#family or visiting family. I’m not upset. I’m glad I’ve gotten to meet with my extended family. I think it’s been better

anyways I need so desperately to meet other people whose family is all still in Iran. No shade to the few Iranian friends I’ve had/have but like. Well one of them was like “I would like to go but I just can’t with the government like that” and one reason they can be that comfortable saying that is because a lot of their extended family is here in the us. If I said that then I would never get to see anyone from my extended family. like do you understand how there’s no choice in that situation for me.

The Completely Unerotic Adventures of Brother Cellanus Volume IV is now available to read!
Summary:
The Archbishop is holding a passion play and Jorvik’s favourite crucifixion survivor, Brother Cellanus certainly doesn’t want to see that! So in an attempt to avoid watching the play, Brother Cellanus flees to the woods with his caretaker, Brother Felix and best friend, Hervör. There they visit Brother Felix’s family. His family are fauns, which means they’re pagan, don’t marry, and run around naked! What is a good Christian monk to do?! Especially when Brother Cellanus promised Brother Felix he wouldn’t try to convert his family?! As Brother Cellanus experiences severe culture shock, he also starts to develop feelings for Brother Felix he is perhaps not quite comfortable with. Meanwhile, Hervör gets to know Brother Felix’s sister, Flavia a bit better. The resulting drama is perhaps more upsetting than Brother Cellanus anticipated. ***** Or in other words, the author accidentally queer baited himself and now Cellanus has stuff to figure out.
Welcome to a new volume of The Completely Unerotic Adventures of Brother Cellanus! In theory this one can be read without reading the other volumes, but there is a lot of context you may be missing.
This volume will be updated rather slowly as I have school work and am writing my dissertation. Originally I was just going to put Brother Cellanus on hiatus, write it all and post it weekly once it was done, but I’ve gotten some really positive comments lately so I wanted to start volume 4 now. Thank you to everyone who has commented and given kudos on my previous volumes! I really appreciate it :D
Chapter Summary: Brother Cellanus, Brother Felix, and Hervör travel to meet Brother Felix’s family for Easter.

Chapter 1: In Which I Reunite With Brother Felix
Chapter Text
Oh rejoice and be glad for the Lord is good!
I don’t know why Father Abbot did it, but he contacted Brother Felix and now we are reunited! Father Abbot could have asked anyone else to go with me out of town during Holy Week. He could have sent me to an inn with another monk who I did not dream I fucked. But Father Abbot in his infinite mercy decided that Brother Felix would be the best person to come with me as I flee Jorvik. I do feel guilty as I’m sure Father Abbot will face the Archbishop’s wrath. However, Father Abbot assured me he would be fine and would tell the Archbishop he sent me away as he suspected I contacted the plague. I don’t particularly believe the Archbishop will believe that excuse, but I shan’t protest!
My name is Brother Cellanus of Jorvik. I’m twenty-six years old and several months ago I was crucified by Danes. As you can imagine, it was extremely traumatic. My near martyrdom resulted in Jorvik’s citizens rioting and chasing Danish leaders, including the Archbishop himself (as he was put in power by the Danes), out of Northumbria. Recently, the Archbishop snuck back into Jorvik to seek an audience with me. Apparently he thinks I hold great power over Jorvik’s people (I do not. I can’t even get them to stop fornicating!) and asked me to attend his passion play. He wanted to make it a grand celebration with free food and drink to win people over. The best way to motivate people to attend your events and to raise their opinion of you, is to give them free food. (That’s how my Bible study has become so successful!) I cannot fault the Archbishop for using this tactic.

Unfortunately I couldn’t help but think through a few ironic implications of Portia’s Reversed ending
Fic below the cut
[1.5k words, tw character dying, set in Portia’s Reversed ending so spoilers]
A decade or so after their story ended
Isha let their head fall back with a rattling, haggard sigh. They closed their eyes, letting the gentle rocking of the docked ship lull their heart into a calm pace. It was almost enough for them to forget their troubles if it wasn’t for the sharp aches in their hip or the sheer effort it took to take a breath.
They’d never been good at listening to their own discomfort. They’d lived with discomfort all the life they remembered, whether it be from minor inconveniences with their arm, or the ever-present fatigue since magic left their world. But now, their body screamed at them everything they’d been trying to ignore. Everything they’d kept from Portia.
A chipper, rhythmic knocking on the door took them out of their thoughts. Despite everything, Isha couldn’t help but smile.
“Welcome back,” they called.
The door swung open with no hesitation as their wife bound into the room. Her sunny smile lit up the room, emphasising the wrinkles around her mouth and eyes. A true smile, reserved for Isha and their children alone. She kicked off her worn boots, shutting the door behind her as she waltzed over to the bed.
“I’ve been missing you,” she teased, leaning in for a quick kiss. “We should be ready to undock soon. Jasna’s grown up to be a fine bosun. I swear, soon they’ll be rigging the boat with their hands tied behind their back just for the challenge. Right after we—”
Portia’s eyes locked onto their bedside table. A half-finished tankard of beer sat over an unfamiliar note filled edge-to-edge with scrawling ink. Her eyebrows tensed, frowning.
“Was Ilya here?”
“Yes, he just left,” Isha said. “He was sorry he couldn’t stay to see you, but he needed to get back to his partner before dark.”
“Did he at least squeeze in a ‘hello’ to his nieces and nephews?” she asked, her voice lightening to a dangerous cheer. Isha shook their head, looking back to the note.
“No…”
They needed to tell her.
He’d written everything she’d need to know but she didn’t deserve to hear it from Julian’s letter.
Portia stroked through their dull curls, pushing them away from their face before gently cupping their cheek.
“Are you feeling better from this morning?” she asked.
Isha took a short, weary breath.
“I’m not well, Portia,” they said softly. “I went outside for some fresh air this afternoon, when I ran into Julian and I had one of those attacks. He helped me back to see what was wrong and it’s getting worse.”
Hurt flickered across her expression before she slapped on a determined smile.
“But he told you how to treat it, right? That’s what the note is. I know we’re charted to sail down the Strait of Seals but if we don’t have what you need or the cold would be too much, we can change course,” she reassured, picking up a pace with no intention of stopping. “And look on the bright side! Now Ilya’s seen you, we might be able to get you back on your feet. You’ve been feeling low for a while now, think of all the places we can visit once you’re better. You can get back off the ship and travel inland. I’ve heard it’s really settled down in the north and I’d love it if we could visit Sun lake again—”
“There’s nothing to treat it,” Isha asserted, but Portia barrelled past.
“—And if we’re passing through Galbrada we can meet back up with Lavi. In his last letters, he was so excited about his travels—”
“I’m dying.”
Portia’s voice cut out.
The ship creaked and drummed with the distant movement of the crew above deck but to them, the quiet hung in the air like a dense fog.
“You’re not dying,” she insisted, the shine in her eyes fracturing. “You’re not dying, you’ll be okay,” she repeated. “I’m the Ambassador of Vesuvia! Along with Prakra, we’re one of the most powerful cities in the land and I have ships in every port in the five seas, loaded with imports. Ilya just must not know what we have access to. Even if—if you’re as ill as he says, we can find a cure. He could look again o-or we could go to Nazali. I know they’re older now, but they’ve trained so many medics, and if that doesn’t work, I know the leader of Urdangabil. They’re one of the leading pioneers of new medicine and if I look through my silvered book, I’m sure I can find something to get her to—”
“No.” Isha gripped Portia’s hand, staring deep into her eyes. Their gaze softened, their care hurting her more than any blade. “I’m dying, Portia
She frantically shook her head, her lip quivering.
“Don’t say that.”
“I’ve been dying ever since the magic left.”
“You’re not going to die! You’re going to be okay…”
“I was never going to live that long. It was borrowed time.”
“You told me you were okay!” Portia sobbed. There was nothing else she could say. She broke.
Pearly tears streamed down her cheeks and she collapsed into Isha’s embrace. She gripped their nightdress, holding onto them like a drowning woman to driftwood. Helpless sobs wracked through her body and Isha held onto their wife in return, gently rubbing her shoulder with their stump. It felt unfair. They were still so warm. Their heart beat the same reassuring patter as whenever Portia curled up against their chest. How could they… How…
But she knew how. She knew why and the thought only made her choking cries harsher.
“I’m sorry…” Isha said softly. “You deserved to know sooner… I wasn’t okay.”
Their chest grew wet from Portia’s tears and they only held her closer.
“It’s… gotten worse over the years,” they explained. “The first few were just this tiredness, but then my headaches came back. Tiredness became exhaustion. I felt… hollow. Like I was using myself up from the inside with every breath and step. It wasn’t until Julian saw me that I recognised it… You know me; I’m useless at asking for help.” They tried for a smile, even if Portia couldn’t see it. “I’m thankful every day I didn’t put that promise in my vows.”
Her crying hitched with a hysterical laugh before slamming her fist against their chest.
“STOP IT!” she yelled, her voice cracking. “J-Just stop it… Stop being s-so stupidly calm! How can y-you just—just accept this?! We’ve done so much… so much… All together. How could I have missed it? I have secrets on every city’s leader. I have ears and eyes everywhere. How—How didn’t even know my own spouse was d-dying!”
“I didn’t know,” Isha whispered, “and I didn’t tell you. It’s not your fault.”
“But it is! You know it is more than anyone. I was the one who chose to kill Aunt Tasya! I could have talked to her. I could have done anything to convince her, I could have…" She stilled under Isha’s arm. Tears dripped from her wide, unfocused eyes.
Moving like a stiff puppet, she fell out of their embrace.
“...The Arcana,” she whispered, the words barely leaving her lips. “I know Asra looked into it and found nothing… but that was just the first year. We have access to so much more… That’s it. I… I could try and call on them. On the other world. Even on—”
Portia jolted out of her daze with Isha’s iron clasp around her wrist and their amber eyes boring into her with a fire she hadn’t seen in years.
“You can’t,” they ordered. “Whatever happens, you can’t repeat Tasya’s mistakes. When we killed her, we accepted the consequences, and I don’t regret it. I can’t let you fall down that path. No matter what happens to me, you need to remember that. I’m not saying you can’t grieve, but you have to let me go.”
More tears welled up and rolled down her cheeks. Isha let go of her wrist, reach up to hold her face and brush them away with their thumb.
“You’ve done everything you can for me and more,” they said.  “You’ve given me a goal, friends, a family. It means more than I could ever say, and I’m glad I’ve had this time with you, but it was always a half-filled hourglass.” They inhaled sharply, their chest suddenly feeling too empty until they breathed through the pain. Their eyes fell closed as they rested their forehead against Portia’s. “I’ve died once before. I don’t remember anything about the life I had before it, but as hard as it is, I know it’s different this time. I don’t want to die. I’m scared. I hate upsetting you. I want to see our children grow up and know the lives they’ll lead. But I’ve accepted it. I can’t ignore it or put it off.”
They pulled back with burning eyes and a tight throat.
“You’ve made my life worth more than I ever thought it could be. I love you, my light. Thank you for loving me.”

---------------------
Age 18:
His truck was full.
He was driving, you were shotgun - like always - and there were three more friends in the back. The trunk held boogie boards and towels, sunscreen and a cooler full of food and drinks.
You got there early enough that you found a good spot and within half an hour you were completely set up. There were three big beach blankets spread out with two big umbrellas to hide under when the sun got too hot.
“Spills, can you get my back?” He was handing you the sunscreen as he pulled his shirt up.
You were momentarily taken aback, you’d known him for so long, this wasn’t your first beach trip but he looked… good.
You spent a little longer than you should have making sure every inch of the golden skin of his back and shoulders was covered in sunscreen. Making sure to dip your hands just under the band of his swim trunks. When he turned he had a big smile and you had to ignore the way your stomach flipped.
Get a grip, it’s just Francis.
You couldn’t get a grip though, not with the way butterflies swarmed in your stomach whenever you paid attention to him. His hair was growing out a bit, curling slightly at the edges. You’d never thought about him this way and you had to keep reminding yourself to look away.
Later on in the day when you were in the water you played the same games you’d played since you were kids and when you jumped on his back he didn’t push you away; his skin warm from the sun. Instead he let you wrap your legs around him and everything felt right.
“You okay back there?” He laughed as he held onto the back of your knees.
“Peachy.” You smiled as you held on.
-------------------------------
**Present Day**
“Hola Mijo, you better go in there and calm her down.” His mom greeted him at the door when he walked in, her eyebrows raised at him.
“Hola mami, what happened?” He kissed her on the cheek like he always did before making his way further into the house. She couldn’t say - just that Claudia was upset. He was walking towards her, but his mind was still back with Spills. He could still smell her hair as he made his way into the den.
It’s the same shampoo, she still uses the same shampoo. Focus Francisco.
Claudia was almost shouting into her cellphone.
“Well I need it here sooner than that. My wedding is in three weeks and I need everything to be perfect - so I don’t give a shit what you have to do to get my dress here in time but you better find a way to do it!” She was looking daggers at him and he let her finish the phone call before he spoke.
“What’s going on babe?” He put his hands on her arms and started trying to calm her but she shrugged out of his grasp.
“What’s wrong Francisco, is that I told you this would be difficult.” She wasn’t yelling but her tone was icy. “How am I supposed to get married without a wedding dress. Would have been fine if we were back home.”
Not this again.
“Claudia, I told you when we got engaged that I wanted to get married here and you agreed. I explained to you very clearly that I’ve been away from my home, my life, my family - my friends for years and I wanted to get married here. Now tell me what the problem is.” He wanted his feelings to be clear. He loved Claudia, he really did. She was sweet and beautiful and she treated him well. She could be a little spoiled though and if he didn’t put his foot down now, he’d never have a choice about anything ever again.
He would not live his life that way.
“Yes I know I agreed, and for the most part I’m okay with it. I know your whole life is here, but it would have been so easy to get married there.” She pouted and it didn’t invoke the feeling it should have. It didn’t spur him to try to please her, it annoyed him.
He momentarily thought about when Spills pouted up at him, it never annoyed him. He pushed the thought away.
“Maybe, but we’re not getting married there. We’re getting married here, now what can we do? Let's look for a solution.” He softened up at her a little bit, after all he wanted her to be happy.
She sighed loudly and put her arms around his neck, her voice got a little higher as she tried to appeal to him.
“Frankie, baby- I just want everything to be perfect.”
That doesn’t work on me.
“Let’s just try to have everything go smoothly. It’ll be our day regardless, right?” He put his hands on her waist to bring her close, trying to get her out of her head.
“How long do we have to stay here Francisco?” She leaned back to look up into his face and he sighed.
“We have to talk about that, after the wedding we’re going back to stay with your family for a little while but then we have to talk about where we’re going to live.” He held her, but she pulled away.
“I don’t want to live here after Francisco. I appreciate that you grew up here and everything and we can visit but I do not want to live here.” She crossed her arms petulantly, and he took a deep breath to steady himself. They’d spoken about this before and she had agreed to give it an honest try, but they’d been in town less than a week and already she was telling him she hated it.
“You can’t know that in three days babe.” He sat on the couch.
When they agreed to get married - he’d been scared of this, he’d been scared that she’d do this. He knew she loved him, and he loved her - as much as he could - but the look on her face when he’d put his foot down about spending this time at home should have told him everything.
She didn’t say anything, she sat with him and reluctantly agreed.
“You’re right, I’m sorry. I just miss home. I’ll give it another shot.” She sounded genuine and he wanted to believe that. “How was your night with Spills? Is she feeling better?” She smiled at him, putting her hand on his thigh and he placed his over hers. A silent truce.
“She’s doing much better, we ate dinner and watched a movie.” He held her hand as he spoke and she smiled at him.
“I’m glad to hear that - hopefully she doesn’t get that drunk at the wedding.” She laughed lightly.
He knew she didn’t mean it in a nasty way, but he bristled at her words.
“She was just nervous about meeting all of you, and even if she did it would be fine. Everyone gets drunk at weddings.” He tried not to sound defensive but she raised her eyebrows at him. “I just don’t want you to think that she’s a mess. She’s like a-” He couldn’t say sister, he’s never thought of her as a sister. She was so much more. “She’s just really important to me.”
“I know babe. I didn’t mean it like that, she seems sweet.” She smiled at him. She was still trying to get back in his good graces, taking his defensiveness as residual anger. Thankfully.
“We should plan something for all of us to do together. It could give us more time to bond.” He thought about it momentarily then agreed, he knew exactly what to plan.
------------
There was something playing on the TV, you caught vague flashes - people talking but you weren’t taking anything in. Your sweatshirt smelled like Frankie and all you wanted was to cuddle up to him. He had been so sturdy beside you, so strong and comfortable.
What the fuck is a wedding emergency?
The mature - adult part of your brain said she was a nice person and if Frankie was with her it was for a reason. Obviously he was happy with her or he wouldn’t be marrying her. Frankie had never been the kind of person to settle.
The other part of your brain, the jealous possessive part told you she was a bitch. She was ruining the life you’d planned out with Frankie. If he’d never met her you’d be together now, laughing and planning the rest of your lives together. He’d be in your bed, or you’d be in his.
[Francis]: Hey Spills, we’re planning a get together for the wedding party - day after tomorrow - beach day. I’ll be there to pick you up at 7am.
It was like the universe was testing you. How many memories could he taint with Claudia?
[you]: sounds good, Claudia, you, me and who else in rustbucket?
[Francis]: Just you and I, and don’t call her that. Claudia’s family is coming so she’s going to ride to the beach with them. I’ll grab coffee on the way. =)
[you]: Hope you have a new tape in there, if I have to listen to queen I’ll jump out of the car
[Francis]: lol a ride is a ride Spills, see you then
[Francis]: was really nice hanging out with you today btw, goodnight
[you]: I had a great time with you - like always, thanks again for all the food, goodnight Francis!
--------
It was easy to ignore everything when you were getting work done, you had taken off a few days when you knew Francis would be home and you were taking advantage of it. The day before your beach trip was used to do all those little tasks you tended to put off.
Your laundry was done, the kitchen was clean, even the fridge had gotten a bit of elbow grease. Everything was ready and packed for the trip.
You tried not to think about the ride to the beach with Francis, you tried not to think back to your previous trips to the beach with him. Those memories were so precious and thinking about how your next memory would be with him, and his new in-laws was tearing you up inside.
Please let this go well, please don’t let me make a fool of myself.
You hoped someone was listening.
The anxiety didn’t let you sleep and you watched the clock crawl closer to morning; it seemed pointless to lay there.
Might as well get ready.
-----
He wasn’t nervous, but he wasn’t excited.
He made his way over to her house, stopping to grab coffee on the way. He thought about his conversation with Claudia, about the possibility of leaving this place. He really didn’t want to. He wanted to be close to his mom, he wanted to be close to his friends and his home.
I want to be close to Spills, I want to see her everyday.
He scolded himself, he was going to marry someone else. He kept trying to remind himself, but when he saw her walking towards his car it all went out the window.
God Spills, you’re killing me.
She put her beach bag and a small cooler in the backseat and got into his truck with a big smile, pushing all other thoughts out of his mind. He handed her the coffee he bought and she took it gratefully, brushing against his fingers, even now - she affected him so much.
Snap out of it Francisco, you aren’t a teenager anymore. This is your friend.
“Hazelnut?” She asked as she smelled the steam floating around her pretty face.
“Of course.” He pulled away from her place, making his way towards the highway. It would be an hour or so until they got to the beach.
“Open up.” The buttery bagel half she put into his mouth as he drove tasted better than he remembered.
------
The drive was over much too soon.
If only it had lasted all day - catching him up on all the gossip he’d missed out on while away. Watching his excitement when he talked about flying, you could have listened to him talk forever.
“Finally!” Cheers rang out when the two of you arrived. The boys had set up a bunch of blankets and umbrellas and you suddenly remembered the state you’d been in the last time they saw you and you felt the blush creeping up.
Benny smiled big when he saw you, tapping the place beside him after you’d all said your hellos. You had no reason to deny him so you sat, setting up all your stuff within the space he made for you.
Blessedly, Claudia hadn’t arrived yet and you cherished this time without her, maybe it was mean - maybe it was selfish but you couldn't help it.
“Hey - Thanks for the other night, for getting me home and making sure I was okay.” Pope set up his stuff on the other side of you.
“No problem, glad to see you feeling better.” He was talking to you but you noticed him give Benny a curious look. Benny ignored it. You watched as Will and Frankie set up a volleyball net, you studied both men and there was no denying that Will was gorgeous; but your eyes were drawn to Frankie. You couldn’t help it, your eyes raked over him greedily.
He was so broad, stronger than he had been in his teen years and his belly had gotten a little softer with age but it suited him. He was gorgeous, he had always been gorgeous. He felt your eyes on him then and he smiled at you, walking over to you with the sunscreen in his hands like he always did. His smile faltered slightly when his gaze landed behind your place in the sand.
“Hey babe, how was the drive?” Claudia and her family had arrived and they were setting up just behind you.
Do you have some sort of alarm? How are you always ruining every single goddamn moment?
“It was hectic! Left a little later than I meant to but we survived.” She was breathless as she came to greet him. You busied yourself with something, anything in your bag to avoid watching them kiss. When you looked back she was squeezing sunscreen onto his back, rubbing the lotion much the same way you used to whenever you’d come to the beach together.
He didn’t meet your eyes when she did it, and you were thankful. You didn’t think you could handle seeing him enjoying her touch so much. Instead you focused on the people around you. You focused on Benny and Will and Pope, trying your best to ingratiate yourself to them. Hopefully erase the memory of you as a belligerent mess.
---
As the day went on you found that you liked these guys, not just as an extension of Francis - but because they were fun. They made you laugh, they spoke to you like they’d known you your whole life. They almost distracted you enough. You also noticed that Claudia was only here to lounge in the sun. She had absolutely no interest in getting in the water, no matter how many times she was asked by Frankie to join him.
He played it off like it didn’t bother him but you knew it did, and that in turn hurt you but your heart leapt when he turned to you.
“Spills, wanna come in the water with me?” He smiled and held out his hand and you gladly accepted. Following him in like you always had.
“Not much of a swimmer?” You couldn’t help but ask when the two of you were in the water.
“Not really, it’s a shame - the water's perfect today.” He floated, making sure to splash you and you waited until he was perfectly relaxed to splash him back. “God I love it here.” he spoke as he floated closer and closer.
“Me too. I want to live near the ocean one day.” You spoke absentmindedly, trying to feel for little shells or rocks as you walked further and further from the shore. He followed you.
You felt him splashing you from behind and you tackled him. The two of you turned into children in the water and it ended with you wrapped around his back like always. His hands on the back of your knees as you held on. You both watched the shore in silence, everyone too focused on whatever they were doing to notice your closeness and you were thankful for it. It made you hold on tighter, trying to get closer and he wrapped your legs around his tummy.
Maybe it was inappropriate, maybe if Claudia had been watching she would have had some words for him, or you, or both of you - but it didn’t stop you.
“Let’s just stay out here Spills. Let’s stay in the water forever.” He stroked the skin of your shins under the water and it was so hard not to cry right then and there. “Just you and me, living in the water.” He laughed but it came out sad.
“I’m game.” You rested your chin on his shoulder briefly and he bumped your head with his. This one little moment made the whole day worth it, and when he pulled away as you knew he would, your heart broke just a little bit more.
You were both wrong in your assumptions however. The moment you had thought was private, that you thought you’d stolen without anyone knowing had been seen and catalogued by someone on the shore. Pope had seen the whole thing, and he had some words for Francis.

