disney Family built a house and was starting a life before Elias Disney Walt's father moved them to Mississippi
There's a reason Kansas City claims to be Home of the Mouse because that's where Walt did a lot of blue collar work, from working in ad companies to working in the newspapers while he taught himself how to draw and eventually yes how to animate
You know how he first made his projectors at home with one of those really old-fashioned cameras. I am talking 1920s camera a sheet and some technical know-how,
Laugh-o-gram Studios had just gone up and that's what caused them to move to California, they weren't known, they did not have a penny to their name, they were just some Mississippi Chicago boys with a wish and a dream,
And from a shed in the backyard of Walt and Roy's Aunt and Uncle, the Disney Company would be founded and to go from that shed to the absolute massive company we see now
That only happened due in part because of Walt and yes Roy I will always give Roy just as much credit as his brother because he's much like Oswald quite forgotten in this story
Walt was a man ahead of his time, the original Dreamer no matter who laughed jeered ect he kept pushing the boundaries of what people thought Animation could do,
That is not to say he was perfect ohhh no he was definitely human, he had problems sharing he was known for being unbelievably stubborn on certain things, extremely old fashioned in views (He was Lost Gen After all being born in 1901)
1941 he traumatized himself horribly by ostracizing his crew who wanted to form a union, it lead to Walt getting into an actual brawl out front of the Disney Studios with one of his inner circle as they called it, leading to that one leaving with several others it broke his trust badly, and even worse
It took his passion for Animation away from him
A majority of projects in the 40s, 50s and '60s up until his death weren't really headed by him, sure he was involved in certain aspects but a majority of the times it was somebody else in the Studio that was the main overseer of those movies.
It really is sad because Jungle Book which was released in 1967 gave him his passion for animation back he was actually enjoying himself and had a few projects in mind, just as the cancer unfortunately struck and took him not even 2 months later on Dec 15th 1966,
When people say Walt Disney had so much unfinished business, they aren't lying. He was an imperfect human who believed in Family, Wishes,Dreams and seeing the Wonder in everything,that everything had a possibility to be great,
Did you know Characters in the parks aren't supposed to let go in a hug until the child does because Walt said
When a child hugs you, you don't let go first. Let them let go when they're ready because you never know how much they may need that hug in their life.
He was not perfect. However, he was a prime example of not giving up despite adversity, caring for Families instead of the Profits, Lord knows he danced the edge with bankruptcy multiple times fun fact The Three Caballeros helped save the company in the 40s after Fantasias fantastic flop, the government paid Disney to produce that package film and thats what kept them from going completely under, also thank Disney for your Surround Sound because Fantasia is the first 1. There is a reason some do say Disney is the prime example of the American Dream realized.
Because that's all Walt Roy and Ub had when they walked into Hollywood in the 1920s and founded a company that would become known around the World eventually with a Mouse who's name would come to be known by almost every child.

