I made a video using the characters from "Creative", which was remade by Ghost and Pals! "It takes 3 minutes to listen to a 3-minute song" by Garuna (Owata P)!

I thought this song would fit well with the two members of Creative😊

I plan to post it on YouTube on August 9th of this year.

But the thing is... You physically CAN NOT write fanfic of public domain works. Because if fanfic is about ownership, then you're just making an adaptation, reimagining, or whatever. And if fanfic isn't about ownership, it's about direct derivation, then we're gonna have to start calling a loooot of highly praised classic stuff fanfic too.

will never stop talking about what a perfect choice it was not to include original garashir in lower decks, but to show two alternate versions of them in love.

i read a thing about spirk once in a post on here, about how nothing any show could do would live up to decades of their fandom history, of fanfictions and fanmovies and plays, and it applies to garashir too-- actual garashir, at this point, if it became canon, would invariably disappoint, because writers and artists have created such a multitude of little universes and versions of them through fanworks. a canonisation of their pairing in an explicit way would feel... strange.

and the writers (as deadpool said, the real heroes here) of lower decks came up with the perfect way to bring back the characters: an alternate universe. a tribute to a pair that wasn't able to be together on their show because of homophobia and scared tv execs, and at the same time a nod to fandom culture if you wanna read into it, because it left the original characters alone and acknowledged them in similar ways that fanfiction and fanart have done for decades.
