ok i watched episode 16 of trigun 98 and i have a Few Thoughts, but the biggest ones are:
HE PISSSED ON THE MOOOOOON
&
Is This Some Sort Of Twisted Christian Science?
no joke i had to pause the video for the twisted christian science thing bc i was laughing so fucking hard i was nearly choking. thanks, rai-dei
& of course the Moon Beam which was expected. what WASNT expected was the fact that Legato caused it instead of Knives. but knowing what happened in chapter 32 of trimax, it's not entirely out of the realm of the manga's canon either. but i Am sad about how we didnt get to see the #Looks both Vash and Knives served in the fifth moon incident in the manga. man.
interesting implications all around. im wondering where the Fuck knives is, bc we saw in the manga that he was regenerating, but now it's like. where tf is he, actually? we've only gotten snapshots of him so far. the briefest of thoughts. episode 16 and we're only just now getting direct confirmation that Vash is VERY not human (plus a confirmation that July was set 23 years ago in the anime, which is an added weirdness for new watchers who dont know about him being functionally immortal)
preview of the next episode shows that it's Backstory Episode. im done watching for today but im looking forward to seeing what the anime sets for that
#speculation nation#fanny watches trigun#trigun spoilers/#still laughing at the twisted christian science. it's like. honestly? he's not that far off#considering the plants are like. angelic in nature. and also genetically engineered beings.#which that sure sounds like some twisted christian science to me!#love that this is the first time we actually see wolfwood kill someone too#all the times we've seen him before this in the anime he's spared ppl bc Vash was there#but he just shot rai-dei no problem. kablammo#a lil sad it's not accompanied by the vashwood argument & iconic gun to head moment. but ya win some ya lose some i guess#overall im watching this without expectations of it following what im familiar with in the manga#for the original manga it was taking the events and shuffling them around Anyways#and now that we're beyond the original manga. all bets are off. i have no idea where things are going from here on.#im genuinely pretty surprised by the fact that they changed the location of the fifth moon incident#like why move it to Augusta instead of Jeneora? Augusta is Not Close to Jeneora either#a good 1000km if im remembering right. quite a ways to travel.#it's interesting to see the view of Augusta. bc i dont think it's shown in the manga. hmm#this makes me wonder where the fuck Lina & Sheryl are living. bc it's not May city and it's not Augusta. but it's close to Jeneora#Jeneora is the way point between May and Augusta. that's stated in the manga.#but if it's not Augusta and it's not May. where is it? some random tiny town that happens to be by Jeneora?#idk. many questions. the anime is only making my idea of geography in this damned manga even more convoluted#i do really need to put together that official resource for myself for notes on locations. ive been idly collecting things for this purpose#bits here and there. any mentions of locations. and there are so many. but so few definite facts for where any of this is#oh trigun why must you be so convoluted... why couldnt we get a fucking MAP... and no im not counting tristamp's map#theyve changed shit anyways. i want to know where shit is in the MANGA ok#many thoughts. i am so frustrated by geography. Tank glams on my Roe, Skalbryda
I'd argue that Femroe is the defacto best female race in armor due to what are normally the races biggest weaknesses (criminal lack of hips and ass that ruin most femme clothing thats already stretched to shit on their model and the chunky arms and legs), because they are just so fuckin biggg
@running-away-now's meow meow T'siqa
I fanta'd off of them after EW for a few reasons (big factor was wanting to wear femme clothes), but also it felt like the obvious end of a story to retire Skal and let her live at my house and go fishing, which I could sort of wave over and say that her daughter took over...but 6.1 and onward is the exact same narrative beats and elements as before with the same characters but now they aren't "the Scions", and Y'sayle is replaced
So at this point I do wanna go back to Skal as it doesn't really matter if the plots just "you and these characters you like are going to fantasy australia" and I miss the big armorrrr
Also this was an accident and awakened something in me
#If they just let you share items between characters I'd have 45 characters#Emet-Selch's speech really doesn't hit the same when the next thing we then do is fight the most generic evil man we've seen yet#Which is fucked considering Golbez is the real OG but he's maybe the seventh big guy in armor we've seen and he's B-tier at best#We cleared Fanny and Zodiark like a mini-boss to try and ramp up to...a bird whose driving motivation is "I'm a sad uwu anti spiral???#And then it's just look at these pretty zones and now it's time to do a Gurren Lagann???#If EW ended with a costume change and a mech fight with a Galaxy sized Shinryu I'd have been way more hype#Zenos was wasted by EW and I'd have rathered he stayed dead. I say this as someone who would have fangirled over him joining the Scions#xiv#ffxiv spoilers#ffxiv endwalker#ffxiv screenshots#ffxiv#that zenos fight is 10/10 tho real shame they forgot to give him any value to endwalkers plot except for you to stand on his back#and not in the fun way

When it comes to Fanny Price, the difference between me and the general public (at least online) is that they are all, "She's so weak and pretentious and annoying, why can't she just stand up for herself?" and I'm like, "She's so scared and beaten down and sad. I want to stand in front of her as a shield and wrap her in blankets. Is six enough to make her feel sufficiently snuggled and warm?"
And honestly, I can barely even understand the other side. How did you read Mansfield Park all the way through and decide that Fanny Price was the character to hate? There are so many other choices!
#fanny price defence squad#mansfield park#jane austen#fanny price#I worry that she needs more blankets#I will build her a nest of blankets#sometimes I wonder if people hate encountering weakness#but my response to weakness is to protect#I don't get “I see weakness and I hate it/want to hurt it more”

You Don’t Go To Parties Anymore
Pairing: Kate Bishop x Reader
Word Count: 794
Summary: Kate looks for you at her birthday party and then remembers she ruined the relationship the two of you once had
It’s Kate’s 23rd birthday party. Her stepdad is there. Clint and his wife Laura are there. Lucky is there. Yelena and Fanny are there. Everyone she loves is there except you.
Kate sits down on her couch, despite the joyous occasion, a feeling of sadness overtakes her. The one person she really wanted to celebrate with isn’t here and it’s all her fault. She’s the one who pushed you away. She’s the one who broke your heart, shattering it into a million unfixable little pieces.
So at her own birthday party Kate drowns her sorrows and before she knows it, it’s only her in her apartment. Her birthday has since passed and it’s now 5am. She’s sitting down on her couch, thinking about you and how it all went wrong.
Your relationship had started out great. The two of you were just two college students, having met in a business administration class after being paired together for an assignment. The two of you had hit it off. From there you started going on dates, getting drunk together on the weekends, going on picnics, and doing cutesy little things together.
Then Kate’s life changed. She became the new Hawkeye, her mother went to jail, and she had all of this responsibility thrust onto her.
The two of you had been fighting one day. What once was a rare occurrence in your relationship turned into an everyday thing. Kate normally started the fights, and thinking back on it she’s not sure why.
She loved your relationship. She loved spending her days with you doing nothing but enjoying each others presences. So she’s not sure why she told you differently. She doesn’t know why she had to blow her relationship up the way she did. But she had done it and now she has to live with the consequences.
Sometimes she thinks she just misses the days when the two of you were young and carefree. Maybe she just wanted to blame someone for everything that had been going wrong in her life. Her mom had just gone to jail and she had felt so alone. You just so happened to be there at the wrong time. If Kate could take back all of the mean words she had said to you she would.
“I just feel like I’m drowning and you being here makes everything worse. You’re always here smothering me in attention and loving me. It’s too much. This just isn’t working,” Kate had said, gesturing between the two of you.
“I just can’t. I don’t even know how I feel about you anymore. I think sometimes I resent you. You’re just a constant reminder of everything that I want and can’t have,” Kate said, detailing all her grievances of you. She goes on and on, her words becoming sharper the longer she talks. She was drunk and you both knew it, but it didn’t make her words any less painful to hear. It’s like they say, drunk words are sober thoughts. And if this is what she thought of you, you didn’t want to be with her.
She continues goes on and on, ignoring the tears falling down your face until you finally snap.
“I’m trying to be here for you Katie. I know you’re going through a lot but you’ve been treating me like shit lately. I’ve tried to forgive you, but this is crossing a line,” you sob out.
Kate finally looks up and she sees tears cascade down your face. She goes to get up, to comfort you, but you tell her to not.
“Just leave me alone,” is all you say. You get up and walk out the door to your shared apartment, slamming it behind you.
That was the last time Kate saw you. You had sent her a text the following morning saying the two of you were done. Then a couple days later you had some friends pack up and grab your stuff.
From what Kate had seen on social media you seemed happy. You had a new girlfriend, you were always out with friends and having fun. While Kate spent her days wallowing in self pity all alone. But maybe that’s what she deserved.
Kate spent all of her time alone. She never went out anymore, unless it was to do some super hero work. Or if Yelena dragged her out to a club or a bar. But even then she didn’t enjoy it the way she used to.
As time moved on and Kate went to therapy, she realized she had been projecting her own issues on to you. She had hurt you and now you were gone. So while you lived a happy life without Kate, she wasted away in your once shared apartment.

What we were
Summary: After losing Clint, your marriage and family begins to fall apart. Will Natasha be able to go back to what you once were?
A/N: This is going to be four chapters, but most of it is written. It’s a mix of angst, hurt and comfort. Obvious warning, there’s a major character death. Natasha and R have a daughter.
Time was unforgiving.
It had been six months since you lost Clint. Two since you asked Natasha to move out.
Four hours of sleep was the most you could get each night.
Time heals everything, people say.
Then, how come, the more time passed, the worse you felt?
Thoughts like these invade your mind, even when doing the most mundane of tasks. Like now, when you’re waiting for your daughter’s school day to be over. Leaning over your black Mercedes, you wish that your injured leg could be less of a bother and instead of driving, you could walk to pick up Anya and get distracted by the sights of the city.