We got Nightwish's Tuomas Holopainen to rank every single album by the band from worst to best
We asked Nightwish founder Tuomas Holopainen to rank the band's albums from worst to best - and some of his choices surprised us
From fantastical realms to elaborate filmic sagas and love-letters to Darwinism, the Nightwish discography is rich in intrigue – and low on dullmoments. As its central creator, Tuomas Holopainen is inextricably bound to the sounds, feelings and memories that saturate each of these nine albums.
His life is in this music. But if it came to it, in a castaway situation, which albums would he most (and least) want to be stuck with? It’s a tough call. “They are my children,” he pleads, “how would they feel if they saw the ranking? Wishmaster would be so sad!” Still, he did manage to settle on an order, and here it is...
9. Wishmaster (Spinefarm, 2000)
“It went to No.1 in Finland, but to me Wishmaster is one of those albums that was kind of ‘in-between’. It doesn’t stand out to me on a personal level. There was nothing revolutionary about it after [1998’s] Oceanborn.
It was made in a really good spirit – everybody in the band was happy after the success of Oceanborn – so this was just a natural continuation of that. But it didn’t really introduce anything spectacularly new for me personally. I think that’s my problem with it. If Ihad to pick a favourite song, I think I’d pick Dead Boy’s Poem; lyrically, it’s very much in the essence of Nightwish.”
8. Angels Fall First (Spinefarm, 1997)
“Our debut sounds so innocent because it was done as a demo. It was never supposed to be released, but we sent it to the record label and they said, ‘Let’s put this out!’ It still has my parents’ home address on the booklet.
“When I founded Nightwish in July 1996, I just wanted to do moody acoustic music. Since me and Emppu [Vuorinen, guitars] had a strong metal background, it was a natural transition to do something heavier, but that original acoustic band idea can be heard strongly. We couldn’t find anybody to sing, so I kind of dug a hole and fell into it myself.
"We played Elvenpath years later on the Decades tour, and I can’t understand how Floor was able to keep a straight face singing those lyrics – to her credit, she did! I just remember the kid that I was back then, writing those songs, and I kind of miss that kid, because it was all about Donald Duck and fantasy books and snowmen and things fantastical.
"Nymphomaniac Fantasia? Not my proudest moment. But it was done because there was a young kid who had some, I don’t know… issues, ha ha ha! Love-life gone wrong or something. It was a different time.”
7. Century Child (Spinefarm, 2002)
“After Wishmaster, I seriously considered quitting the band, especially thanks to the departure of the [original] bass player [Sami Vänskä] and my slight burnout. Then I went on a hiking trip in Lapland with Tony Kakko from Sonata Arctica, and he talked me over that.
"We needed a new bass player, and we needed management because until then it was me and Jukka [Nevalainen] the drummer taking care of the business side. So we got management, and we got Marko [Hietala, bassist/ singer until 2021], who was already a big name in Finnish metal – we were all big fans.
"There was a lot of bad stuff happening in the band as well – that’s reflected on the album. Slaying The Dreamer was a way to get rid of all that frustration. Artistically I found film music, Hans Zimmer above all, and that really can be heard on Century Child. But the album didn’t take us much on the next level. Artistically it did, but not commercially.”
6. Dark Passion Play (Nuclear Blast, 2007)
“It was a really easy album to write because all the emotions were there so strongly, after what happened with Tarja [Turunen, original vocalist who was dismissed from the band in 2005], and everything in my personal life. I was about to lose my mental health, and then doing the songs for this album saved it.
"I’m a very private person, but I write about some really personal things, and these people – Anette [Olzon], for this record – are singing it out for the whole world to hear. Ineeded to do a song like The Poet And The Pendulum, where I killed myself in the lyrics; I had to do it for my mental health, and it ended up being a wonderful piece of music.”
5. Imaginaerum (Nuclear Blast, 2011)
“Again, this was a pretty easy album to write – we all had a good time with it. When it comes to songwriting, I’m a morning person. I’ll wake up about six when I’m at home, then a litre of coffee and I’m off. Usually I’m done by two or three o’clock. I write songs upstairs in my little home studio – just a keyboard and a lakeside view. In the studio with the band, the other members and the engineers are more night owls. Also in the tour bus it’s always me up first, making coffee downstairs.
“It was clear from the start that this would end up being a film. We thought, ‘What haven’t we done yet? Let’s do a music video for every song on the album, and then somehow combine them to become this really weird film.’ It’s a very optimistic album. It just puts a big smile on your face.”
4. Once (Nuclear Blast, 2004)
“One of the best times that this band has ever had was 2003- 2004, making the Once album, and the first part of the tour after that. In late 2003 we flew to London to record the orchestras. I rang the studio doorbell and Rick Wakeman opened the door. I think I said, ‘Errr… [makes incoherent starstruck noise] Thanks!’
"We went to the studio, started playing Ghost Love Score and my face melted. Like, ‘I’m next to Wembley, listening to the orchestra playing a song that I wrote, this is really life at its best.’
"Something happened with that album – all the stars were aligned. I remember looking at the album charts and seeing ‘Nightwish, Michael Jackson, Anastasia’ and going ‘Really?!’ I don’t think any of us were quite prepared. You get sucked into this massive world of big tours and worship from the fans, then the money starts to flow in, and it’s easy to lose your perspective. Impulse purchases? I did a round the-world trip on my own, it was wonderful. But money has very little meaning to me."
3. Oceanborn (Spinefarm, 1998)
“Our ambition went through the roof after Angels Fall First, because we all realised that this is actually really fun. I was studying biology, Tarja was studying singing, I think in Germany, Jukka was studying to be a computer engineer, Emppu was working in a carpet factory.
"Music was just a hobby. And then we realised, ‘There’s something going on here, so let’s put all the focus in Nightwish for maybe a few years, and see what happens.’ It was eight hours every day in the rehearsal room, playing the songs and just really feeling it. It was the watershed album for us, it took us to the next level.
"All the guys, we had just gotten out of the army so we all had short hair, we had no idea about the metal scene at all. We were complete countryside hickeys who just happened to like metal music, and we were given this chance to show what we could do with a three-album deal. It shouldn’t have worked on paper, but somehow it did.”
2. Endless Forms Most Beautiful (Nuclear Blast, 2015)
“If Floor hadn’t come along, I think that would have been the end of the band. We got over an ugly divorce once [with Tarja], then again with Anette, then Floor comes along and everything shines bright again. She learned the setlist in 48 hours – when I called her, she was at her sister’s wedding. Even from the first show the fans embraced her. So we took a lot of that good feeling for Endless Forms Most Beautiful [named after a line from Charles Darwin’s On The Origin Of Species].
"We went to Röskö campsite in Finland to record. It’s a four-hectare area by a lake in the middle of nowhere, belonging to the Boy Scouts. We stayed for three months. Every morning we’d rehearse for a few hours, have lunch, go back, rehearse and then spend the evening with each other by a campfire, barbecuing, playing acoustic guitar, singing, going to the sauna and talking about the songs all the time. The Greatest Show On Earth, that’s the Nightwish desert island song. I’m sure we’ll play that at the end of the setlist until forever.
"We recorded Richard Dawkins’ part in Oxford. He’s quite the character. I’m a huge fan, so I was really starstruck. He did his parts beautifully, it was over in about 30 minutes and then he gave us a ride back to central Oxford in his Tesla. And halfway back he asks us, ‘So are you musicians or something?’ Ha ha! So his head’s somewhere… all the time! But he’s a wonderful guy.”
1. Human. :II: Nature. (Nuclear Blast, 2020)
“I immediately knew after Endless Forms Most Beautiful that ‘OK, we have to do more songs about this.’ And so the idea of Human. :II: Nature. was first to have songs about humankind, and then you play the other CD and relax and go into nature. My memories of making the album are of happy times, no conflicts. We returned to Röskö to make it.
"When the pandemic hit, it was like, ‘Should we postpone the release?’ But it was all printed and the advertisements had gone out to the papers. So the record label said, ‘Let’s go with it. Maybe people will have more time to concentrate on it…’
"Noise was a big single, but there’s also something about Shoemaker [named after famed geologist/astronomer Eugene Shoemaker]. It’s on the artsy side, but not in a pretentious way.
"Realising what evolution is… it’s about realising our mortality, at least for me. And it’s made all the difference. When I kind of realised that this is very likely the only life we’re gonna have – it’s only after that that I started hugging my dad. I never hugged my dad before that. I’ve just felt much more liberated and in the light ever since.”

Resonate (my magical OCs)
Resonate, sometimes stylized as “Re:SON@Te,” is a group of 15 magical girl (and boy/enby) idols who are lifelong best friends.
The transforming catchphrase for everyone is “Whimsical Wonder Wave!”
They all transform with special perfume paint.
The story, Symphony Saga, begins when Amelie hears a forecast that her hometown, Speckle Town, will be destroyed by a meteor. While everyone else evacuates, Ame feels there must be a way to save her town so she goes and investigates. She ends up finding a book that tells a legend, if an idol group of fifteen friends performs a "legendary song" under the meteor as it falls, it will destroy the meteor and the town will be saved. So Ame, along with her two best friends, round up twelve other people to be an idol group of fifteen…
This group becomes Resonate. Each member has a story to them.
During the group's musical performance, they gain the ability to transform into magical girls! They successfully destroy the meteor. Now the adventure begins…
This story takes place in the magical world of Whimsica.
After they save Speckle Town, many other magical adventures await Resonate…
The Cozy House is an apartment complex that houses many of the characters. It’s also like a “town within a building.”
Their school, Adventure Academy, is a surreal, wacky school with 100 floors and is filled with adventure, monsters, dungeons, secret rooms, surprises, and fun…

Gender- Demigirl (she/her) (they/them)
Amelie is optimistic, overly idealistic, ambitious, a dreamer, sometimes awkward, quite animated, a bit chaotic, and a bit dramatic.
She is best friends with shy elfin girl Yuki Aizaki and cheerful yet clumsy girl Joy Smiley.
Amelie Sugar is usually spelled in Japanese as アメリー・シュガー but “Ame Sugar” which is something of a stage name, is 佐藤飴 (Satou Ame, but pronounced Sugar Ame in this name.) The kanji for Satou mean “sugar” and Ame means “candy.”
She is bunny fauna, meaning part rabbit, and has bunny ears and a tail.
Her magical paintbrush weapon, Whimsicalibur is huge and colorful and can be ridden on like a witch’s broom. Ame can create magical objects by painting them to life with Whimsicalibur. It also shoots magical sparkle beams.
Lives in the Cozy House with her family.
Her character items are strawberries and cupcakes. Her favorite foods are these and also ramen and cheese and bubble tea.
A genki girl.
Somewhere between introvert and extrovert.
Lives with her mother and father, and also an erratic gremlin version of herself named Pastell.
Has a close friend named Anya, who is nonverbal.
Has two cats, Scout and Minnie.
Friends with the anthropomorphic bunnies Muffin and Merengue.
Ame has quite a huge appetite.

