No, it's a situation where a Japanese photographer got a set of pretty crap photos and sold them to Backgrid UK. UK paps would never have travelled to Japan at the bidding of Harry's team just to take photos like that, mostly from the back. Photos they can't sell to the papers - because no papers have bought them so far.

If the paps received a tip off from someone spotting H and TR in Japan then it would be a Japanese pap agency. The fact that it's a UK based agency who followed them from the UK. I don't know how Harries can even make excuses for that but I'm sure they'll come up with something ridiculous. It doesn’t really matter how it happened. The important thing is that their team ordered the pap or tipped off the pap, and that it wasn't organic.

I see two different possibilites here;

Harry or TR's team asked Backgrid UK to pap them in a certain setting. They were told where and when. Backgrid UK contacted a Japan based freelance pap to do the job. The pics are credited to Backgrid UK.

A japanese pap (freelancer) or a japanese pap agency were lucky to be tipped of by fans and papped them. They sold their pics to Backgrid UK. No credit, credit goes to Backgrid UK.

I'm pretty sure this was assignment work for the pap and that he didn’t just get lucky. Paps in Japan are rare. Also why would a japanese agency sell it to Backgrid UK instead of going directly to the tabloids? Or why not just sell it to Backgrid, why Backgrid UK? Why no credit to the pap or pap agency that took the pics if it wasn't work on behalf of Backgrid UK?

Regardless, it's way funnier to think about a Backgrid UK pap sitting next to H (and TR possibly) on a private plane from England to Japan to execute a planned pap sitch 😂

Question: When did you 1st know that Meghan Markle and Harry Markle were FRAUDS?

Answer: I was listening to my American talk radio station when I heard a report about an American actress (I didn't recognize the name) dating Prince Harry. I literally laughed outloud. I vividly remember thinking, "oh please! Harry would never seriously date an American actress, this is just another fling. Later came that train wreck engagement interview. I was stunned by their obvious lies. I recall writing a comment on a YouTube channel that was created to question their interview. I wrote, "this is a fraud," and the content creator replied, "yes it is, we just don't know why."

Today I firmly believe that radio spot was PR, purchased by Meghan, to quickly make the relationship go public & appear to be serious.

I've gone through several theories over the past 5 years, and the only theory that makes sense is they agreed to become BUSINESS partners who live in an OPEN sexually fluid marriage.

When they lived in London, someone with inside information wrote, "they don't have a traditional marriage." After relocation to the US, that same contact answered me, "bc they don't have a traditional marriage... they live in separate wings." I just couldn't grasp the meaning of a "non-traditional" BRF marriage.

Watching their robotic performance at the UN settled it for me. It was identical to their robotic hand holding at the royal theatre.

Their robotic love is simply the fruit of a fraudulent marriage. They live separate lives in a scripted marriage.

Meghan's name is on a list of Hollywood celesbians, as a "serial beard" & escort for gay men. BTW Serena's name is on this same list. The popular American couples that Harry admires & desires to emulate are also in open marriages.

Obviously I don't know these people, but Harry and Meghan have NEVER once appeared to be in love with one another, not even during the wedding ceremony. Meghan doesn't seem to like Harry let alone love him. More often than not, she appears to be annoyed and resentful of Harry.

Meghan's first loves are Meghan, fame, and money. Harry loves drugs, sex and alcohol. Meghan will do absolutely anything for money, and she grew up fantasizing about becoming a Princess, like Harry's mother Diana.

Markus and the Mulroneys drilled a hole for Meghan into the locked door to elite associates and global fame. She peeked through the hole and laid a trap for Harry.

Markus ensured that she had access to Harry at the private Soho House Istanbul Grand Opening in April of 2015. Both were in Turkey, along with many of Harry’s Eton friends and UK celebrities. Meghan documented this life changing moment on her Instagram:

During that time, Meghan traveled internationally with friends (Greece, London, NYC) and then used Gina, Violet, Serena & Piers to help stage a public alibi for a FAKE start date to their affair: July 4th, 2016. (In August Meghan wrote on Cory's IG). On her birthday, August 4th, Meghan notified her followers that she planned to go off the grid and travel. The rest is history.

Meghan scripted everything about their "secret affair" for public consumption: the blue bracelets, H & M necklace, spooning bananas, the come & get it photos outside of Soho Farm House, Scooby-Doo online job w/US Weekly, tips to paparazzi Jesal Parshotam, and Meghan's endless merching.

After only 3.5 months, Meghan rushed to publicize and promote a long distance relationship still in the infancy stage. What was the rush? Was it to generate interest in her marketing campaign, or simply to deepen their trauma bond by feeding Harry's "security" paranoia?

Ready or not, over the next 12 months Harry grew a full beard and officially proposed marriage to Meghan.

Today we see Harry PERFORM by wearing a gold wedding band & by holding hands & arms for the cameras, but they even fail to coordinate their attire for important photographs (George's Christening), and they stumble over one another.

The cost of Meghan's clothing is obscene, while her appearance is consistently unseemly. Many husband's look better after marriage, Harry looks far worse. His appearance is sloppy and unkempt. Real husbands and wives care about the appearance of their spouse. All marriages have problems, but these 2 try too hard to sell a relationship that looks empty and devoid of anything substantial. It looks like a requirement in their contract. Real married couples don't need an American wedding band or hand holding to convince the public of their love. They can confidently sit next to one another without PDA because they aren't starving for affection, they don't have anything to prove to the public, and they aren't trying to draw attention to themselves.