The school bell rings and the quiet classrooms are full of murmurs, books stored away and steps walking -some rushing eagerly- to the exit.
Impossible to miss, Anya’s red waves are the first thing you spot. Raising a hand, she says goodbye to her friends and walks your way.
“Hi, darling” you sigh against her head.
She’s getting taller and maybe next year she won’t let you hug her. Maybe she’ll even want to take the bus while you anxiously wait for her return home. But now, she’s still a sweet child and she still lets you run your hands through her hair.
“How was Debate Club?” it’s the first thing you ask, because she’d been preparing relentlessly to beat the other team.
“We won, obviously”
“We should celebrate” a voice joins the conversation. You’re so startled that you drop the car keys.
“Mom!” Anya says, wrapping her arms around Natasha.
It makes you happy that she’s not resentful even after everything that happened. That she can love so unconditionally.
She didn’t get that from you.
“I didn’t mean to interrupt” Natasha apologizes, finally looking at you. There’s a weak smile on your face, what else can you do? “I was thinking we could go shopping for that new game you wanted?”
“Can we please, Momma?” Anya turns to you.
“Sure. Have fun. But don’t spoil your appetite. We’re having lasagna”
“Mom, our favorite” Anya nudges the Russian and you look away.
“I’ll have her home by 6” Natasha saves you the embarrassment of being forced to invite her.
“Have fun” you wave goodbye, heart beating fast.
Breaking the speed limit, you rush home. But the tears start running long before you’re parked.
You look at your sad reflection in the rearview mirror.
Natasha looks better than the last time you saw each other.
Maybe all she needed was to be away from you, to be happy again.
--
Two glasses of wine later, you’re curled up on the sofa watching your favorite comfort show and feeling better.
“What’s up, Buck?” you answer at the second ring of your phone.
“Are you ok?”
You look at the half empty glass of wine and decide that no, you’re most definitely not ok.
“Sure, why you ask?”
“I just saw her driving with Anya”
“Mhm” you look at the clock. 5:55 PM. She’s trying to be a responsible parent, at least. “Yeah, she showed up at school today. It’s good that they spent time together”
“Want me to come over?”
“No, I don’t want you two fighting in my front yard. Thanks, though”
“I’ll stop by tomorrow, ok? And if you feel like it, we can go to that Broadway show on Saturday. I got us tickets”
“Thanks, Buck”
“Ok, she’s parking outside now”
“You followed them all the way here?” you jump out of the couch, looking out the window.
“What? I was worried!”
“Sometimes I think it’s not so great that you live a few blocks away, you weirdo”
“But then I bring coffee and scones and you change your mind”
“Yeap”
“See ya, doll”
“Bye, creep”
“Oh, come on!”
You let out a laugh at his protest. Wanda and Yelena have been texting you, so you scroll, smiling at the silly pictures of Fanny or the videos of Tommy and Billy doing their crazy science experiments.
“Hi, Ma” Anya rushes past you. “Gonna change for dinner”
“Mmkay” you nod, texting Bucky to make sure he’s actually back home, and not slashing Natasha’s tires.
“So…”
“Nat, jeez” you drop the phone, not even aware that she is still here. She looks at you across the kitchen island.
Don’t think how sad it is that she looks out of place here, where it used to be home.
Don’t cry in front of her.
Don’t.
“Sorry, I’ll say goodbye and leave”
“Anya, your mom’s leaving” you busy yourself in the kitchen, looking away.
“So soon?” the girl peeks around, pouting. “We haven’t even played the game yet”
“Would you like to stay for dinner?” you give up, unable to say no to your daughter.
“You sure?”
“Yeah, I’m always making extra anyways”
Because you were used to cooking dinner for three.
Anya is happy to set the table, but you sit next to your daughter, leaving Natasha in front of her. You try to stay focused on Anya and school: the debate club, sports activities, a month in Europe for the best students.
“Mom, do you think I can reach out to aunt Carol? I have some Astronomy questions”
Natasha immediately looks at you, but you’re hyper focused on the bottle of wine and pouring the last of it until your glass is filled to the rim.
“Uh, she’s not... I’m not sure where Danvers is, sweetheart. She left Earth a while back”
“Oh, ok” the girl nods, looking at you with a frown. “Mom, what’s wrong? Is your leg hurting? What did Doctor Cho say?”
Crap.
“What’s wrong, det…?” Natasha asks, looking at you. The pet name almost rolled off her tongue.
Everything. Everything is wrong, Natasha.
“That old injury from our outlaw days. Doctor Cho gave me some pain killers. But I don’t think I’ll take them, they make me too sleepy”
“We’ll do the dishes” Natasha jumps in. “Don’t worry about it”
“Thanks”
The dishes are the least of your worries, but it’s still a nice gesture.
Maybe when she’s finally ready to ask you to divorce her, you’ll be able to coparent.
“Here, let me” she asks as you approach with the empty glass of wine. “Did Doctor Cho say anything else?”
You sigh, leaning against the counter, watching as she washes the dishes.
“She said surgery might make the pain go away. Actually, there’s a 90% chance it will work. But Anya’s got school and I’d have to do bed rest for at least five weeks. Maybe during winter break”
“I can take care of her. Drive her to school or cook dinner or…”
“You’re a terrible cook” you remind her. It’s meant to be a joke, but also a way to make her stop.
You don’t want to be a burden for someone who doesn’t want you anymore.
“Wanda could teach me”
“She’s too busy making sure the twins aren’t building a nuclear weapon in the garage”
“Is there anything I can do to help?” she asks, almost afraid of your answer.
“Can you take her to school tomorrow?” you finally say, without providing further details.
The truth is, you’ll probably cry until you fall asleep, because you miss Natasha and this is the first time you’ve seen her in two months.
And it would be better if you could sleep in, make an appointment with your therapist and then find a way to look composed by the time you have to pick your daughter from school.
“Absolutely”
“Thank you”
“You don’t have to thank me, Y/N”
The way she says your name makes you want to scream.
--
Natasha’s long gone, Anya sleeping peacefully back in her room.
You’re looking at the ceiling, tears rolling down your face and soaking your pillow.
You miss her so damn much. You love her so much.
And you also hate her. And you hate yourself for loving her.
There’s a soft knock at your door. You know it’s not Anya because she would have turned on the hallway light.
“Hey, weirdo” you look at Bucky from across the room, smiling sadly. He approaches you and wraps you in his arms. You sob against his chest, feeling like the sadness will last forever.
“I’m sorry”
“It’s ok. Let it all out. I’m here”
You don’t know when you fall asleep.
--
A lot has changed in such a short time, but by now, Anya is used to the sight of her uncle Bucky, rotating between the few breakfast foods he can make without burning everything.
“You read my mind” Anya watches as he makes blueberry pancakes.
“Has no one ever told you it’s rude to sneak up on people?” he mumbles, impressed at how silent she was.
“No, because my moms are spies and so is my uncle and my other aunt and basically half my family”
“Smart ass,” he chuckles. “Come on, eat your food before it gets cold”
“Did mom eat anything yet?” Anya sits on a stool, eating on the kitchen counter.
“Your mom’s asleep” Bucky says. In fact, you cried, had a panic attack, a couple of nightmares, woke up to drink some water and then fell asleep at 4 AM.
Basically, the usual for the past two months.
He’s so caught in his thoughts that he forgets to flip the last pancake. A knock on the front door snaps him back to reality.
“Can you turn off the stove? And pack your bag, we’re leaving in five…” Bucky yells over, opening the door without looking through the peephole first. He’s surprised to find Natasha on the other side “Can I help you?”
“I’m here to pick up my daughter”
“Does Y/N know?” He's holding on to the door so hard that the wood cracks.
“She asked me to drive Anya to school”
“Ok, I’m ready” Anya announces, aware that her mother and uncle aren’t on the best terms. She walks between them to make sure they won’t punch each other. “Bye, uncle, thanks for breakfast”
“Have a good day, sweetheart. See you Saturday”
“Right, for that musical, Beaglejuice”
“Shut up” he chuckles, kissing her forehead. Anya leans forward and hugs him goodbye.
Natasha is silent for most of the ride. Anya is looking out the window, uncertain of her mother’s mood. Maybe not saying anything is safer.
Three blocks away from school and Natasha hears herself blurting out what’s been on her mind this whole time.
“Does Barnes stay over a lot?”
“I guess” Anya mutters, still looking out the window.
“Well, do you know…”
The girl has enough, turning around to face her mother. There’s nothing but resentment in her eyes as she tells Natasha everything.
“Mom cries herself to sleep every night. Ever since you moved out, it's been hard for her to get up in the morning and act normal, let alone cook breakfast. So yeah, uncle Bucky is around all the time, just to make sure she’s at the very least alive. You’d know if you still cared about us”
“Anya…”
“I’ll walk the rest of the way, thanks for the ride” she mumbles, opening the door and rushing away. Natasha is stuck in traffic, so all she can do is watch her daughter from the car.
Just when she was starting to make things right, she fucks up again.
--
“Thanks for breakfast” you say, mouth full of pancakes.
“More like lunch” Bucky corrects.
You nod, reaching for the maple syrup.
“So, why’d you ask Natasha to drive Anya to school?”
“Is that why my door is almost broken in half?”
“I’ll fix it”
“You better” you mumble. He is still staring and you shrug your shoulders. “Just experimenting how co-parenting is gonna be when we officially divorce”
“So, you are asking her to divorce you?”
“She’s gonna ask me. Sooner or later” you keep your head down, playing with your food. You’re not hungry anymore.
“All things considered, the ball is in your court”
“Buck” you plead, dropping the fork.
“I’m just saying” he approaches your side. “You’ll only be able to heal once you know what you both want. But running away won’t help”
“You sound like my therapist”
“But does she cook you breakfast?”