She is half black, half Korean.

Yuki Aizaki | 藍崎雪

Gender- Demgirl (she/her)
She is Kiri’s cousin. Yuki and Kiri met each other recently for the first time since childhood.
Yuki is gentle, sensitive, shy, a bit gloomy, yet hopeful, and a bit boyish in style. Deep down, she is courageous and heroic.
She is an elfen, meaning she has elf ears and nature-related magic.
Yuki’s magical powers are ice and snow related. They are hard to control at first.
A shy girl, dandere. She is introverted.
Yuki lives in the Cozy House. She recently moved there.
Yuki has family troubles.
Yuki loved her grandmother who passed away. Her name was Shiro. She was Kiri’s grandmother as well. Ever since the death of her grandmother, Yuki’s mom had been acting erratic. This is why Yuki ran away. Ame also was running away because she had a bad grade on her test. The two meet, and Ame invites Yuki to live in the Cozy House.
Yuki has a distant half-brother named Shimo. They share the same father. Their father, Gin, had Shimo from a previous marriage before divorcing and meeting Yuki’s mom. Then Gin divorced Yuki’s mom as well, and took Shimo with him. Yuki and Shimo never saw each other again, until…
Yuki’s mother is named Murasaki. Murasaki’s sister (also Kiri’s mom) is named Midori.
Has a beloved pet kitten named Snowbell who was originally a plush from her grandmother, but came to life when everyone gained magical powers.
Her favorite foods are flan, bubble tea, and spaghetti.
She is Ainu Japanese.
Her height is 5 feet 8 inches.
Her birthday is November 21.
Joy Smiley | ジョイ・スマイリー
Color- Red
Weapon- Magical giant color-changing crayon
Signature Attack- Blissful Jubilee
Catchphrase- Spread some joy! The power of smiles!
Age- 18
Gender- Female (she/her)
Joy is cheerful, clumsy, strange, dorky, childish, and has a dream to make everyone smile. She can also be a bit irritating, but she hates more than anything else to be called annoying.
An extrovert who loves parties.
Joy is a regular human.
Joy has two moms. They’re named Hope and Love. She still lives with them.
Loves animated movies and magical girl things.
Jokes a lot. Doesn’t take things seriously easily, which she is criticized for.
Her favorite food is chicken nuggets.
She is black.
Her height is 4 feet 9 inches.

Rhona loves the ocean, is stoic, quiet, calm under pressure, is mistaken for harsh and calculating. She is a very sweet person and is awkward around people. She has low self-esteem and a generally self-sacrificial nature.
Rhona is a descendant of the sea people from the lost underwater civilization of Nautica. She does not find out until later. This can explain her love of the ocean, ability to talk to sea creatures, gift in swimming, and feeling at home among the waves.
Has a whale shark friend named Quartz as her best sea creature friend. They met when they were both young children. Quartz was a whale shark stuck in a lagoon and Rhona helped free him to the ocean. One day years later, Rhona was out freediving when she ran out of oxygen. Quartz happened to be there to see her drowning, and pushed her to the surface. This is how they met again.

Her area also has a lot of cryptid sightings and generally feels cursed. Out of all the characters, her house is the closest to Forsaken Woods. Aya and Aaron live without their parents.

Amelie Sugar is my self-insert. She is also an UTAU and possibly upcoming Vtuber.
I have also made UTAU voices for Rhona, Nagisa, Luana, Joy, and Rie by editing my/Ame’s voice. They’re imperfect for now.
Symphony Saga was originally a Vocaloid/UTAU fanfiction.
A lot of these characters are based on my interpretation of Vocaloid and UTAU characters. These characters have no canon, and their personalities are up to interpretation. I decided to make my personal interpretations into OCs, because it feels much more fulfilling. It’ll finally be canon, in a way. Because they’re their own characters.
Yuki Aizaki is based on Yowane Haku and replaced her original role in this story. You could also imagine her to have Yowane Haku’s voice, since that’s now her voice claim.
Kiri Takamori is based on Hatsune Miku and has her as a voice claim.
Yume Yozora is based on Utane Uta and has her as a voice claim.
Lanyue Fei is based on Soune Taya and has him as a voice claim.
Juhong Cha is based on Namine Ritsu and has him as a voice claim.
Aya Hart is based on Kasane Teto and has her as a voice claim.

