Fallout Wiki: New Character Images
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Recently, we've been taking new images of the various characters throughout Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas!
Take a look at some of our new images! Many of the old images were taken all the way back in 2011, with many of them requiring updates.
The overall goal is also to have consistency among every image, as well adding to our original content. Here are some of the Fallout: New Vegas ones as well!
While editing wikis is a big group effort, we'd still like to thank @analogbreakdown for spending time taking these photos!

Love how when other companions initiate dialogue they're like "hey there's something I gotta mention" but with Arcade he immediately jumps in to start infodumping about prewar business practices or science facts before he considers saying anything else

Jokingly (very clearly jokingly) made a post on the Fallout subreddit asking why we can’t drive cars in the fallout universe and boy do those people need to eat some grass and get laid

Not sure how many Fallout fans are also into Magic: the Gathering, but god. It's so funny to me that MacCready's card in the Fallout set is the Fallout 3 version of him, especially when you consider there are other Fallout 4 companions who have their own cards. My man did not reach the height requirements to hang out with the grownups. Sad.
(The card is below the cut for anyone interested in seeing it)

“Welcome to the neighborhood!”
Fallout: Caldera is a theoretical post-apocalyptic role-playing fan game inspired by & expanding upon the setting associated with Obsidian Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks. While Caldera is neither a direct sequel nor prequel to any of the games, it references many of the events surrounding the era, including cut or outright canceled content & concepts. While the theoretical game would likely make use of a modified Fallout 4 or Fallout 76 engine, its overall tone & themes would likely be more typical of Fallout: New Vegas or earlier titles. The theoretical game is set primarily in a post-apocalyptic Montana, specifically Yellowstone National Park, a Postgame ‘Add-on’ facility, and The Grand Teton 'Add-on' Area.
Setting
The game takes place in 2256, 179 years after the Great War. The events of Fallout: Caldera occur 154 years after Fallout: 76, 95 years after Fallout 1, 59 years after Fallout: Tactics, 48 years after Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, 15 years after Fallout 2, and 3 years after the canceled Van Buren, which it considers as semi-canon.
This means it is also 21 years before the events of Fallout 3, 25 years before Fallout: New Vegas, and 31 years before Fallout: 4. Chronologically it is the fifth game in the series after Fallout 2 (though sixth if counting Van Buren).
The game takes place in The Caldera, which is composed of the former Grand Loop of Yellowstone National Park. Much of the main game takes place across various ‘Domesticons’ - planned condominium communities reliant on android ‘Securiunits’ to keep them safe & maintained, along with various campground-based shanty communities, ranger stations, and firewatch towers.
Famous local landmarks like the the Grand Prismatic Spring, Old Faithful Inn, and Fort Yellowstone are included in the game world, though Caldera takes a semi-’procedural’ approach akin to earlier games like Fallout 1 & Fallout 2 - with the majority of the actual mapping focusing on points of interest & landmarks while otherwise pulling from a series of random encounter map tiles designed to fit that area, such as Mountain, Forest, Lake, Road, Ect.
Story
The Homemaker, the player character, arrives in Yellowstone to join a new kind of planned community in Madison, a 'Domestic Condominium', or 'Domesticon', created by an expanding medical company called REGENT. After leaving their bus & interacting with various neighbors or protesters, they meet their assigned 'Securispouse' - a cutting-edge comfort & service android.
Although the player can decide both the Homemaker & their Securispouses name, gender, and appearance, they are commonly referred to as 'Mx. Nazerov' & 'Daisy Belle' due to these being the names given as default both in-game & in expanded media. Fallout: Caldera briefly begins on October 23, 2077 (the day of the Great War), showing the player arriving at their new home and interacting with their Securispouse before being rushed inside as the bombs drop. After a series of events, they emerge after the Great War to a largely decrepit Madison Domesticon.
The story of Fallout: Caldera guides the player into its world, discovering a series of different factions with varying ideals & conflicts with others, albeit generally being introduced as paired groups.
These include the grungy and patch-job’d Outskirts, continuingly pushing-and-pulling with the large, pristine, and repressive Stepford Domesticon, whose citizens live in a perfect simulacrum of pre-war americana at cost of their sanity & deepening guilt while their Outskirts neighbors grow increasingly disruptive to their illusionary way of life.
Out in the campgrounds, a group of ghoulified tourists and their descendants now known as Caldera Runners chafe against the rules and regulations still-enforced by the Caldera’s Ranger Corps, having ample reason to utilize what many in the Ranger Corps think should be pristine wilderness and virgin pools.
Then there is the Ranger’s sister group, the Firemen, who have grown their own new brand of social structure thanks to the Caldera-strain Super Mutants withins constant fight against both the natural wildfires of the Caldera, and the arsonist tendencies of the flame-worshiping raider group known as the Char - who speak of great calamity, past sins, and strange visions from their psyker oracles and triad of ‘Sears’.
Meanwhile a group known as the Bison Riders has had the differences amongst their two subfactions come to nearly a head, with the Bison Ranchers summer lives differing so much from the Bison Nomads winter movings that both groups can barely recognize the other as the same. Though the player cannot change their minds on the subject, they might be able to influence their hearts.
All the while, two groups connected-yet-disconnected from the rest of the Caldera are about to be forced to find where they stand, with the strange neolithic Mammoth Men reinventing the wheel when it comes to culture, and the Golden Eagles scouting out if they are fit to be part of everyone's life again properly or not.
Fallout: Caldera has four main endings, one for each reaction to the end event sequence, with variations regarding the choices made involving each of the ten distinct political factions, along with separate ending slides for Recruited Companions.
Add-Ons
REGENTs Crown is a post-game Add-On similar in concept to Fallout 3’s ‘Broken Steel’, split between a winterized post-ending Caldera and the REGENT Headquarters facility, which is designed as a Survival-Exploration-Horror Add-on with puzzle elements.
Broken prototypes & creeping-flesh mutations roam the halls as you descend into the depths of the still-sealed ruins in an attempt to either reactivate or destroy the almost-eldritch AI construct below, guided by a production master-prototype ‘E.V.E.’ Securiunit named Earth.
Grand Teton is a (canonically post-game spring of 2257) anytime playable Add-on intended for high-level characters still in development, featuring new enemies, in-depth environmental hazards, and ambush gameplay.