Night Changes [Epilogue]
Summary: The end.
Warnings: Language, smut, excessive fluff.
Tumblr media
Poe always woke to the sound of ocean waves. Many times mixed with the noises Charlie made waking up, her soft cries pulling him from his sleep, or otherwise the sound of you soothing her. He tried to wake before you so that you could sleep in—he still felt he owed you so much time and rest for having to raise her on your own for so long.
Most days, he did naturally awaken before both of his girls. He would spend a few moments admiring you in the golden light of dawn that filtered through the soft linen curtains, enjoying the feel of your body warm against his, before slowly raising to creep from the room and go to Charlie in her nursery.
Today, however, he didn’t need to leave. Charlie was currently asleep in the guest room of their bungalow, a happy home on Yavin-4 that sat right along a sleepy beach. She was spending quality time with her visiting Aunt and Uncle—Rey and Finn. They’d insisted on the sleepover, claiming they wanted practice caring for a baby for when they were ready to have their own. You had hurriedly handed Charlie over, laughing, and wished them luck.
The house had been designed long to ensure most rooms could take advantage of the view of the water; Poe and you were on the opposite side from the guest room. Far enough that they couldn’t hear any crying if Charlie was awake. But Poe trusted his hapless friends, he wasn’t worried in the slightest.
And it meant he got extra alone time with you, uninterrupted.
Settling on Yavin-4 had been a desire you and Poe shared, the decision coming quickly when he first found you on Sorgan and the discussion of next steps came up. Dad was glad to move back, though he did sell his place and had a room next to the guest room, preferring to stay close to Charlie. Combined, the money you inherited from your parents, your brother, the family house you’d sold, and Poe’s money, the Dameron family was more than comfortable to retire and live peacefully on their home planet.
Poe built you a beach house, in a quiet corner of the jungle that was close enough by speeder to a mid-sized town, with a school for Charlie and markets, shops, a cantina. Aside from the occasional distant air traffic, his home was filled only with the sounds of the ocean, the giggles of his little girl and you, his dads' booming laugh. Charlie was nearly three now, and she was the happiest kid, full of attitude and drama but somehow it was so easy to make her smile, and Poe was the best at it. She was a daddy’s girl, you had said, not realizing how much that meant to him to hear.
As he stretched, you gave a soft snore next to Poe and an idea struck him. It had been a while since he’d last eaten you out while you slept, and his cock began to harden at the thought. With careful movements, he shimmied down the bed and ducked his head under the bedsheet, moving between your legs gently. Neither of you ever wore clothing to bed, so it made it easy for Poe to begin kissing your inner thigh as his hands spread your thighs.
When he had you bared, pretty and glistening, he resisted the urge to dive in and instead very slowly began to lap at your folds. Fuck, you always tasted delicious, he really could eat you out for hours happily, drinking you down like a fine wine. He licked at you for a while, his cock pressing into the mattress, only growing harder the wetter you got for him. When he finally pressed one finger into you, he felt you stir and smiled, keeping his movements slow as he gently sucked your clit.
“Shit,” You whimpered, your hips rolling at the same time your hands ripped back the covers, revealing Poe where he lay between your thighs. He grinned up at you, pressing his face harder against your core and licking, his tongue sliding over the sensitive nub as he worked a second finger inside of you. “Poe, I’m so close...”
He growled in response to your words, curling his fingers to hit that spot inside of you that made you see stars, and he felt the wet convulsions of your orgasm hit, listened to the sounds of your moans. He kept his eyes on your face, delighting in the way your pleasure contorted your expression, your brows furrowed and your lower lip between your teeth. He worked you through the high, swallowing everything you gave him until you collapsed back into the cushions.
“Wow,” You breathed heavily, and Poe crawled up next to you on the bed with a smirk. “Haven’t had a wake-up call like that in a while. Do you think Finn and Rey would stay a few days more?”
Poe laughed, “Actually, I do. They’re obsessed with Bug,” He leaned down and kissed you, letting you taste yourself on his tongue. “Now, sweet girl, you think you can take my cock, now that I’ve warmed you up?” He whispered low in your ear, and you moaned in response.
Poe rolled you on top of him, then pushed himself up the bed so that he was sitting against the headboard and you were straddling his lap. Your hands automatically traced along the muscles of his chest, tickling slightly when you lowered them to his abs. Once he was settled, you reached down further and took hold of him, grinning when he groaned aloud at the feel of you squeeze his cock, then raised your hips, beginning to sink yourself onto him.
“Fuck, Poe,” Your head lolled back as you worked to take him, while Poe watched you, his hands now gripping your hips. He dropped his gaze to your soft stomach, his mind suddenly moving toward a thought he’d been holding back from you, not sure if it was the right time to bring it up. Things were so perfect, now, that he didn’t want to upset the balance.
But if Poe was being honest, he had been imagining Charlie having a sibling. The idea of making another baby with you, seeing you swell and getting to be there for the entire pregnancy, the birth, had been on his mind a lot lately. Now, as you sat in his lap, his cock fully splitting you, the thought of getting you pregnant made him pulse with desire. He leaned forward and took your nipple into his mouth, groaning as you began to roll your hips.
“Sweet girl,” He sighed, kissing a trail up your chest and neck, “So perfect, always so perfect for me.” He raised one hand to your head, pushing into your hair and gripping you, angling your head to capture your lips against his as he snapped his hips up to meet you.
You whimpered with each thrust, the sounds swallowed by Poe as he kissed you hard, trying to hold back his thoughts, distracting himself. He should have known it would never work on you—you could read him like a book.
“P-Poe, baby,” You pulled back a little, hips slowing, “What’s going on? You’re far away.” Your pupils were blown wide, skin flushed deliciously.
“It’s nothing,” He felt you drop your weight, settling into his lap but stilling your movements entirely. Your hands reached up from his chest to cup his cheeks, and you frowned at him. “Honestly, sweetheart.”
“It’s not like you to lie to me, Poe Dameron,” Your eyes searched his for a moment, then your frown brightened and you gave him a soft smile. “Would you just say it, flyboy?”
He stared at you, “Say...say what?”
You giggled, both of you gasping slightly at the way your cunt squeezed him in response. “I’ve caught you staring at me, a few times recently. Noticed that you get lost in thought, but then just smile and hide it away. I’m your wife,” You pressed a soft kiss to his lips, “You can say anything to me.”
Poe nodded, dropping his hands to your waist, “I know, it’s just, things are so fucking perfect,” He replied, his eyes locked on yours, “I don’t want to say something that makes you feel like I don’t think it is.”
“You won’t, I promise.”
He bit his lip, gazing at you in all of your beautiful glory; the sun streaming through the open window bathed you in the golden morning light, your eyes bright and every stunning curve bared to him. Why the two of you always found yourselves having serious discussions amid sex, he’d never understood.
“I want another baby—I’ve been thinking it for a while, but I just haven’t been sure how to mention it.” He broke off, glancing away from you to look out at the ocean, the waves fairly calm this morning. You leaned your head down, catching his eyes again, and smiled widely at Poe. His heart stuttered nervously in his chest.
“Oh, my love,” You cooed, brushing one hand through his hair, “Even when we don't realize it, we’re always on the same page. I’d love to have another baby.”
Poe let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding, “Are-are you sure, sweet girl?”
Your smile never faltered, the warmth in your eyes so intense he swore he could feel the heat of it—of you. “I’ll go this week to see the Healers, have them remove my implant.” And before he could reply, your lips were on his and you started to roll your hips, clenching tight around him perfectly, deliciously.
Your movements were filled with intent, sending Poe the message that you were serious, that you felt the same. His heart swelled, the happiness flowing through him almost overwhelming—how had he gotten so lucky, with you? He didn’t understand, still to this day, how he deserved you. And yet every day you continued to show him how strong your love was, right down to understanding his thoughts before he did.
“Fuck,” He hissed against you, pressing his forehead into yours as you rode him, “Going to keep you full of my cum, sweet girl, fuck you every chance we get.”
Your whimper was enough to drag Poe towards the edge, that feeling of falling upward in your arms so close he had to quickly lower one hand to rub circles over your clit—he never left you wanting. He punched his hips up, groaning, picturing how you’d look carrying another baby, remembering how horny you had been when you were pregnant with Charlie—
“Poe, I’m cumming—oh,” your legs gave out as you came, the rush of wetness spilling over his lap and Poe came hard, grunting before he slammed your hips down and held you still. You had fallen against Poe, your head in the crook of his neck as you convulsed around him and he filled you deeply, pulsing in your tight heat. His body melted into yours and for just one moment it was like you and he were one, every breath of air from his lungs going into yours until he collapsed back against the headboard.
You stayed curled into his chest, gasping for air. Poe held you, even as he began to soften within, and stroked your hair gently. The breeze off the ocean cooled your sweat-coated skin, but since Charlie was with Rey and Finn, he figured he could coax you into the large ensuite bath for a long, relaxing shower.
“I love you, Poe,” You whispered, your head turning slightly so that you were looking up at him, your head still resting against his shoulder. “I didn’t know life could be like this.”
Poe met your gaze and smiled softly at you, brushing his hand across your face, “Sweet girl, I’m going to grow old with you.” He murmured, pulling you in for another kiss, languid and slow before he would start another day in paradise with his little family.
When life had finally settled on Yavin-4 for you and Poe—the house finished, Kes all moved in and Charlie adjusted to the new planet, your husband began to have nightmares.
At first, he never said anything to you about them. He acted as if they didn’t happen, but you were a light sleeper because of Charlie, so you always woke up. He didn’t speak, but he would toss around, whimper, his eyes moving rapidly beneath the lids. You knew he saw Temmin die, other friends too—and Leia, she hadn’t made it either. So many had been lost, and he told you how close it had been, how he almost hadn’t made it himself. He’d been through so much after you had gone to Sorgan, you weren’t surprised he had trouble easing into a life where the biggest decisions were about dinner or who was going to get up in the middle of the night to soothe the baby.
You let it happen for a week, hoping that once he settled in more and realized this was life now, they would fade. But you think his pretending they didn’t exist only made it worse, so eventually, you brought it up—and he’d been upset that he had been keeping you up at night. The war was won; but it didn’t take away any of the pain of losses suffered, the hardships he’d had to endure, and yet he’d offered to sleep in the guest room for a while, so you could get some sleep.
You had dismissed that idea immediately and told Poe that if he couldn’t get a good night’s rest then you didn’t need to either. And that was how it ended up that most nights, he’d wake up in a cold sweat and you would roll over and pull him in your arms and he would talk to you.
Poe would tell you everything that happened.
As the nights wore on, the stories became shorter, funnier, some just small memories from passing moments. But the nightmares became less intense, and within three months, they had stopped altogether. And you knew the details of every single moment of his life while you had been on Sorgan, every fight and sacrifice and close call. His mistakes, his triumphs, his fear—and the love he felt for Finn and Rey, for their friendship and loyalty.
It only managed to bring you closer to Poe, who by day showed only a happy, brave face for Charlie, becoming vulnerable in the dark of night, bare in your arms, whispering his story. The thing was, the amount of honesty meant that it was tough to keep things from one another—you could always read each other; now you could have silent conversations from across a room.
You loved how well you and Poe understood each other, but it was really damn inconvenient right now.
It had been a few months since Poe had told you he wanted another baby. It hadn’t come as a shock to you; you’d been thinking the same, wondering when it would feel like the right time, and then he had started acting strange and you managed to get him to confess, suspecting he was picturing another baby in the mix. Poe was true to his promise of having you all the time—every spare moment he could get, he was on you.
Charlie had been a beautiful surprise. This time, you could have fun with the process, which ended up including some fun dates. He’d fucked you behind the cantina in town during a rare night out for drinks. He brought you on beach picnics and you’d ride him on the sandy shore. You’d excuse yourself to go to the fresher and he’d appear out of nowhere and bend you over the counter, fuck you deep and quick before filling you, smacking your ass before he’d slip back out of the room with his cocky smirk.
It was very sexy. You kept letting it happen even though for a while now it wasn’t exactly necessary. You were twelve weeks along, and so far you’d managed to keep it a secret from Poe. You wanted to surprise him, trusting your curves to hide any physical evidence of the pregnancy. Because he was such a good dad, you were able to sneak away when he was preoccupied with Charlie to hurl or splash cool water on your face to quell a hot flash. You were lucky not to suffer too much from morning sickness, though you know you’d pay for that in the final trimester—when you were pregnant with Charlie, you felt like an oversized womp rat for weeks, barely able to stand, wobbling around, sweating constantly.
Today was special and so you’d saved the news to share. It was Poe’s birthday, something he wasn’t ever big on celebrating making it the perfect occasion to share the surprise. You were sat at the large outdoor table with Poe, Kes and Charlie, feet bare on the warm sand, the sky slowly turning indigo as the sun set below the horizon. Dinner was finished, and Charlie was starting to get sleepy, though she was in the toddler stage where fighting off sleep like it was a wild loth cat was the only way to survive.
“Well, sweetheart, thank you for a perfect birthday dinner,” Poe reached his hand across the table to take yours, squeezing slightly as he gazed at you and Charlie, who was in your lap playing with your hair. “Low key, no presents, just good food and family.”
Kes nodded next to his son, clapping Poe on the back, “Good food and family is what life is all about, that was what your mother believed.”
When Poe turned to his dad to reply, you glanced down at Charlie and grinned, lowering your voice, “Bug, can you do something for mummy please?”
Your clever girl smiled, her eyes lighting up immediately at the idea of helping her mother—she was a sweet kid, “Yep yep yep!” She chirped, her little fists coming up to clap against either side of your face gently.
You leaned your head next to hers and pitched your voice to a whisper, giving her the simple instructions. You repeated yourself to make sure she understood and watched as she began to nod aggressively, her brows pinching together in serious focus. You’re not sure she fully grasped what she was saying, which made it funnier when she climbed off your lap and ambled around the table to tug on Poe’s arm.
Poe glanced around at her, his smile breaking wide, “Hi bug, want some cuddle time with daddy?” He picked her up and settled her on his lap as you watched, trying to hold back your smirk. Kes was watching with a faraway, content expression—you think he had an idea of what was coming.
“No daddy,” Charlie replied, her face still scrunched up and serious, “You listen! Listen.” She repeated, dragging the word out as she glared up at Poe, who chuckled, his eyes seeking yours.
He gave you a questioning look and you shrugged innocently. Charlie reached for Poe’s face, patting his jaw so that he would focus on her, “Okay, Bug, what is it?”
“I am a big sitter.”
Poe arched a brow down at her while you clapped a hand over your mouth to hide your giggle, “A big sitter, Bug?”
Charlie bounced up and down excitedly, “Daddy, big sitter—I’mma big sitter!”
Still frowning, Poe glanced up at you again, this time his expression entirely mystified, “Do you understand her?” His voice was slightly strained with the effort of holding back a laugh at her silliness.
You nodded, grinning broadly across at him before looking at Charlie, “Bug, remember how mummy said the word? Sister—“
Charlie’s eyes widened in understanding, “Sister! Daddy, I’m a big SISTER!” She yelled the last word in triumph, her lips forming the word as Poe brushed some of her hair back from her face fondly. You watched as he froze, his mouth opening in surprise, and then slowly looked back at you.
You gave yourself away because a few tears had slipped out watching the exchange, so when Poe’s eyes met yours understanding flashed across his expression. Kes was the first to speak, his hands clapping together in glee, “That’s wonderful news, Bug! A big sister? Wow!” He swooped out of his seat, plucking Charlie from Poe’s arms, “I think you are nearly ready for bed, and mummy and daddy need some grown-up time—say goodnight!”
“NIGHT!” Charlie yelled, waving frantically while grinning up at Kes. He winked at you before turning to make his way up the beach and into the house, leaving you alone with your stunned husband, who was sitting perfectly still.
“You still with me, flyboy?” You took a sip of water, watching as he stood up from the table, a hand swiping through his curls. He was by your side in a flash, dropping to his knees next to your seat and turning you to face him.
“Sweetheart,” He breathed, his eyes shining with tears, “Are you—really, you’re pregnant?”
You cupped Poe’s face, his stubble tickling your hands, “Happy birthday, Poe. I know you said no gifts—“
Poe cut you off, raising slightly on his hunches to press his lips to yours. When he pulled back, his cheeks were wet, “How far along?” His eyes fell down your body, gazing questioningly, lovingly, at your stomach.
“Twelve weeks.”
“Wow,” He murmured, dropping his hands to run over the curves of your torso, “Sweet girl, this is the best birthday present I’ve ever gotten.” His eyes were soft, the honey of them still visible in the light from the candles on your dinner table.
You tilted your head, “Even better than the year Charlie snuck you that vat of Corellian wine?”
Poe barked out a laugh at the memory, “Shit, he and I were drunk for a week straight,” He leaned into you, kissing gently along your jaw as you giggled, “That comes in a close second to this, I think.”
Still laughing, you wrapped your arms fully around Poe and kissed him again. He tugged you off your chair and into his lap, sitting back onto the sand as the inky blue sky shined above with stars and the ocean played its soft melody.
“I love you, Poe.” You whispered, sighing in blissful content.
He held you in his arms and kissed you like it was the first time again, full of passion and emotion. You rolled your hips to indicate you were happy to stay out on the beach for a little while, a soft moan on your lips.
Poe chuckled warm and low, his hands falling to the waist of his pants. “Oh, sweet girl, I love you too.”