I chose the name Yuki 雪 for her because aside from meaning snow, her kanji has the kanji radical for “rain” in it, 雨, one of the ways Ame translates to Japanese. Also her half-brother’s name is Shimo 霜 meaning frost, her cousin is Kiri 霧 meaning drizzle, and Kiri’s little sister is Kasumi 霞 meaning mist. Did you notice that all those kanji look similar because of the 雨 being in it?
Yuki’s mother Murasaki has a name meaning purple. Kiri’s mother Midori has a name meaning green. Shiro means white, Gin means silver, and Ao in Aosuke means blue.
Amelie Sugar is usually spelled in Japanese as アメリー・シュガー but “Ame Sugar” which is something of a stage name, is 佐藤飴 (Satou Ame, but pronounced Sugar Ame in this name.) The kanji for Satou mean “sugar” and Ame means “candy.”
The reason why many Resonate members’ birthdays are in late November is because in real life, November 16-23 is something called Rainbow Week for me. writing away my ateez PCD💀
I met you on a September night in the middle of a sea of strangers, screaming my liquefied heart out into fleeting utopia written by stories in the form of faraway muses for a girl’s blooming fantasia.
I. Fire eyes and zealous blood crashed through the glass like a wave in a storm starved of savagery, sweeping me off my feet in the inception of a new age, the age of the opal at the centre of the world. In the spotlight, the opal glimmers white and unleashes its magic within, seven more colours shining as a brazen aurora - the eye of the storm. An eye I’ve stared into long enough to be buoyantly lost at sea watching longingly like a mermaid for the ships that will pass, soaking in the colours and sounds of their boisterous parties. Sometimes one too many ships come through, and I hope the stars tell their captain that the waters are calm enough to drop the anchor and sleep at night. He looks to the stars every sunset, yet he must always go on. He’s deafening hues and glittering dreams. He’s exquisite in his ferocious grind with beauty flowing from him in tunes and melodies that ripple through the vast ocean and glisten under the twilight. The stars never disappear after sunrise.
II. Too much stardust in the making of one person births new stars in the form of eyes which brim with uncontainable light spilling down smiling cheeks, strawberry-stained with soft, tender love. He’s the king of the stars, the light in the ship’s long nights spent sailing through quiet waters and turbulence. Every other star would fall from the sky to grant his wishes and renew to see him again, wrapped in pastel pink primroses that bloom in his glow. He holds the stars in his hands and tells them they are pretty, but doesn’t know we are more beautiful for the beauty that ebbs through his palms and his voice.
III. When he lets words and songs fall he’s the warmth in running a hand through the fur of a golden retriever after an afternoon in the sun. Evanesced honey encapsulates his golden being, a sweet promise of falling six feet and an inch deep into eternal sunshine. He reaches to the stars and takes them with him as the ship cruises into the ever changing horizon that echoes dreams of ballads he hasn’t even sung, but already fill the air. Say his name, and he is luminous.
IV. Existence meets artistry when body and soul is beautiful enough to rile the sea and capture the stars upon a graceful gaze, a smile ever so slight. The art he is blares across the seven seas in his quiet and he is divine, dazzling light and branded by Aphrodite’s kiss as her incarnation that walks the earth and sails the waves. A blue bird’s velvet feathers are smooth as an enchanted baritone for spellbound galaxies raining meteors for statuesque perfection come alive. The flower dances in the breeze, delicately lethal as poisoned perfume. I’m in love.
V. The most majestic mountain commands all eyes on its unrelenting spirit: dreamer, diamond, fever dream itself, a harbour for the ship. The mountain lives in a boy sculpted by celestial hands, gorgeous in a dancing illusion of menace before a winged heart cherry-coloured with romantic fervour. His voice bounces across the water and into the reflection of the stars, like a cue to let go of the breaths they had held, and breathe. He smiles like summer sun, dimples deep as the sea below that might overflow with the stars’ zeal. He’s all bewitching and more, more, more.
VI. He’s a flame, sunset-chrome fireworks ripping through the skies and stars turn to moths when his words cascade in rolling thunders. He’s in the lingering ring in my ears, the roar of thousands of voices, the arrow to hearts that skip a beat every time he proclaims his dynasty. Wake up world, his eyes say, and don’t stop staring. Yet he is cotton clouds and a sprinkle of rain to a hot day in August. A laughing conundrum, an untitled song.
VII. Can stars wish upon themselves? For ivory silk, black velvet, brimming heart and cherry lips. Foxy eyes that twinkle like a million fairy lights when he laughs out the answer to cloudy grey days. Torrents of love borne by one shining soul flood whole stadiums when he dances like lithe butterfly wings or morphs into a vivacious panther stealing stars with a biting gaze. He’s so achingly beautiful (he’s wonderland). All the stars would empty their light on the surface of the ocean just so he could see his reflection painted in loving reverence.
VIII. The apple of the eye of the storm boils the ocean with spellbinding song, raising magical mist all the way to shroud the stars in lavender, violet, indigo fantasies. He sings an eternity of new galaxies to life, one mortal holding up the cosmos with the finger every star is wrapped around, and new stars are born each day. The universe is still when his music fades, each star unblinking in awaiting for the next ship his smile may grace. Waiting, waiting, shining, still here. His timeless smile tells the world he is radiant even in the silence between songs - a lover loved to the edge of each universe.