Look at what I've been working on! It's a list of every single queer characters in Magic the Gathering!
It originally started out as just a list of characters from Magic's lore, both ones with cards and a small list of the named characters who have appeared in the stories but don't have cards. I mostly focused on characters that are unambiguously and canonically queer...so no Xantcha or Karn nor did I include any of the aetherborn. I plan to eventually update the story only characters section with links to whatever online stories they appear in.
But I thought why stop there? I used the Wayback Machine to dig up the old Twitter thread talking about all the queer characters from Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate and screenshot it for posterity. By then, I was on a role, so I continued with the Universes Beyond characters.
For that, I delved into wikis to try and dig up as much as I could, especially for IP I'm not familiar with, like Fallout or Transformers (which I specifically used the IDW continuity for because that's the one I'm familiar with others talking about.) I generally included labels whenever I knew for certain what they were, and did try and double check wiki pages to make sure. The Baldur's Gate characters who can be romanced regardless of gender were labeled pansexual in the D&D section so I used that as the label for romancable Fallout characters that can be romanced by any gender.
Let me know what you think, and if there's a character I missed in any section just let me know so I can update the list! I plan to keep this updated over time as new characters get added.

Leftist Fallout wiki coming soon.
Starting from scratch. I'm not at the helm. We are a small collective of people with extensive experience at both existing wikis.
Having found neither institution suitable for our approach, we aim to cover fan culture in a scholarly way, integrate literary analysis from a socially conscious perspective, and highlight all the beautiful contradictions and misunderstandings that have steered the history of the setting, to tell the story of Fallout like never before.
We hope you'll attend and add your voice to the choir. The legend of Fallout belongs to you.