___
Spring Break was imminent for the kids of Guang University. It was your freshman year and your friends all had different plans. You planned to stay home and get a head start on your homework and catch up on all of your favorite Korean dramas.
You headed out of the school with Haechan, your best friend. He had plans to go visit his family in South Korea for a couple of days. You were bummed that your closest friend wouldn’t be in town for the break.
“You sure you don’t want to come to Seoul with me? We might bump into Ji Chang Wook. You never know.” Ji Chang Wook was your celebrity crush.
You balanced your giant biology textbook while you tried to find your phone. “That’s tempting but I have a big exam right after break and I’ve been behind for weeks...So now I have to cram.”
Haechan sighed. “Y/n, you need to give yourself some down time.”
You frowned. “What are you talking about?”
Haechan sighed. “You haven’t come out to any parties in the past two months.”
You sighed. “Well...”
Haechan whined. “You’re supposed to be my party buddy...”
“Well, party buddy, then explain Daniela, Hazel, and Ally,” you said, calling out your best friend for not being so lonely at these parties after all.
“I-“ Haechan started.
Before Haechan could explain, a group of girls you’d tried so hard to avoid walked by and “accidentally” bumped into you, making you drop your book to the ground.
The girl who bumped into you turned and laughed. “I’m SO sorry. Maybe if you didn’t take up so much space, it wouldn’t have happened.”
The other girls laughed as they began to saunter off.
You groaned. You thought bullies retired once they graduated from high school when reality finally gave them a slap to the face.
Well, unfortunately for you, the mean girls from your old high school were smart enough to get into your dream school so you now occasionally saw them. And worse, shared a biology lab with them. The head of the pack, Heather, always had it out for you for always beating her for the best grade in class. You’d get a 94 and she’d get a 93. You were just happy to get an A and she was furious she wasn’t number 1. You guessed it had to do with her superiority complex and how she had to please her wealthy parents.
Haechan yelled, “Heather, what the hell-“
Heather started, “What? It’s a simple observation.”
Well, not everyone could be a size 0 like Heather. You knew that you had a healthy body shape. Sure, you know you could use improvements but you were human. No one was perfect. Nothing Heather could say could make you think she was right. She was just a hater.
“Have a nice break, Heather. Maybe your dad will finally come home,” you said as you grabbed Haechan’s hand and walked off.
“Hey! y/n, get back here!” Heather demanded. Her dad and her mom were separated for a while now and he was never home to spend time with his precious daughter.
Heather’s bark had always been bigger than her bite. So you didn’t let her words get to you. Not anymore.
___
Haechan went home while you waited to call an Uber to take you to the record store across town.  You may as well go out and do one fun thing before you hunkered down at home for the break.
That was when you heard someone sobbing hard. And you couldn’t help but find the source.
The boy sat down on a bench by the bus stop. It was the campus heartthrob, Na Jaemin. You’d shared a couple of lectures with him this year. He was very sweet, always had something to compliment you on. Your hair, your lipstick, your outfit.
Well, then he would proceed to ask for help with assignments but you appreciated getting paid with flattery.
You frowned. “A-are you okay?” You started. “Do you need help?”
Jaemin looked up as tears ran down his beautifully sculpted face. His eyes widened at the sight of you. He wiped his tears away with his jacket sleeve. He shook his head. “Y/n! Hey, I’m…okay…I just-“
You sat down beside him and pulled an unopened bottle of water out of your backpack. You handed it to him. “Here.”
He looked down at it and asked, “Are you sure?”
You nodded. “Go ahead.”
“Thank you,” he said, managing a half-smile.
He drank from it as you waited.
He exhaled in satisfaction. “Thank you, y/n. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you like this. School and work have been so stressful…I just needed to let it all out.”
You hesitated before you put a hand on his back. You moved it gently against his muscular upper back. “I’m sorry…Do you…wanna talk about it?”
Jaemin froze and debated telling you. “I got fired from my job…” He admitted.
You removed your hand from his back. “Jaemin, that’s terrible…I’m so sorry…What happened?”
He shook his head. “The boss was kinda harsh. I couldn’t take it. I slipped up once and I got the ax.”
You tried to meet his eyes. “I’m so sorry, Jaemin.”
Jaemin managed a smile for you. “Thank you, y/n. You’re always sweet. Always good. I’m glad you’re here with me.” He placed a hand over yours.
This may or may not have made you want to scream with excitement. But your better judgment told you to contain yourself because Jaemin was upset.
Your little moment was interrupted by Heather and her cohorts.
Heather stood in front of Jaemin, noticing his red eyes “Oh, Nana, what’s wrong?”
Jaemin didn’t look all that thrilled to see Heather either. “It’s nothing…Don’t worry about it.”
“Because if y/n is bothering you, she should leave. Isn’t that right, y/n?” Heather turned to you with her hands on her hips.
You were about to snap when Jaemin beat you to it. “Actually, Heather, she’s not. So what can I do for you so you can leave faster?”
Heather looked at her group in shock. Her minions all let out audible gasps and whispers. “Jaemin...”
“I’m waiting,” Jaemin said, a new commanding tone overtaking him.
“We wanted to know if you’re coming to my cabin this weekend.” She tried to come off flirtatious but after his rebuff, she was confused.
“Maybe,” Jaemin replied, “If y/n comes.”
“What?” You and Heather exclaimed.
“I’ll go if y/n goes,” Jaemin said resolutely.
You started, “Jaemin, I-”
Jaemin interrupted. “I need this, y/n. A time to get away. And if you come, I would love it…” He said softly, almost intimately…Like no one else was around.
You’d had a crush on Jaemin since the first day of Intro to Theater. Jaemin was a tremendous actor. He was an excellent Demetrius to your Helena in your act for A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Jaemin was always so nice. You thought the most he would do for you is give you a dollar for the vending machine. And that would’ve made your heart soar to the moon.
It was odd that you were considering going somewhere to hang out with Heather and her friends...But you did want to get to know Jaemin more.
What about your homework?
Well, it could wait.
And what about Heather?
Well, pissing off Heather was a hobby of yours.
One of Heather’s friends coughed. And Heather rolled her eyes. “Fine. Meet at my house at 7 AM tomorrow.”
___
Your older sister Sophie drove you to Heather’s. “Why are you going to Lucifer's spawn’s cabin?”
You sighed. “Because a cute boy asked me to.”
Sophie put the car in park right in front of Heather’s mansion. She looked at you in disbelief and fascination. “A boy?”
You said, “He wanted me to come.”
Sophie laughed. “Well, y/n, he must be very cute if you’re willing to hang out with Her Royal Darkness.”
“Like her ego, I’m sure the cabin is big enough so I don’t have to see her.”
You were both so distracted that you didn’t notice Jaemin knock on your passenger side window. He smiled brightly. Wow, he looked incredible for someone who woke up and texted you good morning at 5:30 AM.
“Wow,” your sister said, in shock from Jaemin’s beauty. She rolled down your window.
“Ready to go, y/n?” Jaemin asked. You saw the expectant look in his eyes. He was radiant and much more relaxed. You were so happy to see him. He seemed to feel a lot better.
“Jaemin, this is my older sister, Sophie,” you said, “Sophie, this is my friend Jaemin.”
They shook hands and Sophie muttered, “You better tell me everything when you get back. And that I am the maid of honor at your wedding.”
“Bye, Sophie! We’ll go on our run together when I come back on Sunday, okay?” You said louder to deflect from what Jaemin could’ve overheard. You and Sophie ran together every weekend for stress relief and bonding time. You got out of the car and hoped Jaemin hadn’t heard anything.
Jaemin offered to give you a ride on his Jeep Explorer to Heather’s cabin, much to Heather’s disappointment. Heather’s friends were riding with her.
You and Jaemin had fun on the road for two hours, just the two of you. You enjoyed some old school Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, and Britney Spears. You snagged the CDs from your sister’s collection.
“Every little thing I do never seems enough for you!” You and Jaemin sang.
You too had gotten off the route to get snacks at a convenience store and because Jaemin needed to fill up his tank. He insisted you put your wallet away. He bought all of your favorite junk food essentials: M&Ms, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, Coke, Orange Fanta. This boy knew his way into your heart.
“So, y/n, what’s your end goal in life?” He asked as he continued the route to Heather’s cabin. “You strike me as an aspiring pediatrician...Saving the children!”
You laughed at his enthusiasm. “I’d like to be a physical therapist. My parents got into a car accident when I was nine...My mom was fine but my dad broke his right leg and right arm. He needed to get physical therapy in order to walk properly again...I went with him to almost all of his appointments. I have a lot of respect for physical therapists after how much they helped him…”
“I’m glad your dad recovered,” Jaemin said as he gave you a quick smile before gluing his eyes back onto the road.
“Me, too...But...my end goal in life? Honestly, I just want my own space to dance around in...With no shame.”
Jaemin chuckled. “No shame, huh? Does that mean you’re a terrible dancer?”
You smacked him. “No. Well, I’m sure there are worse dancers.”
He laughed harder. “Okay...I believe you.”
You laughed. “What about you, Jaemin? What’s your end goal?”
He sighed. “Start up my own content-creating company...I’m into traveling and uncovering hidden gems. Be the next big thing after Buzzfeed Unsolved.”
“Those are some pretty big shoes to fill…” You started.
Jaemin sounded unsure. “Yeah…”
You smiled, “I know you can do it. You’ve got a subscriber in me.”
Jaemin faked a tear. “You have no idea how much that means to me.”
You both laughed again as you reached for the M&Ms and your hands touched. You quickly pulled away, embarrassed. But Jaemin smiled to himself.
Jaemin said, “But as cheesy as it sounds...I want to get married, get a big house, and fill it with twelve children.”
You coughed. “Twelve? Are you and your future wife thinking of splitting the pregnancies up?”
Jaemin laughed. “Okay, maybe not twelve...But a family of my own is my dream. My parents split up when I was five so...I’ve split my time between two homes and it was an awkward feeling, especially after both of my parents remarried.”
“Oh…” You said. You couldn’t exactly sympathize with him because your parents were happily married so you didn’t want to say anything that could rub him the wrong way. That was the last thing you wanted.
“I want to be with that one person...For the rest of my life...When I meet her, I’ll know.” He said, giving you a meaningful look.
You had no idea how to process that so you took a sip of your blue raspberry ICEE and held it in the air, awkwardly. “Here’s to you finding your soulmate someday.”
He chuckled. “Thank you.”
___
You arrived at Heather’s summer home...Well, she called it a cabin. But it was actually a mansion by the beach. It was gorgeous. Something straight out of a movie. It looked like it could be its own hotel resort. You realized that there was a good chance you’d have your own room.
“This house is huge!” You exclaimed.
Jaemin looked along with you as he handed you your bag. “What a shame. I was hoping we would room together.” He said softly into your ear.
You turned to him in shock and he shot you his infamous flirty grin. This boy had you thinking he liked you and he’d better stop before you tried to kiss him.
Heather handed everyone keys to their bedrooms. “If any of you lose this copy, I can’t help you.” She made sure to say that as she handed you your keys.
You went up the stairs of the beach house and chose the last room on the left. You were unlocking the door to your room when someone from behind you tapped you on the shoulder.
“Hey, you’re y/n, right?” You recognized Yangyang from your mandatory PE class. You both took Intermediate Swimming, a class where as long as you flailed in the water and passed the easy quizzes, you’d be guaranteed an A.
You nodded. “And you’re…”
He said, “I’m Yangyang. It’s so nice to see you here!”
“You, too,” you said, averting your eyes once again. Yangyang was pretty attractive and you hoped he didn’t remember you and your Sailor Moon one piece. You always tried to be one of the first in the water and the last to leave when it came to your swimming class.
Even though Heather’s comments were nothing to you, it didn’t mean you were completely immune to the hurt it caused.
“You were in Coach Emerson’s swim class, right? You had the iconic Sailor Moon swimsuit.”
And there went the rest of your hopes and dreams. “Y-yeah…”
He laughed. “Don’t be embarrassed. I had Dragon Ball Z swim trunks.”
“Really?” You said.
Yangyang pretended to be hurt and winced. “I thought you’d be the one to notice.”
“Well...I’m not exactly looking at anyone’s...body…” You said, cringing at your words.
He laughed. “Fair point. I just liked the pattern. Your favorite character is Sailor Mars, right?”
You nodded, “Hell yeah. She’s the best.”
“I’m more of a Sailor Venus guy, myself,” he replied.
“Good taste. But all of the Sailor Scouts are queens,” you started.
“No question,” Yangyang said. “Hey, do you-” His phone started to ring. “Sorry, y/n...I gotta take this.”
You waved goodbye to him and entered your spacious bedroom. As much as Heather despised you and you despised her, her family had excellent taste in real estate. The queen-sized bed was plush like a cloud straight from heaven. You pulled the window up to feel the ocean breeze. It was paradise.
You heard a knock at your door an hour later. It was Jaemin.
“Wanna go for a walk?” He asked.
“Sure!” You said, having already changed into a sundress.
Jaemin thought you looked stunning. Well, you always did. He was so happy to be here with you. Otherwise, he may not have gone on this trip.
Jaemin led you to the beach where you let your toes touch the water. He teased you by splashing you. And you splashed him back until you both were soaked.
You both laughed so hard that you toppled over each other, you on top of Jaemin. You both stared at each other for a long time. Jaemin closed his eyes, his long eyelashes caressing his cheeks. He waited for you to kiss him.
You moved closer and your lips met his. His lips tasted salty thanks to you and your merciless splashing. But the kiss was everything. It was fireworks at the end of a perfect night. It was hot chocolate on a warm winter night. It was like an angel held you and you snuggled against his wings. The kiss was perfect.
You two let go and Jaemin bit his lip. “So.”
You stood there, frozen. “So…”
“So...we did that.”
You nodded. “Indeed we did.”
“Thoughts?” He looked at you with his big brown eyes.
You cleared your throat. “Well...I certainly wouldn’t mind doing that again.”
Jaemin’s big gorgeous goofy smile came back full force at hearing you. He cupped your face in his hands and was about to kiss you again.
“Guys!” Naeun called out to you. “Have you seen Yangyang?”
You and Jaemin pulled yourselves apart. You answered, “Last time I saw him was when he went to his room. Is everything okay?”
“He wasn’t answering his phone...And I found it in his room.” She held up his phone that had a Dragon Ball Z pop socket on the back of it.
You frowned. “That’s weird.”
Jaemin offered. “Maybe he went for a walk. Got some fresh air?”
“Maybe…” Naeun thought and you nodded. “If you see him, tell him I’m looking for him and that I’m pissed.”
“Okay,” you said.
Naeun stomped away, frustrated.
“Now where were-” you started.
Jaemin already pulled you in for another kiss. He pinned you down against the shoreline and trailed your neck with his kisses.
You breathed heavily as you held him tightly.
He looked at you, as if asking you something.
You gave him a look. “What’s up?”
“Do you want to…” His eyes moved down to his pelvic region where his member was protruding through the fabric of his trunks.
Your eyes widened at how big he was. And your eyes nearly popped out of your head when you realized what he was asking. “Oh…”
Jaemin waited for you patiently.
Things were moving too fast. You were more than happy to kiss Jaemin all night but you really weren’t ready to have sex. Not tonight, anyway.
You already knew the answer. “I’m sorry Jaemin. I do like you but...I’m...not ready. I should go…” You got up but Jaemin stopped you. It was like a romantic Korean drama scene, except instead of your wrist ...He grabbed your ankle.
“It’s okay...You don’t have to go. Please don’t go…” He begged as he made a puppy dog pout.
You laughed, relieved. “Okay okay...You can stop making that face.”
Jaemin pouted his lips even more. “What face?”
You rolled your eyes and splashed him. You and Jaemin spent a couple of hours on the beach, kissing and talking. You wrapped up and he walked you to your bedroom.
___
You woke up early the next morning to hear screaming and crying. You got out of bed and ran out the door.
“What’s wrong?” You asked, finding Naeun devastated on the floor. Heather sat down with her on the ground and consoled her.
“Yangyang…” She said between sobs. “He’s gone!”
Renjun looked grave as he handed you his phone. “We all got these messages. Did you, y/n?”
You looked at what was on Renjun’s phone screen and there was a video of Yangyang, bound up and gagged. Tears streamed down his eyes. He mumbled loudly for help.
Tears fell out of your eyes. “What the hell is this?”
You couldn’t believe it. You’d just had a whole conversation with him yesterday. He was friendly and funny…
And now he was like this.
Jaemin replied, “Someone’s idea of a sick joke...I don’t recommend looking at the rest of the story, y/n…”
You ignored him and kept watching. The next video pointed to a wall and you could hear Yangyang clearly now...He was yelling. “No! Who are you? Why are you doing this? Stop! Nooooooo!” The video cut off after that. The last picture was of Yangyang with his throat slit with text that read: “Wonder who will be next...It’s anyone’s guess, really. 🧐 #springbreak2020”
You ran into the bathroom and threw up. The rest of the group followed you into the bathroom. “Well, y/n?” Tzuyu started.
“Well, what?” You asked.
“Show us your phone,” Tzuyu demanded.
“Why?” You asked.
Jaemin intervened, “Why are you guys ganging up on her?”
“We’ve checked everyone’s phones...Now we want to see y/n’s,” Tzuyu said, a vindictive look in her eyes.
“Fine,” you said. You pulled it out of your pocket and you were shocked to find the messages on your phone.
“Someone sent them to her, too. She’s as innocent as the rest of us,” Renjun said.
Tzuyu frowned. “Okay…”
She seemed disappointed that you weren’t the culprit. You wondered why Tzuyu hated you. She was merely one of Heather’s followers so you guessed she would hate anyone Heather hated no matter what.
Still, this didn’t alleviate any of your worries. Someone kidnapped and murdered Yangyang overnight. And whoever that was remained close by.
And they weren’t finished.
Unfortunately for all of you, your cell reception was weak so you couldn’t contact the police. You were on the verge of a panic attack.
Renjun decided, “We should try going to the next town to get reception.”
Tzuyu started, “You are not leaving me here.”
“Fine, we’ll go together.” He said as they both walked off and borrowed Heather’s car.
___
You sat in the living room, scared to be in your room all alone. Hell, you didn’t mind being with Heather and Naeun. Jaemin was making lunch in the kitchen for you guys.
It had been a few hours since Renjun and Tzuyu left. Now you were all getting worried. The next town wasn’t that far off, according to Heather. So something was up.
And you wondered if it had been a good idea for them to leave. Maybe they had been just as much in danger as the rest of you. Whoever the killer was...He had resources to be anywhere at any time. It gave you shivers.
“Y/n, can you get Naeun a glass of water?” Heather asked you.
You nodded and met Jaemin in the kitchen. You asked him once again, “Are you sure I can’t help with anything?”
Jaemin shook his head. “I’ve got this.” He said as he finished making lasagna.
You got a glass of water for Naeun. “Jaemin, I’m scared,” you said.
Jaemin looked rattled up, too, but he seemed to be holding it together for the rest of you. And it meant a lot to you.
The four of you sat down to eat quietly. Naeun barely took a bite of her lasagna.
Not too long after, she started wheezing. Hives broke out onto her skin. “Epi...Pen...Heather.”
Heather jumped out of her seat. “I’ll go get it!”
“Oh God,” you panicked. “You need air! Let’s go outside, Naeun.”
You and Jaemin helped her out to the front door so she can breathe better. You were praying Heather found her EpiPen soon.
Heather returned, upset, “Are you sure it’s in your purse? I couldn’t find it.”
Naeun nodded. “Yes…”
When you realized Naeun’s EpiPen was missing, you ran up to your room and grabbed yours. “I brought mine!”
“Hurry up!” Heather said.
You ran back down and Naeun was able to get the injection she needed to recover from her reaction.
Heather took Naeun up to her room to recover.
“I wonder what Naeun was allergic to…” You said to Jaemin.
Jaemin frowned. “I don’t know...I had no idea she had severe allergies. Maybe it was in one of the ingredients but I’m not sure which one…God, I feel terrible.” He put his face in his hands.
“Hey, it’s okay...It was an accident...She’ll be okay,” you said as you hugged him.
“It was a good thing you had your EpiPen, y/n...You’re amazing…”
“Or I just have severe allergies, too,” you said.
He laughed awkwardly. “Right…”
Even more hours passed. Renjun and Tzuyu haven’t returned. Everyone was antsy.
You and Jaemin were going to go out and look for them but you were shocked to find his tires had been slit recently.
This wasn’t a coincidence. The killer was watching your every move. You wondered if he had gotten to Renjun and Tzuyu. Your throat dried up at just thinking that.
You and Heather grabbed weapons from her father’s shed, which included gardening shears and hunting rifles.
Heather taught you how to handle the rifle. You both went back into the house with your weapons in tow. You all made sure to shut all of the windows and close all of the doors. You scoured the entire property. No one can come in. And no could come out. You hoped there wasn’t some random secret entrance to this house that rich people always seemed to have in the movies. You all reluctantly headed to bed.
You sat up on the edge of your bed. You were comfortable in a concert tee and some shorts. You wanted to wear something that would be easy to run in. Just in case the killer would come for you next.
Jaemin was at your door. “Hey…Heather and Naeun both fell asleep.”
“How can they be asleep...I can’t sleep knowing that that bastard is out there…” You said.
Jaemin walked into the room. “Can I sit with you?”
You nodded. “Jaemin, what are we going to do...We can’t just stay here. We're sitting ducks. Renjun and Tzuyu are just gone...And we don’t know when or even if they're coming back…”
Jaemin rubbed your back in small circles. His touch was distracting. Kissing Jaemin would be a great distraction.
Making love to him would be even better.
That would be ridiculous. The last thing you wanted to do was have sex when a murderer was afoot. That would be a total cliche.
Jaemin replied. “I’m sorry, y/n...I think our best bet is to wait it out until morning and go to the next town on foot.”
You nodded. “Yeah...Maybe daytime will be safer.”
Jaemin nodded. “Why don’t you go to sleep and I’ll take the first shift?”
“Really?” You asked.
“Yeah, I’m wired. I had three cups of coffee in the past hour. You need to rest, y/n.” Jaemin said as he pulled the covers over you. “I’ll come back to wake you. I’ll be on guard.” He grabbed one of the hunting rifles he left outside the door.
“Thank you,” you said as you shut your eyes. Sleep quickly took over.
___
You were quickly shaken awake. “Y/n get the fuck up!” Heather hissed.
“Heather?” You exclaimed.
She shushed you. “Shut up. You need to come with me right now.”
“What’s wrong?” You whispered.
Heather made sure your door was locked before she returned back to you. “Naeun is dead.”
You looked carefully at Heather and had seen that she’d been crying. “What?” You asked. “That’s impossible.”
“We shouldn’t have left her alone. She said she was fine. She seemed fine. I went to check on her and...she wasn’t breathing. And...I think she was smothered, y/n.”
“Wait...Are you saying…”
“The killer is Jaemin,” Heather said.
“What? Why would you say that?” You shook your head.
“Think about it, y/n. None of us has good reception here so how is that we got those texts about Yangyang? The killer had to be in close proximity to us. Tzuyu and Renjun left in my car, which he probably messed with so they got into an accident...And...I don’t even want to say what could’ve happened...Whatever Jaemin put in the lasagna almost killed Naeun. Then, her EpiPen fucking disappeared. And then, conveniently right after, his tires were slit. And now, since he couldn’t finish the job the first time, he smothered Naeun to death.”
“Heather...Jaemin wouldn’t…” You started.
“I know...I had my doubts, too, but...he gave me some calming tea before I went to sleep...When it cooled down, I tested it...It’s been drugged.”
Your heart sank. “How do you know?”
“My dad’s company is working with the nail polish that can track date rape drugs. My painted nail changed color when I tested it out. Jaemin tried to drug me, y/n…” She showed you her neon green polish and the one fingernail that turned black.
You covered your hand over your mouth.
“I had a feeling he would come check up on me so I tossed some of the tea down the drain and pretended I was asleep. He came back to check that I was asleep, y/n...That’s just creepy. Why the hell would he need to drug me?”
Not knowing how to answer, you started, “Heather...Maybe…”
Jaemin surprised you both by breaking the wood of the door down with an ax. He made a big enough hole to unlock the door from the inside.
You and Heather yelled. Jaemin heard everything.
Jaemin started. “Heather, why are you up? I thought I was going to take care of you tomorrow in my grand finale…”
“Shit,” Heather said as she got closer to you.
“Jaemin? What grand finale?” You demanded. “What is going on?”
Jaemin smiled wide at you. “Sweetheart, I thought I told you to sleep.”
The look in Jaemin’s eyes became cold...Calculating.
“y/n...It’s no accident that I asked for you to come on this trip…” Jaemin said as he pulled a knife out of his pocket and twirled it around his hand. “I thought you’d partake in the festivities…”
“What festivities?” Heather demanded. “Why the fuck did you try to drug me? Why did you kill Naeun? What the hell did she do to you?”
Jaemin tsked as he met Heather’s eyes. “Why wouldn’t I kill Naeun? Why wouldn’t I kill them all? Think about it, you ungrateful little brat.”
You found yourself moving closer to Heather then for she was your only living ally. Albeit the biggest bitch in the land.
Jaemin killed everyone.
Jaemin was the killer.
Heather shook her head. “Jaemin, stay the fuck away from us. I swear to God. Or I’ll-”
Jaemin chuckled. “You’ll what? Call Daddy? Call Mommy? They’re both abroad, never giving a second thought about their spoiled daughter...Those two think you couldn’t be safer and more comfortable…It’s ridiculous...A girl who has everything...Takes it upon herself to put others down...You’ve put y/n down for years...You’ve never let go your childish and petty hatred for her...And for what reason?”
Heather’s resolve faded when she realized what you had.
“Jaemin…” You started.
“Y/n, did you not realize that each person on this trip has fucked with you one way or another?” He asked.
Well, the girls were bitches, yes, but…
“Naeun was the one who spread that rumor about you getting your breast implants...Tzuyu was the one who nearly ran you over in the student parking lot...Renjun body shamed you in the boys’ locker room...And Yangyang told us all that he wanted to take your virginity this weekend…”
“Jaemin!” Heather exclaimed.
“You should’ve been careful with who you added in your group chat full of morons, Heather....Ah, and Heather, dear...you’re the ringleader in all of this...You goaded Naeun and Tzuyu to do these things to y/n. You’ve set out to put y/n down for a long time now. You even went along with Renjun and Yangyang’s comments about y/n’s body...Fuck you, by the way, she’s perfect in every way...And I should’ve made them all go through slower...more painful deaths for all of the things you said about her...”
You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. You had no idea that even boys were targeting you...First off, you literally just breathed. The girls were childish and petty but…
“Jaemin,” you said.
“Yes, sweetheart?” Jaemin asked with a kinder smile to you.
“What they all did to me was wrong...But you didn’t have to…”
Jaemin’s eyes widened. “Kill them? Well, it wasn’t up to you...All of these people are worthless scum that won’t amount to much, honestly….So was it really a waste?”
Heather surprised you by pulling a handgun out of her pocket. She shot Jaemin in the chest. “y/n, let’s go!” She pulled you out of the bed and you both ran for your lives.
“Agh!” Jaemin groaned as he fell to the ground.
You both ran down the stairs. Heather unlocked the front door, knowing the house was no longer safe.
You both ran down the steps of the entrance. You had to pull Heather with you because she ran too slow for you. Then, you heard a gunshot.” Heather fell down. She’d been shot in the foot. “Fuck!” She yelled.
You turned to see Jaemin at the entrance with a hunting rifle. “Bulletproof vest, baby!”
You yelled as you tried to help Heather up.
Jaemin asked, genuinely confused. “Y/n, why are you running? This has nothing to do with you.”
You gaped. “Are you kidding me? Apparently, this has everything to do with me…Jaemin put the gun down! Please stop!”
Jaemin shook his head. “Out of the question, sweetheart. You’d be smart to leave Heather to me.”
Heather began to cry. “No…”
You wrapped Heather’s arm around you and both walked off. Heather winced with pain but she could manage as you kept running. Jaemin was getting closer and closer. He waited, then.
You and Heather were confused. Why did he stop running?
You and Heather both walked over a bear traps you both hadn’t seen.
You yelped in pain and Heather cried out, “Son of a bitch!”
It hurt for both of you to move an inch. You both cried.
Jaemin made his way over, using a flashlight. He sighed. “Y/n, you should’ve stopped running. Now you’ve your beautiful ankle...Well, it’s no big deal...I can disinfect it and patch it up nicely for you...After I’m done with Heather.”
“Jaemin, no, please stop. You don’t have to do this. I don’t want you to do this. That’s enough!” You pleaded.
At the sound of your last two words, Jaemin froze. The words brought him back to when he was a kid and he would pummel other children for bullying his younger siblings. His parents would beg him to stop. It was too bad that their words didn’t stick. And your words were no different.
Jaemin sighed. “I’m sorry, y/n…” He whacked the back of his gun over your head so you blacked out.
___
Heather had also been knocked out. She awoke to being tied up and sitting in the hot tub beside the Olympic sized swimming pool in the backyard. She noted that bricks were tied around her ankles. As she tried to pull herself up, it was impossible for her to get out.
Jaemin smiled wickedly as he wielded the thermostat. “You’ve always prided yourself on being the hottest girl at our college...Why don’t we put that to the test?”
“Jaemin, please stop! I am so sorry!” She cried. “Please don’t do this! I messed up! I...I’ve always been jealous of y/n! Because she was the one who had everything. The perfect family. The perfect grades. The perfect body. Everything about her is so damn effortless that I hated it.” She hoped that pouring her soul out to him might make him change his mind.
“Oh, boohoo…” Jaemin said as he increased the heat.
Heather grew uncomfortable. “Jaemin...Stop...Please...It’s too hot…”
Jaemin sighed. “Goodbye Heather…”
___
You slowly woke up seated on the passenger side of Jaemin’s Jeep. Your eyes quickly opened when you realized that. You jerked awake and found Jaemin in the driver’s seat, calm and composed. “I think we’re alone now...”
You backed up against your window. “Jaemin! Where is Heather?”
“Oh, she’s tied up at the moment...In the hot tub...She is indeed the hottest girl from our college now…” Jaemin said, a chuckle escaping his lips at his pun.
You were about to be sick. You pulled the window and vomited. You tried moving by the gash from the bear trap made you wince and groan in pain.
“Oh, y/n...I didn’t mean for you to get hurt...You couldn’t help it, though. Wanting to help that brat till the end...Because you see the good in people...You are simply too pure.”
“Jaemin...Where are we going?”
“To the next town...Where we will report a murderer that broke into Heather’s summer home…”
You looked at him in disbelief. Surely, he wouldn't turn himself in.
“The murderer is at large and we narrowly escaped, y/n...I got you out of the bear trap and we were able to get away in my car…”
You shook your head. “Jaemin, no...They’ll never believe you...”
Jaemin shocked you by breaking down the same way he had the day before you left for the trip. “Officers, please h-help us. Our friends are gone!”
You looked at him in disbelief. Did he fake crying before?
Well, you did think he was a tremendous actor. You just didn’t know how right you were.
“Jaemin, this is wrong…” You started.
He sighed. “Y/n...you worry too much...Now your life will be brighter...It’ll be perfect now. Perfect for the perfect girl…”
You contemplated how the hell you could get away from Jaemin. Your options were limited as he’d taken your phone. You couldn’t exactly run that far but you could find a way to slow him down. You noticed Heather’s car off the side of the road. It’d rammed into a tree. Jaemin must have tampered with Heather’s car, you realized. He did admit to having a hand in their disappearance, after all.
You thought fast and with all of your strength you moved over to Jaemin’s side and turned the wheel so the car collided into the trees.
The impact was intense but you’d dodged most of the impact. Jaemin laid next to you, unconscious and bleeding.
You limped out of the car and checked Heather’s car. As you feared, Renjun and Tzuyu died from the impact. It was a gruesome sight. They dealt with blunt trauma. Their heads were draining blood. You nearly puked again.
Before you broke down in tears, you thought fast and remembered Renjun and Tzuyu smoked. You rummaged through the glove compartment for a weapon or a phone...You came up short with Renjun’s lighter. Tzuyu’s phone had some battery left. The reception was low so you had to find a way to get to the next town to get reception.
So now what the hell were you going to do, you weren’t going to light a car up on fire...And burn the evidence that was once Tzuyu and Renjun.
You noticed the gas leak that came from under the car. You got under the hood of Heather’s car and found the gasoline tank leaking. You grabbed an empty Starbucks cup from the front seat and let the gasoline slip in.
___
You ran, not getting very far when Jaemin called out to you. He was able to walk normally and he was quickly catching up to you.
“Y/n! Sweetheart! Where are you going? Without me...” Jaemin called out.
You turned quickly and found he walked over to you with an ax.
“Fuck off, Jaemin!” You said, realizing he was just as capable of killing you.
“Sweetheart, let’s just talk about this...I did this all for you...Because I love you...I want to make you happy. I want to marry you. Have twelve children...Ah, yes, you said twelve may be excessive...How does eleven kids sound?”
You rolled your eyes. He was fucking insane. You decided to provoke him. “What makes you think I would marry a deranged killer?”
Jaemin’s face was unreadable then. You hid the cup of gasoline away in your sweater. Pretending you've injured your arm so Jaemin wouldn’t be the wiser.
“Y/n, please…”
You entertained him by turning around.
“What, Jaemin? How could you possibly convince me that anything you did was okay?”
“If you let me try…” Jaemin started. He got closer to you.
You waited for him to get closer and quickly doused him with the gasoline.
Jaemin coughed as some of the gasoline got in his mouth. “y/n, what are you-”
“Goodbye, Jaemin.” You ignited Renjun’s lighter and tossed it at him.
Jaemin clothes caught on fire. He yelled in agony as you watched him struggle. He threw the axe at you but he missed. You cried as you went back to Jaemin’s car and started up the ignition. Thank goodness, it still worked.
Jaemin immediately removed his clothes to remove himself from most of the flames and patted himself down. He immediately charged at you as you backed the car up from the tree.
You didn’t think twice as you ran him over. Checking the rearview mirror and seeing the job hadn’t been completed, you reversed the car and ran him over again.
You waited ten minutes to see that Jaemin was dead. You got out of the car and kicked his body to check for any movement. You got his heavy, lifeless body into the car with you. You checked his pulse again. He was dead. You checked multiple times because once again, you weren’t about to become a movie cliche.
You made it to the next town and reported Jaemin’s murders and how you killed him in self-defense. You explained your weekend of terror and you were at the station all week for questioning. Your family joined you and consoled you as you told them all you knew.
The police scoured the mansion. They found Yangyang’s body in the pool house, beaten to a bloody pulp. They found Naeun’s body in her bed, like she’d been in perpetual slumber. They found Heather’s body in the hot tub, wrinkled and burnt. They found Heather’s car where Tzuyu and Renjun’s bodies remained.
Jaemin told you the truth. He worked part-time at hardware store. He had been fired that day for snapping at one of the customer’s who was berating his wife. Before Jaemin left, he stole an ax. He really did get the ax, like he’d told you.
It turned out Jaemin tampered with the reception at Heather’s house and because her house was already remote...Jaemin was able to use that to his advantage. He used the last of the reception before he cut it off to send the texts about Yangyang from a burner phone, which was uncovered in his Jeep. Yangyang’s phone was unlocked and the police uncovered his messages that were supposedly from his dealer, who he scheduled to meet with the night he disappeared. It turned out Jaemin hacked into the dealer’s phone to get Yangyang right where he wanted him. Jaemin did indeed tamper with the wires of Heather’s car so Tzuyu and Renjun’s fates were sealed. The leftover lasagna Jaemin had prepared was analyzed and there were traces of crushed peanuts in the lasagna. Naeun had a severe peanut allergy. Naeun’s EpiPen was found with Jaemin’s other belongings. When you’d saved Naeun with your EpiPen, Jaemin took it upon himself to smother Naeun with a pillow in her sleep. Jaemin had planted bear traps around the front lawn, which was how he caught you and Heather. Heather died from heat exhaustion in the hot tub as she was tied up and restrained with bricks tied around her ankles. Jaemin had done all of this with gloved hands so no trace of his DNA could be found at the crime scenes. If it hadn’t been for the evidence he’d hidden in his car, then the case would’ve been more difficult to resolve.
Jaemin’s body was recovered at the crime scene. Thankfully, he was not a movie cliche where he up and left and awaited his next victim. He was dead to the world and most importantly, dead to you.