Faith & Trust Pt. 2/3
Fic Description: In light of the events of The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Yen Sid finds his once eager and curious apprentice to be overcome by a crippling fear. To reinvigorate his student's fire, he takes him to a world whose very lifeblood is the imagination of a certain "boy who never grows up." But things have changed since the sorcerer's last visit, and the place meant to prove the joys of imagination, might be the thing to reveal its darkest possibilities.
Commentary: A very different story than the one I've been working on. This tale is a bit of a Disney crossover between Fantasia and Peter Pan, and serves as a bridge between the timelines of the Disney Fairies movies to that of Gail Carson Levine's Never Fairies trilogy. The thing about worlds built on imagination is that they tend to follow the imaginer. The whim and ideas that flood a dreamer’s mind are what these places are built on. This is all well and good while their dreams are filled with wonder and magic, when curiosity fills them with hope, and when ‘happily ever after’ falls just in line with what they believed it would be. However, one cruel curse poses the greatest threat to the world of the dreamer.
Reality.
It is possible to fall so deeply into a dream that one forgets their world does not define another. So when the story deviates, when another player steps outside their role and whispers the unthinkable “no”, the dreamer’s world is shaken to its core. Oftentimes, it begins to crumble.
Peter Pan was never one to believe in other worlds outside his own. This was his dream, after all. His laugh alone could turn night to day, or steer a hurricane from its course. His frown could bring thunder rolling into the sky, or send a pirate reeling into the depths of the sea. When he spoke, no one could disagree. If his words fell outside possibility, possibility would hike up its skirt and move. For as long as he could remember, this had been the way of the world.
It took one girl to change all that.
He had been drawn to Wendy Darling in the most peculiar of ways. She’d seemed like most other souls at first. When he smiled, she crumpled. When he invited her towards adventure, she couldn’t say no. She was another wonderful addition to his story and, to be sure, Peter was certain he’d been the one to write her in.
The problem with Wendy Darling was that she began to change. This was new to Peter. Pirates were pirates, and always would be. Lost boys were lost boys, and were certain to never grow up. But Wendy? Wendy could do whatever she pleased. When a certain pixie, too caught up in Peter’s spell to control herself, tried to rid Wendy from the world to keep him for her own, Wendy Darling chose to be kind. When Peter took his attention from Wendy to another, certain she’d be too wonderstruck to care, the girl saw through his childish games and refused to play along. When he’d most wanted her to stay…
She had chosen to leave.
And slowly, little by little, the rest of Peter’s world became tainted with this idea that maybe, just maybe, it wasn’t all his to command. Pirates became more cunning, and Peter found he could no longer predict their every move. The lost boys got smarter, and it seemed to Peter that Slightly was becoming a bit too big for his britches.
Then there was Tink. If anyone had been most changed by Wendy’s coming and going, it was, ironically, the one who’d most wished she’d never come. Tinker Bell had been bound to Peter since the moment they met, drawn to him with such force that it never even occurred to her that she could exist again without him. Then that Wendy-Bird came along, and Tink learned quite quickly that Peter was perhaps not so drawn to herself as she’d been led to believe. That didn’t matter. The enchantment of his presence, his laughter, and his smile still bound her and she knew if he called for her again, she would come. She had to. After all, no one could say no to Peter Pan.
No one but Wendy, apparently, which had put quite a bit of a new perspective on things for Tink. So when the girl left and suddenly, Tinker Bell had Peter Pan all to herself all over again, she found she wasn’t quite sure she wanted him anymore. Of course she still loved him–she couldn’t help that–-but she realized then and there that she was, perhaps, something of a great fairy even without him. So Tink had left too, and Peter felt something he had not ever felt before. He felt lonely.
And with that, the magic of Neverland began to slip.
Yen Sid had not known this when he stepped inside the world, the young Mickey clinging to his robe as he trailed behind him. But such is the way of magic. For though, he thought, it had led him here to solve a problem of his own–the fading hope of his once-curious apprentice–it had also found the perfect opportunity to bring a bit of aid to the world itself. Whether the little mouse was up to the task, however, was another situation entirely. But the magic was unconcerned with that. Its job was to grant opportunity–what the individual chose to do with that was up to them.
When Mickey took his first step on Neverland, the island shuddered. For all his fear and uncertainty, the child still possessed a great deal of imagination, and this was a power the world had begun to desperately crave. In Pixie Hollow, Tinker Bell suddenly found herself overcome with a glowing new idea for an invention, and raced off in search of Lost Things to build it with. The Second Star glowed twice as bright and, seeing this, Peter thought that maybe he could manage to pick himself off the floor of the hideout to search for some treasure. Maybe. But deep in the heart of Neverland’s lone volcano, a different sort of creature stirred. For in the shadow of Peter’s melancholy heartbreak, something dark and treacherous had formed. Mickey’s presence gave it the power it needed to wake.
Imagination goes both ways, after all.
Mickey followed behind his teacher with tentative steps and a wide-eyed wonder. He felt as Yen Sid tensed, and knew at once that something wasn’t quite right.
“Stay close, Mickey,” the sorcerer commanded, with a voice Mickey recognized as one meant to scare him, but not Scare him. His curiosity only grew, but he dared not race off to satiate it. Not after what happened last time. So he settled with looking about him, wondering how any world could have ever become so endlessly green.
Meanwhile, Yen Sid trudged along with a wary eye. The world seemed its usual self to anyone not well versed in the art of magics. But the sorcerer could sense the mischievous nature of the island was in a frenzy, and it clustered around the mouse with which he traveled. With his usual frown, he silently urged it to depart from them—he wanted to reinspire his apprentice, not frighten him all over again. By heavens, where was that Peter Pan?
“Stay here,” he urged the mouse at last as they encountered a particularly thick patch of jungle. While the ferns and foliage parted seamlessly around the sorcerer as he walked through them, Mickey was not nearly so fortunate, and his robe was becoming tangled in all manner of vines and twigs. So silently, the child obliged, and found a place atop a fallen log where he sat swinging his legs as his teacher continued on through the wood in search of someone Mickey didn’t know.
There was quite a lot to take in, even in this little patch of the world. The insects alone were more vibrant than any Mickey had seen, and he wondered as he saw a butterfly passing by if it was here that Yen Sid had found inspiration for some of his most colorful spells. He shuddered a bit as he thought of that, and the memory of his watery escapade flooded his mind all over again. A sick feeling settled in his stomach. No more magic. No more imagination. He’d proven he wasn’t cut out for that sort of thing.
Still, it was hard not to entertain a little bit of creative thought as he sat staring about him. The sunlight filtered through the canopy in golden streams, and Mickey thought it fun to imagine these to be little rivers of pixie dust, carrying with them dancing fairies (which were, really, little bugs and falling leaves) in a winding parade to the forest floor. Yen Sid had mentioned fairies before, hadn’t he? There was one Mickey had always thought particularly interesting, but he couldn’t seem to remember their nam-
No sooner had he begun to think this than something raced by him, too quick to clearly see. With it came the sound of light jingling, and the leaves about Mickey were swept up in such a way that he couldn’t help but sneeze as they brushed across his nose. He swiveled his head to follow the sound, and watched as thousands of sparkling lights settled on the forest floor before swiftly fading away.
His fur stood up and his tail straightened, the very curiosity he’d tried so hard to resist tingling across his entire being. Yen Sid’s instructions still hung over his head, but they were quickly losing their hold. He slid off the log and peered into the shadows, a tentative grin making its way onto his face. It wasn’t really mischief if he only went a little ways away, right? He’d be back before the sorcerer ever knew the better.
Before he knew it, his feet were carrying him through the foliage towards where he’d seen the creature fly. Mickey couldn’t help himself. His excitement had gotten the better of him and for the first time in weeks, it was enough to drown out the fear.
The jungle foliage soon grew sparse, dirt and leaves replaced instead by soft sand beneath his slippers. Mickey kicked off his shoes when it became too difficult to walk on the shore, and laughed as the sand dusted his fur. The ocean rolled in gentle waves, brushing up the shoreline, and its sound nearly disguised the jingling that came from nearby. Nearly.
Mickey drew in a breath when the sound tickled his ears and grinned widely, turning to face it. A faint glow emanated from a small clump of reeds. He tiptoed towards it and gently parted the grass, but the being within was too focused on their own task to notice the comparatively giant creature peering its way.
To be fair, Tinker Bell had a lot to occupy her. There was a pair of Clumsy spectacles lodged deep in the sand that she was having a grand, ol’ time trying to dig out. She hadn’t quite decided what she was going to use them for yet, but she figured the glass might be good for conducting sunlight, and she was sure Fira or Iridessa would be happy for some help. The frames she would keep–she’d gotten a neat little idea out of the blue this morning, and though she wasn’t quite sure how or why she was going to execute it, something told her these would come in handy.
If she could get them out, that was. She’d been yanking on one of the bars for quite some time already, and it refused to budge. Face red with both effort and frustration, she gave it a little kick before grabbing hold with an even tighter grip and yanking with all her might. Something moved this time, only it wasn’t the spectacles. Tink went flying backwards in a flurry of pixie dust, landing straight in a soft bunch of scarlet something or other.
She sat up and shook her head dizzily, wondering just what had broken her fall. Something like crushed velvet surrounded her, and she tilted her head curiously. If there had been another Lost Thing so close to the spectacles, she was certain she would have noticed it. So what…?
No, not what. Who.
She jumped up in a burst of pixie dust, and flew as fast as she could to the other side of the reeds. It wasn’t Peter, and certainly not one of the lost boys–none of them would touch the color red aside from a feather or two (red was a Pirate color, they had long since decided). But if it was a pirate, she had an inkling she’d have been a bit too late to escape their clutches.
Cautiously, she peeked out from one of the reeds to see if she could spot the culprit. She could spot him, all right, considering he wasn’t exactly hiding now, but she’d never seen anyone quite like him before. He was about Tootles’ height, if not a bit smaller, and Tink briefly wondered if maybe he was a Lost Boy after all, judging by the ears atop his head. But no, no…those were his. As was the little tail that wound behind him. She supposed he was a mouse of sorts, though he looked like none Tink could recall, and there was an air of the Clumsies about him too.
When he caught her looking his way he froze, then gave a shy little wave. Tinker Bell wasn’t sure what to think about that. So she reacted as she usually did when someone had minorly inconvenienced her plans for the day, and flew right up to him with a cherry-red face and a load full of colorful tinkling that gave Mickey quite a few new choice words to ask Yen Sid about later on.
That was the strange part, really. Because Tink noticed after a few minutes of ranting that the mouse did seem ashamed, which would have only made sense if he actually understood what she was saying (about how he had interrupted her very important work, and nearly scared her half to blinking out). Tink stopped her rambling and, slowly, her fiery cheeks cooled. Now she was Curious. And if she was Curious, there was hardly room for being Angry.
With a flutter of her wings, she alighted onto the intruder’s nose and peered at him with scrutinizing eyes. Queen Ree had mentioned “The Gift” before–a phenomenon in which a Clumsy could understand the fairies’ distinct tinkling voices–but few of Neverland’s visitors possessed its talent. Peter was one of those few, of course, as was Hook (unfortunately). But just who was this strange newcomer who seemed to wield it, too?
She started when he spoke, and just barely caught enough to actually hear his name. Mickey, apparently. She didn’t know why, but the sound of it made her want to smile. Her wings flitted ever so slightly as she dipped in a tiny curtsy and introduced herself.
Tinker Bell. Er…Tink! Fly with you!
Mickey’s eyes sparkled, and he couldn’t keep from laughing at the sheer excitement running through his veins. A real life fairy! How lucky was he?
Tinker Bell laughed a bit too, having simmered down from her tirade. This new friend of hers was really something. But, as with most tinkers, it was difficult to keep her mind in one place for very long. Before she knew it, she found herself drawn back to the Lost Thing she’d been so unsuccessful in retrieving.
Mickey watched as Tinker Bell fluttered off his muzzle and darted instead to the rusty pair of glasses still buried in the sand. She looked lost in thought, and he realized she was still trying to figure out a way to retrieve the item. He couldn’t imagine why she’d want such a dirty, broken old thing, but figured he might as well help.
It took Mickey considerably less effort to pull the spectacles out of the sand and, when he did, Tinker Bell twirled around with such excitement that pixie dust landed all about his fur and robe. He let out a little yelp, scrambling for something to grip onto as he felt himself lifted off the ground. Tink, on the other hand, seemed less than concerned. She had been a bit distracted while inspecting the spectacles but upon seeing Mickey’s skybound state, she smiled widely and flew up beside him. After all, it had been a while since she’d had a partner to search for Lost Things with–it would be fun to teach someone else how to fly alongside her. Someone who wasn’t Peter Pan.
Meanwhile, the boy in question was having his own sort of adventure, though it wasn’t nearly as easygoing as usual. You see, when Tink had gone back to Pixie Hollow, her pixie dust had, clearly, gone with her. So Peter was left to journey about as anyone else might have, and now was faced with an arduous climb up Torth Mountain in search of treasure. It was the first real adventure he’d embarked on since Wendy had left, and the work might have done him some good had his mind not been set on such sour thoughts.
Who did that Wendy think she was, anyway, leaving adventures and fun behind to…ergh…grow up? Why, Neverland was ten times better than the world outside the Second Star. If she wanted to leave and become a boring, ol’ grown up then fine. His world was better off without her.
Of course, Peter didn’t really think that. But he was so unaccustomed to having someone he cared about do something he didn’t like, that he wasn’t actually sure what to think. It was much easier to assume that Wendy herself was the problem, rather than to admit that maybe his perfect world wasn’t so perfect to everyone.
At long last, Peter reached a ledge near the mountain’s peak and hauled himself over the last bit of rock to climb up on it. He wiped a bead of sweat from his brow and frowned. Flying would have been a whole lot easier but Tink was still being temperamental for some weird reason, and he wasn’t going to be the one to apologize. He’d done nothing wrong, after all.
Besides, here he was all by himself at the top of the mountain. The mouth of an enormous cave loomed before him and he cracked a mischievous smile. There was treasure in there for sure, and he didn’t need anyone else to help him find it. With a haughty sniff, Peter strolled inside the cavern.
Torth mountain was an interesting part of Neverland. It was one of the few places that never seemed to have much, if any, color, and this cave was no exception. Peter was not one to think things through but even he had to wonder why he’d never noticed the cavern before when he had explored Neverland countless times over. As the darkness surrounded him, a feeling of unease that he wasn’t used to settled in his stomach, and he found himself wishing very much that Tink was there to light the way.
All that vanished when, just ahead, a distinct orange glow came into view.
Treasure. Only not the kind Peter had thought.
The disappearance of all Peter’s qualms, and the rising temptation to approach this strange glow, was anything but chance. A deep, dark magic was at work, pulsating from the object to which Peter now made his way. Light fell across his face in an eerie streak as he studied it, and a strange grin crept across his lips. The object’s shape was like that of an egg, though dark and slick as obsidian. Fiery cracks made their way out from the surface it rested on, the source of its glow. Strangest of all, the closer Peter got, the bitterer his thoughts became.
If Wendy had been there, she would have certainly been the one to talk sense into him. But she was not, and that alone was enough to drive Peter’s selfish ignorance to dangerous levels.
With a thought of deliberate defiance, he reached out and grabbed the egg.
Outside, in the space just outside the Lost Boys’ hideout, Yen Sid stood straight up. He felt the change before anyone in Neverland noticed anything at all, but he knew at once that something terrible was about to happen. Slightly, Nibs, and Tootles, all of who seemed clueless as to Peter’s whereabouts, were arguing about something inconsequential when the sorcerer lifted his hands in a rush of magic to silence them. They looked at him with both frustration and confusion, wondering why they were suddenly unable to produce any sound. But in the wake of their own quiet, a distinct silence fell over all of Neverland.
Mickey had been clumsily making his way through Tink's flight lesson when a deafening noise thundered across the island. It was enough to frighten away all his happy thoughts, if only momentarily, and he plummeted to the sand with a yelp. Tink remained hovering in the air, hardly moving as she stared up at one distinct part of the island where a plume of smoke and fire exploded into the air.
Torth Mountain was on fire.