We've never seen their children, ever. Just a few strange photos and video footage of a brief, scripted meeting in S Africa where each one holds a cute baby who didn't know any of the adults. Then we saw a sweet brown haired baby boy with a full diaper seated on Meghan's lap for the reading of a complex & inappropriate story. Nothing is ever simple or straightforward with the Harkle family. Everything is smoke & mirrors, an illusion, a lie, a contract with RULES.

They are partners in the business of making money off Harry’s family connections, and providing for the welfare of 2 children who are invisible to the world. Does Harry actually believe he's being guided by his dead mother? Does he think his mother's spirit is in Meghan?

I wish Harry would "come out of the closet," and be honest about himself. There is no reason to pretend. Unfortunately he seems invested in living out this lie with Meghan. Their plan was to "change the world" by working part-time for the BRF (whenever they felt like working), but with full-time benefits. They planned to launch a royal brand and an American royal court. They forgot to consider the worse case scenario: The Queen said "no."

Today, they are also partners in offense and in revenge. Harry's living out this contractual farce with a beard on his face and on his arm.

All the 3 club nights happened with Briana - ergo the *conception* already happened - and we are less than a month from the pregnancy announcement that happened on July 14th.

Some instances happened that alone were ignored or brushed off, but looking back they have been more than just a coincidence.

JUNE 23

Louis was wearing THE FUTURE IS NOW shirt. This is a shirt he wore only two times. Interesting tidbit is that both times some babygate references happened, the same babygate’s that’s only going to be announced a few weeks later.

We can brush it off as a coincidence. Because this is not the first nor the last time for Harry Styles to do something like this.

Not surprisingly Louis Tomlinson wears THE FUTURE IS NOW shirt again and on this concert one of the biggest shading of babygate happened. One that can be hardly brushed off as a coincidence.

For a reason yet unknown someone thought bringing a doll to a One Direction concert was a good idea. Important to mention that normally they have so much shit on stage, and they either kick them away or the bodyguards/security members make sure to get them out of the way just to avoid any accidents on stage. This was the first time they found a doll and publicly acknowledged it. They were between songs and the following conversation happened between Louis and his band mate Liam Payne:

Louis: what’s this baby doing here? Liam: who has thrown their baby on stage!? that is OUTRAGEOUS! Louis: it’s not real!!! Liam: oh no… it’s.. it’s a fake baby guys. Louis: it’s not real… it’s.. not… real… (he’s looking on the ground reciting that) Liam: that is for all those people out there who think that was a real baby…

Why did they call this doll a baby? Why did they focus on this baby being real or not? It’s clearly a plastic doll. Why was it even necessary to confirm that a plastic doll is a plastic doll? What’s going on? This context does not even make sense. And why is Louis Tomlinson wearing this shirt again with the future reference? Why did no one claim they were the ones bringing that baby to the concert? Normally we have fans immediately reacting when their sign/flag/gift was acknowledged by the boys but still no one heard about this doll. Funny that.

Also this video has been reported by a couple of outlets, Daily Mail, E-news, just strategically placing them on babygate articles.

One day before this doll incident Louis was seen at the Glastonbury Festival with Niall and friends. Paparazzi took a lot of pictures but they also caught him holding a girl’s hand. No, this girl was not Briana, this girl is Tamara Bell, a mutual friend of Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Gemma (Harry Styles’ sister) and Louise Teasdale (their stylist).

Articles were written. People magazine broke the news immediately. At 11 PM Paris time when all timezones are awake and scandals are likely to get spread the fastest and most widely.

“The outing was the first time Tomlinson and the founder of Almeida, a luxury lingerie label, have been photographed together.”  - says the People article (x).

Not a single mention of Briana. NONE. So what was this about? This girl is clearly a friend.

So what happened? Why is he holding a girl’s hand when in a month he will be announced to be a happy dad? You will see later that the announcement of the pregnancy will call Briana and Louis good friends who had an oops baby. But that was probably not the original plan.

Several Larrie blogs received anonymous asks from May to June about an upcoming engagement between Briana and Louis. Remember that the pregnancy will be announced only in a couple of weeks. But this single action that he held another woman’s hand and how widely it was reported PREVENTED the engagement story line in babygate.

What other non-famous mum of a celebrity baby is out there on social media doing these things? If you manage to find one (which I don’t think will happen, at all, and certainly not to the extent that Briana has done it), please point to me where that person cries for their privacy and how much harassment they receive. Please.

Did you know that when her name filtered to the media several larries sent her messages WARNING her that she should private her accounts? To her and her mum. I saw the messages, this was way back in May 2015. Do you think she took one single measure? She didn’t. Way back then, she made her instagram public and had like 30K followers in a matter of weeks. And in June, when Louis supposedly flew to be present during the sonograms, she posted a picture of her and Eli the chimp to that same account after Louis’s picture with the chimp had made the rounds in the whole fandom.

Oh, but I forgot this part, we all got anonymous messages telling us about the picture, we got sent the picture, and when we refused to post it or talk about it (because to our knowledge it was private and we don’t do that!) she posted it herself!

We got anonymous messages about her being pregnant when she couldn’t have been further along than nine weeks. Nobody knew about it! Nobody was even thinking about her! Nobody remembered who she was! People were laughing it off like it was super fun! But the messages even said when the baby was going to be born ‘Briana is pregnant, you’ll see in seven months’.