“For what she’s charging me, she should, actually” both of you laugh. And damn it, you know he’s right. “Thank you, for worrying about me. And for taking care of us these past few months. I’m sorry I’m such a mess”
As if on cue, tears start streaming down your face. Bucky hugs you, kissing your head.
“It’s ok”
“I know you hate it when people cry, I’m sorry”
“Yeah, but I hate it a little bit more when you’re the one crying”
--
Luckily for your therapist, you’re all cried out by the time you reach her office. Instead, you discuss how it would be better to approach Natasha, who has always struggled with communication around difficult topics.
“I’m very happy with this session. We’ve made great progress” Doctor Thompson says and you put your fist forward.
“Fist bump” you encourage her.
“I’ll get my license taken away if we ever do this again”
For the first time in months, you leave her office feeling a little bit lighter.
Until you check your phone. 10 missed calls from Natasha.
“Nat?” you answer as she calls again.
“Is Anya with you?”
“I was about to pick her up from school” there’s a pause. “You did drive her to school, right?”
“Of course, I’m not an idiot” she shoots back.
“Well, I’m very confused because she’s only about to end her last class. Why would she be anywhere else, then?” you retort.
“Just meet me back home, ok?” she pleads.
“Fine”
She’s pacing on the sidewalk as you park.
“Care to explain?”
“The school called me an hour ago. She sneaked out after recess”
“Let’s just track her phone”
“It’s off”
“Well, fuck” you run your hand through your hair. “Did she say anything to you this morning? Did she seem upset?”
Natasha looks away, chewing on her bottom lip.
“I asked her if Barnes was staying over often”
“Natasha, for fuck’s sake” you sigh, turning away from her.
Don’t shout. You won’t solve anything by screaming at Natasha.
Your daughter is missing because your wife can’t keep her jealousy to herself. So fuck it.
“If you want to know anything, you ask me, Natasha, do you understand? You don’t go questioning our 13 year old daughter, who, by the way, has been through enough shit lately. I’m trying to protect her and you’re here implying I’m sleeping with the only friend who isn’t tired of me being a mess. Which, for the record, I’m not. And would never. Unlike you, I’m not going around fucking people outside my marriage because I’m having a hard time”
“I don’t know how to get close to you, Y/N. You pushed me out ever since…”
“No! You don’t get to put this on me. I tried for months. I tried everything. And you scoffed and ignored and stood me up. I gave up the moment I found you in bed with Carol”
Your voice breaks at the last part. That memory has been buried for so long; you want it to stay hidden, forever.
It doesn’t matter. You need to find Anya.
“What are you doing?”
“Calling Buck”
“I’m here. I’ll help you find her”
“I’ll find my daughter alone, thank you” you walk past her, waiting impatiently for your friend to pick up.
“She’s my daughter too”
“You sure as hell haven’t acted like her mother in a long time, Natalia”
You walk away, your back turned to her.
“Buck” you say, voice trembling.
“I know. She’s at the Met. Hasn’t left. I’m outside, just in case”
“How did you…?”
“I’m sorry. I was hoping I could convince her to come back before you found out she sneaked out of class”
“I’ll be there as soon as I can”
--
Again, those soft waves of red are the first thing you spot in the room. Her blue eyes are fixed on Degas and his Dance Class.
“Hey, kiddo” you stand next to her, understanding immediately why she’s looking at this painting. “We still have your ballerina shoes somewhere in a box. Your mom loved going to your recitals”
“I’m sorry for leaving school”
“I played hooky a couple of times. It’s part of life. I just want to make sure you’re ok”
“She doesn’t care if you’re able to get up in the morning but gets jealous because someone is taking care of us”
You sigh. Anya has Natasha’s heart, after all. She loves and protects fiercely.
“That’s not exactly true. Come with me” your daughter takes your hand as you leave the museum.
Central Park is still looking beautiful, even as fall approaches. Anya plops down on a bench and you take a seat next to her. A small groan leaves your lips. This damn leg.
“You know your mother was raised to be an assassin. The Red Room taught her that love was a weakness. And that she was incapable of having a family or people that cared about her. Even after all these years, insecurity can get the best of Nat sometimes”
“Why can’t we just… go back to what we used to be?” she mumbles, a tear rolling down her face.
“Oh, sweetheart” you hold her against your chest. “I want nothing more in this world”
“I miss her”
“Me too, Anya”
“It’s like we lost her the day uncle Clint died” she sobs.
“But she’s still here. And she still needs you, my sweet girl. I’m not saying you should forgive her right this second. But don’t build a wall around yourself, please”
“Ok”
“You know I lost my mom when I was 15. And a lot of that time I spent it angry at her for staying with a man that wasn’t good to us. But once she was gone, all I wished was that I had made her life a little easier”
“I’m sorry”
“It’s ok. I’m glad I’m here, to make sure you don’t make the same mistake I did. We’re gonna be alright, I promise”
“I love you”
“Love you too, kiddo” you keep her in your arms for as long as you can, but a light rain begins to fall. “Come on, now. Bucky’s been waiting for us”
“I know. I saw him following me on the bus here”
“My God, I don’t know which one of you is scarier”
Anya giggles, and you take her hand.
Even between all of this mess, she’s the one thing that makes everything worth it.
--
Anya was the one that texted her mother, apologizing and letting her know she was ok.
You didn’t reply to Natasha’s text. “I’m sorry” isn’t enough sometimes.
After pizza and an intense game of Jenga with Anya and Bucky, you call it a night.
You know what you’ll dream of tonight, but you’re too tired to care.

Episode one - the Yankee Dodge
Loved the the middle daughter oneshot.
can i request Jack Dawkins x Belle's older sister!Reader story (I have not seen any sister!reader) same thing as the oneshot instead of Belle being sick, the reader is. Reader is strong-willed, smart and stubborn as Belle, and Belle being a concerned sister to Reader, almost mothering her. Of course, Jack being an overprotective lover. I just want the story to stay the same way as the The Artful Dodger series is, just following the story only replacing Belle with Reader
A/n: I will do this as a long series following each episode per part. ❤️❤️
You follow your youngest sister into Belle's bedroom, Fanny jumped seeing her in the plague mask.
"Don't do that!" She gasped. You laugh from behind her.
"What?" Belle took the mask off and dropped it on her desk.
"Whatever that is." Fanny huffed, you passed behind her and slid onto the chaise lounge.
"You stormed in on me." Belle reminded her sister.
"What's that ungovernable stench?" Fanny scrunched up her nose. You started to lose interest in their conversation, a tightening of your chest took your attention.
"Your perfume?" Belle joked, "No, it's ether. The new Lancet reports the most extraordinary thing. You can give the patient ether, and they don't feel a thing. I mean, you can perform surgery without pain. It means we could finally help-" she had turned to face you finally seeing you clutch at your chest. Both of your younger sisters came darting to your side.
"y/n, what is it? Do you need a doctor?" Fanny scrambled.
"No, no I'm fine. I just need to lie down." You rest back against the couch and close your eyes. Belle reaches behind you to loosen your blouse and corset. You breathed slowly as Fanny once more tried to get Belle to meet a suitor. She had long given up with you, at six and twenty you were already considered a spinster.
The afternoon was spent much the same. Your mother insisted you take a small walk around the gardens. That would clear your lungs and head in her opinion. It only formed to make your legs ache if anything.
Soon after Fanny had you all standing outside the door waiting for the suitor she had found for Belle. The pompous dandy slid out of the carriage and started resiting awful poetry. You had to stifle my laugh.
You walked down the staircase that afternoon daydreaming to yourself.
"Belle?" You whisper. She shushes you and pulls you against the wall to listen. Your mother was talking about a surgeon, a navel man. Belle had that hopeful look in her eyes that always made you feel sad. She wanted so much to help you, had dedicated her life to finding a cure for you. Even when the numerous doctors told you it was nothing and you'd be healthy soon you both knew different. The strange pumping of your heart kept Belle's nose in the medical texts. A plan was forming in her mind, you could see it.
Your mother and father ushered you both into the parlour were Mr Smales was sat reading. Fanny followed you all in. Lady Jane all but shoved Belle to the chair beside Smales and he began reciting more poetry to her. He asked if she'd like to play the harp, little did he know that it was only you who played the harp amongst your sisters. Belle had once played the violin but it had been years since she had picked it up.
My sister huffed and marched across the room. Your mother stopping her.
"talk to him about hospitals." She hissed.
This finally peaked her interest.
"Come, we're going to see the hospital. I've never been, and I've always wanted to. We should take Y/n as a chaperone." She sent you a grin. You followed her out to the carriage with Smales tottering along behind you both.
"Belle, what are you playing at?" You whisper to her.
"I just want to look at it." She grinned once more
As we rode along Smales kept trying to talk with her.
"do you like to dance?" He asked.
"No." Belle's voice was flat.
"Croquet?"
"Snore."
"Fox hunting?"
"Very much, no!"
"Oh. Why?"
"It's mindless, barbaric, and cruel." You interject. Smales turns up his lips at you.
"What about you? Chemistry? Geology?" Belle asks.
"Oh, yes. With the maps." Smales said animatedly.
"No, the rocks, but close."
You hear the Carriage rider urging the horse.
" Anatomy?" Belle continued.
"Poetry?" She suggested in a tired tone.
"Yes!"
"Yes! Anyone other than yourself and Wordsworth?" She groaned.
"Such as?"
The Carriage Rider shouts for someone to Move aside, but you all feel the tell tail bumping of someone going under the carriage.
Both you and Belle are quick to jump out. A young boy is on the ground his leg broken open with the bone protruding from his skin. The poor lad was screaming. As Belle checked the wound you kneel behind him and place his head in your lap, attempting to comfort him.
"Help! We need a doctor!" Belle called out.
"Okay. Um, you're okay. You'll be all right. You're doing great." You hold the boy's hand.