“M-AMA” è il singolo dell’artista e cantautrice Gea, vincitrice della categoria inediti del Premio Nazionale Apulia Voice, fondato e diretto da Mimmo Taurino e dell’importantissimo riconoscimento “Premio Miglior Testo - Città di Taranto” e segna l’inizio dell’Ep dal titolo “Lunatica”, presente sui principali stores digitali e dal 21 giugno nelle radio italiane in promozione nazionale. Una produzione curata nei minimi dettagli, dall’arrangiamento raffinato ed elegante vestito da una chitarra acustica degna di nota che dona al tutto un forte impatto emotivo. Melodie che ben sposano l’impeccabile interpretazione di Gea, sentita e autentica, colma di sincera passione, che evidenzia una maturità artistica decisamente fuori dal comune.
“M-AMA” ripercorre la lotta interiore che con la crescita è in costante mutamento attraverso gli occhi di una Gea bambina che si trova magicamente adulta, ripercorrendo il suo passato e le sue difficoltà, in una realtà che non è dipinta nel modo in cui immaginava. Una denuncia nei confronti del sistema che attraverso il ritmo dinamico e l’influenza di diverse lingue come lo spagnolo ed il francese diventa la chiave per aprire la porta dei limiti della discografia italiana, dando vita non solo ad una rivoluzione interiore, ma anche a un’inclusione culturale che abbatta le barriere per rendere l’ascoltatore consapevole dei problemi all’interno della nostra società. Crescere, evolversi e costruire un proprio pensiero anche se significa andare contro gli ideali della propria famiglia e del proprio paese per disegnare la versione migliore di sé stessi.