It was a rainy night at Boleham castle and it’s only gotten rainier for the closest subordinates of the eccentric baron
“Lord Veigar please. This is for your own good!”From the outside it would look like a bunch of alternative fur balls in a playful struggle, but this was a desperate fight. No one wanted to upset the lord’s boundaries or cage him in like a cat but this is the only way he’s going to go anywhere. Stubbornness only gets you so far.
Veigar always responded to his lackeys nagging about his health with a dismissive “I’ll get to it later” or any other way of saying that. Really he just wants to forget about it all. It’s not like he enjoys chronic pain but he tries to pretend it’s not there. A few thousand years of torture isn’t gonna be solved with a little rest. And that’s why he’s found himself in this situation.
His tailor finally calms down him enough with affirmations that he’s not old or weak or small as he summons a portal to bandle city. Hey they might not be deemed normal society there but it’s just so convenient for things like missions and in this case visiting family in far off places.
Before that rookie recruit can yell at them to not loiter in this magical city where time is relative, TS finds the destination they need to go and gives a quick “ta ta” to the yordling for fun as they jump through the portal.
That cheers up veigar a bit, though it doesn’t distract him from the anxiety of having to place trust into a stranger. His yellow eyes look around where they’ve ported to, industrial city without his lungs struggling to breathe only means this is piltover. Well a piltover alley but hey, last time he was here he destroyed an entire city block so it’s probably best to keep a low profile.
It suddenly clicks as TS held his hand guiding him through the small alley network where the appointment was held.
“We are going to see your brother huh.” Veigar’s tiredness isn’t bothering to hide itself.
“I’m glad you remember him. It was nice showing part of my family where I work you know? I have a lot of pride in who I work for.”
Veigar smiles at the little comment, ugh he only remembers that curly haired guy that came in and turned whiter than his fur when he entered the room. That kept him going for like a week, what can he say, he loves when the first reaction to his presence is fear. Apparently the yordle that came then is a professor or some kind of prominent inventor in these parts, which fits TS’s description of him being a “big nerd”
Before long, Veigar realized they had arrived at the destination, a very basic door disguise charm was on it, like cheap wallpaper.
“…are you gonna come in with me?” Veigar’s voice barely a whisper. The robemaker squeezes his hand and nods. He opened the door which inside revealed in true yordle spirit both a very messy but organized laboratory.
The sound of mumbling and rifling through papers is heard. Did he even know he was going to have company? Veigar wondered.
“Cecil! I’ve brought a very very special client for you so you better do a good job or you aren’t hearing the end if it from me!”
A curly blonde head of hair pokes up in alarm
“Ah! Where are my manners?”
Cecil quickly and as gracefully as he could skittered to the front to meet his brother and veigar,his employer.
“It’s .. nice to see you again Mr. Veigar, before we start the checkup is there anything specific you would like to go over?”
Despite the formalities veigar could smell the awkward sense of fear from this yordle. Since he got dragged here, it’s probably best to actually address the issues he has. It’s not like this wreck of a yordle would tell of his weaknesses to others.
“My wrists and ankles burn.”
Veigar uttered the blunt statement, his face grew hot even with how quickly he said it. Maybe this teeth pulling session will move quicker.
“ Well, we’ll check that out first once we get you to the examination room.” Heimerdinger then walked the duo over to an isolated but much cleaner room.
Veigar is just happy that none of the interiors have been stone.
Before the exam door closes, Ts gives a quick little wave and shuts the door on the two of them. Knowing him he’s probably right outside the door reading a dated magazine and laughing about the fashion trends of piltover. Now it’s just the two of them, veigar gets onto the table without prompting.
“Well,ok let’s start with those vitals and we’ll move on to the problem areas.”
Heimerdinger quickly scrambles around in some drawers and finds the instruments he’s looking for, first he measures Veigar’s blood pressure which is surprisingly in a normal range. Next he uses a stethoscope on Veigar’s chest and this is when it gets weird.
“That’s strange, the beats are very very low.. and sounds like water are also there. Very very peculiar indeed..”
Heimerdinger scribbles down notes about said finding before continuing. “My brother said that you weren’t exactly like other yordles and I could see it for myself when we met the first time but I didn’t think about it too hard. This is thrilling!”
Veigar flattened his ears at that statement. “I’m not here to be a test subject you know.” This slowed the blonde down a bit.
“Alright could you remove your hat? I’m gonna check your ears now.”
Heimerdinger was trying to be more accommodating by the tone of his voice but that didn’t quell any of veigar’s apprehension. With a huff and a few deep breaths he removed his wide brimmed hat and set it to the side. Heimerdinger’s ears immediately drooped upon seeing the condition his outer ears were in.
“Oh my goodness! Were you in a fight recently??”
“…No” veigar replied quietly
Heimerdinger narrowed his blue eyes and found not fresh wounds at all but rather enough time has pasted where the tears and rips in the cartilage have completely healed up. The more he looked, the more scratches he could see on his face even if fur had most of them covered.
“We need to disinfect those immediately! What war did you even fight in to get so many scars??”
Heimerdinger frantically rushed over to a cabinet to find disinfectant. Veigar was torn on wether it felt nice to get fussed over or if this pity was more sickening than the wounds themselves. Heimerdinger suddenly stopped.
“…does my brother have to fight too?”
“He doesn’t, it’s not part of his job description after all.”
That seemed to comfort the flighty yordle enough to the point that he resumed his search.
“What does he do then? Something creepy?”
“… He makes dresses and robes weirdo.”
That comment made him huff, boy veigar would love to see his stupid little face right now.
“You said the same thing twice.”
Veigar crossed his legs as the yordle finally found what he was looking for.
“ I wouldn’t expect someone like you to understand fashion.” He said almost laughing before Cecil brought a soaked cotton round to his face. His fur bristled up intensely
“Fuck! Owww.”
“Sorry about that, I’ll warn you next time.”
Heimerdinger stared at Veigar’s face for a bit while slowly giving over the spots more softly. He honestly thought he would see the actual color of veigar’s fur when he took off the hat but it still stands as a tar black like the night. That wasn’t the least of the oddities either. His eyes were also quite curious.
“Why do your eyes not have pupils? I thought it was some kind of magic thing you do for your appearance but that doesn’t seem to be the case, if I look closer they almost .. seem ..hallow.”
“Let’s just call it magic, I don’t have any issues with sight and they haven’t been hurting in a while. I’m not going to let you rifle through there.”
Heimerdinger became paler as more and more of veigar’s injuries started to show their true colors. What kind of monster would even do that? How is he even standing?
“Don’t give me that look..just do your job ok?” The last part fizzled out from the commanding start but heimerdinger steeled his resolve and kept working, a lot of hissing was involved but it’s better than having more infection.
“I’ll let you do the rest on your own, I’m already invading a lot of space as I’ve been told. Let’s take a look at those problem areas now.”
Veigar nodded and proceeded to take off his gauntlet and roll up his sleeves. If he tried anything funny, veigar had more than enough magical power to obliterate him five times over. It was a calming thought as he showed heimerdinger his wrists.
His hands gave his true feelings up, the way they shook weakly under the scrutiny of another. Heimerdinger’s eyes widened and he tried to stifle the way he started to tear up at the gore set before him. He’s only known that type of burn from runic iron. Veigar’s wrists almost looked like a hallowed out tree, veins curled into spiral patterns around eachother and bone or kept the arm together, it was a caliber of wound he hadn’t even seen before.
“I.. can certainly see why these burn so much.. it’s like this on your ankles too right?”
Veigar nodded almost in embarrassment, he can almost see the wheels turning in Cecil’s head. It doesn’t take a genius to understand what happened, it might take one to find a solution however. Then heimerdinger asked something out of the blue as he searched for something in his already cluttered cabinets
“…are you a cult leader?”
The question was so ridiculous veigar had to stifle the cackle he had in response. It took his mind off things.
“I’m not sure, is it evil to be one of those?”
“Not like strictly speaking but it’s a way lot of the worst eggs have used to gain power.”
“Well then, no but be careful professor, you’re giving me ideas.”
This made Cecil almost bang his head on the top of the cabinet with how hard he laughed, though his hair sponged the damage. Say what you want but the heimerdinger family sure knows how to protect the head.
Soon Cecil came back with a bottle of pastel purple liquid and thin gauze strips with a noticeably better mood than when he first saw veigar’s oddities
“What’s that you’ve got there? How bad is it going to burn be honest.”
“It’s a purple elderflower solution, I’ve seen very good results from this exact formulation so you’re in good hands. It promotes magic cell regrowth while being gentle on the damaged area itself. While I can’t exactly speak on what it’ll do to your caliber of wounds, it’ll help make the area stronger I guarantee it sir.”
“I’ll hold you to your word Cecil.”
With that,Veigar presents his wrist while heimerdinger soaks the bandages in the solution. He methodically wraps the bandages around like it was the most important papier-mâché project in the whole world. Both siblings,veigar notes are extremely perfectionistic when it comes to their work. True to the blonde yordle’s word, the pain was negligible. As heimerdinger worked on his next wrist he said
“In two weeks, take the bandages off and let my brother know about the progress on them, try not to get them wet,when bathing maybe use a warding spell. Also try not to get into big fights with them either, we don’t want to reopen anything before it’s ready.”
Veigar nodded, happy to know the exact timespan he needed these on for. Schedules are always important in evil business you see. Despite him being lost in the work, veigar can see his soul trembling at what must’ve happened to him. Yordles and demons are pretty close cousins so it’s not that surprising to see people’s fears. What was interesting is that apparently he must’ve struck a cord with the blonde. That deep fear of being used and tortured for results was way more than the professor’s surface fear of veigar’s creepy facade. It was an interesting feeling to say the least but maybe him really working to help him is an attempt to quell it. To show there’s not a state humans can diss out to yordles that they can’t bounce back from but what does he know? Ts is gonna have some fun letters sent to the castle when they get back that’s for sure.
Through his thoughts the bandages on his ankles had been wrapped. If he was anything, heimerdinger sure is efficient he’ll give him that.
“Thank you for the treatment, I guess I’ll be seeing you back here in two weeks, correct?”
“That’s right, um but if anything happens that is strange or out of the ordinary for you please tell my brother right away.”
“Will do.” He said as he opened the door to find ts right next to it with 15 rifled through magazines on the floor. He gave his brother a big old smile since if he had really done something bad the building would’ve been leveled by now.
“Let’s go home sir, we can watch on of those baking shows and paint our claws.”
“That sounds good.” Veigar’s voice trailed off as ts cut a portal out and led him through, giving heimerdinger a small wave goodbye

Orange Blossom Kisses
more domestic fluff because that's all I dream about. Bucky x reader. 1747 words. again, i didn't do any profreading so...happy reading!
Fridays are reserved for baking. Ever since I moved into the compound, I’ve trashed my(Stark’s) kitchen making delicious cakes, pies, pastries, you name it. Each week I try to make something for someone, but I don't tell them it’s for them. Kinda like gift giving. This week, I’ve been pestering Steve about things Bucky may like. I think he knows I’m trying to get recipe ideas out of him, so he’s made it quite difficult.
“Cakes? From the old days? Oooooh, I don’t know. It’s been so long ago. You said yourself I’m an old geezer. My memory isn’t as good as it used to be.”
“What’d ya say? I can’t hear ya. These ears aren’t as good as they used to be.”
“Oh I don’t remember any pie recipes. I was but a wee lad and didn’t pay attention to the kitchen.”
Thankfully, I got Sam to work as my spy in exchange for an apple pie. Steve had told him about the orange blossom cookies Bucky’s mother would make. Usually Steve and Bucky were joined at the hip, but on orange blossom days, Bucky and Becca would stick to their mother’s side. Steve would usually hang around and enjoy the fresh orange smell. I used a couple favors to track down an old fashioned orange blossom cookie recipe. I changed it up to fit Bucky’s description of a good cookie (don’t worry; he can be pretty critical.)
“Damn hothead. The whole building smells like an orange. What are you making?” Tony asked. He funded my Friday
baking extravaganza as long as he got his ‘blueberry stuff.’
“I’m making orange blossom cookies, Tony. Orange. Blossom. The kitchen is sticky, so I couldn't come any closer.”
“The kitchen? The whole thing? How did you manage to get orange juice everywhere?”
“I’m the one baking. What did you expe- oh hey guys. Y’all are back early. What are you doing here so early?”
Steve, Sam, and Bucky shuffled their soaking wet bodies onto the dining room rug. “Rain. Apparently, the weather station is as bad as it was in the 40s.”
Tony switches his concern from the sticky kitchen to the soaked rug, but Bucky steps into the kitchen.
“Whatcha makin, doll?”
“Uh, just some cookies. Go get dried off and you can help me if you want.”
“Sure. I’ll be right back.” Bucky hurries down the hall. His heavy steps down the hall gives Steve enough cover to slip into the kitchen behind me.
“Bucky loves orange blossom cookies. It was one of the only things that could separate us. I know you’re good at guessing, but how did you end up hitting the nail on the head?”
I could only smile. Steve was a smart guy, but he could get pretty boy syndrome sometimes.
“A little red bird happened to mention something to me. A few favors later and I was presented with the finest orange blossom cookie recipe in the Northeast.”
“I see. I guess I should’ve known the master baker could get whatever they want with the promise of a home baked pie or honey butter croissants. I’ll keep that in mind next time you need something. I’ll see you two around.”
With Steve’s departure, Bucky slides right next to me, hip to hip. He’s only wearing some classic grey sweatpants and the tee shirt I embroidered a chibi Bucky onto. His hair is pulled back into a bun, still dripping water onto the nape of his neck. At this distance, I can admire Bucky’s baby blue eyes and his 5 o’clock shadow. Once Bucky got back from Wakanda, he cut his hair short and shaved his beard, but recently, he’s been working towards the white wolf look.
“Alright, doll. Let’s get this show on the road.”
“Oh okay. Uh, I’ve got all the ingredients prepared for baking. Let me check the recipe.” I go to grab the sheet of notebook paper that I scribbled the recipe down on, but Bucky gets to it before I do. He studies the paper hard. His brows scrunch together and his lip between his teeth. His metal arm falls around me and brings us shoulder to shoulder. At this proximity I can tell Bucky spritzed a little cologne on. The refreshing smell of pine and eucalyptus cuts through the overwhelming smell of oranges.
“This recipe is shit. What if I told you I know a better one?”
“Oh um well then I’d say take the lead. I hope I’ve got everything you need.”
“You’re everything I need sugar, but this stuff should be good.”
I can feel the heat rush to my cheeks. “Let's start by making the wet mix and then we’ll slowly add the dry ingredients in.”
Baking with Bucky is a dangerous game. We work well in the kitchen, but Bucky’s hands tend to wander. Resting on my lower back, brushing my thigh, standing close enough that I could feel his warm breath on my neck. By this point, my face is flush enough to cook these cookies, but the cookies are already in the oven. Maybe next time.
“Lookin’ beautiful, dollface. The cookies are looking pretty good too. They gotta rest a bit. We can work on the glaze now.”
Oh god. Things got saucy with the glaze. Not only did Bucky wiggle his eyebrows and point to the glaze in an inappropriate manner, but he was very handsy. We basically recreated that one dirty dancing scene with the kitchenaid. It didn’t help that Tony walked into the kitchen halfway through our romantic mixing. He had quite a lot to say: tinman and hothead, the cold and the hot, opposites attracting. You get the bit.
“Doll, I think this is the best glaze I’ve ever seen. We make quite the pair.”
“I’d have to agree with you there. I wonder what else we could get into.”
I realize what I said too late. His eyes grow wide and his smirk stretches from cheek to cheek. “Is that so, doll? I would love to work with you some more. Cooking dinner, dodgeball, go karts. Maybe some f-”
“Aren’t you supposed to be best friends with Steve? Like two peas in a pod? I wouldn’t want to upset Steve. That just doesn’t seem right. A disrespect to America. America’s ass, you know? A disrespect.”
That shuts him up.
“You look at Steve’s ass?”
“Well, yes. I mean no! I don’t look. I mean it’s a nice butt, you have to agree, but I wouldn’t know since I don’t look. I do not look at Steve’s ass.”
“Oooooo. You look at Steve’s ass. No wonder you zone out during meetings so much. All that cake bouncing around. Is that why you bake? Trying to recreate that dump truck? Do you look at other people’s ass? Do you look at my ass?”
“Bucky! I- I just know a good ass when I see one okay?”
“Well, what about my ass? Whose is better: mine or Sam’s? I know you’ve looked.”
Christ on a cracker this man is gonna kill me. “Bucky, y’all both have nice asses okay. Steve has the ass. You have the thighs. Sam has the pecs. It's as simple as that, okay? Why don’t we invite everyone down to try these cookies”
“Whatever you say, angel.”
Once everyone made it to the kitchen, we fixed everything up nice and served them to the rest of the family. They were an overall hit. Tony loved them because he’s a hardass, but Rhodes would’ve liked them just a bit softer. Thor enjoyed them with milk. Natasha made quite a few comments about how silky smooth the glaze was and how it complimented the cookie perfectly.
Once everyone was served and sent on their way, Bucky and I sat down to try our creation. I set our plates and meet Bucky in the common room. We cuddled up hip to hip and shoulder to shoulder in the common room to enjoy our cookies and begin a movie.
“You know, my mother used to make orange blossom cookies when I was young.” I looked up to Bucky’s face. I could see all the emotions. Pain. Happiness. Nostalgia. “My sister and I would always help her cook them. It was damn near impossible to come by an orange back in the day so sometimes we’d use other citruses. Orange was always the best. There was one time Becca had gotten some flowers from a sailor visiting from down south. The flowers were damn near dead when she brought them home. My pa told her that they would eat the flowers on their journey, so she did what she could to stick the flowers in the glaze and make pretty cookies. I wish I could remember what the flowers were.”
“I’m sorry Buck. I wish I could help.”
“No, no. I should say thank you. Coming in and smelling the orange and you telling me what you were making awoken something in me. At first, I was upset because I never got to make those cookies with my mom and sister again, but I’m glad I go the opportunity to make such sweet memories with you.” My breath was caught in my throat. I could feel the tears in my eyes and could just see the reflection of some in his. “She would’ve loved you. So strong, don’t take any shit, but so soft and gentle. You could keep me straight and make me bake cookies with you. Becca would’ve picked at you a bit to see if you’d hold, but she would’ve made you her sister quicker than I could’ve married you.”
“You want to marry me?”
“Well, doll, I love you. I’d love to spend a future together with you, but I think I should ask you to be my girl first. But I don't want you to feel pressured. Or you might like Steve or Sam or someone else. I don’t know. I don’t want to assume. You-”
I don’t you what came over me, but his lips were so sweet. They were sugary sweet from the cookie glaze, but the tartness of the orange made it refreshing. His lips felt so soft against mine; I never wanted this kiss to end.
“Yes.”
“Yes what?”
“I’ll be your girl. Only if you’ll have me.”
His smile took over his face. His lips were stretched thin and wrinkles fell beside his eyes.
“My girl. My best girl.”