"Coming through, coming through! Here." A tall, thin man came rushing up with a leather bag.
"Thank God. I've put a tourniquet on." Belle explained.
" It's not tight enough. I need something to tighten it with. Um... " he looked around, Charlie, the boy whimpered. The doctor put a hand on his face, his fingers brushing yours.
" It's all right. I'm gonna sort you right out."
"Can you fix it?" You ask.
"I'll need to amputate."
" What about Bircher's procedure to save it?" Belle pulled his attention
"Miss, please."
"M'lady." She corrected him.
"To do that, I would need to drill into his leg bones, and insert pegs to knit them back together again. He would die of shock and pain." The doctor explained hurriedly
"Not if you take the pain with ether." Belle said. You shot your eyes between them.
"The Yankee Dodge? That is unproven." He bit back at her. As they argue you quickly run to your driver and speak with him before going back to the doctor.
"lift him into the carriage, he cannot stay in the street." You command him. The doctor looks up at you and nods. He scoops Charlie into his arms and you help get the child into the carriage. Your sister climbs in after you both and the carriage pulled away. The pair continued to argue with each other as Charlie squirmed on your lap.
"for goodness sake, will both stop your squabbling. This child will not be losing his leg today. You are the surgeon we have heard about and as such I assume you will be able to do the operation." You say commandingly.
"the prof does not allow it." The doctor finally admitted.
"well, we aren't going to the hospital." You smile as the carriage pulls to a stop.
"Why? He doesn't have much time." He looked out the door, "What are we doing here, you ridiculous woman?"
" This is the Governor's residence." You say.
"Oh, God. You're the Governor's daughters aren't you."
"yes. Belle go in and make sure the way is cleared." You tell your sister. She nods and runs off to the house.
"This is completely arrogant of you both." The doctor growled. "I can't perform an operation here. I need surgical equipment."
You turn round to him, causing the doctor to retreat back toward the carriage.
"there is no need to threat, Doctor. My sister has all the supplies you could need." You say with a finger in the middle of his chest.
"oh, hello looks like we're good to go." Fagin said pointing behind you.
The doctor and Fagin grabbed the boy by his legs and arms, carrying him into the house. Belle had her arms full of her equipment. You can hear your father and his guests beginning to descend the staircase.
"There's no time. We're gonna have to do it here. Set him down." The Doctor said.
" What?" You and Belle said together.
"It's not ideal... Fagin, clear that table. It's all right, Charlie. Okay, all right. It's all right."
In a moment of panic you stepped away from the doctor and addressed your father's guests.
"Ladies and gentlemen! The entertainment. For our main event, I have a very special treat for you." You look over your shoulder at the trio, "Dr. Dawkins will perform an operation, never been done before. Where an inferior cowardly surgeon might just simply remove the leg, Dr. Dawkins will make a thousand years of history by trialling surgery with no pain. The Yankee Dodge!"
A murmur of adoration waved through the crowd. The Doctor's eyes locked with yours for a moment. You nodded to him and he began his work. Fagin, the older man with him, tiptoed away from you all, up the stairs. You step closer to the table stroking Charlie's hair as he whimpers again. Dawkins lent closer to you and Belle.
"If I get hanged for this I'll haunt your every waking moment. I'll be that face you see in your nightmares and trust me, you will only have nightmares."
You can't help but smile.
"Do shut up and ether the patient." Belle quips. You stay at Charlie's head letting your sister address the crowd.
"Watch closely, everyone. As Dr. Dawkins anaesthetises the boy, takes his pain..."
"You're fine." Dawkins reassured the boy.
" ...and then operates with no sensation." Belle had a flare for the dramatics you thought to yourself.
Holding the either mask in his hand Dawkins spoke once more to Charlie, "Now, just breathe. There, we go. That's it. Good lad. Right."
The operation began
Belle was able to find an ivory stick to use as the pin for the bones. You had to admit he was impressive in his work. The crowd oohed and ahhed at his every movement. When he was done and the wound stitched Dawkins reached up to Charlie's face, " Now, ladies and gentlemen, can we rouse him from living death? Charlie? Come on, Charlie. Charlie. Come on, Charlie. Come on. Charlie. Charlie. Come on, Charlie boy."
You were all beginning to panic, your eyes flicking to your father's disapproving face.
"Don't cut me, Doc! I need me leg!" Charlie called out. You released the breath you were holding and smiled at the Doctor.
There is a moment where the room is in awe, every man and woman there thought to congratulate the Doctor until one woman spoke up. Her ruby necklace had been stolen from around her neck. You sighed, knowing instantly what had become of it. Captain Gaines began searching people. Your chest tightened and you put a hand on the table to steady yourself. The Doctor took hold of your arm.
"You all right?" He asked his professional concern showing.
"Yeah. Yes, it's just the ether fumes. Take me upstairs?" You say leaning into him.
" I've got you." He says beginning to lead you away.
"All right. I'm sure you won't mind if I search you?" Gaines says to Dawkins.
Belle steps between them, "Captain Gaines, move aside. My sister is not well. Move aside."
You pant and rest more of your weight on Dawkins. Gains reluctantly stepped aside allowing Dawkins to escort you upstairs to your room. Belle hot on your heels.
"Are you well? Who's your doctor?" Dawkins asked once in your room.
"Prof." Belle answered.
"Has he ever examined you?" He helped you to sit in a chair.
"He's too scared of my father to get it wrong." You say, your hand is still in his. Dawkins glances back at Belle.
"Take off your dress. I need to listen to your back. Take off your dress."
Belle comes over to help you remove your clothing until you were in only your bloomers and chemise. She grabbed a stethoscope from your table and handed it to Dawkins. The doctor sat behind you on the lounge sofa, placing the cold metal to your back.
"Now, just breathe steady. Just breathe with me. In," his voice is low and soft, his breath fanning over the back of your neck, "And out. Good. Again. In. Out. Okay. Gonna come around the front. Once again. In. Good, and out. In. Out."
Belle frowned, she knew what he was hearing.
"You're a common thief. Shall I call Captain Gaines now or later?" You say glancing back at him.
Dawkins drops the stethoscopes "No. No, no. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait." He runs to stop Belle from leaving the room, "Darius cheated me at cards. He's gonna take my hand if I don't pay him a ludicrous debt."
"Then pay him with your own money!" Belle argues.
"With what money? I get paid in pennies and thimbles." He is almost begging.
Footsteps can be heard down the corridor.
"You've got two options. I yell "guards" and you get hanged." You begin.
"Not ideal."
"Or you make my sister the first female surgeon and we keep your secret. That or the noose." The door knocks. "Well?"
" I'm thinking."
Part two soon.

What I love about Ghosts is how much of a slow burn the enemies to found family is. Yes there's a pretty big leap from "tried to kill her" to "forced allies of convenience" in the first two episodes, there needs to be to set up the premise, but after that there's such a gradual build up to a real cosy feel in the group.
It would have been so easy to have this dynamic reach its peak by the end of S1. There's a few soft moments like Alison talking to Pat's family and the Friends sofa bit outside but only after Pat explains to her how important the moonah ritual is to Robin. But it's not enough to make them that close yet and in the finale the ghosts mostly want Alison to stay for their own convenience, except Kitty and Thomas, with Fanny only just beginning to accept Alison is part of her bloodline. Captain still wants them gone but concedes to help them stay more for the others. Alison is touched by the gesture of the jewel but still admits that it's a nightmare living with them and wants to leave - and only stays because Captain screws her over via manipulating Kitty.
S2 starts with her waking up and sighing about how she's still "living the dream" (aka her nightmare). However, so we're not quite on the same page as last season, she has now established a routine with the ghosts and knows what each of them need. There's a feeling of comfort beginning to creep its way in, even if they still annoy her. And they're still not willing to help her at the drop of a hat, especially Julian unless he can get something in return, and some will go as far as to work against her when she's trying to make the house look haunted. Had the Grey Lady episode took place in S5 you know they would have all jumped at the chance to help Alison whatever she asked. But this series has a lot more episode focused on Alison connecting with the group like learning about how Thomas died and the Captain's past and Kitty's kinda sad childhood, so it feels natural and heartwarming when they all come together to help protect the house from burglars for her and she appreciates out loud how they're not as selfish as when she first came there. And they all do what they can to help with the wedding, partly for it to be a success for Alison but also just to help. Honestly on my first watch, with the snow and everything, I thought that was the Christmas special! So it lead in nicely to the actual one. Because the gang are finally at the stage where Alison would be comfortable spending Christmas with them and they all come together to sing with her to make her happy, even Robin who thinks Christmas is just a recent fad.
Series 3 is where that leap from friends to family happens and is contrasted with Alison thinking she's found a long lost blood relative, which she confesses is something she's wanted as she never had a lot of family around her. I like that they didn't have Lucy be her actual sister that turned out to be a villain, as we already have an abusive sister with Eleanor, but it still serves as a parallel between her and Kitty to make Alison realise that she has found a sister, and more. Robin saying "welcome home" and the look on Alison's face is enough to let us know this is no longer just a project for her with some annoying pests to deal with. And the final shot of them all "eating" together is one of my favorites.
The show could have easily ended there if it wanted to. Or it could have gone on another two seasons with everything being perfect and wholesome. But it doesn't; because families are not perfect. We still have an episode centered around the ghosts trying to apologise for upsetting Alison, much like a bunch of kids with an overworked mother, and they want to make it up to her not for their benefits but because of what she means to them. Episode 2 also has Alison missing feeling needed by the ghosts when they're busy doing their own thing and realising she just wants to spend time with them, even if it's just something as simple as a walk with Robin. And when Mary passes on, Alison is absolutely devastated and puts aside her work duties to prioritise helping the other ghosts grieve. Then there's her joining (evil) forces with Julian to take on Barclay together. And the series ends with Robin, who began the show just enjoying scaring the shit out of Alison for the lulz, confronting his ten thousand years old ptsd and taking a bolt of lightning to save her husband.