“Lunatica” Unplugged è molto più di un EP, è la voce della rivoluzione che, in una chiave romantica contemporanea, invita la me delle diverse epoche e tutti coloro che si sono sentiti "diversi" almeno una volta nella vita, a trovare il coraggio di essere sé stessi per creare una propria dimensione nel quale sentirsi al sicuro dai giudizi della società, per essere liberi.
L’integrazione, la fantasia, la libertà d'espressione e l'amore sono elementi fondamentali che hanno caratterizzato la mia crescita personale e che mi permettono di sognare senza essere contaminati dal male. Sono questi, infatti, alcuni dei temi presenti nei brani: “M-ama”, “Dreamer of the time”, “Demons” e “Anche se Piovesse il male”; 4 brani mixati presso lo studio di registrazione “Sorriso Studios” di Bari, grazie al lavoro chirurgico di Tommy Cavalieri, produttore musicale e di Kekko Fornarelli Musicista, compositore e produttore.
Brani apparentemente diversi ma simili, parte della stessa anima ma con cuori diversi che parlano di me, di voi, di noi. L’EP possiede un sound Pop Folk ed Indie Country e nasce come un viaggio nel quale ho voluto catturare l'essenza della mia musica senza limiti in una chiave interamente acustica, quella che nella mia vita è stata l’essenza di tutto, unendo in modi e in mondi differenti le mie emozioni nei confronti della società, la mia visione interiore, le tenebrose esperienze che ho trasformato in luce e la mia formazione come musicista e batterista, riportandola costantemente nella ritmica e nel connubio tra doppie voci e incastri dinamici, cosa che penso sia alla radice del suono nella sua forma più naturale ancor prima che esso esista. Sono convinta che la musica sia un canale in cui, ciò che non conosciamo si presenti a noi in forma di melodia cercando, attraverso la natura, di rispondere alle domande che “ancor in core” non conosciamo ma che chi ascolta davvero traduce in suono ed emozioni. Infatti, Lunatica non ha una data di inizio e di fine; il brano che ha “vissuto” di più si intitola “Anche se piovesse il male” ed è figlio del 2015, ma contiene dei messaggi che, col tempo, sono diventati importanti per me, come un mantra e rappresenta qualcosa che avevo necessità di liberare da me. La scelta di scrivere in diverse lingue come l'inglese, l’Italiano, il francese e, un po', lo spagnolo mi appartiene di natura, poiché la mia scrittura nasce dal mio flusso di coscienza: libero, impenetrabile dagli schemi dal panorama della discografia italiana che prova spesso in tutti i modi a cambiare questa mia visione e di limitarmi alla lingua madre, con scarsi risultati data la mia forma di ribellione presente in questo lavoro. Questa diversità linguistica, infatti, riflette la mia visione di un mondo senza confini, dove la musica supera le barriere culturali e abbraccia l'universalità dell'emozione umana che, attraverso la scoperta di sé ed il rapporto intenso con la natura, mi fa sentire libera in una realtà di apparenze.

What Guts is for Griffith
a dispassionate analysis written for a better understanding of both characters and of Berserk
Part 8: You were the only one who made me forget my dream