Can you write a story about link having an amputation and amelia supporting him
light
-------------
"Hey," Amelia whispered, smiling as Link opened his eyes, blinking quickly at the sight of the hospital room around him. "Don't try to move too much; your body needs time to rest." He rolled his head to the side to look at her.
"What happened," he muttered, his voice hoarse and tired, and Amelia watched as he attempted to keep his eyes open.
"You were in an accident, and you had to have surgery. You had a splenic bleed that Bailey fixed, you have a concussion, and your leg was trapped when they found you." She rolled the stool towards him and took his hand. "They tried to save your leg, but they had to amputate it."
"What?" His face tensed, and he glanced down. "Who did it?"
"Nico did. He had planned to save your leg, but there was an infection, and saving the leg would've cost your life," she hesitated, breathing slowly and pursing her lips. "It's gonna be hard, but Nico will come in later to talk to you about options for a prosthetic, because the earlier we can get you started on that, the easier the transition will be."
"I know all of this."
"You know it as a doctor, not as a patient." He exhaled quickly and looked away from her. "It's a totally different experience, now. I felt the same way when I had my tumor, but being a patient is so different than being the one giving the information, so you have to listen to him."
"Where's Scout?"
"He's up in daycare. Bailey doesn't want you seeing him just yet, not until you finish the round of antibiotics without any complications." He pulled his hand away from her and brought it up to his face. "Link, what're you feeling?"
"I don't know," he whispered, turning back to face her. His eyes were watery, and Amelia felt her heart sink. "I'm sorry."
"Why?"
"You didn't sign up for this," he shook his head. "I've seen patients and how it affects their family, and you don't deserve that." Amelia reached out for his hand again.
"I signed up for a life with you. When we decided to have a baby, we chose a life together, no matter what that looked like, so don't feel sorry. You would be here if it were me in that bed." He placed his hand in hers. "I know it'll be difficult for all of us, but we'll take it as it comes. Although, you might want to start preparing yourself now for Scout calling you a robot." He laughed softly and cracked a small smile.
"How long until I can get out of this bed? Even just to be wheeled around?"
"Maybe tomorrow; we're just making sure that you don't bleed out for a few hours, so you should get some rest and relax. I'm gonna take Scout to Mer's for the night; it's definitely past his bedtime," she muttered, turning on her phone and glancing at the time. "I'll check with Nico before I leave, and if you need anything, just ask a nurse to call me, okay?"
"Alright." Amelia squeezed his hand and leaned down to place a kiss on his forehead.
"I'll be back soon. I love you."
"Love you too," he responded groggily, closing his eyes as she pulled away. "Goodnight."
----------------
"You're nervous?" Amelia frowned at him as she noticed his fingers drumming against the examination table below him. Link shrugged.
"A little. I'm just more than ready to get a prosthetic and be able to walk without crutches," he said while glancing around the room, one he had visited so many patients in. "Thank you for being here."
"Of course; I wouldn't miss it."
"I know, but for everything over these past weeks. I couldn't have done it without you, and I know it's been a lot." Amelia simply smiled and him and squeezed his hand.
"I told you we'd get through it together. Plus, Scout's been enjoying the extra company at home. I was bringing him home from Mer's yesterday, and he asked me if when you had your robot leg, you would leave him for work again." Link chuckled and looked up at her.
"He definitely gets his clinginess from you." They both turned as the door opened behind them, and a doctor walked through.
"Nice to meet you," he shook Amelia's hand and then Link's, "I'm Dr. Rosenthal. You ready to get a prosthetic?"
----------------
"Okay, baby steps," Amelia muttered, rushing over to pick up the fallen chair. "Take my hand."
"I didn't think it would be this difficult," Link sighed, running his hand across his forehead. "Sorry."
"I'm glad it's a chair on the floor and not you." She stood up and held out her arm. "C'mon, I'll help you." She looked up at him with a smile just to be met with his teary eyes. "Hey, don't be upset. He said it'll take time to get used to it; you're learning to walk with a giant stick where your leg used to be."
"I know, I'm just sick of it," he bit the inside of his mouth and sniffled. "I haven't been able to pick up Scout in weeks; I just wanna hold him and walk around." Amelia sighed and placed her hands under his arms.
"Let me help you, okay? Because the sooner you get comfortable walking, the sooner you can hold Scout." Link nodded slowly and gripped her arms. "We'll go slow, take your time, and just figure it out. Don't step until you're comfortable, and if you feel like you're gonna fall, I've got you."
----------------
"Dadda!" Scout screamed, jumping up from the couch and running towards his father in the doorway. Amelia grinned at them.
"Hey, buddy," Link smiled and ruffled his son's hair.
"Scout, be gentle, remember? Come stand on the couch, and Dadda can give you a hug here," she patted the cushion, and Scout came running, jumping up on the cushion and holding his arms out. Link slowly made his way over and hugged the boy. "Hi," she whispered as Link walked over to her and dropped a kiss on her head. "How was your first day back?"
"Exhausting," Link muttered, dropping down on the loveseat. "But, I got through it. What are you doing?" He gestured to the mess of brown fluff in Amelia's hands. She held it up, and Scout beamed proudly.
"Well, your son found a pair of scissors and wanted to make his teddy bear look like you," she pointed to the hole in the fabric. "But-"
"The teddy's guts got everywhere," Scout frowned.
"So, I'm sewing up the hole so he can have a one-legged bear." Link shook his head in amusement and chuckled softly. "I was thinking pizza for dinner? We can stay in and watch a movie?"
"Sounds good to me," Link pushed himself up and slowly gained his balance. "I'm gonna get in pajamas and grab some blankets, Scout; you wanna help?"
----------------
"How long into the movie did he make it?" Amelia shrugged, glancing down at Scout asleep in her lap, her hand toying with strands of his hair.
"Maybe twenty minutes? He was out quick, and I don't think he's woken up since," she smiled and looked up at Link. "I'll get him to bed."
"Can I try?" She raised her eyebrows.
"If you're comfortable with it, go ahead." Link stood up and walked towards them, leaning down and picking Scout up. "You good?"
"Yeah," Link whispered, taking a slow step. "I'm good." Amelia watched him walk away, the noise of the prosthetic leg sounding with each step. She got up as she heard the door open and tiptoed toward the doorway in time to see Link lowering Scout into his bed, placing a kiss on the boy's forehead, and walking towards her. "You did it," she grinned, taking his hand and leading him to their bedroom. Amelia turned around to see teary eyes.
"Happy tears," he whispered, wrapping his arms around his girlfriend and sighing contently. "These are super happy tears."
"I'm proud of you," she kissed his cheek and pulled back. "A month ago, you were lying in that hospital bed, and I was half-convinced you would never get out of it, and now? Your first day back at work done, and you picked Scout up." He turned and sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Can you help me get this thing off? I'm ready to collapse from exhaustion." Amelia laughed and kneeled down, rolling up his pant leg and taking off his prosthetic. "Thank you."
"Of course," she smiled, rounding the bed and laying next to him. "Thank you for being so brave throughout all of this."
"You're the one who's done everything for me," he held his arm up for her to lay next to him. "I seriously would not have gotten here so quickly if it wasn't for you. Thank you. I love you." She snuggled up to him, resting her head on his chest and looking up at him.
"I love you."

Chapter 27: The Blank Check
While the babies stayed in the medbay in intensive care I decided it was about time that my mother met Tony and Steve, and if that went well, Riley and Pietro too. It had been over six months since that meeting with her and dad, and with the babies all coming now, it wouldn’t be long until I would have the babies around me all the time and the decision of whether I let her meet my children or not would be a decision about whether I kept working to have a mother/daughter relationship with her at all.  It was time to shit or get off the pot.
I invited mom to come up and have morning tea with me.  Steve and Tony would be there too and if that went well FRIDAY could tell one of the others to bring Riley and Pietro down.
I spent that night with Wanda and the babies and after we had breakfast and she fed them I headed up to prepare.  Everyone else had agreed to give us space and had gone to either visit Wanda and the twins or went down to the garden to play with the dogs and Riley and Pietro.  I had the cooks prepare a spread of small cakes and finger sandwiches along with tea and coffee.  When FRIDAY announced that she was coming up in the elevator I got up quickly.
“You both wait here,” I said to Tony and Steve.
Tony looked more nervous than I felt.  I wasn’t sure why I was so nervous.  I’d spent so much time with my mom lately, it wasn’t like being reunited with a stranger.  I guess I just felt like this was it.  Yes, I could cut her out if things turned toxic later, but if I introduced her to Riley and Pietro today, they’d go from having no grandparents to having one and I wouldn’t want to be the one that took that away from them.
“El,” Steve said gently.  “Everything is going to be fine.”
I nodded and went to the elevator.  It opened up just as I got to it and mom stepped out.  She looked even more nervous than I felt.  She had a couple of large gift bags in her hands and she looked around the entryway in awe. It was her first time in the penthouse, so I wasn’t exactly surprised she was impressed by it.  “Elise, honey,” she said, kissing my cheek.  “I heard that Wanda had her babies, so I bought some presents.  And some for Riley and Pietro too.”
“That’s really nice, mom,” I said, leading her inside.  “You didn’t have to do that.”
“I know.  I just…”  She didn’t finish her sentence but I knew what she was going to say.  She really wanted to meet them.
I led her past the stairs and around the corner to the dining table where Tony and Steve were standing.  Tony fidgeted on his feet as Steve stood with his hands behind his back.  “Mom, this is Tony and Steve,” I said.  “Steve, Tony, this is my mom, Jennifer.”
“Yes, of course,” mom said, as Steve stepped forward to shake her hand.  “I know you both.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Jennifer,” Steve said, shaking her hand.
“Please, it’s Jenny,” mom said.
“Jenny,” he said with a nod.  “Take a seat.”
Mom sat down and Steve and I sat near her.  Tony sat a little further away on the other side of me.
“Have I met everyone now?”  Mom asked.
“Yeah, these are the last two,” I said.  “To be brutally honest with you mom, I held back with them because I figured if you were lying to me, these were the two you were using me to get to.”
She frowned and nodded.  The information obviously hurt but she seemed to understand.  “I get it.  I’m glad you’re trusting me more.”
“While we’re all being brutally honest,” Tony said.  “Not all of us wanted you to get involved in her life.”
She nodded again.  “I know.  And I might deserve that,” she said.  “But I am grateful that I was given a chance.  And I know you were involved with setting me up in the city and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to repay you for that.”
“So if I was to offer you a million dollars to leave us alone?”  Tony asked.
Mom looked at him like she’d been hit by a truck.  Her mouth opened and closed like a fish as she tried to grasp the full gravity of what he’d just said.
“I’m completely serious,” Tony said, pulling out his checkbook.  “A million not enough?  Five?  Will five do it?  How about ten?"  He started to scribble out on his checkbook.  "I’ll tell you what Mrs. Cooper, I’ll sign this and write your name right here, and you can fill in exactly the amount you think your daughter is worth.  Because that’s what you wanted right?  For her to marry rich and you and your husband could get your big fat dowry right?  Well, she did just like you wanted.  She got the richest.  If my money isn’t good enough, maybe we can dip into the Asgardian pot.”
Mom looked at me in shock. “Is this what you want, Elise?”
I could feel myself tearing up and I wasn’t sure exactly what factor of what was happening right now was affecting me the most.  Tony’s aggressive overprotectiveness or the fact I was a little worried that my mom would take it.  Over the past few months, the thread that joined me to her had gotten thicker and brighter.  The thought of her ruining all that by picking up the check hurt.
“Of course not,” I said.
“If it’s hurting you, I can leave you alone,” mom said.   “I’ve hurt you enough.  I don’t want the money.  I want you to be okay.”
I started crying and Tony took the blank check and tore it into pieces.  “That’s what I was hoping to hear.”
“Did you have to be so dramatic?”  Steve scolded as he pulled me close and rubbed my back.
“Sorry, honey.  I just wanted you to be sure,” he said.
I shook my head and my mom moved closer and took my hand.  I looked into her eyes and she looked back at me seriously.  “Elise, I am sorry for standing by so passively while your father hurt you the way he did.  For raising you to believe you’d ever done anything to deserve it and that all you could expect in life was more of the same.  I’m sorry it took me so long to accept your sexuality.  If I could go back and change things I would.  But I’m so proud of you.  I’m proud of everything you’ve done.  I might not understand it all, but you have a beautiful family that makes you happy and that is the least you deserve.”
I was weeping openly by the time she was done and launched myself into her arms.  She held me close.  The way I held Riley or Pietro when they were upset.  The way moms are supposed to hold their daughters.  The way I’d wish she’d hold me back when my father would hurt me.  I didn’t feel resentful though.  I felt grateful that after all this, I’d finally become the priority.  I felt grateful that I had a chance to have my mom be my mom.
“FRIDAY?”  I said, keeping my head buried in my mom’s neck.  “Can you…?”
“Of course, Doctor Cooper,” she replied.
“Alright.  How about we eat?”  Steve said, rubbing my back. “Elise had very specific ideas about what morning tea was.”
“Right,” mom said, rubbing my back and letting me gently pull away from her embrace.  “Of course.  So tell me about the new babies.”
“They are precious,” Steve said.  “The tiniest little things.  Our other two were more premature, but they were bigger, I’m sure of it.”
“I don’t think so, Steve,” I giggled.  “You’re just used to the bruiser that Riley has become.”
“Well whatever the case, they are so small they can each fit in the palm of Thor’s hand,” Steve said.
The elevator dinged and a moment later Clint appeared around the corner holding both Riley and Pietro’s hands.  Mom turned in her chair and gasped, her hands flying to her mouth.  “Is this… are they?”
“Mom,” I said, getting up and waving Clint over.  “This is Pietro and Riley.”
She got down on one knee in front of them.  “Hello, little ones, look at you,” she said, touching their faces.  “Oh my goodness, you have your mother’s eyes.”
Riley looked up at Clint.  “Who’s dis?”
“That’s your grandma,” Clint said, as mom started laughing.
“We don’t dot a gwandma,” Pietro said, eyeing his grandmother suspiciously.
“I’ve been away.  I’m so sorry,” she said.  “I’m back now.  I have presents.”
“Pwesents?”  Pietro asked.
“Is dat cake?”  Riley added, pointing at the table.
Mom laughed as Clint helped her back up.  “You come open your presents and have some cake.  I really want to hear all about you both.”
They ran over to the table excitedly and climbed up on the chairs.  Mom picked up the present bags by her chair and looked at me, tears pricking her eyes.  “Thank you, Elise,” she said quietly.
“You’re welcome,” I said.  “If you would like we can go see Rose and Sarah on your way out.”
“I would love that,” she said.  “Thank you.”  She turned back to the kids and gave them the gift bags.  "I wasn’t sure what your favorite things were.  So I hope you like what I got you.  You’ll have to show me the kinds of things you like best though.”
The kids began opening their presents and mom got them each a cupcake and some milk and gave it to them.  I let FRIDAY know the others could come up if they wanted.  Steve wrapped his arm around me as I watched my mom fussing over the kids.  “Is this how you hoped it might be?”  He whispered.
I nodded and turned, cuddling into him.  “Better,” I said.
“Well, sweetheart,” he replied.  “You deserve it.  I hope you know that.”
I nodded, and for once, the trauma of my past didn’t raise its head to tell me otherwise.  This time, I completely believed that I did.

September 8th
7:30 am
Jensen was sitting in the makeup chair clenching his extra strong coffee container to help warm his hands. He’d spent a second, uncomfortable night in his trailer on location as Vancouver was having an unusual cold snap this time of year and with the covid restrictions the director decided that everyone needed to stay on site.
While he wasn’t happy about the weather, missing his own personal heater but at the same time grateful for a brief break from Jared now that they were heading towards the next phase of starting their family.
Jensen jokingly said they needed a code name since they were planning on keeping their plans a secret, even from their families, until the pups were born, playfully suggesting a cartoon from their childhoods.
Of course with Jared’s weird sense of humor, he loved it and started throwing ideas like operation: pound puppies.
“Penny for your thoughts.” Frieda said as she applied a concealer under his eyes to hide the dark smudges from not sleeping well.
“Huh?”
“You asked about my new job and haven’t heard anything I’ve said, wanna talk about it?”
“Sorry, not focusing very well today.”
“Yeah, we’re all feeling out of sorts with this being the last couple days.”
Jensen couldn’t believe he was down to his last two days of filming.
“Too bad this virus messed everything up, it would’ve been a hell of a send off if everybody could have been here.”
Alex and Misha had left right after they’d finished but Jim Beaver was back for the ending. It was only right for Bobby Singer to be there at the end, having been such a pivotal character in the brothers lives.
Frieda continues chatting about random things while finishing his makeup. A PA stuck his head in calling Jensen to the set. He stepped out of the trailer and smiled seeing his Baby sitting near the building being used as the exterior of Harvelle's Roadhouse.

September 12th
“Jen, I’m taking out the bags,” Jared calls out seconds before the apartment's front door shut.
Jensen was doing one last check around the place for any forgotten anything. Satisfied, he walked into the living room containing neatly marked boxes ready to be shipped back to Texas, relieved they had downsized from the big house Jared had years ago.
He stopped to gaze out the picture window when a pair of strong arms wrapped around his waist, molding his back to the muscular chest of his mate, who rested his chin on his shoulder quietly saying, “I’m gonna miss this view.” Jensen hummed in agreement tipping his head back as Jared nuzzled his neck.
“We need to get going if we’re gonna make Seattle by seven,” Jared softly muttered as they’d stood there for a few heartbeats longer before releasing him. They walked to the door and Jensen turned once more to gaze out the window at the view of Vancouver.