That's four years of development. Compare this to the CBS version where they all click together a lot faster and we don't see nearly as much of Sam losing her temper with the ghosts, and plots always seem to be wrapped up so much quicker (the fact there was no apology from Thor for possessing her still irks me). This isn't necessarily a knock against the American version, their episodes are ten minutes shorter because of ads, and it's more of a style choice as well as Sam just being a far more patient character than Alison. I know a lot of people prefer that the show begins a lot more wholesome to start with so it's down to taste. For me the heartwarming moments mean so much more when they've been earned over a lot of struggle.
Take the climax of Series 5. It's one of the few moments of TV that have made me gasp out loud. I genuinely forgot that we never saw Alison find out Julian pushed her. I guess I assumed she found out off screen or worked it out when she realised Julian's ghost power. But it really was the perfect point for her to find out; because had it happened any earlier then she wouldn't have hesitated to leave with no amount of speech able to change her mind, and likewise Julian wouldn't have had anything to say to her. But as someone else pointed out, it's much more difficult to forgive someone you love for doing something truly evil, even if at the time you were less than strangers. It's a crushing betrayal for Alison to find out that someone she thought as family once tried to kill her but also that the rest of them kept it secret. There's no obligation or pressure for her to forgive them; but she chooses to, because it's been earned over more than three years. And to parallel the S1 finale, the other ghosts are desperate for her to stay (including Cap this time), no longer for their own convenience but just because they love her.
And now we wait in terror for the Christmas episode to rip all of it to pieces. 🥺

Thoughts on Inside Out 2
Also known as Pixar Showing Off Their CGI Again
Pretty sick how you can see multi-color memories in the first scene as a follow-up to the end of the first movie where they discover that memories can be associated with multiple emotions.
It only took a few seconds in the pit for me to remember that Bing Bong is fucking gone.
"I'm Brie." "I'm Grace." "I'm gay." "You're purple." -Me, too quietly for anyone to hear (in case you can't tell, I still think about IF sometimes)
Maybe adding a "We're Blasting Off Again" chute wasn't the best idea.
In the scene right before they pull into the high school parking lot, you can already see orange buttons on the console.
The shot of Joy being like "There's nothing to worry about" while there's literally a wrecking ball in the window should be a meme.
It's very fitting that they made Anxiety just a creature.
Embarrassment might be big, but he's just a lil guy.
Then there's Envy, who actually is little but not in a cute way. More like an Aquamarine from Steven Universe way. In fact, she might just be Aquamarine.
Le Console App
They have an old lady living in the closet.
Biggest jumpscare of 2024: 2D animation in a Pixar movie.
Second biggest jumpscare of 2024: PlayStation graphics in a Pixar movie.
Anger just said, "FUCK DA POLICE."
I wanted Sadness to show up in headquarters and say "Surprise, motherfucker."
I was the first person to laugh at the Sar-chasm, and then everyone else started laughing. I feel like that happened multiple times, actually.
After Anger called Joy delusional, I fully expected her to say "what the fuck did you just say to me?"
Let Joy say fuck.
How self-aware of Disney to include a scene in an animation sweatshop.
I was wondering how they were going to top Riley running away in the first movie. Turns out the answer is breaking and entering.
Why does a fanny pack from a preschool kids' show have that much dynamite in it?
Anxiety? Did you mean Sonic the Hedgehog?
So what I'm getting is that the moral of the story is I Am All of Me.
You wanna talk anxiety? Let's make Inside Out 3 about Riley getting her driver's license.
Overall, 9/10 movie. Pouchy <<<<< Toodles

Do you love her more than me?
Summary: "Are you cheating on me?"/ "What? I could never."
Word count: 1800ish
Warnings: Angst-y,fluff,no beta'd 'cos Im sick
Masterlist
"We can't let Natasha know," Wanda said, panting.
"I know Wanda, I know, but I don't want to lie to her face," you answered, panting as well.
"It's the only way." "If Natasha ever finds out, she'll be so fucking mad at us."
"Just go faster, okay?" "Now we shouldn't be thinking about her."
"I'm going as fast as I can."
"I'll grab your hand so you go faster; we can't miss the bus!" You said, grabbing Wanda's hand and walking faster, making her follow you.
"I see the bus stop, Y/N; it's there," said Wanda, pointing to the sign marking the bus stop.
Just then, you saw the bus start to approach, so you pulled Wanda's hand and started to run faster, managing to get to the bus in time.
You quickly went to the back of the bus and gasped for breath.
"I really hope Nat likes the surprise, or I'll kick your ass for almost dislocating my shoulder," said Wanda, rubbing the affected area.
"I'm sure she'll love it. A puppy is precious. When she grows up, she can play with Fanny!" You said, your eyes sparkling with excitement.
"It would be nice to see them play," said Wanda, smiling. "But that doesn't take away from the fact that you owe me one for almost ripping my shoulder out."
"Sure, Wanda, I'll buy you lunch tomorrow. Anyhow, we had already planned to meet up."
"Sounds good to me," hummed Wanda in agreement.
"Well, the animal shelter is a bit far away, so it will still be a while before we get there."
"It's okay. "Get some rest, Y/N; you look like a truck ran over you."
"Ha,ha, ha, very funny, Wanda," you said sarcastically. "Having to do three reports in one night is not a very beneficial thing for my sleep schedule."
"Your sleep schedule is nonexistent."
You grumbled and leaned your head on Wanda's shoulder.
"Wake me up when we're getting there."
Wanda nodded and gave you a kiss on the cheek.
"Rest."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
You were awakened by Wanda's insistent shaking.
"Wake up; we're about to arrive."
You grunted and rubbed your eyes in an attempt to wake up.
"Look Y/N,the kennel is that way," said Wanda, pointing at a colorful sign. "Quite a colorful sign; it certainly catches the eye," she added, smiling.
"Yes," you replied. "Now all I need to do is drink coffee and look at those little fur balls."
When you reached the bus stop, you got off the bus and headed for the kennel.
Once inside, you got a coffee from the machine while you waited for the owner to show up.
"You must be Wanda and Y/N, right?" said a friendly voice. "I'm Linda; welcome to Little Paws Kennel; come on in and we'll show you the animals we have for adoption," said Linda, gesturing for you to follow her.
With a set of keys, she opened a door, and you entered a large outdoor courtyard where the dogs were playing.
"Wanda, look how cute they are!" You said, tugging at her arm "They are the cutest thing I've ever seen".
"I thought the cutest thing you've ever seen was me," said Wanda with false sadness.
"You're close," you replied, giving her a kiss on the cheek and making Wanda smile. "Which one do you think Nat will like the best?"
"How about that golden retriever over there?" "I think they'd make a good pair; Nat can be very grumpy, and the dog is a ball of energy."
"Totally!" you said, laughing. "They'll make an excellent couple."
You walked over to the little dog and started petting her.
"Hi little guy, would you like to come home with me? You'll have a great time." You smiled, stroking her soft fur and making the dog bark excitedly and lick your hands. "Look, Wanda, I think she likes me!"
Wanda laughed and came up next to you to pet the dog.
"So you chose her?" said Linda. "Excellent; she's one of our smallest dogs. Her mother died recently,so she could use someone to be with."
You nodded and took the dog in your arms, carrying it to the counter to formalize the whole process.
Once you were finished, you put him in his carrier and went to the bus stop to go home.
"You take the dog, Wands; I want it to be a surprise."
Wanda nodded, and you waited for the bus to arrive.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a while, you came home and opened the door.
"Nat, honey, I'm home!" you shouted.
When there was no answer, you went to the kitchen and looked to see if you could see her. You didn't see her, but there was a tupperware with a note stuck to it and food inside.
You uncovered the tupperware, and the smell of food flooded your nostrils. You grabbed the note and read it:
"Y/N,detka I left this for you. Homemade food, just the kind you like
You smiled and went to the bathroom to change into more comfortable clothes for dinner. You quickly finished the food Natasha had made for you and left the tupperware in the sink.
You went to the living room to see if you could see her,and you could. She was lying on the couch with a blanket covering half of her body while snoring lightly.
"Hello, my love," you said, kissing her forehead.
Natasha hummed and pulled you closer.
"It took you long enough to come; were you too entertained by work?"
"Uhm yeah" you stammered "work can be a bitch".
"Tell me about it," Natasha laughed. "Fury has an obsession with making me fill out reports."
"You want to go to bed? It's better than sleeping on the couch."
"I don't want to get up," Natasha grumbled.
"Don't worry about it," you said, scooping her up in your arms and carrying her to the bed.
You opened the door with your foot and tucked her into bed while you lay down next to her.
"Good night, Nat. Sleep well," you said, giving her a kiss.
"Good night, detka."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You should stop sending so much work to Y/N,Fury; yesterday they came home super late and they looked really tired."
"Natasha, yesterday Y/N asked for the day off." They said they had "business to attend to." "Didn't they tell you?"
"Uhh, no, they might have forgotten, although it's not something they usually do."
"Ask them. Natasha,I have to leave you; I have business to attend to," said Fury, hanging up.
Natasha frowned. It wasn't like you forgot to tell her those things. If you had a day off, you liked to spend it together.
"Y/N,detka, "Fury just told me you didn't go to work yesterday."
"Ehh,that's right. Sorry, honey, I was wrong," you said, moving closer to her to give her a kiss. "I wasn't very focused."
Natasha nodded and kissed you back.
"We can eat together today."
"Uh,sorry Nat,I promised Wanda I'd eat with her today."
"Oh, ok, no worries," Natasha said.
You nodded and gave her a kiss on the forehead.
"I'll see you later," you said, leaving your house.
Natasha couldn't get rid of the insecurity coursing through her veins.