Last year I started writing down my thoughts about Berserk, with some difficulty I must add, in part because I am writing in my second language. Clumsily, I started putting out some ideas in a series of meta, a work in progress for a manga that isn’t finished. I was rereading Berserk because, after Miura’s passing, when publication restarted, I decided I really wanted to know how the story would have ended. Devilman without its final chapter would be a very different manga. I am fully aware that every assumption I have made about Berserk could be completely rendered false by its ending, but nevertheless by trying to understand better what is going on at the moment I hope I will able to understand any eventual ending [and I have some predictions, but today I am just lying down a little bit of ground work].
The character arc most developed at this moment seems to be Griffith’s story:
The Golden Age saw his rise and fall as a remarkable but ultimately common man that was chasing an exceptional dream;
The Eclipse saw his transformation into something no longer human but existing on a separate plane, let’s call it the dream reality, that will progressively begin merging with the reality known to the other human characters, let’s call it historical reality (or material reality);
The Conviction arc brought Griffith back into the historical reality as a reincarnation, able to interact again with the world from inside and outside the dream reality, the separation between planes becoming thinner and thinner;
The Falcon of the Millennium Empire arc saw Griffith carrying out the dream he had when he was human to its completion, causing the merger of the dream reality with the historical reality into a new world called Fantasia.
This is where we are at now, and any analysis becomes more difficult because we don’t know which direction the story will take from here.
What can be noticed about Berserk is that Griffith’s ability and his willingness to dream has been the driving force all along, transforming him into a demiurge, responsible for the reshaping of reality itself.
I believe that every time an Eclipse happened in Berserk, the same reshaping and recreation of the world followed: but the dreams and the will, that were the motor of the shifting reality, have always been arbitrary and tied to the particular, egotistical and impulsive nature of the dreamers that came before Griffith. His predecessor could either be Void or Skull Knight: many people have said it’s Void, but that would mean that, in the millennium previous to the start of our story, none of the members of the God Hand was reincarnated. I prefer the hypothesis that Skull Knight is a reincarnation of one of the God Hand like Griffith is and that he went rogue, going against the God Hand and the laws of causality connected to it.
In this hypothetical scenario, Skull Knight isn’t a sacrificial witness that survived Void’s Eclipse ceremony, like Guts and Casca, but he was the one who sacrificed the people at the bottom of the Tower of Rebirth in Midland, or he sacrificed his beloved, the Lady Priestess of the Cherry Blossoms, among them. He was part of the God Hand, in the dream reality, until, like Griffith, he was imperfectly reincarnated as the ambiguous being of today, able to interact outside of the dream reality the Hand of God is normally confined in. His interactions with the historical reality could have been limited in scope, if we consider Griffith’s achievements, or he could have built his empire after his ceremonial, until Void became a new member of the God Hand. We don’t know how it went, how Skull Knight’s reincarnation happened, only that Flora was involved in a ritual and she had to break fundamental rules to do it. At the Conviction Tower many elements have converged to remake Griffith as he is now, including the dream, the will and the body of an Apostle, Egg of the Perfect World, and the corrupted fetus born from Casca. As arbitrary the dreams of the people who used a Beherit are, the circumstances of Griffith’s reincarnation have a degree of abnormality and risk outside of the control of the God Hand’s domain. That could be why only one of five members of the God Hand goes through a second ritual.
But if the Egg dreamt of a perfect world, Casca’s baby would have a dream too, probably of being a normal child and be reunited with his parents. Consider how Casca and Guts are also anomalies in the world post Griffith’s Eclipse: they are surviving despite being marked by the brand of sacrifice. The protagonists of Berserk since the early chapters are those who are exceptions to the rules of causality, those who are doing something outside of the control of the Hand of God.
I have said that I think that Skull Knight has gone rogue at some point after his reincarnation: he is facilitating a series of abnormalities and diversions in order to unmake or divert the course of causality as dictated by the darkness of human desires and fears. I am interested in his motivations, since something similar might happen to Griffith. And Skull Knight is shown to remember and maybe have regrets about losing his beloved.
A detail that immediately caught my attention: before Skull Knight could take Guts and Casca to safety, from inside the dream reality of the Eclipse ceremony, Griffith had a chance to kill them or to try to get to Skull Knight, and stop him. He raises his hand but doesn’t do anything.
Having Casca and Guts alive isn’t irrelevant at all to Griffith. They are the two people who were the most important for him before and we know that he isn’t indifferent to them. After his reincarnation, Griffith’s heart beats heavier in front of Guts and he is unable to stand Casca’s touch after their reunion on the Hill of Swords. Whether the new connection with Casca is built around her having mothered a part that is in him now or guilt or regret raising from underneath a careful construed detachment, whether other feelings for Guts are still there, it is still interesting to see that the survival of the people marked by the brand isn’t of little consequence.

With the creation of Falconia, Griffith seems to have succeeded, but since the beginning of the story, his dream was nothing more than an illusion: the illusion of equality, the possibility of scaling up the social hierarchy. And Falconia seems to offer the same kind of illusion, of opportunity, of wealth, of progress, for those who inhabit it, but not for those who are outside of it. [I’ll leave the multiple parallels to the real world outside of this analysis, but they aren’t difficult to see].
When Griffith was alive and human, he was able to doubt himself, almost forgetting his dream: jumping into danger to rescue Guts, asking for a second opinion, uncertainly and unsuccessfully looking for warmth and human connection. Until the most recent chapters, that ability to feel, doubt, regret, anything at all, was seemingly gone or hidden and buried so well that those residual emotions wouldn’t have mattered. But Griffith indulging the Moonlight Child - voluntarily or not doesn’t make a huge difference, because he is the Moonlight Child - going back to spend time with Casca and Guts: those actions that occur during the Full Moon, imply that a part of Griffith is still vulnerable or reachable. [At a later time, I’d like to write about all the symbolism of the Moon in Berserk].
I started this article with the images of Schierke trying to look at Griffith’s projection in the astral plane: a dimension that exists outside of the dream reality and outside of the historical reality [all things are projections, remember Skull Knight’s speech to Guts?]. That sequence, that came out after Miura’s passing, is one of the most interesting of the Fantasia arc, in my opinion.
Griffith’s image of impassivity and detachment is contradicted by his astral projection, as Schierke and Farnese note: Such terrible power. Its very being is like a maelstrom, consuming all. All Griffith’s human emotions are part of the raging vortex. This opens up a world of possibilities for Griffith’s further development, that in my opinion hasn’t reached a conclusion. And he certainly hasn’t achieved anything of value: Griffith’s story is one of the most appalling tragedy I have read. It is inevitable that it continues to hold up and is the most powerful force driving the manga. He has never been a god, or a devil, and only the readers able to see and keep in mind the full humanity of Griffith, can maybe agree with my interpretation of this complex world of illusion and delusion that is in Berserk. I am open to the possibility that a part of Griffith is aligned with the original dream of the Moonlight Child, to be reunited with Casca and Guts in a warm embrace, that when he was alive he had longed for too.

This panel showing Zodd in Fanconia is impressed in my mind for a few reasons. One being, has he always been attractive? Another, I wonder if he is starting to get suspicious or doubting Griffith’s reasons for bringing Casca back with them.
Casca in Fanconia is shown as living in a dreamlike state. But Falconia is the result of the Griffith’s dream reality merging with the human world. The mark of sacrifice might let Casca and Guts see the interstices.