September 21st
“This has been a great trip but man, I’ll be glad to be in our own bed tonight.” Jared remarks as they drive past a green highway sign saying Austin 312.
“Can’t wait,” Jensen drowsily says having not slept much the last couple days. They had decided to road trip it back to Texas, stopping at a few places they had wanted to visit for awhile.
Jared somehow managed to finagal, okay so his mind numbing blow job combined with those lethal long fingers that always makes Jensen agree to anything got him a couple extra days in southern Colorado.
Jensen enjoyed the beautiful scenery and hiking in the mountains but hated camping out. Well, it wasn’t technically roughing it the way Jared liked but still.. a frigging yurt in late September?
Oy vay, what he did for love.
The sound of Jared singing along to some classic country song on the radio as he drove finally put Jensen completely out.
***
October 23rd
Turning from the open fridge with a puzzled expression on his face, Jared senses the same vague something he’s felt God knows how many times in the last couple months.
Shutting the door he walked over to the island counter where his husband was seated pushing his unfinished dinner around on his plate.
“Jen, what’s going on? Are you worried about the implantation? Dr. Rodgers said the embryos were healthy and optimistic the surrogate took this first try.”
What Jensen wants to ask, the question that’s plagued him since that day in August choosing their Omega surrogate...how the hell does he phrase it without upsetting Jared?
“Did you choose her because you knew she’d be the one I’d pick?”
Jensen slapped his hand over his mouth, eyes wide, disbelieving he blurted it out.
Jared worked to find a response squeaking an actual squeak before he could get control over his vocals, “That’s what I’ve been sensing!” Gripping the edge of the counter with his big hands, “Are you seriously going there again? I was honest about our interactions when I realized she was the one I knocked down at the clinic and FYI, you weren’t exactly in full control either Alpha!”
Jensen clenched his teeth at being reminded his inner need to be in control at all times slipped.
“I’ve racked my brains trying to figure it out how to ask something like that without upsetting you!” Jensen yells getting up and pacing around the kitchen.
Jared huffed, “So all this time instead of talking to me, you’ve conjured up some..”
“For the last two years I’ve gotten the sense you feel somethings missing, kept telling myself it’s your unfulfilled biology. But ever since you meet that Omega you’ve been.. I can’t explain it and now I’m second guessing our marriage Ja....” his rant abruptly cut off.
Jared’s eyes were glowing red, pinning him with an eerie wolf expression, the intensity disconcerting him. “I chose you, my husband, my soulmate, my everything!“ The words should have been reassuring but Jared’s voice was pitiless, something Jensen's never heard pass from his lips before.
Jared took a deep breath and with normalcy returning said, “I love you Jensen and I thought you understood, for me, in my mind, both of us having pups with the same donor means my offspring won’t be seen as just step relations but will grow up having strong familial ties with JJ, Arrow and Zeppelin.”
Jensen started to speak when a low, reverberating growl from Jared warning him not to interrupt.
“I consciously listened to my inner wolf when it came to choosing the person who is biologically the Om of our children and I,” Jared emphasizes tapping his chest with his long index finger, ”have no regrets but apparently you do.” Taking a deep breath Jared drops a non sequitur, ”The dogs need to be fed,” and walks away.
At the sound of Jared’s SUV leaving Jensen’s legs gave out and he drops to the floor curling up in a fetal position wrapping his arms over his head. Arlo and Koda laid down, one on each side, cocooning him between them.

Thanksgiving
“The kids are in a tryptophan coma,” Jensen announces as he walks in through the kitchen's back door. He had followed Danneel home afterwards helping get JJ and the twins cleaned up and put to bed, “they’ll be out till Monday.”
“Good, cause I’m dead on my feet,” Jared replies yawning while loading the dishwasher. It had been their turn to host the holiday with Danneel, the kids, Clif, Jared’s siblings and their broods.
“I told you to wait and I’d help finish the cleanup when I got back.” Jensen said as Jared started the machine.
“I figured you’d wanna stay awhile and be too tired and I didn’t want to deal with it tomorrow. All that’s left is to put the trash and recycling out, could you grab it?”
“On it,” Jensen picked up the bags walking around the side of the house dropping them into their designated receptacles.
When he came back in Jared was switching off the lights downstairs. They made their way up to the bedroom taking turns in the bath getting ready for bed.
Jensen was sitting with his back against the headboard checking his messages when Jared drops heavily next to him, “I plan on sleeping for the next three days.” He mutters resting his head against Jensen’s shoulder.
“Sounds good to me babe, I’m glad we didn’t schedule anything extra this weekend, be nice to spend some time alone.” He finishes wiggling his eyebrows.
“Hmm, do you remember last year's Thanksgiving?”
Jared closed the kitchen pantries door, pushing Jensen against it seductively lowering his fox slanted eyes huskily whispering, “I’m so fucking horny I need my dick you now.”
“Dude, we’re re in my sisters...“
“..you’ll have to be quiet,” Jared dove in for a deep, dirty kiss, grinding against Jensen until he was begging to be fucked.
“You’re the one who got us busted..oh fuck Jensen..so fucking tight..fuck..not gonna last..then later I get Mac saying it sounded like your dick...”
“Okay..buuut,” Jared tilts his head slowly running his tongue up the column of Jensen’s neck, “you gotta admit,” hand slipping under his sleep shirt, “our sex life,” long fingers tip toe up the smooth, freckled chest, pads teasing his left nipple as Jared nibbles on his earlobe, ”is never boring.”
Jensen groans, dropping his arm, still clinching the phone, tipping his head to expose more of his neck to Jared’s wondrous lips, enjoying the scratch of his short beard.
“I thought you were sleeping the next three days.”
Jared answers by removing his hand and straddling his husband's thick thighs taken the phone placing it on the nightstand and starts nibbling along the other side of Jensen’s sensitive neck, working his way to his slightly raised claim mark flattening his tongue licking the ultra sensitive spot that always drives his Alpha wild.
Jensen slides his hands up Jared’s back finding a grip in his shortened hair, unhappy about how much he’s cut off for Walker, unable to tangle his thick fingers into the soft tresses like he used to.
Finding a purchase he pulls hard making Jared groan at the pleasurable sensation tips his head back till it’s the perfect angle for Jensen to run his tongue across those candy pink lips, teasing them open to grant him access, continues teasing, alternating between caressing Jared’s tongue with his and sucking on his lips.
Moaning, Jared rocks his hips seeking friction, breaks their kissing long enough to work Jensen's sleep shirt off. They end up wrestling a few moments before Jared tosses it as Jensen’s lips attack his more desperately.
Tapping Jared’s thigh, Jensen rolls them kneeling between sleep pant clad legs watching as Jared reaches up gripping the strategically placed bar in their custom made headboard with both hands, his pecs flexing in anticipation of what’s to come.
Not breaking eye contact Jensen bends forward, his lips a hair's breadth from Jared’s, slowly slides backwards hovering, caressing the acres of golden skin beneath him with only his warm breath, pausing to hook his fingers in the pants waistband and pulling them with him as he continues journeying south.
Slowly making his way back north he leaves wet, open mouth kisses along the now naked, extra long, muscular legs he loves, sucking on the insides of both thighs, nipping hard enough to leave marks before arriving at his designated stop.
He hasn’t even touched Jared’s beautiful cock yet it’s fully engorged, resting against his flat stomach vigorously leaking precome. Jensen dips his tongue into his bellybutton lapping up the liquid collecting in it, cause fuck, he’s loves how more sweet than salty Jared’s always tasted.
Hips rolling Jared rubs his cockhead against Jensen’s tongue and he kitten licks the dribbling slit before resting his head on Jared’s lower stomach and wrapping his lips around the velvety head.
Shifting his grip on the bar Jared’s makes nonsensical noises, toes curling at the mixed sensations of his mates silky beard tickling his lower regions while sucking on his cockhead, alternates swirling his tongue over the nerves underneath and teasing his slit sending spikes of pleasure radiating through him.
After all these years Jared’s still amazed at Jensen’s knowledge of his body, his ability to keep him on the edge of not enough for however long he’s in the mood to play.
“..pleease...need to cum...got to..so fucking..uhh..Alpha!”
Raising up on a forearm Jensen starts bobbing up and down his shaft, pausing briefly on each downward pass, working his throat open to take Jared further in until he’s nose deep in dark, trimmed pubic hair. Holding his mate's substantial cock in his throat swallows around him as Jared’s knot inflates, pushing his jaws apart till it’s too much.
Letting the knot slip out from between his plump lips Jensen wraps a hand firmly around it and starts vigorously bobbing drawing out a litany of obscene noises, feels Jared’s balls drawing up and backs off swallowing the warm, thick, spurting liquid.
Leisurely licking until Jared hissed, too sensitive for anymore kisses the tip one last time crawls back up the bed searching for his pillow and face plants on it.
“Dude, you’ve finally sucked out my last brain cell.”
Purring deep in his chest, Jensen gives Jared a self satisfied smirk, who mutters, “wasn’t trying to give you a bigger head.”
Rolling onto his side Jensen displays his turgid cock needing attention, “okay, he’s the bigger head,” Jared concedes reaching down running his fingers over the weeping tip, wetting them with precome spreads it over the shaft firmly fisting Jensen’s pulsing thickness, moving his hand up and down excruciatingly slowly.
“So,” his honeyed voice lowers an octave watching Jensen dissolving into a breathy mess, “how does he want me?”
Jensen opens his mouth to answer when a phone rings. Glaring over his shoulder, “not mine,” he growls. Still stroking him Jared stretches for his, “it’s the clinic..hello? Dr. Rodgers, hey, how are you sir?” He lets go sitting up against the headboard.
Why’s the doctor calling them at such an odd time, on a holiday no less?
Jared's brow wrinkles before he turns to Jensen, eyes sparkling breaks out his wondrous smile making his dimples pop.
“Jensen, she’s pregnant!”
Jared's practically bouncing on their bed like he’s on a massive sugar high discussing what comes next with the doctor. Jensen feels his erection rapidly diminishing, gets up heading into the bath and turns on the shower.
Climbing in he crosses his arms against the far wall, resting his forehead against them closing his eyes as hot water bounces across his broad shoulders.
Jensen knows he should be elated. Jared’s getting the pup (or pups) he’s desired for years and the possibility of being a father himself again. Instead, his heart seized up in conflict.
***
After that god awful argument in October he ended up at Josh’s, who confessed his mate and him were seeing a counselor because they were having marital issues too. Spending the night drinking and reflecting Jensen came home the next morning to a still angry Jared cause he didn’t know where the fuck his husband was all night.
Filling him in about his talk with Josh, Jared seemed somewhat mollified but a few nights later...
Walker star Jared Padalecki arrested near the one year anniversary of Stereotype bar altercation.
· Jared Padalecki was arrested once again in Austin, Texas, early Sunday morning on one count of public intoxication…
When he got released Jared sat Jensen down pleading with him to sit in on his next therapy session, saying they couldn’t keep going on like this, it was tearing him apart.
He wants..no..needs Jensen to completely open up, stop trying to protect him and discuss what’s going on in his head, what he’s really feeling.
Jared’s therapist started off informing both of them he wasn’t a marriage counselor but after a brief conversation with Jared knew the situation was having a detrimental impact on his mental health.
He listened to them separately, then together, about their observations and thoughts on each other’s behaviors came up with a hypothesis:
Since Jared’s last depressive episode, his random thoughts/emotions were feeding more into Jensen’s deep seated insecurities over his mate’s open, flirtatious personality and how he perceives others attraction/interactions to him.
And now Jared’s inner wolf is demonstrating an intense attraction to an Omega, something never encountered before with past preferences in Beta females, with this new dynamic Jensen didn’t know how to handle it.
Jensen opened and closed his mouth several times sputtering before saying this was complete bullshit and stormed out.
***
Lost in thought Jensen didn’t notice his husband stepping into the open shower stall until his considerable frame was blocking the water, Jared’s voice drew him out of his musings.
“I can hear you thinking clear in the other room.”
Cupped Jensen’s face between his large hands he gazed into those spring colored eyes that captured his heart the moment he looked into them years ago, “Hey, no matter what happens next, we’re good.”
***
December 16th
Jared was sitting in his chair chatting with Lindsey and Keegan while the crew was finishing setting up for the next scene when his phone rang. He didn’t recognize the number but excuses himself, stepping away for some privacy answering.
“Hey, everything okay?” Lindsay asked after he hung up, concerned by the visible tension rolling off the big Alpha.
“Umm..I don’t know, I need to make another call...” Jared said, waving the phone, “yeah, let us know if you need anything.” Keegan says and Jared nodded his thanks.
The phone rang three times, “Hey Clif, I need a favor.”
***
December 19th
Clif pulled the SUV into the parking lot, “Are you sure this is the right place?” Jared inquires looking around taking in the old motel located in a very questionable area of Austin.
“This is the name the guy mentioned.” Clif replied, getting out heading for the office. Couple minutes later he climbed back in, “the manager said the laundry out back.” He started the vehicle and drove to the rear of the property.
Clif got out again and knocked on the building's door. An older Hispanic woman answered engaging him in a brief conversation before stepping back inside.
Clif nodded to Jared and as he got out of the vehicle that piquant scent hit him seconds before the door reopened. The person he’d spent days searching for froze in the doorway upon seeing him.
***
December 22nd
Jensen, claiming out of the Uber, grabbed his bag thanking the driver, walked up the front stone pathway relieved to be home from L. A. after a hopefully final costume fitting for his new role as Soldier Boy, this flying back and forth every week for the last couple months had gotten old real quick and he was looking forward to enjoying the holidays at home.
Jared’s parents were coming tomorrow and staying for a few days as was Danneel and their pups. Josh said he was still planning on dropping by a few hours Christmas Day since he and Mac were scheduled to spend most of the holiday with their parents.
Jensen felt that mixture of anger and sadness he got thinking about his parents. He was raised in their church and though he never believed in it, respected their choice.
Too bad they couldn’t reciprocate.
***
Alan and Donna belonged to an ultra conservative church. The foundations of child rearing was to be found in the good book and in the Ackles household-spare the rod, spoil the child-was gospel.
When they were growing up neither parent was the physically or emotionally demonstrative type, only showing their offspring a reserved affection, especially in public.
The saving grace was their Beta nanny who gave them unconditional love, especially Jensen, who was shy as a child already knowing he was different from his siblings. She instilled the confidence in them to discover who they truly were inside and encouraged Jensen to come out before moving to California.
Shortly after graduating he told his family about his bisexuality and his boyfriend was moving to L.A. with him.
Alan and Donna tried to stop him. He was to go to their pastor and confess his transgressions, beg forgiveness for his sins against the church and its teachings, threatening to pull the agreed upon six month financial support while he auditioned for parts before going to college if it didn’t work out.
Jensen refused, packed up, took his boyfriend and left. He got his first break shortly after and quickly learned Hollywood didn’t care what his sexual orientation was as long as he kept it behind closed doors.
His management agency decided early on to promote Jensen as the good guy/boyfriend type. They also set him up on dates to events with many up and coming female artists of the time. He had no problem playing along when he wasn’t actually dating a woman.
His big break came on the CW. After co-starring in a couple series for the network he was offered the chance to be a lead in a new series created by Eric Kripke.
At the audition he met former Gilmore Girls heartthrob, Jared Padalecki, flashing his infectious smile, dimples for days and the most beautiful, incredible color shifting eyes Jensen’s ever seen, he was done for.
Jensen might not have his biological parents in his life anymore but his now in-laws, the complete opposite of the Ackles, helped fill that hole.
It’s easy to see where Jared’s personality comes from. His Om, Sherrie, is overly affectionate, excessively physical and verbal with everyone she considers family, biological or not.
The first time he accompanied Jared home on a holiday break Jensen was literally bowled over by the five foot nothing Omega and instantly became part of her brood.
***
Barley getting the front door open Jensen is hit with the piquant scent of orange blossoms and spices he couldn’t quite place.
Dropping his carry-on bag in the foyer he followed the scent further into the house. Arlo sat up near the large picture windows facing the backyard where he and Koda are napping and gets up coming over to greet him.
“Hey big guy, where’s daddy at?” Jensen asked rubbing around his ears like he liked having thought Jared would still be on set before the holiday break.
He heads towards the kitchen where the scent seems to be coming from, “Babe is that coffee shop back open, what’s it called, has those sweet rolls you're obsessed with..” he abruptly stopped and blinks not believing what was in front of him.
More accurately who was in front of him.
“Babe is in his office and dinner will be ready in twenty.”
“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?”