Who could’ve sent those messages if it wasn’t her/her friends/her family??? Who would’ve known??

He bought 6 URLs total, 4 of which are his business domains and the other 2 are Briana’s URLs:

Then, 5 days later, the day after Louis was in LA for some unknown reason for 24 hours, Tammy goes and registers a shit ton of fame-seeking URLs regarding an unborn baby, her various family members and their future business ventures.

Also, please note, you can register these URLs for more than 1 year. You can do it for up to 10 years. But they did these for 1 year.

As you can see one of them is Brianatomlinson.com. This also proves that the Jungwirths hoped for at least an engagement.

It is a simple picture of Louis with Briana’s brother. This picture is not as important as the comments from the Quattrochi’s. Tracy is the aunt of Briana’s and Jamie is the uncle. Look at her comment: *I would only worry about FB not instagram. It’s not like the news is out*.

What this suggests is that Briana’s social media has been wiped and there is a belief within the Larries that this wiping happened in 2014 FALL. We don’t have actual proof of that, so let’s ignore that tidbit.

But even if not in fall, then why would her social media be needed to be deleted? Why would Tracy worry about Briana’s Facebook?

Another story on the pub visit. 1) No wonder the PR twisted the truth to say nobody recognised them. There seems to be nobody in the pub except the protection officers and the staff! “There may be something in the water over here in California's got me feeling like I'm better off alone” I sang. “Maybe it's the way you used me, watered down my love, abused me and you always criticized me on the phone”

Ooh, ah

I turned my head to the right side. I opened my eyes, taking a glimpse of Harry laying down on the lounge chair next to me. He looked glowing through my orange sunglasses and with the sun shining down on him. 

Harry turned on his side, looking back at me. He squinted his eyes, smirking at me.

Would you kill me if I told you that I never wanna speak to you ‘cause when I'm on my own, I feel alive

“Hi” I said to him, smiling.

“Hi” Harry smiled at me. “How’s your sun tan?”

“Going well” I told him. “Got distracted by you though”

Yup, I was spending the day with Harry. Ever since my fight with Ali over the phone, her and I were no longer speaking. Sure, last week I may have missed talking to her during interviews but now, I felt happy that she was out of my life. She and her negative attitude was out of my life and now I could move forward with mine. I finally could spend it with people who made me feel great and wouldn’t rain on my parade, unlike her.

“Who sings this?” Harry asked, changing topics.

“Hey Violet” I told him. “They’re opening for me for my UK leg”

“They are?” Harry asked me. “Even for Wembley?”

“No, no” I shook my head. “After Wembley, they are”

I sat up in the chair. I took my sunglasses off and placed them next to me. I looked to Harry.

“Are you coming to Wembley?” I asked him. “Or are you still going to be here?”

Harry turned his head to me, squinting his eyes at me.

“Of course, I’m coming” Harry smiled at me.

“What kind of friend would I be if I missed your opening show?”

“Worse than Ali” I told him.

Harry raised his eyebrow at me.

“Alright, maybe worse than Ali” I said.

Harry sat up in his chair.

“Listen, I’m only asking because I don’t want to get my hopes up for nothing” I explained. “I know you are probably going to busy with your new album to come – which is absolutely fine by the way, but I don’t-“

“I’m coming, Y/N” Harry said, cutting me off. “Wouldn’t miss it for the world”

I raised my eyebrow at him.

“You’re not coming to Radio City, are you?” I asked him.

Harry looked down, smiling. He looked back up to me.

“I told you before” Harry said. “It’s a maybe”

I rolled my eyes at his answer. I stood up from the chair and walked to the edge of the pool. I sat down on the edge of the pool before jumping in. The water reached up to beneath my breasts. I moved in the water to grab a pool noodle.

“Are you going to talk to Ali?” Harry asked me.

“What do you mean?” I asked him.

I turned to Harry while rested my arms on the noodle.

“I mean,” Harry began to speak, looking at me. “Do you want to talk to her? She’s your best friend”

“Was my best friend” I corrected him. “And why would I talk to her when all she does is bring me down? Besides, I have other friends”

“Which are?” Harry asked, raising his eyebrow at me.

“I have Adam” I said. “I have you, Adrian, Sophia, Isabella, Jie Lin, Lily, Jess, Rosé and Ezra. I have more friends than her”

Harry furrowed his eyebrows at me.

“Y/N. . .I only met half of those people” Harry said.

“Maybe because I didn’t want you to meet the other half” I said to him.

Harry smirked at me. He stood up from the chair and sat down on the edge of the pool, dipping his feet in only. The bottom end of his shorts touched the water for a second.

“Why not?” Harry asked me. “Did Ali meet all of them?”

“Yeah” I answered them. “And you would too if you stuck around in Brooklyn more often with me. All my close friends are in Brooklyn”

Harry grinned at me. I squinted my eyes at him, suspected he had got an idea.

“What are you thinking of?” I asked him.

“Nothing” Harry said, shaking his head. “What are you doing tomorrow?”

I raised my eyebrow at him as he changed topics again.

“Adam’s coming tomorrow” I answered him. “And I also have my photo shoot for Paper Magazine”

Harry smiled at me, in surprise.