First you didn't tell her you had the day off, then you went to lunch with Wanda, and you'd been more distant for a couple of days, which made Natasha a little afraid.
On a hunch, she decided to call Fury.
"Hey, Fury, do you know if Wanda took the day off yesterday too?"
"Mmh,let me see... Yes, she did. She said she had to do certain things. She wasn't very specific. Why do you ask?"
"No reason, thanks, Fury," Natasha said, and she hung up the phone.
Were you cheating on her? Natasha couldn't help but let her mind think the worst. Her insecurities and her fear that you would leave her for Wanda were growing. She sighed and went to bed. She climbed into bed, seeking comfort in sleep.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, you were at Wanda's house, playing with the little puppy, stroking her hair, and sorting out all the toys you had bought for her.
"Y/N, I think we've overdone it; we've bought her too many things."
"Don't say that, Wands. How can you say no to such a little face?" you said, holding the dog so she could see how cute she was.
"You're right." Wanda smiled slightly. "Her secret weapon is being too cute".
"This afternoon we'll take her to Nat; I'm sure she'll love her".
"Let's hope so."
Hours passed until it was time to present the dog to Natasha.
In a bag, they put all the toys, while Wanda hid her in her backpack, leaving it slightly open so that the puppy could breathe.
You went upstairs smiling, grabbing Wanda's shoulder, and laughing at the jokes she made.
You opened the door and met Natasha, who was looking at you seriously.
"Hey, hi love, what's up?" You said it nervously.
"Hi Y/N," replied Natasha. "Wanda," she said, greeting her with a nod, which she returned with a wave of her hand.
"Another day off with Wanda, huh? It seems a little strange to me."
"What are you talking about, Nat? Wanda is my friend," you defended yourself.
"Oh yeah? And why are you so late because Wanda takes the same days off as you? Why have you been so distant for a few days?" said Natasha, on the verge of tears.
"Nat, it's not what you think; Wanda and I are nothing."
"And you expect me to believe that? You've been super weird for days; what do you expect me to believe, huh? That I don't..."
Her voice was cut off by a bark.
"What's that?" asked Natasha.
"It was going to be a surprise for you, Nat," you said, pulling the puppy out of the backpack. "Happy first anniversary," you added, handing her the dog. "Wanda and I were just getting everything ready."
Natasha looked on the verge of tears.
"I'm sorry! "I thought you were cheating on me, that you didn't love me anymore," she said, tears starting to well up in her eyes.
The puppy didn't seem to like that and started licking her face, trying to cheer her up, which caused a chuckle.
"You're so cute, little girl," she said, stroking his fur gently.
"I'll leave you two lovebirds alone; enjoy the dog," said Wanda. "See you."
Once Wanda had left, Natasha rushed over to you, hugging you tightly.
"I'm sorry,really, detka. I thought you didn't love me anymore,that I wasn't enough for you."
"Hey,hey, don't say that, Nat; you're amazing; I love you; and it would never cross my mind to hurt you."
Natasha nuzzled against your chest, seeking comfort in your warmth.
"What name would you like to give her, Nat?"
"How about Festus? "It's Latin for festive, because the surprise made me really happy."
"You're such a nerd," you said, laughing and hugging her. "I think it's a perfect name, sweetie."
Natasha smiled.
"I love you, Y/N."
"I love you too, Nat."
Festus barked
"We love you too, little one".

Hey, I saw you wanted ppl to request some drabbles, and if that was something you still wanted, how about yn works in retail, but in a store that has the only brand of mac and cheese yelena likes, so finding out its sold out, but not wanting to see this attractive woman sad, yn asks for her details so she can call when they get some in. Which in turn she keeps the whole stock that comes in and calls yelena, and yelena wanting to thank her by asking her out. Bonus for a Fanny cameo? is this okay?
Drabble || Just For You
Pairing: Yelena Belova x Reader (Platonic)
Summary: When a new customer quickly becomes a regular to buying out as many boxes of the store's Mac n Cheese has you intrigued so when the store has none left, the blonde is disappointed she'll miss out on her favourite snack, until you assure her that next stock is all hers.
Fluff
Warnings: None, this isn't corrected or proof read. | 1K
AC: I love this so much!! Thank you for sending it!! I hope you enjoy this x
You saw the disappointment on her face as she made her way towards you at the check-out. You greeted her with a soft smile when she placed her items down.
"Hi, how are you today?" you asked as you grabbed one of the cans of dog food and scanned it. The woman sighed, "I see you're out of Mac n cheese" she replied.
"Yeah, unfortunately we sold the last few boxes in the lunch rush" you said, scanning her next item and placing it into a paper bag for her. The blonde comes in every few weeks and likes to buy at least eight boxes of Mac n cheese, it was very clear it was one of her favourite meals and the sadness on her face told you she was really looking forward to ending her day with a bowl of her favourite food.
"But, hey, I tell you what. I've seen you in here a few times so why don't you leave your name and number and when our stock delivery arrives in a few days I'll make sure you're the first person to get their hands on it" you added.
The green eyed woman's face lit up, she smiled, "You'd do that? for me?" she said, her Russian accent coming in thick.
"Of course. You're like the only person I have ever seen that buys more than two boxes of it" you replied making the two of you to chuckle before you handed her a piece of scrap paper and a pen. She wrote down her details while you scanned the rest of her items.
"That'll be $15.68" you smiled once more as she handed you back the paper and pen, "Yelena" you read, looking up at her.
"Y/n" she replied, looking at your name badge, you chuckled, "It's finally nice to put a name to such a beautiful face" you said. Your compliment took Yelena back for a moment, "well, it's not every day a beautiful check out worker wants to take my name and number" she replied, her cheeks slightly red. She paid for her items and thanked you for being so kind.
----
"Y/n, could you please more the new stock so it's ready for stacking" your manager asked just as you finished up checking out the last customer in your line. "Sure, I just need a quick toilet break first" you replied before making your way to the employee bathroom.
You pulled out the piece of paper Yelena wrote her name and number down on and began to punch in her number into your phone. It rang a few times before you were greeted with her thick Russian accent.
"Yelena speaking" she answered.
"Hi, Yelena, it's Y/n. We got our stock in today and I am about to get it ready for stacking. If you're free, did you want to come down and pick up the boxes?"
"Hey, of course! Fanny and I are just on our daily walk, we'll be there in 10 minutes or so"
"Sounds awesome, please tell me Fanny is your dog" you chuckled.
"What else would I be walking?" Yelena replied, "we'll see you soon" she added before hanging up.
You had just finished up stacking a product when you saw Yelena walking towards you, "You made it" you smiled, unsure why you even made that comment. She smiled softly, "yeah, you should've seen the crap I had to put up with before walking through the door" she chuckled, making you blush.
"You must be pretty hungry then" you replied, "I've saved you a few boxes, come with me" you added. Yelena couldn't help but noticed the newly stocked section of Mac n cheese that reminded her how excited she was to finally get her hands on her favourite snack. You led her into the backroom, the manger was on lunch so you knew you were safe.
"So, I'm not sure if you have a car or anything but by box, I mean I saved you a whole crate" you turned on your heels, smiling at the blonde. Yelena's eyes widened, "you saved me a whole crate?" she asked, just to be sure.
"Yeah! I may or may not have noticed how much you like this brand and considering we are the one of the only stores that sell it in the city, I thought why not give you enough to keep you going! Oh, and you'd be saving money" you replied excitingly.
Yelena's smile only grew bigger, "I guess I'll have to call my sister, I don't think Fanny will approve of pulling this bad boy home" she replied with a chuckle.
----
A few days had past and you were just about to clock out, serving the last customer in your checkout when Yelena had walked in. "I didn't think I'd see you back here so soon" you greeted her with a smile as you began to tidy up your check out.
Yelena chuckled, "don't worry, I'm not here for more Mac n cheese" she replied.
"I'm glad! I would be a little concerned if you were! What can I help you with?" You asked.
"Are you busy after your shift?" she asked. You shook your head, "nope, just going home and hitting the gym a little later" you replied.
"How do you feel about skipping gym and maybe having dinner with me?" Yelena asked. You paused and looked up at her, smiling softly, "I've skipped the gym for the last three days, what's another day going to do?" you replied, causing Yelena to smile.
"Great! I'll let you finish up and I'll meet you outside with Fanny" she spoke before slowly walking towards the entrance.
Once you had finished tidying up and gathering your things from your locker, you met Yelena outside where she waited with her dog, Fanny, sitting by her feet. The dog wagged her tail as she greeted you, "she's adorable! what's her name again?" you asked, giving the pup at good pat.
"Fanny" Yelena replied, you didn't question the slightly odd name choice. "How do you feel about loaded hot dogs and a walk through the park?" Yelena asked.
"This is going to sound a little odd but I have been craving one of them all day!" you smiled.

Day TWO of toxicchaintober is rolling around, and the prompt was chains!
This is kind've sad, but necessary. Evil villain plot stuff, yk? Maybe don't get so greedy, Kieran smh
Speaking of villain origin story, why don't I write y'all a little excerpt?
READ BELOW THE CUT (!!!!MASSIVE TRIGGER WARNING FOR ASPHYXIATION!!!!)
It was a very dark night.
Kieran hurriedly raced away from home, having snuck out of the house without getting caught. His adrenaline, mixed with both fear and anticipation, rushed through his veins with each trot as he made his way to the bridge that seperated town from the wilderness. He knew he really shouldn't be out here this late, but given the circumstances, he didn't care.
It was about time he grew up, anyway.
As he reached the path that led to Kitakami Hall he took a turn, headed down the slope and toward the river.
"I just have to remember how to get to the woods, and then out of sight for a little while." He panted, coming to a stop before approaching the bubbling stream before him. He looked down at the water for a moment, taking in his reflection.