“Letters to Charlie”
Summary:  A selection of letters from Ron to his brother Charlie, throughout Ron's first four years at Hogwarts. Includes some mild Romione mentions.
Read on FFN.                             Read on AO3.
~~~~~~~~~
[1st October 1991]
Dear Charlie,
How are things at the reserve? You said in your last letter that you’ve been getting a lot more burns than normal; have you asked mum for her recipe on salves?
Anyway, I’m settling in okay at Hogwarts. Really glad I was in Gryffindor; my friend Harry was really worried about it, I think. He’s doing fine, but I wish everyone would stop gawking at him all the time. He’s a good bloke; bit quiet but, considering what his aunt and uncle seem to be like, that’s not surprising.
Also, there’s this girl in our class who’s pretty annoying. She treats everyone like they’re idiots and she’s such a teacher’s pet! Her name’s Hermione Granger, and she’s always butting in whenever me and Harry are chatting. She’s not all bad, but I wish she wouldn’t be so uptight about everything. You’d think that someone with hair that bushy would be a bit more fun-loving, but she’s very straightlaced. But I saw her laughing the other day at a joke I made, so maybe she’s not so serious all the time? She has a cute nice laugh.
Don’t tell the twins I said that, or they’ll never stop going on about it.
Anyway, hope you’re okay and that everyone at the reserve is doing fine,
Love,
Ron
  [12th November 1991]
Dear Charlie,
Glad to hear that that the Common Welsh Green pair are doing okay. Things have gotten pretty weird at Hogwarts; someone (probably Peeves) let a troll into the castle at Halloween! Me and Harry had to rescue Hermione Granger from the troll; she covered for us, so we didn’t get punished. McGonagall even gave us some points for Gryffindor!
Hermione’s alright, I think. Bit intense, but she’s not as stuffy as I thought. I mean, it was kind-of my fault that she ended up getting caught by the troll, so I’m glad she didn’t hold a grudge about it. She’s always asking me about stuff, probably because she’s never grown up in a magical family. You wouldn’t think it if you saw her in class, though; she gets so many questions right and she’s apparently memorised the textbooks! Barmy, I know, but she’s alright.
Speaking of dragons, do you know if there’s any way of getting a baby one out of the country? Hagrid has a baby Norwegian Ridgeback in his house, but it’s dangerous for the baby to stay here.
Love,
Ron
 [16th August 1992]
Dear Charlie,
We managed to rescue Harry from the Dursleys! Mum went mad when we got back, but no harm done. Harry’s aunt and uncle had bars put on his window!  I told mum we had to get him out quick; good thing I noticed he wasn’t responding to my letters. Apparently, a house-elf was trying to stop him going back to Hogwarts; weird, right?
Hermione’s saying that she’s hoping to meet up with us in Diagon Alley; I hope so. It’ll be nice to see her again. Apparently, she’s already done all her homework, but that’s what she’s like. What do you think I should get her for her birthday? I asked Harry, but he suggested one of the textbooks (the poor bloke’s never had to buy any presents for anyone ever). I was thinking maybe some of her favourite long-lasting quills, but I’m not sure. Do you reckon I should get her something more… girly? Her best mates are two blokes, so maybe she’d like something to make it clear that  I we don’t just see her as another boy? What do you think?
I’m looking forward to Hogwarts this year; hopefully, it should be a bit quieter than last year. How’s your summer been going? You mentioned about the Chinese Fireball having fang rot; has that been fixed yet, or is she still having troubles?
Hope all’s good with you,
Love,
Ron
 [6th January 1993]
Dear Charlie,
You’ve probably heard the news already about the attacks happening at Hogwarts. The teachers don’t seem to know who’s doing it. Me, Harry, and Hermione have been trying to figure things out, but we haven’t got any leads lately. We thought it might have been Malfoy, but turns out he’s not doing it (still too happy about the attacks, though, the little git!).
I’m really worried about Hermione, to be honest. The attacks are always against muggle-borns and I’m scared she’s gonna be attacked. Do you know if there’s any creature that can petrify someone? I would ask the defence teacher, but Lockhart can barely tell one end of  his wand from the other. Can’t see why Hermione likes him so much; can’t she see how much of a stupid twerp he is?
Like I said before, I’m really sorry about breaking your old wand. I know you said you don’t mind and you’re just glad I was okay, but still. It keeps making weird bubbles whenever I try and cast any spells. My own fault for breaking it, I guess.
Hope you’re well,
Love,
Ron
 [8th May 1993]
Dear Charlie,
Hermione got attacked. She’s been stuck in the hospital wing ever since.
I’m scared. Harry’s managing to keep his head screwed on straight, but I can’t concentrate in lessons. I keep expecting Hermione to be sat next to me, and whenever I turn to look at her, I remember where she is. All pale and cold, like she’d dead or something.
What do I do, Charlie? How do I help her?
Love,
Ron
 [1st June 1993]
Dear Charlie,
Hermione’s okay! The mandrake stuff finally got given to her, and she’s back to normal! I haven’t smiled this much in months! She gave me and Harry a massive hug each when she turned up in the great hall; me and her couldn’t quite look each-other in the eye afterwards, but I think we both got a bit overwhelmed, you know?
Turns out, this was also because Lucius Malfoy was trying to stop dad’s muggle protection law being passed; people could have died!
Confused as to why none of the teachers bothered to ask Myrtle, since she was a witness to the last time the chamber has been opened, but I guess we’ll never know. Were the teachers like this when you were here?
Anyway, got to go; I insisted that Hermione play some chess with me, since our exams have been cancelled (can you guess which Gryffindor was upset about that?).
Love,
Ron
 [3rd September 1993]
Dear Charlie,
We’re all settling back in at Hogwarts; I’m still using those quills you got me in Egypt (thanks again, by the way). Everyone’s talking about Sirius Black, and Malfoy won’t stop being smug about how he knows something we don’t (arrogant little twerp as always).
Hermione’s cat is a bloody nightmare; he’s spent every evening trying to get at Scabbers, but Hermione won’t hear a word against him! Honestly, I don’t get why she can’t just keep the cat away when I ask her to. But she’s always had this thing about being right about everything, so it’s not unsurprising. I just wish she’d stop acting like it’s normal; Hedwig’s been around for three years, and she’s never attacked Scabbers!
Having said that, the first Hogsmeade visit is something to look forward to. It’s gonna be a bit different because Harry can’t go (his aunt and uncle refused to sign his form), but me and Hermione are going to make sure we take back lots of stuff for him so he doesn’t feel left out.
I am a little nervous about going, though; me and Hermione spend loads of time together, so why would this be any different? Probably nothing. Maybe it’s just because we’re bickering more because of our pets? Yeah, that sounds about right. I’ve already got her birthday present, so hopefully she’s not too angry at me and won’t mind me giving her a present.
Let me know how the Chinese Fireball baby is doing,
Love,
Ron
 [4th January 1994]
Dear Charlie,
Hermione just can’t keep her nose out of things! She reported Harry’s firebolt to McGonagall, and now it’s been confiscated! She says it’s because it could have been sent by Sirius Black. I know that’s a possibility, but she didn’t need to go behind Harry’s back about it!
I swear, this girl is driving me nuts!
Love,
Ron
 [13th February 1994]
Dear Charlie,
Me and Hermione have made things up; she even apologised about Scabbers. She must have been really upset, because she started crying and hugged me! Is it normal to get all flustered when a girl hugs you? Cause it didn’t the same as it did when she hugged me at the end of second year.
You’ve probably heard from Hagrid about Buckbeak being executed. We’re trying to get an appeal plea sorted; it’s mostly me and Hermione doing it, since Harry’s got other stuff to worry about. It’s nice being friends with Hermione again; I hated it when we weren’t speaking. It’s still a bit awkward (we both can’t quite look each other in the eye at times), but that’s probably normal, given what’s happened.
Remember to put that salve mum made on your new scars,
Love,
Ron
 [14th July 1994]
Dear Charlie,
Hope you’re enjoying the summer so far; it’ll be great to see you again, mum’s organising the room situation, so I think you’re sharing with Bill. Can’t wait for the world cup! Do you think Ireland will win against Bulgaria? I’ve been saving my pocket money all summer for it, so I can buy some souvenirs! Are you gonna bring some stories about the dragons when you get here?
Mum’s said I can invite Harry and Hermione over, and they’ll be coming to the world cup with us! It’ll be brilliant to see them again; Harry deserves a break from those horrible people he lives with, and Hermione could do with a break from work in general (she’s already finished all her summer homework, but that’s what she’s like).
It’ll be great to have both of them here for the summer; I hope Hermione doesn’t mind sharing with Ginny, since Gin’s more of a Quidditch-head than Hermione is. Mum keeps on at me to tidy my room before Hermione arrives, but it’s not as if she’s staying in my room, is it?
I did clean up my room a bit, though. Hermione’s a bit funny about mess, and I don’t want her to think I’m a slob.
See you soon,
Love,
Ron
 [30th October 1994]
Dear Charlie,
I’m still angry at mum, dad, and Bill for keeping us in the dark about the Triwizard Tournament; half the other kids from wizarding families knew! Speaking of the Tournament, the students from the other schools have arrived. You won’t believe it but Viktor Krum’s a student at Durmstrang! He’s a bit grouchy looking, but I guess he gets sick of people treating him different all the time. I didn’t know he was eighteen; he looks way older. The Slytherins are trying to cosy up to him, but he’s knows exactly what they’re doing; I saw him telling a few of them off for being unpleasant to the muggle-born first years. So I guess he’s alright.
The students from Beauxbatons are all nice enough but one of the girls has some sort of Veela charm thing. Hermione keeps glaring at me whenever I get caught in it, but it’s hardly my fault, is it? Harry gets affected too, but does she yell at him? No, of course she doesn’t. I swear, Hermione’s been weird ever since the term started; the other week I caught her staring at my hands for no reason. She got all flustered when she saw I’d noticed, and yelled at me to concentrate on my work. I’m worried about her. Did that ever happen between you and your friends at school? Is this something that happens around our age? I know that mum said things start to change after you get into your teenage years.
Speaking of change, I hope I can get some new dress robes before I ever have to wear these ones. Do you think Bill has any old ones he can let me borrow? I don’t get why mum didn’t just remove the lace and change the colour. I was going to ask Hermione to do it, but I don’t want her to think I’m whining. I just wish I could have some decent robes like all the other boys have. I know money’s tight at the moment, but even the twins have got alright-looking robes to wear I’d feel a lot better if I wasn’t stuck wearing rubbishy clothes for once.
Apparently, the tournaments due to start tomorrow evening. Me and Harry did have a think about entering, but it’s probably too high security. Fred and George said they’re gonna enter, because they turn seventeen in April, so they won’t need to use much aging potion. Should be interesting to see whether they succeed. I just hope we get a decent Hogwarts champion; Cedric Diggory’s alright, but half the girls get giggly over him and it’s bloody annoying. Hermione says it’s because he’s a prefect, but she’s a bit funny like that. If I ever end up a prefect, I bet I wouldn’t have girls giggling and getting flustered about me.
Got to go now; Hermione said she wants to go over our Transfiguration homework in the common room.
Love,
Ron
 [25th November 1994]
Dear Charlie,
You should have told me you’d be here for the first task! I know it was secret, but it would have been nice to catch up! Glad the trip over was safe and that the dragons are all okay. That Hungarian Horntail was a nasty piece of work; Harry almost got hit by it!
Speaking of which, me and Harry are best mates again. I’m glad; it was miserable when we weren’t speaking. Funnily enough, he said he didn’t even need an apology; just told me to forget about it. Weird bloke, but it’s great to be friends with him again. Hermione got all teary and told us we were being stupid, but she’s never really understood things like this, so there you go.
Love,
Ron
 [17th December 1994]
Dear Charlie,
Glad to hear the dragons got safely back to Romania with no issues. I almost wish I was there instead; ever since this ball thing got announced, half the school’s gone mad about it. Everyone’s asking everyone to it, and I don’t get it. Why can’t we all just go as friends and have fun? But the boys keep going on about dates, so I said I best go with someone good-looking. Yes, I know it’s dumb, but how else will I get everyone to not laugh at my robes? I even asked McGonagall if I could go in my school ones, but she insisted that I use my official dress robes (although she did look sympathetic while she said it, so I guess she understood where I was coming from).
Flitwick’s doing alterations to people’s robes, but he was so swamped with requests that there isn’t any room for me to get mine changed. I swear, I can’t wait until the ball is done and I won’t have to worry about this stuff anymore.
I’d happily stay behind in Gryffindor Tower with the first, second and third years, but I can’t leave Harry in the lurch. He’s got to be there to open the ball, and it wouldn’t be fair to leave him on his own; the poor bloke isn’t good with crowds, especially since half of the school still gawks at his scar every day.
Hermione doesn’t seem to take much interest in the ball, so maybe she’s also planning on staying behind. She got angry at me when I mentioned about going with a pretty girl, which is understandable (it was a dumb thing to say). Hopefully, she’ll have forgiven me by the time Christmas swings around, and we can just go and have fun at the ball. Just as friends, obviously. Maybe if we’re having a laugh, I won’t have to think about my robes looking so awful.
Love,
Ron
  [27th December 1994]
Dear Charlie,
I swear, if I ever have to go to another ball again, it’ll be too soon! Hermione’s still angry at me about it; which makes sense, since I was a bit of an arse. But, well, she went with Krum! Seriously, he’s eighteen and she’s barely fifteen! Why didn’t any of the teachers think that was creepy? Why was I the only person who got irritated by it? Is it really so bad that I don’t want my friend being pursued by some creepy eighteen-year-old git? I know what the twins are saying about it, but it’s alright for them, isn’t it? They had decent robes and could actually ask a girl without the girl glaring at them like they’d only just realised the girl was a girl! Gits. They don’t get it.
Ginny had a nice time with Neville, at the very least. Neville’s a good bloke, and I’m glad he treated her well. Apparently, she borrowed a dress off a friend for the ball. I wish I was shorter so I could have just borrowed something off Harry; that would have at least made things a bit easier. Then I wouldn’t have already been a bad mood before we even got to the ball.
Seriously, I’m never wearing those robes again. I don’t care what mum says, I’d rather go in my normal school ones that those frilly disasters.
Me and Hermione are being more polite to each other than normal, which is probably for the best. I hate the fact that I got so angry at her, but I’ve learnt now to not act like that again. I mean, considering she got Krum, I don’t think she’ll need to worry about me acting like that again. It wasn’t as if she even said she wanted to go with me, either; how was I supposed to know? I’m not a mind-reader!
Hope your Christmas is going better than mine, and thank you for the burn-proof socks; they’ll come in handy against the Skrewts.
Love,
Ron
 [27th February 1995]
Dear Charlie,
It was nice getting some of the limelight for a while; everyone was asking me about what it was like during the second task. I even had Padma Patil hanging on to my every word about it; I even managed to apologise to her properly for being such a berk at the ball (she was my dance partner, but we didn’t do any dancing). She seemed pretty okay with it.
Fleur Delacour (you remember, the champion who used the calming charm on her dragon in the first task) is being very nice lately; I think she got the impression me and Harry helped saved her sister in the second task. She even gave me a kiss on the cheek after we were all out of the lake! It’s nice to get attention from girls for a change.
Funnily enough, Hermione get glaring at me for the rest of the day. Funny how it’s fine for her to get attention from boys (that creep Krum had her as the person he’d miss the most; they’ve only been to the Yule ball together, the pervy git!), but I can’t do so much as talk to other girls without getting the cold treatment from her. Barmy as ever, but that’s what she’s like.
I think Harry’s really happy about the tournament just having one task left; at this point, I just hope he gets through it with no injuries or anything. Poor bloke’s had another rough year, and I hope he can take it easy after this is all over.
I wonder what I’ll get for my birthday this year. You think Hermione will get me anything? She’s so irritable lately that I wouldn’t be surprised if she just gets me a card and some chocolate frogs. Given what’s happened between us lately, that sounds about as much as I can hope for.
At least we’re still friends, though. I’m not that much of an idiot that I’d stop talking to her over this. I almost lost one friend this year; I don’t want the same thing happening with Hermione.
Love,
Ron
 [29th June 1995]
Dear Charlie,
Harry left the hospital wing a few days ago. Me and Hermione are trying to help him as best we can, but the poor bloke still’s struggling. I’m not surprised, considering what he went through.
Dumbledore’s said that things are already changing. I just hope he knows what to do. But he’s still saying that Harry needs to go back to the Dursleys this summer. I hope we can pick him up as soon as possible; Harry’s relatives are bloody horrible.
After the third task, me and Hermione stayed up in the common room. We’ve both said we’re gonna help Harry with whatever happens in future. She also hugged me before she went to bed. It was different this time. It seemed like neither of us wanted to let go.
Stay safe,
Love,
Ron
We've been friends many years but I've never thought to ask; Top 10 gay OTPs?
1.) Ian & Mickey (Gallavich) - Shameless us
Tumblr media
What can I say about these two that we haven’t already said about them?! They are my absolute all-time favorite couple ever! Gay or straight. They perfectly complement each other, they love each other on a level I feel like I’ve never seen before (and I have watched a lot of tv/movies), they’re like a comedy duo, they support each other, understand each other better than anyone else ever will, they fell in love as kids, they bring out the best in each other, and they’re each other's best friend. I’m a sucker for opposites attract, who are also best friends. Gallavich really fits that bill. I wish they didn’t have to struggle so much to get their happiness, but I’m happy they finally got it. When they got married, it felt like the biggest victory ever! We went through those years of struggle with them, rooted for them, mourned for them when John Wells let Noel go after season 5. So much has tried to keep these two apart, even real-life circumstances tried to keep them apart. The chemistry between these two characters and between Cameron and Noel was so powerful, they were brought back to the show. That kind of thing doesn’t happen very often. When an actor leaves a show, they don’t usually come back as a series regular, let alone two actors who have already left the show. It felt like a miracle! I will never forget getting the news that Noel was coming back from you @luckyshazmrsmonaghansblog I was crying with happiness bc we wanted this for so long and I never believed we would get to see both Cameron and Noel back on the show. Or that they would get their happy ending outside of a jail cell. Especially after Cameron left the show in season 9. With their return we got a wedding, an entire season of them as a married couple, we got to see them dance with each other twice, we got them singing together, we got to see them start a lucrative business together, we got to see them free and happier than we’ve ever seen them before, and we got to see Terry get what he deserved after putting them through hell. We are only halfway through season 11, but I already feel so fulfilled with this extra time with gallavich that we were never supposed to have. JW tried to take that away from us. I will never understand why, but he failed. I am not surprised this is the one I wrote the most about. I can go on and on about gallavich!
2.) David and Patrick - Schitt’s Creek
Tumblr media
This was everything I ever wanted to see onscreen, where there was zero homophobia. The pansexual character didn’t need to have a big coming out or tell everyone in the town of his sexual orientation, except his best friend. The gay character had a coming out with parents who loved and accepted him for who he is and was only upset that he felt he couldn’t tell them sooner. I dreamt of a day where I could see this kind of representation onscreen. The casual treatment of their sexuality was so refreshing and something I’ve been waiting for. There is no darkness or huge struggle they had to overcome to be together or a sad ending for them. They were allowed to be together without the major conflicts most LGBTQ characters have to go through. Once David made the first move Patrick was comfortable allowing himself to fall for David and start a relationship with him. He was so sure of his feelings for David after that first kiss, he never looked back and I loved that. They had such an adorable love story. Truly one I have been waiting to see for so long between two LGBTQ characters. They made me smile every time they were on screen. They are another of my OTPs that are exact opposites who complement each other perfectly. Patrick was welcomed into David’s family and blended in with them so well, even when he and David had very different upbringings. Patrick serenading David with Tina Turner and then Mariah Carey at their wedding is one of the most romantic things I have ever seen!
3.) Holt and Kevin - Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Tumblr media
Captain Holt and Kevin are strange men on their own but together they are the perfect pair. They get each other in a way no one else does. The best part is their adorable fur baby, Cheddar! They seriously make the cutest family! I was so nervous when they went through a rough patch for a while because I didn’t want them to split up. Thankfully, they made it through and are still going strong!
4.) Will and Vince - Will & Grace
Tumblr media
On the show's first run, Will and Vince were in a serious relationship and Vince was Will’s longest relationship on the show. They broke up a few times but were together by the series finale. The two reunite during the funeral of Will's father. There was a time jump on the series finale. Though I didn’t love everything about the last episode, I did love the fact that Will and Vince had been together for 20 years and raised a son together, who was conceived through in vitro fertilization with a surrogate. After the time jump, nearly twenty years later, their son goes to college and meets Grace's daughter, whom he would eventually marry. Though I wasn’t happy with the fact that Will and Grace didn’t stay close over the years, it did allow for their kids to one day meet, fall in love, and get married. I did like that outcome out of the finale. My family and I used to watch the original show, but we refused to accept or watch the 2017 revival because they completely changed everything from the original series finale. The second I found out they were changing everything; I knew I couldn’t watch it. They even wiped the existence of their kids from the first series finale. The revival was an attempt to cash in on the reboot craze and I wasn’t happy about that already, but even more so when they were going to break up one of my OTPs for easy money. Bobby Cannavale, who played Vince, has become even more famous since starring in Will & Grace. So, I already figured he wouldn’t be back for the show as a regular, but I know he did guest star. I won’t accept the revival and to me, Will and Vince stayed together, and their son married Grace’s daughter. THE END!
5.) Albert and Armand - The Birdcage
Tumblr media
Miss Albert and Armand were the earliest gay couple I remember ever watching onscreen when I was eight years old. I have watched this movie more than I can count over the years. It is a family favorite that we quote often. Their son is planning to marry a girl whose father is in politics and is very conservative. They have to hide the fact that he has two gay fathers for one night, but everything goes awry, and comedy ensues. Nathan Lane and Robin Williams give a wonderful performance without resorting to using the stereotypes that are often used on gay characters, especially back then. It’s a classic!
6.) Stefon and Seth - Saturday Night Live
Tumblr media
Okay, hear me out on this one! They’re not the most conventional OTPs on my list, but I really do love them so much! Stefon started doing a correspondent segment on Weekend Update on SNL. The first time Stefon came on, he flirted with Seth Meyers. The second he did I was like ooh they would make a cute couple! Stefon the wild party guy and Seth the serious news anchor. It was a match made in heaven for me. Before Seth Meyers left SNL to do Late Night with Seth Meyers, Bill Hader came back to play Stefon for Seth’s last episode. I didn’t expect what happened next to happen at all! They gave Seth and Stefon the ending that I haven’t even gotten from some actual scripted shows. I never expected Stefon and Seth to have this big ending, but I could not be happier that they did. I’m posting the link to the six-minute skit/ending and I hope it works. It’s worth watching. Though the video says it’s Stefon’s farewell it was really Seth’s farewell episode.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rj-wYWMdWNk
7.) Mr. Simmons and Peter - Hey Arnold!
Tumblr media
Anyone who grew up watching this show already knew that Mr. Simmons, Arnold’s teacher, was probably gay. It was hinted at in the Thanksgiving episode. Arnold and Helga visit Mr. Simmons on Thanksgiving at his house and his family and “friend” Peter are there. Mr. Simmons mother says she didn’t know Peter was coming to dinner and Peter responds with the infamous line “There’s a lot of things you don’t know.” When Mr. Simmons mom tries to get him to take a woman friend to the ballet, he says he loves the ballet and Peter gives him a disapproving look and Mr. Simmons immediately declines. Those were enough hints for us fans to decide Peter was his boyfriend. Years later, the show's creator Craig Bartlett finally confirmed Mr. Simmons is gay and had them together in the 2017 Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie. It was so exciting to finally get the confirmation years later, even though I was already certain of it for many years. I was happy that the cartoon no longer had to settle with vague hints about it.
8.) Callie and Arizona - Grey’s Anatomy
Tumblr media
I was very happy to see a lesbian couple on prime time tv and I really liked both characters. I was excited to root for them but sadly as most couples on this show, their relationship took a turn, and I wasn’t thrilled about it. I was disappointed that it came to an end. By then I was already getting tired of watching the show. It was starting to feel like a chore to watch it every week. I tried to stick it out because I don’t like to give up on shows in the middle of it, but I just couldn’t do it anymore. I’m glad I did though because the shocking events with Derek Shepard, is something I’m glad I wasn’t around for. Anyway, I heard things between Callie and Arizona got even worse, so I was even happier I left when I did.
9.) Sherwin and Jonathan - In a Heartbeat
Tumblr media
This was one of the cutest things I have ever seen! I wish this got the full-length movie treatment instead of a short film. But it was still a step in the right direction for the LGBTQ community. Gay characters in cartoons always bring me such joy and that was the focus of this short. A boy with a crush on another boy with a cute ending. What is not to love?!
10.) Mitch and Cam - Modern Family
Tumblr media
Another show I had to give up on in the middle of the series. The show began to be less funny and more annoying to me. Another reason, that really has nothing to do with the show itself, that used to annoy me was that this show repeatedly beat out Parks and Recreation during award season. Parks and Recreation is a superior show when compared to Modern Family. This show won almost every year for years and it got really annoying especially when the quality of the show started slipping and they kept winning. After a few years, they finally stopped winning all the time. But before all that, I was a fan of Cam and Mitch. They were a great couple who I loved watching on the show. They were the best part of the show most of the time. But sadly, my annoyance of the show no longer being as funny as it used to be, was enough for me to stop watching.
No 5 friendly fighting drabble for Nightmight pls? (Have a great day x)
Send me a number and a ship for a Friendly Fighting drabble
Aw, thanks! I have to say, this is probably my favorite drabble I’ve written for these asks so far. I hope you enjoy!
----------------------------------
To say All Might was nervous to visit Nighteye was a gross understatement. He had seen him briefly right after the Overhaul raid, when the doctors were still unsure if he would survive his injuries. They had exchanged a brief flurry of words, neither sure if it would be their last conversation. All Might mostly remembered the things he wished he would have said to him.
I’m sorry for not listening to you.
I should have never pushed you away.
If I don’t see you after this then I want you to know that I...I’ve always...
The unspoken words swirled in his head as he walked the halls of the hospital, his hands worrying the plastic wrapping on the bouquet of flowers he carried. As he approached Nighteye’s room, he could hear voices. All Might stopped just outside of the open door, listening to the lively conversation inside.
Midoriya and Mirio had made a habit of visiting Nighteye while he was in the hospital. He didn’t have much family and the boys had taken it upon themselves to make sure he had plenty of company while he recovered.
Miro was recounting the events of the cultural festival. “...and then there was a big flash like woosh,” Mirio said, “and Eri-chan was so happy. I had never seen her smile so big! I wish you could have seen it, Sir.”