“Paper Magazine?” Harry asked me. “Right after doing Vogue? You really are pulling out all the stops you can”

“Just wait until my episode of lip sync battle airs” I teased him. “Performed Gaga’s Paparazzi and had fake blood on me. Kinda liked it though”

Harry leaned back, resting his hands on the concrete.

“Well, I’ll be in the studio” Harry said. “Finishing my album“

“Speaking of your album,” I said. “When is it coming by the way? It’s been like, what, two years?”

“It’s coming” Harry said. “Soon”

“Soon can mean anything, H” I told him. “Is it coming July? August?”

“September” Harry answered me. “September or October”

“After the Grammy deadline?” I asked him. “Are you releasing the single before though?”

“Maybe” Harry said.

I stared at him, raising my eyebrow at him.

“Maybe?” I said. “It’s a yes or no question”

“Yes” Harry said. “Happy?”

I smiled, nodding my head at him.

“Yup” I said. “Can’t wait to hear it.”

“Can’t wait for you to hear it” Harry said. “You’re my most honest critic”

“Probably because I’m your only honest critic” I said to him.

Harry smiled at me.

“Exactly”

“Can you move your head back a bit?” The photographer asked me.

I leaned my head back more on the wall, showing more of my neck.

“Perfect” He said. “Keep the pose. Can you bat your eyes again?”

I blinked, batting my eyes at the camera above me. I softly pulled on the phone’s cord as I puckered my lips. The camera flashed at me.

“Good” He said. “Look to the side and gasp”

I titled my head a little to the side, trying not to hide the side of my face. I parted my lips and pulled more on the cord. The camera flashed at me again.

Despite never doing a provocative photo shoot before, I had to admit it was fun doing one. Not that I never wanted to do a controversial photoshoot before – I definitely wanted to do a crazy photoshoot at several points during my ten year career, it’s just I never had the chance to. Well, I had the chance to but I never took because everyone on my team thought it would clash with my image or at least with my album aesthetic. For example, for my first album, I was seen as the girl next door to everyone. For my second album, I was a music darling and for my last and third album, I was the golden girl. In the last ten years, no one would let me pose in a swimsuit and a leather jacket as a camera shot me. But now, I could.

“Turn your head back to the camera” The photographer said. “But keep the same facial expression”

I turned my head back to the camera. I batted my eyes as shots were taken of me.

No one could tell me what to do now. Ever since I started writing my album, I didn’t care about what others taught of me. All I cared was doing what I loved and what I wanted to put out to the world. No one’s opinion mattered to me anymore. Besides, my paper magazine photoshoot seemed less controversial than my upcoming single. I mean, I was releasing a political song next week. I officially reached my tolerance for anyone else’s thoughts.

“Y/N” Lisa called my name.

I turned my head to the side to see her standing between some producers. I saw my phone was ringing in her hands.

“What?” I asked her.

“It’s Adam” Lisa said. “It’s the third time he’s calling. It seems important”

I sat up and placed the prop phone on the ground.

“It will take a moment” I said to the photographer.

I walked over to Lisa and took my phone from her. I answered it and held it to my ear. I slowly walked away from the set.

“Hey” I said into the phone. “I was in the middle of a photoshoot”

“Yeah, I know” Adam said. “I needed to tell you I can’t come tomorrow”

“What? Why?” I asked him. “Did anything happen?”

“Yeah” Adam said. “AJ has a fever. Alicia and I think it’s better if I stayed here in case he gets worse”

“Okay” I said, nodding. “It’s no problem. Family comes first”

“You’re not mad?” Adam asked me. “You were excited for me to come”

“I was” I said. “But you’re a sad. Your first priority is supposed to be your son. I know that’s going to get in the way of us spending time together sometimes”

“Sometimes it sucks” Adam said.

“But it’s worth it” I said back. “I’ll just see you in New York” 

“Yeah” Adam said. “In New York. I’ll definitely make it up to you”

I blushed.

“I have to get back to the shoot” I said to him. “I’ll call you later”

“Okay” Adam said. “Bye Y/N”

“Bye” I said.

I moved the phone from my ear and ended my phone call with Adam. I looked down at my screen. I unlocked my phone and went to my recent calls. I pressed on Harry’s name. I held my phone back to my ear. I heard some ringing before Harry picked up the call.

“H,” I said. “What are you doing tonight?”

To recap, Louis and Eleanor were photographed by a paparazzi walking their dogs in London on mother’s day. They both look quite gloomy, the bittersweet day and being accosted by strange men with cameras on such a day probably had a lot to do with it

Except this whole “Louis was right outside his house” is not even consistent with what she herself says

Wait... but she’s basing this whole “it’s outside his house and paps wouldn’t wait for him outside his house because he’s absolutely irrelevant” on having passed by once and remembering the pavement is SIMILAR?