"I look...I look so tired..." he whispered, still drawing in deep breaths. He brought a hand up to his cheek.
"What is wrong with you? Why are you doing this?" He asked himself, feeling the small, familiar flicker of irritation as he began to recall the events since coming back home.
"You make your first friend, want to prove to her you're not some loser wimp and then your stupid sister comes in and swoops her away! And now she won't even talk to you, much less look at you!" He growled, his panting becoming slower. Even still, his heart pounded in a mix of bubbling frustration and fatigue.
"You can't even make friends right, much less DESERVE ANY!" His voice rose, echoing through the still air as he swiped the water with his hand, as if to eradicate the insecure reflection before him. This caused some neaeby ducklett to quack from being startled.
"I hate you! I hate this stupid town, and I hate my sister. It's all your fault!" He rambled on.
"If you weren't SO WEAK—" He grit his teeth, near forgetting why he was here before he felt a rattling in his pouch, nearly causing him to fall over in surprise.
"Ghh-?!"
His fanny pack rattled again. Oh...right. He shouldn't be here wasting his time. The thing rattling in his backpack had reminded him of wby he was headed to his destination in the first place.
He sighed, taking a deep breath.
"If I stay any longer, someone'll be bound to find me. I gotta get going." With that, he set off once again, this time he was going to make sure he didn't lose breath.
...
After what felt like forever, he recognized the thick greenery of the forest. Many had warned him of the dangers, but he didn't care. He stopped, clenching his fist.
"I have to go in." He swallowed "I have to prove my worth. Maybe then she'll like me then." He then began scaling the steeper hill of the forest, making sure he didn't tumble on the way down.
As he landed at the bottom, he whispered "I wonder how she does this...I'm already done outta breath..."
He sounded disappointed in himself, shaking his head.
"No, Kieran. Steel yourself. Part of the training is tolerance!" He growled softly, pushing deep into the dark woodland of Timeless Woods.
Thankfully he was wearing his jacket—so many swaths of bramble had poked out, scraping his legs. As annoying as it was, he would just stomp them to the ground with a flare of annoyance.
"No doubt meemaw is going to question how I got these in my sleep," he thought to himself.
"Maybe I can just say my Sentret did it out of excitement....seems believeable."
Convincing himself, he pushed forward, a branch near hooking his headband. He growled at this, struggling for a moment before it let go.
"Geez...!" He adjusted his headband.
"To be honest, is this even worth coming so far?" He began asking himself, now wandering aimlessly. "That voice said it would be...so I guess it wouldn't hurt. Still..." As he was about to speak, a loud shriek echoed in the distance, the hair on the bsck of his neck standing up.
"A-Aw man....I oughta make this quick, then-"
Without further hesitation, he knew he had no choice but to go forward. He whimpered slightly, throat burning in fear as he picked up the pace.
"Did we really have to meet out here...?!" He panted again, already losing the air pocketed in his tiny lungs. The terrain here was unstable; what if he fell? What if a scary pokémon caught up to him-?!
The panic rose in his chest. He felt more hypervigilant, the rattling in his pouch only startling him further.
"W-Wait...!" He puffed "We're almost there—"
He could faintly make out an area in the distance, his focus locking onto it. The pouch rattled again, this time with more ferocity.
"C-Can't you just wait?! I'm trying, here!" He wailed, his hands travelling to his fanny pack. Whatever it was, it was ready to come out compared to when he was near Mossui.
He began unzipping it, eyes still locled onto the clearing ahead.
Zzziiiiip-!
"Okay, I'll give you some ai— Wuuaahh—!" Suddenly the weight under his feet was gone, his body feeling as if it was soaring. A choked cry escaped his throat before it was automatically stifled by his front-half landing on the ground.
"Oomph—! Oowww..."
Kieran whimpered. He slowly sat up onto his knees, trying to rub his eyes.
"Mmghhh...uh?" He stopped, his vision refocusing. That's when he noticed something small and a pinkish-purple laying in the grass in front of him, moonlight reflecting off of it.
He began grabbing at his pouch, realizing that it was now empty as well.
"What-?! How did-?!" He scooched up further, about to grab it and stuff it back in the bag before his eyes landed on two, yellow orbs that stared right back at him.
"WH-WHAT THE--?!" He took his hand away. The item-now-turned-creature hissed.
"Silence, child!"
It rattled, this time the weird, soft shell began to undulate.
The air felt like it was sucked out of Kieran's throat. What the hell was going on...? Had he hit his head too hard somehow? Maybe ate too many sweets the day prior?! He had to slap himself for a moment, as if he was dreaming.
"Ugh....this is just a dream...it has to be a dream..."
The creature rolled its eyes for a moment before Kieran felt something—something that physically wasn't there—grab his face. This grabbed his attention, his whole body tensing up as he sensed danger.
"You call yourself a "trainer", yet you can't tell when a pokémon is right in front of you or not. How pathetic..."
With it's soft outer shell, the creature hoisted itself up. It was shaky, much like the spherical-shaped robots breaking down like in sci-fi movies Kieran had seen. He watched in horror as the peach-shaped pokémon lifted itself in the air.
For him, this was like witnessing the birth of Arceus, or the existence of life itself. Did Millie know what this thing was?
As he sat there, dumbfounded, the tight, invisible feeling left his face. He reached to rub his chin instinctively, looking at the creature that was slowly regaining its strength.
"You...you can speak?" He asked shakily.
"Yes...I suppose I am able to now..."
"Now?"
"It does not matter. What matters right now is that I have brought you out here for a multitude of reasons..." The creature's yellow-eyes squinted at the child. Kieran sat there, watching its every move as it began floating around him, as if to observe him. It stopped above his head, leaning in a little closer.
"Wh-What are you doing...?" Kieran asked, confused.
The peach-shaped creature's horns seemed to move back for a moment before it floated away from Kieran, looking down at him.
"Studying you...you'll see." The creature finally answered. Kieran tilted his head.
"Studying me? Why?"
The creature floated up to his face, glaring at him.
"It is simple, foolish child. I need your help." The creature insulted Kieran, which he slightly looked away in agitation.
"We both are in a predicament, and I think we could benefit from one another, no?"
This caught Kieran's attention. His eyes flickered for a moment.
"Y-Yeah!" He barked, before his face contorted in confusion.
"Wait...how did you know I was going through somethin' right now?" Kieran, now struck with realization, stared down the anomaly in front of him. The creature gently shook from side-to-side.
"Peh-heh-heh...you really are so stupid...I really did hit the jackpot with you..."
Kieran's fists balled up as he sat there, becoming impatient.
"Enough with the insults! Just...answer my question." Kieran's voice was more demanding, it taking all of him to not just grab at the creature and scream at it. The critter made a weird groaning sound, rolling its eyes again.
"I don't know how it couldn't be anymore obvious...but I've kinda been alive the whole time..." It revealed, "To put it simply: the first time you touched me, I suppose it activated something within me to wake up. Then I had to play the waiting game...make sure you're worth my time-"
"Worth your time...?" Kieran squinted, perplexed.
"You're so hopeless. Anywhoooo...." The creature tilted to the side.
"You said you wanted to get stronger, right? I kinda overheard when you rudely stuffed me into your little smoking-case there—"
"H-Hey, woah-!" Kieran put his hands in front of him "First off, this isn't a smoking-case, it's a pouch! Aren't those like really old, anyway?" He scratched his head "Also, I suppose yer not wrong. Sorry for doing that, by the way-" He looked down, blushing slightly from embarrassment. The creature looked down on him.
"Coulda swore that was something else. Anyway, to repeat what I said—"
"Yeah! I do wanna get stronger!" Kieran, impatient with excitement, grabbed his own knees in anticipation.
"...Okay, kid. Slow down."
"Sorry!"
"Oookay...anyway...I need your help. If you wanna get stronger, then I have two favors from you. I really think these things could help you get stronger..."
Kieran leaned forward, now in a semi-bowing-position.
"Please! I'll do anything!" He cried, his head bowing to the ground. The creature wanted to giggle at his patheticness to work for him.
"Wow...that didn't really take any convincing and I didn't even get to tell you the conditions yet. Consider this...a sub-challenge..." For a moment, it felt pity for the kid. How desperate would a kid his age have to be? It almost seemed unfair-
When was it ever fair, anyway?
Kieran sat up again, nodding. The peach began to float to-and-fro.
"Firstly: You really need to prove your strength by helping me re-unite my buddies and I together. What better way to prove your strength than through friendship?" It began to explain, nearly cringing at the last few bits. Before it could continue, Kieran piped up again.
"Who are your buddies?" He asked. It would only be natural for him to ask just so he knew what to do.
"Err...they are very...anonymous folk. They prefer to keep their identity hidden."
Before Kieran could say anything else, it continued,
"Secondly, I need a few, specific masks retrieved."
Kieran's eyes widened, and he piped up again once more.
"Like...like The Loyal Three's?"
The creature looked at him in surprise. The Loyal Three?! If it wasn't so upset at them for failing their job previously, it would have been pleased with the title.
"Look, save your questions for later. Once I see 'em, I'll let you know, okay? For now, I'm just trying to work this dea—trade—out with you."
His voice sounded stern for a moment. If things went his way successfully, he wouldn't have to explain his reasons. It's not like he was going to remember anyway-
Kieran looked embarrassed once again, nodding in understand.
"Okay-"
"Thank you." The creature sighed before floating up into his face.
"If you can do those two things for me, then I can grant you the power you seek. Do those conditions sound good to you?" It asked. Finally finished with it's propisition, it now waited desperately, looking into Kieran's cat-like eyes.
Kieran was quiet for a few moments, which was completely agonizing for this mystery pokémon. If it had hands, it would have its fingers tied behind its back.
'Just take the bait, kid. Come on!' It thought, tensing a little.