“I do as well,” Nighteye replied. “From what I’ve heard, the entire performance was quite spectacular.”
“Yes, Midoriya-kun did a great job,” Mirio replied.
“Well, it was mostly thanks to Jiro-chan for organizing the band and writing the music,” Midoriya insisted. “I was barely on stage because they needed my help with the special effects.”
“That part is equally important,” Nighteye said.
Midoriya, uncomfortable with all the praise, changed the subject. “Eri asks about you often, Sir. You should come and visit UA when you feel up to it, I’m sure she would love to see you.”
“I plan on it,” Nighteye replied. “It’s the least I can do to repay you both for all of your visits.”
All Might smiled to himself. He knew Nighteye and Midoriya had gotten off on the wrong foot, but it sounded like that poor first meeting was long forgotten now.
All Might stepped into the room and cleared his throat. The three of them turned to look at him. Midoriya lit up and jumped to his feet. “All Might! You made it!”
“Yes. I apologize for my lateness, I was detained at UA.” Not a total lie, he had been wrapping up some grading, but he was honestly just procrastinating. This would be the first time in many years that he and Nighteye spoke on a one on one basis and what was left of his stomach churned at the prospect of it.
Nighteye’s expression was unreadable as he looked at him from his hospital bed. All Might was aware of his empty sleeve and did his best to not stare.
Mirio jumped to his feet. “You can have my seat All Might. Midoriya-kun and I were just going to go get something to eat, right?”
Midoriya jolted as Mirio’s words sunk in. “Y-yes. We’ll be back later.”
“You don’t have to leave on my account,” All Might began, but Mirio was pushing him into his seat and Midoriya took the bouquet of flowers from his hands and set it in one of the many vases that sat on the window sill. Most of them were already full of flowers sent by Nighteye’s sidekicks and other pros who worked the Overhaul raid with him.
“It’s not on your account,” Mirio said with a grin and he and Midoriya left.
All Might watched them go feeling a little betrayed. He had agreed to this visit because he thought he would have Mirio and Midoriya as a buffer. Now it seems the two of them had conspired to force them to talk alone. All Might turned around and saw Nighteye looking at the flowers he’d brought.
Despite the fact that he had lost quite a bit of weight from his injury and his hair wasn’t as perfectly styled as it usually was, when All Might looked at his profile he felt his breath catch.
Even after all these years, Nighteye was as handsome as ever.
“Sunflowers?” Nighteye asked, his voice low and quiet.
“Yes,” All Might rubbed the back of his head. “They’re still your favorite, right?”
He nodded. “They remind me of you, the way your hair looks when it’s loose...like now…”
All Might felt blood rush to his cheeks. Nighteye was still a romantic. “Young Midoriya says your recovery is going well.”
“Yes. I should be strong enough to be discharged in a week or so. If they don’t have to do another surgery.”
“We’ll have matching scars.”
“I suppose we will.”
They lapsed into awkward silence. It was hard for All Might to find those unsaid words. He had faced down countless villains and disasters and yet in the face of his former sidekick all of his courage left him. That was how it always was with Nighteye. There was something so disarming about him that could reduce even All Might to a trembling mess.
“I’ve been thinking about the future,” Nighteye said at last. He sat back, gazing unseeing at the ceiling. “Eri-chan and Midoriya-kun have changed the future I had seen and now I’m not sure what to do with myself. I didn’t think I would live this long.” He paused for a moment, struggling to find the right words. “I’m not used to being wrong.”
“I never expected to live this long either, so I understand how you feel.” He thought back to their last conversation, in another hospital, many years ago. Their argument that even now still haunts All Might, Nighteye’s words still echoing in his ears whenever he thought of him.
“You said you hated me.”
All Might’s words made Nighteye finally look at him, his brow wrinkling in confusion. “What are you talking about?”
“The last time we spoke, when you tried to warn me of the future you saw...you said you hated me.”
Nighteye frowned. “I did not.”
“I remember--”
“I said I hated how you never listened to me. That’s completely different.” He turned away, looking at the flowers again. “If anyone said ‘I hate you’ it was probably you.”
All Might gaped at him. “I would never--how could I hate you?”
“I broke my promise. You would be justified if you hated me for it.”
“Well, you were always the one to say thoughtless things, so it was definitely you who said it.”
Nighteye’s shoulder shook and for a moment All Might thought he had upset him. Then he noticed how his remaining hand was to his face, trying to stifle the laughter bubbling out of him. It had been so long since he had heard Nighteye laugh.
It was a beautiful sound.
“Why are you laughing?” All Might asked, unsure what he had said that was so amusing.
“This is the dumbest thing we have ever argued about,” Nighteye said with a snort.
All Might found himself laughing as well. He knew Nighteye hated his own laughter, but All Might found it adorable. “I guess it is pretty stupid.”
Nighteye paused in his laughter, clutching his side with a gasp of pain. All Might reached for him. “Are you alright?”
“Fine. It just hurts to laugh.”
“S-sorry.”
“Don’t apologize.” He removed his glasses to wipe the tears from his eyes. “It’s the most I’ve laughed in a long time.”
“I missed your laugh,” All Might admitted. “I’m glad I got to hear it again.”
Nighteye rolled his eyes. “Only you would miss something so terrible.”
“It’s not terrible. I’ve always liked it.”
“That makes one of us.”
Out in the hall, Mirio and Midoriya looked at each other and smiled. Midoriya didn’t think it was ok to eavesdrop like this, but Mirio was worried that Nighteye might get too agitated being left with All Might like this and wanted to be able to step in if things got too heated. Satisfied the risk of that had passed, Mirio gave him a thumbs up and they walked away, leaving the two old pros to continue their talk for a while longer.
41 midari and yuriko please
Of course! This one was a bit challenging for me because I didn’t want it to be something cliché like one of the characters throwing a birthday party or giving them a special gift. Hope you enjoy!
Prompt: “You did all of this for me?”
Thought You Should Know
Midari slammed the door to her shared dorm room, collapsing onto her futon and released a frustrated groan. She fucked up, all because she got caught up in the heat of the moment. And she regretted letting it happen. Seeing the look on Yuriko’s face was all she needed to feel overwhelmed and consumed with guilt and regret.
“Ikishima-san! Thank you for such a fulfilling gamble!” Yumeko Jabami gleamed at her. “I really thought you’d never change, but you proved me wrong. I’m glad you’re finally understanding gambling from my perspective and really gave it your all!”
Midari smirked, patting the raven haired girl’s shoulder. “Yeah, sure. It was fun, Yumeko.”
She had to be careful around Yumeko now, especially since she had tried to forget about her feelings for the gambling addict who she knew would never feel the same. Her feelings toward Yumeko had faded, but they hadn’t completely disappeared yet which was exactly why Midari tried not to feed into this treatment from the crimson-eyed girl. This attention from Yumeko was nothing more than the after rush of the dangerous-high risk gamble the two had just gotten finished with.
Besides, after months and months of talking, she had finally started to date Yuriko. In a way, this was partially her way of moving on from Yumeko. And although she hadn’t admitted it to anyone, not even herself, she was in love with Yuriko. She didn’t want her past feelings for Yumeko to get in between what she and Yuriko already have.
The two rounded a corner, close by to where Midari was supposed to meet Yuriko after the gamble. To Midari’s surprise, Yumeko clung to her arm affectionately. That didn't necessarily raise any suspicion; the younger girl often did that with her friends.
“Huh? What are you doing?” Midari asked monotone, though she was quickly growing nervous.
“I would love to thank you properly, Midari-san,” Yumeko replied calmly. “Will you let me?”
Midari swallowed hard. Yumeko had never called her by her first name before. ‘Relax, bitch. This is all because of the gamble. Nothing more,’ Midari reminded herself.
“Okay, I guess,” Midari said slowly as the two stopped walking.
Without warning, Yumeko placed a gentle hand on Midari’s cheek and pressed her lips against hers. Midari’s eyes widened in disbelief, unsure what to do. She just froze.
Kissing Yumeko was like a dream. Exciting, unexpected; something she involuntarily participated in by allowing it to happen. Yet at the same time, the piercing feeling in her heart was not an enjoyable sensation nor was it from the excitement of kissing Yumeko. She recognized the feeling to immediately be guilt, an emotion she rarely felt. She knew this was wrong. Allowing it to happen in the first place was wrong.
Never once did Midari shut her eyes, which allowed her to catch a glimpse of Yuriko as she walked past them in a hurry. Her expression was pained and upset, tears threatening to fall from her eyes. The damage was done, causing Midari to break free from Yumeko’s grasp, lightly pushing her away. Midari was angry not at Yumeko, but at herself for allowing herself to be kissed by her.
“Why’d you do that?” Midari asked calmly.
In her heart, she was furious and guilty. She wanted nothing more than to run after Yuriko. But Yumeko needed to know the truth about why Midari no longer felt anything toward her first. All the same, Midari needed answers as to why Yumeko kissed her in the first place.
“See it as a token of my appreciation,” Yumeko grinned and leaned forward again. “I can give you more if you wish.”
“No, stop,” Midari denied, placing a hand on her chest to stop her. “I can’t.”
Yumeko backed away with a slightly hurt, but even more confused expression. “I’m sorry? Is… is this not what you’ve been wanting from me?”
It was. It used to be. At one point, Midari would have greedily allowed herself to be consumed by Yumeko’s new-found passion toward her. Now, she honestly wanted nothing to do with it, despite her conflicted emotions.
"You're a pretty damn good kisser, but I'm stopping this here. I'm dating someone right now. And as much of an asshole I can be, I ain't disloyal," Midari stated bluntly.
"Ah, I see," Yumeko commented, smiling in understanding.
The fact that Yumeko didn't even look upset or hurt by being rejected is what confirmed Midari's thoughts. Either way, Yumeko could care less about this it seemed. She meant what she said about the kiss being a token of appreciation. A simple thanks was all this was.
"Yeah," Midari replied. "And the person I'm dating is Yuriko who just saw you kiss me, so I've got some explaining to do."
"Oh, my deepest apologies!" Yumeko exclaimed, dramatically raising a surprised hand to cover her mouth. "I didn't know you and Nishinotouin-san were seeing each other!"
"No one does," Midari huffed. "Next time we gamble, Yumeko, you don't have to thank me."
"I understand," Yumeko nodded and left.
Midari stood in place for a moment, thinking about how she was going to approach Yuriko now. Yuriko saw what happened; it'd be hard to convince her that what happened with Yumeko meant nothing. Even if it was just one kiss, she feared how much damage one little kiss could inflict.
"Fuck, I gotta fix this," Midari muttered under her breath as she walked off.
Midari pinched the bridge of her nose as she played back the memory over and over. Yuriko's expression looked so heartbroken and Midari expected to receive a text message from her any minute now saying that she was cutting ties with her. She didn't know where Yuriko went after she was caught; she had searched for her only to come up empty handed and all of her calls and texts were ignored or unanswered.
The Beautification Officer looked up from the futon when the door to her dorm room opened and Sayaka sluggishly walked in, placing her backpack to the side. Sayaka looked exhausted, but happy, no doubt returning from the President's dorm.
"This is unusual for you, returning to our dorm after a fuck session with the Prez," Midari commented.
"I had to come back to do homework and we were in the student council room, not her dorm. And we weren't just doing that," Sayaka smirked. "We were also snuggling and saying how much we love each other. Kirari even shared her love for me through a poem she wrote."
Usually, Midari would recoil and cringe from such sappy nonsense or relentlessly tease the Secretary for being "such a fucking lesbian". However, hearing Sayaka mention that made Midari think of Yuriko, causing her eyes to tear up.
"That's... that's great, Sayaka," Midari murmured, shifting her position.
Sayaka gave her an odd look before sitting down next to her, leaning her head on her shoulder affectionately. "Something's wrong. You're acting off."
Midari chuckled weakly. She never understood how Sayaka was able to decipher her emotions even if she was fairly good at hiding them. She appreciated her friendship with her and trusted hardly anyone else to know her inner emotions. Sayaka was trustworthy; the two had endured quite a bit with each other, both helping the other out in whatever situation.
"I fucked up," Midari admitted plainly. "I let Yumeko kiss me."
Sayaka sat upright, staring at her friend with wide eyes. "Jabami kissed you? I mean no offense by saying this, but why would she?"
Midari shrugged and slumped down in the futon. "After rush from the gamble maybe? I don't know and I don't care."
"You're sure?" Sayaka asked hesitantly. "I know your feelings for her are... complex. Especially since you're involved with Nishinotouin-san now."
"Yeah, tell me about it," Midari snorted. "I thought I understood Yumeko, but I guess I don't now. And you know what? I regret letting it happen."
"Obviously you didn't enjoy it, right?" Sayaka asked curiously.
"I would have if I still liked her and not Yuriko," Midari grumbled. "But it doesn't matter now. Yuriko saw her kiss me. I don't know what to do really."
"You love her, don't you?" Sayaka questioned in all seriousness.
Midari groaned. "Love is such a stupid emotion. I don't want to love anyone."
"You didn't deny it," Sayaka teased, poking Midari's cheek playfully. "I know love when I see it."
Midari lightly slapped her hand away. Sayaka of all people knew the trials and tribulations love often brought with it. She had been waiting for Kirari to confess to her for three long years after all. Midari wasn't patient or romantic like that. She wanted Yuriko to know the truth about what happened and the truth about how she felt immediately. She just didn't know how to tell her.
"Yeah I know you do," Midari scoffed. "The President practically undresses you with her eyes every time you two are in the same room together."
Sayaka coughed and looked away, blushing. "A-anyway, I suggest you tell her exactly how you feel about her and that the kiss with Jabami meant nothing to you. Write a letter or maybe even buy her a gift as a romantic gesture."
"Pft, I don't do that sappy shit," Midari rolled her eyes. "I'll talk to her tomorrow at school or take her out for tea and talk with her then."
"Yeah, about that," Sayaka muttered. "She's leaving the city for a few days."
"What?" Midari glared at her. "She would have told me that."
"I thought you knew," Sayaka blurted out, and then sighed once she saw Midari shake her head. "She dropped by the student council room just before I left and informed Kirari that she will be taking a leave of absence. It was unexpected and didn't sound like it was planned."
"Fucking hell," Midari growled, standing up. "I know where she's going."
"Where?" Sayaka asked curiously.
"She's gonna go visit the Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto where her family lives," Midari briefly explained. "She always goes there when she's in a dire stressful situation or needs to get away from life here at the academy."
"Kyoto? Isn't that a seven hour journey from here?" Sayaka frowned. "You'll miss school tomorrow."
"Think I give a shit? I can't wait two weeks for her to come back. She needs to know now," Midari huffed, grabbing her bag.
"Good luck. I will inform the President about your absence," Sayaka assured her.
***
After confirming with Yuriko's club members that she did indeed leave to Kyoto, Midari purchased the first train ticket available to get to Kyoto which happened to be at midnight later that night. She didn't care. It was better than nothing. She knew she would arrive a day later than Yuriko, but that didn't matter. She needed to see and talk to her. Since Yuriko was still avoiding her calls and texts, this was the only way to do so.
Yuriko sighed as she knelt down in front of the temple's fountain, focusing on the light ripples on the water's surface to keep her intrusive thoughts at bay. She was heartbroken; there was no easier way of putting it. What she witnessed the day prior was sadly not something she wasn't expecting to eventually happen. She knew Midari had complicated feelings for Yumeko. Yumeko now returned those feelings apparently. Maybe Yuriko was wrong in believing Midari had moved on.
'Why does love have to be so hard? Hurt so much?'  Yuriko thought bitterly. She remembered the look of shock on Midari's face as Yumeko kissed her. She remembered how Midari didn't back away or immediately pushed her off. Regardless of the fact that she didn't see Midari kiss her back, Yumeko was the one to kiss her. Surely Yumeko had finally returned Midari's affection. Why else would she kiss her?
And Midari must have still felt something for the gambling addict. Yuriko knew the one eyed girl considered what was happening, thought about her confused feelings for Yumeko. She didn't instantly push her away and yell at her, saying she no longer felt anything for her and moved on. She allowed it to happen.
Yuriko felt a tear slip down her cheek, raising her arm to wipe it with her kimono's sleeve. Midari had stopped trying to contact her. Yuriko intentionally ignored her calls the day before because she knew if she heard the voice of the girl she loved, she would break down and start to sob. She believed she already lost her heart; she didn't want to lose her dignity along with it.
With a deep inhale and exhale, Yuriko tossed a coin into the fountain. She silently wished that when she woke up the next morning, she would be at Hyakkaou and discover all of this had been just a horrible dream. Before she stood up, she heard someone panting heavily, quickly approaching her.
Turning around, she saw a familiar figure jogging toward her. She blinked in disbelief. Perhaps the sleep deprivation from receiving no sleep the night before had finally gotten to her. There was no way this was Midari running toward her.
"Yuriko!" Midari panted. "Wait hold on a sec, let me breathe. F-fuck I'm outta shape."
Yuriko stared at the panting girl in confusion. Midari looked awful. Her clothes were horribly disheveled and Yuriko recognized them to be her Hyakkaou uniform likely from the day before. She was intensely sweating as if she had just ran ten blocks which Yuriko didn't doubt. But why was she even here? More importantly, how was she here?
"How did you get here?" Yuriko asked softly.
"Oh, well you see, I went through hell and back to find you," Midari wheezed, still breathing heavily.
Yuriko raised a brow at her. "Is that so?"
"After buying a train ticket late last night, I showed up around seven in the morning with no sleep because I was fucking paranoid that I wouldn't actually find you. Then I had to fuck around with an Uber driver because he refused to take me to the shrine because of morning traffic so I had to jog here. It took me a good hour to get to the shrine, not to mention climb up those fucking huge ass stairs," Midari explained, very much still out of breath.
If there was one thing Yuriko learned about Midari was that she was not a selfless person. If it did not benefit her in any way, she wouldn't do it no matter what it was. She rarely considered the feelings of other's unless she truly cared about them. And she was here now with no other motive except to see Yuriko. She wouldn't do that for just anyone.
"You... you did all of this for me?" Yuriko asked slowly. "Why?"
Midari sighed. "Sayaka said I should have bought you something or do something sappy to show my true feelings, but fuck the romancing bullshit. I love you and I thought you should know. This was the only way I could tell you since you've been ignoring my calls and messages."
Yuriko opened her mouth to speak, but she was cut off.
"And yes, I know I deserved that. I fucked up and... and I'm sorry, Yuriko," Midari finished explaining.
Yuriko could see that Midari swallowed her pride to tell her all of this. She meant every word that she said, but Yuriko still had her doubts about one thing in particular.
Yuriko hesitated. "So, you love me? Not Yumeko?"
"Yes," Midari huffed. "Why would I go through all this hell if I didn't? What happened with Yumeko meant nothing. She kissed me, but I no longer love her. I love you."
"I love you too," Yuriko smiled lightly. "And I'm sorry for overreacting."
"No, technically you didn't overreact," Midari shook her head. "If I saw you kissing someone like Yumemi or something without knowing the context, I'd be pretty upset and do something crazy like leave the city for a while too."
"Yumemi?" Yuriko chuckled. "She is perhaps the last person I'd kiss."
Midari shrugged. "I don't know, it was an example."
"Do you know who the first and only person I would kiss is?" Yuriko smiled, walking toward Midari.
Midari smirked and scoffed. "If it ain't me, then I've come a long way for nothing."
Yuriko giggled before pecking Midari's lips. "It is you."
"Yeah? Wanna give me a proper kiss then?" Midari teased.
"Perhaps," Yuriko said slyly walking away. "After you get cleaned up. I'm sure a trip to my family's private onsen would be nice."
Midari caught up with her, wrapping an arm around her waist. "Hm, maybe you should join me. That would make it so much better."
"Don't push your luck," Yuriko warned with a side glance. "But... we'll see. I think I'd like that."
I Thought I Was Your Princess
Princess Kiyoko x F! Reader Genre: Angst CW: None (if you think it needs one lemme know)
You and Kiyoko had been talking for a year, flirting, going on soft little dates like stargazing or walks through her large gardens at her castle. You were no one special, a girl from the local village, no royalty in your blood whatsoever, but that one day sealed your fate to happiness.
You were walking to your mother's flower shop, a basket of flowers in your arms. You were humming a song you'd heard earlier that day playing from one of the radios in the marketplace you had just come from. Not paying any mind to where you were going, you bumped into somebody. You fell back, dropping your basket and hitting your elbow.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry ma'am!" You yelped, getting to your knees and picking up flowers, putting them in your basket. The other girl helped you and you helped her to her feet when you were done. "Once more, I'm very so-" Your eyes widen when you see who you'd bumped into. Princess Kiyoko of the Shimizu family. The people who live in the castle. "P-Princess!" You felt panic rise in your throat.
"Oh, no, please. Don't be so formal." Kiyoko smiled and offered her hand. "I'm Kiyoko. What's your name, good lady?"
 Turning red in the face, you took her hand. "My name is Y/N. Nice to meet you, miss." You bowed, still holding her hand, and she did the same.
 "It's very lovely to meet you, Y/N. Will you walk with me to the florist's shop? I assume that is where you're going. I wanted to get some flowers for my mother and sending someone felt so... Impersonal. You know?"
 "Oh! Yes, yes I do know. It's so nice to see you out in the town, princess. People were starting to think you didn't really exist." You spoke truthfully, not realizing how harsh the words might sound.
 "Ah, yes, well, I've been very busy as of late."
Or your fate to loneliness...
"Kiyoko! Welcome back, princess! Are you here for flowers again? It would be the fourth time you've visited this month. Do you have someone you admire?" You smiled at the princess, wiping your hands on your apron to turn and look at her.
"Oh, no, I actually came for you if you're available. Would you like to walk with me?" The raven-haired lady smiled at you, offering a hand.
"Why thank you, my lady." You took her hand with a smile and walked with her around the store and straight to the castle. Your heart sped up slightly. "Oh dear, I'm not in any trouble, am I?
"Heavens no! I wanted a florist's opinion on my new gardens, and I immediately thought of you. Would you mind so much as to take a look?" She was so kind in her offer, and her voice was so sweet, that you did not say no as you should have. "Wonderful." She smiled at you, your heart beating faster.
Your gaze went to the door as the bell chimed, spirits lifting slightly to see Kiyoko in the door frame. Your smile fell, along with your heart, when two large men (very obviously guards) walked in behind her. She headed towards you, pointing you out slightly towards the guards. "Hello. May I help you?"
"Oh, Kiyoko, the gardens are beautiful!" You sighed, smiling and looking at the masterful arrangements of flowers. There were all types here, flowers you had to search days in the forest for, flowers you would have paid everything you own just to touch and here you were, able to touch them, smell them, walk among them with the beautiful princess at your side. It was perfection.
"I'm so glad you think so!" Kiyoko smiled one genuine and happy smile. It made her even more beautiful. "You can come back any time if you would like." She offered.
"Oh, truly?" You smiled and, forgetting yourself, hugged her. "Thank you so much, my lady! This place is truly beautiful!" You let go of her, red-faced. "I'm sorry, forgive me for stepping out of bounds. I was over-excited." You apologized, bowing.
"Oh, worry not my dear Y/N." She smiled and gently caressed your cheek. "I'm glad that beauty recognizes beauty." Your heart fluttered in your chest at the comment and you felt lightheaded.
"Beauty, my lady?" You questioned, not wanting to move lest her hand remove itself from your cheek. "I'm not quite sure I understand your meaning."
"You, of course. You're a beauty in and of itself. I adore you. That's why I spend so many days in your shop, in truth. To let you pass through my gaze once more." She blushed lightly and put her hand to her other, crossed in front of her. "I apologize for being so forward."
"No, it's alright my lady! You've nothing to apologize for. I-" You swallowed and carefully took her hands in yours. "I've something to admit, myself. I believe I've fallen for you." You confessed, blushing slightly in turn. "I also adore you, and I enjoy our walks. Nature, beauty in and of itself, and you, more beautiful even than the flowers surrounding us. Your hands in mine is one of the feelings I treasure late into the night when I've no company but mine and my thoughts. I wish to know what it would be like to- no, I'm afraid I've gotten ahead of myself with that."
"No, please, continue." Kiyoko urged, searching your face pleadingly.
The guards approached you, a deep-set frown on their faces. "Pardon me, sirs, I'm not sure I understand the situation." You pleaded, raising your hands slightly in defense.
 "You're under arrest for interfering and interrupting royal affairs."  One guard said, grasping your upper left arm in his right hand. His grip was hardly anything, though you knew on instinct that it was a grip you could only dream of escaping. The other gripped your right arm in the same manner.
"I would love to experience your lips on mine, as I'm quite sure it would be as soft as rose petals and as sweet as honey." You finally admitted.
"Well, who am I to deny us the mortal experience of a kiss?" Kiyoko said softly, then pressed her lips to yours and oh were you right. Her lips were soft on yours, sweet with the taste of honey tea and sweets. You held her hands lovingly, closing your eyes into the kiss. It was magical.
"Take her away." Kiyoko's voice was cold, emotionless, dark. You glanced at her and saw the opposite. Her eyes betrayed her yet, ever full of emotion as they were, showing how she still cared, still wanted to be with you and love you as you wanted to love her. How her heart was torn, telling her to leave her mother's decision alone but also saying to rip her lover from the guards and run away with her. Take her to paradise.
"My lady?" You frown as she looked away from you, looking almost angry. The guards pulled you harshly and a yelp tore from your lips.
"I will always love you, Y/N. No matter what." Kiyoko's smooth hands held your hard-worked, rough ones in a loving embrace. "I will forever be yours, as you will forever be mine. Y/N, I want you to promise me that much. To be mine forever?" She reached in the pocket of her skirts and pulled from it a beautiful blue ring. "I picked this out to remind me of your eyes. Now I want to give it to you. Forever."
You gasped, a hand shooting to your mouth. "Kiyoko! Of course!" You let her put the ring on your finger, smiling happily and planting a light kiss on her lips. "I shall forever be yours. A promise from me to you." Her smile made it all so much more worth it. "But, Kiyo, what of your parents?"
"My mother will have to deal with it! For you are my fiance now, my promised one, and I shall lay my life down for you!" Kiyoko smiled, kissing your nose.
The guards put you in a cell, locking the door and leaving. Leaving you alone. You took the ring from your finger and stared at it through blurry eyes, vision marred by tears. How dare she get your hopes up! How dare they do this to you!
The large door opened days later and Kiyoko walked in. Enraged, you threw the ring at her. "What a forever we had!" You yelled, tears spiling down your cheeks. "I feel so loved!" You put poison in your words, all your anger and agression that had built up over the few days you'd been alone. Completely alone.
"Y/N, I understand you're upset but-"
"Upset?! I'm furious, Kiyoko!" You yelled. "You had me arrested and didn't explain, then didn't even think to visit me?! Didn't think that I deserved to know how I had wronged you so?!"
"You aren't the one who messed things up!" Kiyoko interrupted, leaving you speechless. "I was to be married. To Ryunosuke Tanaka. The prince of our neighboring kingdom. It's been planned far longer than we have, my mother chose not to tell me. When I told of you and I, she went wild with her anger and ordered this done. I have spent the past days getting married."
"No." You said softly, covering your mouth.
"Yes. I am married now, no longer Kiyoko Shimizu that you had fallen so for. I am known as Kiyoko Tanaka, princess of two joined kingdoms. Soon to be queen. I'm sorry, Y/N."
"But what of me? Do you not love me?" You begged for an answer, holding the bars. She ignored you, turning her back to you. "Kiyoko?" She began to walk, leaving you. "Kiyoko!" A loud slam and then darkness. She was gone. "KIYOKO!" You screamed yourself hoarse, days upon days of begging to see her, to know, but she refused to come back. Refused, even, to acknowledge your pleas. She was truly gone from your life.