She literally says “it can be any road and any pavement with trees behind” and then follows that up with the assumption that it’s “most likely his fake house (remember, 3 million dollar fake house) because they called the paps”

so, this guy right here...riley ignatius parker...will throw hands if you call him anything other than parker. it’s what everyone calls him. you gotta be really special to call him riley and not immediately get decked for it

parker was born to a wealthy family in a small but affluent village called alderley edge in cheshire, england. his family is stupid rich, hails from a long line of architects and business people. he spent his early years sheltered and pampered and homeschooled by tutors and nannies, so his parents never spent much time with him, but that’s okay because he never really got along with his parents anyway.

has an identical twin brother named rian who he never ever talks about mostly because they absolutely DESPISE each other. rian thinks parker is a disgrace to their family name, parker thinks his brother is a sheep who turned out exactly like their parents because he always did whatever they said without question. they haven’t seen each other in ages and for the longest time all their interactions have ended in ( usually physical ) fights anyway.

parker’s always been a HUGE TROUBLEMAKER with a restless nature and desire to ~be free~, so his wealthy, uptight, lowkey shady af parents who are obsessed with the family’s image could never really deal with him and eventually resorted to sending him off to boarding schools all over england, just one after the other bc ofc he kept getting kicked out for one reason or another. 

about the only thing he enjoyed about his childhood and schooling were his music lessons. he was taught to play piano, violin, and even the harp. other things like math and history and science didn’t come easily to him at all, but music? he was great at it, and he’s always loved it. during his teen years while away at boarding school was when he first procured an electric guitar and learned to play. along with that, he also discovered punk music, aka the greatest thing in the entire fucking universe if you ask him. far as music goes, he'd found his calling in his early teenage years, but it would take a while for that to really feel legitimate to parker.

he was basically that rebellious kid in all the movies who wore doc martens with his prim & proper school uniform and carried around a pocket knife and cut class to go smoke while vandalizing school property and would absolutely fuck up some prissy pretty boy’s face just for looking at him the wrong way.

literally the only reason he actually graduated rather than flunking out or getting kicked out of every fancy boarding school in the uk was because his father was able to pull some strings aka bought his very last boarding school a whole new library wing. parker did actually consider running away a few times, but there was a part of him really reaaaaally deep down that actually enjoyed some aspects of school ( though he very strongly believes many education systems across the world need a serious overhaul and blahblahblah don’t ask him unless you want a lecture ). anyway, the moment he was done with school, he did finally skip out on...well, everything and everyone and ditched the country altogether, heading out first to new york city for about two years, then california for the last seven.

he’s been completely independent of his parents since the age of 18 and hasn’t had any access to their money since they cut him off for basically running away from home and since renegade only recently hit it big, he’s probably still a little poor tbh.

and since moving to california he’s been jumping from disgusting apartment to disgusting apartment and from shitty job to shitty job. played in various bands on the side, mostly for fun and even sometimes as a frontman himself, but when he joined renegade about five years ago as the lead guitarist, he immediately knew that this was his place. parker absolutely loves being in the band and wouldn’t trade it for anything at all. that being said, the fame that’s sorta popped in out of nowhere in the past month ( ever since renegade signed with a major record label ) has been...something else. being that he’s from a prominent and wealthy family he’s quite used to attention, but he’s also one of those everyone in hollywood is so fake where’s the real people making real music types and seeing as he has a very very short temper...well, parker’s already got a reputation for being a bad boy and yeah, he actually kind of is. he’s especially not a big fan of the paparazzi and is known to be very rude with them and get into actual physical fights with them he will throw hands with a n y o n e i’m telling you. his most recent run - in with a photographer who wouldn’t leave him alone even after parker told him to fuck off a few times ended in him being charged with assault and battery. long story short, he beat the guy’s face in with his own camera. parker’s...eh about it. he doesn’t really care? if you ask him, the guy should’ve just left alone when he told him to and it’s not like parker hasn’t been to jail before. he’s a vandal, a thief, gets into fights more often than he breathes but hey he usually wins so there’s that

i think that’s all i have for backstory atm though i will update this post if i ever feel it necessary. anyway, onto personality!

nah jk there’s actually a few more things! first off, he’s basically the living breathing personification of the jerk with a heart of gold tv trope. so, he seems like a major jerk most of the time and that’s because he kind of is. especially around hollywood people, he’s standoffish and snide and just all - around has a bad attitude. he’s very short tempered and impulsive af, but underneath all of that he’s actually an observant and caring person. like, he’s not very book smart but he’s good at reading people and WOW DOES HE FEEL EVERYTHING SO DEEPLY. he’s a ridiculously passionate person. he feels everything all the time. every emotion is felt in extremes and the one that’s usually most prominent? ANGER.

see, parker is just a very angry person because he’s seen the way things are in the world. he’s lived a life of wealth and unimaginable opulence, but then he’s also been so poor that he’s slept beside dumpsters in alleyways. there are so many people out there who need healing in so many ways and he’s seen it for himself so he knows it’s true. yet, nobody really seems to wanna help. so many people seem to be involved in activism for show or for good person points and he just he HATES it. he constantly wants to scream about all of the unfair things going on in the world and how much he wants to just make them better because he is actually a rather compassionate person when someone is in need.

like, he’s the type of guy who says thank you to waiters and janitors and average, working class people — though i imagine anyone who doesn’t know him very well would be surprised by that.

Everyone in New York has a story about a close-call with a celebrity. In a city that's home to one million millionaires and almost 80 billionaires, a run-in with the rich and famous is bound to happen eventually. I don't frequent the right ticketed sex parties and don't have the foresight to book tables 10 months in advance, so this is a rare occasion for me. But one time, I showed up to an indie zine fair allegedly 10 minutes after Jeff Bezos, his body-double, and a bodyguard detail, left.

My only regret in my entire six years as a Brooklyn resident is not leaving my apartment for this event even 11 minutes earlier. Not because I need to get a glimpse of that shiny head perusing anti-capitalist art, but to get a peekie-see at his feetsies.