Say hello to the new and independent Fallout Wiki!
Greetings to all of you lovely wastelanders, mutants and robots alike! We come bearing an important announcement, one which might even pique the curiosity of all you nosy prospectors out there.
We’d like to introduce you to the shiny and brand spanking new, Independent Fallout Wiki.
Tumblr media
Now, I know, you may be asking to yourself, “Wait, there’s already a Fallout Wiki out there! Why’s this one so dang special?”
Well, if you’d bear with me for a moment, I’ll tell you why!
Tumblr media
What is the Independent Fallout Wiki?
Well, the Independent Fallout Wiki is just about as straightforward as it sounds! We all used to be members of another wiki dedicated to Fallout, which is hosted by a company that shall remain nameless. Now, if there’s one thing you should know about this company, it’s that they have very little regard for the community, introducing changes that no one likes, hosting tons of ads and even buying out wiki editors to work for them. We find this (among other things) to be antithetical to our beliefs. We feel that wikis should be in the hands of the community, not a company that refuses to listen to us!
This reached a breaking point earlier this year, along with some events out of our control, which led to the bright idea of forking into independence and starting a new wiki! A wiki that’s truly in the hands of the community. A wiki that is self-hosted and safe from harmful, corporate interests. We don’t have shareholders to please and we don’t answer to anyone. We don’t have ads and we don’t need them, hopefully ever. Content is created by fans, for fans
We are simply wanting to provide the most reliable and accurate source of all things Fallout. We’ve even broke bread with some of the other fantastic independent wikis out there, such as Doom Wiki and Combine Overwiki whom we recommend you check out too!
What kinds of new features are we offering?
We’re glad you asked! As well as offering a trove of accurate, well sourced content about the Fallout franchise (with strict guidelines to ensure the best possible content quality, as all wikis should), we’re offering a new Community space. This will be a place for the community to host all kinds of fan works, such as fanfiction, fan art, creations, roleplaying and tabletop games, pen and paper games, Fallout 76 player CAMPs and, much, much more.
As mentioned before, we have affiliated with many other independent wiki projects, including the Doom Wiki, Combine OverWiki, JoJo’s Bizarre Encyclopedia, StrategyWiki, Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages, and even Halopedia! We’re also proud members of the Gaming Wiki Network, and soon, we’ll even be affiliated with NIWA, the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance. These affiliations will offer mutual aid and support that will help every wiki in the short-term and long-term. We are looking forward to working with them, for we all share the same goals!
How can we help and how can we be apart of the community?
We welcome anyone who wishes to join our community. It doesn’t matter if you’re an editor or reader. We are all fans of Fallout and we encourage you to join our community! If you are a non-editor and are only looking for information about something from the Fallout franchise, click this here link! https://fallout.wiki/wiki/Fallout_Wiki/
If you are interested in becoming an editor and want to fight the good fight to help rewrite content and smashing misinformation and head-canon, click this other here link! https://fallout.wiki/wiki/Special:UserLogin
While you’re there, check out our LGBTQ representation page. It was written by the lovely robot, C0NN1E here on Tumblr!:
https://fallout.wiki/wiki/LGBTQ_representation_in_Fallout
We welcome all members of the LGBTQ+, MOGAI, GSRM, Plural and Otherkin communities with open arms!
Last, but not least, if you’d like to be apart of our wider social community, you can follow us here on Tumblr, on Twitter, check out our Instagram or join our Discord, right here below, right now! We even got a fresh, custom invite link!
https://discord.gg/falloutwiki
https://twitter.com/thefalloutwiki
https://www.instagram.com/thefalloutwiki/
Well, that about wraps up this little segment of ours. We hope you enjoy this project as much as we do. We put a lot of time, effort and care into it and we want to give back to the people that we love the most, the community. Have safe travels out there, and we hope to see you around!
END OF BROADCAST

greatest hits of being on this website for fifteen years
the time the suit guide made its way to r/malefashionadvice and i had strangers in my inbox going "bitch how dare you tell men how to dress"
that lovely [no joke, i enjoyed it] period where people would send me every dodgy fictional older man they could find and ask "is he your type"
the time i doctored up the "watching things for an actor you find hot" wiki page and people spent years trying to guess who it was about. to this day no one's gotten it
the time somebody sent me like half a dozen asks about doing something inappropriate with a breadstick, and my friends begged me to stop replying and indulging them, perhaps because they recognized it was an attention-seeking fetish thing
the time people assumed i had a blood kink [affectionate]
the time i wrote a scene about peeling an orange and people gave me hell [very affectionate]
irritating multiple people just by having OCs
the time i got the copypaste telling me to stop taking the lord's name in vain
everything about saints row fandom
the domino meme that i got my career started through fallout fandom

Fallout is what got me into TES so I feel the need to ask, would you happen to know where I could find quality fallout concept art?
WMerchant01
flickr
I absolutely could. For starters check out the Fallout concept art by Adam Adamowicz here:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/47857688@N08/albums/72157629320774861/
There's over 800 pieces by him here.
Secondly check out the Fallout wiki and search concept art. Wiki archivists have been diligently cataloging concept art for years and one of their best articles is their page for the Art of Fallout 4:
https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/The_Art_of_Fallout_4
You will likely see some pieces by TES Artist Ray Lederer in the page above and you can find a handful of Fallout: New Vegas art cataloged on the Wiki here:

Artwork for a little project some of my friends and I have been working on for our Fallout 76 player town! I’ve been on and off editing the respective wiki pages for it, but here’s my character Abraxas who runs a Cryptozoological Society! I wanted to do a sort of progression over time from time out of the vault onwards.

Disclosure: I'm not familiar with/a player of MtG much at all, so if the answer here is obvious go easy on me.
I was looking at the MtG Wiki page on the Fallout cards earlier, and I noticed that they (along with all other crossover content) are considered non-canon cards. This struck me as kind of strange given that from what I know the premise of MtG involves heavy amounts of wizardly travel across the multiverse anyways, so having crossovers in particular be non-canon feels counterintuitive (in that I'd expect crossovers to be a main draw). But as said, I'm not familiar with the setting, so I assume there's solid reasoning for this?
Basically I'm just wondering what makes crossover planes non-canon as opposed to like, I don't know, forbidden areas beyond the reach of many or something equally handwavey.
Crossover planes are planes within the Magic multiverse, so the Universe Beyond settings aren't part of it.