Kieran tapped his finger against his chin before he finally spoke.
"So, if I find your friends and retrieve these mystery masks, I can catch you and join my party?" He asked, genuinely curious.
"Indeed— Wait...catch me?"
"With a pokéball!" Kieran beamed, looking up at it with moon-round eyes. Never had the pokémon been so confused and offended before. What the hell was a pokéball?! It made a weird "peh" noise before shaking itself again.
"Y'know what? Yeah, we'll work that out when we get to it..." It grumbled. Might as well save itself another headache before it wastes the little energy it has...
Kieran had never been so overjoyed before. He was finally going to be able to achieve his dreams of becoming the strongest trainer in the world, and finally have an attempt at impressing Millie! His heart began to pound and, before he could stop himself, he blurted out the fastest "Yes" his body could conjure.
For a moment, the creature was too stunned to speak. This was easier than it thought it'd be. Was this kid really that gullible? Did he never get the lectures most kids got when he was younger? The creature blinked, before the answer finally hit it. It finally got what it wanted.
"Yes?" It asked "Are you absolutely sure?" It wanted to clarify that it had not heard things, making sure that Kieran could undoubtedpy be bound to it.
"Yes! If you can give me strength, then I will do these things for you! Kieran repeated, bowing again.
Wow. This kid WAS serious.
"Pehra, Pehra..." It made a noise akin to a pokémon, sighing. It was excited, but it also pitied the kid to a degree.
"Okay, kid! You got yourself a deal!" It cheered, it taking everything not to squirm too much so its shell didn't open up too much.
"Sit up and hold out your hand!"
At its command, Kieran sat up for a moment, confused. He just shrugged, thinking ut was just the simple gesture the mystery pokémon had picked up from others when it came to sealing deals.
"Okay!" And with that, he held his hand out, eyes closed in a smile.
The creature could hardly believe it; it was going to be able to take Kieran's vessel (and smoothly, at that)! It made a little chirp, the chirp becoming a few quiet giggles as Kieran felt something invisible wrap around his wrist.
The pokémon's eyes remained closed, the noise getting happier as the invisible force began to tighten agonizingly around Kieran's wrist.
"Ow ow, hey-" Kieran opened his eyes "I know you're excited, but—" Before he knew it, the pokémon began glowing a faint purple around itself, now looking back at him with dark intent.
"You really are so STUPID....!" It snarled. Kieran's eyes could do nothing but hopelessly watch as the invisible pressure he felt began to glow purple, materializing into a faint, circular object that seemed to stretch from the sides of the pokémon.
It was at this moment his heart dropped, the atmosphere around him turning into one of despair.
There was no doubt about it; he had been duped, used yet again by another creature that saw him as nothing but weak. He could feel his heart quicken in terror, his immediate instinct to pull away.
"S-Stop it!" He cried, trying to pry his arm away from the sinister creature that had a death-grip on it.
"Let go of meee...!" He grit his teeth, his arm screaming in pain as he pulled as hard as he could. The pokémon drew closer, laughing darkly at the kid.
"I feel bad, kid. I do," It faked the pity; in reality, it had played its cards right, and Kieran had fell for its plea
"But you did agree to this trade! Fair's fair!"
Kieran growled in panic, his eyes welling up with tears.
"I NEVER AGREED TO— MMMPHHH—" Before Kieran could scream at it, he the weird texture of the unidentifiable object the creature was using dart into his mouth, as if to stifle him.
"Whazzat?" It asked "Did a totodile bite your tongue?"
Kieran glared at the pokémon, the familiar ache in his chest swelling. He couldn't make any noise as the chain-like miasma pinched his tongue. He did squeal, his throat burning as the prongs pinched harder.
As Kieran began to struggle, the chain that was snaking up his arm suddenly lunged, now wrapping around his throat. He began to panic, realizing exactly what it was trying to do. His eyes welled up with tears as the creature floated behind him, chuckling.
"That's a good kiddo. If I didn't have my toxic chain in your mouth, I'd totally give you some mochi as a reward!" It chimed. Kieran growled, struggling some more. Not only was this pokémon actively going to kill him, but it was offering one of Kieran's least favorite foods.
The despair ate at Kieran. He had followed a disembodied forest out into Timeless Woods, accepting some sort of stupid offer. He was disappointed; it was as if life was just out for him.
'This is my fate..." Kieran thought, the chains getting tighter. He could feel his throat slowly close.
'Maybe this is what I deserve. Maybe sis was right about me being a stupid child that doesn't know any better...' As he began to pity himself, the chains fully closed around his neck, closing his windpipe. The tears slowly stopped, him unable to heave any air.
'I'm going to die. I'm going to die in the middle of the woods.' Kieran looked up at the sky, trying to gasp for air as the creature's other chain used it's prongs to stretch his mouth open.
'I'm going to die alone, and nobody will be here to save me.'
Suddenly, Kieran began to miss everything. His house, his school, his family, his friends....
...Even Millie. Why was it that, even at the face of death, she was the one that crossed his mind? The despair gnawed at him, and he was helplessly a victim to it.
He began to panic, clawing at the chains that held onto him, sucking the oxygen out of him. This only caused the creature to wiggle the chains, laughing.
'...I really need sis right now...' He finally felt a heavy weight upon him. It was as if Carmine was tucking him into bed, telling him things would get better.
"Looks like we've got a fighter! I hate to tell you this, but the more you struggle, the worse it'll get!"
It was taking excitement in Kieran's suffering. He could feel his vision tunneling, white, fuzzy spots dotting it. His struggling became less amd less, the movements becoming mere twitches.
'I feel so cold...' Kieran thought.
'If only sis were here...I need her...I need...sis...'
And that's when the weighted feeling took over, as if a blanket had fallen over him, one that Carmine was holding, telling him that things would get better and that tomorrow they would make things better.
Just like she used to. Right before he felt like he didn't need her love or comfort anymore.
Before he knew it, he had slipped into the comforting void of darkness.

Ranking Jane Austen heroines/women on how good of a mother they’d be?
As with the men, I think they would all be good mothers, though in different ways.
Elizabeth Bennet: Soccer mom, she wasn't given the opportunity to have a structured education herself, it will be different for her kids. She's hiring the best governess she can find (after Darcy does a full background check), she's encouraging her kids to do extracurriculars, they will speak six languages that she doesn't understand or else! Has a minor panic attack if she says anything that sounds even remotely like something either of her parents would say.
Jane Bennet: Gentle mom, she cannot imagine punishing her children, she just has a killer disappointed face (she is unaware of this). Encourages her children to always try to understand both sides of the story. Will eventually fall for a lie one of her children tells and be devastated when she figures out the truth.
Anne Elliot: Perfect mother, there is indeed no one so proper, so capable as Anne. She has also watched her sister do everything wrong and she knows exactly how to do it right.
Emma Woodhouse: Scatterbrained mom, makes a resolution to teach her daughter fancy work but then gets distracted and the sampler is left half finished. Promised to read with her son but they only make it halfway through the novel. Good thing she hired an excellent "Miss Taylor" to pick up the slack! And despite her occasional screw-ups, her kids love her to pieces. They just better be on guard when they hit 18 and she starts trying to marry them off.
Marianne Dashwood: Crunchy mom, or whatever the Regency period equivalent would be. She wants her kids to feel the dead leaves between their toes, she encourages them to write poetry and play moving ballads. Otherwise, a lot like her own mother (they have very similar personalities)
Elinor Dashwood: I-Say-I-Love-You-With-Food Mom, she may not be exactly emotionally available, but she orders her daughter's favourite meal when she's sad and there are tiny hearts in the stiches of her son's clothes. She makes sure her kids are provided for, educated, and healthy. When she asks if they are hungry, they know she's saying, "I love you."
Fanny Price: Nurturing mom, she will be everything for those children that Edmund and William were to her, but nothing like Sir Thomas, Lady Bertram, Mrs. Norris or her own parents. She has a good deal of experience from nursing her own siblings so it's a pretty smooth beginning.
Catherine Morland: Overconfident mom, Catherine has been there and done that, she has six younger brothers and sisters after all, she's READY! This will be easy! All you have to do is make sure the baby is fed, washed, changed, and napped... oh... it's a lot harder to do this when you have only slept for 2.5 hours last night... (I know she would have servants, but still, being a new mother is tough!)
Bonus: Jane Fairfax tries to keep Frank from spoiling the kids, but it is literally impossible. He keeps buying them huge presents and then she would be the bad guy for saying no. Also, she knows that Frank lost their child in Kensington Gardens (twice), that's why she always insists he take a footman now.
Bonus bonus: Harriet Smith has a special box where she keeps all the 'treasures' her kids collect. It is her most precious possession.

I love the episode “Perfect day” so much for multiple reasons one of my favourites is The Captain in this episode which was just wonderful but another thing along those lines is how they handled homophobia in this episode because Fanny is annoyed at the start about it being a lesbian wedding two main things I like about how they handled that is one the captain didn’t have to fix it and I know he wasn’t out at this point but it’s a thing I see sometimes when there’s a queer character is that they always have to educate everyone else and they have to deal with the homophobic people to teach them which hurts the queer character and I like that they didn’t do that there was not even a big thing about the fact that it was a lesbian wedding it sort of just used empathy to get Fanny to understand with Humphrey telling her about his marriage and her looking at her own realising it’s better this way it’s like she had to go do that on her own or she was not going to be included and she did it was on her to and she did and the captain got to do his own thing and had a great time I’m glad they did not make him deal with it which is great second thing is I’m really glad it was just Fanny who had a problem with it because I would have been sad if other ghosts did context is very important for this show so I understand why Fanny was like that and I’m so glad other ghosts weren’t like I loved Mary was so concerned about her rituals and all those traditions and still just accepted instantly that this is okay and this is how it is now anyway I hope that made sense goodbye