Months later, I found myself standing at the entrance of the Liberty Ferry in Battery Park on a 30-degree day, gazing at a spot where Bezos walked last spring, closely examining the stones where his shoes once tread. How big were those shoes, I would ask myself on this unholy pilgrimage.

To the general public, the size of Bezos' feet is a mystery no one seems to have the answer to except the man himself. I sought to discover it.

THE CURRENT CLAIMS

There are dozens of websites devoted to celebrities' bodily measurements, including statistics about their height, weight, eye color, age, and astrological signs. Most of these sites include an entry for Bezos and on average, they agree on the basics: He's five feet, seven inches tall, weighs around 154lbs, is 57 years old, and has brown eyes.

Some sites go further than others, but most conflict on the feet. Several attempts have been made to try to guess the size of his feet. Gossipgist.com says they're a 14, a size so large and uncommon, most shoe size charts don't list it, and that sometimes require a special order. Celebrityboss.com says 10. Celebrityinside.com cites his "distinctive features" as being his cleft chin, asymmetrical eyes (the right one is always a little bit more closed than the left), and his "style of laughing." This last note is haunting, but it's not what I'm here for.

WikiFeet Men—"the collaborative celebrity feet website"—also lists Bezos' foot size as "unknown." And if the good folks of wikiFeet don't know, it's safe to say that no one really knows the truth, except the man himself.

In 2004, Amazon's top reviewer Joanna Daneman crossed paths with Bezos at an Amazon-sponsored event, and noticed that "he has really large feet." So large that, six years later, these flippers stand out in her memory. Then again, she also characterizes him as "really tall," which he objectively is not.

He is 5'7. His feet can't be that huge.

There's scant data available on any sort of foot-to-height average, but anthropometric data from the University of Rhode Island cites an average ratio of 6.6:1—for every 6.6 inches of height, average males have one inch of foot length. For Jeff's 67 inches, we could assume his feet are 10.15 inches long, approximately a size 8.5. But Bezos, one of the richest and arguably most powerful men to ever flap his footsie-wootsies across this humble planet, is no average man. Perhaps his body defies norms as well.

My working hypothesis at this point is that as a short-to-average height man, and a billionaire, he carries himself as if he's a much taller dude, but maybe his feet are disproportionately large compared to the rest of him, making them seem enormous in photos and eyewitness accounts.

We have to confirm via forensic photo analysis.

EXHIBIT A: THE SHOE THAT FITS

Bezos' wikiFeet entry contains a handful of paparazzi photos, mostly of him barefoot or in sandals on vacation. In some, his feet seem very large. In other photos, the perspective changes, and his feet seem impossibly petite.

One thing is for certain: the man fills out a pair of strappy sandals. I thought these were Birkenstocks, due to their iconic two-strap slide design, so I emailed a handful of Bezos feet pics to the Birkenstock company, hoping for some enlightenment.

A spokesperson replied within 20 minutes: "Hey Sam, they are not Birkenstock."

I asked Zappos, which is owned by Amazon and therefore Bezos, if it could help ID the size or shoe. A spokesperson there, while apologetic, was unable to give me any information.

But the UK tabloid Daily Mail had the answer all along: They're a $531 pair of Prada slides. Reinvigorated with hatred for the rich, I turned to the foot fetishists of Reddit.

I messaged the mods of r/CelebrityFeet, a forum devoted to celebrity feet, my very earnest request for help. Do they know anything about these elusive sweeties? If they do, they aren't telling. I was promptly silenced for even asking:

When I asked a mod for r/jeffbezos if they knew anything about their #1 guy's feet, they told me to "learn to code." On to the next.

I messaged u/jokes_on_you, who helped me debunk the faked Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez foot pic last year, if he'd be willing to lend his trained eyes to the investigation of Bezos' feet. He asked me to send my own foot pics in exchange for information, which in a non-journalistic context might be a fair price to ask. But according to Motherboard editor-in-chief Jason Koebler, trading quid-pro-quo foot pics with a source would "set bad precedent."

Fine.

EXHIBIT B: THE SUPERYACHT TENDER

In the wikiFeet photos, Bezos strolled his $531 Pradas through a December 2019 vacation, set aboard fellow bald billionaire David Geffen's yacht in St. Barth's. This big boat, I learned, is named the Rising Sun, and is manufactured by ship builder and navy contractor Lürssen, which also manufactures naval ships armed for warfare.

(The photos, it turns out, are owned by a firm called The Mega Agency. We know this because we bought one of these photos from the company for the very reasonable price of $250.)

Rising Sun is a 453-foot long superyacht, and has capacity for at least one "tender," the name for the little day-excursion sized boats that come with ships that big. One of the wikiFeet photos from the St. Barth's trip is a group picture on a tender, seemingly exploring some sea cave, with Bezos front and center, barefoot.

His feet look humongous in this photo. Most usefully for our investigation, his left foot is placed right next to a straight line of paint on the floor. If we knew the square footage of the floor area of this tender, we could potentially deduce the length of this piece of floor paint—and therefore, the foot.

I emailed Lürssen, maker of $200 million yachts and war vessels, and definitely did not mention any feet. But they still wouldn't give me anything helpful.

"We do not comment on our yachts (or their tenders) to the press as a matter of confidentiality," Timothy Hamilton, director of Lürssen Americas, replied. "Best of luck with your article; it sounds interesting!"

