Even though fan art was a bit challenging for me, Fan art December was something unusual. I will be focusing more on the original works rather than fan art since that will be my resolution.

If I hear “Separate the art from the artist” one more time I’m GONNA LOSE MY SHIT!

I get it, if you like an artist (art/music) but they did something nasty, you wanna keep liking them sometimes!

BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN EVERYONE ELSE HAS TO IGNORE THE RED FLAGS.

I know some people tend to do the “separate” thing a lot, BUT WHAT IF YOU CAN’T? What if you despise what that creator did so much that you just can’t enjoy their stuff anymore?

I used to be a Griffinilla fan, I used to listen to Fandroid songs on repeat! But then he got caught for being a p3doph1lle. I just can’t listen to a Fandroid song anymore without being reminded of that. And it makes me sad.

With so many popular song artists getting caught for being p3dos, I don’t wanna hear any of that “SePaRaTe tHe aRt fRoM ThE ArTiSt” bullshit.

So, to repeat: PLEASE STOP SAYING “SEPARATE THE ART FROM THE ARTIST” AROUND ME. I DON’T LIKE IT.

uhhh kinda vent-y I guess

personally, if I see more drama, i'm commiting /hsrs /exaggerating (a bit) my mental health isn't doing the best, I've had a lot of stress and anxiety, and with all the drama happening in June is awful. Not only did Fandroid get found out as a p3d0, but there is drama with Blackgryph0n and Billie Bust Up. If either of those happen to be true, I'm fucking done. I have lost a lot of shit I've liked due to drama (especially as a FNF fan), and I don't want to lose the things that I enjoy or use to help cope with my mental illnesses "oH, yOu cAn fiNd sOmEThiNg eLSe-" I know, but I know that it won't be the same, and that I'm just trying something new to help with whatever is wrong with me, so that I won't be constantly sad or depressed. Until further notice, I won't draw any Barnaby selfship art. I don't know who to believe, I'm going to mute anything BBU related on both my TikTok and Twitter. Bye.

Happy birthday to my favorite YouTuber. Day 19: Fandroid's Birthday

Ok ok guys so a lot has happened in the past couple of days.

So, on the 17th January, Fandroid came back!!! Woohoo!!! 🥳

And that’s amazing, right? It is!! 😆 But something fishy happened…

So, today, I found out that apparently both Fandroid and Melody joined the Roblox Game: ‘Starving Artist’.

And obviously, they made some art! But it was kinda ominous, like Mandela Catalogue kinda ominous… (Credits to kronderflopping._ on TikTok for the images):

Now, although you might see nothing in these, I do see something. Let’s go over it:

So, the 1st Picture kind of looks like a Gas Mask.

What were Gas Masks originally used for? To keep toxic chemicals out of you during the war. Fandroid mentioned something about “coming back from the war”. Although people usually say that jokingly after leaving their Social Media Account for a long time, I think in this case Fandroid might be serious. (As in the Character, not Griff himself).

The 2nd Painting has Secret Messages.

Now, this is where it gets very ominous. Obviously, as you can see, this is a sign for help. With what, I might not be sure. Maybe Fandroid is still fighting a “war”, just not a physical one. The ‘us’ in ‘Save Us’ is most probably referring to both Fandroid and Melody, but maybe ‘Us’ could be referring to more than 2 people.

The 3rd Painting looks like a Human.

Sure, this is already creepy, but what’s more creepy is this looks similar to another theory about Fandroid. Ever heard of the Theory where Fandroid could be a human child in a robot’s body? Yeah, this painting of a human looks extremely similar to the fanon human child design. That, or it’s a painting of Griff, or it’s just a random human.

There’s another Painting; it has another secret message.

Now, this gives me major ‘about to introduce a villain’ vibes, or it’s actually Fandroid assuring his fans that he’s there. Or, it’s something else that is saying it’s there. The “Static” kind of looks like Static on a TV. Fandroid’s head is similar to a TV.

And if you thought that was creepy, wait until you see this.

After the Paintings were made, the human painting was pulled up, and this happened:

I’m gonna be honest: I’m not 100% sure what this means. In the first image, it looks a bit like some hands were drawn on, and the eyes have been slashed out with red. Maybe it represents the person drawn went blind? Or something else which I don’t know how to put into words…

The 2nd Image has been scribbled over with red. Maybe that says the person in the image got killed/erased?

The 3rd image has some sort of character drawn ontop of the red scribbles. That could be a New Character, or the thing that killed/erased the person, or maybe it’s the enemy Fandroid is ‘fighting’ with?

And that’s not all, look what what Fandroid and Melody said…

“We are trying to get back.” This sentence feels extremely important. Maybe they aren’t back from this ‘War’, or maybe they are and a new one has started.

“Please don’t forget.” Either this is extremely lore-important, or maybe Fandroid is saying that he hopes we won’t forget him and Melody. That, or something is about to happen that could either kill or erase both of them. (I really hope that doesn’t mean Griff’s gonna deactivate the account…)

And that’s my Theory. Either I have Cracked The Code, Cracked part of it, or I’m insane.

Maybe this is New Lore to a new start of the Fandroid Legacy, or maybe this is a way to put Fandroid to bed and to deactivate the account. (Please don’t be the second one…)

I’m kind of fascinated by the concept that a piece of media with cool ingredients and lackluster execution can spark creativity in its fans to the point the fan-made content can codify—and in some cases even popularize—the perception of the original piece of media. It’s not all that rare to find fan works with more thought and love put into their story than the original product ever had.

I think this is caused by a unique mixture of “This thing has cool elements!” and “This thing is JUST ambiguous enough that I can theorize about the characters and story because they aren’t actually written yet.” It creates a boom of interest for talented people who like to connect the dots. They take the foundations they were given and extrapolate possibilities that are far beyond what the original creative team had in mind. People love to draw, write, and sing the beautiful things that they imagine could be in these worlds other people have made for them.

This is true now more than ever. With internet culture you can spread all the best parts of a series through YouTube videos and catchy songs long before a viewer ever even thinks about familiarizing themselves with the original work.

It’s actually a viable (if somewhat slimy) marketing strategy to keep the story and character elements in your series ambiguous for as long as possible so that people will keep theorizing and bringing their own readings to life. It’s like a horror movie monster: Once you know what’s hiding in the darkness, it’s not as interesting anymore.

The moment you start giving real answers is the moment that the theorizing stops (at least in general), and that means there’s less of a chance that Fandroid or TheLivingTombstone will write a catchy song about their interpretation of your characters. Five Nights at Freddy’s popularity existed almost entirely because of this phenominon (and also because of a Let’s Play boom). Undertale managed to have its cake and eat it too by having a well-written cast of characters for people to attach to, while also hinting at ambiguous nonsense like Gaster that fans and and still do endlessly theorize about.

And we got a lot of cool art and songs out of it!

This is almost universally a good thing except when people start to conflate the fan-made creations surrounding a piece of work with the work itself. Some people will avidly defend the storytelling that they love... even though that story was never a part of the original work in the first place. That character’s favorite quirky hobby? Made up by the fans. Your favorite romantic couple? They’ve shared four lines of dialogue together. That dark backstory everyone loves to talk about? It never happened. But sometimes people act like it did, and that can lead to a bad reading of a work. Which is dangerous!

I want to write an essay on this phenomenon one day, I think it’s a really cool parasocial side effect of storytelling and nobody talks about it.