Timothy, you have no idea.

EXHIBIT C: CLINTON CASTLE FLAGSTONES

At this point, powerless and frustrated at our inability to learn a simple fact about a multi-billionaire whose unprecedented empire is in part fueled by the wholesale and dangerous collection of data on millions of innocent civilians, we reached out to a true professional for help.

Motherboard managing editor Emanuel Maiberg contacted Eastern Europe/Eurasia lead researcher and trainer Aric Toler at Bellingcat, the award-winning open source investigations team that previously used images posted to social media to discover key information about the downing of flight MH17 in Ukraine and unmask Russian government assassins.

Toler generously agreed to aid our investigation. We were heartened to hear from him that we were on the right track. "If anyone can figure it out, it's wikiFeet," he said, before we explained that it was not responding. Then he, too, suggested we find a photo of Bezos' feet next to an object we can measure. But while we were fixated on the photo of the Big Foot on the superyacht tender, Toler provided this crucial image of a Bezos photo opp in Battery Park. More specifically, according to the Getty Images caption, "Statue Cruises Terminal in Battery Park in New York."

Here, again, we have more straight lines next to his feet, in the form of large, identical flagstones. This we could work with; if we could get down there and measure the stones, we could theoretically calculate a rough foot length.

Before I headed out to wander Battery Park on a very cold February afternoon, Koebler, Maiberg, and I did some Google Street View exploring to find the exact location the photo was taken.

In the Getty photo, everything in the background is slightly compressed—a result of using a telephoto lens, as photojournalists capturing Bezos often use. But I had my landmarks: a distinctive bush, some columns, this gray monument building, and Castle Clinton.

With the coordinates dialed in (40°42'11.7"N 74°00'59.4"W) I headed to Manhattan's southernmost tip to walk in Bezos' footsteps. As I got closer to the spot we'd seen in photos, I saw the flagstones.

I moved slightly out of view of a park ranger and got to work taking measurements. Each stone is about 55 inches by 52.5 inches.

I sent this data back to Maiberg's forensic photo lab (Microsoft Paint) and he set to work:

If a little more than four and a half of Bezos' shoes fit in one of these stones lengthwise, that's around 11.9 inches of shoe.

If you account for the shoe being a little bit bigger than the foot inside, and reference various shoe and foot size charts, one can assume his feet are around 11 inches long.

These measurements are obviously not accurate to the nanometer, but even by the widest margin, the length of Bezos' shoe is between 10 to 12 inches long. It is likely somewhere closer to the middle of those two extremes, and while we don't know for sure, we are confident that his feet are not notably large, and certainly not a daunting size 14.

At least in this respect, Bezos is just an average man.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

If I'm being honest with myself, I don't feel better with this information. Maybe some things should remain mysterious.

Throughout this investigation, however, when I ranted and raved in dark hours to friends and loved ones about my week-long quest, several people asked, "Why?"

The pursuit of knowledge is always worthwhile. If the tagline of the newspaper Bezos himself purchased is to be believed, "Democracy Dies in Darkness." Information wants to be free. Etc. The feet of a billionaire should be no less subject to scrutiny than, say, the feet of a congresswoman. When the boot is on your neck, measure it.

Amazon did not respond to a request for comment on the size of Jeff Bezos' feet.

Cable Drift in Kenya (a report on chasing cheap electronics)

In January and February 2017, we visited Nairobi to present the outcomes of the Bodies of Planned Obsolescence workshops we did in Nigeria, Hong Kong and the UK in 2015. In addition to showing our previous work, we visited electronics retail sites in Nairobi and elsewhere in Kenya to buy a collection of new USB cables as part of an exploration for a new direction within the project. The group of participants included Catherine Chapman (journalist), Chris Williams (international relations scholar), Greenman Muleh Mbilleh (artist), Joan Otieno (artist), Dani Ploeger (artist), Brigitte Mutengwa (anthropologist), Hannah Whittaker (project coordinator), and Alexia Manzano (photographer).

Until this latest journey, the project’s engagement with e-waste had mainly focused on the export of – often still working – second-hand devices from the Global North to the Global South. These devices usually remain technically functional for many years after the original owner discarded them. After having been used by their new owners for a period of time, these devices then eventually end up on e-waste dumps. It is these devices that we engaged with in our workshops in Lagos and Hong Kong.

However, already during our stay in Lagos in early 2015, we became aware of a development in global electronics consumption that has thus far hardly been addressed. After I lost my smartphone in a car robbery, I went out to buy a basic replacement phone (see the blogpost below). To my surprise, a brand-new Nokia brick phone, directly imported from East-Asia, was much cheaper than a similar secondhand model imported from Europe; the ‘original’ model from 15 years ago was considered better quality than the new product.

Especially in sub-Saharan Africa, an increasing amount of e-waste is now generated by low-grade new electronic devices and peripherals (mobile phones, data cables, battery packs etc.). These new devices, which are imported directly from China, Malaysia and other producing countries in East-Asia, often break shortly after purchase and are usually instantly discarded. This trend is also becoming apparent in Europe, where discount retailers like Poundland (UK) and Action (NL) are offering an increasing assortment of peripherals of equally low durability. Thus, a change in the dynamics of global trade in new and used electronics is taking place.

Several questions arise from this development:

-Consumer technologies such as computers and mobile phones have long served as symbolic objects in visions of the ‘new’ and the futuristic. How does the current drive towards conspicuous disposability and transitoriness of these objects affect this symbolic trope?

-The availability of directly imported low-cost new electronics means that Europe and North-America’s role in the supply of consumer technology to Sub-Saharan Africa is declining. In what ways might this development relate to China’s expansion of its geopolitical interests in sub-Saharan Africa in a broader sense (large scale investments in infrastructure, energy supply and raw material mining)?

-How can the degree to which various markets (ranging from the urban to the rural and the pastoral) are penetrated by specific electronic devices (e.g. mobile phones and its peripherals) be read as a degree of connection to and participation in globalized culture?

A consideration of electronics consumption in Kenya is of interest to these questions: the country encompasses a particularly broad range of electronics retail and use practices, ranging from westernized urban mall culture, to pastoral communities where electronics play a very different role. Street vendors and small scale shops are omnipresent in Kenya. Their form of trade seems especially compatible with the dissemination of these cheap, new electronic devices and peripherals. The speed and informal nature of the transactions in public space make it a typical environment for the impulsive purchase of products without long term-use perspectives.

During our visit to Kenya, we decided to examine the rise of low-grade new electronics by tracing the way in which one specific common and cheap electronics accessory – the micro USB charging cable – is represented and sold in a broad range of geographical and cultural environments across the country. We explored the trading sites where we found the various cables through a psychogeographical approach. In his article, ‘Introduction to a Critique of Urban Geography’ (1955), Guy Debord describes psychogeography as ‘the study of the precise laws and specific effects of the geographical environment, consciously organized or not, on the emotions and behavior of individuals.’ In such study of the environment, the method of the ‘dérive’, or ‘drift’, takes a central place. Debord describes this as ‘a mode of experimental behavior linked to the conditions of urban society: a technique of rapid passage through varied ambiances.’

In each site we visited, participants conducted several dérives. Throughout these drifts (individually or in pairs) through the retail environment the participants purchased cables and used writing, photography and sound recording to document their environments in terms of their social, geographical, economic, and aesthetic dimensions. In addition, photographer Alexia Manzano created visual overviews of the general environments of the dérives, while also acting as a paparazzi of sorts, taking distant shots of participants with a zoom lens while they were exploring the environments. The resulting set of data from our explorations includes the following:

-a collection of physical cables

-a series of white box studio photographs of these cables

-individual participant documentation of the environments in which the cables were collected (including text, snapshot photos and sound recordings)

-photographic overviews of the various sites

-photos of the participants interacting with their surroundings during their explorations

Through this combination of documentation in different media and with different scopes the project builds on the acknowledgement that the electronic commodities we investigated do not exist as autonomous objects, but are embedded in a network of stories, expectations and practices. Importantly, the buyer also plays an important role in this network. Thus, the project participants are also implicated as research subjects themselves. While performing their explorations, they operate – and are perceived – in a certain relation to the commodities they buy, based on (assumptions about) their background in terms of class, gender and race. Hence, part of the documentation is focused on showing how participants navigate and interact with the various retail environments.

An evaluation of some of our findings in relation to this, as well as a reflection on the potential and limitations of the project’s methodology will follow soon. For now, here is a selection of photos and participant notes from five of the sites we visited:

Gaikindo Market, Nyeri County (regional rural market)

Greenman: ‘My phone is a fake Sony. I asked Jimmy from Jimmy’s Enterprises if he has an original USB cable for my phone. The cable he sold me malfunctions. Charging is frequently interrupted’.

Joan Otieno: ‘Salesman Karioki was not aware that he had a USB cable in his assortment. He didn’t recommend the one he had: “Please don’t buy it, it’s fake! There’s another shop that sells originals. You have money, so you can afford an original one.”’

Gakindu, Nyeri County (settlement, 5km from Gaikindo)

Dani Ploeger: ‘We found no USB cables. Kids offered to go home and look for some for us to buy from their families. Here, only the sheep had cables.’

Westgate Shopping Mall, Westlands, Nairobi (upmarket shopping centre)

Joan Otieno: ‘I perceived this as a place where only the rich go. I didn’t interact with people and only saw prices at a distance. The cables were very expensive. On the way to the toilet I spoke with a security guard. “Do you just want to have a look or do you want to buy?”, he asked. I felt bad about going to shops without buying anything.’

Dani Ploeger: ‘Several of the cables I saw here are advertised with a focus on their innovative characteristics. The promoted features often seem absurd, e.g. the cable doesn’t tangle cos it’s very short.’

Luthuli Avenue, Central Business District, Nairobi (electronics wholesale area)

Catherine Chapman: ‘There are many wholesalers here and nobody seems to know what’s going on. There is no control of products coming in and going out and traders seem to have little to no knowledge of the products they are selling.’

Chris Williams: ‘I was looking for a mini USB lead for my somewhat older phone. I didn’t find any and nobody I met had an understanding of cable types. They were just sales people.’

Nyayo Market, Ngara, Nairobi (secondhand market close to the city centre)

Greenman: ‘I overheard the traders speaking among each other: “Did you have the whites in your shop? They look like money”. They asked me: “are you buying this for yourself or for them?” I was perceived as part of a group of foreigners, rather than a local individual visiting the market.’

Chris Williams: ‘I felt that the atmosphere on the market was relaxed. I spoke with a trader who appreciated secondhand products: “old is gold”’.
